In our heads, we live in perpetual someday.

It’s easy to keep living for an elusive future and stake everything on someday.

It’s also tempting to postpone actually LIVING.

Today I felt a bit overwhelmed about all the things I have to do, be, and learn.

The Lord nudged me to remember to live life day by day.

Read the Word and practice what you learn today.

Read a book and execute the lesson/principle today.

Pray today.

Worship today.

Learn today.

Work today.

Do your best TODAY.

If you don’t know what to do, do what you know how to do TODAY.

Don’t think you have to spend your entire life preparing for someday; today IS the day.

Do what you can today; it compounds!

Take care of the days, and the year will take care of itself.

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

As I sat to write this, I asked the Lord, “What do you want to say to your children today?”

I had barely completed the thought when I heard Him respond, “Tell them I see them”.

So that’s the message for today.

God sees you.

He SEES you.

His gaze isn’t on you to nitpick and zoom in on all the mistakes you make; His gaze is on you because He loves you.

He sees you.

He is not indifferent to you.

You are not invisible to Him.

He sees you.

His gaze rests upon you.

Turn your eyes to Him, and you will find that He was watching you all along.

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

These days I’ve been thinking a lot about the stars.

How wonderful they are. How beautiful. How constant.

If the Lord sustains the stars, how much more you, His child?

Look up into the heavens.

Who created all the stars?

He brings them out like an army, one after another,

calling each by its name.

A tangible expression of dwelling in the presence of God consistently is joy.

I don’t think we realise just how loved we are by God, how close he wants us to be. Today, I’m sharing Jesus' prayers for all who believe in Him.

The prayer is so tender, so moving. My prayer is that we know and understand just how loved we are.

After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life — to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. How cool is it that God blesses us even in our sleep? I’ve never read these verses in the Amplified version before today, but someone shared it today during a program I was following and wow, I was hit by the depth of God’s love.

And on the days when you can’t muster up the strength to do much except say “God help me”, you should know that it is a prayer he hears and answers.

You should know that it is okay to use simple words in prayer, that it is okay to offer your petitions in simple sentences, prayed in the name of Jesus, and offer them to God.

You should remember that you are not heard because of your many words, but because the Father loves you and inclines himself to you.

You should know that prayer isn’t burdensome; all you need to do is sit with your Father in secret and speak to Him.

Not everything has to be complicated; He is really just a prayer away.

He hears, and He answers.

Remember to come to Him as a child, in faith, trusting solely in His faithfulness, not your performance of prayer.

If you haven’t prayed in a while, go ahead and pray now.

I love the LORD because he hears my voice

and my prayer for mercy.

Because he bends down to listen,

I will pray as long as I have breath!

Here’s another piece from my notes. May it be a soothing balm to your heart.

One day, as I prayed, this is what the Lord said to me:

Do you know why I had the people I love go through long periods of waiting, pain and seeming despair? It’s so they could learn that nothing on this earth matters and I am the only one who truly satisfies. It’s not that I couldn’t give them what they desired and what I had placed in their hearts and what I promised immediately.

It’s that I wanted them to truly know me. There’s a level of knowing and intimacy you get to that nothing else truly matters. Everything you have could burn to ashes, and your world could crumble, but you won’t be shaken because Only love for me fills your heart. That’s where I’m taking you to, my beloved. Pain is a sign of attachment. The level of pain determines the level of attachment. It’s not that you should desire or love these gifts I give you. It’s that you should love me so much that everything else pales in comparison. This is where you find freedom, love, peace and joy. Nobody can give it to you except me, and no earthly thing can give it to you.

You can lose everything, but you can’t lose me

You can be disappointed by life events, but I will never disappoint you

Everything else will fall short, but I will not

Beloved, fix your eyes on me and forget everything else. I am enough for you. Enough for your hurting heart. It’s why I can ask you to leave everything behind. Because I am enough. You just have to believe that. No matter what you gain or lose, I, Jesus, am enough, and I demand your whole heart.

Only my love is perfect and doesn’t fail.

Everything your heart is searching for and hungry for is in me. I need you to see that.

The stability you crave and desire is in me. You will never find it in the world, and you shouldn’t seek it there either. This is the greatest secret. This is how Abraham could move and follow me to a place even he didn’t know. He was anchored in me.

Sadness is not your destiny. Despondency is not what I have clothed you with.

Rest in me and my perfect Love for you.

Pain comes when you ask the world for what it can’t give you.

Nothing will ever satisfy your heart. Only I can. It’s how I made you. Healing will only come from resting in me. Embrace the journey, enjoy the journey. It’s how I teach you about me. That’s the real treasure. Not earthly things. My blessings for you are eternal.

I found something I wrote in my notes a while ago, and it blessed me immensely. I thought I’d share it with you.

There’s a certain exhaustion that comes with a Christianity that’s rooted in things. The Christianity that’s only about a breakthrough, a prophecy, a promise, a testimony, a problem being solved and a need being met. The Christianity that’s overly focused on self and trying to make things happen. The Christianity that prays not to commune with God but just to decree and declare and receive and manifest.

It’s like a hamster wheel. A never-ending chase. An endless pursuit. Because in this imperfect world? There’ll always be something that needs fixing. Something that we want. Something we desire so much.

Don’t get me wrong. There’s a place for these things. He said, " Ask, and you shall receive. But he didn’t tell us to seek things. Nor did he say we have to strong-arm him and prove our case to receive from him.

True rest comes from genuine faith. From genuine connection and communion with God. Not from a never-ending pursuit of things.

When I feel off balance, it’s usually because I’m tilted to the extreme of seeking God strictly to solve my problems, not because I enjoy and delight in Him.

The faith that was handed to us isn’t one that is about an endless pursuit of self. Imagine if ALL we had to read in the epistles were stories of how God met Paul’s personal needs and the breakthroughs he recorded; how would we understand the gospel? Our faith? Our identity in Christ?

The mystery is that a man like the Apostle Paul faced dire situations that required divine intervention, yet often the Lord walked him through them without ending them. The testimony is that he fought the good fight and preached the gospel. The fruit of his communion with the Father is the rich words that edify us today. The evidence of a life well lived is faith. Not in things or turnaround, but in God. Strength birthed from weakness, exhaustion and even lack.

So if you’re feeling exhausted, and all you find yourself doing these days is praying over and over about the same issue, not really talking to God, but talking at him, then please pray about the issue; cast your burdens unto him. Then resolve to seek Him for Him.

Take it from me. God has heard you. Some things just need time. Meanwhile, rest in the Father’s love; commune with him. Pray. Not just about that situation, but let your devotional life be rich and be filled with worship and awe. Praise him, not just to birth a testimony, but because he is worthy to be praised.

Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you.

God has to be the lens through which you view life; if not, you might lose heart.

God is the centre of it all.

He holds all of life together.

Everything makes sense eventually in Him.

You must remind yourself of this truth always.

The point of life is to know God and to be known by Him.

Every event in our lives can further this goal; therefore, at its core, everything that happens to us is good.

If a joyful thing happens, it is good because we draw near to God in praise.

If a bad thing happens, it is good because he comforts us in our pain.

In all things, He is good.

No scenario is without Him.

All things will fade away eventually, but our God will endure forever and ever.

Let your heart take comfort in this.

Whether it be bad or good, God is always good.

May we be like Joseph, who said:

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

Genesis 50:20

This is a simple song that we all know.

When you really think about the lyrics, you realise how true they are.

A lot of us are stressed about things that we can't control.

Maybe it's time to do the simple thing and take God at his word: trust and obey.

It's a choice you have to make.

This week, I hope you choose to trust and I hope you choose to obey God.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
