It was my last paper Biology Practical, to be precise and the next day, Saturday, was my graduation day. Ahhhhh! I was so elated. I couldn’t wait!

I had this very long, thick, black natural hair that I absolutely adored. I took care of every single strand with so much loveee because I believed God had given me such a beautiful crown. 👑🥹

The previous day, I had made a beautiful hairstyle in preparation for my graduation because there was no way I was going to deal with the stress of making my hair after my exam.

But Command is a military school, and the hairstyle I had made would definitely attract attention. So, I covered my hair with a cap.

On getting to the assembly ground, the next thing I heard in a loud, familiar voice was:

“Heyyy! Come here, open that hair!”

That was Egghead, a popular name for one of the most troublesome soldiers. He was a Muslim and had a very strong Hausa accent.

I was trembling. Shivers literally ran down my spine. 😭

I slowly opened my hair, and he smirked before saying, “Kneel down there and start loosening that hair.”

“But sir, tomorrow is my graduation,” I replied.

The next thing I knew, I was getting flogged. 😭😭

I stood up and ran, but of course, he was faster. He called a female soldier, and that was when Soldier Bukola appeared.

How could I ever forget her? 😭

She sat on me with a pair of scissors and started cutting my hair, strand by strand. I cried out in so much pain and disbelief.

Just like that, my pride was gone.

My crown.

My beautiful hair.

Gone. 😭😭😭😭😭

At the time, I genuinely couldn’t believe it. I had waited so long for my graduation, and somehow, that was how my beautiful hair ended up being sacrificed. 😂😭

But looking back today, I can smile and say it only took time. God replaced it. He restored my crown in double folds, and for that, I am most definitely grateful. ❤️

Sometimes, what we think is the end of something beautiful is just God making room for something even better. 🥹❤️

And honestly… look at me today. The crown is backkkkk! 👑🤭

A love that waits🥺

And most times, I’m like the Israelites

absolutely_oma🤭

And most times, I’m like the Israelites

I grumble in the valleys, I question in the nights.

I complain and complain, yet He never lets me go,

Through every storm and struggle, His love continues to show.

When I lose my way, He gently holds my hand,

And whispers to my heart, “My child, you’re still in My plan.”

When I forget His goodness, He reminds me I am loved,

That even in my weakness, I am cherished from above.

I wander, yet He waits; I stumble, yet He stays,

His mercy walks beside me through the darkness and the days.

And though I am unfaithful, His love remains the same

I may forget His promises, but He still calls my name.
