1. Leverage your subject matter expertise: Don’t shortcut your scientific or clinical background. It gives you a unique perspective.

2. Be risk aware, not risk averse: In business strategy, you must learn to balance risks and opportunities to make bold decisions in the face of uncertainty.

This session will begin with a brief firm overview presentation with live Q&A, then we’ll spend most of our time in small group breakout discussions led by current Bain consultants. This event is a great opportunity for you to get your questions answered, to meet and speak with several members of our consultant and recruiting teams, and to learn more about this career path and the opportunities within strategy consulting for advanced degree candidates. Event eligibility: In an effort to keep the event as intimate as possible for Stanford and UCLA candidates entering the recruiting process this year, we ask that only those seeking ADvantage program roles in 2026 and/or full-time roles with start dates in 2027 register for this session. Candidates must be enrolled in an advanced degree program, which Bain considers to be: PhDs, JDs, MDs, postdocs, medical residents, and fellows.
