Reader— what are your thoughts on dreams and desires?

Have you had the courage to pursue them? Have you lived your dreams?

I don't believe that most people abandon their dreams because they failed. I believe they abandon them long before that.

When they believe that failure is inevitable and they do not possess the talent, discipline, courage or conviction to carry their dreams to the end.

People abandon their dreams because somewhere along the way, they stop believing in them.

I often wonder if I have real faith in my dreams?

Not the kind of dreams that feel nice to talk about, but the ones that feel almost unreasonable to say out loud. The kind that makes you imagine a future so vividly you cannot even entertain the idea that it might never happen.

I am a privileged gyal and lived most of my dreams. The dreams that didn’t manifest were replaced for better ones, more aligned ones.

I may not be the favourite child of the universe but I have this pattern of making things happen, putting myself out there and embarrassing myself.

I have a pattern of winning. It’s absolute. I just keep on winning and winning and winning

I don’t ever intend to live a life of misery, and blame & anything my soul desires I make sure to bring it to her.

Sure there have been costs in terms of relationships, health but winning has never been an option. It’s been a side effect of the games I play.

Cultivating the pattern of winning has never been effortless and I have always had cheerleaders encouraging me and rooting for me for when and if I set out to play and win.

Winning for me has required fuck ups, falls, embarrassing stories, overwhelming pain, ugly cries but I do them all for the plot.

Embarrassment — the entry

This pattern of winning that you see, I have cultivated it has required embarrassing moments lots of them and I don’t want to hide or pretend they didn’t happen because being a beginner at a game requires embarrassing yourself.

Here are ways I embarrassed myself and the other person and said things on sales calls 📞 because I find them incredibly hard.

• “ I wouldn’t have been getting on this call with you, if it didn’t feel aligned. “ Awkward silence ……

• “I have only mostly worked with women. “ partially true but didn’t land perfectly

• “I am feeling nervous.”

• “I am feeling nervous.”

• Speaking in a nervous tone

Confidence has been my struggle since childhood I am a quiet girly and in group settings I struggle with speaking up.

Sure the opposite has also been true in some situations but what I’ve realised is confidence and authority leads to winning and confidence comes from putting in the reps.

The more you do it, the more effortless it becomes for you to succeed at something.

Blocking out the noise

A lot of humans who struggle with developing courage to pursue what their heart desires or upskill at a particular skill their heart calls them to will try to impose their limiting beliefs on to you and we stop listening to the naysayers.

When I set out to build my copywriting biz on insta they told me “ you can never get copywriting clients from Insta, it’s a visual based platform.

I called that BS and got 50+ clients from there. I sold graphics and coaching too.

When I set out to learn art as a little gurlie and struggled with drawing necks they criticised me.

When I set out to build my Substack they told me nobody will pay to read your writing.

When I launched my first e-book they told me the design is ugly and embarrassing and I sold 50 + copies.

You see feedbacks are just opinions and sure sometimes they help us grow but how we give feedbacks matters too.

I have also had the privilege of receiving feedbacks in the kindest way possible, the way I couldn’t imagine from my editor friend @kieran Majury and am always grateful for his support.

Feedbacks from the right people leads to winning.

Believe you will succeed

The pattern of winning requires self-belief lots of it. When you don’t believe in yourself you move with the mindset of doubt and others can perceive it like that.

My ex taught me this and he was right. Doubt is from the devil and instilled in our psyche by the society.

When we were kids we didn’t grow up doubting ourselves but then the conditioning happened and we started to put ourselves in boxes 🗃️

We forgot the pattern of winning is inherent to us.

Reader— I feel inspired to write about 💲today.

I have a deep fear of finances because of what’s been done to me and the kind of environment I have grown up in. The fear is persistent, cellular, part –collective, ancestral, colonial and sometimes makes me freeze, reject food and wanna throw up.

The fear makes me play small, make do with little, suffer, sacrifice, sabotage my success, hide, procrastinate, back out at last minute of a big deal, big launch and worry.

I come from small town India and my home has been filled with darkness. It’s been an environment of anxiety, manipulation, struggle, scarcity and abuse.

I don’t come from poverty but I come from scarcity…. and yes both are different.

My parents were given everything —education, housing, extra land, FDs, passive rental income source etc because of the hard-work and service of my grandparents

But they couldn’t see it, and their nervous system continued living in scarcity.

….. meaning my mother despite having enough couldn’t keep money safely. Lived in freeze mode and often made narratives of lack and her money being stolen which led to repeated violence.

When I entered my teenage years my needs weren’t being met because of my mother’s mental illness, family dysfunction, my own illness and I needed to figure out a way to make myself money.

I had needs and desires but also wasn’t brave enough to go outside to get a job.

I explored different ways to make money online and copywriting worked out for me.

My first 5-7 clients were from Facebook. There was too much competition but not sure how I still ended up getting clients.

I started with SEO content writing and was furst writing in my notebooks. I wrote a lot and kept on setting goals and milestones and achieving them quick.

Within 6 months of starting my journey I made $1000. (year 2019-2020 to be exact)

It wasn’t effortless but I made it happen.

I’ve had clients rejecting my articles straightaway. I have had clients not pay half-payment. I have had clients ghost on me but I persisted. And I am so grateful I did because a writing life has been a beautiful life.

Reader— I hope when death arrives I know that I lived a beautiful, gentle life.

The one true to myself.

I want to bathe in that realisation that no matter how much society tried to drag me down, limit my potential I chose peace & courage.

Reader— how does it feel to move gently when you are used to obsession & intensity?

How does it feel when what the world taught you just doesn’t work out?

Dear reader, 2025 was an incredibly painful year for me with massive transformation and movement.

Fear-based movement.

My body started moving on its own and all I did was escape reality. I created with obsession. I created a lot.

For this page. To escape my life, my mind.

While those moments of existential burden taught me a lot.

I believe that level of obsession is unhealthy and doesn’t bring the expected result.

Reader, in marketing Quality vs quantity is a valid debate and I believe the quality of what I was putting out into the world was very low quality.

I wouldn’t call my past work trash because that led to growth but I am not at all satisfied with what I delivered to you. I could do better. I am sorry.

As I am reflecting I’m getting to realise I have spent so much time in working hard on wrong strategies when I could focus on intention, alignment and systems.

Reader— I have grown up in an environment of anxiety, manipulation, violence, scarcity and abuse.

Intensity is familiar to me. Intensity and over-work has brought me clients in the past and validation from mother.

I have done evil speech and created stories of struggle to develop familiarity with people around me.

But the stories of struggle have kept me in struggle and I can no longer afford that.

Here are the hard-working mistakes I made that I will no longer:

Writing terrible first Dms:

Reader, instead of writing an inviting first Dm to my LinkedIn connection I wrote Dms that just weren’t good enough and that led to the demise of valuable conversations with potential clients, partner, community members.

Mindless commenting

The quantity vs quality debate applies here too. I wrote comments just to tick off the list and didn’t put in enough effort in building genuine connection.

Self sabotage

After putting in 14 hours of hard-work for months I would sabotage things the moments success visits my door 🚪 because of fear. Hard-work leading no-where.

Pushing through

I pushed through after getting too exhausted. My body did. It’s wired to and that caused me back ache.

Not doing proper research

A lot of my hard-work that led no where could be stopped if I had put in enough effort and not been too random and mindless.

Reader, I had forgotten the joy of creating meaningful work. Presence is all life and business ever asks for. I didn’t do my job with passion rather hustle and sacrifice.

But we take in the lessons learned and move.

Reader, recently I have been reflecting, thinking about my feelings and how deeply I feel them.

I find myself questioning who would I be if I wasn’t an HSP? Would my life be easier then?

I have been raw about my emotional system here and that has got me compliments

My courage to express myself vulnerably has been taken positively by  my readers— those who admire me, see the light in me and yearn to know me deeply.

I think there is a difference between wanting to be seen & understood and I’m not sure which one I’ve been seeking recently.

When I look at the metrics, numbers, views, likes, people reading, commenting, it warms my heart and makes me want to continue creating—better, gentle, valuable content.

Someone noticed. Someone opened. Someone read. Someone took the time to respond

My newsletter opening rate is an all time high and that brings a smile 😊 on my face.

Look, I do not want to pretend I am above all this. Of course I am a writer & marketer. Likes, follow, clicks, open rate, impressions and click through rate matters to me.

Of course I want my writing to be seen. To my words to travel across oceans. To my sentences to be recognised and my name remembered.

Being seen feels like intimacy when you receive it. Someone recognises your work, leaves a comment and suddenly it feels like proof that your words are seen, they are valuable and you ain’t alone in your struggles.

But then there is a different feeling underneath it a quieter one, the awareness that it might all be a performance, a facade. That people are seeing a version of you, not who you truly are.

You drown in doubt, hesitate, try to hide, but something within you encourages you, you shall persist.

The journey we have been on, the hard- work we do, is not for the faint- hearted. With compliments and fame, the negatives cannot be escaped.

Creativity and intimacy brings in  criticism and how you bounce off of that expresses courage, dedication & resilience.

Reader, being seen is heroic, getting compliments is admirable— but staying grounded in all seasons, staying calm when no one reads our words, when people criticise our ideas and when challenges visit our journeys is what we move towards mastering.

Reader, I am here again… writing about direct messaging because:

A) it reminds me of someone special

B) The right messaging moves the needle

Dear reader, what are your views on small talk? Do you enjoy it?

I don’t so much I like depth, intimacy and hearing about the mundane details.

When I am writing Dms I don’t like being shallow, too professional, I like hearing about the shitty colleague, about salty noodles 🍜 and how tree branches were floating around in the morning.

I like to remember the silly little details about lives of the person I’m exchanging Dms with.

I like getting lost in conversations, I like asking how tired they got, if they napped well. I want to know so much.

But I also know we all got limited time and energy and Dming in marketing is about leading to a particular outcome.

Reader I felt inspired sharing my DM marketing learnings with you, not all, I am gatekeeping some (for me, my clients) …but mostly giving generously.

How does it feel sliding into the inbox of potential clients and collaborators?

Do you over think, hesitate? Have you ever even tried doing that?

Have you ever tried pitching your services in the direct messaging box of a stranger you have never met or known?

How did it land? How did it make you feel? Was it effortless or nerve-wracking??

Did you doubt yourself when your Dms didn’t open, got ignored or didn’t get a reply?

Did you feel unworthy when they landed straight up in the spam or did you not make it about you at all.

Did you ever track Dm opening rate?

Did you ever embarrass yourself in the Dms?

Did you ever unintentionally send a wrong Dm?

Did you ever try to figure out a way to stand out in the Dms?

Reader, when I started my freelance copywriting journey I experimented a lot with my Dms.

I never liked direct pitching but I wanted to do Dms for relationship building. & eventual sales.

With trial and error I figured out a way of Dming people on the internet that brings me 75% open rate.

Here are the tips:

Make it personalised:

Everyone is already tired of receiving spam and dozens of cold-pitches. To make your Dm standout from the crowd we bring in intimacy to the game, we use the name of the person and something very specific that we liked about them.

This will make them smile 😊

For example:

“Hellu Emily, I came across your profile and fell in love with your vibe, what you are creating and putting out into the world stands out. Your SP post resonated deeply with me. Thank you for doing all you do. Thank you for being a ray of sunshine on LinkedIn/Substack/Insta”

“Hellu Emily, I found you through Gled’s post ( a mutual friend) I would love to connect with you if you are open to it ☺️

This Dm has 75% open rate because as humans we like being adored and connecting with mutual friends.

Lead with curiosity :

3 out of 10 times these Dms will turn into inbound lead. Yes this surprised me too because when we reach out to targeted new people sometimes they are looking for exact services you are offering.

And if your Dm didn’t turn into an inbound lead yet. You can lead with curiosity but don’t be too direct, instead ask questions and share something personal.

This will allow them to open up and build genuine relationship with you.

Here are some second Dming ideas mostly personal

Example:

Today I happened to meet a school friend after ages and we had a bit of chit chat. We ate home-made masala dosa and discussed plants 🌱 in her terrace garden.

With adulthood and responsibilities life can be hectic it’s always good to recharge, do things that bring fulfilment and pour into your cup. I am curious what do you usually do to relax and recharge?

We ain’t here for chit-chat

Even though I enjoy yapping we have to keep in mind the time/energy limit.

We can not get lost in random conversation. Our goal is a particular outcome.

Calls/enquiry/subscription

We get more curious about them but slowly and subtly shift the conversation towards their business/work.

Third or 4th Dm is about qualification

Qualify them in the Dms :

By asking more questions regarding their business or work you can figure if they are the right fit client/customer for your offerings.

If so, you can pitch or keep things as is. Dming is all about being curious and leading your potential customers to make a decision for themselves.

Following up on your message :

When you pitch to them or get an enquiry it’s highly likely your Dm will get lost, they get busy.

So instead of assuming things from your mind and crying. You ask for clarification and follow up.

They don’t lie when they say sales is in the follow up.

Reader, I think one of the hardest things in life is realising not everything needs to be understood, fixed, or carried.

We spend so much of our lives searching for explanations.

We want closure. We want people to understand us. We try to control outcomes. We want things to make sense. We try to predict life through past experiences.

But life doesn’t always work that way.

Sometimes people/clients ghost you. They leave without explanation. Sometimes conversation remains unfinished. Sometimes people project their struggles onto you. Sometimes childhood wounds get activated. Sometimes life doesn’t go as fantasised or dreamed. Sometimes you try to escape life. To run away.

We often treat “I don’t know as if it’s a bad thing. As if we need to have our lives figured out under all circumstances.

As if life isn’t in the unknown.

We react, over-react and struggle to remain grounded in challenging times.

I know I am the same. I run away when it gets too hard. I struggle with commitment. My heart craves, safety, consistency and commitment but life isn’t like that.

There are always shifts, changes, and challenges. One thing that supports me remain grounded in all seasons is my daily routine.

In my last job in an agency, the founder told me I admire your work-ethic Aiman. This is exactly what matters and everything can be learned.

I know I’ve developed a strong work-ethic by showing up at the same time for the same task almost everyday.

I remember my early-copywriting days when my editor friend @Kieran Majury supported me & inspired me to develop a writing routine.

I am not going to lie, in the beginning it was hard. I procrastinated, struggled but as I devoted to my writing life, it became easier.

Even when I’ve no clients I show up, create and live a creative life because that’s what fulfills me.

That’s what keeps me grounded.

Here is my daily routine:

Early rising and ritual

Most mornings I rise before the Sun. ☀️ Early morning calm heals my body. My day often begins with a cold glass of water often with lemon usually followed by a comforting home-made breakfast by mother. Today I ate a big sized paratha made of gram flour and tomato chutney. 🥫

A huge part of what sets the tone of my day is I intentionally create slowness. So I often begin my day with a nurturing moment. A 30 minute meditation session, yoga 🧘‍♀️ on my terrace

I don’t try to be rigid and follow my excitement.

9 am

Post breakfast I sit down to write, answering Dms, replying to comments, writing articles, brainstorming content ideas.

The morning hours are the best.

I usually feel more at peace with my words during the early or mid morning hours. Sometimes I will feel a little lazy and want to procrastinate my day but as I said I try to show up no matter what.

Noon

As artists, writers & marketers we can be fickle beings. We need variety, rest & zeal to feel peace at work.

If it’s summertime I find myself taking a nap during noon or explore with new forms of art. I abandon screen and loose myself in physical creative pursuits

I have been told my gift is connecting dots and this is exact why I explore different forms of creativity to mix and match and create what the world hasn’t seen yet.

You would be surprised if I let you know how I once went on an adventure of floral hunting walks & drawing 100+ flowers 🌺 and that’s what gave me the name of this pub.

By 2pm I take my lunch 🥪 mostly rice, 🍚 nothing extra-ordinary and re-start my work

Early evening

It may take no surprise to you I take my evenings with same level of coziness & comfort as I do most things.

My evenings are productive and I do mostly admin tasks— data tracking, prospecting & community building.

Tracking I’ve figured prevents me from continuing on the wrong strategies for long and I find it very useful.

I log off around 5:30 and go to our terrace garden 🪴 for yin yoga. Sometimes I go outside and buy myself cheese corn noodles, 🍜 dosa, Schwarma roll and alike.

Late evening

My late evening is about self-learning. Recently I have been dedicating 30 minutes a day to improve my maths skills as it’s necessary for business 👩‍💼 and I like to challenge myself. “How to be a mathemagician” Is a book of my ancestors that I’m learning from.

Throughout my life I’ve been criticised for my Maths skills. Teachers humiliating me in-front of other children to my mother & grandmother comparing me to my brother who scored 100/100. Maths always brought sucky feelings and now my intention is to be better at it.

Not to prove others just for myself.

Nighttime

I don’t indulge in mindless scrolling or over-working during late evenings and night as it disturbs my sleep and causes racing mind.

On the rare occasion I become a night owl but most days I wind down early I read and sleep.

How can your marketing be more elegant?

It’s not the question you ask yourself on a warm mid summer evening.

Yet if you are a woman, finding her way in business, you value care for your customers, community…….you hope to present the version that makes your readers, clients, audience want to keep coming again for more.

Reader, now that my focus for this newsletter has shifted to marketing I find myself fantasising about creating elegant content & drawn to sharing you information I rehearsed and strategies I experimented with over the years.

What worked? What felt icky and meh!

What brought me pleasure and what felt effortless.

I have had moments in my life where my strategies have been criticised and the same ones have gotten appreciation from different people.

I have been naive, I didn’t gate-keep & shared every valuable learnings too freely.

It either made them not value my work/ideas/strategies.

Or it made them benefit from it which I am grateful about.

The title may sound strange, can marketing be masculine & feminine?

See, the systems of the world like corporate systems are built in traditional masculine settings.

Women are expected to perform, over-work & prove they belong.

It focuses on hierarchy, stiffness, too much competition, speed, dominance and assertion while the feminine ways are about nurturing, harmony, community-building, being warm & collaborative.

Both works and I in no-way believe there is one right path or we need to follow only one style of marketing.

I am both. I am fast and I am nurturing.

But what has worked for me over & over is my generosity, warmth, joy, my community building skills.

These have brought me leads when I wasn’t expecting. Referrals when I was about to go broke and sales when I was sleeping. 😴

A fun fact you may not know about me?

I have never used a résumé

Yes there were times I tried building a monotonous black & white resume and going on rounds of interviews for a particular role but I was never hired.

What has worked?

Personal branding, content creation, community building, inbound marketing.

I don’t like competition. I have never succeed at it. From college entrances to work-life. I have never been the chosen one among 1000s

I have been the chosen one among one.

People who truly did work with me or liked working with me.

It was a no-brainer yes. They didn’t hop around interviewing dozens of candidates for the job.

They worked with me because they wanted to work with me.

I eliminate 99% of competition through personal-brand building & community building.

Hiring me for them is like hiring a trustworthy friend who can pull off the work required.

I always get this compliment, your content is authentic, your content is authentic and I know it is.

I have learned to express my authenticity with clarity in my messaging.

I have learned to share parts of me online that weren’t always easy to share.

And I have experimented with my writing & marketing a lot.

Inbound marketing has always been my main source of leads and if I’m not inviting the right leads through my content I know it’s on me too.

Somewhere, it’s falling flat, needing tweaking or more research.

Reader, it’s 12:49 on a Tuesday morning and am writing this to you.

I’ve written this intro over and over across multiple platforms but every time it just doesn’t feel good enough. Nothing ever feels like it.

Where do we start?

My early childhood

My early childhood was spent reading, writing, painting, catching butterflies 🦋watching Disney movies and pretending to be a fairy. 🧚

Pulling all nighters to make art, clay toys and play board games was something I and my cousin did.

Adolescence

As I entered adolescence the same fairy tale life turned pretty dark and I battled PCOD, financial struggles, emotional abuse, religious oppression and living with a mentally ill parent.

To deal with all the chaos I lost myself in books as I come from the family of academicians.

I learned theorems, solved Walker physics numericals, memorised chemical reactions, drew global maps, fucked with a good thesaurus and attended 10 coaching classes at the same time.

My days were optimised and I dreamt of becoming a doctor 👩‍⚕️

My dream was shattered by the universe for a better dream.

I didn’t clear the medical entrance and launched my freelance writing career at 19.

Adulthood & writing career

Writing was my gift 💝 Ever since I was a child every time I wrote something I got praise from my school teachers.

Poetry, applications, notices, short story, anything I wrote would bring appreciation from my Teacher and make me blush ☺️

All English teachers loved me. Some even made me do their work. haha

My family runs a coaching business….so once upon a time not so long ago my family made me write a note to a teacher for electricity bill 💸 as I wrote it & sent it. The teacher hurried to my Dad telling him how well-written the notice was.. and he quickly cleared the bill.

My writing inspired quick action long before I pursued it professionally.

Professional writing

Because I come from small town India and my Dad’s coaching business was mostly service focused and not profit focused I struggled with finances and wanted to make my own money to buy what my heart desires.

Gorgeous dresses, jewellery, more books. A laptop 💻

So I needed to figure a way to make me 💸

I got into marketing instead of creative writing for the 💸 and man by the time I was 21 I got obsessed with marketing even more.

I started making way more than an average 9-5 ier in my country.

Working 14 hours per day was my normal. But health struggles tried dragging me down again and I was forced to slow down.

I slowed down to move fast and by 2022

I hit my first 100k cash month as a copywriter, worked with 100+ copywriting clients, sold 50+ e-books on gumroad, supported newbie copywriters launch their freelance writing career.

I was thriving but the universe has this way of humbling you…. I took a long break and lost everything.

Audience, clients, money 💵

Starting over required courage but the impact I had built over the years made people still remember me and want to work with me.

I got new clients but I felt my skills getting outdated. And now I am all about learning new skills and serving better clients.

More about me

At my core I am a creative, gathering hobbies impulsively and letting them collect dust, dragging them around for years & decades. Flirting with them again & again is what I often find myself doing.

Making pastel floral arts, pressing flowers, drawing them and hanging them on my wall bring me pleasure.

I have a love for learning, I like puns, alliteration, clever wit, ancient art and eloquent prose.

I like calligraphy, glass bangles, and learning about the feminine psyche and energies.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always been a planner. I take it from my grandmother witnessing her sitting on her wooden chair and doing financial planning made me want to be like that.

I like to map out life in advance. I find comfort in having a plan but a few years ago my life turned into a chaos.

I went through an awakening journey and lost access to the perceived control I built up in my mind. In terms of career, relationship, life etc.

I’ve come to terms with the unexpectedness of life now. I have learned to let go people & situations. It’s hurtful. Falling into uncertainties is just part of the process.

But then there are things in our control & those beyond our control. What I have learned is planning and organisation allows us to develop clarity and work on things in our control and make them more refined & aligned.

The new chapter is about planning, systems and organisations.

I am going to indulge deeply into marketing & copywriting now because even though I am all about skill stacking what I need to improvise on is to market myself, refine my messaging and attract aligned clients and readers.

I am a high achiever, when I set out to build my copywriting career in 2019 I dug deep onto everything and marketing was something I found the most joy in.

Because of updates, trends & shifts you just can never be bored of marketing.

There is always new to explore, learn & experiment with.

Because I am a small business owner I have this pattern of skipping steps, be unorganised and that has caused me more losses and heart-ache than I would like to admit.

I’ve said yes to unaligned clients. I have launched products without proper research.

I am not very equipped with systems but now I’m working on improvising that part and learning geometric art to improve my pattern analysis & systemic thinking skills.

I can no longer afford to be random or a chaos. Even when life is chaotic I can choose stability, peace and organisation.

My business deserves to be neat & organised. I will keep you updated on my learnings and how I am shifting things.

I’ve been enjoying the time spent offline, pouring onto me and connecting to my divine feminine self.

Funnily enough my recent copywriting project was about the same.

The clients mission was so aligned with me and I’m so grateful I got the privilege to work on that project.

Time and time again I’ve noticed this with me every time I solve a problem for myself God sends some client or people my way to help them with the same. This is divine orchestration.

I’ve decided to take a pause on my psychology career now that my degree is done. I don’t feel properly trained for this role and my expertise has been in marketing and copywriting and that’s what brings me joy more!

I’ve been working as a copywriter since 2019 and explored almost all niches and served 100+ clients. My expertise gets me hired fast and I thrive in movement

Currently I’m on a one month break and ngl I’ve already felt bored and missed my work ✨

My work is my source of fulfilment but because I burn out I need that time off to recharge & rest.

So here are the things I did recently to create moments of joy for myself:

• I wore a gorgeous dress & applied henna

• I took myself out to a beautiful cafe and ate yum foods

• I went for a terrace picnic at my best friends

• I got drenched in the rain 🌧️

I am grateful to have created the kind of life for myself which allows me to go on these long breaks and adventures!

This is the freedom of freelancing and being your own boss.

You have full autonomy over how many clients you would work with. When you would be taking breaks. You can say No. You can set boundaries. And also you got no one to blame if your biz is failing it’s on you too. And I love this!

So, how is Heal & Bloom shifting?

Heal & Bloom is about healing and personal growth, right?

But from now on we will be focusin on the marketing aspects of things too because that’s my profession and that’s what I want to double down on now!

happy Monday dearest reader, if you have been following me for a while you may have noticed I am a multi-passionate girlie and art is something I’ve also invested a lot of my time in learning, exploring and enjoying.

Curious question. Have you ever been to an art date?

Me? Yes many

Once upon a time in 2024 I became obsessed with going on art dates with friends and would encourage and persuade every friend of mine to make art.

Even those who don’t enjoy. Some agreed while others didn’t.

Making art with others is incredibly healing and finding my first friend to make art with was a challenge.

But then I ended up meeting my school bestie when I was struggling with too much chronic pain and seeking escape from the flare of pain.

I met my bestie and we made pencil sketches

It was unintentional but after a very long time I felt so relaxed and at peace. This particular day felt like a win.

Then I asked more of my friends to make art with.

Many said I can’t. I’m not good at it etc

So I decided to ping my long distance besties and they agreed.

This picture shown here is my favourite

It was of the time when I did an art date with Kirsty my internet bestie. She explored acrylic while I played with watercolour.

It was a beautiful experience, chatting, healing and painting 🖼

I then went to more art dates and all were fun and I learned a lot.

Here are the lessons I learned from getting on 15 art dates:

• Art dates with kids are the best as they shower you with so much love and appreciate anything and everything you create.

• Don’t force people to make art. If someone doesn’t enjoy making art don’t force them as it can make the experience annoying. The purpose of art dates is to have fun and if your friend isn’t having fun you would most likely not enjoy it either

• Do it for the process: I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. There is no bad art. Give yourself permission to play with colours and let go of perfection

Today, I’m going to be writing and guiding you on problem solving.

Coz life is filled with problems. Isn’t it?

Relationship problems. Sleep problems. Health problems. Career problems. Problems. Problems and more problems.

As humans we are creative beings and problem solvers.

It makes us who we are and connects us to our true nature.

When we are solving a problem and are engrossed in it we feel the thrill, confusion, pain, joy and many different emotions.

Now don’t get me started on how sometimes we even end up creating problems even when we don’t need to.

Because we do and it’s not fun!

Now, pause…..take a deep breathe 🧘‍♀️

And tell me, what are you struggling with recently? What problem/problems are you trying to solve?

What obstacle are you trying to overcome?

What challenges you are trying to conquer? Probably plenty.

I don’t know, what problem you are struggling with recently?

But what I do know is there is at least one.

And today I’m gonna give you strategies and insights on problem solving coz again this is something in my Masters psych syllabus, hehe

To be a problem solver, you need to go through 4 stages:

• Recognising and defining problem

• Analysing and finding possible solution

• Choosing the best solution

• Implementing the solution

Now, you might be wondering why am I telling you this when it’s so basic and natural to human beings.

We all know how to solve problems. We are so capable.

I know, I know that you are. There is no doubt in that.

But sometimes we as humans get caught up in the stage 2 or 3 of problem solving instead of solving them fast and with ease.

Like my mother for example, whenever she faces a problem she gets caught up in the analysing stage and me on the other hand just want to get to solution fast.

She likes the analysis stage more while I enjoy the action/result part.

This isn’t to say my way or her way of problem solving is better. Just that we are different.

And maybe her spending more time in analysis stage helps make better and thoughtful decisions.

As humans we all are different.

So let’s get into a bit detail:

Stage 1: Recognising and defining the problem

Obviously before taking any action you need to ensure a problem exists.

So the first step is recognition then giving it a label or tentative definition.

Stage 2: Analysing and finding possible solution

My mom’s favourite stage.

Analysing the problem involves identifying and collecting the relevant information and representing it in a meaningful way. My mom always does it when she comes up with a problem. She even proposes alternative ideas and solutions to each family members.

Ngl, sometimes I find it annoying because like I said I’m more fixated on the solving phase than analysis one.

Stage 3: Choosing the best solution

After analysis you move to solutions. You either come up with your own ideas or ask from others.

This is the third stage that I and my mom both often get stuck in and maybe spend more time here than we need to.

Because of the many alternatives, we question our decisions

Still I’m more quick than her here.

And then we finally move to implementation

Stage 4: Implementation of possible solutions

When you have discovered possible solutions you go with your chosen one and implement it in your life/business.

Implementation is my favourite stage. I’m an action taker. Just wanna get done with things fast.

Sometimes through panic. Sometimes in peace. But I love action and implementation

Obstacles in problem solving

Let’s now discuss the obstacles we as humans like my mom and me face in problem solving

Assumptions:

Humans are creative beings always assuming things. Which is good. Assumption is useful data but sometimes assumptions can stop people getting desired results.

Fixation

If you solved problem in a particular way in the past it can be that in the future you end up getting fixated on it and believing this is the only right way of it being solved.

You can get fixated.

Functional fixedness

It concerns the solution of object use problem. If you ever solved a problem in a particular way then you would get fixated on solving it in the same way.

You may not look for newer options.

So always stay curious friends!

As I start typing out my today’s letter I find myself wondering about the quiet echo of emptiness that often lingers when we conquer our goals.

Achieving success, ticking boxes, showing up where you need to be, keeping things moving, moving to another goal post.

Are you familiar to this feeling? Have you felt it?

I know this feeling very well and have felt it multiple times.

It was late summer of 2021, I was cooped in my parent’s house, sunk onto my study table and grinding hard for my freelance copywriting career.

The smell of butter chicken wafting from the oven.

I was immersed in my work. Making progress. Networking, building my social presence, getting on calls, closing clients, thriving!

But I was also very withdrawn from the world with no desire to see another soul.

I was doing good with finances, making more money than I thought I would ever make and was succeeding in my grad studies.

I was a 21 year old, pixie haired gurlie with honey warm eyes, who was nailing it at life. Copy queen is what they used to call me. They would be inspired by me. Learn from me. Look up to me. Buy from me.

And even though I loved all these, I was feeling not successful, not enough because, yk, how fucked up the definition of success is.

I was expecting and dreaming of more, and was still feeling an ache in my heart; I was feeling like a failure despite my achievements.

I was like……..” Why is nothing I do ever enough?”

“Why isn’t my damndest enough?”

And I would cry my heart out while listening to this exact song.

“I tried so hard and got so far, but in the end it doesn’t even matter! “

“I had to fall to lose it all, but in the end, it doesn’t even matter.”

“One thing I don’t know is why it doesn’t matter how hard you try. “

I listened to it on repeat and felt peace in my misery. Now if I look back, it was a moment of courage and strength, and it gives me nostalgia as I can never re-experience the same exact moment.

Last year, during late summertime I experienced something similar. A familiar ache.

After my burnout in July, when my goals were achieved.

I had successfully tackled my client project. I showed up to my exam despite the fear, ache, anxiety, and paranoia!

I succeeded but still felt like I had failed. Why is nothing I do ever enough? Why isn’t my best enough?

This time I listened to Coldplay on repeat…..

Fix you

“When you try your best but you don’t succeed, when you get what you want but not what you need, “

If I listen to it again, it will give me goosebumps because my burnout was intense, similar to the feeling of a near—fatal cardiac arrest so I would rather not.

But you get the point, right?

Sometimes or I would say most often success feels like an abject defeat.

Like never enough.

Over the years, I’ve come to realise that external achievements and accolades leaves you with a hollow, unfulfilling sense of empty feelings.

Sure, the journey of pursuing a goal and conquering your limitations is worth the challenge.

It helps you get to know yourself deeper and brings about fulfilment.

However, reaching your goals doesn’t always make you happy, and even if they do, that happiness doesn’t last as you are onto the next one to prove to yourself and others how capable/successful you are.

So, how do we deal with that feeling of emptiness? Of not enoughness?

We make Now enough! We find joy in the process. We become autotelic.

Do you ever find yourself hating on your body?

Wishing it looked different
Wishing it didn’t hurt so much…

Wish it didn’t cause you pain & disease
Wishing it didn’t hold you back from the things you long to do?

Wishing it was thicker, fatter, skinnier, fairer, darker—just different?

Maybe you wish certain parts of your body didn’t look the way they do.
Or maybe you felt betrayed when your body hurt, got sick, or stopped you from chasing your dreams.

I get it.
To some extent, I think we all do.

I believe lots of us carry body grief.

Because society shamed our bodies. Taught us that our bodies needed to look a certain way to be worthy of love, compassion, care, and even kindness. 😔

For me, I’ve been skinny-shamed all my life.
People would comment like it was casual small talk, not knowing how deep those words landed.

And alongside that, I live with chronic illness. My body has stopped me from pursuing things I thought I deeply wanted.
In those moments, I felt betrayed.
I hated her.

But I’ve come to realize…
She’s never been the rival
She’s been with me all along—doing her best.

She has carried me through exhaustion, stress, heartbreak, and survival-mode.

And now, she’s gently asking me to pay attention to her.
To rest.
To listen.
To care for her the way she’s always cared for me.

Here are a few practices that are helping me rebuild this relationship:

Write a love letter to your body.
If she were your beloved friend, what would you say? How would you comfort her?

Put her first.
We were raised to prioritize career & productivity first, but your body isn’t a machine. She’s your home. Your life depends on her well-being.

Shift your self-talk.
Instead of “I hate my body,” try “I hear you.”
When she aches, respond with kindness, not criticism.

Do something that feels good every day.
Eat intuitively. Move gently. Rest without guilt. Listen to her whispers before they become screams.

Practice body gratitude.
She breathes for you. She holds your heart. She shows up for you every single day—even when you’re tired of everything.

Move your body with love.
Movement is medicine. It’s celebration. A language your body speaks fluently. Let it feel like play, not pressure.

This journey of coming home to your body isn’t always linear.
Some days it feels like love, some days like grief.
But each step, no matter how small, is sacred.

If you’re on this path too, know that you’re not walking it alone.

I’m with you.
So is your body. 💗

Here are two beautiful song I discovered last year that is helping me mend my relationship with my body

Another when I am struggling with a flare up of chronic pain or something

Easy on me

Here is how I interpret the lyrics:

“Go easy on me, baby

I was still a child

Didn’t get the chance to

Feel the world around me

I had no time to choose what I chose to do

So go easy on me

There ain’t no room for things to change

When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways

You can’t deny how hard I have tried

I changed who I was to put you above first

But now I give up!”

Even though I know this song isn’t related to relationship with body but I happen to interpret it like that.

When she is hurting me, I am telling her Go easy on me babe, I was still a child. I wasn’t taught to put you first. I was forced to put my career and productivity first.

I honestly had no option or choice to do what I chose to do. Pushing through felt like the only option.

And then when you finally had enough of survival, and you made me change.

I did. I changed who I was to put you above first.

So it’s like a vulnerable conversation with my body.

Happy Monday, reader, if you have been following me for a while yk I am an art, crafty gurly.

I have drawn 100+ floral arts, and that’s how I came across this name for my pub, Heal & Bloom. Bloom for flowers.

Art teaches me a lot. It teaches me mindfulness, slowness, and patience.

Once upon a time, I was telling my ex-boyfriend how I dislike the marketing aspects of my biz, like engagement, outreach, and sales call and mostly enjoy creating!

He said to me, you are creating relationships, it’s an art, and this is the exact shift in perspective I needed.

As I reflected, I realised that marketing & creating relationships is indeed an art and highly correlated with art, so here are the lessons learned.

The details matter: In Art detail is exactly what beautifies what you have created, and the same goes for marketing; if you ain’t paying attention to the details, you may end up overlooking important details and may not be able to create the desired outcome.

Be Patient: If you try to make your art in a minute, it may not turn out as good, and you may fuck up a lot, but if you approach your art/marketing with patience and focus on enjoying the journey, the outcomes will become the side effects, and they will indeed be graceful.

Approach with care: Reader- I know you may already be aware of this. Approach your clients/customers with care and treat them delicately because people never forget how you made them feel.

If you treat your clients/customers/community members with love, care, and devotion, they will most likely be your return clients and refer you to others because everyone likes to go back to peaceful and loving experiences.

I have forgotten the count of how many times my clients became my return clients and referred me to others, only because they enjoyed the experience of working with me.

Accept it’s all subjective: With art & business, you just cannot please everybody. It’s not worth it. There is no need to. Sure, strive to improve, but have faith that the right people will find your work, love your work, and won’t stop promoting it.

And haters gonna hate!

As an artist 🧑‍🎨 I’m often curious about things of beauty and their impact on our well-being.

When I scroll on Pinterest for unexpectedly long hours, make water colour paintings or seek out new essays on Substack.

I find comfort in the art, writing, literature, philosophy, books 📚

In simpler softer creations and narratives.

When I paint I like to loosen the grip of my surroundings and re-enter the world of fantasy. I transport to a new life-time, a new moment

When I read I desire to see through the eyes of the writer in both novels and non-fiction.

I desire to follow their life, experiment with my day to day life

And when I write I’m sure you know by now I write with care and consideration. No moment too small, no experience too insignificant — all of it will make it to essays in some way or the other.

As an observer I notice the gross environment I reside in where humans do not care how their action is affecting Mother Earth. 🌍 They pollute it, make her cry.

I have found myself no longer putting blame on them as they are far too busy and struggling to notice.

Drowned in poverty and addictions these humans are just trying to get by.

Finding beauty in the kind of environment I live in is a struggle.

If I was living in a countryside with mountains 🏔️ and lakes things would have been different, less population, pollution, and more wildflowers to get lost in.

But when you live in a gross densely populated and highly polluted small town India beauty isn’t something readily available to you.

Sure you can look up the sky 🌌 and witness clouds beauty but you cannot escape the litter.

As a young girl 👧 I didn’t get the privilege to grow up around beauty and abundance.

All I witnessed was violence, scarcity, poverty, and pollution.

I never questioned it until I travelled to cleaner, safer, beautiful environments.

When humans are fighting to survive they care less about beauty and more about just getting by.

Occasionally, I happened to meet people some within my own city while others in other beautiful location who prioritised beauty, kindness and tradition.

I would visit them and feel inspired by how they kept their houses 🏘️ or surroundings. The art pieces hung over the walls. The traditional trays for tea party or embroidered kurti and slippers they wore.

All about them would exude beauty and elegance

I would wish for my life to be like theirs, beautiful, poetic, art-filled. My heart longing to be living in those places. Staying a bit longer

But that wouldn’t last long and I would come back home again to chaos, drama 🎭 and ugliness.

I as an artist, writer and creator have turned my room into a sanctuary, painted it pastel pink and have hung dozens of floral art over my walls, doors, and shelves.

They build a nurturing moment for my day to day.

I will read, reflect, stretch, meditate, 🧘 while being surrounded by all this beauty.

I would pluck gorgeous flowers — rose, jasmine, petunia, lilies from my mothers garden and put them on my table vase.

I would make my mother crochet gorgeous table clothes, hang pink netted curtains, and put clean linen sheets on my bed.

My bedroom is my writing room with a big window 🪟 and a tree 🌳 nearby. Birds 🦢 like parrots and mynah often hangout around the tree and make me notice their existence.

I admire how free they are.

When I would be in love or longing for love I would notice pigeons in pairs kissing and caressing for each other.

Reader— I know this post isn’t supposed to feel heavy but my existence has been unfolding in such a way that I cannot escape and deny the distress.

Pigeons in pairs have caused me stress when I would witness my parents quarrel.

I undeniably would whisper to my heart if this is what love is supposed to feel like, I don’t desire it.

Fortunately, in my life, I have only experienced healthy love. 🧡 Men who treated me delicately and did right by me.

I in no way believe that love and beauty to find their way; the opposite must remain, but unfortunately, that’s the love portrayed to us by society and Bollywood movies.

It’s unhealthy, ugly and needs to stop being sold.

I can’t quite stomach the idea of living without beauty, peace, intention and charisma.

My heart and soul admire beauty, long for it, ache for it, create it, which then leads to me being soothed by it.

If it wasn’t for art, writing, 🖋️ and literature I do not believe I would have made it so far in life.

Beauty is neuroprotective and the more I create it the safer I feel.

Ways I am about to invite more beauty into my life this summer 🌞

Painting my face: Reader— I know perhaps you ain’t here for my self-admiration, but I drown in gratitude to the universe for making me radiant and blessing me with a pretty face. I long to make it prettier for fun, for art, whimsy and healing. ❤️‍🩹

Pinterest scrolling- Pinterest is my safe haven. It’s not quite like other socials with drama, noise, and negativity.

Pinterest is filled with beauty, art and inspiration and I do not mind scrolling this platform for a couple of hours on a day-to-day basis.

It’s safe and neuroprotective.

Watercolour painting: The morning hours are my best for watercolour painting. I feel more at peace with my paint during early morning or mid-afternoon hours. I would settle in pick my brush, paint and listen to whatever soothing music 🎧 may call for my creativity.

Decorating food 🍛: I remember vividly when I was in love and was sharing daily food pictures with my man, I would be putting in an extra effort in garnishing my food and making it look prettier just to show him, and it made the experience pleasurable.

Reader— I’ve made up my mind, I will be decorating food more often.

Creative journaling: Documenting my day-to-day and doodling about the events and experiences makes my journal beautiful and my day-to-day fun, which I will do each day.

Happy Monday reader, It never ceases to surprise me how much a memory can mean in time long since forgotten.

Be it a month or years long. I find myself aching and longing for it.

Trying to re-create it.

Cry about what’s gone, the past, the people, and experiences.

My heart shattered into pieces two weeks ago as I parted ways with my favourite person who loved me deeply without expecting anything in return.

My stupid brain 🧠 continued lingering in his fantasy about what could be or should have happened after him long gone.

It replayed the memories over and over.

I remember all feelings vividly as if it were moments ago.

The songs I listened, the outfits I wore, the exact words said.

Now I should probably apologise this feels like quite a heavy way to introduce a piece.

But I feel recently my world has been falling apart and I for once have found peace in the crumbling.

I don’t feel drowned in anxiety or like I wanna kill myself.

These months of late spring and summer — they seem monotonous and bring about emptiness

The rejection list is piling up from my potential clients and once again I’ve started to doubt my abilities to create, and manifest what I desire.

If he was still here he would have repeated I believe in you Aiman, I have faith in you now that he is gone it’s my turn to be my own cheerleader and believe in myself.

He would have stopped me from spiralling 🌀 and supported me in ways I couldn’t imagine but now he’s gone I wonder how to support myself.

How to bring back the self belief when physical reality expresses the opposite.

How to teach my brain 🧠 to imagine positive potential hypothesis when all it has known or ever lived in the worst case scenario.

I, as in the natural response for many, tend to shut down when things take an unexpected turn — I shrink, shying away from the world 🌎 with no desire to see another soul but that doesn’t serve me well.

Isolation expands my suffering and makes me wallow in negativity. I dare to pick optimism, courage, faith and community.

Best friends who listen to me rambling and express their hardships.

As humans, we will inevitably experience setbacks. Pain, worry, difficulty and loss can all arise when we least expect them — always when we don’t want them.

No matter the severity I choose to find meaning in them. I sift through the dust searching for fragments that might help me next time around.

I will make the connections, learn the lessons, and draw out conclusions.

My mentors told me losses hold loving lessons and how are we going to welcome new experiences as long as we hold on to what was.

In the span of one year I have experienced multiple losses and they taught me only one lesson and that is — better is on its way

This statement may not be 100% true and applicable in all scenarios however refusing to believe in it ain’t worth it.

My week has been fun as I stepped outta my comfort zone to meet my beloved bestie

I pulled out a pretty picture of a gorgeous white woman with pink hair from Pinterest for makeup inspiration, and my bestie did makeup over my eyes, and I felt very loved by her.

As her face came closer near my face I felt intimidated by her presence.

The ethereal pale skin, with a hint of acne, small nose left me in awe of her pretty beauty.

She was hesitated her eyes locked into mine with a mix of uncertainty, and curiosity. She felt self doubt wondering what if she would mess it up but her kindness and artistry made me not doubt her abilities.

I trusted her 🌸 I left my faith in her brilliance.

Lately, I’ve found myself drawn to the ritual of self-care and have started putting in an effort in my appearance, when the gentle strokes of makeup and the soft whisper of fabrics against my skin become a love letter to my own soul.

It’s as if, with each deliberate act of nurturing my inner world I’m awakening a deeper connection to the essence of my femininity, allowing me to bloom into the fullest expression of myself 🌸.

I love feeling feminine. Feeling relaxed. Like who I am!

This feeling is fleeting, it tends to go away but if and whenever it reappears I drown in gratitude and today was one such fine day!

When I felt like myself again!

I’ve this realisation that I’m very brave and develop the courage to share my heart and life with people who don’t always treat me well.

I develop the courage to step out of my comfort zone and meet people even though it’s hard.

My friends care a lot about me, make me realise what true unconditional love is, even though I ghost them sometimes they still care and show up for me.

The amount of love they shower me with sometimes ♥️ makes me cry.

Writing handwritten love letters on my birthdays, bringing me gifts, jewellery, cooking for me, making memories with me, making art with me, texting me on WhatsApp, checking up on me, letting me crash out at their homes 🏡 when I’m struggling.

Day after tomorrow I’ll be visiting her again and we will do a little picnic on her terrace with flowers 💐🌼💐🌺 as our companions that are growing there!

She has got petunias, cosmos, rose, orchid, pansy and heliotrope and I’m excited to sit with the flowers and her.

You see nights are incredibly hard for me one reason being I’m not fully recovered from the traumatic events I experienced instead I kinda re traumatised myself and they feel more real now!

Another reason being the intensity with which I experienced the traumatic events has caused me a backache so I struggle to sleep 💤

Time travelling to my ancestral lives!

Experiencing colonial fears and loosing time for days + having no one to hold you in those moments of deep fear and debilitating anxiety.

You literally feel unworthy to exist because of the patterns that get clear to you and how your ancestors /parents are creating misery for themselves even when there isn’t any!

How they have taken you for granted.

How they have mistreated you your whole life.

How conditioned their belief systems are.

How unconscious they are. How cruel the tone they speak with can be!

Now Ik it’s not totally their fault.

They are bitter because they are living in survival. They hate you because they didn’t develop the courage to live their desires.

They couldn’t be happy! The system didn’t allow them to be.

Their religious beliefs make them want to cling to a version of God that doesn’t exist.

I in no way hate my ancestors as they are the reason I’m able to taste life on this planet but undoing the harm is taking a lot from me.

When all my life I am made to feel my existence is a burden (by my own mother) how can I expect others to treat me well?!

When all my life I am made to suffer to get my needs met how can I expect things to come easy to me.

When all my life I am expected to do things I didn’t have the capacity for how can I find joy in responsibilities?!

I want dolce far niente

I crave the grass’s soft whisper, no worries, drama, just surrender 🌸.

Rolling over it and laughing with my beloved bestie.

I want to shower under the waterfall’s cascade, held by water’s ancient spirit.

I want to camp under stars, with barbecue scents, and twinkling heavens.

I want to wear butterfly clips, chase whimsy, and indulge in 10 hours of sunshine soaking - no demands, just being enough.

Happy Monday beloved reader, hope you are doing gooood and having a peaceful start to your new week.

I’m feeling incredibly relaxed and at peace coz just had a relaxing yin yoga session.

I feel grateful my disease 🦠 doesn’t bother me as much, and I show up for my body and care for her.

I love her a lot!

Even though society/family makes me feel like she isn’t enough, I’ve come to terms with how she looks like, feels like, smells like, and how much she cares about me.

I truly have a beautiful and resilient body!

Healing every wound, protecting me from any sort of harm, walking 🚶‍♀️, talking, speaking, thinking for me.

What a privilege it is to witness her beauty and magnificence!

What a privilege it is to be incarnated in this body and have this experience.

Every time I sit with her, I feel deep appreciation for her and her strength and resilience.

It’s a miracle to be born in this body and to have her care for me so much, even though I abandon her sometimes.

Recently, I’ve been learning to rest.

It’s a struggle because of the expectations that have been put on me by society/family.

I don’t do those. I let them hate me for not fulfilling their expectations.

I rebel. I rest, and I follow my heart.

Even though resting is a struggle sometimes because my nervous system is used to operating in overdrive.

I’m learning to rest. I’m learning to give my body the tenderness she deserves.

In my opinion, resting doesn’t always mean not doing anything.

I define rest as giving my body the tools and support for relaxation.

Here are the types of rest I’m doing to support her:

Physical rest: Scrolling is not resting and staying awake all night is def not proper rest.

I’ve been trying to sleep well and wake-up early. This is supporting me a lot!

Sensory rest: Yin yoga and Abhyanga relaxes my nervous system like no other tool can.

Whenever I am doing these and getting intimate with my body. I find those moments incredibly peaceful and healing.

Emotional rest: Boundaries are something I learned very later on in life. I used to feel guilty for not giving people continued access to me. Or I used to feel guilty for not fulfilling others unconscious expectations.

But not anymore! When I am boundaried I am able to show up from a place of love than resentment and this feeeling feels peaceful.

Creative rest: If you are my reader for long time yk how much I’m into craft, and hobbies.

I love getting lost in them, creating things make me feel alive. Recently I’ve been fascinated by eye makeup. Even though I suck at makeup I dream of doing them one day and learning them. I scroll on Pinterest for hours witnessing women’s beauty in those makeup.

This year I’ve made less water colour art but I hope to do more and I feel very grateful I get to relax and create. Watercolour art is the most soothing art form for me 🌸 but I guess I have lost my skills again which is fine as I’m more committed to other aspects of my life.

Actual rest: Didn’t I tell you scrolling is not resting! And nor does Pinterest scrolling. Even though getting lost in the beauty of Pinterest world is fulfilling it’s not rest and we are here to do actual rest. It’s boring. Your mind wanders into future/past but it is what makes our body truly feel cared for and rejuvenated.

I’m learning it and suggest you do to.

Happy Monday beloved reader

Entrepreneurship is chaotic, unpredictable, messy and requires constant and consistent evolution 😩 We know it.

We get on them sales calls 📞 they don’t always go as expected.

We create content, they don’t always bring in the amount of likes, comments/leads we are targeting.

We do outreach they get seen and ghosted 👻

So sometimes we as creators/entrepreneurs/service providers end up getting attached to the results.

I mean I did that a lot in my early years!

Every rejection hurt my heart and made me cry and crib but something within my heart told me to keep on going 🌸

To cry, embrace, fuck up, and start over and over and over!

To train my nervous system, body, heart and psyche to not take things personally and to move from alignment and peace.

Ngl the pressure of launches, rejections, bills, feedback, still overwhelms me and makes me go crazy sometimes but overtime I’ve realised to stop making my biz my only source of happiness. 🌸

Like I did that in the past!

Instead I’ve learned to find joy in other sources like art, nature, painting, pottery, reading, meditation, yoga, creative writing and flow!

In the past I was moving from emptiness!

What can I get outta my biz?!

How much 💰can I make?!

How fast can I get to those goals?

Now I move from wholeness!

How much love, creativity, whimsy, and intellect can I pour onto it?

How can I make the process my source of fulfilment coz it is……
