September brings us to the beginning of a seasonal shift. We are approaching the Autumn Equinox, when the hours of daylight and darkness become nearly equal and we begin our movement into the darker months of the year.

Balance is often spoken about as something peaceful, but balance also requires strength. It asks us to know when to move forward, when to hold our ground, what deserves our protection, and what is no longer worthy of our energy.

This month, my Spirit Guides have asked us to spend time with The Warrior.

The Warrior knows what they are willing to fight for.

Not every battle deserves us. Not every challenge requires our sword. There are places in our lives where we have exhausted ourselves fighting something that has already ended, and others where we have remained silent when something sacred within us needed defending.

September asks us to know the difference.

As the light and darkness move toward equal measure, I want us to look at where our own power is being spent. Where have you been giving your strength away? What have you been protecting? What have you allowed to cross a boundary because holding it felt harder than surrendering it?

The Warrior is not interested in conflict for the sake of conflict.

There is restraint within this archetype. Discernment. The ability to stand before something difficult without immediately attacking it or retreating from it. The Warrior knows that courage can mean taking action, but it can also mean saying no, leaving, waiting, speaking, protecting, or refusing to abandon yourself simply to keep the peace.

There may be something in your life that requires a decision. A boundary you know needs strengthening. A conversation you have avoided. A part of yourself you are ready to defend with the same ferocity you have offered everyone else.

Notice where your attention goes.

The Warrior is already there.

Awakening the Warrior

For this month’s intuitive practice, I want you to meet the Warrior before deciding what you need their strength for.

Find a place where you can be undisturbed. Sit or stand with both feet firmly on the ground and close your eyes.

Take a deep breath.

Invite your Spirit Guides to come close and ask them to bring forward the Warrior within you.

Wait.

Do not decide what the Warrior should look like.

Notice how they arrive.

They may appear as you. They may be younger or older, human or something entirely different. They may carry a weapon, an object, armor, or nothing at all. Pay attention to their posture, their clothing, their expression, and the way you feel in their presence.

Before asking them anything, notice where they are standing.

What is around them?

What is behind them?

What are they facing?

Allow the landscape to reveal itself before trying to understand it.

Now ask your Spirit Guides to show you what the Warrior is protecting.

Watch what appears.

It may be a person. A younger version of yourself. Your creativity. Your peace. Your body. Your home. Your voice. Your future. You may be shown an object, a place, an animal, or something you do not immediately understand.

Do not interpret it yet.

Ask the Warrior why this deserves their protection.

Listen.

Then turn your attention toward whatever stands before them.

Ask whether this is something you are being called to confront, something you need to release, or something that simply no longer deserves access to you.

Allow the answer to come through the Warrior rather than deciding it with your mind.

Now ask the Warrior to show you where you have been wasting your strength.

This may feel very different.

You may see an old argument, a relationship, an expectation, a fear, a version of yourself you are still trying to prove something to, or a battle you have continued fighting long after there was anything left to win.

Watch what the Warrior does with it.

They may raise their sword.

They may lower it.

They may turn their back and walk away.

All three can be acts of power.

Before leaving this space, ask the Warrior to give you one physical action you can take in your waking life to honor your own strength.

Perhaps you need to say something. Stop something. Begin something. Protect your time. Move your body. Make a decision. Remove something from your space. Ask for what you need.

Whatever you receive, write it down exactly as it was given to you.

If the action is safe and possible, complete it within the next twenty four hours.

Give the experience seven days before returning to the Warrior.

During that time, notice where your energy goes. Pay attention to moments when you instinctively want to defend yourself, moments when you shrink, and moments when you feel unexpectedly strong. Notice what your Spirit Guides repeat.

At the end of the week, return to the Warrior.

Stand before them and ask:

What deserves my strength now?

Listen carefully.

The answer may not be the same.

This September, I want us to become more discerning about where we place our power. Strength is precious. So is our attention. The Warrior reminds us that we are allowed to protect both.

As we approach the Equinox and light meets darkness in equal measure, consider the places where courage is asking something of you.

Know what you stand for.

Know what you protect.

And know when it is time to lower the sword.

Over the past month, I’ve found myself smiling during sessions for the same reason over and over again.

Someone arrives with a question they believe they need answered, and somewhere in the middle of our conversation I can feel the moment their attention shifts. They stop looking to me for the next piece of guidance because they begin hearing something from their own Spirit Guides. It’s subtle, but once you’ve seen it enough times, you never miss it.

That’s the moment I always hope for.

Every conversation we’ve shared this month has been an invitation to strengthen that relationship. The Healer has never asked you to become someone new. She simply asks you to trust the wisdom you’ve been building through your own lived experience. Every conversation with your Spirit Guides, every ritual, every symbol, every intuitive nudge becomes another thread woven into that relationship. Before long, you begin recognizing their presence in places where you once believed you were standing alone.

As August begins giving way to a new season, I’d encourage you not to think about what you’ve learned this month. Instead, spend a little time noticing what has quietly changed. There may be a question you no longer need answered. A decision that suddenly feels much simpler. A place you’ve been drawn to visit. A dream that continues returning. Those small shifts are often where Spirit Guides leave their fingerprints.

Intuitive Exercise: Spirit Guide Practice

Choose one morning before the month comes to a close.

Wake a little earlier than you normally would and resist reaching for your phone. Prepare a cup of tea, coffee, or whatever feels comforting, then leave your home before the rest of the day begins asking for your attention.

Find a place where you can walk without a destination.

Before taking your first step, invite your Spirit Guides to spend the morning with you and say,

“Show me something I’ve never noticed before.”

Then begin walking.

Walk without worrying whether you’re doing it “right.” If you feel like sitting beneath a tree for twenty minutes, stay there. If a path you’ve never taken suddenly feels inviting, follow it. If nothing extraordinary happens, let that be enough. Your Spirit Guides don’t need to compete for your attention. They know how to find you.

When you return home, write one page beginning with these words:

“Today my Spirit Guides revealed...”

Continue writing until you reach the bottom of the page, allowing the morning to unfold again as you remember it.

Fold the page and place it somewhere safe.

On the Autumn Equinox, unfold it and read it again. You may find that a conversation which seemed ordinary in August has taken on an entirely different meaning. Spirit Guides have a beautiful way of revealing their guidance in layers, and I hope this becomes one more conversation you’ll carry with you into the season ahead.

As our relationship with the Spirit Guides deepens, something begins to shift.

Life becomes full of invitations.

A flower catches your attention even though you’ve walked past it a hundred times. A stranger recommends the same book you’ve already heard about twice that week. A certain bird appears over and over again. A piece of music refuses to leave you. None of these moments need to be chased. They simply ask to be noticed.

I’ve come to believe that Spirit Guides are constantly placing small pieces of medicine along the path. Some are meant to comfort us. Others challenge us. A few won’t make sense until much later. Looking back, the trail often feels beautifully obvious.

August has always felt like a wonderful month to practice this way of seeing. Nature is generous. The earth is offering everything she has spent the season growing, and I often wonder how much medicine we walk past simply because we are looking somewhere else.

Intuitive Exercise: Spirit Guide Practice

For the next seven days, carry your phone or a small camera with you.

Every time something causes you to pause, take a photograph.

Don’t photograph what you think is spiritually significant. Photograph what genuinely catches your attention.

At the end of the week, print the photographs or lay them out on a screen where you can see them all at once.

Sit beside them with your Spirit Guides and ask,

“What medicine have you been placing in front of me?”

Don’t begin with the individual images.

Notice the patterns first.

Colors that repeat.

Shapes.

Animals.

Textures.

Places.

The conversation often begins there.

Years ago I stopped assuming that the first question someone asks is the one Spirit wants to answer.

A client may come wanting to talk about work while their guides spend an hour speaking about their grandmother. Another wants clarity around a relationship and leaves understanding why they haven’t painted in twenty years. Healing has a way of introducing itself from an unexpected direction, and I’ve learned to trust that.

The Healer knows there is wisdom in staying with the conversation a little longer. Rather than rushing toward an answer, she becomes curious about the thread running beneath it. One question leads to another until something that once felt disconnected begins fitting together in a way it never has before.

I’ve found this to be true in my own life as well. The things that have changed me most rarely arrived announced. They appeared quietly, returned often enough that I couldn’t ignore them, and eventually revealed why they had been walking beside me all along.

Intuitive Exercise: Spirit Guide Practice

Walk through your home and allow your Spirit Guides to guide you toward three objects. Don’t choose them because they’re meaningful or beautiful. Let your attention be pulled naturally.

Place the three objects on your altar and spend a few minutes looking at them together.

Ask your Spirit Guides,

“What conversation are you inviting me into?”

Leave the objects exactly where they are for seven days.

Each morning, sit with them for a few minutes before beginning your day. Resist the urge to interpret them immediately. Pay attention to what unfolds throughout the week. Dreams, conversations, memories, books, songs, and chance encounters often become part of the answer.

When the week comes to an end, write about the relationship between the three objects rather than each one individually.

Very often the medicine is found in what connects them.

One of the first places Spirit Guides speak is through the body.

I’ve watched guides point toward an old scar before saying a single word. They’ve drawn my attention to someone’s left shoulder, their knees, their throat, even the way they were holding one hand inside the other.

The body has its own way of keeping the story. It doesn’t speak through words. It speaks through sensation, recurring patterns, memories that suddenly surface, and the places that quietly ask for our attention. Spirit Guides have taught me to become curious whenever the same part of the body continues calling out, because there is often a conversation waiting there.

The Healer learns to notice those conversations before they become impossible to ignore. The invitation isn’t to diagnose yourself. It’s to become curious enough to ask why your Spirit Guides keep returning to the same place.

Intuitive Exercise: Spirit Guide Practice

Stand before a mirror with a single candle burning nearby.

Invite your Spirit Guides to join you and spend a few quiet moments simply looking at your reflection. Don’t search your body for something that needs fixing. Let your eyes settle naturally wherever they’re drawn.

When your attention lands somewhere, place one hand there and ask:

“Why have you brought me here?”

Stay with the conversation.

Ask another question.

Then another.

Imagine you’re sitting across from one of your Spirit Guides, allowing them the time to answer fully rather than accepting the first thing that comes to mind.

When the conversation feels complete, write down everything you remember. Images, memories, words, emotions, colors, symbols, even things that seem unrelated. Over the next few days, notice if that same part of your body calls for your attention again or if your Spirit Guides continue speaking through dreams, conversations, or synchronicities connected to what was revealed.

August has always been one of my favorite months to walk through a garden.

The herbs are ready. The bees know exactly where to go. Plants that have spent months quietly reaching toward the light are finally offering the medicine they’ve been growing all season. Long before pharmacies and laboratories, people understood there was a conversation taking place between the earth and those willing to listen.

I think our Spirit Guides work in much the same way.

Over the years, I’ve noticed they rarely prescribe what we expect. I’ve watched someone arrive hoping for a ritual only to be told to spend a week swimming in the ocean. Another was asked to bake bread every Sunday. One guide insisted their human plant jasmine outside the bedroom window before anything else could move forward. There have been prescriptions for laughter, silence, long drives with no destination, antique shops, writing letters by hand, taking pottery classes, sleeping with the windows open, and learning the names of birds.

None of it was random.

Each prescription was chosen because it belonged to that soul at that moment.

The Healer recognizes that medicine isn’t always found in a bottle. Sometimes it’s waiting inside a conversation you’ve been avoiding, a place you’ve been meaning to visit, or something you’ve quietly wanted to begin for years.

This week, I’d invite you to let your Spirit Guides write the prescription.

Intuitive Exercise: Spirit Guide Practice

Place seven blank slips of paper on your altar.

Without overthinking, allow your Spirit Guides to guide your hand as you write one word or phrase on each slip. Don’t decide what belongs there. Let it arrive. You may write “river,” “green,” “grandmother,” “paint,” “rest,” “fire,” or something that makes absolutely no sense.

Fold each slip and place them into a small bowl.

Leave the bowl on your altar overnight.

The following morning, without looking, choose one.

That becomes your medicine for the week.

Rather than asking your guides what it means, live with it.

If the paper says “river,” go find water.

If it says “bread,” bake it.

If it says “yellow,” begin noticing where yellow appears.

The prescription reveals itself through relationship.

August has long been known as the month of the first harvest. Across many traditions, this was the time when grain was gathered, herbs were cut and hung to dry, and gardens offered the medicine they had spent the entire season growing. Rosemary, lavender, calendula, mugwort, thyme. Each plant reached its fullest expression before the light slowly began turning toward autumn. Healers understood there was wisdom in paying attention to timing. Medicine gathered at the right moment carried a different kind of potency.

I’ve been thinking about that a great deal this month.

The Spirit Guide archetype we’ll be walking with is The Healer, and I can’t think of a more fitting companion for August. The Healer understands that healing is not something reserved for another person to administer. She knows how to listen to her own body. She recognizes when her heart needs tending. She trusts herself to gather the medicine her spirit is asking for and has the courage to return to it as often as she needs. She prescribes it, administers it, and honors the slow, beautiful work of watching it take root.

One of the questions I’ve been asking clients lately is, What has become your medicine?

The answers are never the same.

I’ve watched Spirit Guides prescribe time in the garden, afternoons spent painting, swimming in cold water, making bread, dancing barefoot, saying no, saying yes, adopting a dog, planting jasmine, calling an old friend, sleeping through the afternoon, or finally giving themselves permission to grieve. Healing has never followed one path because no two souls arrive carrying the same story.

August invites us to become curious about the medicine already growing around us and within us. You may already know exactly what your spirit has been asking for. The invitation is to trust it enough to begin.

Conversation with Your Spirit Guides

Find a quiet place to sit with your guides and ask:

“What medicine is my spirit asking me to gather this season?”

Write down whatever comes first without trying to organize or explain it. Return to your notes throughout the month and notice what continues to call your attention.

The Healer’s Spell

Fill a bowl with fresh water and add rosemary, lavender, calendula, rose petals, or another healing herb or flower that feels meaningful to you.

Hold the bowl in both hands and invite your Spirit Guides to bless the water with the medicine your body, heart, and soul are ready to receive.

Dip a clean white cloth or a natural sea sponge into the bowl. Beginning at the crown of your head, slowly wash your body, allowing the blessed water to touch your skin. Move with intention, taking your time as you make your way down your body. Let each touch become part of the ritual.

As you do, repeat:

I am healing my own heart.

I am healing my own soul.

With each touch I am cleansed.

With each touch I grow stronger.

With each touch I grow more bold.

When you’ve finished, carry the remaining water outside and return it to the earth. Pour it beneath a tree, into your garden, or wherever the land feels alive to you. Offer a quiet thank you to the plants, the water, the earth, and your Spirit Guides for walking beside you through another season of healing.

I’ll be thinking of each of you as we move through August together. May this become a month of gathering your own medicine and trusting the quiet wisdom that has always lived within you.

One of the greatest gifts I’ve received from walking a spiritual path has been learning how to experience life more deeply.

Seeking has changed the way I move through the world.

I notice details I might have once overlooked. I remember stories attached to objects. I feel connected to places that hold memories. Even ordinary moments have become more meaningful because I’ve learned to slow down and participate in them.

I don’t believe The Seeker’s greatest reward is finding all the answers.

I think the reward is discovering how much beauty, history, and significance already exist around us.

Years of working with Spirit Guides have only strengthened that belief. The unseen world has taught me that meaning isn’t reserved for extraordinary experiences. It lives inside family recipes, heirlooms, old photographs, handwritten notes, favorite books, and the stories we carry about the people we love.

Seeking has taught me that life becomes richer when we stop rushing past it.

As we close July together, I hope you’ll spend some time reflecting on what your own journey has given you. Perhaps you don’t have every answer you once hoped for. Most of us don’t.

But maybe your life has become more layered. Maybe you’ve become someone who notices beauty more easily. Maybe you’ve learned to value experiences that an earlier version of yourself would have missed entirely.

Those are gifts, too.

Intuitive Exercise: Building A Personal Museum

Choose five objects from your home that you would save if everything else disappeared.

Do not choose quickly. Allow yourself to walk through your space and notice what feels impossible to replace.

Once you’ve gathered them, spend time with each object and write down the story attached to it. You may discover that what makes something precious has very little to do with the object itself.

After you’ve finished, place the objects together and sit with the collection for a few moments.

Imagine someone encountering these pieces long after you’re gone.

What would they understand about the life you’ve lived?

More importantly, what do these objects reveal to you about what matters most?

I’ve always believed that our treasures tell stories about our souls. Sometimes they reveal parts of ourselves that we haven’t fully acknowledged yet.

One of the most unexpected things I’ve learned from years of working with Spirit Guides is that seeking eventually becomes a relationship.

When most of us begin a spiritual journey, we’re looking for something. We want clarity. We want understanding. We want to know we’re headed in the right direction.

Over time, though, something subtle begins to happen.

The search itself starts to feel less one-sided.

I’ve noticed this in my own life. The more present I become, the more I recognize that life is constantly inviting me into dialogue. Not necessarily through grand experiences or undeniable signs, but through moments that make me pause and pay closer attention.

A question I have been carrying suddenly softens after a conversation with a friend. An idea I’ve been resisting keeps finding its way back to me. A book I haven’t thought about in years somehow returns to my awareness at exactly the right moment.

Experiences like these have taught me that being a seeker isn’t about collecting answers. It’s about participating.

Curiosity opens the door. Presence keeps us engaged. Eventually we begin to realize that life has been responding to us all along.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons our Spirit Guides encourage us to remain curious. A conversation requires listening, and listening requires us to slow down enough to notice where we are being invited next.

As July continues, I encourage you to think about the questions you’re currently carrying. Instead of trying to force an answer, consider what would happen if you approached those questions as an ongoing conversation rather than a problem to solve.

Intuitive Exercise: The Question Walk

Before leaving your home, write down a question you have been carrying.

Fold the paper and place it in your pocket.

Take a walk without listening to music or a podcast. Resist the urge to search for an answer. Simply remain available.

Pay attention to overheard conversations, street names, animals, songs playing from open windows, or anything that unexpectedly catches your attention.

When you return home, write down three things that stood out.

Rather than asking, “What does this mean?” ask yourself, “Why did I notice this?”

I’ve found that Spirit Guides often work through our attention before they work through certainty.

I’ve been thinking about how interesting it is that we don’t always recognize change while we’re living through it.

Sometimes we notice it afterward.

A year later we realize we’re reading different books. Listening to different music. Asking different questions. Spending time with different people. The things that once felt important no longer carry the same energy, while entirely new interests begin making themselves known.

I see this often in sessions.

Someone will mention, almost in passing, that they suddenly feel drawn to herbalism, watercolor painting, mythology, or learning a language they have never studied before. Another person realizes they haven’t watched television in months because all they want to do is spend time in the garden.

I always find these moments fascinating.

Our lives are constantly changing, and our interests often change alongside us.

The Seeker reminds me that growth doesn’t always arrive with grand announcements. Sometimes it quietly reshapes what feels nourishing, inspiring, and alive.

As we move through July together, I invite you to spend some time noticing what currently feels alive in your life.

Perhaps it is something completely new. Perhaps it is something you’ve loved for years that suddenly feels important again.

Either way, trust it.

You may discover that your life is already telling a story you haven’t fully noticed yet.

Intuitive Exercise: The Living Altar

This week’s exercise comes from The Seeker.

Create a temporary altar dedicated entirely to what feels alive in your life right now.

This isn’t meant to replace your existing altar or Spirit Guide practice. Think of it more as a snapshot of your current season.

Over the course of the week, allow objects to find their way there naturally.

Perhaps a flower catches your attention at the market.

A quote from a book stays with you.

You frame a photograph you’ve been meaning to display.

A shell from a recent trip, a handwritten recipe, a feather, a color you’ve suddenly become obsessed with, or something you discovered during last week’s exercise all become part of the story.

By the end of the week, spend a little time with your Spirit Guides and ask:

“What story are we creating together?”

There is nothing to solve.

No right answer to uncover.

Simply enjoy the conversation.

Ever since The Seeker stepped forward for July, I have found myself thinking about fascination and the strange things that capture our attention throughout our lives.

One of my favorite parts of sitting with people year after year is watching what lights them up. Someone comes into a session wanting guidance about a relationship and before long we’re talking about birds, ancient civilizations, heirloom tomatoes, genealogy, herbalism, perfume making, or a country they’ve suddenly become fascinated by.

Over the years, I have learned not to dismiss those moments.

I have watched people reconnect with joy, purpose, family history, creativity, and even grief through interests that initially seemed unrelated to the reason they booked a session in the first place.

Sometimes the thing itself isn’t really the point.

The person researching their ancestors may be searching for belonging. The gardener may be creating a quiet place to process loss. The person collecting antiques may be preserving stories.

Curiosity has always felt like one of Spirit’s love languages to me.

I think The Seeker understands this well.

Some of my favorite memories have begun with a simple thought: That looks interesting.

Over the years, curiosity has led me into bookstores I almost didn’t enter, estate sales I nearly skipped, conversations with strangers, and lifelong fascinations that eventually became part of my work and identity. My love of Victorian history began that way. It wasn’t part of a plan. I was simply interested.

Intuitive Exercise: A Little Experiment From The Seeker

At some point this week, visit a place you wouldn’t normally choose. Perhaps it’s a bookstore section you’ve never explored, a train museum, a fabric store, a botanical garden, an antique mall, or somewhere you’ve driven past a hundred times without entering.

Before you walk inside, invite your Spirit Guides to join you and ask:

“Show me something interesting.”

Then simply wander.

Stay curious. Pick things up. Read labels. Follow your attention. Allow yourself to linger.

You don’t need to understand why something catches your eye, and you certainly don’t need to leave with anything.

Just collect the experience.

If something strange, beautiful, funny, or meaningful happens, tuck the story away.

July always feels expansive to me. Summer is fully awake. Gardens are overflowing, people are traveling, gatherings spill out onto patios, and the world itself feels a little more open.

This month, the Spirit Guide stepping forward from the Spirit Guide Portal Oracle Deck is The Seeker.

While channeling this Guide’s story and messages with Justin, who later painted their portrait, I was shown a memory from childhood. The Seeker spoke about spending hours digging holes with friends in hopes of reaching another world. Deep down, they knew they would never actually find it, but that never stopped them from trying.

I have always loved that story.

July feels like the perfect month to reconnect with that sense of curiosity.

Joy and curiosity are close companions. When we are joyful, we become more available to surprise, discovery, and possibility. We try the new restaurant, wander through the antique store we normally drive past, book the trip we’ve been dreaming about, or finally say yes to something that has quietly been calling to us.

The Seeker reminds us that curiosity is often one of the ways Spirit communicates with us.

Not every message arrives through meditation or through a dramatic sign. Sometimes Spirit speaks through fascination. Through the subject you cannot stop reading about. Through the place you suddenly feel drawn toward. Through the person you unexpectedly meet and immediately feel connected to.

The things that continue capturing our attention often deserve our attention.

The Medicine of The Seeker

The Seeker teaches us that curiosity is sacred.

Your desire to learn, wander, question, and explore does not disappear simply because you have become an adult. Curiosity often becomes the doorway through which Spirit introduces us to new experiences, new relationships, and deeper parts of ourselves.

The Seeker Exercise

For the next seven days, create a note on your phone titled:

Things That Keep Finding Me

Throughout the week, write down anything that repeatedly appears in your life. Symbols, animals, dreams, books, conversations, songs, colors, places, or subjects that seem to keep returning.

At the end of the week, read through your list and ask yourself:

“What relationship is Spirit inviting me into?”

Rather than looking for immediate answers, allow yourself to become curious.

Questions From The Seeker

• What are you searching for right now, and why does it matter to you?

• What signs or symbols have repeatedly appeared in your life lately, and what could they be guiding you toward?

• What part of yourself are you being invited to discover or rediscover?

As June comes to a close, my Guides keep returning to the image of someone standing at the edge of a field at dusk, fully aware they cannot return to who they were at the beginning of the month.

I do not think this month has been about dramatic transformation as much as it has been about becoming more honest with yourself. Honest about what leaves you feeling depleted. Honest about what still carries life inside it. Honest about the relationships, environments, desires, and identities that no longer feel emotionally sustainable.

There has been a strong feeling throughout June of people beginning to reconnect with parts of themselves they had slowly drifted away from while surviving, adapting, caretaking, overworking, or trying to remain emotionally manageable for others.

The energy around this month has felt deeply connected to movement, but not frantic movement. More like the moment roots have finally grown deep enough that change above the surface can no longer be delayed.

That is what the sunflower has continued representing for me all month.

It carries a kind of trust in growth that I think many people are trying to rediscover within themselves. Even after periods of grief, confusion, heartbreak, exhaustion, or uncertainty, the sunflower continues responding to warmth, nourishment, connection, and light. There is no shame in its desire to grow fully toward what sustains it.

I think many people entered June believing they needed clearer answers before making changes in their lives. What my Guides keep emphasizing instead is that clarity often arrives through participation itself. Through movement. Through allowing yourself to stop negotiating against what you already know internally.

There are people reading this who already understand what part of their life is asking to grow.

You may already feel where certain conversations remain unresolved or where your energy keeps returning to creative ideas, desires, or futures that still feel deeply alive despite every attempt to dismiss them. You may also recognize that some environments, relationships, or identities no longer reflect the person you are becoming, even if part of you is still emotionally attached to the familiarity of them.

The difficult part is not always uncertainty.

Sometimes it is realizing that remaining where you are has started costing more energy than moving forward.

My Guides keep emphasizing that many people have spent years standing at the edge of their own lives waiting to feel fully ready before stepping further in.

Summer does not feel interested in readiness.

It feels interested in participation.

Intuitive Exercise: The Sunflower Room Exercise

For this final practice, my Guides want you to change one room.

Choose one room, corner, shelf, or small area of your home that has quietly become emotionally stagnant. Somewhere you move through automatically without really seeing anymore.

The goal is not perfection or an expensive transformation. My Guides are asking for a visible shift in the atmosphere of the space so your body can begin experiencing a different emotional environment internally and externally at the same time.

Then spend an evening changing it in a way that reflects the version of yourself you feel trying to emerge.

Move furniture.

Open the curtains.

Bring in flowers.

Remove objects connected to older emotional versions of yourself.

Change the lighting.

Add beauty somewhere you normally withhold it.

Place something alive there.

Music.

Color.

Artwork.

Fresh sheets.

A bowl of citrus.

Anything that shifts the emotional atmosphere of the space.

My Guides kept emphasizing that many people are trying to change internally while continuing to live inside environments arranged around older identities, griefs, fears, or survival versions of themselves.

The body absorbs environment constantly.

Sometimes changing a space changes what becomes emotionally possible inside it.

After you finish, sit quietly in the room for several minutes without distracting yourself.

Then ask:

“If I fully believed my life was ready to expand, what would I stop tolerating?”

Write whatever comes forward.

Leave the room exactly as it is for the rest of the week and notice what shifts emotionally, creatively, spiritually, or relationally while living inside the new atmosphere you created.

My Guides showed me this exercise because breakthrough does not only happen internally. Sometimes the psyche needs visible evidence that we are willing to participate in our own becoming.

June has felt deeply connected to that threshold for me.

The moment where a person stops waiting for permission to inhabit their life more fully and quietly begins rearranging it from the inside out.

When I first began my journey with the dead in earnest, I needed a way to communicate.

It isn’t as simple as picking up the telephone and having a chat, although I often wish it were.

Communication with Spirit arrives in many different ways. A word spoken. An image delivered. The scent of roses drifting past when no flowers are present. Goosebumps. A pressure in the chest. A memory that doesn’t belong to me. Feelings in the body. Emotions. Symbols.

All of these things arrive together and then my work begins.

Interpretation.

This process is relatively easy when it is just me and my own Spirit Guides. We have years of shared experiences behind us. We can tumble through all of the senses together and find ourselves in conversations that reach far beyond what the physical eye can see. Which is probably fortunate considering none of us are relying on eyesight alone over there.

Over time, we built our own language together.

They know how I receive.

I know how they speak.

Like any relationship, our communication has deepened over the years. There are symbols that mean something only to us now. Certain scents announce specific Guides. Images that once confused me have become familiar landmarks. We have built that understanding together.

When it comes to clients, however, I need a doorway. Preferably a fast one.

I need a place where my team, the client’s team, and I can all meet and begin the conversation together.

So we almost always begin with what I call The Road.

Most of the time it actually appears as a road. Occasionally it becomes a river. Every now and then it turns into a path through the woods or a narrow trail cutting through an open field. Whatever form it takes, it arrives immediately through my third eye and becomes the place where the conversation begins.

Before we have even met, I begin gathering information.

I notice whether the road is straight or winding. I pay attention to whether it feels wide and easy to walk or so narrow that every step requires care.

Sometimes the client is standing confidently in the middle of the path. Sometimes they have wandered into a field to the right searching for something they misplaced years ago. Occasionally they are forcing their way through thorny bushes trying desperately to reach the future faster than life intends.

Some people arrive with backpacks and walking sticks, fully prepared for the journey ahead. Others have fallen into holes in the road and are trying to climb their way back out.

I might discover a bridge, a storm moving in, a companion beside them, or someone sitting beneath a tree refusing to continue until they understand where they are.

These images become our starting place.

Long before a single word is spoken, I already have a sense of the season of life someone is moving through and where our conversation might naturally begin.

Over the years, this simple image became part of what I now call my Language Key. It is a shared language developed between myself and my Spirit Guides. Not one built from words alone, but one built from symbols, feelings, scents, images, and experience.

I have continued adding to that dictionary ever since.

One of the greatest misconceptions people have about communicating with the dead is that they expect communication to happen in traditional ways. They wait for booming voices, dramatic visions, and undeniable proof while overlooking the quieter ways Spirit often chooses to speak.

Meanwhile, Spirit may already be communicating through dreams, songs on the radio, scents that appear out of nowhere, repeated animals, colors, memories, physical sensations, and feelings that seem to arrive from nowhere at all.

Your own language with Spirit will probably look very different from mine, and I hope it does.

Relationships with the dead are still relationships. No two are exactly alike.

One person may be deeply clairvoyant while another primarily feels Spirit in the body. Some hear words, some smell perfume, and some simply know things without understanding how they know them.

Your strongest clairs become the foundation upon which everything else is built. From there, your language begins to grow naturally. A symbol starts meaning something specific between you and your Guides. A particular bird becomes a sign. A certain scent announces the arrival of an ancestor.

Little by little, your own dictionary begins to take shape.

I am still building mine.

After all these years, I am still learning new words.

That ongoing conversation has become the cornerstone of all of my work with the dead and my ability to interpret and share what I receive.

What does it look like?

My Guides keep bringing me an image this week of people standing in doorways holding things they already know they cannot carry any further.

Not literal things necessarily, although for some people it may absolutely feel physical. More often it feels emotional. Roles. Expectations. Relationships. Old identities. Obligations. Ways of speaking about yourself that no longer reflect who you are becoming.

There is a strange kind of exhaustion that arrives when a life begins expanding internally while the external structures around it remain unchanged. I think many people are experiencing that tension right now.

You begin noticing how much energy it takes to continue participating in dynamics that no longer feel emotionally accurate. Conversations start feeling thinner. Certain environments feel increasingly difficult to return to. You realize you have been adapting to things that no longer deserve quite so much adaptation.

Summer carries a revealing quality spiritually. People are outside more. Visible more. Interactive more. There is less room to disappear into emotional dormancy. What has been quietly building beneath the surface throughout the year starts becoming harder to ignore once the world itself becomes more alive again.

The sunflower has stayed with me all month because it carries such a strong relationship to growth that does not apologize for itself. It grows toward what sustains it. It takes up room. It responds fully to the season it is in.

My Guides keep emphasizing that many people are beginning to recognize where they have remained emotionally loyal to smaller versions of themselves because those versions once felt safer, more accepted, more manageable, or easier for others to understand.

But eventually the container starts cracking.

Not because something has gone wrong.

Because something alive is trying to continue growing.

I think that is where many people are standing now.

Intuitive Exercise: The Doorway Exercise

For this week’s practice, my Guides want you to work with thresholds physically.

Choose a doorway in your home that you pass through often. A bedroom doorway, hallway, front door, closet doorway, or even the entrance to your kitchen. Somewhere ordinary that your body already moves through naturally each day.

On one side of the doorway, place three objects connected to emotional patterns, responsibilities, fears, or identities that feel increasingly heavy in your life. Do not overthink the symbolism. Let intuition choose.

On the opposite side, place three objects connected to what feels alive, nourishing, expanding, creative, restful, or emotionally honest for you right now.

For several days, pause each time you cross through the doorway. Pay attention to what happens emotionally and physically in your body while standing between the two sides.

Notice which objects pull your attention first.

Notice which side feels emotionally familiar.

Notice which side feels uncomfortable in ways that are revealing rather than harmful.

At the end of the week, stand in the center of the doorway and ask yourself:

“What am I continuing to carry simply because it once helped me survive?”

Then ask:

“What would my life feel like if I allowed myself to grow beyond it?”

My Guides showed me this exercise because thresholds are deeply symbolic spaces psychologically and spiritually. They represent the moment where one version of the self begins realizing it cannot enter the next season unchanged.

Throughout history, she has appeared again and again. In folklore, art, dream symbolism, and spiritual traditions around the world, the Woman in White has represented devotion, memory, intuition, protection, and the threshold between worlds. She is often seen as a keeper of stories, a romantic, a mourner, a mystic, and a reminder that love itself leaves an imprint. As you can probably tell from these photographs, a new adopted fashion piece has arrived and I am completely in love.

The moment I put her on, I understood why the image of the Woman in White has endured for centuries. There is something almost ceremonial about her. Something soft and romantic, but also deeply mysterious. She feels like she belongs to another time.

I first found her at one of my favorite vintage spots but missed the opportunity. Through what felt like absolute fashion fate, she found her way back to me. The moment I saw her again, I heard a voice softly say, "Dance with me." I knew immediately.

This Victorian darling wanted to be moved in. She wanted to be loved and worn again. She arrived yesterday, and I left her outside in the grass to clear beneath the afternoon sun. I sang to her as the evening settled in, and this morning I slipped her on and danced.

Danced and danced and danced. There is something deeply beautiful about objects that have lived lives before us. Garments that have witnessed celebrations, heartbreaks, conversations, births, losses, and quiet moments we will never know. Every beloved piece carries with it the memory of being adored.

One of the reasons I have fallen so deeply in love with adopting vintage pieces is that I genuinely feel them. I often wonder about their past stewards. Who wore them? What prayers did they whisper? What music did they dance to? Were they deeply loved? Were they tucked away for decades waiting patiently for someone to find them again?

I know that may sound unusual to some people, but I have always experienced clothing this way. Certain pieces feel joyful. Others feel shy. Some feel regal, playful, romantic, or quietly protective. Every now and then, a piece feels as though it has been waiting. Perhaps that is what has always fascinated me about the Woman in White.

She appears across cultures and spiritual traditions with remarkable consistency. In dreams and folklore, she often appears during periods of transformation and emotional awakening. In many traditions she is associated with devotion, mourning, purity, remembrance, and the presence of the ancestors.

In some stories she is viewed as a guardian of sacred places, while in others she appears at moments of great transition, reminding us that life moves in cycles. Within Hoodoo and many African diasporic traditions, white clothing carries sacred meaning. White garments are worn during prayer, cleansing work, ancestor reverence, and devotional practices. In New Orleans Voodoo and other traditions influenced by West African spirituality, white is often associated with purity, healing, blessings, and approaching the spirits with reverence. The garment itself becomes part of the ceremony. To me, the Woman in White has always felt like a symbol of devotion.

She reminds me that beautiful things carry stories. That love leaves traces. That memory can live inside objects. That being a steward to something beautiful for a little while is its own kind of sacred responsibility. As I continue adopting more pieces into my life, I suspect this conversation with clothing will only deepen. After all, #everythingismagic. What do you feel from her energy?

The image of the sunflower continues following me this month, but my Guides have shifted what they are emphasizing about it.

At the beginning of June, the feeling was about movement returning after stagnation. Now the conversation feels more connected to readiness. The moment where something internally has already changed, even if your external life has not fully caught up yet.

I think many people are standing inside that space right now.

You can feel yourself becoming less available for certain dynamics, conversations, habits, or environments, even if you have not fully acted on those feelings yet. There is a growing awareness around what nourishes you and what depletes you. What expands your life force and what quietly flattens it.

Summer always carries this feeling for me spiritually. The world becomes louder, brighter, more alive, and harder to hide inside. Things become visible in summer. Desire becomes visible. Loneliness becomes visible. Creativity becomes visible. So does avoidance.

The sunflower keeps appearing because it responds fully to the season it is in. It does not remain emotionally loyal to winter once the environment has changed around it.

That feels important.

I think many people are realizing they have spent a long time remaining emotionally loyal to old versions of themselves. Versions built around survival, people pleasing, fear of failure, fear of visibility, or fear of disrupting what has become familiar.

My Guides keep bringing up the phrase “threshold behavior.” The strange emotional territory where a person begins sensing change approaching and suddenly becomes exhausted, distracted, emotionally reactive, overly nostalgic, or uncertain. I think this happens because part of us understands something is ending while another part is still trying to preserve the familiar structure.

There is grief in becoming.

Even when the becoming is beautiful.

Intuitive Exercise: The Sunflower Path Exercise

For this week’s practice, my Guides want you to create a physical pathway. If you have access to outdoor space, wonderful. If not, this can be done just as powerfully in an apartment, bedroom, hallway, or living room.

Bring seven small objects with you. They do not need to be spiritual objects. In fact, my Guides seemed very clear that ordinary objects are better because they carry real emotional texture. A receipt from somewhere meaningful. A key. A piece of jewelry. A flower petal. A photograph. A note. A stone.

Place the objects in a loose path several feet apart from one another.

Before walking the path, stand still for a few moments and think about one part of your life that feels ready to change or expand, even if you are not fully sure what comes next yet.

Then slowly walk the path.

At each object, pause and allow yourself to notice whatever memory, feeling, image, or realization surfaces naturally. Do not force meaning onto the experience. Let your mind wander a bit. Let the body respond first.

When you reach the final object, look around you carefully and ask yourself:

“What part of my life is asking for more space, light, or movement right now?”

My Guides showed me this exercise because breakthrough often begins through physical participation. The body understands transition differently when we allow ourselves to move through symbolic space instead of only thinking about change intellectually.

June feels less connected to forcing answers and more connected to becoming honest about what is already beginning to bloom internally.

You notice yourself feeling anxious before certain conversations. Relief arrives when plans cancel. Certain spaces leave you feeling heavy while others make you feel unexpectedly calm or energized. Some people expand your nervous system. Others constrict it immediately.

June continues carrying strong energy around movement and breakthrough, but this part of the month feels connected to recognizing where your life force is actually going. My Guides keep emphasizing that many people are standing at the edge of important change while still trying to convince themselves they are “fine” remaining where they are.

The sunflower continues appearing because it responds honestly to its environment. It turns toward what sustains it naturally. I think many people are beginning to realize how disconnected they have become from their own instinctive responses after years of survival, performance, over-accommodation, or emotional exhaustion.

There is also grief in this kind of awareness. Sometimes the body reveals truths that disrupt familiar narratives. You realize a relationship has been over for a long time emotionally. You realize a dream you abandoned still hurts. You realize you have been shrinking yourself in subtle ways for years.

That awareness can feel vulnerable, but it is also movement.

Intuitive Exercise: The Chair Exploration

For this week’s practice, my Guides want you to work with physical sensation and intuitive response.

Place two chairs across from one another in a quiet room.

In one chair, sit as your current self. In the chair across from you, place a situation, relationship, opportunity, decision, or version of yourself that you have been struggling to understand more clearly.

Spend several quiet moments in your own chair first. Pay attention to your breathing, your shoulders, your chest, and the overall feeling inside your body.

Then switch chairs.

Sit in the second chair and notice what changes physically and emotionally. Pay attention to your posture, your nervous system, your breathing, and the emotional atmosphere surrounding you.

After a few minutes, return to your original chair and ask yourself:

“What did my body understand before my mind was willing to acknowledge it?”

Write whatever comes forward without overthinking or editing it.

My Guides showed me this exercise because clarity is often relational. Sometimes we understand ourselves more honestly when we physically place ourselves into different energetic positions and allow the body to respond before the intellect explains everything away.

The image my Spirit Guides keep bringing forward for June is the sunflower.

I’ve been thinking a lot about why.

Sunflowers carry so much symbolism around vitality, abundance, truth, confidence, and the relationship between growth and light. There is something deeply alive about them. They grow tall, they take up space, and they instinctively orient themselves toward nourishment. My Guides keep showing them to me as a symbol of momentum returning after periods of exhaustion, confusion, grief, delay, or emotional heaviness.

June feels like a month where many people may begin feeling movement again in areas of life that have felt stagnant for a long time.

Not necessarily because everything is suddenly resolved, but because something inside of us has grown tired of remaining compressed.

There is a strong feeling around expansion this month. Around allowing yourself to want more. More honesty. More visibility. More creativity. More connection. More life.

I also think many of us have become accustomed to negotiating with our own growth. Shrinking desires before they fully form. Talking ourselves out of opportunities. Staying loyal to versions of ourselves that no longer fit simply because they feel familiar.

The sunflower doesn’t do that.

It keeps turning toward what sustains it.

That feels important right now.

My Guides keep emphasizing that breakthrough energy is not always dramatic when it first arrives. Sometimes it begins quietly through a growing intolerance for what no longer feels aligned. You start noticing where your energy drops. What feels forced. What feels too small. What conversations leave you drained. What dreams keep returning no matter how many times you try to dismiss them.

There can also be grief in growth.

I think that’s important to acknowledge.

Outgrowing old versions of yourself can feel disorienting, especially when those identities once kept you safe, loved, accepted, or understood. Expansion asks us to release certain loyalties. The loyalty to staying hidden. The loyalty to remaining palatable. The loyalty to fear dressed up as practicality.

June feels like a month where many people may find themselves standing at the edge of decisions they have been circling for a long time.

The Guides keep showing me sunflowers because they do not ask permission to bloom where they are planted. They respond to life fully. They trust the movement toward nourishment.

There is wisdom in that.

The Sunflower Practice

My Guides offered a simple practice for the beginning of June.

Find a sunflower and place it somewhere in your home where natural light enters the room. Spend a few minutes beside it each morning or evening during the first seven days of the month.

Leave your phone in another room.

Sit quietly and simply observe the flower.

Notice where it faces.

Notice where the light enters.

Notice what direction your own body naturally wants to turn toward.

Then ask yourself:

Where in my life am I being asked to move toward greater truth, nourishment, visibility, or expansion?

Afterward, physically turn your body toward the light source in the room. Even slightly. Let your body register the movement.

The Guides showed me this as a practice of reorientation. A reminder that we are allowed to move toward what brings us alive instead of remaining loyal to what keeps us small.

June feels less interested in perfection and far more interested in participation.

In showing up.

In responding to life.

In allowing yourself to grow toward what is calling you forward.

There is a difference between waiting for life to change and beginning to participate differently in your own becoming.

I think June wants participation.

Not urgency.

Not performance.

Not forcing.

Just willingness.

A willingness to stop treating your desires like inconveniences.

A willingness to stop delaying the conversations, creations, decisions, and changes that have been tapping at the door for months.

A willingness to trust that growth often feels unfamiliar before it feels natural.

The sunflower keeps turning toward the light even while it is still growing.

Maybe that is the invitation for all of us right now.

You’ve been in motion with something this month.

It returned, you felt into it, and you made a decision about whether to meet it again. From there, you began to move with it in a more direct way. By now, there is a clearer sense of what has substance and what doesn’t.

What remains has been shaped by your attention and your action.

There is a difference between thinking about something and stepping into it. Once you engage with it, the energy around it changes. It either deepens, or it loses its hold. That clarity is part of the process.

This is where things begin to settle into place.

You don’t need to define everything or decide exactly where it is going. What matters is recognizing what is now real in your life because you chose it and moved with it.

That recognition creates a kind of stability.

It allows you to continue without second-guessing every step. It gives you a clearer relationship to what you are building and what you are no longer carrying.

At this point, the work is not about starting again.

It’s about acknowledging what has already begun and allowing it to take its place in your life with intention.

Intuitive Exercise: Night Sky Sealing

Step outside at night, or stand near an open window where you can see the sky.

Give yourself a moment to arrive. Bring to mind what you chose to begin again this month and feel it as something already in motion rather than something you are trying to start.

Let your body respond first. You might shift your weight, take a step, or feel an impulse to move in a certain way. Follow that without planning it. Let the movement come from your body instead of directing it.

Stay with it until a rhythm begins to form.

As your breath deepens, speak out loud. Use your own words. Name what you are continuing, what you are committing to, and what you are ready to hold now. Let your voice carry it clearly enough that you can feel the impact of saying it.

When that feels complete, bring in your support. Call to your guides, your ancestors, or whatever energies you work with and let them witness what you have set in motion.

Stand still for a moment and take in the feeling of that.

Let it land in your body before you step away.
