This past decade has been a whirlwind of new experiences, hard lessons, beautiful moments, and plenty of laughter. It’s the decade I started SW, birthed Amalia, and dove headfirst into the kink community. I’m so grateful to every person that has witnessed, nurtured, and challenged me these past ten years. Aging is a strange and beautiful thing, and I don’t take any moment of it for granted. I hope you don’t either.

I’m so excited to share more about an event I’m organizing as part of my work with Decrim NY! Read on for details…

WH⭐RE PR⭐M is a collaboration between Decrim NY and Kink Out Events: part fundraiser, part dance party, together an ADULTS ONLY prom with a heart of gold, a joyous convening of NYC’s SWer community. All the money raised at this event will go directly to Decrim to help us in our fight for decriminalization. This is an event open to everyone who loves SWers—allies, fans, and supporters are very much welcome (just open that wallet and make it rain on us!). There will be raffle items (including a fun offering from yours truly), free on-site STI testing, and some extra special fun in the lower level of the event space. Decrim NY Giving Circle

As most of you know, for the past few years I have been an organizer with Decrim NY, an organization dedicated to passing legislation in NY state that would decriminalize adult, consensual sex work. To keep it real: we have a long road ahead of us in winning the fight for decrim, and we don’t currently have any institutional sources of funding. We rely heavily on fundraiser events and community donations to keep the work we do going. Earlier this month we launched our giving circle, which is a form of collaborative fundraising where community members pool their money on a monthly basis to donate to a cause they care about. If you care about SWers and want to support us but don’t know how or don’t have the time to organize, setting a monthly contribution through the site is a great way to support the cause! The site we use is secure and the only thing that will show up on your bank statement is “grapevine.org”, so rest assured you can give privately (you can also choose to use a nickname when you donate). If we have sessioned before or if I have positively influenced your life in any way, it would be very meaningful if you contributed to the circle—even a few dollars a month helps us out! Looking Ahead

After coming off a bustling spring into summer, I’m planning to take some time off in July and August to travel, rejuvenate, and rest up for what’s going to be a very busy fall (exciting announcements to come!). I will have limited availability for the next two months, so I encourage you to book ahead before my schedule fills up. I am prioritizing double sessions, long liaisons and overnights, heavy bondage scenes, medfet, and heavy corporal scenes. May 21st marks the five year anniversary of Amalia being born. Similar to those petals in that dense bud, I’ve felt myself unfold in a myriad of ways on this journey, but only now do I feel like I’m starting to blossom, five years after planting those first seeds. Birthing a persona is a strange type of alchemy, living somewhere in the midst of authenticity, marketing, and aspiration. She is my creation, and yet, she is an idealized—even unattainable—version of me. I have the privilege of sharing a body and a brain with her, but she still likes to keep secrets from me. With each year that passes, she slowly shows me more of who she is, though she doesn’t unfurl until she’s ready (what a tease…). She is a mirror, reflecting and refracting desire, forcing us to turn inwards and excavate those difficult parts of ourselves. It’s nearly impossible to hide your true self under her sharp gaze. I think of her less as a parasitic twin and more of a symbiotic cohabitant.

Stepping into her, sharing skin with her, is a privilege. In many ways, I stand alongside her admirers, in awe of her power, intelligence, charisma, and self-assuredness. What a gift to stand in her light! In other ways, I feel like a submissive in relation to her, bowing to her power, chasing after her in an endless psychosexual game of cat and mouse where she’s just out of reach, always outsmarting me. Spending so much time in proximity to her has taught me many things, namely what it means to step into power—to really understand the stakes when someone’s life is literally in my hands. She teaches me that desire is a muddled and messy thing, an opaque miasma with flashes of electric clarity that light up the whole body when you’re lucky enough to brush against it. She knows how to disinfect a dungeon in less than 30 minutes, how to tie a corset, how to suture a wound, and how to win over even the most curmudgeonly sub with her cheek and charm. A true renaissance woman if there ever was one.

As much as she represents everything I aspire to be, she also represents the parts of me that become all-consuming, the ultimate expression of my id-like drive to work more, hunger more, desire more, more, more, more, more until she self cannibalizes in a beautiful and destructive ouroboros. I offer her balance. I know when to walk away, when to shut the laptop, when to hang up the whip and take off the heels. I know when to spend an evening laughing with my friends, when to lounge in bed reading a book, when to watch a movie. I love her and she loves me, and we coexist in a constant, complex, wonderful negotiation. We share custody of a body, and remind each other that life really is all about balance.

She has given me so much over these five years together, and I feel a warm gratitude towards her. I look at the peonies and feel a sense of hope for what’s to come.

Adventures in Amalialand

The past month has consisted of plenty of devious play, lots of yummy food at incredible restaurants, and some fun travel, all with subs that I adore and cherish. A highlight was a trip to Providence with my good boy, where we ate our way through different cuisines (including some of the best pies I’ve ever eaten thanks to Babes Pie Co), perused museums, and dug through amazingly curated antique shops. We even stopped by the local queer-owned sex shop to pick up some kinky toys, which we put to good use. I love traveling with trusted subs and co-creating a little world away from the city that we can get lost in together—it’s some of the best quality time!

This April, I’m returning back to my scholarly roots by attending two multi-week courses: Sado-Masochism: Economies of Desire and Recognition offered by the Brooklyn Institute of Social Research and The Whore Singularity: Online sex worker rights movement histories, pornographic presents, and whoretopias offered by the School for Poetic Computation. I spent most of my life in intense academic environments, constantly measuring my self-worth against my academic success. After years away from school (and a good helping of therapy), it’s so nice to return to collaborative learning environments without the weight of grades. I’m curious to see how these courses impact my relationship to my work and to my sessions over the next few weeks. Valentine’s Day <3

My namesake day snuck up on us this year—I hope you didn’t forget to make your loved ones feel cherished, despite the chaos of, well, everything happening around us. I’ve been ruminating a lot on what it means to show up in life from a place of radical love. Everyday, I’m trying to perform a special type of alchemy in which I transmute the love I have for my friends, my subs, and myself into love for my communities (and vice versa). My life is, inherently, a relational one—for many of us, we would be nowhere without the people supporting us, from our close friends to the guys at the local bodega making our food. Now is the time to get invested in your communities—start a group chat with the folks in your building, join a neighborhood mutual aid group, befriend the postal worker that brings you your mail. Through small acts of care and compassion, we build a stronger bolster against the rising tides of fascism. I, The Archivatrix

If you’ve been following me for the past few years, you’ve probably noticed that I love books (an understatement), especially ones related to kinky history, s*x work, and FemDom. As a trained archivist, I believe in the power of historical preservation as a form of resistance against cultural marginalization and digital deplatforming. I’ve always collected books that interested me, but in the past year I’ve made a concerted effort to cultivate my collecting, making it an intentional practice with a focused scope. Thanks to help from my devoted book bitch, I’ve been able to collect some really special, rare pieces. Hudson Valley Shenanigans

It’s been a while since my last dispatch! I have to admit I’ve been stuck in the slowness of winter hibernation, and only recently have begun to emerge and get myself acclimated once again with the outside world. I’m sending this update in between sessions with lovely subs in Boston, one of my favorite places to tour.

For me, the beginning of the year doesn’t quite start when the calendar changes to January; instead, I like to follow the cadence of the natural world. Despite having been in hibernation mode the past two months, I’ve still had a lot of fun with my subs and friends. Reflections on Folsom St Fair

In September, I attended Folsom Street Fair for the second time and I somehow had even more fun that I did last year. Walking around the fair with my leather family, seeing (and performing) public sex acts, and being unabashedly kinky reminds me of why I chose the life that I have—queerness and pervertness is resistance to all of the horrible things that my friends and communities are constantly fighting against. It can be so disheartening to constantly live in fear of losing basic human rights, but it’s places like Folsom that remind me why we fight, and what queer utopia can taste, and feel, and smell like.

Adventures Down South

I recently returned from a weeklong road trip with my dear friend Parker Penn aka The Villainelle and our sweet sub cookie, who showed us around Austin and New Orleans. We ate amazing southern food, shot guns, shopped for cowboy boots, visited an alligator sanctuary, and roadtripped through the south. I crossed off so many bucket list items, but it only made me want to come back to the south ASAP. I loved my time in Texas, and am considering doing a tour there sometime in 2025. Parker and I also had a blast at DomCon (my first time!). I met new people, attended plenty of informative classes, and bought a new whip (which needs broken in 😉). Next time Jade, Parker, and I are in the same city, I’d love to do a group session together!

Eclipse Musings

Perhaps it was the eclipse this week (I was lucky enough to be in a spot where there was total coverage—I can’t put into words how moving and awe-inspiring the experience was), but I’m trying to find more ease within the inevitability of life changes and letting go of the habits and dynamics that don’t serve me. I find myself coming back to this specific quote from Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower, one of my favorite science fiction books,

All that you touch

You Change.

God is Change

For others who have had a challenging eclipse season, I hope this passage resonates and brings a bit of solace. The more I ruminate on these words, the more I try to place them in the context of my work as a Domme. When subs come to me, my hope is that through our time together, they feel changed—transformed through a cathartic encounter. I hope to guide them through new, perhaps even uncomfortable or painful experiences, and in the process, create a container where they feel held in their vulnerability. My favorite sessions are the ones that deal in the worst of human emotions: pain, anger, frustration, trauma, sadness. What happens when we hold space for the messy, difficult feelings in the context of BDSM? How can kink be a vessel of change in which difficult emotional states are transmuted into lessons of resiliency? Whether it’s in a session or in life generally, I hope we can all sit in those uncomfortable moments more, perhaps even make peace with them, and feel the weight of their fullness while understanding that they, too, will change. For better or for worse, nothing is forever.

On the theme of change, I have quite a few upcoming tours planned for this spring and summer!

I’ll be in Boston from May 9th-12th! I’ve really been enjoying coming to Boston every few months and playing with familiar and new subs alike. Finally, I’ll be visiting Chicago from August 14th-17th with one of my best friends and utter evil genius, Empress Wu! I missed visiting one of my favorite cities last year so I’m thrilled to be visiting again and wreaking havoc with one of the best of them! More details will be released as we solidify our plans but if you can’t tell by now, I’m a planner, and I appreciate when eager subs reach out to show their devotion in advance.

Beyond the Dungeon…

As many of my friends and devoted subs know, I lead a very active and busy life when I’m not terrorizing people in the dungeon. Recently, I’ve started organizing with Decrim NY, an organization dedicated to decriminalizing, decarcerating and destigmatizing the sex trades in NY state.

In May, a large group of sex workers, lawyers, organizers, and allies are heading up to Albany to lobby our political representatives for their support of the Stop Violence in the Sex Trades Act, a bill which would comprehensively decriminalize adult, consensual sex work in New York state if passed. This would be a huge milestone in our fight for SWer rights, and our hope through this upcoming lobby day is to convince more representatives to endorse the bill so it has the chance of passing in the next legislative session. It takes a lot of money to bus, feed, and generally organize dozens of people to get upstate—it would mean a lot if you could give to our fund so we can continue to do this important, life-saving work!

As we begin to crawl our way out of the depths of winter, I’m reflecting on the delightful and busy February I’ve had. February has a reputation for being a desolate month devoid of fun and full of cold weather. Personally, I’ve always loved the month because of my namesake day, and because February feels like the final hurdle of the winter. In February, spring starts to tease us with the promise of warmth and rebirth.

Month in review

This has generally been an extremely fun and busy month for me—I’m feeling energized for the imminent springtime blossom 💐

I feel very lucky that my February started out so positively with a trip to New Orleans with a beloved, longtime sub and my dear Domme friend The Villainelle. I’ve been to NOLA before, but never during Mardi Gras, and it was a TIME! I about ate myself into a coma, traipsed around town in revelry, got to attend some fun events (queer wrestling anyone?), and dressed up as an evil nun to perform some decidedly non-copacetic exorcisms (at least by the standards of the Catholic church). All-in-all it was a magical trip. I’m craving more travel this year in the form of Fly-Me-To-You or Fly-Me-With-You trips. I find that traveling deepens the bond between Domme and sub, and allows us to get to know one another on a meaningful level that can’t be accomplished through a session alone. A Month for Lovers 💌

As the days get shorter and the summer heat begins to wane (quickly, I hope!), I’m settling into a delicious, fall routine. I found this summer to be a particularly taxing one, emotionally and physically, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t relieved the fall is descending upon us, day-by-day.

Lately, I’m partaking in more dinner dates, planning fun kinky shenanigans to terrorize friends and lovers, and channeling my newfound, post-summer energy into fun and fulfilling sessions with beloved submissives. I’m also looking ahead with excitement to upcoming tours in new and familiar cities.

Summer Reflections and Looking Ahead

This summer was one of continuous kink education for me; in particular I was able to deepen my medfet skills. Thanks to an amazing cadre of NYC based Dommes and educators, I’ve taken these skills to the next level: I’ve learned new techniques for playing with needles, administered saline injections, stapled genitalia, advanced my scalpel and scarification techniques, and most importantly, completed an intensive class on blood-borne pathogens to ensure I’m playing with the highest safety standards in mind. Another fun undertaking this summer was working with Veil Machine, an artist collective comprised of some very incredible, very smart Dommes. They hosted a multi-day performance art intensive for sex workers and I had the honor of collaborating with them on ways to ethically document and archive the project. I’m in the process of organizing the physical and digital materials that were produced from the intensive, which will hopefully be used by Veil Machine in the future to inspire art-making and performance projects. It’s been a joy to cut my archival teeth on projects that are close to my heart. I aim to continue to put my archival skills to use for the communities I’m part of: sex workers, queer people, and kink/leather community. Our histories matter, and we deserve to have our stories captured in ethical and responsible ways. If you’re a part of any of these communities, my door is always open to archive-centric collaboration!

I may only be in my second year of Professional Domination, but I’ve felt a sense of exponential learning and growth this year. It’s been a joy to take my practice to the next level, travel to new places, and build deeper roots in leather community. The year is far from over, but I’m hopeful, inspired, and energized to see what the last few months of 2023 will bring.
