I feel SO, SO thankful for this summer. The boys have matured enough so it isn’t as chaotic or stressful, more-so memorable and fun. THESE are the days I think I’ll remember the best because I’m able to do life right alongside of them instead of under them AND I’m more well rested and taken care of.

We’ll be running full steam ahead until school starts, with fall being one of our busiest seasons. I hope you’re enjoying the end of summer, no matter what season you are in.

Wearing: I have been loving this green jacket for transitioning to fall! Jackets are always great to have for completing your outfit and layering.

I’ve had less time to watch/there are less reality shows on right now. Most viewing time goes to the Brewers right now. I’m excited to watch the season finale of the McBee Dynasty this afternoon while I lift.

ACTUALLY using: Speaking of audiobooks - this shower speaker has been a great addition! Whether you like to listen to music or audiobooks in the shower - this little guy is awesome.

Pick of the week: I grabbed the new version of Nike Air Max in the perfect neutral shades. They have a wider toe box than the previous model I had before. These are my long time favorite pairs of Nike’s!

If you know Drew, you know big of a deal this is for him. This has truly been his Superbowl, and it’s been so exciting to see if finally come together! The outside of our house finally looks like a home. 🥹 I hadn’t realized the difference that green grass would make compared to seeing dirt everyday. It’s a dream!

We don’t have our summer nanny for the end of this week, and we are headed into our town festival weekend. Does anyone else live somewhere that does this? There’s a softball tournament, amusement rides, fair food and a parade. It’s a super fun weekend for our family anddddd we’re about to head into a family vacation week. So things are full and busy around the Kiefer household!

This game/toy is not only fun, but a great way to practice hand-eye coordination. You toss it in the air, and call out a color. Your kid has to try and catch it on that color! Simple, but lots of fun.

My new lounge-set from Aerie is SO comfortable, I want to live in it. It comes in a few different color options, I grabbed it in light blue. This brand runs big and oversized, so I do size down one.

1. Mad Mabel- In my top 3 favorites books I’ve read (listened to) this year. The audiobook was so fun - the narrator is an old Australian woman and makes it really entertaining to listen to!

2. Game Day Bracelets- My friend was wearing this stack of bracelets at our sons baseball game, and they were so cute! I grabbed a set for the upcoming football season in our team color.

3. Running Shorts- These are more of an athletic looking running short! Super flattering cut, pockets and great length. I love the color I grabbed (wine) and lots of other options, too.

Wearing: These jelly pool slides that I wear ALL. the. time - not just for the pool. They do run small, so I’d size up.

Reading/watching: I just finished the book Dolly All the Time and I highly recommend it! It’s a fun summer read that is perfect if you don’t have the brain capacity for something serious. With that said, I am now starting Broken Country, which I’ve heard is the opposite lol. Abby gave it 5 stars so I’m going to give it a shot!

I haven’t been watching much reality TV lately because our internet has been out.. but I did just finish the City Reunion, which is worth the watch IMO!

ACTUALLY using: I recently shared these cooling towels and you guys all loved them! Great for long tournament days in the sun.

Pick of the week: Random, but this under the sink mat is awesome. Protect the inside of your cabinet from water and material stains with this rubber mat!

We FINALLY have a weekend at home. Max has a baseball tournament, but I’m excited we’ll all be waking up in our own beds on Sunday. A slower Sunday sounds exactly what we need. I just finished this audiobook and I inhaled it! I loved this storyline, the banter, and all the twists and turns that happened. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for your next good read!

There are a few things at play: our kids are two years older than when we first had a summer nanny. This has made all the difference, especially for our big reactor. I KNOW this nanny has an easier job than the one two year ago. AND, kids really connect with people that show interest in THEIR things. Our nanny is athletic and loves to play, so she is always participating in things with them. This is the perfect fit for our family.

I’m even more excited for summer now! This weekend, we’ll be celebrating Cole’s 7th birthday and I can’t wait. We’ll make him feel as special as he is!

We had a little bit of a sports break between the end of basketball season and the beginning of baseball (just Saturday flag football). This week, we’re back at it! Baseball is in full swing for all 3 of our boys and Drew is helping to coach 2. It’s unfortunate, but all 3 kids play on the same nights this year- so we’ll be running around and needing some help from teammates. As I’ve mentioned, Drew and I love it and we’re happy to do it. We both want to be at everything we can be, so we’re ready to run and catch as much baseball as we can.

We’re right in the mix of all of our kids participating in sports. Wanting it to be a positive experience for them. Helping them build resilience when they have a tough game. Celebrating them when they make themselves proud. Loving them no matter what.

I’m so excited because my in-laws are coming to our new house today. Drew’s mom still works for a small town CPA, so tax season is her busy season. We see them a ton outside of tax season, so we’re excited to have them back.

Tomorrow is the boys’ spring concerts. It’s beyond adorable and I look forward to it every year. I can’t believe it will be the last time that they are all in elementary school together before Max moves onto intermediate next year.

Other than that, we have Max and Trey’s first spring flag football game on Saturday and our niece’s birthday party. I adore these weekends that are heavy on the family plans.

Reading/watching: I am full in on the Summer House investigations and drama. I am here for it, it is wild to watch it through this new lens we have!! The other show I’ve been watching is Real Housewives of Rhode Island. If you’ve never watched RHW shows or Bravo, this is a great one to start with since there’s only a few episodes out. There’s hardly ever a chance to get in on the ground floor. They are getting great reviews/praise and it’s been super entertaining so far!

Sorry about the accidental break, lol. Our kids were on spring break last week and the employee that keeps me accountable to this was in Florida.

Although the Wisconsin weather has more ups and downs than the Summer House scandal, I can feel my season depression leaving my body. It’s almost like, I should live somewhere more temperate. But alas, my ancestors and family have decided this is the place.

We’re SO enjoying our new house and neighborhood. The kids have spent so much time outside with the neighborhood kids, running between houses and the park. It reminds me of my childhood in the best way.

We moved, unpacked, worked, got the kids used to their new bus routine, had basketball galore since I last wrote. It has been a whirlwind, but I feel so, so grateful.

Drew and I had owned our other house since 2014. We bought it as newlyweds and brought all of our babies home there. It was an extremely special place to us. One thing that helped me immensely with the transition is who bought it. They were the perfect couple to take it over and start their family there.🥹

Our family has adapted so well to our new house. I couldn’t believe the boys slept so well and in their beds all night. Everything just feels so right, we’re so happy. Bring on warm weather and I’ll really be floating, lol.

3. Sunrise Alarm Clock- This has helped my boys to wake independently, which has really helped with our morning routine. No app needed, gentle sunrise to wake and they know to get up and get dressed. I can’t say enough good things about it!

We close on our current house TODAY! We’re SO excited for the new home owners. If you ever think that writing a letter with your offer won’t make a difference, I’m here to tell you that I loved theirs. It absolutely pulled at our heart strings in a really good way.

We then close on our new house NEXT Friday. We will be busy little bees with the move and everything it takes to get to the finish line.

FUNNY TIMING, because I am going on a work trip between these events. I almost never travel for work, but had a really cool opportunity come across my desk that I couldn’t pass up. I’ll get to be in person with some really amazing business people. Sometimes in life, you just have to say yes EVEN if the timing could be better. Sunday I fly to L.A.- tune into my stories to see if I get as lucky as last time and meet a Vanderpump Rule’s star or maybe even a Real Housewife.

We’re at the precipice of so much change, but still a couple weeks from moving into our new house. Now that our current house sale is through all the hoops you have to go through (inspection, appraisal, etc)- we feel comfortable taking the next steps toward moving. We’re starting to sell some of our current furniture and we’ll start to pack soon.

We had a sick little guy this week. Which always throws things off, but I’m really grateful that we’ve had a really healthy year so far. Just a little blip in the road. I hope that you are all staying well.

Now, we’re able to keep the ship pointed in the right direction. My in-laws no longer have to come, and I feel very capable of handling things on my own. The boys have been really sweet to me this week and we’ve navigated really well.

Of course, we’re so excited to have Drew back. It’s clear how helpful he is to keeping our family running when he’s gone. He does SO much for me and the boys, so we’re incredibly lucky. It was also tender to see how much the boys missed him and how sweet the FaceTime check ins were.

This month is really full for us. I have a work trip coming up, we are MOVING into our new house, and we have basketball galore. I hope that you guys are having a good start to February.🤎

I’m excited to go on a little mom/son date with Max tonight before the even colder temps arrive. All 3 boys are growing like weeds and his toes are almost curling in his shoes at this point. He REALLY wants to pick out his own shoes and I think I might take him to Chik-fil-a after we pick them out. It’s a parenting strategy Drew and I love to use, every once and a while being able to be with just one of our kiddos.

I’m also praying sports aren’t cancelled this weekend because it does get us out of the house and helps get some energy out.

Funny story: we signed the contract during the 4th quarter of the Packer playoff game. So we had an incredible high and then an incredible low (Packer lost). That’s how life goes, obviously the house high will impact us for longer.☺️

Life will be full for the next couple months. We’re extremely committed to making sure we only bring the things we USE and LOVE to our new house. We’ve done so much work, but I’m excited to keep decluttering drawers and cabinets to meet that goal.

But honestly? It went so well. As a mom of school agers, I think ONE important thing to remind myself is that the long breaks aren’t as hard as they used to be. When the boys were little, every single day was so physically and mentally demanding. That is NOT where we are anymore. Now, they can go sledding for a few hours, come back and have a hot chocolate, and then we can watch a family movie. IT IS MAGIC.🤎 Whether you’re ahead of me, or behind me- I hope you are finding little sparks of happiness in your current season.
