SIGNS: Spirit Confirmation from Loved Ones.

There are two ways of thinking when it comes to communication from the dead.

1. There is the View from Science:

There Is No Physical Evidence. Science requires tested proof that a dead person can communicate or move objects. And there is no apparatus founded by scientists that can gauge it.
Psychological Explanation. Psychologists say that feeling the presence of a deceased person is a normal part of grief. It is something a grieving person feels when they miss someone who passed away. (Hence, no physical proof.)

2. Or Sensing Unusual After-Death Communication

Dream Visitations. Very vivid and realistic dreams with a deceased loved one who offers reassurance, to say goodbye, or show that they are at peace.
Sensory Encounter: Hearing footsteps, a sense of touch, fragrance or temperature change.
Electrical and Physical Signs: Flickering lights, electronic devices turning on or off, or finding objects like coins and feathers.
Spirit Animals or Special Numbers: To see recurring numbers or noticing birds, butterflies or dragonflies.

I not only believe and understand that there is communication from passed loved ones, but I also have personal proof.

(Perhaps you may remember this story from a previous journal)

I was working on the computer a few days after his passing, the pole lamp that he had used in his reflexology office started flickering. When I asked was it him, it stopped.

[a little back story] My husband Charles (who passed away in March this year) had always been able to affect electrical things. When he walked into a room, the sound on the television got lower. He could never wear watches. After a short period, they would stop. He ruined some expensive watches over the years.

This has been known in metaphysical circles as the Slider Phenomenon, or Street Light Interference. His personal body energy aka ‘high voltage syndrome’ could act as an unintentional EMP (electromagnetic pulse). I banned him from getting too close to my computer because his presence would wreak havoc with it.

His aura was expansive and strong. You could feel him coming before he entered a room. And when he did come in the room, his energy filled it.

A few weeks ago, in the middle of the night I was wide awake, and the light in the kitchen flickered on and off. I asked if it was him and it stopped.

I had been organizing a garage sale. A few days before, his brother was in the garage going through the fishing poles and gear. None of the light bulbs in the garage were working. The light switch didn’t work. All at once, the idea came to me that a breaker might have clicked off. And could that be connected to the garage? My brother-in-law said it might be, so I went downstairs and checked. Yes, a double breaker was off. I flipped it back on and the lights came on. Then as he was selecting fishing poles, one light bulb started flickering. He thought it was the switch or wiring and looked concerned. I said, ‘don’t worry, it’s Charles. He does that to me in the house all the time’. Then it stopped.

Are You a Modern-Day Mystic?

As I grew up in a Methodist household, I had the notion early on, that the concept of ‘mystic’ or ‘mysticism’ was connected to creepy and unreal things or even woo-woo. That it was used to make scary movies. And not based in reality. In those days (1950s and 1960s) moviemaking was created around fantasy. They used whatever means they could to create a frightening atmosphere, building suspense along the way. This usually included a deep dark forest, a young girl that is being chased and plenty of mystical fog.

So, I became scared of the unknown. Strange dreams woke me up screaming, I saw frightening figures outside my bedroom window at night. And was positive there was a bad witch (donned in a black cape and pointy hat) sitting right in front of my parent’s bedroom door. It took a long time for me to outgrow or understand so many things in my early years.

Maybe you had similar experiences. Maybe you were given the wrong idea of what ‘mysticism’ is, planted in your mind at an early age too. That’s why I want to share my understanding with you.

I’ve divided this up into three areas: Mysticism, Mystic and Modern-Day Mystic.

First, I want to talk about Mysticism.

This is a full concept that encompasses many systems that can be used to connect with the Divine (or All That Is, God/Goddess, Universal Subconscious, etc.). These systems include religion, prayer, meditation, yoga, somehow knowing that there is a spiritual pathway to directly communicate with Spirit and the all-knowing spiritual truth.

At this point, many of you might think that it is blasphemy to say you can communicate directly with God. That there must be someone of higher spiritual rank to be an intercessory, to speak for you, or even interpret what God says. I say, “pooh”.

Mysticism is ingrained within us, at the deepest part of our spirit. It is a natural thing to know that God is within each of us, and it is natural to strive to know that part of ourselves. That striving is the thing that opens our hearts to a spiritual awakening. It is a journey. Without it our lives would be meaningless.

As we begin opening our hearts to inner mysticism, we begin to have direction and purpose.

Share A Mystic's Journal

Now I’ll address the Mystic.

A Mystic is someone who knows they can achieve true understanding in the mysteries (unseen things) of the world or ordinary, third dimensional life. It is someone who reaches for intuitive knowing or even spirit communication (Mediumship or Channeling).

It is someone who prefers peace and love instead of controversy. You probably have suffered a deep, sorrowful experience that changed your inner core. You are more compassionate. You have had moments that transcend time and space – if only for a moment. You’re not sure how it happened but want more.

The Mystic can strive to reach these mysteries and still, perhaps be a religious person. And/or a spiritual person. Or even someone who questions religion. It is entirely an Inner Work.

And now, The Modern-Day Mystic

The Modern-Day Mystic dances to the beat of their own drum (The Inner Path). To the Modern Mystic, religion and any other structured belief system is closed and confining. You know that the spiritual path is one of understanding, instead of belief. Understanding allows for the mind to expand and recognize other factors that might not have been seen before. You prefer a self-created spiritual path.

Having been more compassionate and seeing the world in an open way, you have become empathic to your inner self and that of others around you.

But I think the main thing that describes a Modern-Day Mystic is the need to reconnect with Nature. Knowing that if we really are All One, then we share the Light and Vibration with our Plant, Animal, and Mineral Relatives.

Walking on the ground barefoot is the most assured way to initiate this. It helps you to re-wire your physical, mental, and spiritual self to not only ground yourself, but to center your being. (More on grounding and centering in another journal entry).

So, living in the world today, and implementing your Mystic Powers helps you become all you can be. And helps the world in general to accomplish what needs to be.

Over the years, I have noticed that people who are interested in using their intuition/psychic abilities or even mediumship will talk about lifting the veil.

How to Lift the Veil and See Clearly

I’d like to talk about that. Just what does it mean to lift the veil?

When we are still in Spirit (before incarnating into this world) we are aware of all things. Especially the things we need to do to advance or allow ourselves to raise up our energy field.

You know, coming into the physical world and experiencing life here, is the best and fullest way to grow spiritually. So, we tend to plan our entrance into a difficult or complicated environment. Then we can grow.

But when we enter into a life, all that knowledge is hidden from our third-dimensional selves. We are coming into the world blind.

This is what we mean when we say we enter was a baby with the veil. Everything we knew we were going to do and accomplish before incarnation is stripped from us.

How do we wake up?

What we do not always realize is that our guides and guardian angels are with us to wake us up. To see what is to be done. We also have wonderful sensors within us (clairvoyance and her sisters, intuition and psychic abilities) to guide us.

So, to say that we are totally blinded is a misleading.

Quite often we receive excellent intel from our guiding forces. But we are so inexperienced that we shake it off as being Ego or thinking it must be our imagination. And ignore it.

But what might really be going on is that your guide or spirit team is downloading information that you can use! Maybe you have not practiced ‘receiving’ information from Spirit, so you dismiss it.

During spiritual development, we try to ‘see clearly’ and lift the veil. We are able to understand feeling vibrations, picking up on symbols, and recognizing when our guides are close to us. These are times we can become familiar with, to feel comfortable with and embrace the Spirit Connection.

There are times that we let life get in the way. We allow our job or friends and obligations cloud what is really under the veil.

What can you do to access what is under the veil?

Here are some ideas I have that might help you open to your guides and use information that they send you.

🌠 Sit quietly just after waking up in the morning for only 5 minutes. Imagine yourself lifting a net veil up over your eyes so you can see around the room. What can you see? Don’t expect anything etheric, but just your regular stuff in the room. Take note of it.

🌠 During the day, while working, stop for a minute and listen. You might hear things around you like a fan, cars driving by outside or co-workers shuffling their paperwork. Focus on those 3-D sounds. Don’t try to hear spirit sounds.

🌠 Now. Truly see in your room when you wake up … Not just imagination. But try it when you could be looking through a veil. How does that look? Can you see clearly? or partially? You really are seeing things, but you cannot see the whole picture.

🌠 Finally, the next time see yourself looking at the things in your room without the veil. You can see everything without distraction or coverup. You can see them clearly.

This is only a practice in the third dimension. It is meant to exercise your ability to become aware. To focus.

This is how you will see from the spirit side. You will clairvoyantly ‘see’ things. All it requires is your focus. Taking the time to allow yourself to see these things. As you practice these several steps in the third dimension, you will start to slide into other awareness.

Know that the more you keep the veil, you are saying to your guides that you are not available to connect with them. But by practicing the removal of the veil, you are inviting your spirit team to work with you in a more intimate way.

If you want to actively work with mystic development, you should have a conversation with your guides. Let them know that is what you really want. And then spend the time to do it.

It does not require intense, long periods of time. Make it easy. But keep it regular.

People who are afraid of paranormal or mystic work try to keep us all in the dark. Or afraid to see truth. And they make things look scarier than they are. By using the term Lifting the Veil, they are telling you that there is a barrier between here and there. That there is a definite cutoff that should not be crossed.

That is not the truth. We as humans have never been disconnected from our Spirit. And we can access it at any time we wish.

I hope you are able to lift the veil whenever you want to.

The Seance Room: What to Expect and Who is There

I remember going to Seances at the spiritualist church in town. This was in the 1980s and we had recently started going to this church.

My husband, Charles and I were fascinated with Spirit Work in all forms but really had no idea what we were in for.

Going to my first seance, I was so nervous and honestly, my hands were shaking. I felt all giddy and shaky inside.

We had been told by the minister that it would be dark inside the séance room. But we just weren’t ready for it being THAT dark!

The small building with one large séance room was built with no windows. There were two ways out (front door and back door). When everyone came in and was seated, someone took large blankets or towels and stuffed them around the bottom of each door so there would not be any light sift through.

The edges around each door were set with insulated weatherstripping, so the door was shut tight. You literally could not see your hand in front of your face. It was an eerie sensation. And took some time to get used to it.

Any light being introduced during an old-fashioned séance could be detrimental to the Medium and possibly the other participants.

Who Participates in a Séance?

The quick answer is the Medium, their assistant, the sitters and of course, Spirit. Let’s break it down

The Medium (and their assistant)

I guess it would be obvious, but the first person participating in a séance is the Medium. This person usually has been in a separate room or place keeping away from the others. Possibly in prayer or meditation.

The medium has someone who assists them during the séance. They are with them the whole time to make sure everything goes well with no mishaps. They make sure the lights do not turn on and no one gets near the medium.

The Medium must remain completely independent of everyone. And must not be touched or interfered with in any way. While they are in trance, the physical element must remain pristine.

Mediumship involves cooperation between a living person and a spirit person from the Spirit Realm. This entails either communication of some kind or physical manipulation of energy. Mediumship is divided into two categories: mental (communication) or physical (energy manipulation).

Mental mediumship is communication by thought transference from the spirit to the medium. This information is communicated and spoken by the medium, usually instantly. Information is brought to the medium as feelings, words, thought forms or impressions.

How clearly the information is relayed depends on how deep the medium is under control: the deeper the control, the purer the information.

Mediumistic control has to do with the connection made by the spirit with the medium, using a combination of mental and physical energy. The bond or link is made by the two through the consciousness of the medium. The control is determined by the strength of the link. It can be a strong or very light link.

If the link is a good one, having been practiced over time, different levels of trance can be manifested. Since spirit information flows through a living mind, with personal emotions, it could become clouded with personal influence by the medium. So, the deeper the link, there is little interference.

If the Medium was giving a Physical Trance Séance, there is a special drape or trance closet prepared for them to sit in. There would be physical phenomenon exhibited during the session.

Transformation of Energy

Physical mediumship is accomplished by using physical energy, usually while in a deep trance. The spirit manages the transformation of energy into physical objects, movement or sounds. A paranormal event occurs in the physical, and can be felt, heard or seen by the living.

This physical form of mediumship is probably the most unusual demonstration of what a spirit entity can do through medium control. Unfortunately, there have been far too many contrived and deceitful examples of the séance event. Because of that, many people discredit the entire concept of mediumship.

The spirit entity in control of an evidential séance uses both mental and physical energies of the medium to create a physical manifestation, something all those sitting in the séance as participants in the experience can witness.

The physical medium has an abundance of electromagnetic and etheric energy (human energy field, part of the aura which is rich with human emotions) emanating as part of their aura/energy field. Usually, while the medium is in a deep trance state, the spirit being uses this etheric energy and creates ectoplasm.

If you have ever seen the movie “Ghostbusters” or any ghost laden, scary program, you have seen a filmy or cloudy emanation around or coming from an entity, spirit being or ghost. This is the best representation of ectoplasm available.

A medium can facilitate physical phenomena because there is an abundance of this etheric ectoplasm. This is a part of the subtle energy body that allows us to operate as humans. In a physical medium, this subtle body is more loosely attached than in most people. {More on this in chapter 3 “How You Can Talk to Heaven (and How You Can’t)” in my book Psychic Integrity).}

The Sitters (yes, really)

Although the medium’s etheric energy is the main source for the event, usually more is gathered from the sitters (séance participants). If the energies are plentiful, a large amount of ectoplasm is formed to work with.

The use of personal auric energy is the main ingredient for this operation to be successful. It requires the full attention of everyone in the séance. This is why the sitters in the séance not only experience the event but literally become part of it. It can be a very dramatic demonstration of energy manipulation by spirit.

The sitting participants must know that total respect of the proceedings is paramount for a successful seance. If they do not believe the possibility of phenomenon, they will pull down the vibrations needed. They must remain quiet at the start of the seance. But when engaged by the Spirit Host, then the sitters are encouraged to participate in the event.

Greeting Spirit as they come into the seance is very important since it encourages the activity and generates more energy. Also responding to questions and acknowledging the presence of various spirit guests that may join in.

The spirit is now in control of energy transformation and can manipulate the ectoplasm to produce phenomena.

Spirit Beings

There is no limit to what can be done through physical mediumship, as long as the proper conditions are held in the séance room. These physical phenomena can range from rapping, levitation of objects or people, flickering lights, independent writing/painting, direct voice, trumpet vocalization, and partial or full materialization of spirit bodies.

The Trumpet. Spirit can communicate through a spirit/phantom voice box. The voice box, or ectoplasmic larynx either attaches to or ‘floats’ within a trumpet and serves the purpose of communication separate from the medium.

This way the weak voice whispers can be amplified.

As a megaphone styled ‘trumpet’ it is usually fashioned as a metallic (aluminum) cone shape. Since spirit may only whisper instead of coming through the medium’s own voice, it materializes a spirit voice box with ectoplasm within the trumpet.

As a witness in many séances during my years in the Work, I have seen a light show that would rival any rock concert! I have seen apports (objects materialize out of thin air) in full view during the daylight. It truly is amazing what can be done during spirit control.

I have even been gifted several apports during private seances. They are very special items that I keep.

Mediumship, or communication with deceased loved ones, can be very healing to those of us who are left here on earth. The person going through a grieving process may need evidence to prove there is life after death, and reassurance that the loved one really is alright. There is a re-uniting of what appeared to be separated. Then closure begins.

The spirit also has a real need to connect with their living loved one to let them know all is well. There is a reaching out by both parties to recognize that the bond has not been broken, just transformed.

Then the spirit of the deceased loved one has an opportunity to share the experience of transition. This gives comfort with the knowledge that death does not end life but creates a new expansion of what life really is.

Why is it important to have physical phenomena? If the spirit mind (and we all have a spirit mind) can transform matter, then the same intelligence can transform other areas of life to manifest the world we know we could have. Information is shared by many metaphysical teachers about the Law of Attraction and Manifestation. Physical phenomenon is another form of evidence to validate manifestation.

Take Note: It is important to understand that trance can interfere with the energetic balance of other people, animals, plants, spirits, and the natural world. Therefore, you must approach the order of the universe with respect and selflessness.

Understanding the Full Extent of Spirit Communication

Intuition, Empathy, Psychic Abilities (including Clairvoyance and its sisters) are not the same as Mediumship or Being Mediumistic. They all are connected with present-moment third dimensional awareness. All forms of Mediumship have to do with other dimensional awareness: Spirit World. However, you can still have all these qualities while being a Medium. Hence, many Mediums refer to themselves are Psychic Mediums. Those qualities are blended in their abilities.

So. This article might step on some toes. And I do so very delicately. Because I do not want anyone to feel badly. I am not pointing fingers, but I will be pointing out certain differences. There are many levels of mediumistic abilities. But I do want everyone to understand about mediumship. The old-fashioned, true deal.

If there is a newer version of mediumistic work, then we need to call it something else. (Gee, I feel like I am already getting close to someone’s toes!)

Having been a certified spiritual medium since the early 1980s, I know from personal experience and years of sitting in a spiritual development circle refining and expanding the gift.

This article will be showing 2 major differences. One is randomly connecting with those in the spirit world. And the other is learning to connect with the higher levels of the spirit world. And knowing how to assess whether you are communing with a spirit of high vibrations, or one that is tricking you to think you are.

First Version - Being Mediumistic

I have met several people (and more very recently) who have always had mediumistic abilities. You notice I did not say they were mediums. Because being a medium is very different than having the ability to be one.

One woman claims to be a “natural, born medium”. In particular insists that the only true medium is one that is born that way and has never had any training. (What? I understand that we ALL are born with the ability!) She even has tried to discredit those of us that spend many years of training, study and practice to fine tune our gifts.

Here’s an Example: Let’s say you have two young girls living in your neighborhood. Marge and Susan are both six years old. They both love to stand on the stage at school and sing. Whenever Marge has a chance, she participates in the school choir to stand on the stage and sing. (Sometimes it sounds good, sometimes not.)

However, Susan starts going to other places to sing too, such as church events, birthday parties, school plays, etc. As Susan grows a little, she asks her parents to let her take singing lessons. She gets better and begins to understand how to control her voice. Then she studies music in college and over many years becomes a vocal artist.

Marge and Susan both had the ability to be singers. Susan studied and worked at it to control the ability and become the singer. Marge stayed where she was without ever growing - she still had the ability but had not refined it.

Developing mediumship requires time, hard work, study, and patience. There is nothing instant about developing mediumship. It is an ongoing process, requiring considerable practice and study. It does not manifest after a weekend intensive with certificate of completion. There is a certain integrity that comes after years of study and practice.

Having a “natural predisposition” and connecting with your first spirit entities, or seeing and hearing spirits, as a young child is a good start. But this does not give you the ability to understand how to assist others in dealing with their problems in a consultation. You still do not know what to do if you connect with a lower entity. The responsibility is huge when it comes to this work.

Second Version - True Mediumship

Sitting for unfoldment (or development) is essential for becoming a True Medium. Look for a circle at a spiritualist church or in metaphysical bookstores. If you can’t find one, you might like to create your own circle for friends of like mind to sit with you.

There are many experiences, scenarios and practices that will help to perfect your ability. It’s important to work with a mentor or teacher to recognize what to do in certain situations you have not yet experienced. Even well-established mediums continue to study and be guided, consulting with their mentors on a regular basis.

It’s important to learn and practice the techniques of presenting and delivering information you receive from spirit communication. Connecting with a deceased loved one is only the beginning of understanding the process.

Handling certain experiences should be learned in class, not with a live client. It takes fierce commitment to responsibly enter someone’s personal space.

Mediumship does not happen overnight. It takes time to develop, fine-tune your abilities and time to understand the complexity of what is happening. Be ready to make a commitment to yourself to work on the gift for as long as it takes.

Do not rely solely on an unfoldment (spirit) circle each week to develop your gifts. Study on your own. Read as much as you can to continue your spiritual growth. Connect with other mediums and form a coffee chat. It has been said that there is no final completion to mediumship, but a constant learning and growing.

The best mediums know how to work with their ego. Take time to clear your personal baggage. By becoming a channel for Spirit, you can build a strong relationship with your Spirit Guides.

So, to develop into a strong medium, you must do like Susan did when she wanted to be a singer. She did everything she could to learn to control her gift and experience as much as possible.

Investigating Mediumship is a fascinating thing. It is a serious activity and needs so much integrity to work with people.

There are so many ways to use this gift. Platform work (James Van Praagh, Tyler Henry, etc.) or using it to compliment social work or psychology clients, giving private readings or incorporating it into many businesses, and holistic healing, etc.

Several years ago, I read the book, Origin, by Dan Brown. You may remember him with several other novels (The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons and The Secret of Secrets). I have been fascinated by the first two, which I saw in movie form. But when he came out with Origin, I felt like reading it. When I bought it, I did not know it was largely about Artificial Intelligence. I thought it was just about religion. But it centers around the questions of science and religion, looking for the origins of man.

An eccentric billionaire and futurist Edmond Kirsch developed an artificial intelligence named Winston to ultimately discover where do we come from and where are we going.

The AI, Winston, is so deeply integrated into human lives and acts as a trusted friend, guide, and protector. It was constantly predicting and arranging the future needs of the characters of the story.

Kirsch is killed and Robert Langdon (along with his sidekick) team up with Winston to find a cryptic password that will unlock and reveal Kirsch’s presentation. Of course, it is a fast-paced thriller. And Artificial Intelligence is intricately woven throughout the story.

I started the novel with my already formed opinion of AI. But by the end of the story, I questioned my opinion. I wondered could AI really be beneficial to humankind? So, this heavily researched article is the final result.

Transhumanism is an intellectual and cultural movement that advocates using existing, emerging, and speculative technologies to enhance the human condition, particularly by extending longevity and improving cognition, health, and well-being beyond current biological limitations. Drawing on developments in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), as well as longstanding themes in science fiction, transhumanism explores the ramifications, promises, and potential dangers associated with human enhancement technologies… Transhumanists envision that the convergence of advanced human enhancement technologies could eventually enable humans to become “posthumans”, beings whose capacities exceed those of present-day humans. Some transhumanists focus on conceiving strategies for reducing existential risks to humanity, including those posed by artificial superintelligence, asteroid impacts, nuclear warfare, pandemics, and societal collapse. ~Introductory definition by Wikipedia.

The initial thought that comes to me is: How far could this go? And is it a good thing?

As a teenager, I loved to watch sci-fi movies This was in the 1960s. And they were full of unbelievable robots and experiments. The movie Frankenstein was such a big hit, but no one believed it was possible to stitch together a ‘monster’ from leftover body parts. Or a crazy scientist that developed the Invisible Man.

But now? Do you know someone with an artificial arm? Or a new knee replacement? Don’t we already have technology integrated into our bodies?

What about pacemakers that enable our lives to extend beyond the normal capacity? We have electronic hearing devices implanted so the deaf can hear.

I am alive today because the heart surgeon used a Da Vinci System to replace a mitral valve in my heart and put me on an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine as life support that took over all bodily functions for a week, until my body could return to normal.

The idea of transhumanism is that the human body is just a “version 1.0” prototype, and technology could upgrade us to the 2.0 version. I know. It’s still an unsettling thought. Isn’t artificial intelligence taking over our bodies? This doesn’t sound right. But let’s look at it from both sides (deeper).

Are We Becoming ‘Beyond’ Human?

This time in history avails us of a wide difference in understanding. There are those of us who know from experience what it is like to have come into the world in a natural way, working by the sweat of our brows, and moving through life in a simple, but natural manner.

Over the course of the past 90-100 years, humans have gone from listening to a vacuum tube radio, because television had not been invented yet. Driving cars that were only operated with standard (stick) shift, because automatic shifts were not invented yet. The evenings were spent around the dinner table as a family, talking together, or listening to music with vinyl records on a record player.

And still in the same 100-year time frame, there are those of us who now only know technology. They come in built with the knowledge to work the devices right out of the box, before looking at instructions. Heck, you must go online and access the instructions there, because the item does not come with instructions anymore! Words used are completely different and their understanding is widely different. Meals are rarely eaten together at a dinner table. And we always have a cellphone in our hands. Cars drive themselves! (I still can’t get over that!) Cassettes, 8-tracks, and CDs are obsolete. Music is accessed with… a bud?

Can we stop in this fast-paced world long enough to look at where we are going and be morally and intuitively logical?

Looking at Transhumanism may show us that we need not replace humans but explains that possibly future technology will merge with humanity, guiding us toward an era of profound scientific enlightenment.

Could it be that we are taking a positive, evolutionary step?

Technology can cure diseases and expand our minds, which is incredible. But the older established generation reminds us to pause and ask: Just because we can, should we use the power to change what we are, or how we are?

Have We Already Upgraded? Looking at Safeguards.

Do you have a family member or loved one who is deceased? I am sure you miss them. I know I do.

If artificial intelligence could mimic that person so perfectly, physically, voice match and with their knowledge/personality in a digital footprint, would you consider accessing it?

This scenario was addressed on the new CBS lawyer television program, Matlock, starring Kathy Bates.

This particular scene took place while Matty’s team defended an AI “afterlife” software company. Matty (attorney Matlock) missed her deceased daughter so very much. There had been unfinished business and difficult conversations that should have been addressed before the passing but were not.

During a moment of weakness, Matty created a digital avatar of her daughter with the software program. And she used it to talk to the AI version of her daughter.

If you want to check out the video episode, you will find it in Season 2, Episode 13, titled “The Future Is Nigh” on the CBS website.

During this use of the digital avatar, a deceitful person in the software company added or changed something to the program that corrupted the proper use of it. This created incorrect information to be presented by the avatar.

This depiction of a corrupted element in the software company opens a large problem that must be addressed in the use of AI software. Just because something good could come out of the programming, safeguards must be implemented all along the way.

Key Tenets and Final Objectives of Transhumanism

By using tools to extend life as we know it into a ‘post’ human existence, we could overcome aging, disease and even death. To reach far beyond regular human capabilities. Some Core Principles that Transhumanism strives for are

Improving Human Traits. To use technology (genetic engineering, dietary and synthetic drugs that enhance brain performance to the human species).
Extending Life. Eliminate the aging process, living for hundreds of years and possibly becoming immortal.
Superintelligence. Cognitive augmentation by integrating neural implants into the human brain.
Transference of Consciousness. Uploading a person’s consciousness to non-biological systems.

Generation X — The Spiritual Bridge

Generation X has been known as the ‘forgotten’ or ‘invisible’ generation. Because there were fewer members born between Baby Boomers and the Millennials, they were often overlooked when discussing major groups of people.

I prefer to call them the ‘Spiritual Bridge’ generation.

Demographics describe Generation X members as being born between the years of 1958 and 1977 (or 1980). Some of you may dispute that. And I am not the expert on the timeframe, but this generally fits the right spot, I think.

As you can see, Generation X overlaps the Baby Boomer age and the Millennials, so you will notice a bridging of those two other age groups. They share many of the same attributes of their neighboring groups. But interpret them in a more meaningful manner.

Old Souls and New Earth Souls ⭐

The term Old Soul is one that fits exactly here in this conversation. Because many of you come to the Earth after so many lifetime experiences to lend a hand and share the wisdom that comes from those experiences and a higher point of view.

But we also have New Earth Souls fitting into this category. It is a large group here that are souls newly experiencing Earth for the first time. Their previous homes were from the stars in other forms with different experiences. We may recognize them under the name of Indigos.

They have come with specific missions: to bring in a freer society and bring us all in-tune with spiritual origins. Bringing Life back to the Sacred.

This particular group may express difficulty assimilating into the earth lifestyle, since they have no prior earth-lived experience. So, we must be patient with them and offer assistance whenever possible.

As I see it, Old Souls and New Earth Souls are all Gen Xers, and I hold them all under the same descriptions. But I felt like I needed to share the distinctions.

Spiritual Attributes of Generation X

Always empathetic and able to navigate challenges.
Driven by the desire to make a meaningful difference.
Believe that empowering just one person has a ripple effect.
Being independent, pragmatic, and often underestimated.
Fully invested in (w)holistic health.
Are resourceful and independent.
Realistic/sensible, always questioning, and deeply personally invested.
Individualized, self-motivated approach to life.

They’re not flashy. They’re not loud. But Gen X is quietly shaping everything that has to do with wellness, spiritual authority and quietly being of assistance to their fellow humans.

Because of their practical way of living spiritually, they favor a more hands-on or down-to-earth approach to the sacred. This follows through in everyday life and relationship interactions.

Path of the Sage

As surviving elders in this age group, you have instituted The Path of the Sage. You have been able to shift your wounds into wisdom. Being part of the invisible group, you take that wisdom and use it to stabilize others around you and in the world as a whole.

You can take the survival skill you inherited and use it to guide others through their own chaos.

Your Superpower is the invisibility you have always been concerned about. It allows you to move through the public without recognition. Without need for the spotlight, you become the trustworthy person who can touch people in such a graceful way and generate change.

Holding Space for someone without commenting on it, being the confidant, not making a big splash about something you accomplished is your trademark.

The world needs now your steady presence, integrated wisdom and the ability to bridge the gaps where needed.

I earlier mentioned to some of my readers from the Gen X grouping that they may be here incognito? To get things done without interference. I still believe this to be true.

Many of you are showing up as Old Souls or New Earth Souls to hold energy. To stabilize or anchor it. To hold your expression of compassion and love in a safe and expanding way. Who you are and your energies are sifting through and around the people you come in contact with. But more than that, you are affecting the whole atmosphere/environment. You are helping to shift a heavy energy into a compassionate one. Know that your purpose of being here at this time is being fulfilled.

As you read this, many of you who are Gen Xers, may be around 55-60 years of age. There is an old metaphysical belief that every 7 years one of your chakras becomes fully developed. Just doing the math, 7 x 7 = 49. Then time has come that your spiritual energy is at its height. This opens the door to act on your life purpose with vitality and great force.

Suit Up: Superhero Secret to Shield Your Energy

In this Tuesday’s Journal I am providing a class on protecting yourself from outside vibrational-empathic interference. The following interaction I had with a lecture attendee that called me is a fascinating way to introduce this particular topic.

I also share with you the whole technique, so hope you have a chance to try it out. It’d be great if you give me feedback on it, so I know how it worked for you!

“Suiting Up” to Protect Your Energy

A little over 12 years ago, a young woman, Susan, called me up out of desperation. She was an attendee at one of my metaphysical fair lectures, and I had worked with her there by giving her a reading consultation.

During the call, she spoke very quickly and ran one sentence into another one. It took a while for me to slow her down so I could understand what was going on.

Basically, Susan was totally aware, psychically, and could “hear” (in her head) the conversations and thoughts of her co-workers. I knew that with ESP, it is possible to connect with other people’s thoughts but did not know it could be as intense as she was describing. She could hear everything her co-workers were thinking!

Being a Type A personality, super aggressive, and hyper-active, Susan was at her wit’s end. So, the intensity of that “conversation” was very troubling to her.

This scenario is too familiar to me and has to do with children and some young adults (such as Susan) who have trouble controlling the way they are always impacted with spirit beings or other people’s energy fields.

Sometimes, if you are hyper-empathic (yeah, that really is a thing), you have too much input, too much energy inundating you. It becomes difficult to recognize if it is your own feelings / emotions, or someone else’s. It is difficult to go to public places, or to interact with friends and relatives.

Other people have issues with too many spirits contacting them —sometimes pestering them. Some spirits make it seem so important to help them with earthly tasks.

Susan was calling me to see if I could make sense of her situation and offer any assistance or possible solutions.

I talked with her through the conversation, mentioning protective tools, such as White Light of Christ, Pink Bubble of Love, positive affirmations and anything else I could possibly remember from my early years of training. When we hung up the phone from that conversation, she seemed alright.

Several days later she called back again, just as nervous and intense as she was before. Well, I did not know what else to do!

Finally, I asked my spirit guide what else could possibly help her. (Why do I always ask my guides last?)

Now, what my spirit guides told me to share with her might sound silly but humor me for a minute.

THE SUPERHERO SUIT TECHNIQUE

Here is what my guides said to tell Susan: Pick out a superhero that you resonate with. Let’s say it is Superman (my personal favorite).

When you wake up in the morning, sit on the side of the bed. Have the intention of putting on a superhero suit. Use your imagination and pretend to put your feet in the tights and pull them up. Then the stretchy body suit with sleeves. Snap or zip the wrists closed on the sleeves. Put on the tight gloves. Pull the close-fitting helmet type hat over your head. Be sure to place those goggle things over your eyes. Don’t forget the boots.

By doing this, you are intentionally pulling your subtle bodies close to you. But the important thing is that it creates a protection and closure needed to stop connecting with outside energies. Also, lower-level spirit entities will not be able to interfere with your day. They will understand that you are taking control of your own energy!

She was quiet after I told her this crazy plan. I kept explaining that this information was flowing from Spirit as I was speaking. I did not know anything about the superhero suit technique any more than she did!

Then she said, “You know? This might really work.”

I asked her to call me later that week, since it was a completely new concept, and I wanted a report as to how it worked. But Susan called me the very next day. She was amazed as to how well it muffled all the talk. At one point, it was a new experience not hearing everyone’s thoughts. Almost spooky!

I asked Susan if I had her permission to share her experience with others. I hoped to help many other people, especially those who were empathic and hyper-sensitive to emotional energies. She said yes, of course!
