There comes a point in time when you stop asking, “What am I supposed to be doing?”

…and start asking something entirely different: “What kind of life am I actually living now?”

Not someday.
Not eventually.
Not once everything is figured out.

Now.

Because whether we realize it or not, we leave traces of ourselves everywhere, like breadcrumbs left behind to follow a trail…

In the people we encourage.
The kindness we extend.
The wisdom we share.
The patience we offer.
The things we stand for.
The things we refuse to become.

Sometimes we leave a trail through grand gestures.
More often, it happens without notice.

A phone call.
A ride to an appointment.
A volunteer shift.
A listening ear.
A moment of courage.
A decision to stay open instead of shutting down.

For a long time, many of us spent our lives following schedules, responsibilities, expectations, deadlines, and routines. We did what needed to be done because that’s what adults do.

But eventually, something changes.

We begin to realize that this chapter of life isn’t only about slowing down.

It’s also about becoming more intentional.

About recognizing that today only happens once.

And maybe legacy isn’t only what people say about us after we’re gone.

Maybe legacy is sometimes how we choose to live going forward. . .

There are moments in life when we begin to realize we’re no longer simply collecting experiences.

We’re becoming part of someone else’s path too.

Some trails are already waiting for us.
Others are created one intentional step at a time.

Don’t just survive… rise.

Retirement has a funny way of becoming a full-time job.

Once we retire, we’re suddenly expected to become the CEO of...

• our healthcare
• our finances
• our insurance
• our medications
• our housing
• our technology
• our legal affairs
• our estate planning
• our transportation
• our social life

Nobody hands us an employee manual.

There are no annual reviews.

No HR department.

No union representation.

And yet somehow, we’re expected to figure it all out.

This issue, I’d like to talk about the difference between surviving and advocating. Between enduring and engaging. Between accepting what is and speaking up for what could (and should) be.

Because sometimes victory isn’t a grand achievement.

Sometimes it’s asking one more question.

Sometimes it’s saying no.

Sometimes it’s setting a boundary.

And sometimes it’s simply deciding that your life still belongs to you.

If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone.

Most of us weren’t taught how to advocate for ourselves.

We were taught how to work hard.
How to be polite.
How to keep the peace.
How to carry our share.

What we weren’t always taught was how to recognize when we’ve been carrying too much.

Or how to put some of it down.

The other day I needed a pipe wrench just to open a bottle of water.

A bottle of water.

Not a safe.
Not a vault.
Not a pickle jar from 1957.

Water.

Somewhere between the disappearing perforation holes, “easy-open” packaging that requires scissors and prayer, and bacon labeled thick sliced that’s thinner than notebook paper, I’ve started to suspect something:

Maybe it’s not just us.

Maybe the world really has become more complicated, more frustrating, and a little less considerate of everyday human beings.

And while some annoyances are funny…
others quietly chip away at our patience, independence, confidence, and peace of mind.

So today, in honor of honesty, maturity, and refusing to quietly suffer through ridiculousness…

Here are several annoyances we’re officially no longer pretending are fine.

1. Packaging Apparently Designed by Tiny Angry Engineers

At this point, opening a simple household product feels less like shopping and more like a survival challenge.

“Pull here.”

Nothing happens.

“Lift to open.”

Now I need scissors or a butter knife, and possibly protective eyewear.

And can we discuss the disappearing perforation holes on bottled water caps? Because I’m starting to believe some packaging machinery simply gave up during the pandemic and nobody checked behind it.

Even “thick sliced” bacon is so thin you can see through it. (I’m afraid to see what the bacon would’ve looked like if I hadn’t made the thicker choice…) Sorry for repeating, but I like my bacon. . .

Honestly, I’m not convinced we’re becoming weaker nearly as fast as products are becoming flimsier, smaller, thinner, and harder to use.

2. Technology That Constantly “Improves” Until Nothing Works

I’m old enough to remember when technology was supposed to make life easier.

Now every time my phone updates, I spend two days trying to figure out where everything went.

Icons disappear.
Passwords expire.
Apps move things around for no apparent reason.
And somehow every “improvement” requires three more steps than before.

At this point, I don’t even fully trust a software update.

And while I’ve managed, during my life, to adapt to rotary phones, answering machines, cassette tapes, CDs, computers, smartphones, streaming services, online banking, QR codes, and enough passwords to qualify for witness protection…

I’m getting a little tired of pretending this constant chaos is convenient.

Especially when the same people calling mature adults “bad with technology” are walking through parking lots talking to their watches like they’re in a Mission Impossible movie.

Maybe technology changed behavior more than it changed us.

And in reality - Not all progress feels like progress.

3. The Little “Teasing” Comments We’re Supposed to Laugh Off

Apparently, increasing your font size now qualifies as a personality flaw.

So does comfortable clothing.
Daily routines.
Going to bed early.
Printing things out.
Wanting quieter restaurants.
Or taking five extra seconds to read something before clicking “Accept All.”

Most teasing is probably meant lightly.

But after a while, those little comments start carrying a message underneath them:

“You’re doing life wrong now.”

Except maybe we’re not.

Maybe we’ve simply reached the point where comfort, peace, clarity, and protecting our energy matter more than performing exhausting tasks for the approval (or entertainment) of other people.

Because sometimes people make us feel ridiculous just for adapting…

The funny thing about everyday annoyances is that they’re rarely just about the annoyance itself.

Sometimes they reveal something deeper:
the subtle ways people are expected to become quieter, less visible, and more accommodating as they mature.

I think many of us are tired of pretending we don’t notice.

So let’s talk about the rest of it.

4. The Strange Disappearing Act of Customer Service

There was a time when calling customer service meant speaking to… a person.

Now it usually means:
pressing numbers,
repeating yourself to a robot,
getting transferred six times,
being told to “visit our website,”
or arguing with a chatbot that somehow has less personality than my microwave.

And don’t even get me started on self-checkout.

Apparently now I work for the store.

I scan the groceries.
I bag the groceries.
I look up produce codes like I’m training for a cashier certification exam…
and then the machine still calls for assistance because I placed a banana in the bagging area incorrectly.

Meanwhile, actually finding a human being who can solve a problem has started feeling like winning a lottery ticket - unless, of course, they think you’re about to steal something - then you can get some human attention.

Maybe businesses call this efficiency. In my opinion, companies are much more interested in their profits than the customer experience.

But sometimes it just feels like customers are doing more work while receiving less help - yet paying more money.

And truly?

A little patience, eye contact, and human interaction used to make everyday life feel a lot less exhausting and impersonal.

5. When Public Spaces Started Feeling Like Survival Challenges

I used to think running errands would become easier as I got older.

Instead, it sometimes feels like I’m entering a live-action obstacle course.

Restaurants are louder.
Stores are more crowded. Road Rage is actually a thing.
Parking lots feel like competitive sporting events.
And apparently everyone now walks through public spaces while staring at a device, talking on speakerphone, or pushing a shopping cart like they’re the only person in the store.

Whatever happened to simple awareness and manners?

People bump into each other.
Leave carts in the middle of aisles.
Watch videos at full volume.
Carry entire conversations on speakerphone.
And somehow still look irritated when you’re the one trying to quietly mind your own business.

I’m not trying to avoid human interaction. (Well yeah, a little…)

I just miss when public spaces felt a little calmer…
a little more courteous…
and a little less exhausting.

These days, protecting your peace almost requires strategic planning.

6. “Act Your Age” Is Still One of the Rudest Phrases Ever Spoken

I’ve never fully understood why growing older comes with so many unwritten rules.

Apparently there’s an invisible deadline when we’re supposed to:
dress differently,
talk differently,
move differently,
listen to different music,
stop trying new things,
and quietly disappear into “age-appropriate behavior.”

Meanwhile, the same world telling us to “act our age” also expects us to:
keep adapting,
keep learning technology,
keep working longer,
keep staying active,
keep reinventing ourselves,
and somehow remain forever young at the exact same time.

It’s exhausting.

And really?

Maybe maturity isn’t about becoming smaller.

Maybe it’s about finally becoming more comfortable being ourselves.

Wearing what feels good.
Protecting our peace.
Keeping the routines that work for us.
Listening to the music we love.
Laughing loudly.
Resting when we’re tired.
And no longer apologizing for adapting to life honestly instead of constantly “jumping through hoops”.

Because some of us have earned the right to stop shrinking ourselves just to make other people comfortable.

7. Becoming Invisible Unless Somebody Wants to Sell Us Something

There’s something strangely confusing about modern advertising.

One minute, mature adults are practically invisible in movies, commercials, fashion, technology campaigns, and popular culture… and the next minute we suddenly exist again because someone wants to sell us:
medication,
life insurance,
hearing aids,
stair lifts,
reverse mortgages,
or a mattress designed specifically for our “aging needs.”

Seems like the only acceptable way to grow older publicly is:
quietly,
carefully,
and with excellent pharmaceutical coverage.

Meanwhile, many of us are still:
working,
learning,
creating,
traveling,
starting over,
trying new things,
raising grandchildren,
building businesses,
writing newsletters (wink, wink)…
and figuring life out in real time like everybody else.

We’re not invisible.

We’re just often edited out of the larger cultural conversation unless somebody decides we fit a marketing category.

And seriously?

There’s a big difference between being seen…
and being targeted.

8. Why Is Everything Suddenly Printed in Ant-Sized Font?

At some point, the world collectively decided that reading ordinary information should become an eye-chart challenge. And NONE of this has to do with “old age” at all !!!

Restaurant menus.
Directions on packages.
Assembly instructions.
Medicine bottles.
Product labels.
Store receipts.
And those pharmaceutical advisements that fold out into what appears to be a full-length novel printed in microscopic ink.

Really, half the time I’m not even sure whether I need reading glasses or actual surveillance equipment.

And why does every important instruction now appear:

• light gray on white,

• hidden inside shiny packaging,

• or printed in fonts apparently designed for ants with excellent vision?

Meanwhile, increasing your font size on a phone or tablet somehow gets treated like a personal failure instead of simple practicality.

Maybe we’re not asking for too much.

Maybe human beings just aren’t meant to read in size 4 font while standing under dim lighting trying to assemble a bookshelf.

What the hell??!

Making things easier to read shouldn’t require embarrassment, apology, or a magnifying glass hanging permanently around our necks.

9. Pretending Everything Is Fine All the Time

We’ve spent decades adapting.

To changing families.
Changing technology.
Changing expectations.
Changing responsibilities.
Changing versions of ourselves.

That’s not weakness.

That’s resilience.

And maybe maturity isn’t about becoming smaller, quieter, or less visible after all.

Maybe it’s about finally becoming honest about:
what matters…
what exhausts us…
what still inspires us…
and what we’re officially no longer pretending is fine.

Because not all progress feels like progress.

But growth?

That’s something entirely different.

Final Thought

Perhaps that’s the real point of all these little annoyances.

Not that life became impossible… but that many of us are finally allowing ourselves to admit when something feels frustrating, overwhelming, ridiculous, or unnecessarily complicated.

Because pretending everything is fine all the time isn’t strength.

Sometimes real strength looks more like truth.

And truthfully?

We’ve come a long way, baby. Uh, huh!

At this point, I think we’ve earned the right to admit when something gets on our nerves.

Not every frustration means we’re negative.
Not every annoyance means we’re “becoming old and cranky.”
And not every modern “improvement” automatically makes life easier.

Sometimes things really are louder…
more complicated…
harder to use…
and more exhausting than they used to be.

So now I’m curious…

And every time I pressed play, it felt like a reminder - still does -

The mockingbird didn’t care what time it was.
It sang anyway.

A blimp drifted slowly across the sky - no urgency, no schedule… just there.

And Lola - my “catpanion” - well, apparently she’s been practicing some kind of feline yoga I wasn’t invited to by the looks of those front paw positions.

All of it happening…
whether I noticed or not.

And maybe that’s the real difference.

Not that life suddenly got quieter…
but that I finally did.

Before retirement, these moments existed too.

I just didn’t notice.

Not really.

I was moving from one thing to the next - work, responsibilities, routines that filled the day before I had a chance to feel it.

And in all that motion…
I stopped noticing the quiet activity.

But now?

I find myself sitting in the quiet more often, just watching life happen.

No noise. No expectations. No need to respond to anyone.

Just me…
finally hearing me. . . again.

And I have to admit—
this kind of quiet feels like coming home.

And somewhere along the way, I started asking myself a different question.

Not about being busy.
Not about having enough to do.

But this:

How do I know if this is peace…
or if I’m slowly pulling away more than I realize?

Because the truth is… peace is subtle.

It doesn’t announce itself.

It’s not dramatic.

It’s just small changes.

Letting a text message sit a little longer.
Passing on something you might have said yes to before.
Choosing your own space more often - and still feeling perfectly fine about it.

Nothing feels wrong.

But something feels, well, different.

And here’s what I’ve come to understand:

There’s a difference between solitude that restores you…
and quiet that slowly disconnects you.

The tricky part?

At first, they can feel almost the same.

So how do you tell the difference?

You were born to be REAL, not to be PERFECT.

Somewhere along the way, most of us learned how to become different versions of ourselves.

The reliable one.
The strong one.
The agreeable one.
The one who kept things moving… no matter what.

And for a long time, those versions served a purpose.
They helped us navigate work, relationships, expectations — even survival.

But what happens when the roles we’ve played no longer deserve our participation?

When I look at the image above, I don’t just see different facial expressions.
I see pieces of a life that required adaptation and even cultivation.

Every face belongs to the same person.
None of them are fake — but none of them tell the whole story either.

And here’s the part that stopped me:

Those “copies” can be let go.

Not rejected.
Not judged.
Just… released.

Because somewhere underneath all the versions we’ve carried —
the original is still here.

Not lost.
Not gone.
Just waiting to be recognized again.

Retirement gives us the time and space to reacquaint ourselves with ourselves.

And in that time and space, a different kind of question begins to surface:

Which version of me am I still holding onto…
and do I still need it?

We were never meant to live this chapter of life perfectly.

But we do get the chance to live it honestly and without judgement.

And sometimes… that starts by putting a few things down.

You don’t have to erase your past to move forward.

You don’t have to reject who you’ve been.

You simply get to decide:

👉 what you carry forward
👉 and what you’re ready to set down

Because the goal here isn’t perfection.

It’s originality and honesty.

And sometimes… that begins with something as simple as realizing:

You don’t have to keep holding everything anymore.

Because “act your age” was never very helpful advice.

Especially since you’ve never been this age before. . .

A quiet deepening of perspective from someone who’s almost 80. . .

Recently, I reached out to a good friend who’s approaching 80 and asked a simple question:

“What changes are you noticing in yourself?”

Her reply stopped me in my tracks.

Not because it was dramatic — but because it was peaceful.
Not because it was complicated — but because it was clear.

Here’s what living well looks like to her now.

This issue was inspired by a conversation with a dear friend, Rosemary, whose quiet wisdom stayed with me long after we talked.

❤️ Loving Yourself Without Apology

After a lifetime of loving parents, siblings, spouses, children, and friends, she’s finally learned something essential:

“I have started loving myself.”

She no longer believes the world rests on her shoulders.

She’s released the need to fix, correct, or carry everyone else.

And somewhere in that release, she discovered something unexpected:

Peace.

Not perfection.
Not control.

Creases, spots, appearances?

They’ve lost their power.

Personality speaks louder than polish.

She walks away from people who don’t value her — not with anger, but with clarity.

And she no longer competes in the “rat-race” of life.

After all…

She’s not a rat.
And life isn’t a race.

🌸 Honoring Emotion, Connection, and Joy

She allows herself to feel — without embarrassment.

Because emotions aren’t weaknesses.

They are proof of being human.

She chooses relationships over ego.

Because ego isolates —
and connection sustains.

Most of all, she lives each day with intention.

Not fearfully.
Not frantically.

Simply aware that today matters.

And she does what makes her happy —

because happiness isn’t owed later - it’s chosen now.

Clarity.

Not perfection.
Not control.
Just being clear.

✨ A Gentle Question for All of Us

Why wait until 60, 70, or 80 to live this way?

Any age is the right age to:

• release what weighs you down

• choose kindness over correctness

• honor your own worth

• and live with a little more softness and truth

Start now.

Your best life doesn’t begin someday —
it begins the moment you decide it matters.

I’ve always believed that being silly for absolutely no reason - and laughing until you can barely catch your breath - is one of life’s best remedies. Something shifts when we laugh. The heart feels lighter, creativity wakes up, and for a little while, everything feels possible again.

My closest friends share that same giggly, goofy humor, which is probably why we’re so connected. We tease each other, talk about the most ridiculous things, and somehow always circle back to earlier memories that still make us laugh out loud.

2️⃣ Try Something You’re “Bad” At

I’ll admit something right up front:

I am not naturally gifted at learning new technical skills.

Case in point — my ongoing relationship with the piano.

When I first decided to learn, I had this lovely vision in my head. I’d sit down, press a few keys, and somehow beautiful music would flow out of my fingertips.

Instead, what I got were hesitant notes, fingers that didn’t seem to cooperate, and more than one moment staring at the keys wondering who thought this was a good idea.

Some days it feels like my hands are in a completely different zip code than the notes they’re supposed to play.

And yet…

I keep showing up.

Not because I’m good at it.
Not because I’m progressing quickly.

But because there’s something satisfying about being a beginner again.

There’s humility in it.

And freedom.

Maybe for you it isn’t piano.

Maybe it’s learning a new computer skill. Taking a class you’ve been curious about. Or asking someone to explain something without pretending you already understand it.

Trying something you’re “bad” at can feel uncomfortable.

It may bruise the ego a little.

But it also wakes something up inside you — curiosity, courage, patience.

And it reminds us that growth doesn’t stop just because there are more candles on the cake.

You don’t have to be good at it.

You just have to be open to try.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, my local radio station — 88.1 KCEP here in Las Vegas — plays what they call “Take Me Back Tuesday” and “Classic Thursday.”

The minute those old songs start playing…

something happens.

I’m instantly transported.

Now, let’s be clear.

I don’t dance the way I used to.

My knees have opinions now.
My hips negotiate movements.
And the spins are much slower these days.

But that doesn’t stop me.

When those songs come on, I can’t help but go back in time — at least in my mind — and attempt a few of the dance moves that were popular when those records first hit the airwaves.

The steps aren’t perfect.

The rhythm might wobble.

But the smile?

That part is automatic.

Sometimes saying yes to one silly thing is as simple as turning up the radio - or streaming device - and letting your body and mind remember what it once knew.

If you have a local station that still plays the classics, lean into it.

And if not…

create your own “oldies but goodies” playlist — the songs that instantly lift your mood and remind you who you’ve always been.

Because sometimes the bravest, silliest thing you can do…

is just press play.

4️⃣ Revisit a Childhood Joy

Before we worried about being productive, polished, or responsible…

we simply played.

For many of us, Easter memories are part of that.

Dyeing eggs at the kitchen table — dropping those fizzy color tablets into plastic cups, watching the water turn bright pink, blue, or yellow, and dipping each egg carefully into the dye to see what kind of design would appear.

Every egg had its own imperfect pattern.

Messy?

Absolutely.

But that was part of the magic.

Somewhere along the way, many of those simple joys got filed away under “kid stuff.”

Because “act your age” wasn’t always helpful advice. Especially now that we aren’t even sure what that means anymore.

Years ago, I watched a Twilight Zone episode called “Kick the Can.”

In the story, residents of a retirement home begin playing the childhood game of kick the can. At first they felt ridiculous, but something changed as they played — their energy changed, their outlook changed, even their sense of possibility changed.

That episode stayed with me for years.

Not because it was about becoming young again…

but because it reminded me how powerful play can be.

Revisiting a childhood joy doesn’t mean turning back the clock.

It might be baking a cake and licking the spoon. Riding a bike around the block. Playing a board game. Coloring an egg just because it makes you smile.

It’s not about nostalgia.

It’s about reconnecting with the version of yourself who didn’t overthink everything.

5️⃣ Let Fun Count As Productivity

For much of our lives, productivity meant something measurable — a paycheck, a promotion, a finished report, a checked-off list.

But what if productivity could look different now?

When I sit down with my yarn and crochet hook, I’m not building an empire.

I’m simply creating something with my hands — stitch by stitch — watching it take shape.

It’s quiet.
Focused.
Calming.

And yes…

it’s productive.

The same could be said for building a model airplane at a workbench. Tinkering in the garage. Gardening. Woodworking. Painting. Assembling puzzles.

These activities may not “count” in the traditional sense.

But they DO absolutely count.

They calm the mind.
They strengthen focus.
They create something tangible.

And they remind us that progress doesn’t always have to be monetized to matter.

Fun is not the opposite of productivity.

Sometimes… fun is the purest form of it.

And I don’t take that lightly. Ever. 💛

🌿 The Honest Part

I want to share something with you openly, because that’s how I’ve always wanted this space to feel - honest and human.

Creating Retired & Inspired takes time, thought, emotional energy, and yes - real-world resources.

There are writing tools.
Publishing platforms.
Research time.
And the bigger dream pieces I’m building alongside this - like my book.

For a long time, I planned to keep everything completely free through this year.
And I still believe deeply in keeping a free version of this space available.

But I’ve also realized something important:

If I want to keep creating this thoughtfully - and keep growing this community - it has to be sustainable for me too.

Not just emotionally.
Practically.

And that was a hard thing for me to admit to myself, if I’m being honest.

March sometimes has it’s way of arriving quietly. A little more daylight stretches across the morning. The air softens. Hints of green begin to appear where everything once looked bare. Nothing dramatic has changed overnight, yet something unmistakably new is underway.

In nature, spring isn’t about becoming something different. It’s about returning to life. The same roots, the same plants, the same landscape begin to breathe and grow again after a season of rest and hibernation.

Maybe our lives work that way too.

Retirement is often described as a time to reinvent ourselves, to start over or become someone entirely new. But most of us have already spent decades building a life, gathering wisdom, shaping interests, and creating a foundation that still has plenty of strength in it. And for many, this new life chapter brings a strange mix of freedom and uncertainty - suddenly there’s more time than you know what to do with, and the familiar routines that once guided your days begin to loosen.

But just like spring, this season isn’t asking you to become someone new. It’s inviting you to return to your own natural self.

A tulip doesn’t come back in the spring as a rose. It returns as the same tulip, drawing from the life stored deep within its bulb, rising again in its own familiar beauty. If you haven’t guessed it by now, yes - March is my birthday month. I’m one of those people who believes birthdays deserve a little extra space for celebrating. But, what most don’t know is that this month is also my time for reflection and renewal.

Many people use New Year’s Day as their time to toss out the old and embrace the new. I use my “anniversary of life” for the moment to regenerate and focus on personal clutter, improvements, desires and goals for the year to come. And since this is my last year living in my 60s, it feels like exactly the right moment to check for a little “root-rot,” add some fertilizer, and give myself a good watering - all in preparation for the “Sensational 70s” ahead.

If there are any of you with birthdays in March - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY OF LIFE to you!! For those of you with birthdays in other months - I hope you find your own moment to take inventory of your life and bring forth your best self. Retirement has a way of changing the meaning of familiar promises.

“Together forever” once meant evenings and weekends, shared vacations, and stories exchanged at the end of long workdays. Now, for many couples, it means something new — shared mornings, shared afternoons, shared space… all day, every day.

And while the love hasn’t changed, the experience of togetherness often has.

Work once provided natural breathing room. Separate schedules softened differences. Time apart allowed space to reset. When that structure disappears, long-standing differences shaped by culture, finances, and emotional wiring can feel more noticeable — not necessarily because anything is wrong, but because everything is closer.

Many women tend to process change through conversation and connection. Men are often shaped to adjust more quietly and internally. One partner may feel relief in slowing down, while the other feels unsettled without routine or direction. Even shared finances can carry different emotional meanings — comfort for one, caution for the other.

These differences don’t always mean that a relationship is struggling. Many times they mean retirement is asking couples to readjust to a new journey together.

And perhaps the most important shift isn’t about changing each other.

We can’t fix our partners. We can’t rewrite habits built over a lifetime.
But we can change how we respond — with a pause instead of a reaction, curiosity instead of correction, and a little more grace for the fact that this chapter is new for both involved.

As someone maneuvering through retirement on my own, I’ve uncovered a few unexpected perks of being a “solo artist”.

There’s only one schedule to negotiate (mine), one set of preferences to honor (mine), and a lot more room to check in with what actually feels good right now (to me).

Retirement has given me the freedom to focus on myself without apology — and just as importantly, the time to reconnect with family and friends who make up my real support system and village.

I’ve also found that this new journey invites a rediscovery of self — almost like forming a new partnership between who I was before retirement and who I’m becoming after it. Turns out, that relationship deserves some attention too.

Retirement doesn’t require a duet.
Sometimes, a well-played solo is exactly the right arrangement.

My Story About Freedom, Chaos & Finding My Rhythm Again

I retired in July 2024, and let me tell you — it felt like jumping off a cliff with a grin. The paycheck drop? Not so amusing. Going from a little over $2,000 per check to $2,100 for the whole month (with $1,500 going to rent) was an eye-opener I wasn’t prepared for.
