Spica is the key to the upcoming Venus Retrograde. It is conjunct this bright star that Venus begins her retrograde shadow and where she will station direct eventually.

Spica reminds us of the power of our legacy, what we have been able to harvest. Especially in the Venus areas of life like love, beauty, and our spiritual investment.

We are asked to allow the goddess faces of Spica: Demeter, Isis, Cybele, Erigone, and Persephone to initiate us. A particular revelation of the retrograde may be about tapping into spiritual callings, as the star is associated with those who serve the Gods.

Spica is the sheath of wheat in the Virgin’s hand, it represents what we get out of things, and the importance of properly planting, germinating, and eventually reaping the seeds. In a way, the reaping is truly what is highlighted with Spica, which is why its connected to both death and prosperity, just like Persephone.

The Eclipse is upon us! Today, Wednesday the 12th, the Moon will connect with the Sun at about 1:37pm Eastern time creating a Total Solar Eclipse. Their meeting will occur at 20 Leo, right in the mouths of the Lion and the Hydra.

I want to begin this guide with a few reflections I’ve seen and felt so far as the Eclipse percolates and please add your thoughts and comments here on Patreon or in Discord under “Astrology”.

In the last few days, I’ve noticed this increased sense of boldness and passion, as well as a very “fresh out of fucks” kind of mood. I’ve seen a lot of content online questioning authority, either specific authorities or just the idea of taking an idea or situation off the pedestal. This may partially be due to the outer planet formation last month and the shift of the nodal axis, but those events are continuing to be highlighted by this Eclipse season.

Earlier today I was at the gym and I felt such a strange surge of what can only be described as Will. For the record, I go to the gym frequently and this feeling never happens. It was the perfect moment where my heart rate was harmonizing with my playlist and the ascending motion of the Stairclimber. Suddenly, I felt my Will surge and had an inner knowing that anything was possible. I know it all sounds annoyingly dramatic, but that’s exactly what this Eclipse feels like... Look for the dramatics, for the surge of your Will, or maybe even the depletion of it. Be on the watch for the changes in your desire and intentions. This Eclipse may reroute you towards something that is more aligned at this time by actually “Eclipsing” a previous want of your heart. Don’t be surprised if you wake up after a night of vivid dreams, noticing your priorities have shifted.

The message isn’t to stop preforming, it’s realizing that your recent performance may no longer feel aligned to your current creative urges. The play needs to be revised, re-cast, and relaunched after the Eclipse wanes. Despite this being a South Node Eclipse, we are not fully abandoning Leo’s deep desire to be seen, heard, and validated. We are recognizing the visibility wounds, the low confidence, the lack of Will that’s been holding us back from creating the ultimate show.

In the year of our Lord 2026, there are Christian mouthpieces targeting the orgasm-having, highly glamorous witches who are minding their own business. Some of us are even praying to St. Anthony when we loose our favorite lipliner and thinking of Mary when ladybugs land on our fingers in the garden. Christian discomfort with sex isn’t a new revelation. Nor is the witch’s longstanding association with eros.

How can the evangelicals say their lives are unsettlingly peaceful when they spend all their days with the steady hum of god-fear rattling away? Its why the videos seem urgent, why the advice is absolute. There is no room for disagreement: they are right and we are damned. Why does Christ’s religion of love breed those who are chronically afraid of true intimacy?

I laugh when Alex has to pause for a moment of silence when discussing pagan deity work. She cannot fathom a world where there are miracles ascending from the Underworld. Her flinch sums up thousands of years of religious and cultural history that is forgotten in favor of Matthew and John and whichever internet pastor has the mic today.

Alex says witchcraft is a powergrab, an ego trip. I wonder how much of this judgement is personal to her experience with preforming the role of diviner on social media. I’m a content creator too, its a hard, strange job. It’s also undoubtedly more of an ego-steroid than glamour magick. But lots of people think Glamour is another way to spell Grift or vice versa, even among magickal practitioners. I have heard many well meaning comments about how glamour is not demonic, but just a waste of magick.

The glamour witches know that our science and art is none of these things. Do you want to know what it really is? It’s about what we attract and repel from our lives. It’s about becoming the version of ourselves that our ancestors, spirits and internal intelligences need us to be. It’s the honor of being seen and truly witnessed and the giving others that same permission slip. Its a deep process that challenges the ways that we’ve tried to shrink ourselves down. The active deconstruction of social and religious dogma spun to make us subservient, meek and sexless. No, obedience is only on the menu when its consensual and erotic.

Alex begs the audience multiple times not to look up these terms, not to type into the tiny Tiktok search box: O-method, Glamour Magick, Manifesting Your Appearance, and even warding. Protection magick is high up on the banned list. In her words there is no casting out Satan with Satan.

Maybe for the Evangelicals this feels so true in their paradigm that their reality and expectations bend to confirm it. We as witches need to realize that as well. I am not writing this for Chrisitians, I am writing this to remind witches that if this discorse is frustrating you, that fire inside is an important sign that “the craft” is serving you. Part of me wants the Evangelicals to reach a point in their paradigm where they can experience the healing power of the things their patriarchal morality has disavowed and deemed demonic. But part of me just wants to leave them alone like I wish we witches could be left alone.

I’m not surprised, nor am I disappointed. I just find it amusing that the only remark that can be made about glamour magick is that it’s frighteningly powerful. Apparently any desire-harnessing artform feels so unsafe, that they must to denounce it. They are right though, in a way. Glamour and sex magick are incredible life changing tools and its okay to be a bit nervous about that. Its okay to wonder if you’re ready to put yourself out there, to stand in the spotlight, to hold the weight of a million glances – however positive they are. I think Alex Reads Tarot knows this feeling too well. These arts allow us to stretch our potential for personal growth. Glamour magick has given me my dreams and by the way who’s to say the divine has no role in that equation.

Well i’ve been wearing this perfume I bought in Egypt. The saleswoman told me to use it only for special evening occasions. But it’s so intoxicating I find myself wearing it alone in my apartment at nine in the morning.

My recent glamour routine is offering weed to the Sirens that live on the jetty at the end of my street. It’s filling them in on gossip like a bard reciting an epic poem. They know about all the characters in my life, about the good and the bad. The people who’ve wronged me and those I love without reason. They send me gentle waves and pearly shells. They love the whimpery sounds I make when I cry almost as much as they love my weed.

The routine is exfoliant, shower gel, lotion, oil. Foaming face wash, aezelic acid, gel moisturizer, retinol. It’s buying bread from the Farmers Market every Monday and being thankful that I am no longer a housewife. Its seeing what crawled out of the cremation pyre. I eat my buttered toast and remember what my ex-husband presented to me on our first wedding anniversary: A big unwrapped box with a 40 dollar breadmaker inside. So you can make fresh bread every week.

My recent glamour routine is knowing where I am in the growing season. It’s getting my work done. Its peace and quiet and records playing low in the center of the earth. Spinning orchestra, haunting the heavens. My glamour is sub-lunar and material. My glamour is unseen and non-corporeal.

My recent glamour routine has been upgrading my mattress and sleeping on cool cotton sheets. It’s sighing when the thing first arrived at my door and is too heavy to carry. So I walk over to the neighbor’s house, knock on the screen door and ask him if he’s feeling strong today. He scales a flight of stairs with the massive box and untangles the the cardboard from the plastic. I send him back home with a diet coke. Let me know if you need anything else.

My recent glamour routine is writing what I want to happen each week on my enchanted mirror in erasable marker. It’s eating cocoa chia pudding for breakfast. Mix 1/2 cup chia seeds with two cups milk of your choice. Then add in a few spoonfuls of yogurt, honey and cocoa powder. Mix mix mix. My skin is supple, my life is sweet, all good things come to me, help is always around the corner and across the street, the gods are conspiring in my favor, because fortune favors the glamour witches

Astrological events are omenistic and they exist on a spectrum of intensity. For example, if an omen about death shows up in your path, sure this could foretell a serious and unexpected ending. But it could also manifest as your favorite pair of jeans ripping or a favorite business closing shop. Not every transit needs to be felt in the most extreme sense every time. Omens are a function of time and space.

Even though the Full Moon is not an eclipse, the Nodes will be co-present with the full moon in Aquarius. It sits just far enough away that the Moon does not become eclipsed, we have to wait until August 27th for that. But the Full Moon in Aquarius happens in the same sign as the winter’s Aquarius Solar Eclipse, roping it into the Eclipse cycle anyway. Not to mention the intense moment that it captures and sheds its light onto, the end of the Barbault Basket and the separating Jupiter-Pluto opposition. The purpose of this full moon is to crystalize, frame, and spotlight the intense upheavals and epiphanies of the last few weeks. And package it up just in time for the Eclipse season. A shedding of the skin followed by the gaining of a brand new one, forged by the fated hands of the shadow dragon. As of today, Monday the 27th, the Eclipse season begins early with the turning of the nodes.

See when pockets of opportunity and moments of fate are opening up for you and see them through. Investigate them.

This is a great full moon for any number of release work, energy/entity removal, energetic cleansing. Since this full moon is on Pluto it feels like it’s about acknowledging your changes and embracing them, choosing a new fate, and letting the past stay in the past. I would also highly reccomend doing ritual with any Chthonic divine on this full moon, including and especially Hades, who’s energy feels very present in the current astrology.

Jupiter Cazimi

The Full Moon is also happening the same day that Jupiter is conjunct the Sun, creating this auspicious and also overwhelming energy. It asks the question, “Where are your resources going? Mental, emotional, physical, time? How are you being called to redistribute these resources?”

Pluto asks you to release and rewards you with something much greater than what was “lost”. Jupiter asks you to start prioritizing what is contributing to growth, but that means acknowledging what is contributing to stagnancy and leaving it behind.

Jupiter Cazimis are largely considered extremely lucky but I think this particular Jupiter Cazimi will be quite emotionally intense, Eclipse-like, and provide the opportunity to meet what you’ve been avoiding.

Moon-Pluto unearths while Jupiter shines in the opposition. It’s like pulling out treasure that was deeply buried and covered in a layer of hard-to-remove dirt. Assigning yourself the task over the next few weeks to polishing the jewel. Then spending the fall realizing how valuable what you unearthed actually was, despite all the difficulty and time spent finding and restoring it. This full moon is about the luck that comes from doing the work, dedicating yourself, and committing to your fate and future.

This weekend I saw the Odyssey and resonated with something that Odysseus said at the start of the film, “The Gods help those who help themselves”. This is very similar to my favorite aphorism, “Fate Favors the Bold.” The meaning is identical, the Gods help those who take bold action, are tapped into their purpose, and are doing the work. That is what this transit taps you into, the part of you taking bold, steady action and not wasting time or resources on things with a bad return on investment.

The Jupiter Cazimi represents the story of Hades. He is the son of Kronos who is born first and therefore spends the most time sitting in his father’s stomach, scared and clawing for his freedom. Eventually he is freed by Zeus and takes up his place in the Underworld. He see’s the sun for the very first time and yet in that same moment he retires from it. Hades accepts his kingdom of resources in the Underworld.

Nodal Axis Shift

on July 27th– the Nodal Axis shifted backwards into Leo/Aquarius. They move in retrograde motion most of the time. This is quite symbolic of what the Nodes represent, a sort of permanent re-assessment of time and fate. They are the double pointed needle on our Wheel of Fortune sky. The North Node is fixated on ascending, gaining, increasing, hoarding where the South Node’s desire is to disappear all that its brother has accumulated.

Mercury, as of today (Monday the 20th) is already at his stationing degree of 16 Cancer. Right now Mercury is “switching directions”, pivoting, getting ready to move in direct motion. The time it takes to stop and change direction can take a few days. Is time is moving slow? You may be working towards something but not feel like you’re getting anywhere. What has Mercury taught you this go around? As I was starting to write this paragraph, I was making as moka pot on the stove. I raised the lid so I could watch the coffee rise up through the pot. Before I knew it my stove and countertops were covered in coffee. Steam hissed all around me.

That’s exactly what this point of the Mercury Retrograde feels and sounds like right now, frustrations rising, distractions leading to disruptions, things you can’t ignore rising to the surface. On Thursday the 24th, Mercury finally begins moving in direct motion.

Earlier this week we had two quite stressful, challenging aspects in the sky. The first was the Mars-Pluto square which always heightens the combative energy of Mars. This is irrational anger and not caring about who you hurt, including yourself to achieve some sort of end. Its also about moving forward no matter what and overcoming all obstacles.

Mars-Pluto asks us about what we do with the pain and inflammation, do we bury it or do we allow it to be felt and exorcised? You may have felt like progress was finally made in some area of your life, maybe specifically around Taurean or Aquarian themes (look at the whole sign houses these rule in your chart). Or something was revealed to you that made you question, “Why am I putting so much effort into this?” Mars-Pluto asks us to fight for what we love and what we absolutely cannot be parted with, but not to lose ourselves in the process. It’s a balance.

I experienced this transit earlier this week as feeling more irritated than usual. Things that i had previously “let go” started to compound and I found myself feeling so enraged. It really only cleared in my body through catharsis and emotional purging, so I would encourage you to have a cry, allow the emotions to bubble through, or even sit down at your altar and talk to your deities about what you’re experiencing.

The astrology this week feels productive and like you are finally building things or getting around to the projects you’ve been saying you’re attending to. What loose ends are you tying up? Last week I mentioned that May 12th, a Tuesday will be a good final opportunity to do Mars in Aries type magicks, because this is the final Mars day with Mars in his home sign for a few months. And Mars will be in a great aspect to Venus this entire week, creating success in matters of love, action, and hopes of resolution. I recommend using this energy in spellwork to protect against or resolve conflict (Mars Sextile to Venus bringing harmony). As well as, releasing rage through ritual, fire magick of any kind, the creation of Martial protection wards, work with Archangel Michael, reversal work, evil eye removal. You could take a martial action such as dedicating a strategy meeting or workout to Mars or a Mars-Type deity or spirit. Last week I recommended a Red lipstick enchanting activity, so this could be another great opportunity to work that spell.

When I was in Egypt this winter we saw so many beautiful depictions of Nut. My favorite was in the sanctuary room in the Orisirion at Abydos. Nut is the Goddess of the Night Sky and the Stars as was seen as a protector to the Earth as well as the dead, which is why she’s on the ceiling of so many tombs in Egypt. Every night Nut swallows Ra, the sun God, and births him in the morning. She is also the mother of many important pantheon Gods, like Osiris and Isis namely.

Nut is often depicted as stretching her protective arms over Earth, representing the way the Milky Way Galaxy stretches across the sky and the zodiac. So I thought it would be weirdly perfect to make cosmic brownies as an offering to her. Trust me, Nut enjoyed these. After I offered them, I went to a full moon ritual my friend was holding and we all pulled oracle cards from a deity deck. I had no idea that Egyptian Goddesses were even included in the deck and was though roughly shocked when I pulled the Nut card. She was telling me the offering was good.

I worked on this recipe for some time. They had to be perfect and brownies are surprisingly difficult to capture. I served Nut’s Cosmic Brownies at a party recently and got raving reviews from everyone there including a “These don’t taste like boxed brownies in the best way.”

Ingredients & Procedure

Fudge Brownies:

10 tablespoons of salted butter, melted

1/2 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup granulated sugar

3 eggs & 1 egg yolk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes

Chocolate Ganache:

1 and 1/4 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup of heavy cream

Sprinkles to top (I used ones with Stars in them to really make this feel like the night sky/milky way galaxy)

Procedure:

Preheat oven to 350F. Melt butter and chocolate chips in 30 second increments in the microwave or heat on the stovetop. Then mix in the 1/2 cup of cocoa powder. Adding the powder to the hot butter mixture helps to bloom the cocoa and strengthens the flavor.

Mix 3 eggs and one egg yolk with the sugars till combined and then add vanilla extract. Add the butter/chocolate mixture to the egg/sugar. Fold in the flour until well combined, ensuring there are no lumps or pockets of flour anywhere in the batter.

Pour into a greased or parchment lined 8x8 inch pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until the brownies are set in the middle. They are very fudgy and will stay soft when baked. This is not the brownie recipe that you want the middle loose for. Let them cool for at least 45 minutes before adding the chocolate ganache.

To make the ganache, microwave heavy cream or heat on stovetop until the cream is steaming. Pour over chocolate chips in an even layer then let sit and cover with a teatowel for 5 minutes, so the chocolate melts with the heat of the cream. Whisk together until a you get a glossy ganache and pour overtop cooled brownies. Top with sprinkles. Allow the whole thing too cool down for a few hours. When the ganache is set and slice the brownies with a sharp knife.

Enjoy and over some to Nut by leaving them outside on a plate at night/in the window. Collect in the morning and discard or consume them on Nut’s behalf.

This is seriously the most decadent, perfect cosmic brownie recipe ever so I truly hope you give it a try.

Mercury moved into Taurus on Sunday which marks a stark difference to the hot-headed, blunt energy he’s been in the last few weeks in Aries. Mercury in Taurus can bring sweet, romantic, and tender communication, but agonizingly slow response times and lapses in conversation are also hallmarks of this transit. Try not to take being left on read personally, because Mercury in Taurus is careful consideration. But the planetary body itself is moving very fast and will eventually catch up to the Sun on May 14th for a Mercury Cazimi. So there’s a bit of a mixed energy of fast and slow going on with Mercury right now. Think of this as a productive time to plan, communicate, make writing or research progress, and release any throat blockages.

Taurus rules the throat, so you may feel called to sing, speak your mind, or generally move through trapped energy that could be preventing you from speaking truth. In Egypt this winter I got a pretty bad case of Bronchitis while I was traveling, I had to take antibiotics and it was a whole thing.

On Tuesday April 28th, Venus makes a trine to Pluto. All trines occur within the same element, that’s what constitutes the trine, is the elemental interconnectedness. Venus and Pluto are linked by air, by communication. Air allows fire to grow. It can also feel so conceptual and heady that it can block out all feelings of emotion or passion.
