It's a word I say daily, so much so that many people now know me as the gratitude girl.

But I wasn't always this intentional about gratitude.

There was a season when my heart was consumed by everything I couldn't afford. I spent so much time looking at what was out of reach that I overlooked the blessings already within my hands. It became a painful cycle: the more I focused on what I lacked, the more discouraged I became. And the more discouraged I became, the more I compared my life to what I didn't have.

One ordinary morning, while sitting quietly with my thoughts, something shifted.

It wasn't an audible voice, but a gentle whisper to my soul.

"You're chasing things that can never satisfy a heart that is hungry for purpose."

In that moment, I realized that what I truly needed wasn't more money, more possessions, or more achievements. What I needed was freedom—from comparison, from constant wanting, and from believing that my joy was waiting on the other side of acquiring something new.

That realization changed me.

I began to intentionally practice gratitude—not because my life suddenly became perfect, but because I finally saw how much I already had. Gratitude opened my eyes to blessings I had overlooked for so long: God's faithfulness, the gift of another day, people who genuinely love me, opportunities to grow, and peace that no amount of money could ever purchase.

Gratitude didn't change my circumstances overnight.

It changed my perspective.

And when your perspective changes, your heart begins to awaken. You stop measuring your life by what is missing and start celebrating what is present. You discover that abundance isn't always having more; sometimes it's finally recognizing that what you have is already enough for today.

That is why gratitude remains my daily language.

Not because every day is easy, but because every day holds a reason to give thanks.

Gratitude awakens the heart. And an awakened heart sees blessings everywhere.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" moments.

Following Jesus doesn't mean we'll never feel weary. It doesn't mean we'll never question tomorrow. Sometimes, even with faith, we find ourselves sitting in the middle of overwhelming thoughts, wondering if life will ever feel light again.

I've learned that faith isn't the absence of those thoughts.

Faith is choosing to hold on to God while they're happening.

Whenever I read Jeremiah 29:11, I don't hear a distant promise. I hear a Father speaking to a child who can't yet see the full picture.

"I know the plans I have for you."

Not you know.

I know.

There is so much comfort in those three words.

Because there will be seasons when I don't know what comes next.

I won't know why a prayer seems unanswered.

I won't know why a door closed.

I won't know why the waiting feels so long.

But God knows.

And sometimes, His knowledge is enough to keep me from giving up.

If you're reading this with a heavy heart—if you're tired, discouraged, or carrying thoughts that tell you your story is over—I want you to pause for a moment and remember this:

God has never abandoned the story He began in you.

Your pain is real, but it is not permanent.

Your emotions are valid, but they are not the final authority over your future.

There is still purpose ahead of you.

There is still healing ahead of you.

There is still joy ahead of you.

Please don't let a temporary season convince you to make a permanent decision.

The God who wrote your beginning has already seen your ending, and He promises that His thoughts toward you are filled with hope.

So today, if all you can do is breathe and whisper, "Lord, help me," let that be enough.

Keep breathing.

Keep trusting.

Keep becoming.

Because the One who knows the plans He has for you is still writing your story.

Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrr Everrrrrrrrr Ignore That Feeling That Tells You to Prayyyyyyyyyyy

My relationship with God hasn't always been a smooth ride.

Anike Sodeinde

My relationship with God hasn't always been a smooth ride.

Some days are beautiful. Some days are difficult. And some days, if I'm being honest, I simply go through the motions.

I grew up in a Christian family. My dad knows the Bible so well, and one thing I will always cherish is how he explains Scripture. During family devotions, every chapter we read became more than just words on a page. He had a way of breaking it down, making it practical, and helping me see how God's Word could shape my life. Those moments taught me a lot.

But growing up in a Christian home didn't automatically build my personal relationship with God.

That part was my responsibility.

For a long time, I struggled with consistency. I would set reminders on my phone, and whenever the alarm rang, it was my signal to pause and spend time with God. Some days I showed up willingly. Other days it felt like a struggle. Yet I kept trying because deep down, I know I cannot do this life on my own.

I need God.

Not just the version of Him I learned about from my parents, church, or friends. I need to know Him for myself. I need a relationship that is personal, real, and deeply rooted.

And I've noticed something: whenever I feel the urge to pray, whenever that gentle nudge comes, it's never random. It's often God's invitation to draw closer, to listen, to surrender, or simply to spend time with Him.

So now, I try not to ignore it.

Because my communication with God is filled with my desires, my fears, my questions, my gratitude, and even my silence. He already knows my heart, yet He still wants me to come to Him.

Maybe that's why prayer matters so much.

Not because we have the perfect words, but because every prayer is an opportunity to know God a little deeper than we did yesterday.

And maybe that's what becoming truly is.

Not becoming someone the world applauds, but becoming someone who recognizes the voice of God and responds to it.

Every prayer, every moment of surrender, every time I choose to seek Him even when consistency is difficult, I am becoming.

Becoming more aware of His presence.

Becoming more dependent on His grace.

Becoming more intentional in my faith.

This is not a story of perfection. It is a story of growth.

A story of learning that faith is not built in a day, but in the daily decision to return to God again and again.

So whatever you do, never ignore that feeling that tells you to pray.

Because perhaps God is not just calling you to pray.

Perhaps He is calling you to become.

<a class="image-link Then Saturday night comes, and the sleep feels different. Sweeter. Deeper. Your body finally whispers, "You've done enough for now."

And every Sunday, I find myself asking:

Why Sunday?

Why is it the one day I want to stay in bed a little longer?

Why does my body crave rest so much?

Maybe because God knew we would need it.

God told us to work. Work is good. Work puts food on the table. Work builds dreams. Work develops character. But God never intended for work to consume us completely.

Sunday reminds me that I am more than my productivity.

It reminds me that before I am a worker, a business owner, a reader, a dreamer, or a daughter, I am God's child.

Sometimes I feel like I don't give God enough time. I get busy chasing the things I'm praying for and forget to sit with the One who makes all things possible.

Perhaps that is why Sunday exists—not just for physical rest, but for spiritual renewal.

A day to pause.

A day to worship.

A day to remember that while work sustains life, God sustains the worker.

So this Sunday, I'm asking myself again:

Am I only resting my body, or am I also making room for God?

— Becoming Anike

The Difference Between Reading About Love and Experiencing It I listened to sermons about it. I heard stories from friends who were navigating relationships. I thought I understood what love was supposed to look like.

And in some ways, I did.

I knew that love was patient. I knew that love required sacrifice. I knew that communication mattered. I knew that trust was important.

At least, that’s what I had read.

But there is a difference between reading about love and experiencing it.

Reading about love teaches you principles.

Experiencing love teaches you yourself.

No book prepared me for the vulnerability of allowing someone to know me deeply. No chapter explained what it would feel like to care about someone’s well-being as much as my own. No author could fully describe the joy of feeling understood or the discomfort of being misunderstood.

Love moved from theory to reality.

And reality has a way of testing everything you thought you knew.

I discovered that relationships are not just about finding the right person. They are also about discovering who you become when another person enters your world.

I learned that I could be sensitive in ways I never noticed before.

I learned that I had expectations I never knew I carried.

I learned that communication is much harder than it sounds when emotions are involved.

Most importantly, I learned that love is not simply a feeling. They were written down, given to God's people, and became a guide for how they were meant to live.

Then my mind wandered to Jesus.

When Jesus came, He spoke about a new commandment—that we should love one another as He has loved us.

And honestly, it made me wonder.

If God is love, and if His love truly lives in us, wouldn't that love naturally keep us from doing many of the things the Ten Commandments warned against? If I genuinely love someone, why would I want to lie to them, steal from them, or intentionally hurt them?

The thought stayed with me for a while.

I'm not saying the Ten Commandments no longer matter. Rather, I'm wondering if love is the very thing they were pointing to all along. Maybe love isn't a replacement for God's commandments. Maybe it's the heart behind them.

As I reflected on it, I felt like God has always been after more than outward obedience. He has always wanted our hearts.

I'm still thinking about it. Still reading. Still learning.

But today, this is where my thoughts are resting:

If God is love, then perhaps the closer we grow to Him, the more love shapes our actions—and the less obedience feels like following rules and the more it becomes a natural response to knowing Him.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" Instead, I found a book that asked harder questions.

What happens when life doesn’t go according to plan? What keeps us moving when certainty disappears? Where does hope come from when circumstances offer very little of it?

One lesson stayed with me: hope is not something we feel; it is something we choose.

We live in a world that constantly promises comfort, yet many of us still wrestle with anxiety, disappointment, and unanswered questions. Mark Manson suggests that the problem isn’t our suffering—it’s our expectation that we should never suffer at all.

The truth is that every meaningful life carries its share of struggles. Every dream demands patience. Every season of growth asks us to endure some discomfort.

Perhaps hope isn’t found in the absence of hardship. Perhaps it is found in the decision to keep showing up anyway.

To keep believing. To keep building. To keep trusting that today’s chapter is not the entire story.

As I turned the pages, I found myself reflecting on how often we wait for perfect conditions before moving forward. Yet some of the most beautiful transformations happen in uncertain seasons.

Maybe that’s what hope really is: not certainty about the future, but courage for the present.

Lately, I’ve been thinking deeply about the power of mindset and how much it shapes the way we live our lives.

There’s someone very dear to my heart, and one of the things I admire most about him is the way he thinks. He carries this mindset that constantly reminds me that there is almost nothing impossible for a person who truly believes in themselves. Even in moments where things seem uncertain, difficult, or beyond reach, he still speaks with confidence about what he can become, what he can build, and what he can achieve.

And honestly, watching that changed something in me.

At first, I used to wonder if it was too much confidence, but I realized it wasn’t pride at all. Pride speaks from ego. This comes from belief. The kind of belief that tells you to keep moving even when nobody claps for you yet. The kind that allows you to dream before the evidence appears. The kind that helps you continue when life becomes heavy.

Mindset is powerful.

The way your mind works affects everything — the way you handle disappointment, the way you approach opportunities, the way you see failure, and even the way you see yourself. Two people can stand in the same situation and still experience life differently simply because of the way they think.

I’ve realized that many people are not limited by lack of talent but by the limits they have placed on their minds. Sometimes we talk ourselves out of opportunities before we even try. Sometimes fear convinces us that we are incapable before life even tests us.

But what happens when your mind begins to believe differently?

What happens when you wake up every day and decide that growth is possible for you too? That healing is possible. Success is possible. Becoming more is possible.

I think one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is a healthy mindset. Because before anything changes externally, something usually changes internally first. Your thoughts. Your perspective. Your belief system.

A strong mindset will carry you through seasons where motivation disappears. It will hold you together in moments where results are not showing yet. It will remind you who you are when doubt tries to speak louder than purpose.

And maybe that’s why mindset matters so much to me now.

Because I’m learning that the mind is like soil — whatever you constantly plant in it eventually grows. If you feed it fear, doubt grows. If you feed it faith, courage grows. If you feed it possibility, your life slowly begins to stretch beyond the limits you once accepted.

I’m still learning. Still growing. Still unlearning certain fears and limitations. But one thing I know now is this:

The way you think can either imprison you or free you.

And sometimes, believing in yourself before the world does is the very beginning of becoming who you were meant to be.

There was a time in my life when reading felt effortless. I could finish a whole book in a day and still feel hungry for another one. Books were not just something I did occasionally; they were a part of my daily rhythm. I was constantly learning, reflecting, growing, highlighting pages, writing notes, and allowing words to shape the way I saw life.

But lately, life has become fuller and busier.

Work takes most of my day, responsibilities wait for no one, and by the time I finally have a moment to myself, my body is tired even when my mind still longs to grow. I noticed that the version of me who once read consistently has slowly become someone who barely finishes a book, and honestly, that realization has been difficult for me.

Sometimes I sit with that thought and quietly ask myself:

“What happened to that girl?”

“Did the habit die?”

“Did I lose a part of myself somewhere between surviving and being busy?”

And maybe this is something many people do not talk about enough — the grief of watching yourself drift away from habits that once made you feel alive.

I used to think habits disappeared suddenly, but now I realize they fade gradually. One missed day becomes one missed week. One postponed chapter becomes months of unread books sitting quietly beside your bed. Not because you stopped loving the habit, but because life became louder than the discipline that once sustained it.

It made me realize something important:

whatever we stop feeding will slowly weaken.

Growth is beautiful, but growth also requires maintenance. The habits we admire in ourselves need attention, consistency, and intentionality. And when life becomes overwhelming, the first things we often abandon are the very things that nourish us internally.

But I’m learning not to judge myself too harshly for it.

Maybe this season is not proof that I failed. Maybe it is simply proof that I am human. Seasons change. Capacity changes. Responsibilities increase. And sometimes we outgrow routines before learning how to rebuild them again in a healthier way.

So instead of mourning the old version of myself endlessly, I want to gently find my way back.

Maybe I cannot read a book a day anymore.

Maybe I can only read a few pages before bed.

Maybe consistency looks different now.

And maybe that is okay.

Because habits can be rebuilt.

Passion can return.

Discipline can be relearned.

And the parts of us we miss are sometimes only waiting for an invitation to come alive again.

So this is me choosing not to give up on myself.

One page at a time.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" already crowded, and they couldn’t get through the door. But instead of giving up, they climbed to the rooftop, made an opening, and lowered the man down to Jesus.

That part stayed with me.

Their faith was so strong that obstacles didn’t stop them. They truly believed that if they could just get him to Jesus, something would change.

What I’m learning

Sometimes faith looks like persistence.

Sometimes it looks like carrying someone when they can’t carry themselves.

And sometimes it means refusing to quit even when the way forward looks blocked.

What touched me most was that the man wasn’t alone. He had people willing to help him reach healing.

My reflection

Reading this made me think about the kind of people we surround ourselves with.

Do we have people who help bring us closer to God?

Do we have faith strong enough to keep moving, even when things seem difficult?

I’m learning that faith is not always loud. Sometimes it’s simply choosing not to stop.

A small prayer

God, strengthen my faith.

Help me trust You even when the way seems blocked.

And let me be the kind of person who helps others get closer to You.

—

Chapter by chapter.

Lesson by lesson.

Grace by grace.

<a class="image-link image2 length="0" type="image/jpeg"/>

This May, I started reading the Gospel of Mark.

Not to rush through chapters or “finish a study,” but to truly pay attention to who Jesus is, how He lived, and what following Him actually looks like in everyday life.

So I decided to document the journey here.

These reflections are not from a place of having everything figured out. They’re coming from someone who is still learning, still growing, still becoming.

And maybe that’s the beauty of it.

Mark 1 Reflection

I just started reading the Gospel of Mark, and one thing stood out almost immediately.

Jesus was busy. People were searching for Him, needing Him, pulling on Him from every side. But in the middle of all that, He still chose to step away—to be alone and pray.

That detail stayed with me.

What I’m learning

It’s easy to assume that busyness means progress. But Jesus didn’t let activity replace intimacy with God. If anything, He protected it.

And it made me ask myself:

What do I prioritize when my day gets full?

My reflection

I’ve noticed that I often jump straight into my day work, phone, responsibilities—without grounding myself first. I tell myself I’ll “find time later,” but later doesn’t always come.

Reading this made me realize something simple but important: becoming the person I want to be won’t happen by accident. It will require intention—especially in how I begin my day.

Even if it’s just a few quiet minutes.

A small prayer

God, help me choose You first.

Even on busy days, even when my mind is full.

Teach me to slow down and seek You before anything else.

—

This is the beginning of my journey through Mark.

Chapter by chapter.

Lesson by lesson.

Grace by grace.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" to show up everywhere in your life.

Think about this: you decide you want a particular kind of car. Suddenly, you start seeing that same model everywhere—on the road, in parking lots, even in conversations. It feels almost uncanny, like the universe just responded to your desire overnight.

But did those cars magically appear?

Not at all. They were always there.

What changed wasn’t the world—it was your awareness.

Before that moment, your brain simply filtered them out as irrelevant. But the second you attached meaning to that car—when it became a goal, a desire, something personal—your mind adjusted. It began to scan your environment differently, picking up what it had previously ignored.

This is how focus works.

When you clearly define your goals, you’re not just making a wish—you’re giving your brain instructions. You’re telling it, “This matters now.” And your mind responds by highlighting opportunities, people, ideas, and patterns that align with that focus.

It’s almost like putting on a new pair of glasses. The world doesn’t change, but what you notice does.

This is where many people misunderstand the “law of attraction.” It’s not just about thinking positively and expecting things to fall into your lap. It’s about training your perception—directing your attention toward what matters so you can recognize and act on it.

Clarity creates visibility.

Once you know what you’re looking for, you start to see possibilities that were always within reach: the right conversations, the helpful resources, the creative ideas that move you forward.

So instead of waiting for life to shift in your favor, define what you want with intention. Fear creeps in. Doubt gets louder. You begin to feel like you’re not enough for what is in front of you.

But in that moment, I’m learning something different… something deeper.

Instead of panicking, I choose to believe God’s Word.

The Bible reminds me that His grace is sufficient for me, and His strength is made perfect in my weakness. That means I don’t have to rely on my own understanding or ability alone. I can pause, breathe, and allow His grace to work through me.

Grace is not just a concept—it is help. It is strength. It is divine assistance showing up exactly when I feel least capable.

So when I feel worried or afraid, I don’t run from the moment—I lean into God.

I allow grace to guide my thoughts.

I allow grace to calm my heart.

I allow grace to speak through me.

And suddenly, what felt impossible becomes doable.

Today, I remind myself:

I will not let fear take the lead.

I will let grace work for me.

Because God is with me, even in the moments I feel unsure.

And that is more than enough.
<div treated, but one that reflects God Himself. A love that is patient, selfless, forgiving, and unwavering.

God calls love the greatest commandment, and that alone says everything. Love is not optional—it is foundational. It is also a fruit of the Spirit, meaning it grows in us as we walk closely with Him.

So the question becomes: how do we truly love like God?

It begins with surrender—allowing God to shape our hearts, our reactions, and our intentions. Choosing love even when it’s difficult. Extending grace even when it’s undeserved. Showing kindness even when it’s not returned.

God-kind love is not natural—it is spiritual. And the more we stay connected to God, the more this love becomes our way of life.

This chapter is a reminder that love is not just something we feel—it’s something we live.

And when we learn to love God’s way, we are already walking in victory.

Reflection: What is one situation today where you can choose God-kind love over your feelings?

Learning to love beyond feelings… choosing God’s way, one day at a time.

The Human Side Of Us

Part 2: When Effort Isn’t Shared Equally

Anike Sodeinde

Part 2: When Effort Isn’t Shared Equally

There’s something deeply revealing about working together as a team.

We started the project with the same goal — to finish on time, to contribute our parts, to make it work. And for the most part, everyone showed up. Effort was given. Energy was spent. It felt like we were in it together.

Until it was time to clean up.

Suddenly, excuses began to surface.

“I’m tired.”

“I’m not feeling well.”

And just like that, a few people stepped away, leaving the rest of us to finish what was never meant to be a one-sided responsibility.

We stayed. We pushed through. I assumed that what I felt was mutual. That if I showed up for them, they would show up for me too.

But life has a way of revealing the truth gently… and sometimes painfully.

Some people you call friends don’t actually see you the same way. Not because you did something wrong, but because you cared deeper, you invested more, and you believed in a connection that, to them, was never that serious.

And that realization? It’s hard.

It makes you question yourself.

“Am I too much?”

“Am I expecting too much?”

“Why is it so hard for me to find real friends?”

But here’s the truth I’m learning:

It’s not your job to shrink your heart just because others don’t know how to hold it.

Stop overrating people who haven’t earned that place in your life. Not everyone deserves front-row access to your energy, your thoughts, your loyalty.

Some people are meant to be acquaintances.

Some are just passing through.

And a few — a very few — are meant to stay.

And that’s okay.

You don’t have to force connections.

You don’t have to prove your worth.

And you definitely don’t have to keep rating people who never even put you on their list.

Protect your heart.

Be kind, but be discerning.

Give your energy where it is seen, felt, and returned.

Because the right people?

They won’t make you question where you stand.

They’ll remind you — without effort.

Living the 100/0 Life

While reading The Compound Effect, I came across the principle of giving 100/0 — showing up fully without expecting anything in return. At first, I thought it applied mostly to relationships. But the more I reflected, the more I realized: this principle can shape every area of life.

Giving 100/0 is a mindset. It is choosing excellence, integrity, and intentional living, even when no one is watching, clapping, or rewarding you.

1. In Personal Growth

Giving 100/0 means showing up for yourself daily — reading, learning, reflecting, improving — without immediate results. It’s trusting that small daily efforts will compound over time. You don’t grow for applause; you grow because you value who you are becoming.

2. In Work and Career

It means giving your best effort, even when recognition is delayed. It’s working with excellence, honesty, and discipline, not just for promotion or pay, but for personal integrity. Your character becomes your brand.

3. In Relationships

It means loving intentionally, serving genuinely, listening deeply, and forgiving freely. It’s loving without keeping score. But it also means giving from a place of wholeness, not self-neglect. Healthy love is selfless, but it also respects boundaries.

4. In Family and Friendships

It means being present, supportive, understanding, and dependable — not because you must, but because you choose to. It’s showing up in moments of joy and in seasons of difficulty.

5. In Faith and Purpose

Giving 100/0 means living a life of service, gratitude, humility, and obedience. It’s giving your time, talents, and resources without expecting praise, trusting that purpose is bigger than personal comfort.

6. In Character and Integrity

It means choosing what is right even when it is hard. It’s living honestly, kindly, and responsibly — even when shortcuts seem easier.

The Deeper Truth

Giving 100/0 is not about being used. It is about becoming.

When you give fully in every area of life, you slowly transform into someone disciplined, dependable, resilient, loving, and wise. The reward is not just success — it is character.

Because in the end, life does not only reward what we achieve.

It rewards who we become.

And that is the real compound effect.

T.H.O.G- The Help of God

None of us is truly self-made, no matter how convincing the story of independence may sound.

Anike Sodeinde

None of us is truly self-made, no matter how convincing the story of independence may sound. Behind every achievement, every breakthrough, and every season of progress is the unseen but undeniable help of God. We may plan, strive, and work tirelessly, but it is God who orders our steps and gives meaning to our labour.

Scripture reminds us: “I lift up my eyes to the hills where does my help come from?”

The answer is clear and humbling: “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Labour is good. Hard work is honorable. Discipline, consistency, and skill are necessary tools for growth. But labour alone is never enough. Effort without divine help can lead to exhaustion, pride, or frustration. Help true help comes from God. It is the difference between striving and flourishing.

One of the greatest mistakes we make is believing that our skills, experience, intelligence, or even our team will ultimately secure the future we desire. These things matter, but they are not the foundation. When we trust them more than we trust God, we subtly shift from dependence to self-reliance and self-reliance has limits.

God never called us to do life alone. He invites us to ask for help—not only in moments of crisis, but in everyday decisions, quiet battles, and unseen struggles. Asking God for help is not a sign of weakness; it is an act of faith and humility. It is an acknowledgment that we do not see the full picture, but He does.

Jesus made this invitation simple and bold: “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” These words are not reserved for emergencies. They are a lifestyle. A posture of the heart that says, “Lord, I need You—always.”

We must learn to ask often. To pray continually. To involve God in our plans, our work, our dreams, and our uncertainties. When help comes and it always does let us be quick to give glory back to the One who made it possible.

In the end, our story is not one of self-made success, but of grace-assisted progress. Every win, every lesson, every open door is evidence of T.H.O.G—the Help of God.
