About a week before going to Bend, a friend of mine shared that she was going to take sailing lessons. I’d never considered this and thought that was pretty cool and brave of her. She lost her husband suddenly last fall, who was a co-assistant coach with my husband for our son’s baseball team for several years, and someone embedded in our school community.

The morning after the celebration, which was my mom’s birthday, we went back to the the property, where the event had been, to collect some things we’d left behind, some treasures offered to us and to help the family break down the event. At the end, one of my cousins took me across the field to David’s boat that had just been offered to our family. A few years ago my parents sold their house and purchased a small raw plot of land along the Columbia River for our family to share. We’d been talking about some day maybe getting a boat, but a sailboat wasn’t on our radar. None of us have any experience sailing.

Interestingly, three years ago to the exact day of Steve and David’s Celebration of Life, my son reached down in a sea of clover that morning to pick his first and only 4 leaf clover. It was the day before my mom’s birthday and the anniversary of her sister’s passing. It was also the day we found this magical plot of land, which was a long time family dream, particularly of my grand mother’s, who’s in spirit. I know she and other family members in spirit were involved in helping this happen.

So the timing was pretty magically aligned! All this as well as my friend who’d just signed up for sailing lessons and told me just before the visit.

Even though sailing and owning a sailboat wasn’t at all on my radar, and the idea seemed a bit overwhelming, it felt like maybe all of these things were signs to lean in, and I was intrigued. We discussed it as a family and my brother right away knew it wasn’t for him. It would need to be one of us in our generation that would spearhead it. So when he was definitive about that, I was a little surprised by a clear invitation that seemed to open up in me.

I was intimidated, but my intimidation didn’t outweigh my curiosity, and as I started to think this idea through and begin to research, a little fire started to light in my heart.

So I had a little conversation with David in the sprit realm and asked him to show me the way and if it was to be, for his dream of learning to sail, to blossom and blend into becoming a dream he inspired in me, that the process of discovery be easeful, magical and clear.

I connect with people who’ve passed away many times a week, almost always for clients I’ve never met, and bring through clear evidence of their loved ones who’ve crossed over, their personalities, often how they passed, and beautiful support and healing for their living loved one who is sitting across from me in my office or somewhere else in the world online. So reaching out to connect with David in the spirit world is not an unusual thing for me, but connecting with those I already know, particularly family, is a different kind of experience, often less clear and more of a felt sense. It was sweet.

As I was talking this idea through with my husband last week, we thought that the first step was to get me on a sailboat so I could even see if I liked the experience. I maybe was on one as a small child but beyond that, I’d had no experience. He remembered we have a friend with a sailboat but last he’d heard, it was up in the San Juan Islands. I reached out right then to explain the situation and see if he might be willing to take me out so I could experience it and see if it felt like a fit. He wrote back immediately and was encouraging and excited about the Windrose 18. He’d grown up sailing a very similar boat. Turned out his boat was in Portland and he was going out in three days before being unable to do so for several weeks and invited me on board.

I had a GREAT time, asked lots of questions and continued to feel inspired. I loved the feeling of harnessing the raw power of the wind and the dance of balancing all the different things that need tending. He has a 30’ boat which is very different from an 18’ boat, but it was an important part of my discovery experience.

Interestingly I’d just been talking to my therapist about a week and a half before about my days in the fashion industry and the part of me that loves adventure and that sense of raw power - riding the wave of adrenaline that was part of that world. How that sense had manifested in different ways in my life through the years, and in that conversation I was discovering that I was ready to shift into a new creative way of experiencing that sensation of connection. Being on the boat seemed to be such a clear answer to this desire, just landing in my lap.

And again, the timing…✨

So the next step was to sort out how to assess the status of this Windrose 18. What shape is it in, is it even possible to use it?

There isn’t a lot of sailing in the Bend area, I learned, so there aren’t any marine surveyors to come out and give an official report on the status of the boat. But I found in my research that at Elk Lake Resort there is a marina and this is where sailing happens. I called and asked if they could connect me with the experts there to see if they could recommend someone in the community who might be able to take a look. They pointed me in the direction of their facebook page and so I made a post explaining the potential inheritance and asking for help. Right away a man named Cal wrote back and shared that he knows his way around boats and, in fact, actually owned a Windrose 18. Wow! Another amazing piece unfolding quickly and beautifully. Not only that but it turned out that he lives close to my cousin and was available that evening to come take a look. I offered to compensate him for his time and expertise and he said there was no need, he was happy to help. Wow. So I connected him with my cousin and within a couple hours he was there.

My mom happened to come by my house in Portland right then and within minutes of her arriving, I got a FaceTime call from my cousin. Cal was handed the phone and said with a big smile on his face, “I was prepared to give you some bad news, but that’s not what I have for you. This boat is in great shape!” And he took us through the boat for about an hour explaining the parts and their condition, how it has been modified and has some really nice upgrades. David had clearly put some love into the boat and it was really cool to see that and see Cal’s passionate excitement too. He said it needs new sails, transom (the spot that holds the engine) and new tires on the trailer. Otherwise everything is ready to go.

This has all been happening so quickly! I went sailing last Monday and that conversation happened the next night. I was so excited, I just said yes right away to the opportunity, a little tear filled on that call.

It has been an emotionally potent experience, this adventure and full of gifts. At any turn there could be a part of the situation that could be a deal breaker and opening my heart to this budding potential of a dream that’s been inspired and initiated by David and his living siblings who’ve offered his boat has felt exciting and also a bit vulnerable in such an alive meaning filled way that I’ve been opening my heart to. But every part so far has been magically laying itself out in front of me in such a lovely way.

I’d love to honor David’s dream, see if it might become mine and maybe even my family’s too, and give it a try. I love the idea of envisioning memories made together out on the water, learning a new skill inspired by my cousin with the gift of his labor and his dream, honoring the elements and being close to nature and those we love who are no longer with us.

So when I awoke in the night with a clear sense to write about this and invite you to be on the journey with me, it felt like yet another piece that was falling into my lap. I’ve signed up for sailing lessons that start next week. I hope I find it to be invigorating and fun.

The light on the water at this moment is milky, swaying and full of subtle color as it sways and dances. It is incredibly clear, full of bright beautiful life and warm in a way that is hard to describe. The sun rises and sets here on this beach. We get to experience both each day.

To disconnect from the daily flow of how my life has formed these past few years, let go of my responsibilities and fully step away into another country, far from the US, has been healing. Having a young child and Covid have kept us closer to home these past years. It is lovely to peel back the layers and remember the freedom that releasing habitual patterns can bring. I have noticed how complicated and over planned our lives have become - or my life has become. It has felt like every hour, every minute has been accounted for and to have the openness of connecting with this place, its slower gentle rhythm, the life of the animals and plants, water and people is like returning to a home I’d forgotten long ago and that lives like a memory in my bones.

We have been swimming with fantastically beautiful brightly colored fish in the clearest of waters among healthy thriving coral. I got to swim just about as close as you can get alongside an old beautiful turtle, its eye looking deeply into mine as we moved together toward the surface. It was magical. We’ve snorkeled in shallow waters with baby sharks and walked among Komodo Dragons on Komodo Island, seen a family of monkeys on a pink sand beach, thousands of huge “flying fox” bats, and more. What an adventure.

I sit here now at sunrise in Nusa Penida, a tiny island off the southern coast of Bali, Indonesia. It may come as a surprise, but we have family here in Bali. I have not seen them since my brother’s wedding 16 years ago to Yuli, who is from a tiny town called Dousa in the north of Bali near Singaraja. Over those years, I have grown to deeply love my sister in law, and have seen her sisters, brother, mom, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews in passing on video calls but have not spent time with them or spoken the same language. Covid kept us from visiting when we planned to go last time in March of 2020. But being here all these years later, I am hit with such an unexpected and big wave of deep love for these people. We have found our way through a strong mutual current of shared love to connect beyond the few words we have in common. I knew we were here in large part to connect with Yuli’s family, but I didn’t realize I’d be expanding my heart so much with this love and I find myself tearing up as I write this, recognizing the joy and the vulnerability of it. I see now with an unwavering clarity that they are my family too and I am now bound by a love that will open layers of meaning and belonging in my soul and in theirs. I am so grateful.

Last night I learned that Yuli’s sister Rina, an incredible massage therapist, has to leave the country and move to Romania to work (there is a large population of Balinese massage therapists and appreciation for the style there). This is a sad thing, she would never leave her family if she didn’t have to go, like many Balinese people. There is very little work in Bali now after Covid and tourism has fallen so much. People are really struggling to survive. My heart aches for her and her family and I also know what an incredible thing it has been to have Yuli in our family, so perhaps some lovely unknown things await her on her adventures.

The sun has now reached above the clouds and is getting too bright and hot to stay at this table so I will sign off for now and look forward to connecting again soon. I will leave you with a photo from last night from my brother’s birthday celebration. He couldn’t be happier than to be here to celebrate with his Balinese family. It was such a delight to be surrounded by their energy, songs and love.

This day was not what I had expected, but of course it had been forming quietly under the surface over time in that magical way that only becomes clear once the steps are being revealed to me in layers as I am ready to see them.

It began at my son’s aikido class, a few years ago. I was sitting with the other parents watching the children move through their practice when I found myself in easy conversation with another mom. I knew her, but not well. As we talked something shifted in the air between us. I felt the unmistakable warmth of spirit connection arriving, quite powerful and clear, and we slipped into a small side room where we could really be with what was unfolding.

A presence came through with immediacy and force, clear and specific and full of personality. There was warmth in his energy, and directness, and a humor that felt completely like him. I shared what I was receiving and watched the familiar wash of undeniable recognition bloom in her being.

Atawi Art Mcconville, a powerful Tribal healer was coming through. Art was instrumental in creating and founding the Water Ceremonies that now bring together many bands of indigenous people each year to gather in community and heal the waters at Cathedral Park on the Willamette River.

Cassie shared with me that around age 40 Art got a job on the Warm Springs Reservation in their Cultural Resources Department collecting stories from elders. Around that same time, Cassie shared that 70 aunties decided it was his time to learn how to connect with Creator to become the healer he was intended to be. After dedicated training, the elders knew when it was his time to face Creator, to receive his first song, to relieve himself of all fear and negative self talk and to trust his spirit to connect to the Creator. It was in this first moment he made the commitment for life to always protect and heal his people and this is when he received his powerful healing gifts from Creator.

He had just crossed over, and she was navigating the particular ache of losing someone who had been both mentor and anchor, whose influence had stretched far and whose absence was being felt widely and deeply. His energy that day was unmistakably alive, present, and loving.

It was a powerful moment, and not very common for me to step into spirit connection when not in session. But his energy was not going to miss the opportunity to communicate and was very clearly connected to the flow of healing energy I invite to come through me in service of the highest good for all.

Cassie came to see me in my office over the following year and Art came through loud and clear. We have seen each other in passing and she’s invited me to be at the Water Ceremony since that happened but it never seemed to align with my schedule.

Then about a week ago I ran into her at a Girls on the Run event, both of us there cheering children on. She shared that the Water Ceremony was happening the following weekend, that there would be a grief ceremony and invited me to come and participate. I had already committed to spending that weekend with three other powerful healer friends, with ceremonial intention to be together along the Columbia River, with the land and water, getting powered up to serve in our respective ways. I felt the familiar pang of missing this event again, but was committed to the plan of sharing space with these women.

A couple weeks prior when the explosion happened at the paper mill in Longview, Washington, I’d reached out to these women and asked if we could specifically focus on healing the water and life in the Columbia River that toxic chemicals had seeped into from the explosion. We would be about 20 minutes down river from where that happened and the potency of being that close felt timely and important to honor the healing we could bring.

Then, as the weekend approached, something began to shift. One by one, things came up for each of us. Someone had food poisoning the night before we were to gather, someone else accidentally put it on the calendar for a different day, I learned my niece would be graduating that day and didn’t want to miss it, the weather turned to a full day of rain where we were headed. The original plan was softening and releasing the way things do when energy is redirecting. Even though we all deeply wanted to be together, we each recognized what was happening. The energy was changing direction and asking us to follow.

As soon as I recognized this, I said to the text thread, “💕💕💕 yes let’s follow the energy! 💚” And as I felt into what the shift was opening, it became completely clear - OF COURSE - the Water Ceremony!

I immediately reached out to Cassie to ask if it would be welcome for us to come and if we could offer to contribute to the grief ceremony. It was an immediate yes. She connected me with the three other healers who had put heart, thought and love into the grief ceremony and they beautifully welcomed us into the planning and delivery. From there everything unfolded with that particular ease that I have learned to recognize as spirit led guidance.

It all happened so quickly, that it took a moment for me to realize.

Our healing water intentions belonged in greater community at this event rather than up river on our own.

What an amazing organizer and orchestrator you are. Thank you Art.

Now we return to the grief ceremony. By the time afternoon arrives, the earlier dancing ceremony has ended, the drums quieted, the energy shifting. We have woven our way into the day gradually, my four healer friends and I, and now three of us step into what we came to offer alongside the three women who had invited us to join them.

Beneath the tall trees and the magnificent arc of the St. Johns Bridge, we move in and out between each other, honoring grief in its many forms and the many ways it lives individually, in community, in the rivers across lands and lifetimes. A few minutes in, my friend AmberJane, a powerful Native healer herself, beautifully calls in the directions, our allies and lands us all home at this water’s edge in a way that feels potent and provides a level of truth hard to sometimes feel in our active busy lives. We later stand at the microphone together and sing spontaneously, letting the notes find what words can’t reach.

We take a moment, the four of us, before we go our separate ways, to walk down to the water’s edge. We make our blessings and our prayers and offer our healing intentions and energies to the river, to all the life within it, to everything downstream and beyond.

I feel so honored to have been invited. So grateful to the ancestors for bringing me into a place where I can both contribute and receive. Grateful to Cassie for her trust, Art for his, my healer friends for theirs and this primarily indigenous community for theirs too. And I am also grateful for your trust.

The experience of the day continues to moves through me, reverberating and reaching into my cells to reform and heal. Art and your spirit teams and I now offer its ripples of presence and healing to the waters that run through your body. Let them be with you for a few moments or a few hours. When you’re ready, let them expand into people, plants, animals, all life.

We invite you to take some time in these next days in whatever ways help you feel most present to fully receive this offering. ✨

This is what I know to be true: we are all in this together. And together we are stronger, more joyful, more clear, more loving than any of us could be on our own. We each belong no matter where we come from, where we live, what our ancestries are. We belong in a way that is deeper and more profound than any individuality.

And when we listen and follow where the energy is leading, amazing things, greater than we could imagine, present themselves to us in blossoming majestic alignment.

The store attendant who was nearby, came closer as the sound stopped and commented to me that he’d never experienced that. Interesting. Why do you think he he was drawn to me, and drawn to share that?

I’ve had technology go a bit haywire due to spirit connection before. Usually that is during a session when spirit connection is actively happening. A light flickers, the phone line gets wonky and we actually hear someone else’s conversation, the computer glitches out in a stand-out way. But I’ve never had something so major happen and certainly not while I’m not actively in session.

This is a wild week of spirit connection though. I had an audience reading for 50 people the night before last, that I do twice a year and donate proceeds to The Dougy Center to help grieving children and families, followed by the small group last night. I’ve got four sessions I’m about to jump into today and more to come including another online audience reading this coming Saturday. That is a lot of group sessions in one week. I wouldn’t have planned it that way but life unfolds in mysterious ways and this is how it landed. So perhaps the energy is just really potent right now and continuing to reverberate through.

Mediumship and spirit connection has a way of drawing the deepest truths out of us, of returning us to what we already know but have been too distracted, afraid or unseen to trust. It knocks my socks off over and over again to facilitate and witness its medicine.

I have known for a long time that what happens in these sessions doesn’t belong only to the people in the room. This podcast is me fulfilling a request from the spirit world to begin to share their wisdom, healing and validation with the world.

My child self knew the truth of this work. She could feel stagnant energy and pain in people and knew she could help them heal. I realize, much to my delight, that there is another big room off the side that I had sensed before but couldn’t see. I am filled with excitement and can’t wait to use it, imagining all the ways we can bring life and creativity to that space. And then I realize that we have access to the attic this time which I couldn’t somehow get to last time. We journey up a ramp, almost like an old narrow stone hallway in a castle, and when we get to the top I am both delighted with the steepled roof and windows on either end and disappointed to see that the beautiful space won’t be able to be built out or lived in because the ceiling is too low. Then I see that the person with me is not standing on the floor but rather standing on thousands of vertically stacked window blinds which are about five feet tall, left from the previous owner who manufactured them. I am beside myself with excitement realizing that instead of a cramped room, this is an enormously spacious room with really tall ceilings! The story goes on in much the same way.

This dream coming on the heels of the article I posted yesterday about releasing my fears of exposure after my fashion industry adventures, which I highly recommend you read, feels like an amazing validation of this transition I am moving through.

Thanks loves and keep DREAMING BIG!!

I see, in the reflection of my computer screen, the silhouette of a bird briefly land on a branch, the sky behind it brilliant blue with sparse clouds drifting across a sliver of sky while this southern wind kisses my skin. The tall trees above are ancient guardians, knowing more than any of us as they gently, patiently watch our joys and sorrows pass beneath them.

Later I will board the plane back to Portland. In the meantime, I’ve been making my way through the cobwebs of resistance to growth and change that have slowly been surfacing. Having some spaciousness here in Austin, TX, time and availability of thought to journey into the duality of excitement and discomfort has been lovely and necessary.

I’ll soon be launching Muses of a Medium, the podcast. I’ll be sharing powerful client sessions and meaningful conversations and I’m so excited. For years I’ve known this has been coming. Another medium friend told me about 8 years ago this was a direction for me, yet something in me wasn’t ready. It has been an interesting growth edge these recent months to expand the energetic container of my work and my own personal readiness as I wade through my feelings about the potential of inviting more visibility.

When I was in the fashion industry, my journey got a LOT of attention and it was intense. During that journey I was riding on the energy of excitement and the world saying “YES” through all the incredible synchronicities and forward momentum.

In the process of all that excitement, attention and momentum, my dreams blended with all the wishes and dreams of many. Less knowledgeable about reading energy then, I gave myself entirely over, taking more responsibility than was mine for trying to save the world as best I could. I was doing this through being an early influencer in the fashion industry, bringing sustainability actively into the forefront of the conversation through high fashion design and branding, which hadn’t yet been done. Though this was a noble cause and I was using my talent and experience for something I was truly passionate about and the world was ready for, I gave more of myself than was sustainable and I paid the price.

I stopped salsa dancing, one of the most joyful things my body and spirit loved to do. I stopped doing yoga, or my morning running routine. I stopped making time for friendships. I gave all my money to my business and other’s money too. It just felt so incredibly important, like the universe was asking me to step up to this incredible opportunity and be this change agent to help heal the natural systems that we all depend upon and I willingly and excitedly did it. It felt WAY more important to respond to Vogue or NY Times or WWD (that story here) who wanted me to send samples in a few days, or to jump on a plane to show my collection somewhere, even though I wasn’t ready yet, which meant working mad hours to show up and deliver.

When that rollercoaster ride of incredible momentum downshifted, even though my work life still was really cool, I had a deep desire to hide away, repair and rebuild myself. Don’t get me wrong. It was INCREDIBLE. I was living a dream for sure. But along the way I gave up too much of the core of what sustains me and it took a long time to rebuild and learn the valuable lessons being offered from that journey. I also felt responsible for showing up for other people’s dreams and desires who were watching my journey and cheering me on. That had its own flavor of intensity.

When mediumship unfolded in my life, it was clear that in order to facilitate spirit connection, I needed to be in right relationship with the vessel of my body and spirit. No over giving. No doubting. I could not take on responsibilities that didn’t belong to me. It literally wouldn’t work. I learned that the quality of my spirit connection is dependent upon the balanced system of my life, energy, my own spiritual connection. Making sure my joy is prioritized, that the vessel of my body is cared for. That my family is cared for and that I am in a loving relationship with nature and with community.

So this time, as I come into this new chapter of sharing more and casting my net wider through this upcoming podcast and in other ways (see below), I’m staying present, grounded and clear. I’m prioritizing joy. Moving my body, playing with my kiddo, communing with the trees, staying connected to my spirit team and I know that will provide an even more rewarding and powerful container for all who touch this work.

And now for you, my love.

At the beginning of group sessions I often ask attendees to make sure to prioritize caring for themselves, explaining that if you need to stand, sit on the floor, use the restroom, cry, shake, close your eyes, please do it. Honoring whatever it is that you desire and need to do will actually help sustain and enhance the energy of our spirit connection. The opposite is true as well. If you compromise your wellbeing (for what you might mistakenly think is a benefit to the group), it will actually create a less activated and aligned energy for you individually and for the whole.

My friends, this is true of LIFE in general.

But many layers of our culture have trained us to sacrifice ourselves in order to serve the whole. Can anyone relate? And yes, a reasonable amount of giving is necessary in community when we agree to support and sustain each other. But we often over-give or hold on tight and don’t share what we could. FEAR, in its many forms, being the underlying reason. If we are paying attention and we are brave enough to look inward and feel, we know when we are about to cross an internal line. So instead of allowing fear to lead and breaking trust with ourselves by crossing it, let’s do this…

Can we all give ourselves 🌈 PERMISSION RIGHT NOW ⭐️ to smile when we feel the edge of that line, thank ourselves for the valuable internal nudge and HONOR it? Let’s give ourselves permission to just go ahead and DO the thing that feels right or don't do what doesn’t feel right. Reminding ourselves that doing that is ACTUALLY what is in alignment for ourselves and everyone else.

Okay, ready? Here’s an invitation: Take a DEEEEP breath in, smile, and exhale, feeling the collective energy of this intention of PERMISSION to HONOR your KNOWING across the hearts of all who are reading this around the globe. I never know who I’m going to land on next.

In group sessions, I move through the circle intuitively, feeling my way toward whatever or whomever wants to come through for each person. Sometimes that means walking around the room. Sometimes it means pausing and listening. Sometimes it means following an image that flashes into my mind and trusting it completely, even before I understand it.

Lately, the animals have been showing up.

In one recent session, I was walking around the circle of six people when I saw brand new shoes in my mind - pristine, still stiff. I said it out loud, and a woman across the table smiled. She was wearing them for the first time that day. That’s how I found my way to her.

I knew nothing about her. But once I landed, I could feel a dog, or dogs. She confirmed it. Then the puppy feeling came in strong, and I couldn’t shake it even when she said no, there was no puppy. We stayed with it, talked around it, and then she remembered: one of her dogs had just been diagnosed with autism. He acts like a puppy, she said with a laugh. I knew we’d landed.

Then another image arrived: a broken toe, two toes taped together. Her eyes went wide. Her dog had just broken a toe that morning and was taped to the one beside it. The room laughed. That warm, full-body kind of laugh that happens when something lands so precisely it becomes funny. It was incredible evidence that blew me away too because that wasn’t the reason I was aware of for receiving that image.

What I was seeing was her dog in spirit, the darker medium-sized one I’d felt earlier, that she’d confirmed. He was showing me the taped toes as a metaphor of what he was doing: taping himself to the dog with autism. Anchoring there. Saying, I’ve got him. I’m helping him learn how to be in his body, in this lifetime, in this family. It was so tender, and everyone in that circle got to feel it.

In another recent group, a fluffy, regal cat came through the moment I turned toward his person. He was magnificent and he absolutely knew it. He was prancing, proud, practically preening. His person started laughing immediately because yes, that was him, completely. At the end of the session she pulled out a photo, and the whole room recognized him at once.

That same session brought something new for me. For the first time, I offered energy work to every single person in the group. I’ve worked with energy for years, but this was the first time it was so clearly what each person needed, one right after the other, fitting perfectly with what was relevant for each of them on their journeys, all the way around the circle of six people. When I shifted how I was moving with the energy for the woman whose cat had come through, my fingers I felt suddenly needed to flutter, she gasped with her eyes still closed. “Your ability is incredible, Anna.” She said. To be witnessed while offering something I love and feel so honored to be able to do, is its own kind of gift for me too. I can feel what is happening and how this energy is changing and healing people and it is so validating when someone who is receiving this can feel it and when others are witnessing the experiences both directly and indirectly.

And then there was the man who knew he needed to go last. He was attending his first group session, navigating a significant career transition as a leader in the medical field, with many potential paths in front of him. He watched everyone else receive before he let himself open. By the time I reached him, something had settled. What the session gave him wasn’t an answer. It was something more useful: a deeper trust in his own knowing.

He’s in a coaching container with me now, and what I’m watching is how quickly things move when someone decides to do this soul work. The options that were acting as bridges from one way of seeing himself in the world to another, helping him feel comfortable making a shift, are falling away with clarity. They were’t the landing place, they were part of the journey, but that wasn’t clear initially. What’s left is lit up and alive and lots of energy is building and growing in these directions with actionable results lining themselves up with delight. It’s so cool how fast this can happen.

I’m sharing these stories with you because they point to something I want you to remember: you have access to this kind of deep connection and it lives inside your heart. You are this supported. All the time.

Here’s an invitation.

Give yourself a moment right now away from accomplishing anything else. Imagine the tendrils of responsibility releasing from you and allowing all your energy to come back home with a smile of welcome.

Take a few slow, deep breaths. Look out at some nature if you can.

Give your heart a smile and let yourself receive some love from your spirit team, nature, the elements, animals. Let that love fill your heart and spill out to fill your whole being. Allow this love to fuel your next decision. Let it remind you that you are not navigating this life alone, and let whatever wants to move through you, be welcome. Try trusting it before you know entirely what it means, and see what happens.

I was attending a workshop over the weekend on Akashic Records reading when I learned that my second cousin, Dave, transitioned. As I laid in bed before sleep on that first night, I felt his kind spirit greet me and surround me with love. I then dreamed of Randy and Ryan, two of the other people who’ve passed recently. When I awoke in the morning my heart was shaken open by the combination of the dreams and the knowledge of Dave’s passing. My mom was able to travel to see him and sing many songs to him before he took his last breath. They were the two remaining musicians of their generation in the family. He’d been holding on for some reason, the hospice people shared, and just after the singing, he let go. So beautiful.

Sing for your Spirit

When I arrived at the workshop for the second day, my eyes were red and I felt tender and a little too open. So used to being in the role of leading, I observed that it was good for me to walk into a space with my vulnerability and not feel like I needed to be put together or have all the answers. I entered the room of attendees from all over the country, and my bestie, Rosemary (who’s doing something really cool 2/22 - I’ll be there, come join us), took me in her arms and held me while I cried. She smiled and said, “I had a feeling you might need this” as she handed me a coffee she’d picked up for me on her way in. I hadn’t told her anything yet, she just knew. As I began to connect with all the other powerful healers in the room with the shared experience of stepping into the portal of this new modality together, I didn’t want to be anywhere else.

At one point before we were breaking up into groups to practice, our teacher, Deb Haynie, talked about it being okay not to do the work if you aren’t feeling up for it. She was giving me permission. I appreciated that, and spoke up with a big smile, sharing that often spirit connection in service of others during times like this for me is one of the most pure expressions and experiences of love and home that I know and is exactly the right medicine for all involved. She beamed back at me with a sparkle in her eye.

We had a wonderful experience in the workshop and it inspired me in many ways which will be revealed to both you and me throughout the year. Stay tuned for that, and for now know that your loved ones in spirit along with my spirit team may guide us while in session into the Akashic Records.

Before we say goodbye to each other for now, let’s raise our metaphorical glasses to all those we have known and loved who are no longer embodied. Let’s take a moment and a few breaths with our eyes closed, a smile on our faces, heads upturned toward the sun and feel the warmth of their love. 🩷
