There is something so elusive and romanticized about becoming a business owner.

Not just a business owner.

But a soul-led one.

Oh, so you can just create from your heart?
Oh, so you can build something meaningful and help others?
Oh, so you just listen to your intuition and authority?
Oh, so you can just make a living with your passions, gifts, and craft?
Oh, so you can choose to work 4-5 hours a day?
Oh, so you do not have to cold-call or show up consistently on every social platform?
Oh, so you can just focus on your life and somehow still receive an income?
Oh, so you can do all of these without hustling as I did in my day job?
Oh, so you can do all of these, attract clients/customers AND 5 or 10 x your income?

Yes, you absolutely can.

I know that because I am living it.

I know that because this is what I do as I support emerging soul-led business owners who dream of starting one but do not know where to begin, and existing business owners who desire to shift/upgrade/refine their business to a soul-led approach/system.

But today’s Substack is not about how to get there, but about the caveat— that no one talks enough about when you are a soul-led business owner.

1. There is never a 100% certainty in anything, especially timing

I like to define a soul-led business as one where you become a conduit for your soul; one where you become a co-creator with your business, fulfilling a higher purpose tied to the service of the collective in a way that only you can.

This means always being led by your capacity, where strategy and creativity move as a living tool with purpose, resonance, and devotion, where old identities dissolve, and you become the person capable of holding the vision that wants to move through you— so your soul work reaches the people you are here to serve and support.

And along the way of being led this way, even when you feel absolutely confident in your body, or asserted in your authority of making the right decision in your business, you will wonder. And sometimes this wonder lingers, questions, and is often wrapped as self-doubt. If undiscerning and unaware, this ambiguity can threaten one’s nervous system. A soul-led business does not mean these questions no longer emerge, or that they quieten, but it does mean you place your trust beyond where you can see and touch. It means betting on your essence, your gifts, and how you’re meant to lead as a soul-led business owner—unwaveringly, even when it is consumed by uncertainty.

It means befriending the question of a “when,” not an “if.”

It means saying yes to receiving, not to supervising how your mind prefers it to unfold.

It means asking, not doubting.

It means taking the first step from where you are, even when you cannot see the mountain top.

2. What works for others will never work entirely for you

One of my mistakes early on as a soul-led business owner was pretending I could replicate a formula derived from others or one that has worked for others, and assuming it would work for me.

The outcome?

Utter Projector bitterness.

This is why I am so passionate about using Human Design as one of the tools in my soft business mentorship.

For those who are not familiar, Human Design is often referred to as one’s energetic blueprint and as the science of differentiation. In my work with my soul-led business clients, we undertake an energetic recalibration through the lens of Human Design, learning the essence of who you are, your gifts, and how you’re meant to lead as a soul-led business owner, and eventually building/sustaining a business that actually honors you, and not make you feel depleted.

In every area of life, not just in business, we have been fed this idea/assumption that: if it works for others, it will and could work for me.

The loose rule of homogenization.

Many of the business models and formulas we have been taught were designed for scalability and predictability, and are rooted in homogenization—not in honoring the unique way each individual is naturally wired to operate, create, lead, and make decisions.

And the truth is, no one is here to do business the same way. They eventually burn out. They feel misaligned and inauthentic— and all this can exist while you consider yourself a soul-led business owner.

3. You can still be blinded in hustlehood as a soul-led business owner

This one was tough to admit early on in my business journey, and one where I notice many soul-led business owners continuously battle on an ongoing basis.

I remember questioning myself about whether staying till 2 am and waking up at 5 am for my morning routine (I know, this was before I found out I was a Projector in Human Design) still qualified me as a soul-led business owner, or if I was trying to be someone I was not.

Hustle can exist even in a soul-led business.

This is a common theme I see among many business owners, including and especially those who have derived success in their businesses, except it is hidden in plain sight by themselves or embellished in a spiritual language, until symptoms of exhaustion and burnout reveal themselves to them.

4. Each expansion of your business requires an expansion of your Self Concept

Another tool I use so passionately in my work is Self-Concept, also known as Identity work. It is based on the notion that our identity is fluid and can change throughout our lives.

We are not here to stay in a single identity for our life— and you probably know that already. Think of the version of you that you have and had to outgrow to get you to the person you are today. THAT is evidence for your Self-Concept.

The trap is that most people eventually slide into stagnation, also known as autopilot mode, where considering any perceivable change feels destabilizing.

Our identity is the biggest fuel behind every energetic upgrade, shift, quantum leap, and manifestation. Your identity consists of a collection of your past experiences, your formed beliefs, your thoughts, your current dominant emotional states, and the aligned actions you have taken that have brought you to where you are today.

In terms of business, I like to frame Self Concept as the exterior/mantle that reinforces and provides the endurance for each expansion as a business owner.

The liminal space between being an employee and being unemployed? Identity work.
Your first website? Identity work.
A new offering? Identity work.
Your first article? Identity work.
Your first client? Identity work.
Your first 5k? Identity work.
Your first 10K? Identity work.

Identity work reveals whether you can hold on the other side of what you are calling in, or if you buckle, collapse, and sabotage.

5. Your business will expose ceilings where you are still withholding to receive

It is easier to associate business with an oversimplification that reduces it to just a means of wanting and having more.

More money.
More clients.
More sales.
More visibility.
More opportunities.
More impact.
More freedom.
More support.

And there is nothing wrong with asking for that.

But what is less talked about is the nervous system that goes behind it. The ability to have energetic capacity and a nervous system to hold more without interfering, self-sabotaging, feeling guilty, or collapsing.

Running a business, especially a soul-led one, will ultimately require you to constantly review and heal your relationship with receivership. It exposes the ceilings of your old identity, where you are still withholding and where you are requiring incremental expansion, as your nervous system has never been calibrated to any of this before you became a business owner. It is one thing to desire expansion; it is another to inhabit it.

A soul-led business will take you to places of healing and growth you never thought possible. If you are questioning why you keep hitting the fan in your business or why you can’t seem to break free from an income ceiling, and you wonder what it is, and why it is that you are so afraid… it might actually be nervous system work, and that is also a strategy that one should not ignore.

6. Your definition of Success must be unshakeable and only yours

In business, especially a soul-led one, where your business is an extension of the founder identity, you must recognize that your definition of Success will evolve with you. And ultimately, it is the only thing that must matter.

We can easily be hijacked by how being Successful has to look or feel, and get lost in the web of it.

I have met founders who feel unrecognized and alone with 100k followers.

I have clients who hit multiple revenue goals after each launch and still barely have time for their toddler daughter.

I have clients with a small following but a close-knit relationship with their long-term clients, and they feel extremely Successful.

I have clients who love giving back to their community even if their income goals were not in the high 4-5 digits.

So the bigger question here is: are you clear what your version of being Successful looks like, or are you still dangling in the weeds of someone’s interpretation of it?

7. There is no final arrival

This is one I am still learning to this very day after being a soul-led business owner since 2019. Oddly enough, I never ever felt that it would ever be a final arrival. Perhaps because, as a line 3, there were always many trials and errors, multiple metamorphoses, shedding, and initiations as a business owner.

There will always be another edge, another invitation to meet myself differently, another refinement, another expansion of Self Concept, another discomfort with ambiguity/uncertainty, another Quantum leap, and so on.

And you know what? I love this joyride of entrepreneurship, and I love being human.

I no longer fixate on a compelling vision of set goals. I am clear about them, I show up for them, but I hold them lightly because my identity has already assumed that reality is mine. And the question is never about an if, but a when.

I ask myself this daily:

What is desiring to flow out of me today?
How can I meet myself differently today?
How can I show up for myself as the person capable of holding the vision that wants to move through me?

I am a mountain girl, an ocean girl, a city girl and recently in the past year I discovered, I am a desert girl. And I refuse to be boxed by any of them.

There was a time I lived a different life...

I was a diving instructor for almost 10 years. The ocean was my office. I lived intimately with the tide, the moon, the sun. I loved my job and was great at it. It was the best 9-5 I could ever ask for.

The Maldives was where I lived the longest for almost 8 years.

In Dec 2024, I took the leap of faith that took 2.5 years in the making. I trusted my gifts and my soul work. I prioritized my pace, my rhythm, and empowerment as a Projector, and my life has never been the same…

One of my biggest life lessons is about holding grief lightly…

He was my play, my joy, my laughter, my sweet pea, my son, and my family.

He prepared me to be a mom.

He has been in heaven since March 2025.

He passed during eclipse season. The exact day I flew over from Asia to Mexico for my new life. I know it was no coincidence.

I spent 27 years of my life trying to fit into a mould.

Before Human Design came into my life, I was fluent in one language: effort.

I searched for answers outside of myself; in the approval of others, in the hustle, in the relentless doing — because I genuinely did not know another way existed.

I pondered why I couldn’t fit in, why it didn’t work, why I was always so tired, and why reality never unfolded the way it seemed to for everyone else.

I was trying to fit myself into a circular hole when I was born to be a square peg. (a rather divine one, mind you.)

Human design showed me a different light. It became my permission slip.

Now at 34, I have lived across eight countries, running a soul-led business that has brought me the freedom, spaciousness, and abundance I once only dared to imagine. My work is activating and impacting Projectors across the world. But more than the external shifts, I became someone I actually recognize and am proud of.

This is my story.

It is not perfect.

And sometimes I do question; I do doubt the work I do. I still have not met my dream partner. Or built my dream home. I still have goals I have not yet realized. There are still many lessons and experiences I am still alchemizing.

But I allow myself to do it all, AND have it all— gently, compassionately, and softly as a human being.

It may sound like my story started the moment I left the Maldives, the moment I took the first BIG leap.

But the truth is, my story began when I took the wrong turns, the wrong relationships, every trial, tribulation, healing work, and sacrifice that have catapulted me onto a seemingly wrong but right trajectory. As a profile 1/3, I cannot emphasize how wild that journey has been —how it set me off and, at the same time, set me free.

Opportunities present themselves when luck meets preparation.

Preparation begins with self-permission. Too many of us never give ourselves a chance to consider a different possibility, a different reality, a different you.

If my story speaks to you. I hope you know that you can have that too. This work isn’t the path of least resistance but a path of choice and consciousness.

You are not here to be a slightly better version of who you’ve been.

You are here for the rehaul. The identity-level shifts.

And that is the work I do and teach.

As a 1/3 Self-Projected Projector with the Channel of Awakening (10-20) and the Channel of Prodigal (13-33), my transmission is not theoretical. It is embodied, lived, and specific to you.

My work draws from my own deep de-conditioning journey, advanced Human Design studies, and years of walking alongside Projectors globally as they step into their divinity. At the heart of everything I teach: Self-concept, Projector practical integration, and embodiment.

My philosophy

Arawme is grounded on energetics, empowerment, excitement, and embodiment.

1. I am a big believer in being wholeheartedly human, and everyone’s ability to self-heal and do the work.

We came here to journey back to ourselves.

And sometimes, this timeline looks different for everyone. Identity is a living, breathing verb. Change is our only constant. Change does not have to always appear outward right away; change sometimes begins inward, subtly and quietly, like the way you wield boundaries, the way you speak to yourself, the way you choose a different decision, your subconscious capacity, learning the pause before the reaction, letting go of versions of yourself where you have been shrinking, etc.

Here, your vulnerabilities, sensitivities, pain points, and soft spots are welcome. I believe in making mistakes, being curious, and being compassionate. Choosing love over fear (consistently) is important to me. I believe in holding our bad emotions safely too — gently and compassionately, without judgment. I believe in taking ownership and being accountable for our actions, responses, emotions, desires, and growth.

Love is huge for me too — and hopefully, you’ll feel its frequency undulating between these words here.

2. Your gifts never forget you.

There is a profound gift that exists in every one of us when we incarnate in this world, and we are meant to discover it and share it with the world in this lifetime. And we are only and always one decision away from living our most authentic selves.

Remembering, takes you on a conscious path of cultivating your unique version of authenticity, of going inward and looking at yourself more deeply than you ever have— choosing alignment with your desires, values, and truth.

It is remembering who your soul came here to be, before your conditioning intervened. All the wisdom you ever need is already within you. Read this piece of musing of mine about waking up.

3. Alignment is divinity.
   

Learning my Human Design (1/3 Self-Projected Projector here) and approaching business the soul-led Projector way has transformed my life. Before that, I had spent 27 years of my life trying to fit into a mould that only really questioned my existence.

The old Sylvia would search for answers outside of myself for all the reasons why I couldn’t fit in, why it didn’t work, when I was too tired, or when reality did not unfold the way it did for others. I remember pushing and hustling because no other ways were known to me.

My wholehearted commitment and devotion to stepping into my Projectorhood have revolutionized the way I live my personal and professional life. With my background in Spirituality, I now perceive the world and our interactions deeply through an energetic lens.

Now at 33, my current reality is a testament to the power of choosing yourself and living your design.

A couple of months ago, I had an exploratory call with a Projector who asked me an earnest question about myself.

She asked, How has your life changed since you decided to live your design as an empowered Projector?

She added that she had been following my journey for a while and was incredibly inspired by where I am in life today.

The truth is, this shift was hardly anything external.

If anything, my devotion to living life as an empowered Projector was a homecoming.

A reclamation of myself.

I wrote about this shift on Substack before, and you can read it below.

But today, I wanted to share a piece I have not yet discussed.

And this piece is about the voice that we all share, and it is called resistance.

If you have enjoyed reading my newsletters and have been following me for a while, you are probably a Projector who has felt the pull toward a different life— or a life that feels more authentic than your current one.

Perhaps a slower one, one that feels grounded, one with a quiet confidence, less stuckness and overwhelm.

A life where your gifts are truly seen, felt, and received; one that finally mirrors your Projector rhythm and truth.

And if that is you, then you have likely encountered this voice called resistance.

It is subtle, persuasive, and often sounds quite reasonable.

It often emerges like this:

Maybe later.
You should wait until you feel more ready.
You are overthinking.
You are asking too much.
You are incredibly selfish if you take this decision.
You really aren’t that special, you know?
You should be content with where you are and what you have.
Perhaps when circumstances are better.
You don’t have the time/money/resources right now.

Sometimes, they arrive through the mouth of your loved ones. But the most debilitating ones are the ones from yourself.

Resistance rarely announces itself as fear; it often disguises itself as practicality or a timing issue.

As Projectors, we are naturally attuned to the environment and the needs of others; we can also become especially skilled at negotiating ourselves out of the very things that would actually expand us. We all have been there before— withholding the possibility of a different reality, quietly placing it at arm’s length, and in this passive waiting of our becoming, we postponed the one thing that could potentially alter our lives.

We assume that something or someone external to us must grant us permission before we can make a meaningful change in our lives.

We tell ourselves that once the perfect conditions appear, then we will step forward.

More clarity.
More savings.
More time.
More certainty.
More groundedness.
More preparation.
More proof.

The question here is, will it ever be the perfect conditions?

Sometimes it looks like forgoing the trip you have been saving up for years.
Sometimes it looks like letting the soulmate of your dream walk away.
Sometimes it looks like the email you left in your draft.
The difficult conversation you keep postponing.
The opportunity and investment you convince yourself you are not ready for.
The post you write and never publish.
The book you dream of writing but never started.
The boundary you know you need but refuse to disappoint someone by setting.
The rest you keep postponing.
The dream you quietly keep at arm’s length because wanting it feels more vulnerable.

Resistance doesn’t always ask you to give up.

Resistance doesn’t always ask you to give up right away. It obscures your potential by alluding you to distractions. I like to tell my clients this:

In another parallel reality, there is a version of you living the exact same thing you asked for. And this version of you is praying you will see that all you ask for, seeks you too.

A day before my birthday, a famous professional mountaineer called Nimsdai passed away in an avalanche in Pakistan alongside 9 other passionate mountaineers. He was a fellow Leo who passed away during Leo season. He was 43. I am no mountaineer, but I do love Nepal and the mountains and have always been humbled by them each time I am next to one.

I have been incredibly emotional about his death, a grief I can’t yet comprehend for someone I have not met or known. For the past couple of weeks, I have been tearing up randomly whenever his video or posts appear on my For You Page. Yesterday, I finally felt well enough to watch his documentary, 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible. He made the impossible possible by scaling 14 peaks above 8000m in 6 months and 6 days with his elite Nepali Sherpas. He broke 4 world records with this feat.

His Why?

1. To show the world that you are capable of achieving anything if you put your mind to it.

2. To highlight to the world the exceptional skill, strength, and courage of the Nepali Sherpa community, aiming to give much-deserved recognition to high-altitude mountain guides.

The film also portrayed an emotional burn in Nimsdai’s heart as his ailing mom grew seriously ill during his expedition. Having the closest relationship with her, Nimsdai knew he should have stayed behind to be with her. Miraculously, his mom’s health stabilized, and she told him to finish the expedition for him. After the summit of his final peak, Shishapangma, he called his ailing mother to say they achieved the impossible.

Nimsdai knew very well what resistance was present. His ailing mom was literally teetering between life and death. And yet, he pushed through, overcame and made the impossible possible. I like to believe his mom’s recovery was not simply a miracle but a manifestation of his.

Experiencing resistance is rarely the difficult part. Going through with it is. And it is normally accompanied by some kind of tests.

It is like the Universe tossing a ball at you to see if you’ll fail the test again.

If you had asked the old version of me on my last day of employment as a diving instructor, and about my internal landscape when I stared at my bank account back in 2024, I assure you it was not one without resistance 👀

I felt deflated and, quite frankly, rather delusional.

It was far from a perfectly laid-out plan.

This very voice made me feel reductive, but at the same time, extremely practical.

In fact, I was presented with a test that came packaged as an enticing formal invitation. A job offer to the #1 most luxurious resort in the Maldives— a job that anyone who worked in the Maldives could only dream of.

There was zero initiation—just a formal interview invitation from the Human Resources Manager. But I did not waver. I stood by my decision and trusted— my life has since unfolded beyond my wildest imagination.

Now, here is what I have for you about this voice called resistance.

It never leaves and it rarely quietens itself.

But you will eventually learn to work with it as an ally.

A shift rarely happens because the external world suddenly rearranges itself. A shift begins because you deliberately choose to rearrange your internal reality. It happens when you decide you are no longer available for the version of life that keeps you small.

Resistance is not a sign that something is wrong; resistance appears precisely at the threshold of expansion.

It surfaces when you are about to choose a different level of self-recognition. When you are about to invest in your own unfolding in a way that signals to your nervous system:

My growth matters. My dreams matter. My values matter. I matter.

For many Projectors, one of the most powerful catalysts for this shift begins when you grant yourself the permission to be seen as who you are, and to be resourced accordingly.

Not a space where you must perform, prove, or push harder. But a space where your perception and Self-Understanding are sharpened, where your wisdom is mirrored back to you, and where the pace, rhythm, and truth as a Projector allows you to deepen in your magnetism and receptivity.

Resistance will always offer you reasons to stay exactly where you are.

The question here is: Which voice are you willing to listen to?

Sometimes the most aligned decision we can make is not waiting for more Certainty. It is allowing one to step into a space where that Certainty can finally be claimed.

“I know the unimaginable dream world can feel out of reach, but you can’t see the path to the top of the mountain from the bottom.

You don’t need to see it in order to get there. You only need to see the path that lays directly before you from where you stand now.

All you need to do is take the next right step. So start small and send it.”

Where am I postponing what truly matters to me?
What have I been telling myself I need before I am allowed to begin?
Where am I waiting for more certainty when what I may actually need is trust?
Where have I mistaken fear for discernment?
Where have I mistaken avoidance for surrender?
Where have I mistaken self-abandonment for practicality?
Where am I giving my power to circumstances, timing, money, other people’s recognition, or permission?
What would become possible if I stopped negotiating with the voice that tells me “not yet”?

Hello, my dearest readers. It has been a while, hasn’t it?

Trust me, I have missed you, and more dearly, I have missed writing.

Around the start of Spring this year, I experienced a sort of mini burnout.

I had many clients I was holding space for; it was a record number I had not experienced before (I love each of you so much if you are reading this). It was not long before I realized that I could not be present for my existing relationships, loved ones, projects, and, most importantly, myself. This realization sent me into a deep contemplative hermit mode as I scrambled to restore my capacity and reinstate my nervous system baseline.

As a Human Design Projector, I felt a theme of bitterness. Instead of placing an order of self-constraint and self-doubt on myself, I asked,

What if this simply represented a call for more expansion?

What if this is an indicator to audit and refine how I operate as a business owner and in personal practices?

What if this is simply an initiation?

What if I do not need to become better at coping with this version of my life?

What if I need to become someone who can hold the next version of my identity?

And no, I did not spiral.

I loved working with each of my clients deeply and took pride in supporting them through their personal shifts. But behind the scenes in my own life, I was auditing, refining, deconstructing, building, and embodying the upgraded identity as a founder I was ushered into.

It came to my realization that I was still operating in my business as someone who did not see herself enough as the founder. Someone who cannot hold more.

This unease revealed the ceiling of my old identity (the old Sylvia with her thoughts, beliefs, behavior, and actions). It revealed the fault lines I have unconsciously held in how I associate with having more.

It reminded me what my old identity was very fluent in: effort.

Sometimes, a nervous system activation does not solely reveal the need to slow down. Sometimes it reveals an undercurrent of a need for capacity building and expansion, like holding more.

This was the old programming of the old Sylvia:

More clients > More money > More recognition > More responsibilities > More reliance > More people who want from you > More opportunities and eyes on you > More problems > More overwhelm > More exhaustion > Burnout

And alongside remedying this discomfort, the autopilot in me defaulted to the belief that less would be the solution.

It looked somewhat like this:

Less clients > less recognition > fewer responsibilities > fewer problems > less overwhelm > less exhaustion > zero burnout

And yes, I do not mean to say that nothing has to be released, that there was nothing wrong with my current structure/systems/practices, that I have to tolerate the overwhelm, or that everything has to stay the same.

There is certainly room for that: after all, space has to be made for the new to settle.

What was revealed to me was less about there being just too many commitments and responsibilities. My old narrative looked like this: I don’t have a lot of energy as a Self-Projected Projector; I have seven undefined centers with zero motor centers; I just cannot hold so much.

Notice the language reinforcing limitation.

What was revealed to me was that the version of me who has been holding was built for less.

And I NO longer want to feel limited by that.

Your Human Design is essentially your energetic blueprint. It reveals how you are designed mechanically to interact and operate with the world, your role, your gifts and your mission in this lifetime. It is not here to make you feel deflated or restrictive.

Holding the awareness of your Design is one thing; the bigger thing is asking yourself, how can I embody my design? And you do it: you do that by making different decisions and responses, auditing where you have experienced misalignment in your life, adopting different systems, practices, and habits, and actively unlearning your programming.

This means assuming a new identity.

Our identity is fluid and changeable, a neurological habit. And our identity is the biggest fuel behind every energetic upgrade, shift, quantum leap, and manifestation.

And if we want to change our lives for a different reality, we need to upgrade our inner landscape.

Every change precedes an identity shift, no matter how minuscule or grand it may appear.

So the bigger question here is: when you recognize that you have reached the ceiling of your old identity, do you ask:

Is this really for me? Is there something wrong with me?

Or do you ask, What do I need to become someone who can hold the next version of me?

This is where the awareness of your Human Design comes into play.

What needed to change at the level of identity, structure, boundaries, support, systems, relationships, and capacity for me?

Not by pushing myself harder.

Not by becoming more productive or consistent or performative.

Not by reducing my client count.

Not by convincing myself that I do not actually want the things I have been asking for.

Not by creating chaos in my business by self-sabotaging and showing up less.

Not by convincing my nervous system to tolerate being overwhelmed more.

Next, you write what you want: what habits, behaviors, and narratives have to go, what stays.

You write them down. Pen to paper.

And start taking actions, creating narratives, new habits, new responses, new systems.

You start embodying the next version of you who can hold it all AND have it all, while honoring your Design.

Sometimes expansion looks like becoming more discerning about who gets access to you. More support. More structure. More boundaries. More recovery. More delegation. More trust. More creativity. More play. More joy. More presence.

For me, it looked like more support (i have an amazing assistant now!). More mastering of my focus, more boundaries. More automation. Price increase. More structure. More nature. More creation, intentional rest and expression in private. More kitesurfing. Less Vietnamese coffee. More hair spas…

That is a very different kind of expansion and nervous system work from simply doing more.

So you are probably asking now, how do you know when you reached the ceiling of your old identity?

The answer to that is you probably already know.

One thing's for sure: it's rarely dramatic (hopefully).

You find yourself trying to battle a version of yourself you have outgrown; an upstream current that feels endless.

And your autopilot default scenes in your life no longer feel tolerable… with a whisper that goes: “I can’t keep doing it this way.”

Trust that your future you will always have your back.

a song I am loving:

I remember back during the start of the pandemic in 2020—how dysregulated I became when the borders closed, with cases and deaths skyrocketing.

I was extremely fortunate to be at home in Singapore during that time. Anyone who knows me will know that I am more of a global citizen than a Singaporean. Anyone who knows me personally, too, knows how much I love my long- and short-distance friends, aka the ones I would travel for.

For many of us, the Covid pandemic was the first of its kind. Unprecedented. Uncharted. Devouring.

An abyss within a dream. A nightmare within another. A gigantic blur altogether.

I remember a specific and rather pivotal day during that time.

It was just a couple of days before my country decided to close its borders, and there was news sweeping across my country of a deadly, unrivaled virus.

I remember commuting on the train, a mask draped across my face, typing on my search engine bar:

covid cases in Mexico

covid cases in New Zealand

covid cases in the United States

My eyes widened, my heart raced, and there I was, wondering, What is going on? What has the world come to today? Are my friends going to be okay? Are we going to be okay?

I reached out to each of them to check in on how they were doing.

Within a couple of days, I replaced the word “cases” with “deaths”.

My anxiety felt insurmountable.

Skyrocketed. Magnified.

If this is what you have felt before, or may be feeling now, I want to remind you it is okay. It is okay to feel so deeply for our world that is going through so much pain and chaos.

But there is a difference between feeling it deeply, absorbing it as yours to grasp/hold/fix, and feeling it deeply and holding it lightly with gentleness and grace.

And I am here to remind you to pick the latter.

And be the wayshower and steward of humanity that you have been tasked to be as a Projector in this world.

Steward of the new world

One of Projector’s roles in this New World is to guide others in navigating new energetic shifts and pathways, and in activating their unique creative expressions.

This could look like:

sharing the concept and importance of personal energetic sustainability

reminding others of the importance of enoughness by realizing first that we are enough just the way we are

paving new pathways and sustainability shifts by first undertaking the path ourselves

teaching others to honor their energetic blueprint, by first upholding our energetic non-negotiables ourselves

redefining the concepts of perfection, success, productivity and being resourced

sharing and normalizing rest to the collective by first healing our relationship with it

creating conversations about the beauty of inconsistency and the importance of sustainability over consistency in all areas of our lives

leading each personal and collective shift with overflow, self-recognition, equanimity and accountability

And yes, leading each shift not in the absence of chaos, but ESPECIALLY more in the presence of chaos and uncertainty— holding and healing our world not with force and grit but with deliberate softness and harmony.

Projectors, the energy we are collectively in right now is wobbly, unpredictable, unstable, and full of uncertainty. As a perceptive being, this shift can feel like a lot to take in.

We truly do not know how and what will unfold in the upcoming weeks or months or the rest of 2026.

But you do have a choice to not be devoured or consumed by darkness at every moment.

You do have a choice in how you wish to respond and discern.

And most of all, you can diligently choose not to harden in times of despair, outrage, contradictions, and instability.

And it is my hope that you anchor this work with Certainty, with hope, with discernment, with equanimity, and of course— softness.

No, I am not asking you to carry the weight of the world. I am asking you to guide it.

This process can only unfold when you choose to remain a clear and receptive channel for this wisdom and courage to flow through you. To create a space for your deep-seated guidance to emerge and for others to receive your guidance.

I am asking you to grant yourself the permission to be the wayshower you are here to be.

To be the Projector your soul has chosen for you— in the way your soul remembers.

And you know deeply what I mean. Especially if you have been noticing an insatiable void within your being. A layer you can’t quite access on your own.

It is about reclaiming the courage to stand out in a world that commands you to remain small, quiet, and obliging.

It is about heeding the call, the nudge, the whisper to opt out of this inauthenticity.

And finally, honoring your gifts and your unique expression as a Projector.

The times we are in right now are when your Projector empowerment and guidance are needed more than ever.

This is the time for you to step up as an empowered Projector.

Below are 5 ways you can protect yourself during a time of uncertainty so you can be the clear wayshower as a Projector.

1. Protect your capacity + your nervous system

How you consume is paramount during a time of chaos and uncertainty— especially if you have an open head and an open solar plexus center in your Human Design. This is the time for you to intentionally curate what you are exposed to and what stimulates you. Be ruthlessly protective of your energy, the people you surround yourself with, the conversations you engage in, and the media you are consuming. This is the time for you to consume intentionally, not reflexively. Notice what causes tension in your body—not doom scrolling or being hijacked by social media’s algorithms that encourage fear and a sequential ‘lack’ feedback loop. There is a difference between being informed and being flooded by information.

2. Discern what is yours to guide

You are not here to guide everyone, my dearest Projector.

We are in the midst of multiple challenging astrological transits, affecting us not only on a collective and personal level. Understand that this heightened time may also cause distortions, misunderstandings, and a lack of clarity, both within ourselves and in our relationships with others. Remember, not everything requires your input and your insight. You are here to guide where you are recognized and invited into something. Your role as a guide and wayshower is not to push a specific agenda on anyone, especially if you have not been invited to or asked for it. Your role is to discern what is yours to guide, what is yours to hold lightly, and what is not yours to take in personally. This is not the time to grasp or compel an outcome of your ego; this is the time to tread and hold everything lightly.

3. Your energetic mastery without closing your heart

I know how it can feel so selfish to be going about your day when the world is in turmoil and many are struggling to meet basic survival needs. I know how it feels to feel too much, to have it permeate your system, and to feel helpless and infuriated too.

Here is a take I hope you’ll adopt: there is nothing wrong with focusing on your own cup before supporting others. As Projectors, we are easily the most conditioned energy type in the world. For most of us, we are extremely open and undefined in our centers. We live off conditionings. Conditioning is part of how we engage and interact with the world. However, being open and receptive does not equate being porous or incapable of self-protection. During times like this, grounding yourself, energetic check-ins, being in nature, being in your own space, and decompressing intentionally at the end of the day for rest should not be discarded and ignored but prioritized more than before.

This is not about closing your heart. It is about priming it for service and support so you can embody your thoughtful guidance and leadership. So you can mirror the depth, precision, and regulated presence that others look for in times of uncertainty, confusion, and chaos. This is how we allow our aura to work its magic and draw the right ones to us. This is how you anchor in.

4. Curating small circles of recognition

It is tempting to assume that our impact is only profound, meaningful, and successful when our influence is wide and magnified. If it had to take up a lot of space, have a large audience, and look almost like a broadcast, then we are being of service.

But this core narrative is far from the truth. For everyone, including us Projectors.

I am not saying it is impossible to scale or achieve a wide reach as a Projector. That is completely possible, but it is not the only definitive measure of Success as a Projector. Ultimately, our reach and impact are built on precision, the depth of our aura, and having intimate circles that facilitate and stabilize this energy. These spaces do not have to be big or loud. They are spaces where your insight is welcomed, your perspective is sought, your energy as a Projector is valued, and your guidance can actually feel safe to land.

You do not have to reach everyone to feel recognized. You are here to be recognized by the correct ones. And when that happens, the scale of your impact becomes almost secondary, and your influence becomes natural. One aligned recognition can open doors, opportunities, and reshape your entire ecosystem. And that recognition itself is phenomenal for any Projectors. So my question for you is, are you intentionally curating such circles?

Instead of asking, “How many people am I reaching?”

Ask yourself, “Am I in spaces where my guidance is actually recognized and received?”

5. Your gift of discernment

In a world where everything feels extremely unstable right now, the collective nervous system can speed up. Information and misinformation circulate faster. Opinions form and dominate more quickly. Everyone feels a compelling pressure to respond immediately. To make a stand, to keep up with the pace of conversation, to avoid being perceived as silent, passive, or irrelevant. And the result often leads to more noise, contortion, and dysregulation rather than solutions, solidarity, and clarity.

During this time, your discernment and equanimity as a Projector are what anchor you as a guide. And discernment often requires space for processing. It requires slowing down, being in your own aura, allowing things to reorder themselves organically, and formulating your own clarity beneath the overwhelm and urgency. Adopting a pause is useful and fundamentally differentiates a reaction, speculation, and a response grounded in clarity.

Your emotional steadiness, precision, and guidance will support humanity and help others orient themselves in times of chaos.

Do not discredit or downplay what you are most capable of as a Projector.

Do not discredit how and where you have already been stepping into the role as a steward of humanity.

If reading this makes you doubt yourself right now,

know that it is because your current Self-Understanding as an empowered Projector still feels largely destabilized. Perhaps you feel like you are perpetually running on a hamster wheel, or you are feeling stagnant and dysregulated to the point of not even being able to process what is going on; or your current reality feels miles away from even considering owning your gifts or being of service and influence to anyone right now.

I get it because I was like that before.

I just muted the noise of the external world. I was not concerned with the affairs of service and impact, because I was barely thriving. I was so thickly consumed in survival and had an inability to consider a reality beyond my limited consciousness then.

You do not have to do this alone.

Much of the work we do in The Projector Remembrance (TPR) is not simply about relearning yourself as the Projector you came here to be, or softening into your healing, or dismantling the old falsehood that you have held for far too long, or being witnessed and held in sisterhood or how to navigate each shift in empowerment— they are all of it.

Above all, TPR is an initiation into becoming the steward of our new world as an empowered Projector and the choice to step into our collective’s mission wholeheartedly.

No matter the breadth, shape, or form your guidance and influence may take.

Many of my TPR graduates went on to start their soul-led businesses or dream projects.

Some finally found recognition in the most intimate spaces and communities of their lives.

Some found recognition in supporting strangers.

Some found a new lens of conviction, courage, and embodied leadership in how they show up in their professions.

They did not arrive at a destination; they simply remembered who they are and held that permission for it to take shape.

Each of them walks out of TPR with a deep understanding of the role they play in our sacral-dominant world, no longer fearful, but hopeful and purposeful.

They no longer fear or hide behind their empowerment; they held it with an unwavering receptivity, courage, and Certainty.

They were finally not afraid to be seen.

They are guiding.

And we will need as many empowered Projectors before 2027.

If you are reading this article, you are probably like me, a Projector in Human Design.

One would know that our Strategy in Human Design is waiting for the invitation.

Our Strategy governs how we are best primed to interact with the world through an energetic lens.

It is no surprise that waiting for an invitation carries a bad rep from the get-go. But I promise: stay around, and I will convince you otherwise at the end of the article, and, most of all, address the intersection of the inner state of healthy receivership and its pivotal role in waiting for the invitation.

The Misinterpretation And The Compulsion Behind Initiation

Come on, you’ve got to be joking?
Must I wait around and do nothing?
Does that mean I should just wait for a job to be handed to me rather than search for one like normal people do?
Does that mean I should just wait for clients and opportunities to find me instead of seeking them proactively?

If that was your initial reaction too when you learnt about your Strategy as a Projector, I assure you, you are not alone.

A major distortion in the Human Design spaces is oversimplification.

There is a misconception that waiting as a Projector means doing nothing. Waiting is often perceived as inaction and passivity when we read about it, leaving us confused, doubting ourselves and the system.

Waiting can often also be interpreted as:

waiting to be chosen,
waiting to be seen,
waiting for something to happen.

The self-dialogue can also sound like:

I can’t speak until invited.
I shouldn’t share unless someone asks.
I have not been invited, so I should keep my mouth shut.

But here is an empowered take: waiting is not passive; waiting is active.

Active waiting is not silence, isolation, inactivity, or shrinking.

When empowered, the need to initiate is reduced.

In the Human Design context, invitations are direct solicitations for an energetic exchange/ energetic opening with another individual.

It is important to note by reminding you that we are NOT for everyone. Our aura is penetrative by design and can be deeply immersed in the other when an energetic opening is established. However, when there is no energetic opening, it may appear intense, assertive, and even dominant. Unlike 70% of the population, we do not have the sacral center defined, which allows one to tap into an enduring, replenishable life-force, workforce energy. For that same reason, our gifts reside in guiding and not in doing. We are not here to be spread thin, everywhere and everything for everyone.

Waiting for an invitation is not meant to limit our gifts and accessibility; rather, it is designed to expand our potential as a Projector by protecting us from receiving the incorrect people, opportunities, resources, and environment. It allows our interactions to be guided by a recognition-first approach.

That said, waiting for the invitation also encourages us to tolerate discomfort in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity. An awkward silence. A pause. A nod. Stillness. Non-direction in the pursuit of an outcome. Tossing the urgency of the room. Detachment regardless of proximity.

"Before you speak, ask yourself, Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Is it timely?”

However, for many of us, we have been plagued by the conditioning of initiation.

One of the clearest byproducts of living in a sacral-dominant world is the impulse to skip waiting and respond, move, do, build, chase, and push instead.

As a Projector, you most likely absorbed recycled narratives like:

“Go after what you want.”
“Closed mouths don’t get fed.”
“If you don’t ask, you won’t receive.”
“Be proactive.”
”Just do it.” (Hello Nike?)

In a modern world optimized for doers, we have been wired for pursuit. Visibility, speed, assertiveness, and self-promotion equated competence, productivity, and success. Waiting can feel counterintuitive and look lazy, passive, or irrelevant to those who do not understand how different we are.

So with that, we learned to initiate to avoid being left behind and to feel like we belong, only for bitterness and exhaustion to eat us up later. Learning how we have been programmed allows us to hold ourselves gently in our conditioning without feeling shame.

(For context, 90% of the energy types except Manifestors have to wait, too; it just looks a little different.)

YES, subtle initiation is still an initiation hun.

It may look like this in your self-dialogue:

I’ll just message first so this doesn’t drag.
I can sense the tension, let me fix this.
I cannot hold my mouth any longer, let me tell her the truth.
If I lead it, the relationship will evolve.
If I don’t make it happen, nothing will happen.
It is probably my fault.
If I deliver enough now, they probably hire me.
If I post every day, someone will eventually notice.
Let me explain why I’m qualified.
Maybe I should just reach out to them first.

But true empowerment in a Projector is not inactivity.

It is discernment. It is co-creation. It is the deliberate choosing of self-holding over premature guidance. It is the bigger understanding of how you orient and signal to the world, alongside your gifts and the role you play. True empowerment as a Projector is a by-product of self-trust.

It is about being visible without pursuing, speaking without chasing, and positioning yourself energetically without pitching for a supporting role. You are already chosen when the invitation lands.

It is allowing recognition to meet you as you are in a divinely timed manner.

Invitations And The Ignored State Of Receivership

Alright Projectors, now that you have distilled what waiting really is, the compulsion behind initiation, let’s address the elephant in the room for a minute.

Are you currently 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 waiting, or are you holding tension and urgency disguised as patience?

As you learnt earlier, waiting allows us to be correctly primed so our insights and guidance touch the right people. And this does not equate to availability for everyone.
A powerful intersection that is often ignored is the relationship between active waiting and the healthy inner states of receivership.

Healthy receivership is the ability to carry the energetic capacity and nervous system to hold more without interfering, self-sabotaging, feeling guilty, or collapsing.

How active waiting without healthy receivership may show up in one’s life:

Hyper-Awareness
Frantic, nervous, and back-and-forth energy. Prancing around. Hypervigilance and compulsion masked as strategy, waiting, or surrendering. Watching who viewed your stories, or how many likes you got for each post. Over-analysing interactions or conversations. Overcalculative with response times. Refreshing analytics. Tracking tone shifts in text messages. Reading subtle changes in someone’s energy and immediately internalizing them. It often manifests as, “I surrendered, now what?” The nervous system signals fear of losing control.

Self-Supervision

Instead of embodying deep trust, Certainty, and releasing any attachment to outcomes and specifics, you notice yourself carrying a performative confidence: “I’m going to look calm.” “Should I tone this down? Is this too much?” “ Maybe I should do this… so he/she may…” This could look like mid-sentence editing, double-texting, or over-explaining yourself. This could look like adjusting your personality to maintain likability, mulling over your decision, overcompensating your beliefs and standing on a matter, or policing your tone in your recordings for the 100th time.

Second Guessing
This often looks like an immediate defaulting into unworthiness and self-rejection when met with no response or disappointments. It may manifest as assigning meaning to everything, second-guessing your identity, and taking things personally, especially when the outcome is not congruent with your expectations. It showcases your nervous system’s inability to sit with ambiguity or Certainty when the outcome you seek has not yet presented itself. This may look like, “Maybe I am not cut out to find a partner, to hold a relationship, to be a business owner, to start over, to live a new reality, etc.”

The Inability To Hold When The Correct Invitations Arrive
This is the most subtle but the clearest indicator that you carry an inner state of unhealthy receivership. Yes, you may still attract opportunities, experiences, and people who represent what you desire, but you do not embody the expansion within you to hold them when they arrive. They may look like:

misaligned clients because you undercharge and did not screen them well
overexplain and overcompensate to the point of exhaustion because your energy signals urgency and tension
when a large sum of money arrives, you spend it right away
an inability to receive love or support or to claim your desires
freezing or self-sabotaging when an aligned opportunity arrives, because your nervous system flags it as danger or unfamiliarity or “too good to be true.”
carrying an old belief that history will eventually repeat itself for you

A gripping instead of a calm and open posture.

“Divine timing isn’t actually about time, since time doesn’t truly exist.

It’s more about the inner growth you need to experience, letting go of limiting beliefs and emotions, and aligning your energy to the reality you want to create. It’s about becoming the version of yourself that matches that reality, and that shift can happen as soon as tomorrow.”

How Healthy Receivership In Waiting Would Look Like Instead

Active waiting with unhealthy receivership signals a call to build your capacity, or rather, start tuning into it and noticing how that ties in with your interactions with the world, how you are meant to serve, and how you can step into empowerment as a Projector in your Projectorhood journey.

Active waiting with healthy receivership is open, patient, composed, and unwavering. Certainty and openness.

It is fortified even in chaos, even when the present reality has not caught up. It does not mirror tension or urgency or fake composure. It does not prance around for a specific outcome, micro-manage, or self-supervise, or, good lord, second-guess yourself; it trusts that it’s already inevitably yours (because it is). True active waiting arises from the inner state of healthy receivership. It is a capacity-building for the nervous system and an ongoing Self-concept work. It is about increasing tolerance for non-movement, without collapsing into fear or initiation. And when it arrives, you do not brace, doubt, or question. You meet it with normalcy and capacity because you innately know you have arrived at a receivership identity that no longer shrinks but expands by waiting.

Your only role is to hold this frequency before the recognition, opportunities, and desires you seek show up for you.

That’s where receivership and active waiting intersect.

I am so passionate about the intersection of waiting and receivership, especially on how that is often swept under the rug in Human Design. I have witnessed how poor receivership has kept many Projectors disempowered, and how switching that shifted them tremendously in their energetic posture and, subsequently, led them to the INEVITABLE recognition they deserve.

Yesterday I had a Chinese New Year reunion dinner with a group of friends.

David has always been someone I considered an older brother figure, someone I deeply admire and look up to. His wife’s name is Jane. About a decade ago, we were all introduced to one another by a mutual friend. The three of us started Lefty Divers, a bespoke scuba diving club that we built from scratch. We named it Lefty Divers because the three of us were all left-handers. I remember being a scuba diving instructor who knew nobody and nothing about the diving scene in Singapore. (I was certified in New Zealand and mostly dove in temperate water then)

I remember shaking his hand in the middle of the vegetable aisle of a supermarket that random afternoon, exclaiming mutually in zest, “Let’s do this!”

We ran this passion project for about a year, taking numerous weekend trips across the border to Malaysia to certify multiple students. While fellow Singaporeans were spending an ordinary weekend at home, we were busy changing in and out of our wetsuits by midday, setting up tanks, shepherding divers in and out of the water, lecturing our students about the importance of buoyancy, conversing in sign language underwater, searching for sea turtles, octopuses, and sharks in the South China Sea. We organized midweek pool sessions. We took multiple private clients to remote, off-the-beaten-track locations across Asia. We all knew that sense of satisfaction when we witnessed someone overcoming their fears, or when their eyes lit up underwater doing a sport like this. It rewarded us. Most importantly, we brought people together, united by our mutual love for the ocean— the reason we were even introduced in the first place.

I love David and Jane. They were the older sibling love I have always wanted.

Fast forward a decade, and I rarely see them now, only when I am visiting home. David and Jane are welcoming their second child. David just left his job and is pursuing his dream of becoming a full-time trader. And here I am, returning home from a whole year as a full-time digital business owner, single and calling in my life partner.

Amongst anyone from my past, David and Jane were amongst those who knew me best as that Sylvia who carried the identity of a scuba diving instructor. Again, no, I don’t mean the version of me who was always decked in a bikini and shorts, having sun-kissed skin and salt-drenched hair, etc. I am referring to that version of me with her unique set of thoughts, belief systems, dominant emotional states, and curated aligned actions. The version of me who couldn’t see herself beyond a diving instructor. That old Sylvia.

If anything, they have witnessed the most palpable change in me over this last decade.

Today’s Substack is not about identity; it is about witnessing.

The power of true recognition.

So here is the thing that moved me as I write this…

For the first time in our decade-old friendship, we talked about Human Design.

For anyone who knows me personally, including the clients and mentees I work with, they will know I do not freely overshare or initiate any kind of dialogue or unsolicited advice, especially in the arena of Human Design. (I teach a framework here about waiting, and if you are a Projector, you can explore it here under my free Projector’s 3 Agents of Change guidebook)

Last evening, in the dining room of David and Jane’s home, I was formally invited to talk about Human Design. And it did not take long before our conversation expanded into identity work, quantum leaping, meditation, brainwave states, reprogramming your mind, perceiving your desires as already here, emotions as a language of your subconscious, and more. (all the things I am so passionate about!)

And they wanted more.

There was electricity in the air.

An energetic opening.

A receptive posture.

A steadfast recognition that opened up. A deep reciprocity.

A call to be guided, to be supported, and resourced.

We were all enthused.

We were with another friend, Jenric.

Both of them started writing down notes on their phones.

There was a deep, sustained, and visceral sacral yes from all of them that echoed “tell me more!”

The conversation was on fire. We went on for almost five hours.

I was in a space surrounded by sacral beings and there it was— a witnessing of a true Projector-Generator sacral dance.

David was a 4/6 Sacral Generator.

Ha, obviously we were introduced by a friend! Obviously, he met his wife at a dive center. Obviously, his mentor was a friend. He is 45 years old now. Obviously, he was meant to be a role model.

Jane was a 5/1 Emotional Manifesting Generator.

Unstoppable since day 1.

Jenric was a 1/3 Sacral Generator.

Of course, we got along so well and have multiple shared experiences because I was a 1/3 too.

And myself— a 1/3 Self Projected Projector.

As sacral beings, aka Generators and Manifesting Generators, one’s biggest mission is simply to "dance with life", responding to what lights them up, tuning into their sacral, and making decisions accordingly. Projectors, on the other hand, are here to guide when we are invited and recognized to do so, and that normally includes guiding the creative expressions of the sacral beings.

When seen deeply by a Projector, a sacral being feels valued, resourced, and empowered. As a Projector’s aura is penetrative, it is designed to see the other deeply. When invited to guide (not do), a mutual reciprocity opens up alongside the sharing of our insights, wisdom, craft, and mastery, making us feel deeply witnessed and recognized. The sacral individuals eventually learn to honor their unique process of being, which is about being lit up by life and what they are immersed in. They become magnetic and sparkly; an energy so palpable and uplifting that it inevitably inspires anyone who interacts.

The Projectors feel seen, remunerated, and recognized for their support and guidance of the sacral beings. The reciprocity works. We thrive on our unique roles and mission. Both win.

And that is the beautiful alchemy of the Projector-Generator sacral dance.

A key thing to add here is that recognition does not equate to visibility.

Recognition precedes formal invitations. They represent an energetic opening that can sound like:

Hey xxx, can you tell me more? I want to dive deeper into this with you. I want to be guided by you. What are your thoughts behind this vs this? When can we set up a call? When can I see you next? I’d love your thoughts on this matter.

Recognition is not about being needed because it feels convenient. Recognition is about being intentionally chosen. It rarely has anything to do with praises or compliments.

Unfortunately for many Projectors, true recognition can feel like the farthest thing in one’s life. It normally signals that we have not been living in alignment with our most authentic selves, searching for recognition in the wrong environment, and leading with performance and effort that override our natural states of ease and receptivity. That perhaps a deep part of you is still second-guessing yourself.

So, Projector—think about your recent interactions with others.

Have you recently experienced being deeply witnessed and recognized for your guidance? Especially in moments, environments, and situations where you least expect?

What were the responses and reactions that were shared with you?

Did it feel like Projector Success for you?

What other emotions came up?

Hold onto that, let that be the sign to be bigger than the voice of resistance, that conviction to keep going when doubt creeps in.

The Universe always provides if you are clear on your desires. Most people skip this part. Things are happening for you. You are not abandoned or left behind.

The Universe is offering you evidence—gentle receipts of being seen and recognized, so your body can learn that this is safe and begin to normalize receiving more of it.

You are on the right track.

Guidance is not confined to a single type, shape, or form. It has no ceiling. What does guidance look like for you?

Above all, you, my Projector, you wholeheartedly deserve to feel true recognition too.

Today, my sister-in-law asked if I would ever return to my diving career.

For anyone who does not know my story, I was a diving professional for over a decade.

Don’t get me wrong yet.

I loved it so much.

It was literally the best job ever.

For others, it was the exotic vacation of a lifetime; for me, it was another regular day in the paradise I called home. Being a diving instructor has given me the opportunity to live in countries I could not have imagined for myself a few decades ago.

Palau, México, New Zealand, and the Maldives— where I had spent most of my professional life.

On top of it, I was also damn good at my job.

I had the best team in the world. We complemented one another. We laughed, we joked, we argued, we disagreed, but we never lost sight of one another as a team. Till this day, they have not stopped asking me to come back.

I had guests from all over the world visiting the resort I was in just to see and dive with me again. Many entrusted their kids to me. I still have students with whom I am in touch this today. I had multiple students who returned over the years just to learn and pursued their scuba diving education. Some still send me photos of their recent dives and boast about how well of a diver they are today. I had guests telling me all the time that they could tell I was truly passionate about my job, and that witnessing me in my element in the water was a breath of fresh air, magnetic and inspirational. I was excellent at guiding and I also did a lot of doing. I also had a little family that stretched my rubber band on what romantic love and kinship felt like. (My ex and I shared a macaw who passed in March last year, you can read about him here)

And that was why saying goodbye to that life was the hardest thing I had to do.

I left not because my profession and environment were challenging. I left not because I was bad at my job or because I was no longer passionate about it.

Rather, it was quite the contrary.

I loved it so much.

But the truth was, it was not the only thing I was good at.

Deep down, I knew it was no longer aligned with what I truly desired.

I knew I deserved so, so much more.

Just because something is easy doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it.

I left because staying was easy. And the safety of stagnancy was heavier than the fear of change itself.

Making that decision to leave all of these, going ALL IN, throwing caution to the wind, befriending uncertainty head-on… doing it completely alone, packing my life in multiple luggage, moving across the globe AGAIN… saying goodbye to the very life I carried as my identity for over a decade was single-handedly the hardest thing I had to do.

The truth was, I had outgrown that old identity. I bade goodbye to this old identity over a year ago.

That old Sylvia.

And the truth was, it had very little to do with me being decked out in a bikini all day, having sun-kissed skin, living a simple and sweet island life, or the number of sharks, turtles, and rays I get to swim with on a weekly basis, or the Maldives’ breathtaking sunsets. It had nothing to do with my career really. (because yes, your identity is more than your job!).

It was that version of me with her unique set of thoughts, belief systems, dominant emotional states, and curated aligned actions.

I had outgrown her.

No, this clarity did not unfold overnight.

The outgrowth happened steadily over time. It existed in the little moments I catch myself in a loop of what if(s). It reaffirmed itself when I chose a different response to a recurring situation. It happened when I sat alone long enough with myself, a journal, and a pen. It happened when I courageously admitted to the person in the mirror that I was no longer the same person as I was.

The refusal to feel reduced by my circumstances and external reality. The self-permission to choose differently. The self-permission to trust the leap before feeling fully ready.

Because are we ever fully ready? Like really?

Last autumn, an old Maldivian friend and I caught up over the phone. During the call, he told me he felt I missed my old life and that I did not sound very happy in my current one. Of which I disagreed politely. He then mentioned that I had changed profoundly and that he could not quite string words together for it yet.

To this day, it remains one of my biggest compliments.

About Projections In The Face Of Change, And The Mirror You Become

The truth is, there will always be people from your old identity who feel confronted by your change. They may question your choices. Maybe even minimize your growth, romanticize the “old you,” or frame your expansion as impractical, selfish, or risky.

They were used to your predictability.

What felt familiar.

Because that felt familiar to their nervous system.

This is because your courage and assertion quietly confront the stories they are still burying within themselves. Your new level of ease can feel like judgment to someone who is still efforting in life. Your boundaries can feel like rejection to someone who relied on your over-giving and self-abandoning self. Your new level of Certainty and expansion of Self can feel threatening to someone who has postponed looking at their own.

They feel contracted by your expansion.

There is no right and wrong in this.

There is no right and wrong if one chooses to remain the same, and if one chooses to level up, dig deeper, and carry the self-permission for an upgrade.

What matters is what you decide for yourself.

When you stepped out of your old identity and shifted energetically, this shift is most palpable with your relationships. Let these relationships reorient organically without losing the integrity you have earned by doing your inner and Self-Concept work.

An Ode To My Old Self — The Disempowered Projector

To the one who kept saying yes when she meant no.

To the one who thought over-giving would earn her a place at the table or the affection she deeply yearned for.

To the one who prided herself on her productivity as a badge of honor.

To the one who mistook exhaustion for Success and identified rejection as her worth.

To the one who tried to keep up with the endless hum of energy around her,
never realizing her rhythm was designed to move differently, that it was never about keeping up or fitting in, but standing out.

To the one who assumed self-protection over self-allowance growing up, never realizing she never really allowed herself to ever receive.

To the one who eventually realizes that the exhaustion and pushing were not normal, that waiting for recognition does not equate to waiting in despair. That her body held all the clues, if she had listened more intently. That if she listened, she would realize that she was designed to move differently, to guide, not to grind.

To the one who waited — not in power, but in despair, not in empowerment, but in resignation. Who thought waiting meant she was forgotten, or late, or too slow,
who thought she had to speak louder, do more, command the room, so she would be chosen, loved and heard.

To the one who tries to do everything on her own, because being resourced means being indebted.

To the one who avoided the mirror of her own healing,
who filled her hours with distractions, borrowed narratives, and excuses,
because change felt heavier than staying the same.

I honor you. I honor all of you.
You did not know another way.
You were surviving the only way you could.

You did not know another way because no one showed you a glimpse of what another reality could look like.

But I no longer live with you.

I have lovingly outgrown you.

I have learned rest is not laziness, but a sacredness, and sensitivity is not a weakness but a gift.

I have learned my worth was never tied to output.

I have learned that waiting can feel equally soft, fun, playful and flourishing, not depleting.

I have learned that waiting is a refinement towards correct and aligned interactions and recognition that is meant for me.

I have learned that I am not for everyone.

I have learned to let my aura work its magic rather than letting the reins of my mind get in the way.

I have learned to say yes to a waiting that looks different in every season of my life.

I have learned that what is correct for me may not make sense to the world, and I listen to it anyway.

I have learned to say yes to myself before saying yes to the world.

You brought me here at a time when I needed to learn, to grow, to expand, and now I release you.

I can take it from here now, my love.

With gratitude. With love. With remembrance.

Love, your future self.

There is a palpable change in the air. Can you feel it?

Neptune, the planet of spirituality, illusion, dreams, fantasy, and the subconscious mind, has finally left the reign of Pisces, and here we are entering the reign of Aries after 14 years.

One of the biggest shifts surrounding this celestial transit is the relinquishing of any performative, embellished aesthetic in the name of growth and spirituality, to make space for true, embodied, actionable change in one’s life.

This shift in energy is about moving away from the mental plane of intellectualizing and theorizing knowledge and wisdom, and toward their embodiment and application in our day-to-day lives.

It is about the dissolution of the airy-fairy language and the suggestive facades that were draped in avoidance for fear of appearing too polarising, too disruptive, too blunt, too bold.

Too much.

It is about emerging (not leaning) into the discomfort— audaciously, unpolishedly, and oftentimes vulnerably too.

On a personal level, this may look like:

removing oneself from the subtle avoidance/procrastinatory language of “One day it will/shall happen. Maybe one day when I have the space for it. This is too hard. Maybe next time… If only… this, if only… that. In the next life, we will be.” that has encroached your self-dialogue and beliefs on repeat.

Yes, that bullshit.

This transit represents a homecoming and, if anything, an honest reckoning with yourself.

One that includes active self-reflection and self-accountability, not passive signalling and zero participation.

The energy we are here for is about showing up for yourself and your desires (not the world, your parents, your child or anyone else) and wholeheartedly upgrading your current identity through your thoughts, emotional states, beliefs, and aligned, inspired actions.

It is the steadfast devotion to confront the limitations that surround your victimhood narrative and the role you played in it.

It is about prioritizing selfhood and self-agency.

It is about redefining a new baseline for showing up authentically as the person you want to be, and the reality you deeply seek.

This energy is about grounded embodiment. No longer an embellished roleplay.

And yes, it entails letting go. Making space for the new.

Crt- alt-del.

Shedding.

And it may break some hearts, or even your own.

It may even feel all too foreign; discombobulating.

It may even look like grief.

Or a succession of griefs.

For the last fourteen years Neptune in Pisces had us swimming in something beautiful and confusing —spirituality went mainstream, astrology became an industry, we learned all the language for our wounds and our patterns and our healing journeys. And some of that was real and some of that was a really sophisticated way to avoid our actual lives while feeling like we were doing important work.

That era is ending.

That fog is lifting now and what’s coming next doesn’t care about your altar setup or your meditation streak or how healed you sound on the internet.

So here are my questions for you:

Think back to the version of you 14 years ago, and the version you are today.

What and where have you unconsciously and consciously been avoiding to meet, acknowledge, and express wholeheartedly within yourself?

What old falsehoods and misaligned identities have been bubbling to the surface in your life lately? Where have you been wearing your rose-tinted glasses?

Which areas of your life are calling for more self-assertion and less idealisation?

How can you balance a "me-first" instinct with patience while developing a deeper understanding and empathy for others?

My Story

Around the end of last year, I arrived at a painful, but brutally honest, reckoning with myself.

I said goodbye to someone I considered a forever person.

He was someone who scored a place in my heart for 14 years.

All my close friends knew his name. Some lovingly pedestaled him as I did, some grew tired of listening to his infamous name, and one even gave him a comical nickname on my behalf.

Obscured and hidden from the knowledge of most of my exes and lovers (sorry y’all), I never mentioned him. For a long time, we held a mutual idealisation, longing, and fantasy of one another that spanned across distances, over time zones, and a long period of time apart.

And here was the truth, it never really felt a- part with him.

We spoke and shared our dreams, fears, hopes, and goals so intimately, mostly virtually by texts, and lyrics in the music we exchanged.

He saw and knew multiple versions of me that no man did, and held each of them so lovingly.

He knew the version of me who had never lived abroad back in 2011 (now I’ve lived in 7 countries).

He knew me when I was still the silly sheepish Sylvia who could not look at her crush without blushing.

He knew the version of me who did not know how to put on an eyeliner or contour her face.

He knew the version of me who found love in simplicity, barefoot walking, waking up to the sunrise, and the melody of waves.

He knew the version of me who was a poet before a writer. A snorkeler before a diver. A dive instructor before a business owner.

The messy, confused, oftentimes impulsive, and, deeply insecure versions of me that existed before the person I am today.

He was my muse behind it all.

And there was the pain. The remorse, the guilt, the confusion, the labyrinth and the complexity of loving someone who does not belong to you… With him, we were always challenging each other to grow, but we never had one another fully.

The last time we met was almost a decade ago. Almost a decade of out-of-sight, out-of-mind did nothing to our connection. Perhaps one I may never ever have answers for.

He was my best friend.

And admittedly, also my krytonite.

We both knew that if a physical meeting was warranted, no formidable force or willpower would keep us from touching one another.

And if I were ever being honest with myself, for the longest time, I have left a place for him in my heart over the years. And if I were ever really, really honest, there was always a 10% hope that we could finally be together in this life.

This delusion and idealisation crumbled the day he told me he was becoming a dad.

That news hit me like a trainwreck I never saw coming.

Alongside came the painful reckoning that I had never been fair to anyone everyone I had dated since him. That this very fantasy we held for so long was always the emotional baggage we both refused to acknowledge. That the reason why I never pursued or questioned the possibility of us, even once throughout these years with him, was because I preferred this ambiguity. Because it represented a silly hope. Because it felt safe. Because we did not have to confront our fear of losing one another. Because we were weak.

And most of all, that I held a role in enabling our confusion by repeatedly allowing his access in my life. That I wholeheartedly, although unconsciously, played a role in perpetuating this ineffable disillusionment of ours.

That I had abandoned myself in doing so.

But great love should not feel self-abandoning.

Great love should feel certain, not confusing.

Great love is built on deliberate choices, not convenience.

Mutually.

And so I did.

Letting him go was the second most painful thing I had to do since grieving the loss of my parrot last year.

But most importantly, with the breaking of my heart, I am still breathing today.

And I know I can do this.

Growth is nothing but a succession of shedding and initiations of identities.

And for my identity moving forward, I have consciously chosen this Sylvia who no longer self-abandons in love, no longer accept breadcrumbs, no longer carries expired emotional baggages. She knows deeply what she deserves, and takes aligned and powerful decisions accordingly.

An identity without him in it.

And there is no looking back anymore.

Self Concept

A big part of what I teach in my work, which I am incredibly passionate about, is called the Self-Concept, aka Identity Work.

It is based on the belief that our identity is fluid and changeable, a neurological habit. And our identity is the biggest fuel behind every energetic upgrade, shift, quantum leap, and manifestation.

And if we want to change our lives for a different reality, we need to upgrade our inner landscape.

An identity shift must precede every change, no matter how minuscule or grand it may appear.

“Your new life is going to cost you your old one.”

Think of it this way for a moment.

For many of us, we have experienced a life running on autopilot, feeling stagnated, inauthentic, and potentially misaligned. But we stay in it because it feels familiar to our subconscious mind. Trying something new and risking failing, doing something different, starting a business, losing weight, getting rich, eating healthy, becoming wealthy, moving to a new country, exploring a new romantic/platonic connection, a new vocation, stepping out of a relationship, or even starting a new hobby CAN scare the shit out of us.

We become apprehensive because, deep down, we fear that if we change too much or show up differently, we will be rejected by the ones we love.

For that reason, many of us spend our very finite time on earth creating excuses, procrastinating, and self-sabotaging our potential and the possibility of another reality. Instead of leaping into the glorious unknown and taking the inward path of self-discovery and self-awareness, we indulged in instant gratification, persisted with our excuses, marinated in our self-deprecating dialogue, and found respite in everyday distractions.

Everyone arrives on this planet as humans with our unique set of purpose, gifts, and talents (and you can learn this through your Human Design). And as you journey through life, your mere job is to discover them, nurture them, liberate these gifts, and bloom into the most authentic and badass version of yourself.

What if this entirety and fragment of your daydream is completely within your reach?

What if you can make a different decision tomorrow, will you?

Will you stop letting yourself get in your own way?

It All Begins With Our Identity

Let’s be honest. Your current reality is a result of two things. 1) your deliberate decisions that you have made, 2) your current level of identity.

Your identity consists of a collection of your past experiences, your formed beliefs, your thoughts, your current dominant emotional states, and the aligned actions you have taken that have brought you to where you are today. To shift your reality, you need to upgrade your identity. You have to expand your Self-Concept. You have to normalize working with your identity.

You do so because you recognize the need to expand accordingly and that you are not here to hold a fixed identity forever.

You understand that you can always reinvent yourself, that behind every growth in your journey is just a succession of shedding and courageous initiations.

And in saying yes to this—

You’ll have to flatten fear, pressure and urgency.

You have to learn to befriend your resistance and pacify the whims and fancies of your subconscious mind. You’ll have to embrace a new relationship with neutrality.

You’ll have to make presence a portal. You’ll have to be very intentional with every single thought, belief, and emotion you are carrying. You’ll have to exit the lack mentality.

You’ll have to cultivate Certainty.

You’ll have to be unabashedly yourself and unabashedly chase what you desire. You’ll have to shed the old you, potentially multiple times (with grace and charm).

You’ll have to be bigger than your circumstances. You’ll have to let reality bend to you, not the other way around.

You’ll have to create a new identity in the face of every old reality.

And most of all, you’ll have to carry a self permission to accept this deliberate work. You’ll see through this work even when it feels discouraging, even when doubt creeps in, even when you are tested. You’ll have to keep showing up.

And one day, working with your identity will no longer feel daunting or labourious. It feels like an exhale. It feels neutral. Quantum leaps are normal. You are no longer overwhelmed by having desires. Getting what you want is attainable because it finally feels normal.

Want to learn to surf? Identity work.

Want to stabilize your revenue? Identity work.

Want to add a new offering to your business? Identity work.

Remember, identity shift must precede each collapse of time and each quantum leap.

As we approach the highly anticipated Saturn Neptune conjunction at 0 degrees Aries on 20th/21st February, the emphasis and theme of individuality and “I am” is louder than ever. During this transit, we are all ushered to a new perspective on our reality.

You can totally make it happen (Aries energy).

But what will it take for you to take that leap and start afresh?

Self-concept has completely transformed the way I live, act, and breathe.

The version of my identity AND my current reality today is not the same as how it was a year ago. And it is my hope to encourage this possibility for everyone too.

For over two decades, I kept a part of myself hidden from the world.

I have always been told that I could write well and string emotions into words when others couldn’t.

For the longest time during my teenage years, I kept a private LiveJournal blog. In there, I wrote about the lowest of my lows and the highest of my highs; all the challenges, heartbreaks, and trials in life have gotten me this far. I wrote poems and prose about love, floating clouds, impermanence, the feeling of being unbelonged, and misunderstood. I was fearful of the world seeing this side of me, this erratic, moody, and melancholic side of Sylvia, who secretly wore her heart on her sleeve. The blog was akin to the immaculately handpicked songs in my private playlist on my first iPod nano (bless those simpler days), which I rarely shared with anyone.

During that time, I also had a nickname, the Elmo girl, mainly because I was known as the girl who would always smile widely without her teeth. Smiling was masking for me. Smiling was self-protection for me.

I remember looking at myself in the mirror countless times, wondering when the day would arrive when I would feel comfortable smiling with my teeth.

Comfortable, being in my own skin.

A question I often get asked now is, “How did you end up starting your business?” How did this decision unfold?

The truth was, I did not set out to start a business, nor specifically a soul-led business.

Back in 2019, I was beginning to pull myself up piece by piece from what I can only describe as my second dark night of the soul. It was that year that I delved into topics I intentionally pursued, such as spirituality, self-healing, self-care, and personal growth. I decided to share the tools that supported me and my journey on a public blog, with the sole purpose of inspiring, uplifting, and empowering others.

I just knew I was ready to be seen.

I wanted to be seen because, heck, I literally pulled myself up from an ashes-to-flames moment.

Nothing ahead could be worse than what I had undergone, and here I was still breathing. But it wasn’t just that, I knew there was no going back to the version of me before.

And this version of me today was ready to be seen.

Fast forward 7 years, and Arawme and I have evolved, and here I am in this chapter of my life, running a soul-led business full-time as a Projector mentor and business guide.

Would I ever imagine myself where I was 2 decades ago? No.

Well, I just decided to start healing and stop hiding.

I decided to be the co-creator instead of the victim.

I decided to finally let myself be seen.

Do it for no one but you.

Fearing being seen is an example of a receiver resistance that hinders how we approach Active Waiting as a Projector, and it does not just show up in business; it shows up everywhere in life. They are rooted in the same nervous system imprints, childhood conditioning, and ancestral patterns. They play out in subtle, everyday interactions.

And if you are carrying a similar fear around visibility, judgement and rejection, and/or oscillating within a perpetual cycle of self-doubt, and authenticity,

No, you do not need to go through some dramatic dark night of the soul initiation in your life to finally feel courageous.

No, you do not need the Universe to nudge something catastrophic in your life to finally decide to heal your fear of being seen.

Most of all, you do not have to keep hiding behind this fear any longer.

Below are some self-reflective prompts to support you in your contemplation today:

• What are you currently resisting in your life?

• Where are you currently holding yourself back?

• How has my fear of being seen protected me in the past?

• What would my younger self be afraid might happen if I were fully visible?

• Where do I feel the fear of being seen in my body?

• What stories do I carry about who is allowed to be seen and who is not?

• What sensations arise when I imagine sharing my voice, work, or truth publicly?

• What version of myself do I believe others will see when I step forward?

• In what ways have I confused being visible with needing to be liked?

• What would change if I believed my visibility did not require approval?

• What am I afraid people will project onto me?

Do it for yourself, do it for your higher self, and the younger you.

The higher self, because they know that your potential exists when you cross over this discomfort.

The younger you, because they had their authenticity stripped from them from a young age, where staying small, dimming their own light, fitting into the mold, staying passive, and keeping to themselves were encouraged and prioritized—and it is time to end this old programming.

Do it because it is fun. Do it simply for the joy of it.

Do it because this one deafening fear may just be the key to what is holding you back from the opportunities, synchronicities, connections, and soul-aligned individuals that are meant for you.

Do it not because the fear is loud.

Do it because the fear of remaining the same and the recurring thought of what-ifs are louder.

The truth is, the discomfort of growth is always less dangerous than the illusion of security. And the healing work of growth isn’t the path of least resistance, but a path of choice and consciousness.

So one may ask, how do I get over my fear of being seen?

You begin by acknowledging your fears, sitting with your fragments, and getting curious with your woundings and borrowed conditionings.

You begin by healing yourself courageously and stop hiding behind your pain.

You begin by speaking to yourself differently today.

You begin by prioritizing your energetic mastery; dispensing your energy more intentionally, and getting clear who has access to you.

You begin by surrounding yourself with people who make you feel seen and recognized already, and stop shrinking yourself in places with those who make you feel otherwise.

You begin by taking baby steps.

You begin by learning to take up space all over again.

You begin by choosing to be the co-creator of your reality rather than the victim of your circumstances today.

Being visible means recognizing ourselves authentically, including the parts that feel imperfect, flawed, inconsistent, fragmented, and vulnerable and yet, still show up wholeheartedly as we are.

Being visible does not mean befriending fear right away.

Being visible means choosing love and managing your perceived fear simultaneously.

May we all feel seen together.

Healing my fear of being seen is still something I am working on to this day.

And every time I intentionally neutralize this fear, no matter how minuscule it may seem, I am expanding my capacity to align with the version of myself who can hold it all.

I was not this confident, self-assured and empowered Projector I am today, right away.

Back in 2018, the old Sylvia was standing on the beach by the Indian Ocean, bawling her eyes out over a heartbreak. My skin and lymph nodes were flaring up, I was the most underweight I had been, my nervous system was dysregulated, and I had just spent thousands of dollars on advisors and psychics. I was seeking external validation because I couldn’t hold space for myself. I equated my pain and my circumstances with my identity.

But the worst of all?

My energy was a live broadcast of desperation, confusion and bitterness.

My self-worth? Tossed in the depths of the ocean.

My power? I couldn’t access it because I was so deeply in disempowerment, even to pay attention.

Waiting, healing, receiving, and inner work were words that did not belong in my vocabulary then.

I woke up one morning and decided that this was enough.

That henceforth, that version of Sylvia shall no longer exist.

I was so done, done.

It took a long period of marinating in my disempowerment, and the subsequent realization of it, that made that shift a permanent reality.

The awareness of Human Design amplified and cemented this new shift for me; it shone a light on what I overlooked and what was possible. The rest, honestly, was my own work, alongside the countless hours and thousands of dollars that I invested in my personal growth, inner work, professional studies, and spiritual education.

And here is the real truth and your real wealth:

Wherever you are in your journey, you are in complete control of turning it around 180 degrees—if you decide to.

I know this because I have been there, where you are right now —the crossroads of what is and what could be, and my current life is a testament to what happens when you take that leap beyond that voice of hesitation and strings of procrastination.

Leap and the net will appear.

You do not have to do it alone— the way I did.

You do not have to navigate or hold it all by yourself — the way I did.

You can absolutely access a different reality while being supported, resourced, and guided by someone else, someone who sees you.

But only if you let yourself be seen.

Identity is a living, breathing verb.

You are not here to hold onto a singular version of you your entire life.

In fact, the version of you today is a sum of decisions that you made six months ago, and maybe even six years ago. Our identity is something we live, shape, and redefine through our choices.

Who you were yesterday doesn’t limit who you can be today. You’re allowed to evolve, to upgrade your beliefs, and to outgrow versions of yourself that no longer fit. You are allowed to choose differently and call in a different reality.

At any moment, you can absolutely recreate, upgrade, and outgrow versions of yourself.

The question is, will you take that leap?

As I write this, I am staring out at my balcony. The sun is setting earlier now, the winter months are arriving, and you can feel the quiet, almost amicable shift in the air, the shedding and the changing colors of the leaves, everyone hurrying into their homes earlier than usual. In the background, I hear the faint chirping of the birds, smoke arising out of my neighbour’s porch. I am unsure what they are burning, but it just looks like a scene from a movie, played in slow motion, except this is real.

Except, this is my reality.

In the blink of an eye, I have been in Italy for over three weeks now.

The 7th country I’ve lived in.

I am currently in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, an area less explored by tourists but a well-kept favorite amongst Italians, especially in the summer and winter months.

My balcony overlooks the beautifully, neatly tucked houses, alongside rows of olive trees sprawling over the hills (colle), with views of the majestic Abruzzo mountains and the coast of the Adriatic Sea.

Perfection would be an understatement.

A couple of days ago, I was reflecting on how my life has shifted since last October.

For those who do not know my backstory. A year ago, I summoned the courage to tell my team I had decided to leave my job. At that time, I was a full-time diving instructor in the Maldives.

Since my second return to the Maldives in 2021, I have been working full-time as a diving instructor and on the side, with my soul-led business, Arawme. The Maldives has been such a profound and activating chapter of my life, one that I will always be grateful for. A country I had called home for over seven years of my life.

But I knew deeply in my G center; my soul was gently nudged in a different direction —one deeply tied to purpose and service, and that nudge had grown louder over time. And I knew change was necessary.

On another level, too, I was waiting for a formal invitation for this significant change in my life. And I did, after almost 2.5 years in the waiting. I received three invitations.

In December 2024, I left for Prague on a one-way ticket.

Fast forward to today —ten months down, here I am in central Italy.

On the periphery, I did the following:

• travelled to five countries this year, three of which were new

• finally tried my first snow sport (snowboarding! and loved it!)

• finally celebrated Chinese New Year with my family back home after missing it for four years in a row because of work

• moved back to Mexico after ten years (except this time was the Pacific coast aka new lessons, new experiences)

• reunited with decade-old friends

• got stung by my first sea urchin (also survived by kiting right after it happened with the spines on my foot)

• saw my first mobular ray aggregation!

• saw my first humpback whales (mama and calf) breaching!!

• kitesurfed for the first time with a community of kitesurfers, finally not alone

• kitesurfed in waves and not flatwater (boy, it was such a culture shock)

• moved to a new place without knowing anyone (Oaxaca!)

• hiked up to Mexico’s 6th highest peak in a single day (La Malinche)

• learnt Latin dancing! (salsa, bachata, cumbia)

• made many new friends

• fell in love again, lost in love too

• began dating again

• finally reunited with family in England after a decade

• finally met the nieces I saw growing up through social media, in person for a chane

• finally ate many Asian delicacies and drank decent bubble tea!

• made friends with many animals too

• currently learning Italian

• started Substack and resumed my love for writing

• and of course, losing the love of my life, my baby macaw, from a tragic accident

On top of all of these, I am still in awe that I have spent this entire year in six countries so far, running a soul-led business that has offered me the freedom and abundance I once dreamt of.

My soul work impacting and activating thousands of Projectors globally.

But the truth was, the biggest shift was not any of the above.

It was in reclaiming myself…

It was shifting out of survivor mode that had been my norm for what felt like eons.

It was befriending Certainty.

It was a 180-degree overhaul of my mindset.

It was embodying intentionality, slowing down, and adopting rest and play as a form of productivity.

It was accepting and trusting the wait as a Projector in life with full Certainty and clarity.

It was anchoring my business ecosystem so deeply in her foundation and aligning it with my capacity.

It was accepting the fact that healing can exist alongside living, impacting, and supporting others.

It was adopting manifestation as a lifestyle instead of a monthly ritual.

It was ritualizing and romanticizing every area of my life with so much intentionality, awe, and playfulness.

It was building new habits and refining old ones.

It was recalibrating my nervous system. (My nervous system has never been this calm and regulated)

It was forgiving my mom (across distance).

It was prioritizing my gut, skin, and brain health.

It was allowing grief a room, and allowing myself to enter when I prefer, but not making it the center of my life anymore.

It was a succession of quantum leaps.

It was the continuous shedding and upgrading of my identity.

It was investing in my growth and expansion in the spheres of business, relationships, manifestations, and inner work.

It was living softly and gently.

It was finding power in moving powerfully, not quickly.

It was challenging my fears, consciously levelling up, and choosing my upgraded identity with worth.

It was the deliberate act of slowing down as my new energetic currency, every single day.

All while sipping my daily ceremonial matcha, of course. 🍵

I don’t think I have been more embodied and empowered as a Projector in my life than the person I am today.

It almost feels like this year was my quiet homecoming.

A dethroning of the outdated version of Sylvia that I deeply and dearly care for and love, and simultaneously stepping into this upgraded version of Sylvia 2.0, who is never looking back.

And you can do that too. Now.

Yes I know what you are thinking.

And no, you do not need the perfect conditions for things to fall into place, nor do you need to wait for the new year to reflect and let go of what no longer serves you. I will write about readiness in another piece.

The Winter Arc begins from the 1st of October through to the end of the year. It is an invitation for you to consider and reflect on what in your life requires refinement, discipline, shedding, and action before we roll out for the New Year.

How do I want to end the year?

How do I wish to start the year?

What old, outdated beliefs, thoughts, and emotions have I outgrown and am being called to gently let go of?

What does my body long for when everything else grows quiet?

Where in my life am I being invited to slow down, not out of resistance, but reverence?

Which parts of me are asking for warmth, softness, or gentler care this season?

“Your new life will cost you the old one.”

Below are a couple of new and old habits that have tremendously shaped and supported my current slow and soft life as a Projector.

I share about these and more in greater depth in my group container and 1:1 clients.

• Waking up with the sun

A habit I deeply relish for the entire year is waking up with the sun and falling asleep with the moon, syncing my body with the circadian rhythm. Morning light helps regulate our body’s 24-hour sleep-wake cycle, which I find really important as an Active Brain individual. My body is so wired to wake up at a specific time that no alarm is required. I no longer sleep in blackout curtains or rooms, and would prefer a room facing east for the morning sun! If I do not get to wake up with the sun, I will always spend at least 20 minutes reading in direct, unfiltered sunlight.

• Daily morning walk

This has been the most revolutionary for me! I have always been a strong proponent of slower movements as a Projector and indulge in sports like swimming, snorkeling, skating, as opposed to running. This February, I had a health issue, which brought my attention again to the importance of gut health. As my work has now become more sedentary, I decided to give a morning walk a go. My walk lasts approximately 50 -60 minutes (5000-6000 steps, approximately 5km each time), and I do it right after my morning spiritual practice within the first hour of waking up.

During my walk, I also listen to high vibe tracks from my Projector Slay Playlist (it is free, explore it here) and recite my Morning Mantras. Besides feeling really good, I have also noticed significant postural improvement. Walking is a natural form of bilateral movement stimulation because the rhythmic, alternating motion of your arms and legs activates both hemispheres of the brain. As it requires the prefrontal cortex for balance, coordination, and awareness of the environment, walking is scientifically proven to interrupt and reduce the bandwidth of overthinking and looping thoughts.

Walking as a bilateral stimulation also calms our nervous system, soothing the “fight or flight” response, reducing anxiety, and the general feeling of being overwhelmed. I can go on and on about the benefits of walking. For anyone feeling stagnated energetically, I would 100% recommend giving this a go.

• Warm gut-friendly breakfast

In recent years, I have noticed more sensitivity around my gut. As someone who had a few health breakdowns primarily from my gut, I have learnt to prioritize brain, gut and skin health through my food choices. Early this year, I made a switch to strengthen my Spleen Qi support by consuming only a warm, nourishing breakfast. My current breakfast comprises a bowl of miso soup (probiotics, protein, fiber), an avocado on sourdough toast (healthy fats, probiotics), and the occasional kimchi (probiotics and fiber).

Most importantly, I made a point of savoring it slowly and intentionally. My daily breakfast often revolves around savoring my food slowly and reading a non-fiction book with zero electronics.

• Reading a fiction book for my bed activity as a Projector

So I have a thing.

I’ve noticed that for the longest time, I have only been reading mindset, self-development, and philosophical books. As a slow reader and an open Ajna individual, I often reread, contemplate, highlight, and scribble the little pearl of wisdom from each book in my journal. I decided it was time to stop taking life so seriously all the time!

So I decided it was time to read fiction again.

To read a book as a bed activity where it does not involve a compulsory mental input, and what could be better than a fiction book?

I write more about the importance of a bed activity as a Projector here. Having a bedtime activity has been paramount in decompressing from the day as a Projector, priming you for a deep and restorative sleep.

My current non-fiction read is All The Colors Of The Dark by Chris Whitaker. I love any book recommendations, so if you do, drop it below in the comments!

• A daily evening solo date/downtime with myself and the sunset

I share about the importance of solo downtime as an energetic non-negotiable for Projectors. As someone who is always finding ways to romanticize my life continuously, I have decided to dedicate a daily evening moment to myself. This looks like a 20-30 minute downtime with my warm matcha latte while reading a book.

Just me, the book, zero music and oftentimes I am graced by the most astonishing sunsets. It is the most liberating and peaceful feeling ever!

My moment with the sunset may feel like a luxury, but it is always only a choice away. Nature is always reminding you to slow down, to savor, to be present, if you pay attention.

I used to overshare a lot.

In my early 20s, whenever I was in my lowest emotional state, I tended to overshare, overexplain and unload excessively on others close to me in my life. I would share the experience, situation-specific emotionality (grief, anger, resentment), and my mental thought processes.

The long chain texts, long voice memos, you get the gist of it…

I love you, my friends.

Each time I would share a piece of the experience, I would further ingrain the victim narrative in myself.

I would search for external validation as a form of coping mechanism instead of sitting with my emotionality.

With others, I would initiate conversations and inform them without first seeking to know if they had the capacity to hold space for me, and I felt bitter when I did not feel seen and understood. Bless the ones that are in my life till this very day.

I was seeking to feel validated and the need for control.

I acted out of fear, doubt, impatience and ignorance, feeding off a terrifying void of feeling unseen and unappreciated that has pervaded most of my life— a core Projector wound that we all share.

As Projectors, we desire recognition deeply.

Our aura sees so profoundly, and we want the world to witness our wisdom so dearly that it feels vulnerable and insignificant when we are ignored.

Assumed initiation felt like power to me.

An acknowledgement.

At least in the moment.

Only for it to ricochet triplefold on the ground, when it was ignored and left unheeded.

Coupled with my South Node in Cancer and Asian childhood upbringing, I have always assumed the natural role of a fixer. I spent decades tossing unsolicited advice, insights, and guidance to peers, family members, and colleagues.

I thought being a giver was a strength and held onto this “good girl image” for the longest time. Oftentimes, it left me with a pang of bitterness that can only be described as invisibility and insignificance.

In my romantic relationships, the ones that failed terribly and led to conflict and disharmony were the ones where I was not formally recognized or invited. They were the ones that felt fleeting, “butterflies in the stomach” in the beginning; the ones heavily charged and clouded by emotional intensity and undeniable chemistry for the other.

It was only when I learned about my Human Design and strategy as a Projector that it all began to make sense. Perhaps you, too, have an experience you can think of right now.

You may be thinking: But waiting just feels so difficult, and I don’t understand why.

I get it.

Because we live in a homogenized world that has governed our way of living before Human Design came into our lives. A world that feeds off urgency and conformity: deadlines, metrics, competition, “time is money,” and efficiency.

As heavily conditioned Projectors, we were so busy tying our worth to fit in, to be approved, and to be loved that it feels like all we do is just trying to survive.

Exist, not live.

What if I tell you that another reality can exist?

That, this reality already simultaneously exist in a parallel reality while you are reading this?

What if waiting is not here to limit you, but to expand your potential as a Projector?

What if waiting is your medicine for co-creation?

What if waiting is refinement, alignment, discernment and energetic sustainability all packaged together?

What if waiting is just a word disguised as sovereignty for a Projector?

What if in waiting, is you verbalizing to the world, “This is enough. I am opting out of this urgency and conformity. I am doing it my way. My Projector Way.”

There is power in the waiting.

As a Projector, every role of initiating, responding, and informing without being invited will be met with resistance, which can make us feel inadequate, unseen, and unrecognized.

When we wait for the invitation, we adopt mechanisms to slow down and not rush for things to happen. It helps us lean into our natural feminine energetics of receptivity, supporting us to thrive as Projectors. It also allows others (sacral and non-sacrals) to be drawn to us at the correct timing and for them to recognize our gifts and wisdom. Most of all, waiting for the invitation creates energetic coherence and harmony for us and everyone around us.

If I could sum up what Human Design has taught me — it is that I no longer see the world the way I used to.

But rather from an energetic lens.

It saved my relationships, too.

♡

A personal story that most do not know is that I’ve always had an estranged relationship with my mom. We were constantly clashing, rarely agreeing on the same matter. There was always dissonance in our relationship.

But we couldn’t have been more similar to one another.

My mom grew up in a chaotic household, moving from different homes in Singapore once her parents passed. She had three older brothers and an older step-sister with a wide age gap. I never knew the full story until my aunt, her step-sister, told me one fine afternoon always to have understanding for her and shared with me about my mom’s upbringing.

She told me that my mom, being the youngest, needed to become an adult very early in her life. Having lost both parents at a young age, she was often uprooted in different homes and did not have great role models who taught her values. With a wide age gap from her siblings, she did many things to fit in and survive, including developing hyper-independence and a controlling nature.

In her adulthood, she was always someone who stood out from the crowd in terms of her values, fashion, mindset, and way of life. She had a strong identity that was unwavering and fortified. She knew what being authentic naturally was. Yet, she often interrupts conversations, offering others unsolicited opinions, suggestions, and advice with a relentless insistence that they are correct for the other. She also has a naturally reclusive side; she was always comfortable being by herself, and our apartment was her cave.

My mom is a 6/2 Self-Projected Projector with a gate 8 for her Conscious Sun. I am a Self-Projected Projector too, and we both share seven open centers, except she has one fully open Spleen center, while I have no fully open centers.

But she is also an unconscious, disempowered Projector who knows nothing about Human Design, nor does she have a clue that her daughter is an expert in it…

And you know what?
That is okay.

Will that day ever come?
Some people never awake in this lifetime, and that is okay, too.

Can I have compassion for her based on her childhood trauma and lack of awareness of her Projector divinity?
Yes.

Can I gently support her with patience, empathy, and compassion in her interactions with others, and guide her in developing compassion for herself?
100%.

A boundary is not at which something stops,

but that which from something begins.”

Learning about Human Design equipped me with the awareness (mental) of our differentiated uniqueness and mission in the world.

Learning about myself as a Projector taught me not only to respect but also to have compassion for everyone’s differences. Most importantly, it taught me to honor mine so I can mirror that to support others.

Only when we understand the uniqueness and mechanics of our Projector aura can we exercise our gifts as the deep seers we came here to be. Knowing how our aura is designed to engage, how our energy flows, what is a passing phenomenon, what to leverage on, what to detach and witness, and above all, understanding what falsehoods, narratives, and mental paradigms we may have been gripping tightly for far too long.

We begin this by reclaiming and acquainting ourselves with our energy type.

We begin by letting our body lead us, slowing down, and attuning ourselves for intentional rest again. We apply conscious, practical, and sometimes uncomfortable changes in our day-to-day lives. We cultivate our energetic mastery; we wield stronger boundaries; we extensively unlearn, and we say difficult 'no's. We consciously choose not to downplay our Projector gifts, wisdom, and essence.

We begin by wholeheartedly deciding not to live a life like a Generator or a Manifesting Generator anymore, but rather an empowered Projector who thrives in our sacral-dominant world.

a song I am loving:

For as long as I can remember, my family has always had a tradition on our birthdays.

When it was one of our birthdays, there would always be a customary birthday celebration, a birthday cake (usually a $15 one), a bottle of non-alcoholic champagne, and a birthday song. It was a beautiful gesture that brought us together, and I will always be grateful to have been raised by a family from a humble background.

But I would never forget how my body would shrivel up each time my family sang the birthday song and cheered for me.

When I entered adulthood, this family tradition stopped. I moved away from home.

But I never stopped deflecting, or got better at receiving. If anything, unbeknownst to me, I hid this wounding under the pretence of someone who was “a strong, independent, and ambitious woman”.

I started “escaping” on every birthday, purchasing last-minute tickets to nearby and far-flung countries to avoid needing to celebrate myself that day. I would deliberately choose to spend the day in a country of strangers or somewhere immersed in nature.

Relationship-wise, I attracted men who began teaching me to heal this decade-old pattern too.

Wait, why is he complimenting me so much?
What should I say?
Not again, did he just compliment me?
Does he have an ulterior motive here? Is he interested in me?
Or am I just terrible at receiving compliments?

My previous partner taught me a lot about how to receive and soften, and a big part of this article is for him too.

He was the sweetest man, always thoughtful and kind. He knew how much I love sea turtles, the ocean, cinnamon rolls, carrot cakes, flowers, and candles. Every time he would stumble on one of them in a store, he would always get it for me. One of my favourite moments together was eating sinful carrot cakes, making fun of each other’s sweet tooth, teasing who would have the last bite, and searching for the best cinnamon rolls in town.

He didn’t get me a sea turtle or the ocean, of course, but he would always share videos and memes about them with me. At one point, I had more than five unused candles sitting around.

You get the gist.

With him, I learnt to receive.

I learnt to say thank you without berating or deflection, but with worthiness. I learnt to hold the initial comfort so gently until it became my constant.

Because of you, I learnt to buy myself these sinful but oh-so delicious cakes and cinnamon rolls and eat them by myself, unabashedly. And for that reason, each time I will always be grateful for our time together.

Because of you, I allowed myself to receive simple pleasures in life.

Growing up, I did not have healthy role models who taught me how to receive or soften.

My father devoted his entire life to a 9-5 job in the hospitality industry for over thirty years. He would leave for work at the crack of dawn and return home exhausted, the kind you know, who had zero social battery at the end of dinner. I would often catch him falling asleep in front of the television by 9 pm. One of my distinct, not-so-positive memories with him was around ten, when he reprimanded me in the car about a matter I no longer remember, using one of his favourite lines: “Do not compare with others.”

I was taught from a young age that settling and fitting in were better than standing out. The act of asking for more and making comparisons in any form was considered evil. And most of all, success = hard work, and success with sacrifices was noble and mandatory.

He was the epitome of this dreadful reality of the hustle culture. I love my dad so much, but he is the main reason why I will repeatedly refuse to subscribe to the hustle culture again and again.

My mom, on the other hand, has always been a creative and entrepreneurial woman. She was a hairstylist and had begun her entrepreneurial journey at a young age. She was uneducated and always carried that inadequacy within herself, although it was not evident. She embodied the hyper-independent and driven archetype that I greatly admired and respected. I was always amazed at how she refused a 9-to-5 job and opted for a different way of living.

On the exterior, she looked carefree, fashionable, and free-spirited, but behind it was a woman operating from her wounded femininity and inadequacy. It was only in the recent years of healing work that I recognized that behind it all, she was also a child who had zero role models and/or did not know how to work on herself. Behind this facade was a woman with low self-worth, who associated her worth with the chores she did and the amount of money she made.

This May, on Mother’s Day, my brother and I ordered a large bouquet for her. I was living in Mexico, halfway around the world from her, and it was one of the few little things I could do.

Unsurprisingly, before the thank you, my mom was quick to add, “This is not necessary, both of you did not have to buy this. It is a waste of money.” She was quick to deflect our small gesture.

It came to my awareness that this interaction alone governed my entire perception of receivership and the amount of ancestral wounding that has been passed through my lineage, and the healing that is required of me.

It was then that I told myself this: this ends here, Sylvia.

Do you see yourself here as well?

For so long, I believed my strength was in giving.
I could hold space, support, and show up for others with ease.

But when it came to receiving love, support, or even money, I noticed how quickly I would deflect, shrink, or dismiss it.

Feminine receptivity and receivership were not concepts taught to me when I was younger, either in my culture, school, or upbringing. Growing up, my nervous system imprint was rigged for self-protection rather than self-allowance. Healthy receivership wasn't something I mastered overnight or immediately recognized as a block in my deconditioning journey as a Projector.

Receivership wounds don’t just show up in business; they show up everywhere in life..

Have you ever wondered why certain things always felt so hard?

What if the reasons it always felt hard were because your energy says, “I want this,” but your nervous system says, “I can’t hold this.”

Healthy receivership is the ability to carry the energetic capacity and nervous system to hold more without interfering, self-sabotaging, feeling guilty, or collapsing.

Healthy receivership is integral regardless of your gender identification, whether you are a Projector, a Reflector, a Generator, an MG, or a Manifestor, and whether you are a business owner or an employee.

Healthy receivership is integral as long as you are a human being.

Below are some 5 examples of receivership wounds.

Many of which have plagued my entire life and have emerged as a block in my business and life.

— Difficulty receiving love and care and owning your desires

• You feel uncomfortable when others nurture you, support you, or express affection (romantically)

• You always play the strong one, the one who always gets it together, letting control dictate your life more than you would admit

• Difficulty in resting without feeling guilty

• In business, you try to do it all alone, hesitate investing in your growth and support (hiring a VA, a mentor, delegating, or investing in systems), and eventually arrive at burnout

• You hesitate to receive mentorship, coaching, or guidance unless you can guarantee results

• You feel uncomfortable receiving hugs and or acts of service

• You downplay and minimize your needs or say “I’m fine” when your energy and expression imply otherwise

• You talk down your desires or don’t talk about them at all instead of owning your desires unapologetically (Eg, it sounds materialistic and mean, but I really want that…”)

— Deflecting compliments and recognition

• Receiving compliments feels uncomfortable, you often brush them off or downplay yourself instead of wholeheartedly sitting with receiving it as it is (Eg, Oh, it's nothing. Thanks, I bought this from the store.)

• You feel awkward or uncomfortable when seen and celebrated by others

• In business, you may struggle to market yourself or show up to talk/market your services/offerings

• You hesitate to share your testimonials and successes, and avoid confronting your visibility wounds

• You unconsciously repel recognition to keep it safe and cool to avoid rejection

Learning about my Human Design changed my life…

A liberation.
The biggest affirmation.
A permission slip from the Universe to be just as I am.
A full body resounding YES.

That was what it felt like for me when I first discovered I was a Projector in Human Design.

I am sure you would have felt somewhat like that, too, when you first found out what your unique energetic type was. Before Human Design descended into my life, I was a struggling entrepreneur, an enthusiast for success and productivity, and a self-proclaimed, self-aware individual who was clueless about differentiation. I swore to uncover how to make it big as other entrepreneurs do.

I recall the 10-hour work shift that I dragged myself to. I have read numerous personal development books. I remember priming myself for the 5 am morning routine (and failing terribly at it). I remember willing myself to work 15 hours a day with my laptop during the lockdown, for I had to be “productive” and measure myself against societal standards that have worked in our homogenized world.

Along came the heavy disempowerment when it did not fall through, the bitterness and feeling completely out of place. I was extremely burned out too. And it was after almost a few months of truly hustling to do more, be more, and produce more that it finally registered with me that this wasn’t what my soul truly yearned for or signed up for.

There comes a moment when the whispers become louder — when staying in what feels inauthentic and familiar begins to feel heavier than the unknown.

This is where your power emerges — not in doing more, but in choosing differently.

I had outgrown that timeline and reality.

I was yearning for a work-life harmony, a harmonious and healthy integration of masculine and feminine energies in my life that was attainable, expansive, fulfilling, and spacious.

Learning that I was a Projector in Human Design has shown me that this reality was possible. What was more profound were the new choices I have consciously and wholeheartedly undertaken after this awareness. It was my allegiance and dedication to myself to live only a life of empowerment, embodiment, and experimentation by living my Projector design.

Now at 34, I have lived across eight countries, running a soul-led business that has brought me the freedom, spaciousness, and abundance I once only dared to imagine. My work is activating and impacting Projectors across the world. But more than the external shifts, I became someone I actually recognize and am proud of. (My story here)

Another tool I use so passionately in my work is Self-Concept, also known as Identity work. It is based on the notion that our identity is fluid and can change throughout our lives.

We are not here to stay in a single identity for our life— and you probably know that already. Think of the version of you that you have and had to outgrow to get you to the person you are today. THAT is evidence for your Self-Concept.

The trap is that most people eventually slide into stagnation, also known as autopilot mode, where considering any perceivable change feels destabilizing.

Our identity is the biggest fuel behind every energetic upgrade, shift, quantum leap, and manifestation. Your identity consists of a collection of your past experiences, your formed beliefs, your thoughts, your current dominant emotional states, and the aligned actions you have taken that have brought you to where you are today.

You are not here to be a slightly better version of who you’ve been.

You are here for the rehaul. The identity-level shifts. The moment when you stop studying your design and start living as the Projector you have always been and already are.

As a 1/3 Self-Projected Projector with the Channel of Awakening (10-20) and the Channel of Prodigal (13-33), my transmission is not theoretical; it is embodied, lived, and specific to you. My work draws from my own deep de-conditioning journey, advanced Human Design studies, and years of walking alongside Projectors globally as they step into their divinity.

At the heart of everything I teach: Self-concept, Projector practical integration, and embodiment.

I am now living a life that has allowed me to achieve the spaciousness, authenticity, recognition, and success that I strive for today.

There has been an energy in the air collectively.

Even the Schumann Resonances frequency peaked a couple of days ago.

Do you feel it too?

This Friday’s Virgo new moon marks the spectacular entrance of our upcoming eclipse season, a cosmic spotlight that typically ushers in fated events and experiences.

One that typically signifies accelerated transformations and turning points.

A portal.

A ripening.

A re-calibration.

A divine orchestration beyond our logical mind’s comprehension.

And most of all, your ability to rewrite a new story.

For those who have been following me will know that eclipses have always been something I work with deeply on a personal level. After all, my second spiritual awakening did occur during the eclipse season back in 2018. The Universe never ceases to amaze me.

What is an eclipse season?

Every six months, your chart is affected by Solar and Lunar eclipses.

We understand the geometry of an eclipse as the place where the Sun, Moon and earth come together. We marvel at their visual appearance as they bring us moments of heavenly wonder and beauty. This beauty is a play of light and dark between the two great heavenly lights, the Sun and the Moon. At a total solar eclipse, the Moon obliterates the Sun, visually becoming a black disc rayed by solar flares. At a lunar eclipse the bright full Moon moves through the shadow of the earth, losing its light and sometimes becoming blood coloured.

In the past, since eclipses challenged the order of light and dark, people thought that they were a time of worry or stress, a calamity waiting to happen. This, however, was not always the case. At the dawn of astrology each eclipse was viewed differently, and some were thought to bring difficulties to the kingdom, while others brought blessings. It was, however, recognised that eclipses came in great cycles which ran for well over a thousand years and these cycles still have meaning for us today.

Each eclipse belongs to a unique cycle and each cycle varies in its meaning. We only meet each eclipse cycle once every 18.5 years. Every six months when an eclipse occurs it engages with your horoscope through being located in different houses and aspects, and it also adds its unique cycle’s meaning into your life. Some eclipse cycles continue to bring blessings and insights, while others uncover cracks and faults that may have been papered over for years.

All, however, will reveal to you what lies in the shadows of your life or in your thinking. All of them show the dark within the light through a myriad of different lenses.

The Virgo New Moon on Friday, August 23, is the first of two Virgo New Moons.

The second Virgo New Moon arrives as a New Moon Solar Eclipse on September 22nd. Both of these Virgo Moons will work hand in hand.

What is unique about this upcoming new moon is that it falls at zero 0° degrees of Virgo, one of the most potent degrees in Astrology.

This is often referred to as a threshold moment.

The liminal space,

sometimes called “resting in the void”.

I like to describe it as the void before where magic happens.

The pause before the bloom.

It is when the invisible roots are being woven beneath the soil, where creation is already gestating, and where we are in divine preparation. And, both trust and certainty are required of you more than ever before.

It is when the old has dissolved, but the new has not yet taken shape or anchored in.

For us Projectors, this energy may feel oddly familiar, almost like a prolonged active waiting that we have been so accustomed.

Visceral. But quite unlike an active waiting entirely too.

For many of us right now, we may be experiencing this liminal space of the in-between. And it can feel extremely raw, tender, and unsettling. With this new moon falling in Virgo, the focus is on calling in discernment, devotion, precision, and daily alignment.

Some of the themes of the Virgo New Moon at 0° may include:

• Liminal space

  Where the old structures dissolve, but the new rhythm or path has not fully materialized or emerged yet.

• Patience + Certainty

  This is a time when things are orbiting in your favor, but you cannot see it yet. Our mind is always searching for tangible evidence to materialize certainty, but our soul always knows. This is not the time to let your mind overrun you and mistake chasing validation, clarity, and answers for certainty. This is the time to sit with the unknown, with certainty.

• Seed planting

  Virgo energy is about calling in small, sacred steps that cultivate inner confidence, self-trust, gratitude, and abundance rather than prematurely rushing or forcing an outcome/result/clarity.

• Devotion to daily rituals

  Virgo energy is all about bringing structure and order through the little intentional rituals and routines. This may look like re-introducing a spiritual practice in the morning/evening, decluttering your physical space, and breaking bigger goals into smaller incremental chunks and micro steps towards what you have been calling in and letting the Universe meet you in the middle.

Some examples of how this liminal space may present in your reality:

• Shifting into a new identity, but feeling uncertain how that may take shape and/or stepping into the new one yet

• Collapsing the old timeline of releasing and outgrowing something that no longer serves you, but feeling uncertain how that may take shape

• Ending a relationship, but not yet meeting the new partner

• Feeling ready to date again, but not yet intentional about calling a committed partner in

• Healing from a loss, but not yet knowing who you are without that role, person, or chapter

• Focusing on your inner work, but not yet seeing the “results” in your external reality

• Calling in new clients or income, but not receiving them yet

• Calling in an opportunity, but not yet seeing that mirroring in the external reality

• Calling in clarity but not yet receiving it

• Closing out an old offer, but not yet ready to launch the new one

• Writing, creating, and planting seeds, but not yet seeing the audience growth, conversion or recognition

• Intentionally unsubscribing from the hustle culture, but currently cultivating this discomfort in your nervous system

• Calling in abundance and spaciousness, but not yet feeling the safety in your nervous system

• Feeling called for a change/relocation/different reality, but not yet figuring out how that may take shape

If you are feeling any of the above, you are not alone.

I know for me cosmically, the liminal space has been very apparent in my life.

If you are presently in this liminal space too, you are in divine preparation.

And this unfolding will surpass all your expectations. It will reveal exactly what your soul has agreed to in this lifetime.

Your role is to retain a regulated nervous system of safety, trust, and certainty of receiving.

This is an opportune time to remain soft, expanded, and open with what is, for what will be, and lock into this frequency of trust so gently before your manifestations match your reality.

How to use this energy to support you?

• Be intentional with yourself, speak to yourself with the language of readiness, certainty, and I am.
  “I am already deeply supported. Clients are already finding me. Wealth already flows through me. I am certain that this situation is good for me and I am infinitely supported.”

• Indulge in micro-pleasure and cultivate gratitude, a feeling of abundance, and openness.
  The scent of the flowers, a good book, a random chat with a stranger, your favourite song on the radio etc.

• Tend to your nervous system daily. Especially important in times of transformation, such as eclipse seasons.
  Gentle movement, daily prayer, deep breathwork, social media detox, cultivating silence and stillness, and grounding in nature. I personally sink deeper into my spiritual practice in my mornings, energetic mastery, and practice intentionally slowing down through the rest of my day.
  

• Choosing softness over strategy.

  Especially in business, this is the time to review what no longer aligns with you in business to make space for the new. This is the time to lean into conversations that light you up, invest in a mentorship, and/or consume content that nourishes you without depleting you.

• Journal the following:

  Where am I ready to release perfectionism in my business or self-expression?

  Which areas in life are you forcing an outcome or chasing clarity?

  How can I rest more deeply into this liminal space and soften into receivership and trust today?

  What daily practice (writing, resting, sharing, nourishing) will anchor me into this next version of myself?

  How can I trust this pause as fertile ground, not denial?

When I decided to become a soul-led entrepreneur in 2019, it became very clear to me early on that soul-led entrepreneurship was a journey not for the faint of heart or the masses.

If anything, one will most definitely be catapulted on a journey that will force you to grow, question, and confront yourself more than you would ever imagine.

It is not a business you operate from wounding (trying to prove something, replicate or fit in) but a business you operate from healing and remembering.

A soul-led business requires a different foundation— one rooted in identity healing, energetic alignment, and deep inner safety.

Below is what a soul-led business means to me:

A soul-led business is one where you become a conduit for your soul; where you become a co-creator, fulfilling a higher purpose tied to the service of the collective in a way that only you can.

It is one that is led by capacity and foundation first before strategy, and it thrives on magnetism through your frequency, not forceful and performative marketing strategies.

It invites the right clients and customers in through resonance and clarity.

It scales only because scaling aligns with one’s values, capacity, and joy.

It is one where strategy and creativity operate as a living tool, moving together with purpose and resonance, where visibility is approached as an opportunity to be seen authentically.

A soul-led business is a living alchemy that expands alongside you.

So one may ask, how will Human Design support me in aligning my business with my divinity?

Your Human Design is your energetic blueprint.

Human Design is a technology that weaves several ancient wisdoms like Western Astrology, the Bahrain Chakras System, the Chinese I-Ching, and the Jewish Kaballah. All of it is beautifully woven into this technology and backed by quantum physics and astronomy. It is also widely known as the science of the aura.

Your Human Design is derived using two sets of personal data, which contribute to your unique bodygraph. The first is the exact placement of the time and space relative to the solar system and the star field around the precise moment of your birth and the second placement is three months prior.

The beauty of Human Design is that it is not a belief system nor is it rooted in any personality tests —it is a logical, mechanical system that encourages you to explore and experiment with its mechanics and find out if/how it works for you. The unification of its esoteric components is what creates its uniqueness, offering practical and digestible wisdom that we can incorporate and experiment with in our lives.

I like to view our individual Human Design as our unique energetic blueprint — the energetic essence of who we came here to be. When we align our soul-led businesses with our Human Design, we make room for our business and ourselves to co-create and fulfill a higher purpose of service to the collective in a way only we can, in a way only our soul has always known to build.

About six years ago, I knew of a woman who went through what was spiritually termed “The Dark Night of the Soul.”

It was not her first, but her second spiritual awakening.

During that time, she self-diagnosed herself with depression and lost a lot of weight over a span of a few months. She was determined to stop a marriage of a man she thought she loved, who chose to marry someone else within 6 months of their breakup (They ended up getting married afterwards anyway).

In her betrayal, loneliness, grief, and confusion, she gave all her power away.

She sought out “experts” and readers, tried her hand on a gazillion modalities, and spent thousands of dollars for a virtual stranger to validate her emotions, predict her future, and hold space for her.

It took a while for her to finally recognize the victimhood and disempowerment in her narrative and disconnect from her body. She then decided to start her self-healing journey.

A couple of months later, things shifted.

Something switched in her.

She decided she was done staying small, downplaying her worth, and fitting in.

She decided she was done hiding behind her spiritual closet.

She decided she was done standing by the sidelines.

She decided she was done feeling invisible.

She decided to share about herself on a public blog for the first time.

She had no idea how it would unfold, but she began writing.

Seven years down the road, here I am, still with Arawme. My soul-led business took off in a direction beyond my imagination.

Thriving.

Differentiation- first.

Capacity before strategy. Creativity alongside devotion.

Moving powerfully and intentionally, not quickly.

Today, I work from beautiful cafes with mountain, valley, and ocean views.

Sometimes, working while lounging on a couch (Projector style). I work with aligned clients globally across different time zones, who deeply desire and recognize the work I do. I support Projectors in their personal and professional lives. I work a maximum of five hours a day, with rest and play no longer the back burner of my life. I have a powerful business setup + ecosystem that requires little of me. Energy mastery and discernment are second nature for me. There is a quiet spaciousness in my life. My nervous system has been the calmest and most regulated it has ever been. I write a lot now. My life is an ongoing wholehearted devotion to my Projectorhood.

And no, it did not come by itself. It came after years of staying small, choosing survival and doubt, depletion over empowerment.

I just chose to show up one day, with the audacity to alter my life completely.

As a Projector mentor and business guide, my goal is to impart this lifelong mastery to you and walk alongside you if you are ready to do the same.

The stuckness that you have been feeling; the recurring patterns; the exhaustion in your body… it is not a coincidence, it is a call for help; it is a call for more self-Understanding, awareness, healing, and authenticity.

For a different reality, it requires the diligent collapse of the old you that you have already outgrown.

When Human Design descended in my life, I was already an entrepreneur.

I was listening to the whisper of my soul, or rather, my G center. Read here for a reflection of my 6th year in business.

But was I feeling aligned? No. Not entirely.

Was I feeling burned out? Yes, I was balancing it with a day job that was physically and laboriously intensive on my body (ex-scuba diving instructor). I was measuring my self-worth with my level of productivity. I was consistently and unconsciously comparing myself with other entrepreneurs.

Was I feeling bitter? Heck yes.

Was I feeling successful?
No, I had no idea what I was striving for in terms of success.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how much has shifted in my business since the beginning —especially as a Projector learning to lead with frequency, softness, devotion, service, trust, and timing.

These past years have been a deep rewiring: nervous system and subconscious healing, money work, feminine energetics, receivership work… and letting my Human Design truly shape how I approach my business, in a way only I can.

It is a glimpse of how I've rewired my business—

from exhaustion and urgency to trust,

from proving and hustling to magnetizing, from burnout to sacred timing,

from chasing clients to aligned clients who carry both resonance and readiness to work with me.

As a business owner, I used to think I had to:

– show up everywhere

– show up consistently

– hustle to get seen

– walk the path of every other successful entrepreneur

I equated my worth with my productivity, the likes, the reposts and the hours I exchanged.

As a business owner, I used to hold a belief that:

– you have to have as many offerings as possible

– the hustle culture was the only way to succeed in business and in life

– strategy has to precede everything in

– a soft business approach does not exist

– there is no room for play in business

– this exhaustion and inauthenticity meant something was wrong with me

I doubted myself more than I believed in myself. But somewhere inside, I knew deeply that: my soul did not sign up for this.

Learning that I was a Projector in Human Design changed my life. I was shown the possibility of a different reality.

I chose differently.

Capacity before strategy.

Creativity alongside devotion.

Moving powerfully and intentionally, not quickly.

Healing. Frequency. Alignment. Service. Spaciousness. Softness. My personal Projector Success.

Human Design has equipped me with a lifelong tool to navigate life and business even when the external world feels noisy, destabilizing, and unclear.

It has taught me to return to the quiet of my aura, the confidence and safety of waiting, and the unshakeable trust in my soul over my mind, every single time.
