I’ve Got a Genius in My Pocket... Why am I Not Rich?!

AI is amazing at so many things;

it executes the tactical.
generates the creative.
remembers the mundane.

But it can’t close your identity gaps. It can’t soothe your emotional triggers. It can’t reveal the baggage running the show underneath.

Here’s how I’m solving this:

Hello there. I’m Arvell Craig.

I’m in the business of AI.

I’ve been teaching, coaching, and consulting on AI since April 2023.

But regardless of how powerful AI is, I’m constantly amazed and reminded of the things it doesn’t do.

I even ask myself (jokingly), if AI has all the intelligence written in history... and they say knowledge is power...

“Where the heck is our power?”

“Why am I not rich yet?” LOL.

Last Sunday I sat with Fable 5 on my kitchen table and just vented…

I ran the Theory of Constraints on my own business. Eli Goldratt’s old idea: a system only moves as fast as its bottleneck. Upgrade anything that isn’t the bottleneck and you get nothing.

Turns out I’ve been upgrading the wrong thing.

On Monday, I sat down with my coach and he pointed out that one of my greatest strengths has been allowing me to hide from emotional discomfort. As long as I’m focusing on my strengths, I get to avoid the risk of rejection.

For me, that strength is learning.

Yours might be planning?

Perfecting the website?

Refining the offer one more time?

Waiting until the systems are ready?

Every one of them feels like progress. And every one of them keeps you from the moment where you could actually be told no.

Hmm...

I’ve been using AI for three years. ChatGPT and Claude have access to my notes, my goals and calendar.

Neither one pointed this out.

Not because they aren’t smart enough. Because they can’t solve our inner constraints.

And this gap isn’t just mine. Clients who own every tool and still have no traction. I speak in front of crowds who can name every model and still can’t bring themselves to make the offer.

We’re looking to AI to solve human problems.

We have to learn to identify our core constraint, not just assume AI is the answer to everything. Fix the constraint, then add AI where it works best.

But that raises the harder question. What actually counts as a constraint?

Sometimes it’s operational, and AI eats it for breakfast. Sometimes it’s interior. And no model on earth is going to touch that one, because it doesn’t have access to the room where that thing lives.

So if you’re after actual transformation and not just faster output, you need three things working together.

Right people. Right strategy. Right tech.

Most of us have been shopping in one aisle.

I’m building a framework for breakthrough with AI right now, and this gap keeps forcing its way into the middle of it.

I don’t have it wrapped in a bow yet, and I’m not sure I want to rush it.

But I’d rather tell you what I’m learning while it’s still uncomfortable than wait until it’s a clean case study.

I rebuilt my website with AI in about 1-2 hours….

**It’s just the first draft but I’m fairly proud of it.

BACKSTORY: For the month of June, I’m documenting my experience vibe coding — using AI tools to design and build a brand new website from scratch. No prior design experience required. Just curiosity, the right prompts, and a willingness to experiment.

The Starting Point

My old website, ArvellCraig.com, had been around for a while. It wasn’t broken, but it was dated. More importantly, I wanted to understand what was actually possible with today’s AI tools before recommending anything to clients.

The first question I had to answer: do I need a new platform? Tools like Lovable, Replit, and others have been getting a lot of buzz. Or could I just work with what I already had — WordPress?

After week one, I’ve got good news on that front.

What I Built

The new site is live. It includes a speaking page, an about page with my official bio and headshots, and a connection to my Substack — where I’ve been publishing blog content for 15 years. That content library alone could be a serious SEO asset once I clean up the tags and dig into GEO optimization.

Is it perfect? No. But as a first draft built almost entirely with AI, I’m genuinely happy with where it landed.
