From a young age, there was an expectation that I would become the next Ronaldo, make 100 mill by 18 and turn football into my entire future.

That was the world I understood.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve found myself moving through completely different career paths, experiences and environments. Along the way, I’ve developed a genuine desire to help other people navigate life with more clarity than I had when I was younger.

But I’ve often questioned whether I’m “big enough” to do that.

I’d think about hosting a workshop in America, Nigeria or somewhere on a much larger scale and immediately wonder:

“Would people even come?”

And I’ve realised that way of thinking is only going to limit me.

Because helping people has never been about status, followers, wealth or the size of your platform.

It’s about the value of what you have to offer.

If you’ve experienced something, learned from it, overcome it or developed a perspective that could genuinely benefit someone else, why should your age or profile determine whether you’re ALLOWED to share it?

For a long time, I convinced myself that I needed to wait.

Wait until I was older.

Wait until I was richer.

Wait until I was wiser.

Wait until I had achieved some imaginary level of success where I could confidently say, “Now I’m qualified to help people.”😂

But the reality is, I’m already doing it obliviously.

Through my work.

Through styling.

Through workshops.

Through the things I post.

Through the discipline, resilience and ambition I try to demonstrate every day.

Even I used to go into schools when I was 19 an teach kids about mental health , motivation skills , life choices , drugs etc

It’s like i forget sometimes.

I receive a lot of DMs from people telling me that something I’ve said, done or shared has inspired them. For a long time, I didn’t fully take those messages in.

Because if people are already finding value in my journey, who am I to decide that I’m not ready to give more? I used to worry that trying to teach or host workshops at 22 yrs old could come across as egotistical.

I’d question myself:

“Who do you think you are?”

And the truth is, I don’t know everything.

I’m still learning.

I still make mistakes.

I still have an enormous amount of growing to do.

But I know enough to begin.

I know enough to share the opportunities I’ve come across. I know enough to speak about the disciplines that have helped shape me. I know enough to share the lessons I’ve learned through experience.

And if sharing those things can help someone else avoid certain mistakes, recognise an opportunity earlier or simply believe in themselves a little more, then surely that is worth doing?

I think one of the biggest things that holds me back is the way my mind works.

My ADHD means I naturally analyse situations from countless different perspectives. I process the potential outcomes, the advantages, the risks, how people might interpret something, how they might feel, the environment around me — everything literally I sly hate it but love it at the same time.

That awareness can be a strength, but it can also become a limitation.

So when I think about doing something bigger, like taking workshops to different countries or creating spaces where I can genuinely help people, my mind immediately tells me:

“Big man, wait your turn. You’re not there yet.”

But why?

Why should there be a timeline on helping someone?

Why should I have to reach some arbitrary level of success before I’m allowed to share what I’ve learned?

We all know something that someone else doesn’t.

We’ve all experienced something that someone else is currently going through.

We’ve all made mistakes that someone else could potentially learn from.

Imagine if people genuinely shared that knowledge with those willing to listen and learn , coachable people. I genuinely believe we’d all be much nicer people , haha.

Maybe helping people isn’t about waiting until you’ve reached the destination. Maybe it’s about turning around while you’re still on the journey and helping the person behind you find their way.

I have a lot left to learn. But I’ve also learned a lot already.

But It’s time to expand the horizon.

And it’s time to remember what the word actually means:

HELP.

| styling workshops dates |

AUGUST - LONDON

SEPTEMBER - NEW YORK

OCTOBER - GERMANY

NOVEMBER - PARIS

DECEMBER - LAGOS

ash.
