This is our second eclipse this eclipse season and the first was quite a doozy. This eclipse, however, is the last one we have in Pisces until March 2035. It’s exact at 4º Pisces and is tightly square Uranus. Depending on where you’re located it’s exact on either 8/27 (at 9:18pm PDT) or 8/28 (at 12:18am EDT).

Nodes in Pisces and Virgo

The North and South Nodes moved out of Pisces and Virgo last month, which I talked about in this post, but it’s worth highlighting again as that doesn’t mean we won’t still have eclipses in those two signs. This eclipse, obviously, falls in Pisces but is close enough to the North Node in Aquarius to be considered an eclipse. The same thing will happen in February 2027 when the full moon in Virgo sits at the beginning of Virgo but close enough to the South Node to be an eclipse. This means that though the doors are closing on the nodes transits of these two signs we still have eclipses that will manifest in these houses for us. The dust hasn’t quite settled, there’s still more to learn even if the storyline is familiar. Consider what the North Nodes transit of your Pisces house has looked like: what has changed since January 2025 in that area of your life? It’s likely a lot has transpired but it isn’t super obvious until you look back. What themes are coming to a close with this eclipse in Pisces? How might that story manifest for one last time?

Square to Uranus

Eclipses are already pretty chaotic. They bring sudden shifts and transformations that jolt us out of our stuck positions and into something new. Uranus has a really similar effect, like a shock to the system or like how lightning jolts and fills the night sky. It’s sudden, bright, and pretty hard to ignore. This is the type of energy that can’t be controlled and my biggest piece of advice here would be to let it come how it comes. Remember what’s within your locus of control and don’t spend too much time or energy on anything that’s outside of that. Attempting to stifle this energy or dodge it will only bring it on more intensely. Sometimes it’s best to face the music rather than sweeping it under the rug and creating a bigger mess. It’ll also be important to ground this week. Lots of deep breaths, quiet time, feet directly on grass, etc. to keep you in your body. Our minds might be on overload this week and it’ll be a lot of energy swirling around in there all at once. Adding more noise to that (like social media, the news, outside opinions) might increase this overwhelm. Take it slow, be intentional, and don’t overcommit yourself.

Should I manifest during an eclipse?

Short answer - no. Long answer - eclipses are a major time of endings. I understand that this is also a time where we’re welcoming in new energy, but the old energy needs to leave first. To be honest, I’m weary of anyone that suggests manifesting under an eclipse. The Sun/Moon are literally eclipsed. Their light has been dimmed, if not totally erased. This is a time to come to peace with what is leaving, process these changes, and take care of yourself. This isn’t a time where we’re planting new seeds, initiating new projects, or putting ourselves out there in big ways. Like I mentioned above - the best way to engage with this energy is to prepare your system, find routines that soothe rather than inflame, process what is changing around you, and ride the wave of changes as much as possible. Clinging to the norm will only make things worse and more difficult down the road. Let go and trust in divine timing - everything is working out the way that it’s meant to.

Aries

The nodes just finished transiting your sixth and twelfth houses and that came with a need to focus on both your mental and physical health. It was a time to focus on routines that keep both your mind and body healthy, let go of any unhealthy habits, and prioritize your needs before placating others. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your twelfth house and is a bookend to the greater transit of the North Node in your twelfth house. This house has to do with your mental health, your spiritual relationship, and your inner struggles. This eclipse, and the overall transit of the North Node to your twelfth house, can manifest as an invitation to step back and consider what truly taking care of your mind and body looks like. This might come with the need to pull back, spend more time alone, and create more time for processing. There may be more mental energy with this eclipse and the need to create space to deal with this excess mental energy. It will be important for you to consider your overall mental health and how you’re taking care of your brain. This means creating non-judgmental spaces for yourself to work through what comes up rather than pushing it away or avoiding it.

Taurus

The North and South Nodes just finished their transit of your eleventh and fifth houses. This transit brought a focus to your creative passions, friendships, and groups within your community that you are involved in. It was an opportunity to strengthen your connection with your creativity and find ways to creatively express yourself without pressure to succeed or achieve. It was an opportunity to highlight relationships and areas of your life where you feel you can be authentic, let your guard down, and feel seen. Explore these more casual, feel-good parts of your life and remember that indulging and enjoying yourself is an important part of life, just as long as you’re not overdoing it. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your eleventh house and is a bookend to the greater transit of the North Node to this house. This eclipse is inviting you to focus on your friendships and your connection to your community around you. Take stock of your involvement in organizations and groups and identify where you feel your best self. Identify friendships that are healthy and you feel valued for who you are. Acknowledge any cracks in friendships or groups that are unhealthy for you or provoke more unhealthy habits. Friendships may end and you may decide to invest your time elsewhere, but new friendships will take root and feel healthier in nature. This transit is all about getting clear on where your energy is best invested and knowing what you want in these friendships/groups moving forward.

Gemini

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your tenth and fourth houses. This transit put a focus on both your public life and your private sphere. There was likely a tension or tug of war between these two things. This might have felt like you’re consistently being pulled outward to focus on things like your career or professional image while also needing to focus internally on your more private and intimate parts of your life. It’s a delicate balance to bring these two into harmony, and it may require some work, but initiating routines that help you create a work-life balance will be life-changing here. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your tenth house and is a bookend to the greater transit of the North Node to this house. This is an opportunity for you to focus on your career, your long term career goals, and your passion projects. With the North Node’s transit of your tenth house you may have noticed more opportunities and doors opening within your career. That said, this may be a little shocking to the system initially and with the South Node in your fourth house you may see that this success in your career is hindering other areas of your life like your home and family. How can you achieve your five year plan without burning your candle at both ends? This specific eclipse may open doors to take more on at work or bring changes that feel good in the moment. That said, it will be important to ensure that you fully understand any new commitments before you make them and you clearly communicate your expectations as well.

Cancer

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your ninth and third houses. This transit was all about following your curiosities and inspirations without exhausting yourself. It was an opportunity to make time for your hobbies and interests. These don’t have to be activities that are connected to your goals, in fact, it’s better if they’re activities that you simply find fun and aren’t associated with work. You might have found that you were drawn in different directions, inspired to pick up new hobbies or learn something new. Follow these inspirations and let yourself enjoy learning something new without any pressure to be good or the best at it. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your ninth house and is a bookend to the greater transit of the North Node to this house. This house is associated with higher thought, higher education, foreign culture/travel, and religion. These are all avenues that give us the opportunity to broaden our horizons and learn something new about how the world works outside of our specific field of focus. Expanding on our knowledge and experiences helps us identify how we fit into the world and what strengths we bring to the table. And, in addition, it gives us perspective on how others might operate, different from our own way of operating, and see the benefit of doing things differently than we always have. This eclipse is giving you the opportunity to expand your horizons, learn something new (or unlearn something problematic) and through this you’ll learn new things about yourself.

Leo

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your eighth and second houses. This transit pulled you inward and acted as an opportunity for you to focus more on your mental and emotional health. It might have been more emotionally exhausting than you might’ve been interested in and making time to process these heavy emotions and implement routines that help you take care of yourself were important. This transit could have brought up a wide array of different emotions or anxieties depending on what you’ve gone through throughout your life, but it’s likely that at some point money and resources became an area of focus. This doesn’t necessarily mean there was a lack of money; it could just be that your anxieties took over and there was a fear of a lack of money/resources, but either way this was an opportunity for you to focus on your anxieties around lack or fears of your needs not being met, financially or otherwise. This transit requires emotional honesty and a willingness to acknowledge the emotional baggage you carry, and it pushes you to empower yourself to find healthy ways of taking care of yourself in times of struggle. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your eighth house and is a bookend to the greater transit of the North Node to this house. This is a more intense house compared to the others but it highlights the inner transformation that has taken place for you over the last year. This is the house associated with your fears and anxieties, especially those that pertain to money and a fear of a lack of resources. This eclipse may provoke anxieties that you thought you had worked through or haven’t felt in awhile. These thoughts and feelings are resurfacing for a reason and there is an opportunity here to revisit them. Create a non-judgemental space for yourself and approach them with curiosity - how might exploring these buried emotions help you heal?

Virgo

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your seventh and first houses. This transit brought a major overhaul of the ways in which you self-sabotage and keep yourself small. You were asked to clearly identify who you are, the values you live by, and the ways in which you take care of yourself. This came with some hard truths, and these truths can be exhausting in nature. This has meant taking note of the people and areas of your life that felt particularly exhausting this year. This exhaustion opened your eyes to the people and commitments that were/are a drain on you, and it may be time for the door to close on some of these commitments. This isn’t easy, and a lot of inner work is required to make these shifts happen, particularly regarding your own self-worth and respect. That said, with these doors closing, you make room for new relationships and commitments to enter your world – ones where you find that your expectations, needs, and boundaries are met without hesitation. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your seventh house. The North Node transiting your seventh house pushed you to consider relationships where you feel seen, heard, and at your healthiest. It’s important to remember that relationships are a two way street - are there unhealthy patterns that you bring to the relationship that you also need to consider? There may be hard truths to consider about the future of this commitment and you may feel like it’s time to make a decision to end things. That said, it’s also worth noting any relationships or people that enter your world during this time as they may be budding relationships that blossom down the road. Overall, it will be important for you to consider where you feel most loved, respected, and valued and invest in those relationships. This ultimately comes down to loving yourself and role modeling for others how you want to be treated.

Libra

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your sixth and twelfth houses. This came with a need to focus on both your mental and physical health and routines that help you maintain this health. You had to focus on routines that keep both your mind and body healthy, let go of any unhealthy habits, and prioritize your needs before placating others. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your sixth house. This is the house that has to do with your routines pertaining to your health. Right now you’re being asked to consider what habits you keep and how they help (or hurt) your ability to maintain your health. These can be things like diet or exercise or it could be more nuanced based on your current circumstances. This is a time to consider anything that is contributing to any illness, ailments, or underlying stress and create a plan to reduce those influences. These may be difficult habits to break but the longevity of your health and wellness may depend on it. Ps - this can also include your mental health and how you’re taking care of yourself mentally/emotionally as those habits also influence your physical body.

Scorpio

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your fifth and eleventh houses. This transit brought a focus on your creative passions, friendships, and groups within your community that you are involved in. This transit was an opportunity to strengthen your connection with your creativity and find ways to creatively express yourself without pressure to succeed or achieve. It’s an opportunity to highlight relationships and areas of your life where you feel you can be authentic, let your guard down, and feel seen. Explore these more casual, feel-good parts of your life and remember that indulging and enjoying yourself is an important part of life, just as long as you’re not overdoing it. Find balance between your responsibilities in your world and your time for play. Access your inner child and let them lead for a day every now and then. Follow your heart and let your mind have the day off. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your fifth house. This is the house of creativity, creative expression, joy, and children. This eclipse is inviting you one last time to consider your relationship to play. This is the time to pay attention to what sparks joy and inspiration within your world right now and follow that. Create for the sake of creating, with no real agenda. This is an opportunity for you to balance your responsibilities with the hobbies, friends, activities, etc. that bring you joy. Invite in a new relationship with play and give yourself space to play without the everyday pressures of life.

Sagittarius

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your fourth and tenth houses. This transit put a focus on both your public life and your private sphere. There was a tension or tug of war between these two things. This might have felt like you’re consistently being pulled outward to focus on things like your career or professional image while also needing to focus internally on your more private and intimate parts of your life. The North Node’s transit of this house brought more expansive opportunities to this area of life, whereas the South Node in the tenth brought less focus and expansion to your career. This might have meant focusing more on your home, possibly buying a home or remodeling, moving to a new/better location, expanding your family, or a much needed remodel. This eclipse may play a bigger role in this development. There may be seeds planted this week that push you to consider your current living situation and if it meets the vision of what you want. In addition, your relationship to the family that raised you is also at the forefront of this transit. You may be processing your relationship with family or reinvesting in members you’ve lost contact with.

Capricorn

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your third and ninth houses. This transit is all about following your curiosities and inspirations without exhausting yourself. This was an opportunity to make time for your hobbies and interests. These don’t have to be activities that are connected to your goals, in fact, it’s better if they’re activities that you simply find fun and aren’t associated with work. You may have found that you were drawn in different directions, inspired to pick up new hobbies or learn something new. I hope you followed these inspirations and let yourself enjoy learning something new without any pressure to be good or the best at it. These could be activities that flex your creative muscle or something more intellectual like reading, writing, or taking a class. You may also be drawn to places, as well, for more experiential learning through adventuring somewhere new. This Full Moon eclipse is taking place in your third house. The third house is home to quite a few things - learning, communication, siblings, and your neighbors. This eclipse will likely invite you to learn something new, or unlearn something that isn’t helpful to you or is keeping you stuck. This learning (or un-learning) will provoke changes that lead to new ideas and ways of seeing things. This growth may mean communicating new boundaries or expectations of others, things you haven’t communicated prior but ultimately need to now. Journaling, writing, and talking about your feelings will all be helpful during this transit. This will help you move energy and release it from your body.

Aquarius

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your second and eighth houses. This transit pulls you inward and acts as an opportunity for you to focus more on your mental and emotional health. This might have been more emotionally exhausting than you were interested in, and I hope that you made time to process these heavy emotions and implement routines that help you take care of yourself. This transit might have brought up a wide array of different emotions or anxieties depending on what you’ve gone through throughout your life, but it’s likely that at some point money becomes an area of focus. If you’re entering this transit with an avoidance of your own financial affairs, now is the time to be proactive and open up that door before it’s opened for you. Acknowledge any unhealthy spending habits or impulsive purchases and cultivate a healthy relationship with your money now before it comes back to bite you in the ass.

Pisces

The North and South Nodes just finished transiting your first and seventh houses. This transit was a major overhaul of the ways in which you self-sabotage and keep yourself small. You were asked to clearly identify who you are, the values you live by, and the ways in which you take care of yourself. This comes with some hard truths, and these truths can be exhausting in nature. Take note of the people and areas of your life that feel particularly exhausting this year. This eclipse takes place in your first house which means that the North Node is currently asking you to step into more confidence and expand your horizons. This brings up the need to be honest with yourself about where your passions and energy lie. If you’re investing your energy into people/things that deplete you, what needs to change in order for you to invest in other areas? Be patient with yourself as you’re navigating these conversations. These are tough things to consider and implementing the changes may be even more difficult for you. And, it’s possible that some of these shifts are made for you by others choosing to end relationships or you being asked to leave in some capacity. Just know that whatever is ending right now was never meant for you and this will open up more room in your life for what is meant for you.

We have our first eclipse in Leo on August 12th, 2026. The eclipse is exact at 20º Leo 01’ at 1:36pm EDT. This is our first eclipse in Leo since January 21, 2019. The North Node transited Leo last from May 2017 until November 2018 and the South Node last transited Leo from December 2007 to July 2009. Think back on these time periods as you may see similar story lines come up over this transit of the SN in Leo. This eclipse on 8/12 is only one of two eclipses in Leo during the South Node’s time in Leo. Because the full moon on January 22, 2027 isn’t within 16º of the South Node it isn’t considered an eclipse. That said, the south node will still be transiting our Leo house over the next year and a half and that will still be significant, we just won’t have as many of the intense pockets of eclipses taking place in our Leo house as we normally would.

What is an Eclipse?

Eclipses, put simply, take place when a new or full moon occurs within 16º of the lunar nodes. The lunar nodes are not planets but rather points in the sky that are represented by the crossing of the sun’s path and the moon’s path. The nodes are always opposite one another and move backwards through the zodiac. There are many interpretations of the nodes, and these interpretations vary based on the type of astrology one studies, but to keep things simple: the south node tends to suggest areas of your life that are comforting, possibly a little too comforting and can contribute to a sense of ‘baggage’ that keeps us stuck, and the north node is a point that challenges you to grow out of those comfort zones within this lifetime.

Now that we’ve laid that groundwork, let’s talk a little about what eclipses can represent for us. The ancients believed that eclipses were ‘bad’ or ‘malefic’ in nature due to one of the luminaries (the Sun and Moon) being eclipsed. They associated these times with times of death, war, etc., and this is where we get the interpretation that eclipses are bad. But, as things have changed throughout history, some of that interpretation still applies and some of it doesn’t. It’s true that these periods tend to initiate major changes and transformations within our lives, but in my experience it isn’t always as obvious as some make it out to seem. There may have been very tangible shifts under eclipses like a job promotion, a marriage, a car accident, injury, etc. but there are also likely eclipses that don’t elicit a major change that same day, so why is this? I have noticed in my time observing these time periods that there are just some eclipses where the change happens in a domino effect kind of way. It isn’t obvious the day of, but when I look back months later, I remember that I ended up meeting someone that day who introduced me to someone else, which gave me a new opportunity to do xyz… Something changed that day or around that time that laid the groundwork for a shift in my life.

When we enter eclipse season, it’s important to look at the pair of houses the eclipses will take place in. Like I said earlier, the nodes are always opposite one another, which means they are transiting opposing houses in your chart. This might be the first and seventh houses or the fourth and tenth. This opposition already gives you vital information about the areas of your lives that are shifting over the 18-month period that the nodes stay in those houses. For example, if the nodes are in your first and seventh, you will see changes and transformation within who you are and how you present yourself to the world, and that will, in turn, bring transformation into how you show up in your relationships.

This Eclipse Season

It’s worth noting Leo’s association with kings and royalty and how the South Node’s influence will likely dissolve any pedestals currently holding up those in power. This probably won’t happen to every single person in power, of course, but we’re already seeing a little bit of this within the astrological community. Last week there was a podcast shared where Steven Forrest, a very well known astrologer, teacher, and author within the astrological community, said the n-word. Since then there has been a demand that he be held accountable and one of the ways the astrological community as a whole has demanded this happen is by insisting that he no longer speak at the upcoming astrology conference UAC. As I’m writing this that answer is still undetermined but Forrest has posted an “apology” (if you can call it that) in which it’s glaringly obvious that he’s not apologetic about his behavior but rather how his perceived transgression is impacting his image. There was next to no accountability within his apology, furthering the demand that his actions have consequences. Regardless of what UAC ultimately decides, there has been irreparable damage to Steven’s image, rightfully so, and he has fallen from grace in the eyes of many of his students, followers, and clients. When I think about this eclipse and the South Node’s influence I imagine we’ll continue to see this happening, as many astrologers before me have predicted. My only hope is that those who are showing their true colors are truly held accountable for their actions. It’s one thing for the masses to become aware of their problematic behavior but another thing for the masses to feel seen and heard by the systems in place whether it’s here in the astrological community, within our political structure, etc.

South Node Eclipse

This eclipse sits within 9º of the South Node. The eclipses that conjoin the South Node tend to be more about purging. In my experience these eclipses tend to lead to more endings, or at least endings that aren’t as positive in nature. The North Node, the point opposite the South Node, brings changes and challenges that open doors and create opportunity but the South Node is the point that’s purging to create room for that new to come in. It tends to reflect the areas of our lives where we are keeping ourselves small or selling ourselves short. These types of eclipses tend to poke the bear, if you will, and jostle our worlds to get us unstuck, to wake us up to the ways in which our circumstances just aren’t working for us anymore. The changes that eclipse season brings can be difficult to understand and there’s typically a lot of fear of the future that comes with these changes. That said, it’s important to understand that these changes and endings happen for a reason. The circumstance that is leaving right now is making room for new energy to come in. This isn’t the time for planting new seeds or manifesting, but rather focusing on what you can control and expressing gratitude for what is going well in your life.

When the nodes transit a pair of houses they tend to reflect to us the ways in which we are keeping ourselves small and the ways in which we could be challenging ourselves by taking risks. This risk typically is the catalyst that is needed to propel us into growth, expansion, and greater success. The risk, however, is leaving behind what keeps you comfortable. Depending on the houses and planets involved (which we’ll get to) this could be friendships, a job, your partner, or even parts of yourself. This great expansion typically comes with major endings, but these endings make room for the new to come in. Over the course of the next 18 months as the nodes transit a set of signs and, therefore, a set of your houses you will see these endings taking place in these areas of life. For a lot of us this major change isn’t easy, and there are times where the closing of a door is something we don’t have control over, the decision was made for us. But, it’s important to remember, (especially around eclipses) that these changes are necessary to push you farther along on your fated path.

It will be important to look at the pair of houses that the nodes will be transiting for you (I will also do this in the horoscope section down below!) as well as any planets that you have in Aquarius and Leo. The North Node in Aquarius will bring greater success, confidence, and energy to your Aquarius house and any Aquarius planets. That said, the South Node will be a drain on your Leo house and any planets in Leo. The specific points and areas of more intense focus are: your Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Ascendent, Descendant, or MC/IC. The North or South Node connecting with any of these points will absolutely be felt and the archetypes represented by these planets will become a part of the greater storyline of this transit.

It can also be helpful to look back at the storyline that is wrapping up. As the North Node moved through Pisces and the South Node moved through Virgo you likely saw these major shifts, endings, and transformations that took place in those houses. And, to reiterate, any planets that the nodes connected with in Pisces or Virgo became a part of that transformation. I highly suggest spending some time reflecting on the node’s time in these signs to get an idea of the shifts that can come from these types of transits. This walk through memory lane will help you better understand the importance of the changes that are coming with this new transit. Consider the pair of houses that the nodes are leaving, what major shifts have you seen in these areas? With that information in hand, what shifts might you see in your new set of houses? We’re headed into eclipse season soon, our first eclipse is on August 12th and the second eclipse is on August 28. Eclipses will absolutely intensify these themes! Our first eclipse (8/12) will be in Leo but the second (8/28) will be in Virgo, even though the nodes have officially moved to Aquarius/Leo, this full moon is still close enough to the nodes to be an eclipse. This means that throughout August we’ll see this new area of focus highlighted as well as the old storyline wrapping up.

Before we dive into horoscopes it’s worth noting that the South Node’s transit of Leo is heavily flavored by Jupiter’s presence in Leo over the next year. I wrote about this earlier this month and I highly suggest reading it but here’s a little bit to get you started:

There was recently a discussion on social media about the Venus and Jupiter conjunction at 25º Cancer and I wanted to start this post off by talking about it because I think Jupiter’s time in Leo will spark a similar discussion. The way that social media astrologers talked about this conjunction, at least many of the ones that got views, talked about this being the luckiest day of the year and while that’s not not true it’s also a little simplistic. The reality is that there is an entire sky of happenings, not just one or two planets doing something “good,” but rather a deep complexity within all ten planets. And, to be honest, that isn’t even taking into consideration your own chart and the complexities that are layered in once we consider how everything is dancing around for you personally. The reality is that Jupiter is a planet of expansion and it’s often welcomed when he’s expanding money, notoriety, or success but he isn’t picky. He will expand anything he touches and that also includes our pain, heartache, sadness, anger, and struggle. There’s this simplistic view of Jupiter - yes, Jupiter is the greater benefic and oftentimes his influence is welcomed but that doesn’t mean it’ll always be comfortable. When I think about how this frustration applies to the greater transit of Jupiter in Leo I’m reminded of the South Node’s transit of Leo. There is often this attitude on social media that whatever sign Jupiter is transiting that year will be the “it girl” or the “luckiest” of all signs and if this transit were happening in a vacuum I’d say yeah, they probably will be. That said, in late July the South Node will enter Leo and be co-present in Leo for the entire transit of Jupiter in Leo. The South Node is associated with depletion, it can be a drain, it removes, expels, and disposes of unwanted (and sometimes wanted) parts of our lives and psyches. It exposes our deepest, darkest fears and pushes us to acknowledge them in order to purge the energy they’ve created and in purging this energy we create room for the new to come in. When I think about Jupiter and the South Node both transiting the same sign and the same house in our charts it’s obvious that we must first purge, expel, and let go of parts of our lives before we’re able to reach that notoriety or success that Jupiter promises. In thinking back to the discussion on the Venus/Jupiter conjunction I heard a lot of people say “If this is the luckiest day of the year why do I feel terrible” and it’s those voices that inspired me to talk about this transit from a much more realistic lens so that you’re able to truly set yourself up for the next year. It’s important that you all feel prepared for these harder conversations, especially in regards to the areas of life your personal Leo house represents. We often have to move through pain and confront our shadow before we’re able to step into the limelight and this is absolutely one of those times.

It’s worth noting that the Nodes move backwards throughout the zodiac so they’ll be entering Leo/Aquarius at the end of the sign (on July 27th) which means that we have some time before Jupiter and the South Node are truly conjunct. Jupiter will actually have three conjunctions with the South Node (as will Mars retrograde in Leo but that’s a stressor for another day) the first on November 11 at 25º Leo, the second on February 22, 2027 at 20º Leo, and the third on April 23, 2027 at 17º Leo. I expect these themes to really be kicked up during this timeframe - the first few months of Jupiter in Leo will likely be smooth sailing, you might see that promised expansion or success in the Leo area of your chart, but those advances will likely be revisited once Jupiter inches closer to the SN and turns retrograde. Not to mention, we’ll also have a Mars retrograde in Virgo/Leo in early 2027, furthering these themes of taking a step back and reconsidering what you want/need moving forward.

We have an Aquarius Full Moon on July 29th at 06º Aquarius 30’. It’s exact at 10:35am EDT and highlights the current Jupiter/Pluto opposition. The opposition was exact on July 20th, then the Sun joins Jupiter and directly opposes Pluto on July 27th, and the opposition is further intensified on the day of this full moon with the moon so closely aspecting these three planets.

I talked quite a bit about this energy in my post on Jupiter in Leo but here’s some of that info again:

Jupiter in Leo will first oppose Pluto in Aquarius. This opposition starts pretty much as soon as Jupiter enters Leo and builds for much of July going exact on July 20th. Jim Jones is someone who has Jupiter and Pluto in hard aspect (a conjunction in Cancer so not the same but similar energies). With this aspect we tend to see extreme greed, inflated egos, violent tendencies, and power imbalances. In the week following this opposition the Sun catches up to Jupiter and Pluto (on July 27-29) which will likely intensify the manifestations from the Jupiter-Pluto opposition. On its own the Sun and Jupiter together are often quite nice - it can be a little egoic and peacock-y but aside from that there’s an increase in confidence and willingness to be seen. That said, the darker side of Pluto brings out a more uncomfortable side of this pair. This energy feels gluttonous, the desire for more, more, more. The cup that is power, control, ego, pride is never full. This energy reminds me of a line that many of my unhealthy (previous) partners would use when I would share how something made me feel: “well I guess I’m just a piece of shit then, I guess I’m just a terrible person.” Accountability was lacking, but there was a ton of pride, jealousy, and ego in its place. The manifestations of Pluto can be very instinctual, and I often find that when people fight or manipulate like this it’s often a deeply rooted psychological response. They are unable to drop the ego wall because what is behind it is too painful or vulnerable to expose so there is an intense drive to protect it at all cost. It’s also worth noting that this is an opposition which on its own has a polarizing manifestation. If power imbalances are already present here with these three, we see that intensified given that they’re literally as far apart as they can get from one another.

I also talked a bit about this energy on the podcast this week (link to listen!) and how we may see this polarizing energy manifest internally or externally. It’s possible that you put on your mask and hide the insecurity with a heavy dose of over-confidence but inside you feel like a failure or a fraud. But, it’s also possible that the overconfident person isn’t you at all: it’s someone in your environment that provokes those feelings of inadequacy through their words or actions. I already noticed this energy coming up for me (worth mentioning that this opposition is angular for me, it sits conjunct my MC/IC axis) this week. I posted a simple comment about Mercury retrograde on Threads and was immediately met with someone explaining astrology to me as if I didn’t know. I was immediately triggered and defensive and really had to take my own advice here! I had to remind myself that there will always be people who don’t believe in me, who think I’m not capable, etc. but as long as I hold those beliefs about myself that’s all that matters. I ultimately decided not to respond because I didn’t feel the need to dignify their comments with a response and I think it’s those types of boundaries that will be important for us this week. It’ll be important to decide when you want to engage and with how much energy you want to offer the engagement. Emotional safety will be important, know your limits and don’t push yourself to your breaking point just for the sake of proving yourself to others.

Leo vs. Aquarius

It’s maybe not fair to always compare the signs when I talk about them but the reality is that nothing happens in a vacuum and I do think that comparing signs can give us just as much information on what they are in addition to what they’re not. Leo and Aquarius, similar to Aries and Libra, is the axis between the self versus the not self, or rather, the collective. People with Aquarius placements tend to be very rigid in their view of the world - they have ideals and visions of the way things should be and these come from a rather empathetic place. Their empathy isn’t overly flowery or mushy gushy in nature (like you might see with a Cancer’s empathy) because as an air sign they tend to emotionally detach from the outcome. They’ve told you what they think is right, they’ve given you specific advice but the rest is really up to you. And, when things come crumbling down because you didn’t follow their directions they are right there to remind you calmly and matter-of-factly: “I told you so.” I think most Aquarius placements believe if everyone just listened to them they’d have major world issues solved by lunch time. Their sister sign, Leo, brings much more heart energy to the table. Leo, a fire sign, burns with empathy, warmth, inclusion, and love. They are playful, experiential, youthful, and the life of the party. That said, for Leo’s, the rigidity (because they are a fixed sign after all) comes from their emotions and how they express them. There is a lot of rigidity in how they express themselves and honor their emotional flow. Sometimes this attachment to feeling and enjoying can get them in trouble - they’re seen as the life of the party and self-absorbed. That said, Leo’s true desire is to be seen authentically. Sometimes this comes out sideways as at their low points that might look like taking extreme measures to be seen (any attention is good attention, right?). But at their healthiest Leo’s bring their authentic love and warm heart into any relationship and role model deep loyalty that knows no bounds.

It’s my solar return!! Every year around my birthday I spend some time dissecting my solar return chart and I thought I’d offer a brief overview of that process for anyone attempting to understand theirs. Your solar return happens every year when the Sun returns back to the same degree and minute it was when you were born. Obviously this is most commonly known as your birthday but the solar return gets much more specific. Sometimes the Sun returns back to that exact point the day before, the day of, or day after your actual birthday. Just like your birth chart is a snapshot of where the planets were when you were born your solar return chart is a snapshot of where the planets are at the exact return of your Sun each year. And, just like your birth chart placements give you information about you and your life, your solar return chart will do the same for the next year. It’s the blueprint that can give you a more detailed look at your year ahead, areas of focus, energies to work with (or mitigate), etc. When I am looking at my own solar return, or a client’s SR for their year ahead forecast, these are the major things I am considering. It’s important to note that the solar return needs to be anchored back into your own chart. If you see something alarming in the SR chart, you need to also see that possibility in the natal chart. The same would be true for something auspicious!

• Where is the Moon in the SR chart: house placement (SR chart and natal), the sign, and any aspects its making. All of this will give you information on your emotional state and areas of focus over the next year.

• The rising sign of the SR chart and what natal house it falls in. That house and the themes associated with it become a focus. If your SR rising is the same as your natal rising it’s said that this is a more significant year for you!

• Your timelord: arguably one of the most important considerations! I want to know what house it falls in, what sign it’s in, what natal house it’s activating, any aspects it’s making, and is it retrograde or direct (or stationing!). I find that years where my timelord is retrograde in my SR chart are more “behind the scene” years. And this is doubly true if it activates my 4th, 8th, or 12th houses (SR or natal).

• Repeating degrees: obviously your sun will be a repeating degree, so we’re not considering that, but any other degrees that are repeating will be of significance! For example, if your natal Venus is at 6º Aries and in your SR Mercury sits at 6º Aries that degree, and the themes tied in with your Venus story, become important. Anytime a planet transits 6º Aries throughout the next year, or if your natal Venus is activated by a square or opposition, would also be important. You may also have planets conjunct your angles (ascendant/descendant, MC/IC) and that planet and its themes also become important and put on display pretty significantly.

Again, it’s always important to integrate the SR themes into the natal chart and identify what areas of your natal chart are highlighted and on display this year. And, you typically need to see possibilities highlighted a couple different times for them to be significant! You can go so much more in depth than this, but this is also pretty deep so take it slow and don’t overwhelm yourself. And, if you want to unpack it together, my door is always open :)

We have a Cancer New Moon on July 14, 2026 at 5:44am EDT. This new moon is exact at 21º Cancer 59’ and sits within two degrees of Mercury retrograde. On the surface this new moon has some flaws and highlights the retrograde story taking place in our Cancer ruled house in unhelpful ways. On the other hand, though, the Moon is in her home sign of Cancer giving us some strength to move forward with a more empowered attitude.

Cancer is a cardinal water sign. Cardinal signs mark the beginning of our seasons, Cancer is the beginning of Summer in the northern hemisphere, and because of this the cardinal signs tend to be initiators. That said, Cancer initiates in a different way than the other three cardinal signs, because of its watery nature Cancers tend to initiate from a place of emotion. It’s the emotional responses that drive them, which can sometimes get them in trouble, but it’s also why you see them being the caretakers and space holders. They are deeply empathetic and that empathy drives them to create warm, empathetic relationships with others. Of course, we all know a Cancer that struggles a little too much with boundaries and takes on your every emotion, but it really does come from a need to protect and nurture. When provoked, though, Cancers become extremely protected of themselves and the people around them. Their association with the crab depicts this well - the Crab has a hard exterior but a soft belly. The soft belly is representative of their sensitive nature, but if it’s under attack they will absolutely use those pinchers. The crabs side to side motion is relevant too - have you ever tried to get an unhealthy Cancer to take accountability for being overbearing or inappropriately dependent? The side to side motion is their deflection and manipulation rather than taking accountability for their actions. Cancers are often very sensitive and the slightest thing can set them off. This feels like an attack on that soft underbelly that they often can’t handle much of. The Cancer reaches to emotional manipulation to deflect and protect the tender center. The goal for the Cancer is to create better boundaries for themselves as these boundaries keep both them and those around them safe.

This is the only new moon each year where we see the moon in her home sign of Cancer which gives her (and us) much more strength when we’re thinking about manifesting. This new moon’s proximity to Mercury retrograde isn’t ideal, but the good news is that all of the planets in the sky look to the moon. If you follow the rulership of all the planets they all end up pointing back to the moon. She’s the HBIC, if you will. What is a retrograde?

A retrograde is a planet’s apparent movement backwards through the zodiac based on our view. That’s right, the planet isn’t actually moving backwards, but it looks that way to us from our point of view here on earth. Depending on the planet and its relationship to the Sun in the sky there are different triggers for when a planet might turn retrograde. For Mercury, who is quite speedy, a retrograde takes place when it gets too far ahead of the Sun. This typically happens 3, sometimes 4, times a year which is likely why it feels like Mercury is always retrograde! Mercury’s retrogrades tend to take place in one element for several retrogrades in a row. Right now Mercury’s retrogrades are taking place in the water signs. Earlier this year Mercury was RX in Pisces, the current RX in Cancer, and later this year it’ll be in Scorpio. This retrograde begins on June 29th at 26º Cancer and ends on July 23rd at 16º Cancer. These degrees are important - pay attention to any planets or angles you have between those degrees in your chart, especially if they are in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). What do I need to know?

There is often a lot of rhetoric online about Mercury and what might happen under its retrograde so I’m going to try and keep things simple. Mercury is the planet of communication, therefore, when it is moving backwards there is a communication error. If there was one piece of advice I could give anyone and everyone for a Mercury retrograde it would be to over-communicate. During this period of time details are lost, people make assumptions that lead to disappointments, and confusion is at an all time high. Now more than ever it’s important that you know others understand you and that you understand them. Make your expectations clear, concise, and direct. And have them do the same! This is the main reason it’s ill advised to sign a contract under a Mercury retrograde. Obviously life still goes on and we can’t always halt our commitments for three weeks… but, as much as you’re able to, read between the lines and ensure that you clearly understand what you’re signing & committing to.

At their core retrogrades can be very useful times. Life is full of cycles, ups and downs that are inevitable, and a retrograde marks a slower cycle for us. This is a time where we tend to look backwards at past commitments, decisions or relationships. All retrogrades are associated with “re” words: revisit, reassess, you get the idea… This is a natural time for us to stop, pause, take stock and really take the time to process something before moving forward again. All of that said, of course each retrograde is flavored by the planet that is turning retrograde, the sign it’s in and for you personally: what house that falls in your chart and any planets that come into contact with the retrograde planet. All of these pieces tend to give context to what the retrograde might be about for us.

Each retrograde is broken up into three notable sections. There is the pre-retrograde shadow, the retrograde itself, and the post retrograde shadow. We are all very familiar with the actual retrograde itself, the set of degrees that the planet is actually moving backwards in, which in this instance are the degrees from 26º to 16º Cancer. But, it’s also important to note the time frames before the retrograde, where the planet moves through those sets of degrees for the first time, and the period after the retrograde ends where the planet is moving back through those degrees for a third time. Mercury moved into its shadow on June 12th and remained there until its retrograde on June 29th. Then, from July 23rd (when Mercury stations direct) to August 7th (when it finally reaches 26º Cancer again), Mercury is in its post retrograde shadow.

These stages aren’t always focused on because the retrograde itself tends to pack the biggest punch but I think it can be really helpful to identify these time periods. One of the benefits of paying attention to the pre-retrograde shadow is that we typically notice small issues arising or themes of focus that give us an idea of what we can expect for the retrograde itself. We tend to notice these retrograde themes come up even before the retrograde, during the pre-retrograde shadow, but things are typically confusing or unclear. Depending on the nature of the retrograde (planet, sign, house, etc.) this unclear area may differ but it may not make itself super obvious until later on in the retrograde cycle. Let’s think of an example - if you’re a Libra rising this retrograde will take place in your tenth house. This is the house of career, long-term goals, and passions. While Mercury is in its pre-retrograde shadow there may be some small inconsistencies that show up at work - maybe you have a project from your boss that feels confusing or there is an issue with a coworker. These things might feel small or subtle at the time but there’s a strong likelihood that what arises during the pre-retrograde period comes back around and the issue evolves during the retrograde itself. The benefit of paying attention here is that you can begin to be proactive - maybe you double check with your boss that you know what is expected of you within this current project or you approach the coworker with an open mind to work out some of your issues.

Will my ex text me?

Mercury retrograde tends to be associated (within the social media and pop astrology realm) with this period of time where our exes text us. To be honest I think 9 times out of 10 this is not the case… But retrogrades in general tend to be associated with ‘re’ words: revisit, reassess, re-establish, reconsider. This retrograde (depending on the house it’s taking place in within your chart, which is something we’ll talk more about in the horoscope section) might be a time where you’re looking back on past relationships, whether it’s family, old friends, or a past partner, and reconsidering the relationship and how you felt about it. This time of processing might come with a need to set a boundary with someone or a desire to reach back out and gain closure on a past issue. Either way, this is a time of pause to let yourself process any of these thoughts and feelings that may arise. Just like we’re trying to avoid signing contacts without all of the details, we are also trying to avoid signing emotional contracts without all of the details as well. This is where miscommunications tend to arise, so if you’re reaching out to someone from your past (or they’re reaching out to you) it will be important for you to state your expectations up front. Honesty is key!

Jupiter in Cancer

Jupiter has been transiting Cancer since mid 2025 bringing us expansion and success in the area of our lives associated with the house we find Cancer in our charts. We also saw the recent Venus-Juptier conjunction take place in Cancer at 25º Cancer, just a degree away from where Mercury is stationing retrograde. I was curious about this conjunction and Mercury’s eventual pause taking place within a degree of each other, and this is something we talked about on the Capricorn full moon episode of the podcast in more depth. Essentially, these two are inherently linked. Think back to anything you initiated during that conjunction, or even the expansion that came from Jupiter in general. This retrograde may be a time where you’re revisiting some of those commitments, you may have more information now than you did then and that changes things for you. This can feel discouraging, especially if there was a major shift that was really exciting for you, but remember that there’s often good reason for the pauses that retrogrades bring us. They slow us down so that we’re not jumping in before we’re ready. Even if it’s uncomfortable or confusing right now it won’t always be! The clarity will come.

He will expand anything he touches and that also includes our pain, heartache, sadness, anger, and struggle. There’s this simplistic view of Jupiter - yes, Jupiter is the greater benefic and oftentimes his influence is welcomed but that doesn’t mean it’ll always be comfortable. When I think about how this frustration applies to the greater transit of Jupiter in Leo I’m reminded of the South Node’s transit of Leo. There is often this attitude on social media that whatever sign Jupiter is transiting that year will be the “it girl” or the “luckiest” of all signs and if this transit were happening in a vacuum I’d say yeah, they probably will be. That said, in late July the South Node will enter Leo and be co-present in Leo for the entire transit of Jupiter in Leo. The South Node is associated with depletion, it can be a drain, it removes, expels, and disposes of unwanted (and sometimes wanted) parts of our lives and psyches. It exposes our deepest, darkest fears and pushes us to acknowledge them in order to purge the energy they’ve created and in purging this energy we create room for the new to come in. When I think about Jupiter and the South Node both transiting the same sign and the same house in our charts it’s obvious that we must first purge, expel, and let go of parts of our lives before we’re able to reach that notoriety or success that Jupiter promises. In thinking back to the discussion on the Venus/Jupiter conjunction I heard a lot of people say “If this is the luckiest day of the year why do I feel terrible” and it’s those voices that inspired me to talk about this transit from a much more realistic lens so that you’re able to truly set yourself up for the next year. It’s important that you all feel prepared for these harder conversations, especially in regards to the areas of life your personal Leo house represents. We often have to move through pain and confront our shadow before we’re able to step into the limelight and this is absolutely one of those times.

It’s worth noting that the Nodes move backwards throughout the zodiac so they’ll be entering Leo/Aquarius at the end of the sign (on July 27th) which means that we have some time before Jupiter and the South Node are truly conjunct. Jupiter will actually have three conjunctions with the South Node (as will Mars retrograde in Leo but that’s a stressor for another day) the first on November 11 at 25º Leo, the second on February 22, 2027 at 20º Leo, and the third on April 23, 2027 at 17º Leo. I expect these themes to really be kicked up during this timeframe - the first few months of Jupiter in Leo will likely be smooth sailing, you might see that promised expansion or success in the Leo area of your chart, but those advances will likely be revisited once Jupiter inches closer to the SN and turns retrograde. Not to mention, we’ll also have a Mars retrograde in Virgo/Leo in early 2027, furthering these themes of taking a step back and reconsidering what you want/need moving forward.

Much sooner than that, though, Jupiter in Leo will first oppose Pluto in Aquarius. This opposition starts pretty much as soon as Jupiter enters Leo and builds for much of July going exact on July 20th. Jim Jones is someone who has Jupiter and Pluto in hard aspect (a conjunction in Cancer so not the same but similar energies). With this aspect we tend to see extreme greed, inflated egos, violent tendencies, and power imbalances. In the week following this opposition the Sun catches up to Jupiter and Pluto (on July 27-29) which will likely intensify the manifestations from the Jupiter-Pluto opposition. On its own the Sun and Jupiter together are often quite nice - it can be a little egoic and peacock-y but aside from that there’s an increase in confidence and willingness to be seen. That said, the darker side of Pluto brings out a more uncomfortable side of this pair. This energy feels gluttonous, the desire for more, more, more. The cup that is power, control, ego, pride is never full. This energy reminds me of a line that many of my unhealthy (previous) partners would use when I would share how something made me feel: “well I guess I’m just a piece of shit then, I guess I’m just a terrible person.” Accountability was lacking, but there was a ton of pride, jealousy, and ego in its place. The manifestations of Pluto can be very instinctual, and I often find that when people fight or manipulate like this it’s often a deeply rooted psychological response. They are unable to drop the ego wall because what is behind it is too painful or vulnerable to expose so there is an intense drive to protect it at all cost. It’s also worth noting that this is an opposition which on its own has a polarizing manifestation. If power imbalances are already present here with these three, we see that intensified given that they’re literally as far apart as they can get from one another.

I know this has been heavy, and we all know that Jupiter’s influence can be beautiful, but I wanted to ensure you all got a realistic idea of Jupiter’s time in Leo. That said, let’s wrap this up with some ways Jupiter in Leo might manifest in nice ways for some of you. Leo - this means suns, risings, moons, etc., this is your time! Yes, all of the above might be true, but Jupiter is bringing attention, volume, and laughter into your world as it connects with your Leo planets/angles. This is a time to welcome expansion, welcome new opportunities to be seen, and only invest in the people/avenues who are truly seeing you. Aries/Sagittarius people (again: suns, moons, risings, etc.), the other fire signs, Jupiter will make a trine to your planets/angles which often gives those placements a lovely pedestal for the year. There’s more confidence, energy, and drive present for you with this trine. Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio placements will experience a square/opposition with Jupiter which isn’t always the nicest, but I often find it feels like “nice on steroids.” The initial manifestation feels really good, like eating your first piece of cake, but after the tenth piece of cake you are sick. Be careful not to overdo it with this transit! Libra and Gemini placements get a sextile from Jupiter, which is a soft aspect but not as harmonious as the trine. This aspect requires a little bit of work. Think about how when you get in a car it doesn’t just take you where you need to go. You have to learn to drive, use the gas and brakes, and maybe put the address in the GPS. The opportunities that arise might require you to learn something before you’re able to access the benefits of the opportunity.

We have a Capricorn Full Moon on June 29, 2026 at 08º Capricorn 53’ at 7:55pm EDT. This full moon squares its ruler, Saturn, and takes place the same day as Mercury stations to retrograde which both manifest as a need to pause. That said, there are six planets in cardinal signs and the desire to drive full steam ahead will likely be present. Is that the right answer? Hard to say.

Cancer and Capricorn are the mother and the father of the zodiac. Cancer is a water sign that brings empathy, intuition, and an excess of emotional energy. People with significant Cancer placements are usually warm and compassionate unless they feel provoked or threatened in some way. They tend to be protective of their ‘people’ and when threatened you may experience more of the hard shell of the crab rather than the soft underbelly. That said, that soft underbelly exists, and while they’ll do whatever needs to be done to protect it, they can also create safety and warmth from their squishy, more sensitive parts. To be in a relationship with a Cancer is to be seen and loved. Capricorn, Cancer’s sister sign, brings a much more detached compassion. Capricorn’s are driven, hardworking, and the breadwinner. They have high expectations and demand that they be met from the people around them. That said, these expectations come from a place of care - they want what is best for you but don’t always show it in the same way Cancer’s do. People with Capricorn placements bring a calm but assured presence to every room they enter. They might not be the warmest person you know but they share their love and affection through their actions. This lunation highlights this axis - the Moon in Cancer and the Sun in Capricorn. This lunation highlights a special opportunity for us to highlight the similarities and differences between these two signs. They’re both very sensitive signs but they operate within their sensitivities very differently. Capricorn can be too boundaried and detached whereas Cancer can be emotionally codependent and overbearing. This lunation is an opportunity for us to recognize the ways we align with these energies in helpful or not so helpful ways. Tap into your emotions, let yourself feel empathy, and love unconditionally but don’t let yourself get sucked into feelings that aren’t your own and remember that boundaries are an important part of loving yourself.

Square to Saturn

This full moon squares its ruler, Saturn, which creates a bit of tension for this lunation. Capricorn moons are driven and that tends to mean shoving down emotions for the sake of being productive. This tension, though, brings an environment where we’re not able to be as productive as we want to be, which leads to emotion, which leads to even more frustration. This is an important opportunity to consider what road blocks are standing in your way and what those blocks might be trying to teach you. Often with Saturn, and the pauses associated with Saturn, there’s a benefit to slowing down. When we slow down we’re able to see things more clearly, and sometimes that means seeing opportunities that we wouldn’t have known existed if we continued on at our previous speed. Though it might be frustrating, ask yourself - what can this pause teach me? What is the benefit of slowing down right now?

Mercury retrograde

This retrograde will have its own post but it’s worth mentioning because this energy mirrors what I mentioned above. Mercury has been slowing down in Cancer and officially, on the day of this full moon, turns retrograde. This experience is much like walking into a room, forgetting what you came into the room for, and leaving without resolution on what you went in there for in the first place. Retrogrades are times to revisit, reassess, and reconsider. This pause might feel different than the one mentioned above, the manifestation might be a little more emotional or internal, but often Mercury retrogrades bring more mental energy that needs processing. There might need to be emotional boundaries set here rather than physical blocks within your environment. As always pay attention to the two houses that are highlighted here, your Cancer and Capricorn houses, as there is a lot of energy present there with this lunation!

We have a Gemini New Moon on June 14, 2026 at 24º Gemini 02’ at 10:52pm EDT. This New Moon isn’t doing the most but it does sit at the midpoint of Mars and Jupiter which takes its already cerebral and chatty energy and gives it a little more passion and drive.

Gemini is a mutable air sign ruled by Mercury. Gemini’s, or people with Gemini placements, tend to be chatty, cerebral, curious, and flighty. Gemini Moons in particular tend to do a lot of talking about their feelings rather than truly feeling them. It may be hard for them to truly conceptualize what someone means by “feeling” their feelings because they’ve been talking about them for hours without really getting into the true experience of the emotion. We might notice this new moon brings up more of that verbal and cerebral energy rather. There may be a lot of mental energy needing to be sorted and processed. You may feel called to communicate something you’ve been pondering or finally step into a teaching role after being the student prior. At best this energy is curious, witty, and playful but at worst it’s scattered and overwhelming. I find the best way to work with Gemini energy, especially a new moon in Gemini, is to write, talk, sing, read, learn, and get curious with the world around you.

Manifesting

New Moons are the point in the lunar cycle where we’re planting seeds, manifesting, and starting anew. That said, there are typically New Moons that are better for this and others that just aren’t as great. It’s always important for me to take the entire astrological happenings into consideration when I’m writing about a transit because the reality is that nothing is happening in a vacuum. When you’re thinking about manifesting this week it will be important to take stock of where you’re at first - do you have a solid foundation for these manifestations to stand on? What feelings might you need to work through before journeying into something new - grief, sadness, regret, shame? It will be important to prioritize these conversations rather than avoiding them. Sometimes we have to dig through the trenches before we can find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Jumping into a new, shiny project without considering how you’ve fallen flat in the past doesn’t offer you the most promise of success. On the bright side, there are no real “downsides” to this new moon. There aren’t any planets weighing it down, and with it coming within the week following the Venus - Jupiter conjunction in Cancer it feels like the ground is fertile for whatever we’re hoping to manifest right now!

Once a year Venus and Jupiter make a conjunction and both end their previous cycle as well as start a new cycle. While Jupiter has been in Cancer, the sign of its exaltation, we’ve been lucky enough to get two conjunctions with Venus. These conjunctions are already super lovely but in a sign that they both thrive in makes it so much more lovely. I talked a little about this conjunction in my full moon post but I felt it needed its own post & horoscopes!

Venus and Jupiter are the benefics - the planets that are the ‘doers of good.’ When they come together, typically once a year, it’s deemed as one of the most abundant and luckiest days of the year. It’s obviously important to consider the entire sky, as it’s also flavoring our experiences, so it might not necessarily feel all that great but on paper it is an abundant time. The beautiful thing about this connection this year is it’s happening in Cancer! Jupiter and Venus are both comfortable in Cancer which translates to more strength for us when it comes to manifesting. From an electional perspective this is an ideal time to plant new seeds, manifest, and welcome abundance into your life. Ps - electional astrology is the art of selecting a chart ahead of time that supports your overall vision of that endeavor. Having the benefics together and strong in their signs gives us a solid baseline to work with. This conjunction is exact on June 9th at 25º Cancer. This is a juicy time where we’re feeling more confident. Be specific in your manifestations, be thorough in your vision of what you want. Full moons aren’t necessarily times to manifest, but in the week after this full moon the energy is ripe to begin considering what you’re planting under this conjunction. You can also consider the last conjunction on August 12, 2025 to consider what you planted then, what story lines are ending, and where you’re going for this next Venus and Jupiter cycle.

I want to go back to that electional piece - as an astrologer who practices electional astrology I want to ensure that my manifestations have the best possible start and I want the planets to mirror the success in their own strength. The exact day of this conjunction the Moon is in Aries. You can see in the chart below that she’s sandwiched between Neptune and Saturn.

From an electional perspective the Moon, who is ruling over both Venus and Jupiter in Cancer, isn’t at her strongest here. She’s in a sign that naturally squares Cancer, and she’s stuck between the planet of illusion and the planet of rules. That said, the day before this conjunction, on June 8th, the Moon is in Pisces and applying to trine both Venus and Jupiter WITH RECEPTION. We looooooove this. This translates to much more harmony and strength for our manifestations. This is something we talked about on the last episode of the podcast with our guest Elly Higgins, highly suggest checking that out if you haven’t already, but this is a day that many astrologers have had their eyes on for awhile! I highly suggest working with your manifestations the day before this conjunction is exact because there’s so much more promise within that chart versus the day of the actual conjunction.

In addition, take into account where these happenings are taking place in your chart, specifically the house that they fall in, and what area of your life is activated. The themes that are activated right now will flavor your experience of this conjunction. Consider what planets are being aspected. Full Moons in general mark the halfway point within the lunar cycle. The New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle and approximately two weeks later the moon is full and halfway through its journey through the zodiac. Then, two weeks after the Full Moon, we start the cycle over again with a New Moon. The Full Moon being this halfway point within a greater cycle creates a good opportunity for us to check in on our goals, how far we’ve come, any changes we’d like to make or feedback we might have for ourselves. The New Moon is the time when we manifest so naturally the Full Moon becomes the time when we check in on those manifestations.

Mutable Energy

The great thing about mutable signs (Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo) is that they don’t hold onto things longer than they need to. They can recognize when something (or someone) has run its course and it’s time to throw in the towel. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Uranus, and the North and South Node are all in mutable signs. All of this mutability gives us the ability to honor and acknowledge what exactly needs to go. We’re able to, with much more ease, acknowledge what isn’t working to manifest our desires and what needs to change in order to be more successful. It’s time to acknowledge what you truly don’t have space for so that you’re able to free up some space for the new energy to come in. These are the commitments, people, or material possessions that bring you down, hold you back, and keep you small. I know change is harder for some than others but this is an opportunity for you to free up more space within your world. This new space will be filled with more happiness, abundance, recognition, and more but we have to make sure there’s room for it to come in.

Square the Nodes

This Full Moon offers us another layer of reflection as well - it is sitting square the North and South nodes. The Nodes are associated with the Sun and Moon, they’re the points in which their paths cross, and with their connections to eclipses they’re associated with endings, fate, and transformation. We’ve gotten some space from the eclipses that took place in February and March and this marks the halfway point between the previous eclipses and the eclipses that will take place in August 2026. This offers up another opportunity for reflection - what has changed since late winter? Eclipse season can be jarring and destabilizing but we’ve had some time and space to recover from that and see the consequences (good or bad) of the shifts that took place. You may feel ready to move forward in some area of your life or ready to make a change. Or, maybe you’re still not ready for that but you know in your gut it will happen eventually. Either way, this highlights further for us that we’re doing some heavy processing and might need extra time and space for that.

A New Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon sit at the same degree of the same sign. This marks the end of the previous lunar cycle and the beginning of the next lunar cycle. The shift from the old to the new makes it a great time for planting seeds, manifesting, and creating new goals and visions for your future. That said, it’s also important to consider the previous cycle and how it went for you before plunging into new goals. This is a good time for feedback for yourself - what went well? What didn’t go so well? Then, once you have an idea of what you might do differently this time around you can start to consider the new goals and manifestations you want to lay out for yourself.

This New Moon takes place in Taurus, which is where the Moon likes to be. Taurus is the sign of her exaltation, meaning she has the ability to do what she wants here and feels comfortable within the structures of this sign. A Taurus Moon is intuitive, sensual, caring, a bit stubborn, and protective. Taurus is a fixed earth sign ruled by Venus. People with significant Taurus placements tend to be down to earth, reliable, focused on resources and comfort, and a little stubborn. Regardless of your own chart these themes are present during this new moon. Because of her exaltation this means our manifestations and goals are made that much stronger by this fertile and ripe energy. Taurus isn’t a sign that likes risk, though, so this isn’t the time to be shooting into new projects or diving in head first. This energy is more intentional and poised - it’s the perfect time to recognize your own strengths and play to them. Don’t play it safe, but also don’t oversell yourself either.

Just before this new moon the Moon formed a sextile with Jupiter in Cancer with reception (not that she needs it). This adds a second layer of strength and abundance to this new moon - it’s like the sugary glaze on top of an already sweet donut. This sextile is the confidence boost that we need to apply ourselves. Jupiter brings a hopeful, optimistic energy to a lunation in a sometimes skeptical sign. Earth signs tend to be a little apprehensive, they want to make sure the water isn’t too hot before jumping in, and have a healthy dose of realism that can sometimes feel like pessimism. It’s also worth noting that the Taurus-Scoprio axis is also a rather distrustful one - they struggle to trust that others will meet their needs whether tangible (Taurus) or emotional (Scorpio). Again, Taurus is a resource oriented sign, the hyperfixation is ensuring that your needs are met in the long run and who better to ensure they’re met than yourself? That said, Jupiter’s influence here gives you permission to dream a little - to consider how realism and playing it safe can mean selling yourself short. Now might be the best opportunity to take a risk, even if it is a calculated one.

Hi and welcome to our wedding weekend!

Thank you so much for being here to support Rose & me this weekend. As we head into the weekend I thought it might be helpful to explain the non-traditional ceremony time on Saturday. As many of you know (or may not know!) I am an astrologer. I think most people assume astrology is putting people in boxes or using it as a scapegoat for bad behavior, which social media and pop-astrology does a good job of reinforcing, but there are many of us who are actually researchers, analysts, writers, historians, etc. who have spent years studying patterns and identifying correlations between human behavior and planetary placements. The study of astrology dates back thousands of years and has manifested into many different schools of thought on the subject. That said, for today’s purposes, we’re going to be talking about electional astrology. This is a branch of astrology in which we are proactive and identify an auspicious time for a particular endeavor. You can use electional astrology for applying for a job, asking for a raise, proposing to a partner, buying a house, moving, planning a trip, getting pregnant, and, of course, getting married!!! Electional astrology gives you the opportunity to pick the best chart possible within the desired window of time to ensure the success of your endeavor. Now, there is no perfect chart, but electing a chart gives you access to identify what possible struggles you might face, and in some ways “pick and choose” those struggles.

Now, to understand why we picked a non-traditional ceremony time, it’s helpful to understand how the planets rise and set on the horizon and how that translates to a “good” or “bad” chart. We’re all pretty familiar with how the Sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening, right? Well, all of the other planets do this as well! The horizon is known as the ascendent-descendent axis in an astrology chart: the planets rise on the ascendent and they set on the descendent. There is also a part of the zodiac that is rising. Thinking about how the constellations or the Moon moves throughout the night might help you visualize this. Each of the twelve signs of the zodiac will rise on the horizon at some point throughout every single day. If you’re familiar with astrology you’ll know this as your “rising sign” and an accurate birth time is required for you to know that bit of information! The sign, the planet that rules that sign, and any planets in that sign that are rising are all important to this process. That sign (whether it’s Leo, Capricorn, etc.) and the planet that rules that sign become particularly important when it comes to the activity you’re using the chart for. Of course, in our case, we’re using it for a marriage! The sign and the planet ruling that sign will describe the nature of our marriage so it was important to us that both were strong and reflected the values we desire in our marriage. Because the planets and the sign on the horizon are constantly changing (just think about how the Sun changes from 7am to 12pm) this means we have to find the best time of day where the strength of the planets are best highlighted AND the unwanted influences are tempered. This process actually took me several weeks, and it gets really weedy, but suffice it to say that 2pm on Saturday was the time of day where we found the most strength, love, long-lasting commitment and companionship!

Now, if you’re truly curious about this technique for yourself there are so many other things to consider. I just explained why a 2pm ceremony time on this particular day was important to me but it’s worth noting that I looked at every single day this year! I wanted a day where the Moon was strong, where Venus and Mercury weren’t retrograde, and where the Sun was shining a strong, loving light onto our marriage. One of the things I love most about our wedding chart is that Venus and Jupiter are both applying to a conjunction in Cancer (this also looks lovely in our own charts). Venus is the planet of love and Jupiter is the planet of luck, expansion, and good fortune. Both of these planets are known as the “benefics” or the doers of good. When they come together in the sky their benevolence merges and creates even more beauty, love, warmth, hope, creativity, abundance, and good fortune. This energy was something I really wanted to have backing our marriage, and it also fits beautifully in our own charts which strengthens that energy.

A story of struggle & hope

The Moon only makes three aspects during her time in Scorpio: first a square with Pluto (exact at 1:52am on 5/1), then her opposition with the Sun that gives us the full moon, and lastly a trine with Jupiter (exact at 4:46am on 5/2). This paints quite the picture of her time over these 24 hours - the turmoil that is kicked up during her square to Pluto, the illumination (for better or worse) during the full moon, and the ease that comes with her trine to Jupiter with reception. The square with Pluto feels like we’re being drug through mud, like the dust on our darker parts are kicked up and displayed nicely where neither we nor those around us can ignore them. It’s messy, emotional, provocative, and painful. It’s the type of emotional overhaul and upheaval that can be hard to put into words: it’s raw and uncomfortable to say the least. And, naturally, there’s a full moon the same day to shine a light on these dark parts that haven’t seen the light of day maybe ever. The smell of the dark of the earth is exposed and it’s hard to deny it. The beauty is, though, that light offers up the opportunity for growth, growth where we thought we couldn’t previously. The emotional release that comes with the square to Pluto moves out the old, stuck, decaying matter and makes room for the newly planted seeds to take up some space themselves. Here’s where we get the trine to Jupiter, the light at the end of the tunnel, the promise that meets us at the end of hardship. We’ve struggled, fought, cried, died and been reborn again and with that brings movement into new territories. It’s messy but it’s human and we understand, at the end of the journey, what the mess was all for. That said, it doesn’t necessarily make going through it any more comfortable unfortunately.

Mars square Jupiter

The ruler of this full moon is Mars, who sits in Aries, and is applying to a square with Jupiter during this full moon. The square itself is exact on May 4th but this connection definitely flavors our experience of this lunation. Jupiter, as Maris pointed out on our podcast episode this week, tends to make things bigger for better or worse. And Mars, who tends to be hot-headed and competitive, especially in Aries, doesn’t necessarily need Jupiter’s influence. That said, this energy can be especially nice if you’ve found yourself in a rut and just need the momentum that this pair can offer. These two are in cardinal signs, so there isn’t the staying power we might see with fixed signs, which means there is a lot of energy on the front end that won’t necessarily sustain for an extended period of time. Think of this like a match - the fire is intense and bright but the stick burns quickly and before you know it the fire is out. It’s a great opportunity to take advantage of that initial fire, passion, or strike of inspiration because it might not sustain itself until tomorrow. And, to be honest, with Mars transits it’s better to use the energy rather than ignore it or store it for later. If the energy isn’t used properly it tends to boil over in unhelpful ways. At the very least I encourage you to move your body in a supportive way this weekend!

People with Aries placements tend to be passionate, competitive, and a bit impulsive. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac so there tends to be an emphasis on being first, being the best, and sometimes there is a self-centeredness about these people. No shade, it’s just that they’re good at centering themselves and identifying exactly what is best for them and I can’t fault them for that. I saw a quote recently “you can’t spell boundaries without Aries” and it’s so true. I think it’s the cutting association with Mars, Aries’ ruling planet, because I find with Aries people there is no problem cutting someone off or loose if the puzzle pieces aren’t fitting. With sooo many planets in Aries this week this energy is ripe and almost palpable, even if you don’t have Aries placements yourself. In some ways this energy works really well for a new moon, especially when we’re thinking about manifesting, because there’s so much energy and inspiration present. There is an intense drive to succeed and a LOT of gas in the tank to get there.

That said, it’s worth noting that Mars, the ruler of this new moon, is coming off its conjunction with Neptune and building to a conjunction with Saturn which is exact on April 20th. Neptune tends to be a drain on Mars, or at least so confusing that Mars shoots ten rounds without realizing that the gun was empty. There’s a blurred sense of reality and that easily creates frustration when you’re ready to take action NOW. In addition, the building conjunction with Saturn, though it’s also in Aries, has a slowing, cooling, and stalling effect. I like to think of Mars as the gas pedal and Saturn as the brake. Mars is the planet that gets us up and moving - it’s our motivation to get things done and take action. Saturn, on the older hand, brings a cold structure - as a planet Saturn appreciates order, tradition, and boundaries. Any good manifestation needs both Mars and Saturn playing a role - we need to know when it’s a good time to take action and storm full force ahead but we also need to know when it’s time to pause and go back to the drawing board. In an ideal world these two would work together but, unfortunately, that’s not always the case. I notice that we as humans tend to over-identify with either Mars or Saturn - we are either impulsive, storming the castle before thinking about our plan of action - or, we spend too much time planning our castle takeover and miss our opportunity entirely. Truthfully, it’s really up to us to decide which side of the river we fall on. I often find that people who are rather Saturnian will tell you that this is an opportunity to slow down, pause, be intentional but the Martian folks will say “some things just require more work - dig in, find that grit and determination, don’t give up.” The reality is that what we ‘need to do’ is often dependent on our current circumstances, our own astrological make-up, and our relationships to these energies. For you, this might look like bringing intention into any and all goals you’re setting out to achieve this week - there will inevitably be speed bumps and road blocks - but what are these hiccups trying to teach you? What is the benefit of slowing down and pausing? Sometimes when we take a moment to look around we see things we wouldn’t have seen if we had continued on at our desired pace. In addition, it will also be important to know when to push forward even when things get tough. Fear might be taking over and convincing you to throw in the hat - but sometimes the lesson is that we need to continue grasping for what we want when things get tough. It’s up to you to decide this week where you’re at individually as these conversations are personal to you and not one size fits all. Tough Saturn transits tend to bring up deep rooted emotions and fears so this might be an emotional conversation. Do what you need to do to move through the emotion and allow yourself space to breathe.

Let’s go back to all of the planets in Aries for a moment - Aries, and Mars, tend to be hot, dry, quick to anger, but the passion and fire burn quickly. The best way to work with this energy is to utilize the extra energy when it comes up but rest when it burns out. Drink lots of water, be patient, make sure you’re eating and fueling yourself in the necessary ways, and realize this might not be a sprint but rather a marathon - it’s not all going to happen overnight, even as much as we want it to, so how can we set ourselves up for success rather than leaning into glorified, unrealistic visions of the future. Taking advantage of the extra energy will give us the forward movement we’re craving, but understand that this cardinal energy typically has an expiration date and isn’t at our disposal forever.

Libra vs Aries

The Aries - Libra axis is one of my favorites to talk about. Aries, being the first sign of the zodiac, has a youthful energy to it - people with Aries placements can be impulsive, acting before they think, competitive, and a little selfish. This selfishness isn’t necessarily a bad thing, they know what they want and aren’t afraid to go for it, and this is one of the ways in which Libra differs. Libra, an air sign, who is socially savvy and keenly tapped into the social undercurrents of any environment, is less likely to stick up for themselves, especially if it goes against the group or creates a divide in the milieu. If Aries is selfish to a fault then Libra is selfless to a fault - where Aries wants to be the first, the best, the strongest, Libra aims not to ruffle feathers and keep the peace. Neither are “right” but they both take their desires to the extreme. Libra’s are constantly weighing their options, reading the room, measuring themselves against others, and are very observant. Libra’s often get pegged as superficial but if you’ve known a Libra then you know they’re way more tapped in then we give them credit for. In fact, they’re so tapped in that they’re often indecisive, another common stereotype for Libra, because their strength is being able to empathize and understand each side of the situation so much so that they can’t pick a side. It’s because of this, though, that they make great mediators and lawyers - they’ve considered every single angle before you’ve even had your morning cup of coffee.

Square to Jupiter

Given the “I won’t ruffle any feathers” attitude of Libra we’re already seeing a clear picture here of a Full Moon highlighting the necessary balance between doing what is right for you, regardless of how it impacts others, and compromise. I think the Moon’s square to Jupiter definitely tips the scales in the compromise direction. I notice that hard aspects to the benefic planets (Jupiter and Venus) often feel like toxic positivity - we’re shoving everything that is uncomfortable under the rug and pretending all is well! But the problem is you can put lipstick on a pig and it’s still a pig. This energy creates a breeding ground for keeping the peace, biting our tongue, and playing nice as well as a lot of avoidance. Avoidance, of course, is that thing that keeps us comfortable, or so that’s what we tell ourselves.

Venus square Pluto

Venus and Pluto build to their square (which is exact on April 3rd just two days after this lunation) and given that Venus is the ruler of this full moon this square will absolutely be felt. I’ve laid out all the ways in which we will want to avoid and shove anything we deem uncomfortable under the rug but the reality is - it’s likely too big. The pain, the resentment, the anger, the frustration has built up and we’ve reached the point where the rug is no longer sufficient to hold it all. Pluto brings power struggles, control issues, secrets, and violence. Venus represents our values, relationships, and love. These power struggles and issues with control might manifest with your partner, with your boss at work, with a friend, etc. and given that these two are in fixed signs the desire to dig in will be at an all time high. These issues provoke us to consider our relationships and the nature of them. This is a time to assess your boundaries within your relationships, your expectations of those who you spend the most time with, and whether or not these relationships fall in line with your values. These relationship stressors might be a time to consider the ways in which you’ve been engaging in unhealthy relationships or patterns and whether or not you have accountability within that. This can be rather provocative energy and I encourage you to move with intention rather than impulsivity. There might be instances where we need to compromise even though it’s uncomfortable for us. That said, we also have to consider when compromise isn’t the answer - the areas of our lives and the world where we’ve taken too much and it’s time to fight back against the aggressor. Now, that aggressor might be someone in your world but it also might be something like, oh I don’t know, the United States government? When I talk about these transits, and even when Maris and I recorded the podcast episode for this full moon, I’m typically thinking about the ways in which we need to learn to work together but the reality is sometimes that’s just not the answer. Maybe we’ve abandoned ourselves time and time again trying to make a relationship work, trying to keep the peace, trying to maintain some sense of normalcy but it’s just not going to happen. There might be a reason for you to actually dig in and fight back, and who am I to tell you not to? I obviously can’t know every detail of the lives of my readers but I do know where we’re at currently from a political standpoint in the US and this is absolutely a point in time where compromise won’t work - it’s time that we fight for what we believe in and the time is now. It’s time to use our voices (hello Taurus rules the throat) and share our piece. Interestingly there are ‘No Kings Day” protests happening all over the US this Saturday 3/28. More and more people are waking up to the imbalances in power, the literal abuse of power, the corruption, etc. and this Venus Pluto conversation will absolutely exacerbate or further highlight how these issues rub up against our own values. If you’re reading this and you’ve (at some point) thought to yourself “I’m just not a political person” I ask you - do you use airports? Are you a human that needs reliable and affordable health care? Do you drive a car that needs gas? Do you have children? Or know children you care about? Are there marginalized humans in your life that you care about (people of color, queer people, immigrants, etc.)? Everything is political. I understand it can feel uncomfortable, especially if you have no idea where to start or have little understanding of the issues we’re currently facing, but don’t let that shame or desire to maintain some sense of comfort keep you from even starting to open your eyes to the reality of what is happening. There is no shame - even if you’ve ignored anything and everything political until right now - there’s no shame in making a change now. Better now than never! The volume on these issues are at an all time high - we’re at a major turning point right now and the time to use your voice (or even increase your awareness) is now.

Our first lunation post eclipse season is the Pisces New Moon on March 18, 2026 at 28º Pisces 27’. It’s exact at 9:24pm EDT. This New Moon sits in a wide-ish (out of sign) conjunction with Neptune, sextile’s Uranus, and is our first Pisces lunation that isn’t an eclipse since the Pisces New Moon on February 27, 2025 (the Pisces Full Moon on September 7, 2025 was an eclipse).

The first lunation after eclipse season often feels like a breath of fresh air to me - we’re feeling much lighter, the waters are calmer, and we have a general confidence about the future that isn’t present during eclipse season. The nodes have been in Virgo and Pisces since January 2025 which means we’ve seen a real shift in ourselves since then - specifically the areas associated with the houses you have Virgo and Pisces in. These shifts likely haven’t been easy but hopefully you’re able to see now some of the necessity in these shifts. The nodes won’t move out of Virgo and Pisces until July 26, 2026 but we’re finally able to begin focusing on these areas of our lives outside the context of eclipses and this Pisces New Moon is one of our first chances to do so. This New Moon gives us an opportunity to dream again, to consider our goals and visions for what we want and shoot for that regardless of the reality weighing you down.

With four planets in Pisces and this New Moon’s proximity to Neptune the energy feels very dreamy, creative, mystical, and a little fantastical. I think on the one hand it’s all very cute, but I do understand how there’s a concern of overdoing it here. That said, what is the harm in dreaming a little? This lunation is ripe with creative energy and not taking advantage of it would be a missed opportunity. Sometimes delusion is good - sometimes we need to put ourselves out there and dream big even when reality is telling us it won’t work. It’s in those instances that we see that sometimes things work out for us! Now, of course, the slippery slope is the fact that sometimes it just doesn’t work out, and my Capricorn moon is dying to remind you to prepare yourself for that. But honestly who am I to rain on your parade? I don’t need to project my own fears onto you - maybe we all should, myself included, lean into dreaming big and envisioning the idyllic regardless of how hard it’ll be for me.

To be honest this is the perfect New Moon for manifesting with vision boards, artistic expressions of your dreams, meditation, fantasizing, baths with rose petals and honey to draw in love and abundance, etc.! You can have a lot of fun with this energy and it’s such a cute moment after a chaotic few months.

Mars also builds to a trine with Jupiter this week and this adds to our watery, intuitive, creative energy. This energy also creates heightened sensitivity and emotion - you may notice that you’re more open emotionally and the smallest things hit you harder than they usually do. Boundaries aren’t really the thing that Pisces and water signs do well so being intentional about them will be important this week. You may notice that you get home at the end of the day carrying feelings, ailments, opinions, etc. that aren’t your own. When the energy is really watery like this (especially as someone with five planets in water) I like to create a non-tangible boundary around me before I leave the house for the day. This just looks like me envisioning a bubble around my field to protect from taking on others’ energy, energy drains, and even germs/illnesses.

My hope is, though, that you’re able to lean into your imagination and dream for what feels really far away - what would happen if every piece of the puzzle magically fell into place? What would your life look like? We might not have the skills yet to make that happen but it will come! Right now we’re in the stage where we’re creating the vision - action will come in due time.

Each month, the moon makes a complete cycle through the signs of the zodiac, and working with this cycle is beneficial to us in so many ways. As much as you are able (within the structures of our current world), I highly suggest following the natural rhythms of the moon cycle and letting them lead you throughout the month. You may notice, as I have, that this rhythm feels much more supportive to you. The lunar cycle begins with each New Moon. This is the time of the month when the Sun and Moon share the same degree of a sign. This time marks beginnings and is typically associated with manifesting, setting intentions, and starting new projects. The light is at its lowest during this part of the month, so imagine that you are planting seeds that will grow as the month progresses. A few days before the New Moon is a good time to reflect on the previous cycle, revisit your manifestations from the last New Moon, and take stock of how things have changed. This is a good time to get quiet, notice the shifts, and give thanks for all that the month has brought you. On the day of the new moon or during the days following, begin to get clear on your new intentions for this next cycle. This is the time to manifest. I like to manifest by writing down what I want as if I already have it. Sometimes I do this by writing a letter to myself, and sometimes it’s just in bullet form, but either way, there is no wrong way to set intentions. During this time, you have a clear vision for yourself, goals, and intentions for the next month, and now it’s time to begin watering them.

Over the next two weeks, you may begin to see things shift, or you may be challenged to make a decision: play it safe or take a risk that could lead to all that you have been manifesting? I notice that the period of time between the first quarter square (about a week after the New Moon) and the Full Moon (two weeks after the New Moon) is the juiciest time of the lunar cycle for me. The Moon is building in light and it finally feels like we’re picking up a little speed. This is the time of the month where we start to see our manifestations take form. We tend to release our Moon Moods Podcast Full Moon episodes when the Moon is applying to her waxing trine to the Sun and these episodes do way better then our New Moon episodes when the Moon is decreasing in light.

By the time you make it to the Full Moon, roughly two weeks after the New Moon, the energy is picking up and you are getting the recognition you desire. This is when the light from the Moon in the sky is at its peak, and the energy is typically at an all time high. This marks the halfway point in the lunar cycle, as the moon sits opposite the Sun. This time can highlight any problem areas or directly reflect an opposition in your life. This is the time where you notice the roadblocks standing in your way of achieving the manifestations you set out to accomplish in this cycle. It is helpful to look back on your intentions: how far have you come and what needs to change in order to be more successful? Full moons are associated with releasing—you are releasing barriers or bumps in the road that are hindering you from having everything you desire. Sometimes these things are literal, and sometimes they aren’t tangible (like thoughts or beliefs you hold). This is the time to be honest with yourself, you may need to make a tough decision to get to the other side. What needs to change in order for your manifestations to reach fruition within the next two weeks? Some of my favorite ways to release are: baths, dancing, walking, crying, laughing, writing, and in general, moving energy. I notice that even a little bit of movement can help me release a lot, and I usually like to follow up the movements with a hot bath and a meditation. Sometimes all I need to do is get quiet long enough to hear the answers.

Like I mentioned above as the Moon starts to decrease in light things tend to get quieter. It’s likely still pretty loud during the week following the Full Moon but once you get to the third quarter Moon, a week before the New Moon, things begin to slow. Two weeks after the Full Moon marks the next New Moon, and our cycle starts over again. It’s important to take into account each of these lunations and the contacts they’re making with other planets in the sky. You’ll begin to notice that some lunations are tough, they aren’t all sunshine and rainbows, and they are coupled with intense healing. That said, there are also times when the lunation is making such supportive aspects that it *does* feel all sunshine and rainbows.

It’s also worth noting that depending on where these lunations fall in your chart, it will also impact how they’re experienced. I personally have a harder time with heightened energy of full moons, sometimes they can be overwhelming, but sometimes it’s a welcomed overwhelm finally seeing the fruits of my labor! However, I know plenty of people who feel their best under Full Moons and struggle more under New Moons. It’s all about our charts and how the planets interact with them, so it’s always important to do your own investigating and experiential learning when working with the moon and the lunar cycle. Consider where your own Sun and Moon sit in your chart, what part of the lunar cycle were you born under and how do you feel when that part of the cycle comes around each month? Also, if you have a menstrual cycle, do you notice that it comes during that part of the cycle? Things to consider!

Venus moves into Aries on March 6, 2026 and this entrance into Aries is immediately met with a conjunction with both Neptune (at 1º Aries 14’) and Saturn (at 2º Aries 22’). When a planet makes a shift from Pisces to Aries it’s often a very palpable shift - we’re forced out of our dream-like state and suddenly ready to take action and make a change. That said, this shift into Aries for Venus (and every other planet that moves into Aries in the near future) is heavily flavored by her connection with these two slower moving planets - not just because Saturn and Neptune are a big part of the current political and societal climate but also because their influence is a bit like whiplash.

Let’s talk a bit about this whiplash for a moment and consider what this might look like on an individual scale first before we dive into the bigger picture. Saturn and Neptune are almost on different sides of the same spectrum - they represent opposites in a lot of ways. Saturn is discerning and protective whereas Neptune is blind trust and intuition. Saturn is responsibility and hard work whereas Neptune is fantasy and shooting for the stars despite the obvious realistic constraints. Saturn typically exposes the raw reality of things and when a planet, like Venus, connects with Saturn it can feel like a reality check and it’s often not very comfortable. This reality check can feel disappointing and discouraging and there is often work involved and if you’re able to lock in & get down to the root of the issue you may be able to work through the struggle and find success. That said, Neptune’s influence here creates confusion and blurs reality - I think this is what I need to do moving forward, but is it?! There is a lot of grey area, blurred vision, rose colored glasses, and an inability to see the path forward clearly which is all verrrryyyy uncomfortable for Saturn who just wants to get. it. done. It’s also worth noting that Aries is a pretty hot-headed and trigger-happy sign so its influence isn’t helping here either - we’re taking shots but we’re shooting blanks?? Or maybe we’re not even shooting at all?? Hard to say. Venus’ movement into Aries and immediately conjunct these two planets will absolutely highlight all of this energy for us both internally and externally and I’m here to say it will absolutely be frustrating. That said, we’re just not going to have all of the answers right now and we may not be as productive as we want to be but the best thing we can do is trust in our intuition - trust that we are where we’re meant to be and avoid forcing a square peg in a round hole right now. More information will come with time and we’ll have a better understanding of what is needed moving forward.

If you have planets or angles within the first few degrees (0º - 5º ish) of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) Venus’ movement into Aries sparks the longer transit of Saturn/Neptune’s transit of your planet/angle. Saturn and Neptune move a lot slower and when a faster moving planet comes along and activates this slower moving transit the dust is kicked up and the impact is palpable. ~ I wrote an article last year on Saturn and Neptune and am reminded of it as I’m writing this. In the article I talk about different ways Saturn and Neptune can manifest than I talk about here but it’s such a good read so I highly recommend revisiting it or reading it if you haven’t already! ~

On a societal level we’ve seen Saturn and Neptune’s impact pretty intensely - Saturn represents our governmental structures and Neptune represents the disillusionment and eventual dissolving of those structures (think the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 just days before the last exact conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Capricorn). The influence of these two planets has been building for years and the impact will be felt for many more years but right now we can see how this influence is unfolding - blatant lies and deceit from the current administration here in the US, wars as a smokescreen (so Neptune in Aries coded), releasing some files but not all, using federal agents (unqualified agents, might I add) as enforcers demanding compliance under the guise of immigration… I could go on. Honestly this is a huge topic to talk about here but my point is that as Venus enters Aries and kicks up the dust on this Saturn/Neptune conjunction I expect we’ll see some of these societal and political issues kicked up as well. I’m not a mundane astrologer, so I’ll refrain from predicting exactly how things might unfold, but I am mostly thinking about Venus and her association with values. As I’m writing this I know there have been a number of republicans who have rescinded their support of Donald Trump and MAGA and it makes me wonder if this conjunction will bring more of that - people continuing to wake up to the impact of their vote in 2024 and releasing how the administration goes against one or many of their values. I encourage you to think a lot about your own values this week when you’re posting online, sharing thoughts with friends, etc. how are you living in alignment with your own values? And I don’t mean just politically - also consider how your own relationships and commitments are a reflection of your values - if there is an imbalance, what needs to be done to amend that?
