Welllll... it’s been a minute.

Some of you have probably wondered where the hell I’ve been. Others have been following along quietly while I disappear for a few days, pop back up, disappear again, and then randomly post something that sounds like it came from three cups of coffee and a near spiritual experience.

I feel great, but there’s still so much work to be done to get my life back together. I’ll continue to share my unfiltered journey here as this is my safe space where I can be unfiltered. This Substack is private and I get to control who has access to it. The other one is open to the public and is more about the journey of getting back up as well as other stories.

A word of gratitude because it’s important: thank you for being in my corner and supporting me and my work. I honestly don’t think I’d still be here sharing without it. And I know I wouldn’t be in this current headspace without knowing some BAMFs from all over the world have my back.

I have a feeling this next chapter of life is going to be full of stories, adventures, and a whole lot of hard work and I’m here for it. This is the only place I’ll be sharing the journey for now. If I do end up writing in other spaces, every paid subscriber here will always get an unfiltered front row seat to anything I can share.

Once again, I’ll be phasing out any comps for subscriptions from last year. Those hurricane donations helped a lot of people in my community and they’ll forever be appreciated by me. Even though I stopped hearing from a lot of those people when I hit my own rock bottom. It’s funny how that works. I just use it to make me better, not bitter.

One of the perks of living in Augusta is that a lot of the ANGC caddies live in the area. When the season ends they’ll work at other area clubs or head to other courses, then come back again in the fall.

To me, caddies are the bartenders of golf. They serve you exactly what you need, even when you don’t think it’s what you need. They listen to your tall tales, laugh at your dumb jokes, give you just the right amount of pep talk, and send you on your way at the end with a solid experience without pissing you off. You should tip them well at the end of your time together so the next round will be just as great. And trust, they’ll tell all the other caddies about you and if you may even get a little nickname that you’ll never even know. See, bartenders.
