Rupert Lowe is a British politician who is the leader of the far-right party Restore Britain. In this video Ranjit Singh of Bunga Azaadi offers some commentary on his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, highlighting Lowe’s double standards, hypocrisy and the lack of principles.

This should hopefully educate Sangat about Lowe’s positions more in depth and offer a more focused, nuanced critique of his far-right positions over the more (sub-)standard left-wing approach. Instead, Ranjit Singh tackles Lowe’s rhetoric using his own stated ideology.

Many of you have swallowed the lie that greater civilian access to weapons automatically produces a higher murder rate, blindly pointing the US as an example. But is that actually true?

Both the US and Switzerland have highly armed societies. Around 48% of Swiss households own at least one gun, compared to roughly 42% of American households. Switzerland actually has a higher rate of gun-owning households than the US, yet its homicide rate sits at a microscopic 0.70 per 100,000, against America’s 5.54. Switzerland is not an outlier. Jamaica, Honduras, and Mexico all enforce draconian gun laws, yet they suffer from some of the highest gun violence rates on the planet. Meanwhile, Austria and Switzerland maintain relaxed laws and experience fewer than five gun-related homicides per 100,000 residents. The weapon is not the variable. The people are.

Why the difference? Because weapons do not kill people; people kill people. When handguns were banned in the UK in 1997, did violent crime stop? Research carried out following the implementation of the 1997 Firearms Amendment actually tracked a 40 per cent increase in criminal handgun use within just two years. The broader effect was a massive surge in violent crime, with the UK firearm homicide rate nearly doubling between 1996 and 2002. There was a shooting just this week! Criminals didn’t all change their tools; they just changed their supply lines. They turned to black markets and smuggled weapons, proving that disarmament only strips weapons from the people who actually follow the law. Banning the weapon does not solve criminality.

Additionally, knife restrictions are already widespread across the UK. Has that stopped people from stabbing each other with screwdrivers, garden tools, or, yes, still knives? In the year ending March 2025, there were around 53,000 offences involving a sharp instrument in England and Wales, with blades used in 46% of all homicides. Knife crime has risen 33 per cent since 2011, accounting for nearly 19,000 assaults, over 17,000 robberies, and the use of blades in more than 400 rapes in a single year.

So of course it hasn’t stopped. Because the tool is never the issue. People are, and the Government benefits from this misplaced blame. Governments waste energy on removing liberties from the law-abiding rather than dealing with the root causes of criminality. This goes into a separate topic now, but the Government has been doing this for decades. They are constantly eroding their accountability to the people. Keeping us distracted in superficial social issues, whilst simultaneously consolidating greater power, preying on general ignorance. Which they also manufacture through inadequate education systems they preside over that keep people dumbed down, only good enough to run in the rat race they set for them. Then to get rid of reliance on the tax base, they enabled a system of Central Banking and money printing to finance spending we do not all consent too. In turn causing inflation and funding wars that put us forward as canon fodder.

So bringing it back, if the tool is not the problem, people are, then the question, is how do we stop people from choosing violence against one another, not how do we swap the tools they use to do so. The real drivers of crime are elsewhere entirely: economics, institutional decay, the quality of food and education, and access to healthcare. All of it has been entirely neglected by an unprincipled political class, regardless of party, for decades. Starting a family today is harder than it has ever been. Housing is unaffordable. Groceries cost more every week. These are the exact pressures and desperate conditions that breed crime. Add a broken justice system on top of that, and here we are.

So while I completely understand why people are wary of expanding access to weapons in this chaotic environment, that same environment is precisely what strengthens the case for it. If criminals can seamlessly access weapons, why are law-abiding citizens denied the same right? And in many cases, criminals do not even need weapons. Just the other day, a mob of twenty attacked an elderly family and put them in the hospital with bare hands. Rapes are rising. Home invasions are rising. When the Government continues to fail at its most basic, foundational obligation of providing a safe, secure society, many of us would rather retain the means to defend our own lives.

As the saying I keep repeating goes, “an armed society is a polite society”. Despite everything, I still believe most people are fundamentally decent. Most do not want to kill or harm one another without cause (evidently, its only a rare minority ruining it for everyone). But if good people are armed, those who do intend harm are forced to calculate the immediate cost of their actions. Decades of international data show no consistent evidence that blanket gun control lowers overall violent crime rates. But good Governance does. Don’t take away our liberties, reform the Government.

An armed society is a polite society… not a perfect society. There is an unfortunate cost of having arms proliferated amongst a population, where occasionally there will be rare instances of them being employed in unfortunate circumstances. However, as many of our American brothers and sisters have maturely accepted, this is a price tag that comes with maintaining sovereignty, liberty and a means to contest tyranny if all other methods fail.

The issue the UK has is not that Sikhs get to keep a weapon, it’s that this right is not afforded to all. Sikhs should not be given special privileges in this regard. No group should. To have the means to defend oneself and to bear arms is a human right that should be available to all. Yet, here in the UK, you risk jail time if you even defend your own home from an intruder! This is how the Government can get away with arresting people for mere social media posts as well - you are already weak and run to hand over more power to them like fools.

If there was a culture of arms once again in the UK, combined with adequate education and standards of etiquette (that Britain once had), then perhaps everyone would be far more cautious when deciding to deploy a weapon, or even enter an altercation in the first place. And when the need arises, and both parties consent (in the presence of credible third party witnesses or a court of law), then perhaps a professional duel could be arranged - as they once used to!

It’s not like Sikhs are the only ones who actually carry weapons in the UK today anyway. We may be permitted in the law, but that does not prevent many groups carrying all sorts of weaponry. But some of these groups tend to concentrate in certain urban areas, amongst criminals whom will not follow the law regardless. Those of more upstanding character rarely will have access to weaponry in the unfortunate circumstance that they come across one of these types. Again, another Government failure in their inability to police these regions. But the solution isn’t “banning knives/guns”, that hasn’t worked because the tool being used is not the problem. The problem is the culture that encourages young men to readily choose violence in response to disagreement. It’s the economy itself that fails to provide alternative pathways for these people to exert effort, to build families, become employed or even employers.

Think. Given how many Sikhs are armed, you’d expect there to be far more tragic cases like the one with Digwa and Nowak - but there isn’t. Why is that? Because, as Sikhs, we have developed a culture around weaponry that is baked into our DNA since our inception. We worship weapons as saints, we respect them. To misuse one is a grave sin, that is known amongst the vast majority of us. Just ask a Sikh. This does not mean there is not going to be a minority of situations where certain individuals fail. The majority of situations where individuals don’t fail is naturally overlooked.

This whole attitude of over-generalising and using edge cases as justifications to curb liberties needs to stop. The same way how when a far right rapist attacked an innocent Sikh women on her way home, do we now ban right wingers from existing? That they are no longer allowed to express their frustrations and demand change?

No, we recognise it for what it is. An edge case that does not reflect the whole right, despite what the (far-)left may say (especially given their own minority of depraved fools). Same way how not all right-wingers are “far right” either.

But, many of those on both the right and the left fail to recognise how easily they are played. Social issues are used as fuel to heat the fire of hatred and distrust amongst the population so that they go running to the Government to remove freedoms from the other side, not realising this is how Governments have grew in influence and scope in the first place at the expense of liberty for all.

This is why the UK is in the situation it is in today. Too much power concentrated in too few people, and so when they make wrong decisions, it affects everyone more completely. It’s a classic case of putting your eggs in one basket.

Governments thrive off being the sole monopoly on force in a region. It’s how they can get away with so much degeneracy. From central banking as a concept, incompetent justice systems, faulty immigration policies, engaging in foreign wars off the back of lies that no one agrees with, to illogical tax policies that drive away wealth and wealth creators, and to top it off, elite pedophile rings operating at the highest levels.

These all persist because a population is kept weak, subservient and squabbling amongst themselves, competing with one another to remove their own freedoms. The Government creates issues, and places itself as the resolver of them. And you all fall for it every single time.

None of this is to excuse Digwa or justify the death of Nowak. It is truly a tragedy. But we don’t call for a ban cars whenever there is an accident. At the same time, as Sikhs, and particularly the Khalsa, we should be better at self-regulating ourselves so even these rare cases are even more rare than they currently are.

We have some ideas around this that I may share later on that ties into wider Khalsa structuring and a project we wish to launch later this year. Additionally, Sikhs should start supporting existing firearms and hunting lobbies in the UK too.

Just as in a doctor’s office there are many different diseases present; just as a fever of warmth, cold weather, and a cold fever, there are numerous varieties of illnesses.

ਤੈਸੇ ਵੈਦ ਰੋਗੀ ਕੀ ਨਾਟਕਾ ਲਘੀ ਦੇਖ ਕਰ ਜੈਸਾ ਤਾਪ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੈਸਾ ਅਉਖਧ ਦੇਤੇ ਹੈ ॥ ਤਾ ਰੋਗੀ ਕਾ ਰੋਗ ਕਟਿਆ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ ॥
In this manner, a doctor in looking at the pulse and fluids prescribes the appropriate medicine for that illness, and through this manner he alleviates the illness that is suffered by the ill patient.

ਤੇ ਜੋ ਅਜਾਣ ਵੈਦ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤਾ ॥ ਰੋਗ ਅਵਰ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਰ ਅਉਖਧ ਔਰ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ ॥
An uneducated doctor will not be able to relieve the illness of the patient. The illness will be of one kind and he will prescribe an irrelevant medicine.

ਤੈਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜੋ ਹੈਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੇ ਵਚਨਾ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਅਰ ਕਰਮਾ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਪਛਾਣਦੇ ਹੈਨ ॥ ਰਸਨਾ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਕਾ ਮਤ ਮਲੂਮ ਹੋਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
In this manner, the Saints and Servants (of Hari) pay attention to the words and actions (of the Sikh). In looking at their words, they come to know the inner understanding of their heart.

If you desire standardisation, first standardise yourself by standing on your own principles. If you wish others to follow your standards, then first display compelling results by applying them to your own life.

Then you may form a Misl, set a Maryada and issue Rehats as a structured way to participate for Sangat who wish to join you. Entry and exit must be voluntary since this is what keeps you accountable. If you modify your standards in a way that doesn’t satisfy your Sangat, they will leave for another Misl that can, or form their own.

If you don’t modify your standards to keep up with the times and circumstances you are in, then this too is a failure as your standards become increasingly irrelevant and inapplicable.

However, there are guardrails to this. If you wish to attract a Sikh Sangat, then your standards must be derived from your interpretation of GurBani and Itihaas. Otherwise if you seek a Muslim Sangat, derive from the Qur’an and Hadith.

The level of attraction to your Misl from your intended target audience determines your validity in their eyes and hopefully your own too.

In this way Guru Panth and Guru Granth work in tandem.

I think overall, Mamdani himself is a symptom of a problem, not the problem all by himself. The reason why he could secure the position that he did is the exact same reason why Trump did too. Economic imbalance and degradation over decades squeezes the common person, so much so, that radical change is demanded. It doesn’t matter what that change is, so much as it matters that it must at least appear radically different (to the previous regime - people have short memories).

Yet, both Mamdani and Trump are entities across the x-axis of conservatism vs progressivism on social issues whilst simultaneously trend upwards on the y-axis towards authoritarianism, where in reality the solution is downwards towards libertarianism, regardless of personal stances on social matters (x-axis).

These systems are aching for change, and quite justifiably so. But the participants are continually fooled into illusions of solutions because actual solutions require more than emotions and a sound education on matters that lead to conclusions that seem unintuitive on the surface. And this is the challenge.

If a Sikh candidate rises in full awareness of this landscape, then they may be able to propel themselves into power if they navigate strategically. They must be charismatic (like Trump/Mamdani) but rational (unlike Trump/Mamdani). They should also be educated and well versed in both Sikhi and Statecraft, beyond just the watered down, hobbyist Sikhi many cosplayers seem to adopt, but neither a kind of militant Sikhi that is too rigid and uncompromising. The Gurus are great guidance on getting this balance right, because (whilst I am indeed biased, I am a Sikh of the Guru after all) they did indeed get it right. This Sikh statesman must also possess a sound understanding of modern economics at a higher priority than political theory (both are necessary, but one should come before the other). Your political ideology must be moderated by economic understanding, and that in turn is anchored in your spirituality.

Now, I have already made a contribution towards outlining a Sikhi-based political-economic philosophy with Azadism, as detailed in the Azadist Manifesto and other works in our Vichaar Repository at BungaAzaadi.com and our Substack. So a lot of the ideological work has been done already if a Sikh statesman seeking power wishes to use it.

If Bunga Azaadi was in a more developed state, the task of developing and support a candidate would have been a great task for us. The Bunga would be in a position to help advise and guide an aspiring Sikh statesman, working out ways to build compelling narratives that hit the correct pain points, engage in rhetoric and polemics, but also communicate genuinely economically sound solutions to issues in a way that is not too academic and still relatable and understandable for the lay person.

Milton Friedman was a great example of an individual who was charismatic but also rational, however, unfortunately, he never entered politics directly himself. He had a little too much faith in democracy, instead believing he’d have more effect as a mass educator. And to his credit, he did indeed have a deep impact during his time, informing the trajectories of entire nation-states like Estonia and Chile. He also was responsible for lifting the mandatory draft in the US and advised Reagan during his term as president leading to one of the most prosperous periods in US history. But it wasn’t perfect of course. If only Reagan heeded Friedman more completely, but understandably, there are many influences beyond economists applying pressure to that position.

Which points to a wider issue that nation-states are just too large a political unit to be managed effectively for long. I personally take the view that the city-state is the ideally sized polity. If you get lucky with a competent and intelligent autocrat, you can really accelerate development as well. Just as was the case with Singapore who was led by the iron-willed Lee Kuan Yew (my favourite dictator). There are few other candidates in recent and current history that are worth noting as well: Thomas Massie, Ron Paul, Pierre Poilievre and perhaps most surpassingly, Javier Melei (who, despite all odds, actually succeeded to presidency).

But behind all these individuals are an eco-system of think tanks, research institutes and independent, private bodies that support and help shape their thinking. This is true across the political spectrum. Even Kier Starmer is a member of the infamous Fabian Society, which had also influenced Nehru’s socialism and central planning policies in his India nation-state project.

As a Bunga, we have already developed similar works to many of these think tanks in terms of intellectual output and establishing coherent positions to work off from. Again, as mentioned, Azadism is our core product offering designed explicitly for a generation of Sikh Statecrafters. And we are perhaps one of the only Sikh institutions on the planet at the moment to do so, but hopefully not the last (nor are we the first, since we ourselves are heavily influenced by the Anandpur Darbar of Guru Gobind Singh). What this allows us to do is apply coherent principles to design consistent policies that work in tandem with one another. As opposed to disjointed emotion-based policy planning ignorant to any sound principles whatsoever. If we can combine the knowledge base we have been building and refining with the talent and charisma of an aspiring Sikh politician, then that may truly be a winning formula.

However, we may be too early to serve such an advisory role for now, largely because, whilst we may have the substance, we don’t yet fully have the infrastructure around it. I simply do not have the time or bandwidth at the moment to take on such a thing. Many of us in the Bunga are working full-time jobs, applying skillsets and time that would have ideally been deployed for Panthic progress, instead being utilised by others. Rather than of building our own empires, we Sikhs are busy building corporate empires of our employers.

This problem, unless solved, is the primary reason why Sikhs do not have meaningful Raaj today and will not any time soon. The Gurus, whom themselves engaged in statecraft since the time of Guru Nanak, elevated a population of spiritual-statecrafters in their Sikhs. But Sikhs today in large part neither want to nor are even aware that this is what they have been designed for. Instead, they simply view Sikhi as “Sikhism”, a “religion” or at best a spiritual pursuit, forgetting that this was a Miri-Piri movement from the start. This means that en masse, Sikhs today do not recognise any obligation like they once had in supporting institutions or institution builders (like the human Gurus), who are devoted to the task of advancing Sikh statecraft. Instead, they throw their Dasvandh at the feet of “Gurudwara” committees dangling non-compliant Guru Granth Sahib Birhs over their heads as bait to build funds with, only to waste those funds building more halls to operate (P)Akhand Paath businesses mumble rapped by imported Granthis that no one listens to or wedding halls to perpetuate the wedding cult modern Sikhism has become.

Where are funds for organisations and projects like Bunga Azaadi? It isn’t coming from the patronage of Sikh temples and the money they collect from Sangat who donate there blindly. It is coming from the donations of the minority of Sikh Sangat who are aware and wish to live up to their status as GurSikhs. They bypass masandic hierarchies, recognise the Khalsa as Guru, and put their money where they believe the change they want to see is represented and being advanced. And they do this with full consciousness that if ever a project they support stops performing, they will withdraw their commitment and rightfully so! We should be held accountable by the Sikh Sangat, and our rate of support is a key metric to determine our performance. But for some reason, Sikhs switch off their brains completely when entering certain Sikh spaces, when that is meant to be the time you are most cognisant and aware.

Projects like the Bunga, are also supported by non-Sikhs. How? Because whilst we may be disgruntled that we are spending our time and efforts outside the Panth, we do so in return for a regular salary. We work full-time for others so we can make money for ourselves, our families and then any Panthic projects we’d like to do. Therefore, our employers contribute more towards the development of Khalsa Raaj than 99% of Sikhs do!

So, the last element in supporting our institutions is profit-generating ventures. Many of the projects we’d like to pursue are simply economically unviable, and if you want something to be sustainable, then you must establish an economy for it. So this is why we have set up a CIC, and are prioritising certain projects that both have a material impact in furthering our Bunga’s Grand Strategy for Khalsa Raaj, but can also stand on its own two feet economically. You can check out projects like the Sikh Investors Club, Arta Labs, the Azaad Debate Society and more to come. But they all have the same bottleneck that it all currently depends on voluntary efforts from Sevadars who wish donate their Dasvandh through non-monetary means (i.e their time, effort and expertise).

Hopefully, these projects grow large enough one day that allows us to pay for people’s time and employ them to work in the Panth, for the Panth, but we are far from that. So in the meantime, we continue to work for others, refine our philosophies and strategies, and iterate through trial and error in order to build MVPs for various projects.

This means that certain projects — like developing Sikh politicians who are more than dressed-up mouthpieces for other’s talking points and broken party ideologies, propped up for token representation to appeal to Sikh vote banks because “he looks like me” — remain a distant prospect. Until Sikhs reorganise their priorities and incentive structures, such work could be a decade away at this rate using the methods above. But every conscious contribution of your Dasvandh, or purchase of our outputs, brings that deadline closer.

I wish to relay this because many people request my attention and support for various things, and it blows my mind how many projects, opportunities, collaborations I have to turn down or delay, simply because I don’t have the time to spare. I am already at full capacity and there is a real risk of burnout if I keep taking more and more on. But I am really grateful to those of you who have stepped up to support me and take up roles and Seva across the Bunga. It has also helped to map out a Grand Strategy where we can set priorities for projects and allocate time and attention in the seasons rather than do it all in one go. But the more help and support we can get, the better. Each new Sevadar helps accelerate the progress of things and makes what I wanted to get done decades down the line, at least get started much earlier. Which means the legacy we are leaving for the next generations to pick up from is much more solid and complete. Those Sikhs will be able to get to a position faster where they can secure Raaj and put an end to unnecessary suffering faster. The effort we put in today will hopefully allow the future Khalsa to scale Degh Tegh Fateh wider and greater. This is how my mind operates. I am fully aware that every day we waste as the Khalsa today, is another day tyranny wins and liberty, sovereignty and justice is delayed. If we can even accelerate progress by one day, that is one day’s worth of unnecessary suffering we can prevent.

Now, bringing it back to the original topic of this piece, let’s briefly entertain a vision for what Sikhs could have been doing if we had our act together. Mamadani will continue to implement his nonsense policies to whatever degree he has power to do. When New Yorkers realise that this made no meaningful improvement (and perhaps further degrades) their quality of life, then when it comes around to the next election cycle they will once engage in the pantomime to seek change. This may likely lead to a republican/conservative candidate instead (as the pendulum swings), so if we were preparing for this eventuality it becomes imperative we have a Sikh candidate enter that party now and begin building the necessary connections. During this time, the Bunga would be able to support his or her preparation with the ideological backing needed to fit within the republican scope, but solid on the Azadist principles (which can be applied to both progressive and conservative leanings). The candidate would need to have the right personality traits to be paired with this knowledge, and if so, we’d be able to replicate Mamdani’s approach but instead of the socialist basis, we have our own Sikhi-grounded, Azadist basis instead.

Disclaimer:

They may not be speaking for all of Sikhi or Sikhs. They may simply be saying, that this is what their particular Samparda, sect, offshoot tradition believes in and it is that which they are relaying, not the only standard Sikh position that is allowed. In this video Ranjit Singh of Bunga Azaadi weighs in on the NKJ Harinder issue, and offers an invite to host a trial investigating the claims further in a professional setting. Whilst we know Harinder is unlikely to accept the offer, this Vichaar hopefully provides a useful perspective for the Sangat and the Guru Khalsa to consider nonetheless.

We also cover and re-iterate the Khalsa's status as Guru, and by extension, the illegitimacy of the Pujaris residing at the Akaal Takht building posturing as Popes who can issue mandates and rulings on behalf of the Panth.

Some are so blindly anti-West and anti-Zionist, they lament the death of a tyrant who brutally oppressed innocent people.

The only thing I lament is that the Khalsa did not get him first and earlier. Now, it looks like Iran will be taken by others (although, let’s see, even this is no guarantee), where it should have been a target for Khalsa Imperialism, an Imperialism that would have truly served the interests of the people, enabled prosperity and distributed power to each and every Iranian to pursue their own destiny.

I hope the West will be able to fulfil at least some steps towards that rather than establish a fake facade of “development” that is really just a nice face they show the world whilst they plunder and exploit beneath the surface. But given the track record of Western imperialists, I doubt it. It may even just turn out to become a long, protracted war that further decimates the region and plunges the population into generational poverty. All the while, still expropriating the wealth.

However, in a better case scenario, perhaps a pro-West puppet government (provided it’s stable enough, which is a big assumption) would at least mean that people are out of under the thumb of radical Sharia/Islamic law. Many may now be more free to officially leave Islam, connect back to their Persian roots and culture that was there before the Islamic invasion, or even consider new ideas.

In such an environment, maybe Sikhs can more freely re-enter the region and form genuine connections with the people. The Khalsa is an Indo-Persian synthesis after all, so being able to connect with Iranians and build upon potential synergies may be strategic to one day revive an Indo-Persian culture, leading to the emergence of an Indo-Persian Empire led by the Khalsa. That may form a key holding of a wider Khalsa Raaj that Sikhs around the world declare intent for in their Ardaas each and every day.

What Is Khalsa Imperialism?

So for those of you thinking “that sounds like a fantasy”, then stop saying “Raaj Karega Khalsa” in your Ardaas you hypocrites! If you don’t aspire for a Khalsa Raaj that expands across the world(s), then stop blindly repeating it!

The Guru has urged us to possess large ambitions, and as a Sikh of the Guru I intend to set my dream as that, and as a member of the Khalsa, and thus as part of the Guru, since the Khalsa is the Guru, I intend to work towards that goal with my Sangat as much as we possibly can in our lifetimes. Whilst we may not be able to fully materialize the space empire we envision any time soon, we can at least plant the seeds of trees that we may not in our lifetimes tastes the fruits of, but the next generations will. But depending on your support as a Sangat today, we may be able to sit in their shade.

The Khalsa needs to modernise. We as Sikhs must rebuild hard power and soft power, and once again get into positions of real influence and capability. The beauty of our Grand Strategy is that this can all be done legally, ethically and effectively. If you support us as a Bunga, we will try our best to change how Sikhs and the Khalsa operate over the next hundred years. No longer will be some fringe religious group, insular and isolated, but instead deeply embedded as value generators in whatever societies we reside in. We will change the reputation of Khalsa so that it becomes known by all, that wherever Sikhs of the Guru settle, prosperity, justice and liberty soon follow. Not just for us, but for the welfare of all mankind (Sarbat Da Bhalla).

So, follow along as we make effort to realising this vision. Hopefully this shows how disagreements should be conducted in the Panth.

In this video, Ranjit Singh of Bunga Azaadi reacts to a reel posted by Kamalpreet Singh of Sikhism in Snippets, in turn as a reaction to the news of a Sikh allegedly converting to Islam. Kamalpreet lists through various positions that he believes contributes to the increase in doubt in the Panth. One of the positions was a unique one of Ranjit Singh’s, so he felt obligated to defend and relay that position in full, as well as offer further commentary on the other positions as well.

Note: This was recorded before last week’s attempts at cancellations by certain “Sikh” organisations aiming to censor us, and subsequent threats of violence that were received if the event we were asked to speak at was not cancelled (which is still going ahead).

To be clear, Sikhism In Snippets was not a part of any of that to our knowledge, and despite the disagreement here, he is someone we deeply respect and are grateful for his Seva. We hope this video can show case to Sangat a better way to conduct disagreement compared to cowardly death threats.

First the sword was created, and with that sword a line in the sand was drawn. On one side was Dharam and on the other Adharam. Everyone when they come into this world, this Leela, are entering a battlefield. Ever since that day, and every day since, you must choose which side of that line you stand on. Neutrality is not an option. Either you stand for Dharam or against it.

On the 18th February 2026, I, Ranjit Singh of Bunga Azaadi issued a statement condemning the cowardly use of violent threats and leaking of a family's home address to intimidate Sikh university students to pressure them to cancel an event I was attending.

Earlier that month, the same students received pressure from individuals affiliated with certain named Sikh organisations, hoping using their reputations as leverage. This backfired though since the students took a principled stand against censorship, thereby honouring the legacy of figures like Guru Tegh Bahadur and Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra who also stood up for freedom of speech and thought and against injustice. These students proved themselves as real GurSikhs in this moment.

Not too long after this, two of the student organisers received threatening phone calls, telling them they had three days to cancel the event of have “their legs cut off”, and one of them was told his home address and further had his family threatened if he did not comply at the end of the three days. This was suspected to be a hollow threat, and after the three days passed and nothing happened, then the bluff lost all weight.

After which I released a statement which mentioned some of the aforementioned "Sikh" organisations directly, demanding they condemn such lowly Mughal tactics. Instead of three days, I gave them 24 hours (even though a true GurSikh would not even need one hour to condemn such degeneracy). The organisations I mentioned, were mentioned publicly and contacted privately as well, each failed to issue condemnation.

When Sikh students were threatened you said nothing and buried your head in the sand. I remember when I was at university you told us we weren't allowed to mention 3 topics: Dasam Bani, Meat and Raagmala. All 3 are now more prominent than ever. You're whole strategy of ignoring issues failed back then and it failed once again now. Maybe it is time for new Sikh Society support groups…

"Singhs" Camp (Devanhaar)

Are you running a camp or a cult? When the time came to prove your status as Singhs you failed. Consider changing your name to Masand Camp, since all you do is bring Sangat to join you larping and cosplaying as Singhs. Before handing people bows and foam-tip arrows to play with, how about teach virtue and honour first.

Saving Punjab

Irony is thick with this one. Some of your admins would tell me all sorts complaints about Neo-Khalistanis, sharing my frustrations with them to my face, but showing another face to them. But even when their director is going through censorship himself, they refused to condemn censorship in this situation. But this hypocrisy I expected, since Gurpreet was also instrumental in calling for my cancelation at Southall Gurudwara last year as well. It is hypocrisy at its finest.

About a year before Gurpreet was sanctioned by the UK government for his involvement in terrorism, I had a meeting with him to go through an earlier iteration of our Grand Strategy for Khalsa Raaj as a Bunga. As part of that a key section revolved around the infeasibility of armed struggle as a viable tactic for today, instead suggesting legal, ethical and more effective routes to success. At the time Gurpreet nodded along and expressed his agreement. I had also previously commended him for his data-based approach with Saving Punjab, and after he read the Azadist Manifesto, he made the efforts to meet with me and dicuss further.

After my presentation, he was very enthusiastic about working together and getting my ideas in front of people of supposed influence. He said that he had to run this by the other admins of course, so we agreed to meet again the following week so I could present the same presentation to them. That never happened. After about a month or two of chasing him on this, I stopped trying. Later in the year, the next time I see him is as part of a video call with Southall Gurudwara committee where he takes the side of the Neo-Khalistanis (which prior to that, I did not class him as one).

We suspect a main reason for this is because he was told to disengage with me as I have previously been critical of the AKJ, calling it a cult and explaining how their format of Kirtan is Beadbi to the Shabad Guru and counters our Guru's Raag tradition. He told me on that call that further Vichaar was needed (something that again, never happened, even after he called me privately the next day to apologise to me and offered mediation between me and my enemies), and that I should not be able to talk in any Gurudwara unless I get their permission.

So, I hope the current situation you find yourselves in is just a huge misunderstanding. I really do not hope you were part of the others in that Masand camp who had previously bragged about their involvement in financing such things to me, back when I was on good terms with them. As we both agreed on, there was no logical step-by-step that conducting random attacks on civilian infrastructure, targeting non-combatants or even actual "hits" on those who may deserve it in India leads to a Khalistan. Or were you lying to me, just like you lied about being a neutral party between me and the Neo-Khalistani Masands you sided with to censor my speech?

I recognise that in this specific instance, admins of Saving Punjab may not have been involved in calling for my cancelation at QMUL Sikh Soc. However, lower rank volunteers of yours have been engaged in Nindiya and called for my cancelation, seemingly using your organisation's name as weight to throw about. You need to reign in your guys, or have them respectfully get in touch so we can work through any disagreements he has professionally (as I offered this specific individual over a year ago last time we did Vichaar over face time, where he was very much respectful back then).

Basics of Sikhi

By far the biggest disappointment, but for many of us, not a surprising one at this point. They've been going down hill for a while now, it is simply not the same organisation as the one Bhai Jagraj Singh left. Many of the elements Bhai Ji sought to keep out have managed to weasel themselves in and hijack the organisation. Those who now use and abuse the platform he built previously would threaten him with violence too when he did not align with them. Many of the Basics OGs recognise this tragedy. We have sat together, shared meals and Vichaar with each other, and the stories they have told me makes me sad to see what Basics has become.

Where there would once be lectures on things like Khalsa PMCs (which inspired our Dharam Yudh Pipeline, Misl Net and upcoming Mislisation projects), now you have lectures on keeping your Kachera on in the shower.

Basics is not the same. You stopped representing Sikhi a long time ago. You may as well change your name to Basics of (Neo-)Taksal or Basics of AKJ.

This is an open invite to anyone from Basics to come and join us at Bunga Azaadi instead, where we actually work to keep Bhai Jagraj Singh’s vision alive. Just as he inspired many of us to come into Sikhi, we in turn with to inspire those Sikhs to become Khalsa, engage in Dharam Yudh and advance the cause of Khalsa Raaj.

What can even be said at this point to they who lack sense and shame?

Conclusion

Many of you may be surprised, confused, but above all, disappointed. But I am glad many of you are now waking up to what many of us already realised a long time ago. There is some real moral decadence affecting parts of this Panth that needs to be contested and told how they behave is no longer acceptable. They can not keep getting away behaving like this like they used to over a decade ago.

Just to be clear, though, I am not accusing the organisations mentioned for being responsible for that call. But it was members of their organisation who were pushing for the initial cancellation and have previously attempted to silence and censor us as well, with threats of violence in cases. After being told "no" by a resource they thought they could control, the mysterious caller made his brave (faceless and anonymous) voice heard (via a burner phone). And given the fact that the target of the threat with the home address was a Sevadar in your own camp (the one who told you "no"), it begs the question, "who gave the caller his address?".

The Sangat are not stupid and can make their own judgements. None of these organisations were asked to accept or deny blame, just to condemn such actions in principle. It is their failure to condemn that speaks volumes about the quality of their Daya and Dharam (or lack thereof).

Sevadars serving them should be aware that there is a possibility that they too could be used in future in the same manner. The Seva you do for them does not account for anything if what we are deducing here is true. Organisations should also be wary of who they are letting in and representing them, because ultimately they pay the price.

Additionally, some student Sikh societies have also become concerned in general about hosting certain organisations like ours, and I'll be sharing a direct message to them all soon to try and help ease their fears. I will let them know that they have our support, and that of our partners, when the organisations mentioned today evidently don't care. Open condemnation from your organisations would have done much to calm fears and showcase to everyone such actions are not tolerated. However, the support of the Saadh Sangat and other genuine Sikh organisations and figures, who condemned and offered support, even without being asked to or obligated to, I believe they have substituted you. They are now the real Panth in my eyes.

Which brings me on to the final point I wish to raise before we conclude this episode:

Thank you to all those who reached with support, privately and publicly. We were not expecting the response that we had, especially since this wasn't the first time something like this has happened. But it is an important metric for us as a Bunga to measure since it helps us assess the long overdue shift this Panth needs to start getting back in gear and pursue our Guru-given purpose as a people.

We have huge external threats and challenges to deal with as a Panth, but it's not useful when those who claim to be your own people pull you down and become barriers. Blaming an enemy for failure is like blaming gravity for a plane crash. We already know enemies are at our gate, that is expected. What is not helpful though is when Moorakhs within our walls sabotage us and open the gates. We can blame the enemy all we like, but we need to make sure what we do in preparation for them is solid. Simply looking the part is not enough. You must prove your place in the Panth through action.

I have much more to say on this topic (surprisingly, given how much I've said so far), and a lot more we're sitting on that we can expose. But let's leave it here for now. To all our enemies who claim to be in the same Panth we are: keep your guys in line and focus on your work. If you do that, we'll do the same. Some of you were told this last time and I do appreciate how some of you guys have indeed backed off in places and now recognise the pyrrhic nature of contesting us in the dishonourable manner in which you do. But you must control others in your camp otherwise it will blowback directly on you and the reputation of your organisations as it has done here. As I said, there plenty more I can say and show, but I will desist and end it here.

This in turn helps us build a deterrent to keep these Masands in line.
