In the spirit of full disclosure the attached cartoon is an oldie. It was drawn before the midterms 4 years ago. Obviously, it predicted that associating with Trump would bring down the Republican Party in the Midterms.

The bad news? The Republicans didn’t go away, and neither did Trump. My bad. No, YOUR bad. The greater part of the country voted the bottom feeders back in and look what that has accomplished.

As a result the GOP brand is taking a beating as we head towards the ‘26 midterms. Meanwhile, Trump’s poll numbers are ….hem hem….underwater.

Speaking of water, it now seems apt that the cartoon comes on the heels of that clever Donnie the Dickhead’s renaming of Lake Ontario to Lake America. We can only expect that he will also want to rename Washington DC as well. Will it be “Swamp America"? “Cesspool America”? “Pedophilia Pond”? And, wouldn’t it be fitting if Donald tried to rename America? He’d say “Wait! America is already taken! Why, I have something even cleverer: it will be forever named ‘Trumpistan’”.

BUT, dear readers! There is an antidote for the rat poison we have swallowed. It’s called THE VOTE. Just think, we can dumpistan Trumpistan, make nice with our Canadian friends (if they’ll have us back), and hit a reset button for the country. This is a cleansing, redemption opportunity coming up in November.

Let’s not blow it this time because this cartoon needs to be true.

There have been a lot of “Best-President-Ever-Vote-Yes-If-You-Agree” memes floating about the cesspool we call social media lately. It always involves a smug photo of Mr. 47 himself.

Having to choose one might cause a little bit of debate if we had to select between losers like Millard Fillmore, James Buchanan or John Tyler, but “Best President Ever”? Really? I think even Chester A. Arthur would leave Trumpenstein in the dust.

There is one category that King Turdia does excel in, and one that might not cause a lot of debate here, there or anywhere. That category would be “Most Corrupt President Ever”. Yes, that would be a no-brainer, for the current occupant is in a class by himself. In fact, the category should also include the rest of Mafia Donny’s family as well.

Without breaking it down in detail, the whole family is raking in billions of dollars in self enrichment schemes aimed at financial “scratch my back” favors, pay to play schemes, conflicts of interest and insider trading.

Planes, jewelry, Crypto schemes-they’re all on the table. To make matters even stinkier, the president’s private attorney who is now the head of the DOJ wants to indemnify the Trump family from any tax audits from the IRS.

So you get to not only grift but get to cheat on the taxes as well.

The brazen attitude of the crime family shocks almost as much as those in Washington who turn a blind eye to the grift.

This flies in the face of a country that is being damaged by an expensive undeclared war with Iran, massive inflation and a deficit that has now reached a record $40 Trillion.

This administration is hemorrhaging money faster than even the Trump family can grift it if you can believe it. It stinks.

Someone is perpetuating a lie.

The lie, also referred to as “The Big Lie” came about because 45 LOST THE 2020 ELECTION.

Since that time we have seen gerrymandering on an industrial scale, the threat of ICE thugs showing up at the polls, and the SAVE Act, which has been having its problems getting out of the Senate.

It might be appropriate to call it the Save My Presidency Act, as the midterm elections threaten to make Donald Trump not only an orange chicken, but also a lame duck.

Nevertheless, it is the desperation of Trump and his cronies that fear the loss of their power, but also the thought that a newly empowered Democratic Party that holds a majority in the House and/or The Senate could just be the guardrail that could check his Flatulence. When the Donald is threatened, he is dangerous.

Desperation? A few examples of who and what sits on the Oval Office:

• January 6th. When Trump motivated a mob to prevent certifying the 2020 election. You’ll recall that they wanted to hang the Vice President, Mike Pence.

• A telephone call on January 2, 2021 U.S. president Donald Trump pressured Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes" and overturn the U.S. election results from the 2020 presidential election. His exact quote? "What I want to do is this. I just want to find, uh, 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state."

• Repeated attempts by the Administration to get voter rolls from the states. The demands have been challenged (and lost) on 20 occasions in court, and the Trump Administration is continuing to threaten to take this to the Supreme Court under the leadership of his new AG, Todd Blanche. You’ll recall that per the US Constitution, elections fall under the umbrella of the states, not the Federal Government.

• Earlier this year a federal court issued a preliminary injunction blocking the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) from implementing President Trump’s 2026 executive order restricting mail voting, in a case brought by a coalition of nonpartisan voting rights groups. Weaponizing the mailman? Really?

• Maybe this gem from July 2024 while speaking to a group called Turning Point Action: “Christians, get out and vote, just this time. “You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians.”

He added: “I love you Christians. I’m a Christian (This writer would suggest that the wannabe Messiah is really just a CHINO-CHristian in Name Only). I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again, we’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote,” Trump said.

When “Trump” and “fix” are used in the same sentence, it’s time to call lawyers.

Where has Stephen Miller been lately?

He has been and the down low so to speak, flying under the radar.

Nevertheless, he can’t stay out of the limelight for too long, because his obsession with ridding this country of anyone who doesn’t look or speak like him has been working in overdrive.

Look a little closer and you’ll see that the arrests are up, the detention centers are growing, the deaths are mounting, the cruelty is ongoing and the courts are overwhelmed with immigration cases.

In a Gestapo world, he’d be Employee of the Month for every month but January of this year when ICE agents actively murdered US citizens in the streets of Minneapolis. Barring the assassinations, Miller would have been a shoo-in.

Most recently we saw His Corpulency roll yet out another executive order targeting birthright citizenship and birth tourism. While the president held up the words, they were Stephen Miller’s brainchild. He still very much has an apartment inside the Trumpstain’s brain.

If Miller had his way, he’d recast the Emma Lazarus poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty:

"Give me your tired, your poor,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
And I’ll kick their sorry asses out the door!"

Where is Karma when we need it?

Today Todd Blanche, acting Director of the DOJ will be sworn in as the latest Cabinet disaster for the Trump Administration.

It is more likely that the majority of Americans are swearing AT the thought of Trump’s personal lawyer becoming the head of the Justice Department. Americans might also be swearing at the spineless, ethically challenged Senate itself who have become nothing more than a rubber stamp for an out-of-control president and his bobble-headed toadies.

In fact, we would recommend a new sign at security before you enter the Senate Chambers that might just read: “Please surrender your spines and souls before entering these hollowed halls”.

This was on full display when the one vote that pushed Blanch’s confirmation over the edge came from a senator who argued that he was voting for the devil you know. You mean there’s someone who could be worse? Really? Why not say, “Not good enough! Bring us someone who is serious about Justice”? Make them do better.

OK, silly thought. They can’t do better.

Blanche is the same fellow who was the Mafia Don’s personal lawyer before coming on board to the DOJ. He offered Ghislane Maxwell a sweetheart deal to enter a low security women’s prison despite the horrific sex trafficking crimes she had committed. He has also overseen the systematic blockage of information concerning the Epstein files, fired non compliant prosecutors, continued to support retribution prosecutions of people like James Comey, and had the temerity to offer a $1.776 BILLION slush fund for Americans who felt badly treated by the US government.

Yes, this could include the January 6 crew of traitors.

Blanche also offered Trump and his family protection from the IRS which is akin to handing the foxes a key to the proverbial henhouse. It’s the ultimate get-out-of-jail free card.

Blanche met a little opposition from Senators Tillis and Cornyn, but got a written assurance that Blanche wouldn’t do those things, so they caved. This is not to say that Trump will just pursue another Executive Order negating Blanch’s assurances so that both the slush fund and IRS protection is back on the table.

So Todd Blanche will be free to abuse the American justice system with the blessing of Papa Don. Meanwhile, we learn that under this administration Justice is off with a bottle of Jack and is getting blind.

There was the resounding scream from Congress, and especially the Senate when acting Attorney General Todd Blanche proposed a $1.776 Billion slush fund to appease citizens who felt hardly done by their government. Attached to that little package was an assurance that Pedant Trump, the Grifter-in-Chief and his family would all be given immunity from audits by the IRS.

Senators were seemingly appalled that taxpayer money could potentially be used to provide restitution for people who attacked the capitol on January 6th. The self righteous representatives cried “FOUL” and they gnashed their teeth mightily.

It may have been one of the rare moments when you could get unanimous bi-lateral agreement from both Republicans and Democrats (and any American with a functioning brain) that this was a proposal that needed to be scrapped.

That was then, and this is now.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is now in front of the Senate having assured Senators Tillis and Cornyn that they would get something in writing about the slush fund’s removal being more than a moot point.

Sidebar: You don’t want to take an Administration member’s word for it? Oh, that’s right, they are never to believed nor trusted. We have virtually every confirmation hearing from this sorry lot that is chocker block full of steaming horse pucky from each and every one of Trump’s cabinet to support that assertion.

So Todd Blanche’s nomination has moved from the Judiciary Committee, and he is now being considered to become Attorney General in more than an acting capacity.

Somehow, the added provision about having the IRS Audit protection of the Trump family still seems to be floating around like a bad smell, and a Trump lackey as the new AG would also put the slush fund back in play as well.

“Trump has spoken it, thus it is so!” You can check that line, it’s in the Trump Bible somewhere unless it has been redacted (available for $4,995.00 from a shyster near you).

So this IRS audit clemency? Yes, this is a license to steal.

Where’s the self righteous angst now?

Ironic, that Trump has failed in virtually every business he has run, but in the business of fleecing the American public he has finally struck gold.

Outrageous. That’s the word that keeps orbiting this brain since reports of a government blitzkrieg was systematically launched on communities right after His Rotundity was inaugurated a little over a year ago. Assaults on residents of Washington DC, LA, Chicago and Minneapolis began. Break the word down “outrageous” a little and the word “rage” becomes the active emotion that seeps its way into the discussion.

Imagine this: Armed bands of faceless agents in unmarked cars have systematically gone after what the administration claims are vicious criminal aliens. The agents bravely hide their identity. They are the urban terrorists in our community that inspires fear and loathing in communities across the US.

Anyone who isn’t outraged should take a long look at themselves in the mirror,

Thousands upon thousands have been incarcerated, arrested and deported-all at the behest of a wannabe dictator and Stephen Miller.

Despite the outward change in tone when Kristi Noem and Greg Bovino were unceremoniously dumped following the assassinations of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, nothing has changed at ICE or the Department of Homeland Security. The new management is still hell bent on fulfilling it’s quota of thousands of arrests a week using the same bullying tactics on local residents.

That changed recently when two more murders occurred. One was in Texas and the other in sleepy little Biddeford, Maine. Family men shot in their vehicles. No independent investigation, no transparency from the FBI, DHS or ICE. As far as we know, they are getting away with murder.

The Trump Administration can scream “communist” or ANTIFA as much as they like but the real thugs in this country are being funded with your taxpayer dollars and they represent US.

And don’t be surprised when they start coming after more than Latino men women and children. They could just be coming after you.

You’ll see attached a short video from Jolin Bloom of ICE in Fremont, Nebraska. It’s just a stone’s throw from us. The poor guy they nicked was off trying to do his laundry. How’s that for an arch criminal?

Phew! It was so gratifying to wake up this morning to hear that last night’s speech from the Oval Office didn’t call out the National Guard, didn’t arm Homeland Security agents or ask ICE to expand arrests or shoot anyone that doesn’t agree with the president.

The speech’s genesis seemed to have been provoked by El Flatulento’s tanking numbers in the polls, failing strategy with Iran, and surging costs. Instead of describing any solutions he sowed doubt about the Midterm elections.

Yes, it was just King Midas using his bully pulpit to spread lies and misinformation to the American public about election integrity (it’s hard to use the word “integrity” and “Trump” in the same sentence). At the end of the whine it was less bully pulpit and mostly bull.

The Punditry class has done an admirable job of outlining all the lies following the speech. Without getting into the weeds, Trump’s talk was just another exercise in spreading doubt and division where it doesn’t exist while screaming at lawmakers to pass the Save (my ass) Act.

The fact is, the Tangerine Turd is becoming a dangerous fool. He looked and sounded pathetic, but to dismiss him now would be a mistake. It sounds like this is just the setup for a cornered animal. The Big Lie might be morphing into the Big Coup.

Ty Cobb laid it out well for us: “Well, I think tonight’s speech is intended to add the predicate that he needs to declare an emergency at or about the time of the elections.

As you know, Steve Bannon and Todd Blanche have suggested that there will be ICE agents at the polls. I think that that’s a virtual certainty. Whether that will include the National Guard or not, we don’t know, but anything to -- anything to intimidate minority voters, particularly immigrant voters, and also I think anything that allows them to try to seize voting machines, as Trump wanted to do in 2020, but Bill Barr explained to him there was just no basis for it.

I think you will see him doing everything he can to try to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, the election of Democrats, and do whatever he can to remain in power and to keep his cronies in power, so that he can continue doing what he thinks he’s allowed to do as president, which is anything he wants.”

“And we have redirected FBI and DOJ resources under Blanche and Patel to immigration cases, to the exclusion of counterterrorism cases, money laundering cases, fraud, and civil rights. So I think we need people to come out and vote against that. That’s the best guardrail we have, and that’s the only remaining guardrail in our democracy.”

What can you do in the face of our government’s intended interference in the next elections?

• Make sure you are still registered to vote

• Defend and support your local election officials

• Be open to volunteering at the polls

• Help candidates efforts to get out the vote

• Lastly, VOTE! This is the one thing that tyrants hate the most. This is the most important thing our forebears fought and died for. Honor their legacy.

Yes, this year’s summertime flop will be “The Oddity” which just goes to show that a remake of a crappy story (“Trump ‘45”) is never a good idea.

Yet remake it we did in the hopes that uhhhh, ummmm things would be better?

Affordability? Nope.

There was a cartoon strip called “The Wizard of Id” that years ago set up this gag where the king reminds the wizard to “Remember the Golden Rule”. The payoff from the king is: “He who has the gold makes the rules”.

A real keeper and true on so many levels.

The corollary might also be said to be true: “He who makes the rules gets the gold”.

Just look around at the latest report from the president’s office that the president’s first year in office netted him over $2 Billion-much of which came from his venture into crypto, pay to play schemes and what really smells like an old time scheme called insider trading.

It would seem that this president seems to become active on the floor of the stock exchange surrounding major announcement like tariffs or the awarding of major government contracts to companies like SpaceX. Somehow the announcements can have an affect on the stock market. More often than not, Trump, family and friends come out smiling at the end of a day’s trading. It’s probably just a coincidence.

Firecrackers and the like are starting to light up the summer skies around the country. There aren’t as many dogs and burgers in the case at the store, potato salad, beans, cole slaw and watermelon are waiting in the wings, and we’re about to embark on our 250th birthday.

It’s incredibly exciting when you stop and think about it. It’s our social experiment that still has legs after two and a half centuries. Lots of rows, disagreements and difficulties along the way, but this Republic keeps morphing and growing its way into something really spectacular.

Despite our current malaise (a polite way to describe the cluster that is our current politics), there is a mortality issue that even the most strident cultist cannot deny. The donald is not a deity. We know that because deities don’t eat fast food like His Obesity does.

This writer hopes that you look at your neighbors with shared pride at being able to celebrate a landmark in our history-especially knowing that at two year intervals, we can exercise our precious right to vote yet again. Yours is coming again this November, but you probably knew that.

You heard it from the Bloviater-in-Chief: we won! Unconditional horse puckey! Total annihilation of the truth! There isn’t a scrap of truth left in that steaming pile of a war that wasn’t a war that cost us billions of dollars, 13 precious lives of US service men and women, over 170 young Iranian students and thousands of people on either side of the ledger who were injured.

It has also cost us our standing in the world. The United States, who used to hold some kind of moral edge in its conduct surrendered that distinction when we attacked Iran without consulting our own leadership or our allies.

As a result, we (that’s you and me, folks) will more than likely be on the hook for billions of dollars of reparations, and a newly energized enemy that now knows that closing the Strait of Hormuz is a source of bargaining power that was previously only an idea.

There is only one constant that comes from this administration: everything coming their mouths is a lie.

It’s a process this democracy of ours. As frustrating and problematic as this system has been, it continues to survive despite itself.

Even in the face of a history that includes a Civil War, the rise of Populism in the 1920s and early ‘30s, and civil rights struggles in the 1960s the country has evolved.

The current state of play is perhaps the greatest challenge this country has faced: an attempted reinvention of American democracy led by a wannabe dictator and defined by the Project 2025 manifesto. The reimagined country would leave 250 years of growth into an authoritarian fascist state led by an egomaniacal narcissist. We didn’t sign up for this.

Here is where hope and will steps up - not to mention Father Time.

We are seeing signs of a faltering, aging leader who is seen roaming around the stage of the G7 summit like a lost child, asleep at major meetings, lashing out at reporters, and tone deaf to the economic pain that many Americans are suffering. Instead, he is plastering his image onto anything that doesn’t move, and proposes self aggrandizing monuments over meals for the hungry.

What happened to the last one that said “Let them eat cake”?

His Rotundity has had his name removed from the Kennedy Center, he has been embarrassed and humbled by a ill-advised war with Iran; he has had to pull back on a $1.7 Billion dollar slush fund demand when Senators revolted.

He is also staring back at polls which show his popularity and approval ratings lower than the worst moments of his first term. Oh, and those pesky mid-terms are just around the corner. Republicans, the codependent Party, might lose its grip on power as a result.

It feels like the lies are starting to catch up to him. The reflecting pool isn’t American flag blue, it’s swamp green.

The emperor looks like an old man who has lost his mojo, and with it his hold on the MAGA movement.

Your role in the movement? Be sure to vote. It is the greatest hope we have.

Commander Bonespurs probably thought that Iran would be like Venezuela and just simply capitulate before the mighty force of his grand military. A quick in and out so His Self-Righteousness can do a giddy victory lap around one of his golf courses.

As we have seen, Iran isn’t capitulating anytime soon, and is holding both the US and the rest of the oil-dependent world hostage.

The Iranians have exposed our Wizard of Oz as the smoke and mirrors sham that he really is-stuck without the support of any other world power but their partner in war, Israel.

So the impetuous president can’t do the one thing he dearly wants to do: make it all just go away so he can concentrate on his real estate developments in D.C.

The current occupant of the White House never met a mirror he didn’t like.

You can’t turn around in Washington DC without seeing Commander Bone Spurs’ orange visage being plastered on some building or other. He’s also now on our passports, the National Park Service signage, Post Offices, and government buildings around the country. He has also added his name to The Kennedy Center, but not forever we are now learning (go judges, go judges).

The latest ploy is to plaster Il Domo’s face on the $250 bill to commemorate the 250th birthday of our fragile Republic. It’s cute, isn’t it? Except for the fact that living people are supposed to NEVER APPEAR on currency in this country, and Congress is meant to deal with this, not the Emperor.

Be that as it may, Scott Bessent, who looks like Alfred E. Newman’s 3rd cousin once removed, held up the proposed Treasury note for all to abhor. It is 100% Trump: tasteless, egotistical, arrogant and completely out of touch. Doesn’t it seem like this 250th celebration is more about a self aggrandizing dictator than the anniversary of our founding?

I can’t wait to pull out one of these bad boy bills to help pay for a full tank of gas should the Treasury ever issue this abomination. I’m just not sure if the $250 will cover it.

If there is any good news to be had in the recent news that Donald Trump and Todd Blanche are pulling off the most egregious theft of tax payer dollars in American history as well as a generous “get out of jail free card” for all Trump family members, it is that we are perhaps one step closer to absolute rock bottom.

It can’t possibly get worse, could it?

Just think, the clever marketing kids at Trump Auto Body and Grift Shoppe came up with a cute figure of $1.776 BILLION dollars. How did the evil geniuses come up with that figure? 1776! Our 250th anniversary! Get it? When you do get it, you suddenly feel like your nose has been solidly rubbed in poo. Yes, and it really stinks when you stop and think that this is our money…being given away to criminals and traitors…who attacked our police…again, without Congressional approval.

This whole shoddy shakedown has even provoked a Republican blowback. You know you have lost the high moral ground when the likes of Mitch McConnell lectures you about your behavior.

It comes across as an incredible irony that the greatest threat to this country in its 250 year history comes not from the Chinese, the Russians, the Iranians or the North Koreans. It comes from the Oval Office.

Do you remember that stark moment at the first debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden when Biden seemingly lost his cognitive abilities in front of a national audience?

You could feel a virtual national gasp when it occurred, and viewers saw that Joe Biden wasn’t mentally up to the challenge of being a two term president much less filling out his final days at The Oval Office.

The news media was all over the story, and there were even cries of elder abuse and speculation that Biden’s wife was running the presidency on her husband’s behalf.

Donald Trump went on to win the election carrying the same kind of baggage as Joe Biden: he’s an old man. Emporer Trump is currently 79, and the oldest living president. He is also showing visible signs of aging; his energy levels are much lower, he sleeps in meetings, his word salads are full on banquets, and his behavior has been erratic-even by Trumpian standards.

The media storm surrounding Trump’s mental issues has not been more than a light squall compared to Biden’s. Maybe it’s because Trump has long been his own kind of crazy, and some could argue that he is just becoming more extreme in his “Trumpiness”.

Others might argue that the decision making coming from the president has been fraught with danger. It’s one thing from Grampa Wilbur to be a little out there, and it’s another to see a president making decisions that affect our service men and women, our national interests, our relations throughout the world and the world economy.

The last “oops” was the slight miscalculation over the Strait of Hormuz. Who ever saw that coming? Obviously not Commander-in-Chief Bonespurs.

Here’s the worry: the president has surrounded himself with sycophantic lackeys and the biggest fear is that this president, the guy with the nuclear codes, seems to be motivated more by whim, emotional guesses, vengeful paybacks and gut instinct.

Sadly, it is just us poor dumb clucks that get to pick up the pieces.

I like him better when he’s napping.

Isn’t this just the definition of irony? The Chief Justice of the United States is either deluded or a liar. Just take a second to take a look at the tidal wave of redistricting going on just prior to the mid term primaries.

The result of the Supreme Court decision does lead to policy decisions just prior to an election. That does make the Supreme Court political actors. Isn’t that what Roberts just denied?

It tells the story of a Republican majority frightened to death at the prospect of losing their slim majority and a Supreme Court in Virginia and Washington that is only too willing to tip the balance back in favor of the status quo-ie the wealthy and powerful stay in place and say, “nothing to see here, just a little dumpster fire, go about on your way”.

Recent decisions by this Supreme Court have now brought their political motivation into question and tarnished the reputation of this once revered institution. Jim Crow is alive and well.

Let’s just call it the Faux Pas de Callais.

Despite the understanding that said redistricting was to be revisited every 10 years following the census, the rules (and laws) seem to have been kicked to the curb.

The latest assault on American voters is the result of the April 29 decision by the Supreme Court in Louisiana v. Callais.

The ruling effectively stopped a primary election in Louisiana so the state could redraw their boundary maps to disenfranchise black and brown voters. Immediately following that the state of Tennessee followed suit by redistricting the city of Memphis absorbing all the black voters into three white districts surrounding the city. Florida is also following suit.

If you can’t beat ‘em, change the rules.

Yes folks, Jim Crow is alive and well, and if you’re starting to feel like the election system is being rigged on the fly by a nervous Republican Party and a compliant Supreme Court, you won’t get an argument from this corner.

Just remember to vote in November and make them eat (Jim) Crow.
