So today I am going to walk y’all step by step through this 3 click rule here.

I call this Barrett’s 3-Click AI Rule, and it is meant to help you stay safer on Instagram in particular, but overall online as many Ai influencer accounts are trying to trick you into giving them your sensitive personal information, which I have continued to discuss is worth thousands of dollars.

As a reminder the goal of this is to encourage you to slow down, rebuild your attention span, and not simply trust everything you see online.

Barrett’s 3 click AI rule is:

When you come across any new account that you like, want to engage with, or follow, you HAVE TO to slow down, and the first thing you will do is:

1. Click into the profile.

   1. From there you will look to see if it blatantly says AI Creator in the bio or under the username. If it does then please block the account and move on.

   2. If it doesn’t then it’s time to move to click 2.

2. Click into the account name at the top left to see when the account was created.

   1. This won’t always prove an account is fake because many older accounts are now being repurposed into AI content farms, and many of these accounts have actually been hacked, which is another problem I will discuss with you.

   2. If the account was created recently (especially in late 2025–present 2026), there’s a higher chance it may not be authentic, so please be extra cautious of these newer accounts.

3. Click through other posts on the same account.

   1. I want you to think of this like a puzzle. Investigate the account’s real purpose by looking through it.

   2. Scroll through the profile, and ask yourself:
      1. What are they actually trying to sell me?
      2. What emotions are they trying to trigger?
      3. Does this feel human, or optimized for something else?

As I mentioned above, many accounts today are being hacked, which is nearly impossible to undo. UPDATES

There is an overall agreement from everyone: seal and sea lion advocates, the local swimmers, and the board that the La Jolla Cove has become overrun with humans. Many of you may have seen videos and photos online that exemplify this.

What is not in agreement is the way to handle an immediate action step, and that is where tensions continue to rise.

Here are the facts:

This past Monday at 4PM at the Riford Library, there were more than 110 people who showed up to the public La Jolla Parks and Beaches meeting. This is unprecedented. I could not be more grateful to everyone who showed up.

I say this with grace, the board was not prepared for this turnout.

They lacked a speaker so everyone could hear, as people were told via fire marshal rules, they were not allowed in the largest space available at the library, so they stood in the hallway.

I personally showed up 30 minutes early to make sure I could sign up to talk, was around 10th on the list, but after 37 people signed up, the board decided to call on 15 people at random, who each got 2 minutes to speak. I was conveniently not one of those people.

Board President Ann Dynes made her own public statement, which said they were unaware of this problem, but later on, Board Treasurer Chas Dye presented a proposed letter to the city, stating they were aware of this ongoing problem.

There were local swimmers, who made it very clear that they want to continue to have access to the ocean. They support a beach closure, as long as ocean access stays open. They also voiced that the sea lions are overpopulated. I am not sure by what standards they are voicing this, but this is not a fact.

Better management is wanted by everyone.

This problem has been going on for years, but things continue to get worse, which is why so many of us are passionately continuing to advocate for a closure at Childrens Pool and La Jolla Cove until actual actionable change is implemented by Council President Joe LaCava and Mayor Todd Gloria.

• Council President Joe LaCava did not attend, but sent a representative, Joaquin Quintero, to reiterate that Joe is not looking to close the beaches.

• Mayor Todd Gloria, did not attend, nor did he send a representative, but he also not looking to close the beaches.

This is why public pressure has to continue.

Both men have been informed of this petition, and are aware of the ongoing problem, but are hoping it will just go away. We can’t let that happen.

PROPOSED LETTER TO CITY

LJP&B director Chas. Dye presented a letter to be sent to the city. Here is what is proposed:

• A resolution to maintain aquatic access while restricting access to La Jolla Cove during sea lion pupping season (June 1 through Sept 15).

• Close the west staircase at The Cove but leave the east staircase (closest to the lifeguard tower) open, with signage indicating only access for swimming, diving and snorkeling would be allowed.

• No animal viewing from the beach would be permitted.

A motion to approve and forward the letter passed, with married directors Marie Hunrichs and Ken Hunrichs opposing. Marie cited worries of increased sea lion numbers. Ken opposed stating that the restrictions are “the next step towards complete closure of The Cove.” They both spoke of their grandchildren and desiring access for their family.

OVERALL

What is clear is there is a lack of diversity on the board in all capacities.

Factually speaking, the board is entirely white, 50+, and lives within a specific socio-economic bracket that most of us do not. This is not meant to be an insult. It is about perspective.

At the end of the 3+ hour meeting, which I stayed entirely for, the board stated they see the lack of diversity in all ways themselves, and hope this changes.

The turn out and sheer number of people showing up absolutely was and is needed to continue to advocate for this ongoing issue.

• Wildlife Jewels is another incredible organization fighting to help protect the marine wildlife and coastline, and would be more than thrilled to see as many people as possible get involved.

THE PROBLEM

As you might have recently seen in San Diego there has been a rise in humans abusing and harming the wildlife, specifically in La Jolla at the Children’s Pool and La Jolla Cove, which is a Marine Protected Area.

This has been a growing problem for years, and because of that I have taken it upon myself to create a petition to properly seek for actionable steps to stop this abuse and create meaningful change.

THE ACTION

What I am asking is for you to please consider adding your name to my petition to close these beaches down until real compromise can be found. You do not need to live in California as this specific spot is a tourist destination, so every voice truly matters.

Overall, what seems to be the ongoing problem is that a very small group of very wealthy individuals, who control this organization want to prioritize their own wants.

On Monday at the Parks and Beaches public meeting, which will be held at the La Jolla Riford Library at 4PM, solutions will presented from the current members. Some of those options being presented include:

• Removing the seals with dogs

• Shooting them with firehouses

• Hunting / killing them

This is simply inhumane, and down right unacceptable.

We are guests in these amazing animals home, and we should be prioritizing their safety as there are countless other beaches for humans to use along the California coastline, many of which are walking distance from these two spots.

I wanted to update you all on whats been going on offline as there have been a lot of important updates, and I have intentionally been spending less time on social media.

Last week, I traveled to DC to lobby on Capitol Hill for stronger online protections for children and youth. I met with staffers from Massachusetts Senator Markey’s office, Hawaii Senator Schatz’s office, New Jersey Senator Andy Kim’s office, and Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn’s office.

Every single office was highly receptive and understood the need for much stronger protections for children online.

I was specifically lobbying for the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) (S.1748), a bipartisan legislative effort aimed at protecting minors on social media.

The bill would require tech companies to implement default safety settings, provide options to disable addictive features, and uphold a “duty of care” to help prevent mental health harms to young users. It would also allow victims to sue tech companies and hold them accountable, which the KIDS Act does not. This is a major red flag for me.

A similar piece of legislation, the KIDS Act (H.R. 7757), is also being advanced in DC. It is another bipartisan online safety bill and has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives.

The bill combines 14 digital safety proposals to implement age verification, mandate default privacy settings, restrict targeted advertising, and require AI chatbots to disclose that they are not human. However, this bill is backed by Big Tech, which we know does not want to be held fully accountable. This is one of the reasons I believe this bill is not what we actually need. As a whole, the package contains a number of significant loopholes.

Neither of these bills has been signed into law, and, as is often the case in politics, a great deal of negotiating is happening behind the scenes.

I strongly encourage everyone to look into these bills and examine the legislative packages being promoted as progressive, but which, in my view, create loopholes that allow Big Tech to avoid full accountability.

Big Tech has argued that queer youth will lose access to online community if KOSA is passed, but that is not true. I also have my own thoughts and valid concerns about Senator Blackburn serving as KOSA’s co-sponsor, which is why I believe we all need to pay close attention to what is happening with both of these bills.

Additionally, I spent the day with World Without Exploitation for its 9th Annual Youth Summit, The Age of Adultification: Combating the Sexualization of Minors.

I was honored to deliver the keynote address on the adultification of youth online and to speak candidly about my own experience. I also participated in a panel discussing the loopholes that Big Tech intentionally uses to make these platforms addictive and harmful, while also offering ways we can all become better stewards of them. Finally, I helped facilitate two breakout sessions on the memeification of abuse and harm, and how it is further desensitizing all of us.

It was truly a restorative and impactful time spent with so many young people who are deeply engaged in these issues.

I am also humbled to share that I had the opportunity to spend quality time with several of the survivors of Epstein’s abuse and to support them at their press conference, where they urged government officials to block Todd Blanche from becoming Attorney General. As a reminder, he has still not been confirmed, and we can all put pressure on our representatives to keep Trump’s personal lawyer out of this incredibly important position, which is meant to protect the public, not the president.

This group of sister survivors is truly putting so much of their heart, soul, and time into making our world a better place.

I could not be prouder of these incredible humans.

Finally, I had the privilege of marching in the San Diego Pride Parade with the American Humanist Association, which is advocates progressive values and equality for humanists, atheists, freethinkers, and the non-religious across the country. It was a beautiful day filled with so much joy and love. I’m deeply grateful that my three close friends joined my partner and I with their kids.

I share this update as a reminder of the importance of showing up in person, not just online.

Most people haven’t realized it yet, but we have officially crossed a threshold where there are now more bots operating on the internet than actual humans. According to a report by Mashable, automated bots make up roughly 57% of all online activity.

Think about that for a second.

The comments we read. The accounts we interact with. The engagement we see flooding our feed. At an alarming rate, much of it isn’t coming from real people.

And many of these bots are specifically designed to manipulate our attention, manufacture emotional outrage, spread so much misinformation, and keep us emotionally activated and heightened.

The goal is to enrage us and find more ways to steal our information.

The Bigger Risk

While AI bot farms are changing the way we experience the internet, there’s another even bigger issue quietly growing in the background.

Our personal data is everywhere.

And much of it is shockingly easy to access.

Recently, a Verge article discussed how security researchers discovered that nearly one million passports, driver’s licenses, phone numbers, addresses, and other personal records were publicly accessible online due to major security flaws in software used by cannabis social clubs.

The breach exposed an astonishing amount of sensitive information that should never have been publicly available.

The reality is that incidents like this are becoming increasingly common, but they are avoidable with the right tools.

Our Data Is Worth More Than You Think

What’s even more concerning is that a significant amount of our personal information is already being bought and sold every day by data brokers. Y’all have heard me talk about this, but still too many are not taking this seriously.

Everything from our names, to our addresses, to our family connections, and even our employment history are being collected, packaged, and distributed across the internet for more money than most realize.

While much of the media coverage has focused on Meta’s brand new partnership with Kylie Jenner and the fashion-forward design of the new glasses, I can assure you that the real story lies beneath the aesthetics.

In my Substack article from April, “Immediate Warning: Meta Ray-Ban / Oakley Glasses — The Glasses That See Too Much,” I discussed how these devices are not at all fashion accessories, but a turning point in personal surveillance.

Today, I want to share something even more personal with y’all.

In October 2025, I was approached by Meta to become an official partner for Meta Glasses. If I had agreed to this partnership I would have received commission opportunities up to 25% and “cash bonuses.” I was also told that “additional perks and incentives for top performers” would be available. “The more you sell, the more you earn.”

I share this because many of your favorite influencers / creators are actively making money off of these glasses, but not telling you because they don’t have to. How many people have started to use them, and it feels…off?

Disguise The Tech

Here is the thing, I like Meta. I’m critical of it because I know the potential it still holds, and I know it isn’t going anywhere. With that said, I do not trust these glasses.

As a professional coach, I have already seen how these glasses are doing more harm than good. As a survivor, I despise these glasses because they take away one of the biggest things I advocate for: consent.

Meta’s strategy is to make the technology disappear. Why?

Because then anyone anywhere can record you, pump out content for their platform, and you can’t do anything about it. Let’s also be 100% critical, the people benefiting the most from the never ending scroll of content are the billionaires, who are destroying our planet, so they can hoard more unnecessary wealth.

These glasses don’t look like futuristic hardware. They look like premium eyewear. That normality is precisely what makes them powerful and extremely dangerous.

We are already watching the transformation of everyday public interactions because of social media. If these wearable devices eventually gain the go-ahead to identify individuals, analyze environments, and retrieve personal information in real time, the social contract of anonymity in public spaces is fundamentally dead.

And we know they can already do this.

Ice has already been spotted wearing these glasses for this precise reason. In April, the Tucson Sentinel reported this story, DHS startles Congress with request for millions to develop ICE ‘smart glasses.’

HOOK THEM YOUNGER

The Kylie Jenner collaboration is not simply a marketing campaign. It is a mechanism for accelerating cultural adoption, and by an even younger audience that has been trained to not critically think about the long term impacts, especially young men.

By attaching the product to one of the most influential figures in fashion and social media, Meta moves the conversation away from surveillance and toward desirability, luxury, and being a part of something “cool.”

Teaming up with the Kardashians, especially the youngest one, who has proven over and over that she can sell anything, was a super strategic move.

It is brilliant branding, genius partnering, and evil to the core.

What many of you many not realize is that I hold a Bachelor of Science in Media, Culture, and Communication from NYU. These conversations are exactly what I was trained to speak on and be critical about. It was also during my time at NYU that I learned when selling a product you want to target the tweens (9-12) because then “you have their parents by the wallet.”

How many of you are parents? How often do you feel pressure to let your kids do something because their peers are doing it? You don’t want them to get left behind? They are relentless?

Ultimately what we need to be critically asking is, happens when a technology powerful enough to observe, record, analyze, and eventually recognize people becomes as common as sunglasses?

The central tension surrounding Meta’s latest launch is not whether consumers will want the glasses. The Kylie Jenner partnership suggests they very well might. Kids are about to have them marketed at them super hard.

While this is one of the strange realities of talking publicly about social media, internet culture, and digital manipulation, it doesn’t have to be an anxiety producing one. The more transparent I am about how these systems work, the more attention I attract from the exact kinds of people, who weaponize them, which means I must be doing something “right.”

Both industries have figured out something terrifying: the general population, especially those losing access to real healthcare, community, and support, are incredibly profitable.

We’re now seeing an explosion of AI-generated influencers with perfect skin, perfect bodies, perfect routines, and perfectly scripted “wisdom” trying to sell us everything from healing to business courses like they’re subscription services. Sadly, way too many people are getting scammed.

I get it.

Most of us are exhausted from the never-ending challenges being thrown at us. We want to feel better, make more money, find purpose, and adapt to the rapidly changing world we’re living in.

But the scariest part is that most of this content isn’t actually designed to heal or help us. It’s designed to keep us consuming another supplement, another course, another “high-performance” morning routine, or another identity to chase.

AI is making it worse.

Because these fake wellness personalities aren’t just selling products, they’re often built on the same biased systems already flooding the internet with racism, homophobia, misogyny, and harmful stereotypes disguised as “truth,” “masculinity,” or “traditional values.”

A lot of these AI personas are trained to reinforce whatever gets engagement: fear, division, gender panic, body shame, cultural stereotypes, toxic masculinity, and fake spirituality.

The tech bros behind the scenes simply write a prompt, generate a video in minutes, post it, and link it back to some supplement or course with little to no evidence it actually helps all while generating millions through affiliate links.

While doing my research, an anonymous source disclosed to me that one person running hundreds of these accounts is reportedly making upward of $2.5 million per month.

That’s not just insane, it’s deeply predatory.

Emotional manipulation has now merged with a fractured society to optimize for sales. The algorithm doesn’t care if we’re at peace. It only cares if we stay insecure enough to keep scrolling, and desperate enough to buy whatever bullshit is being sold.

That’s why I’m continuing to encourage this Love Army to slow down on social media, rebuild our discernment, and practice the “3-Click Rule” whenever we come across a new account or creator.

The 3-Click Rule

1. Click into the profile.

Take a moment before automatically trusting or engaging with the content.

2. Click the account name at the top to see when the account was created.

This won’t always prove an account is fake — many older accounts are now being repurposed into AI content farms — but if the account was created recently (especially in late 2025–2026), there’s a higher chance it may not be authentic.

3. Investigate the account’s real purpose.

Scroll through the profile. Ask yourself:
1. What are they actually trying to sell me?
2. What emotions are they trying to trigger?
3. Does this feel human, or optimized?

I know this feels like a lot of work, and I want to validate that it is. But the cost of immediacy and endless access has been cheap, harmful, and destructive to our society, culture, and planet.

It’s just not worth it.

And because I believe it’s important to always find light through the darkness, I’m beyond humbled to report that the Social Media Literacy 101 series has made its way to the corporate side of Meta, and discussions specifically about AI wellness influencers are now being taken very seriously, and I am remaining optimistic that something will be done. I will keep everyone updated as I am updated.

Additionally, multiple accounts that I have profiled have now been banned and removed from social media as a whole.

And not just in a casual, curious way, but in a way that made me stop and think: how much of my life is actually out there for anyone to see?

Over the years, I’ve come across some unsettling corners of the internet. places where people were actively searching for personal details about me. Not just surface-level information, but things that felt invasive. Things that shouldn’t be so easy to find.

It forced me to confront a reality that most people don’t fully grasp:

The Illusion of Normalcy

These glasses look like classic Ray-Ban frames, but inside they house cameras, microphones, speakers, and AI. They can record video, livestream to Instagram, translate conversations, and capture moments hands-free instantly.

The issue: they look normal.

Unlike phones, these glasses blend seamlessly into everyday life. Anyone can buy them. Anyone can wear them, as they come in multiple colors, as standard glasses, sunglasses, and transition lenses.

Currently, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses typically cost between $299 and $459 for Generation 2 models, depending on frame style and lens type (polarized or transitions). The newer, advanced "Meta Ray-Ban Display" models with in-lens screens are priced around $799.

These glasses completely remove the visible barrier to filming strangers, and make it so that anyone can become someone else’s content.

I don’t think that is ok.

From Convenience to Covert Surveillance

Recent reporting shows a surge of creators using these glasses to film unsuspecting people, too often women, during street interactions, pranks, or so-called “social experiments.”

Many of these interactions are straight up harassment.

In most cases, the subjects don’t even realize they’re being recorded until after the fact, if they ever do, and as I’ve profiled here, many people are being filmed while intoxicated, at their place of work, and in situations where the person being filmed has no idea this is happening.

There are multiple young men, who are going to communities where there are a number of unhoused people, filming them, and exploiting them as they harass and harm them. It’s truly disgusting and dangerous!

Just today, I saw someone who works at my local gym, walk into the locker room while wearing these glasses. My husband had no idea, other gym patrons had no idea, and it took me a minute to realize what was happening. This is where we are at now.

For the record, I reported this to the manager of the gym, and made sure action was taken.

How The “POV Content” Economy Works

Here is where it continues to get even more fucked up, and why you need to be wary of all Ray-Bans and Oakley’s right now.

A growing number of these videos follow a similar formula:

• Approach a stranger

• Initiate a conversation (often flirtatious or invasive)

• Upload the footage for views onto social media.

• The more unscripted it feels, the more viral it becomes

• The less aware the subject is, the more “authentic” the content appears

This creates a deeply troubling feedback loop where consent becomes friction, and something that should be mandatory, reduces engagement rather than something essential.

Even when these male creators claim interactions are harmless or staged, the format itself normalizes a world where anyone in public can become content without warning.

That is NOT ok.

The Myth of the “Recording Indicator”

Meta points to a small LED light that turns on when recording begins as a safeguard. For the Ray-Bans it is on the side of the glasses. For the Oakley’s it is in the center. Please refer back to the images in this article.

Here is the truth.

The light is subtle, often unnoticed, and in some reported cases can be disabled or ignored entirely, and as AI continues to grow, learning how to remove the light become even easier.

That means the burden shifts onto bystanders, which means US, to not just notice the device, but to understand what that tiny light even means.

That’s a very high bar for informed consent, especially in a world where consent is actively being undermined for many reasons.

Why This Matters Even More.

These glasses don’t just capture moments, they feed multiple ecosystems:

• Social media algorithms

• AI training datasets

• Content monetization pipelines

In some reported cases, footage captured on these devices may even be reviewed or processed for AI training purposes.

What does that mean?

The content being captured is used for AI and robotics that are on a fast track to replace humans for just about everything.

Great!

So the now the question becomes: Who owns your face, your voice, your presence in public space?

Because increasingly, without any laws, it is not you, or me, it is these tech companies. And many of these creators are making a lot of money off of people being filmed without any consent.

Why You Should Care

It’s easy to frame this as a “bad actors” problem, but that misses the bigger picture. It isn’t just teenage boys. It is also grown adults who are doing this.

Ultimately, this technology lowers the cost of human behavior that used to require effort, intention, visibility, and consent.

Hidden cameras used to be rare, deliberate tools. Now they’re a consumer product, marketed as lifestyle enhancement, which I believe is fully bullshit.

And when that tool meets:

• influencer economics

• virality incentives

• AI-driven amplification

• the attention economy

• kids and adults who don’t care about anyone else

…it doesn’t just enable new and bad behavior, it normalizes it.

The Dark Reality

We’re entering an even darker digital world right now. The default state of being in public is rapidly shifting from:

“I might be seen or captured by someone filming” to: “I might be recorded, stored, and distributed for content, money, and highly valuable information.”

This is a profound change, and unlike past technological shifts, this one doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t look like a camera. It looks like someone casually glancing at you through a pair of sunglasses.

Sounds horrifying, right?

So What Happens Next?

The concern is what these glasses do today, but also what they are quickly enabling tomorrow.

Privacy advocates have already raised alarms about future integrations like facial recognition, which could turn casual encounters into instant identification.

There are already multiple pieces of tech that have been shown to work, which allow the glasses to instantly identity any of us, using the entire internet’s database of information on us.

Imagine walking down the street and being:

• recorded

• identified

• analyzed

• uploaded

…all in seconds, without your knowledge.

This makes stalking, harassment, abuse, assault, etc even easier.

In my personal opinion, this should be illegal, but there are currently ZERO laws that prohibit this. The ethical line may be blurry at best, but the power dynamic isn’t. The ACLU has started warning people, and you can see what they are fighting / sign a petition they have here.

Please see the comments below that show people waking up and reexamining why their words, thoughts, and behaviors have not been helping anyone, most importantly, themselves.

These were all interactions that were prompted because I spoke up, y’all supported the convo, and WE, as a team, were able to lean into “fighting” with love at the core, a core principle of the Love Army.

What so many people are experiencing around the world right now is GRIEF.

Grief for what they thought the world was, and now seeing it for what it really is. For better or worse, I was forced to reckon with this a long time ago. The rightful and just anger many are experiencing right now is something that I have lived in and through. It is an IMPORTANT part of grief. Please remember that, and be gentle with yourself as you understand this deeper and deeper.

Some days it pops back up in big ways, and other days it doesn’t show up at all.

I share this to both validate your anger and to let you know that it does not have to hold you hostage. We should be angry. To be honest, I truly don’t think enough people are angry enough. However, they are getting there, and that is super important to remember because there is power in numbers.

I share this next part to be even more vulnerable with you all. In my work, I have come to understand how important vulnerability is, not only when it serves us on TED stages (I’m looking at you, Ms. Brown), but all the time. When we are vulnerable, we create safe and brave spaces for others to be vulnerable as well. This is key to creating change.

I have been VERY ANGRY.

I’ve been very angry both on and offline. It was meaningful for me to be angry. It helped me connect with others who understood my anger. It allowed me to move beyond people-pleasing. It got rid of people in my life who did not fully support me. It helped me move through my own grief.

I hope this reminds you that it is meaningful for you to be angry as well. Too many of us have been told not to be angry. That is trash. It is a patriarchal tactic to gaslight those of us who should be angry out of it, so we don’t keep questioning these fucked-up systems. It is also interesting, when you examine how patriarchy operates, to think about how anger is one of the few emotions straight men can identify and are encouraged to feel.

Why is it only good for them? It isn’t.

So when my anger pops up, as it will at different moments forever, what I center myself on is that I do NOT want to be an angry person.

Anger does not help me think clearly. It does not feed my soul, and it does not help me push for actionable change in the ways that I can control. It can be part of what ignites me, but it can’t be where I operate from because it does not allow me to stay as focused and clearheaded as I’ve had to be all of these years.

I will never tell anyone how to feel. What I can do is act as an example, and show you the very real examples of change that I’ve been able to facilitate through education, empowerment, accountability, and yes, sometimes a little sass too.

Let me know how you are feeling, and let’s keep using this anger to ignite us, but not be in the driver’s seat of our lives.

I wanted to send YOU a love letter as we embark on this new journey together. I’m beyond aware of how valuable your attention is, and I do not take it lightly that you have decided to be here with me right now.

So please take a breath, let your body relax, get comfy, and read these words knowing how important YOU are to all of this.

I want to make sure you understand that the Love Army is not just a group of people. We are a movement.

I may be the founder of the love army, but I am not the leader. Yes, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve seen a lot. I’ve healed a lot. However, I, like everyone else, do not have all the answers. This is why I am so excited to be a member of this collective, and humbled to be a part of this amazing group of humans, which includes YOU.

It is truly incredible how big this Love Army has grown, and how it has spreads to 6 continents. It makes my heart so full.

We are literally everywhere. I NEED you to remember that. I NEED you to remember that there really are more people around this world that believe in love, kindness, healing, and unity. Many of them exist much closer to you in real life than you may realize. That is exciting because one of our big goals is finding each other in real life.

I know our phones and all of these social media platforms can make it feel like it’s the opposite, and that is by design, but it is factually not the case. Did you know that the majority of the hate that is spread online is pushed out by just over 3% of the overall users? That number is so small, but unfortunately, we know that the loudest, angriest, and most hate-filled voices take up a lot of space.

Which brings us back to why the Love Army is so important. Why YOU are so important. Why YOUR voice is so important.

Our voices are our power. I say this often. I mean it fully, and I hope you can hear me when I say this, you need to start believing more how powerful YOUR voice is as well. We need it, and more importantly you need it.

If you are anything like me then there is a good chance somewhere along the journey things got hard, people were unkind, harm showed up, and bad people tried to steal your light. I know many of you know my trauma, and I’m not going to lie, it is a strange experience to know the world knows your darkest moments, but that is also healing because it allows me to take back my power and shift the shame where it belongs, which is not on me.

I share this because I don’t want you to compare your trauma to mine. That is not helpful to anyone. That is not helpful to me, and it is absolutely not helpful to you. I don’t want you to pity me, feel bad for me, or whatever else. I just want you to know that when you decide, at your own pace, in the ways that best serve you, to release whatever shame you may be holding onto, you will get to take back your voice fully, and that is powerful!

We’ll get more into this as we go, so please keep that somewhere special for you to come back to.

So as we move on, we center ourselves, take another deep breath, and remember that we can and will do the hard thing, which is hold onto our light. Our lights, which only get brighter as we stand more firmly in our protest against the dark, are based in equity and equality. Seeing everyone not just survive, but thrive is the goal.

Collectively, our lights only get brighter when we unite, and that is what is so magical about the Love Army.

In this Love Army, we will fight, but we fight with love as our reason why. Love for ourselves. Love for our neighbors. Love for people we don’t know, who look different than us, and that we may never meet because at the end of the day we understand we are far more alike than we are different.

Something I often say is, “When you are happy and healthy, you only want to see others happy and healthy as long as they are not hurting themselves or anyone else.” Part of being a healed adult is understanding that healing is a forever journey, and that happiness and health show up in different ways for different people. We must remain as open as possible, so that we can all authentically grow together.

One of the biggest things I have come to learn as I step deeper and deeper into my healing, while continuing to be as intersectional and intentional as possible, is that we must center our evolution towards community. Ultimately a community is a group of people with a common unity. In this Love Army, we are centered on healing.

One of my life mottos comes from the incredible Gloria Steinem, "The final stage of healing is using what happens to you to help other people that is healing in itself.” This idea that we pay it forward is how we connect with others, and ultimately, what I hope more than anything, is what inspires you to create your own Love Army where you live in person.

Again, that is my ultimate goal. The idea that each one of you will find your own avenue to say, '“enough is enough,” and truly be the change you want to see in the world, keeps me pushing harder and harder. Imagining that each one of you will find even more fearlessness and courage to speak your truth, to own your story, and to inspire others to do the same, is why we are here together now.

Trust me, I know better than most that it takes a lot of work, but that work absolutely pays off. It may not feel that way, and it may not be how you expected it, but I promise you, it does. And here is the supreme truth that I have come to deeply understand in my work, both on and offline: one day, you will have to face your truth. It is not a matter of if, but when. That when is in your control.

I hope right now you are feeling even just 1% more capable to lean in and own it because the other big truth I have learned through my work, is that the people who are the most capable tend to tell themselves they are far less so than the idiots who have no right running everything else.

Anyways, just some food for thought as we dive deeper, swing bigger, love more fully, and yes, fight a little harder too because YOU deserve to live in a wonderful world that gives back to you too.
