Happy September! Somehow, we only have four months left in this year. As we slowly wind down, I welcome the start of fall with open arms. It’s my favorite season, after all.

This month’s photo from Bridger National Forest in Wyoming introduces the subtle shift between summer and fall in a forest. Green grass takes on a more golden and burnt orange hue. The trees mostly hold the same palette, but if you look closely, some tops have lightened for the occasion.

And if you look VERY closely, you may notice two bear cubs testing the weight threshold high in the trees. They had me giggling, from a distance.

May you enjoy all the final farewells of summer and the greetings of fall goodness preparing to embrace us.

These bloom getaways have unintentionally turned into a little series. To be honest, I am unsure how many more months my iPhone camera roll will deliver flowers. Fingers are crossed at least a few continue popping up year-round, during my evening searches.

Two (of many) rose captures from Portland’s iconic garden have been included. Approximately 100 were left out.

The pops of color, with neutral sidewalk backdrops, are from walks around the various towns I once called home. The bright purple flower, with a glowing center, is an all time favorite.

And last, but certainly not least, a small bunch of purple pretties in the sacred Black Hills of South Dakota. Decorating a trail through the national forest.
