It is a simple and fun concept that has been obsessing me for the last couple months. You have 101 words to tell a story. That’s it! As of today, I have done one a day for 68 days. It is a nice warm-up before starting Continuum Universe or Trixie Dynamite. This was the first story I did back on June 4th. Enjoy! If you do any, please share them with me.

A mage of seven wandered fields of fantasy when a frog of some size she discovered.

“Hello, frog.”

Ribbit

“A good day to you as well.”

“A mage practitioner am I, though one day an exalted mage.”

“Do you aspire?”

“What a dream.”

“Perhaps I can help.”

A stone, a wand, and three magic words later.

Poof

The frog of some size was no more, and a dragon of considerable size remained.

Grrrrrrr

“Well, that is the most ungrateful—“

With a puff, fire spewed from the dragon of considerable size’s nostrils.

Where does the time go?! I have been consistent in my creativity for sure, but have I devoted enough time to complete my quarter 1 goals? Let’s take a look at what I planned to do and what I actually accomplished.

With two new pugs in the shop, I set out to have a children’s book written starring P-Chan and Shampoo. In this, I succeeded! The newest instalment has been written, the fantastic Sacramento artist Jen Monson has signed on, and we hope to bring this to you by the holiday season.
The story you will see the most here on Substack is Continuum Universe. With nearly 700 pages of story previously published, I returned to the characters and have 14 chapters available for you now, with more on the way. My goal was to complete chapter 66. I made it through 61. I do not consider this a failure because I did a lot of reworking and plotting to make sure I was going in the right direction.
I have been needing to get some Trixie Dynamite out, so I proposed an 8-page story to get things rolling. Well…I started three stories but didn’t complete any of them. I think that is still good! lol Now to focus on one of them.

Now it is time to pick goals for quarter 2! The hard part is narrowing it down. On top of the above projects, I want to get back to my choose your own adventure and sci-fi graphic novel.

I am not going to do the usual reflection this year. I know what I accomplished. I know what I failed to find time for. This year, I am only looking ahead at what I would like to do and focusing on how to make that happen. I like to work on quarterly goals, as they are much easier to digest, and a shorter time frame puts the pressure on. So what do I want to do with the beginning of 2026…?

A new children’s book! We have three volumes of Rolly Polly & Captain Dylan, but it is time to pass the torch to Shampoo & P-Chan. I have local artist Jen Monson onboard, I just need to finish writing the book so she can start.
Continuum Universe The New Age! This has been my creative passion over the last couple of years, and it is time to finish the story. As of this moment, I have 55 chapters written, and I’d like to get through 66 before the end of the quarter.
Trixie Dynamite! I have not let this free-spirited heroine loose in far too long, and we had just set the groundwork for a multipart story. Let’s not bite off more than I can chew here, so I’d like to have a new 8-pager written.

Yep, that’s where we used to post them. This introductory story gave me two firsts. I got to work with Sacramento artist Richard Curtze, which I had wanted to do for some time. It was also the first time two different Continuum Universe stories crossed over, showing a shared universe.

A lot has changed for Triad. Alexis works with the rebellion. Macaire is dead. Vasos has joined Mistress.
