In other news there are some crazy openings happening at the moment and people are not happy about some of them. Let’s get into it.

• The Four Seasons has been at the forefront of a long standing battle for their proposed development to build a 150 key resort on the Adriatic Sea in Italy’s Puglia. Environmental groups including Legambiente, Italia Nostra, GEOS Ostuni and a local coastal-protection committee have taken the project to the TAR (regional administrative court) in Lecce but the Four Seasons does not seem to be backing down on this one and it seems the development is still a go on their website. Would you guys like to see this development happen?

• London is slowly taking over New York’s luxury hospitality scene. From members clubs like Annabel’s announcing their opening in Meat Packing District right near Soho House I believe (not sure if that was part of the plan). Then the opening of Maxime’s which opened last year by Robin Birley and seems to be making waves and then the opening of The Wolseley hotel which is a dining institution in London but now a hotel in New York?! Is New York slowly turning into London 2.0? What does this say about where New York Hospitality is going?

• Is Venice Beach California becoming too luxury for the Natives liking? There are some big players making their way to LA’s Hip Beach Haven known as Venice Beach and I am not sure the locals are as excited as others might be. Soho House will open their Venice Beach location, bringing a wellness focused club to the shores of Venice Beach and let’s just say the reactions are mixed. Many locals despise the idea of a “Yuppy” beach town which was once home to a place where struggling artists could thrive. Others are fed up with the current state of the area and want something bigger for Venice and see this as a big positive. What do you think?

In the end of the day, no matter what you do in life, certain things are always going to excite some and annoy others and that is always going to be the case with big new openings. You can never please everyone but sometimes maybe the concerns are legitimate. What we all know is that in the end of the day, a cool new opening can create great jobs and help the economy if it’s a success so I like to see the glass half full because otherwise you’re just fighting a losing battle when you cannot control the outcome. To get started I spent last week at The Carasco Hotel in the Aeolian islands just off of Sicily. The Odyssey team was based here for a part of their filming in Italy and it’s truly something worth seeing and experiencing. It’s almost like going back in time.

So in other news….

• Soho House has finally come out with their rendering photos for their Sydney location and honestly I think this will be a great addition. Sydney is one of my favourite cities, I did a year there in 2015 but the nightlife has always been questionable. Soho House would be a great addition to Sydney. Cities like London take their membership clubs for granted because they’re spoilt for choice but Sydney is the opposite.

• The Saint Tropez Arev hotel offers a personal butler to serve you French fries which is crazy and I got to experience it myself. There’s something about a plate of fries served to you by a classy butler in the French Riviera which is a crazy experience. I had mine when I was on the mend from a night of drinking and honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better. One of my dips was vanilla ice cream which was insane.

when you stay in a hotel that comes from a high fashion house with impeccable taste, it’s going to be tough to miss and that they did not.

Let’s start with their award winning breakfast.. winning THE BEST BREAKFAST IN ITALY has got to be one of the most prestigious award a hotel can win. Food isn’t just food in Italy as we all know, it’s a love language. You struggle to have a bad breakfast almost anywhere in Italy. I genuinely am yet to have a bad Italian breakfast. So to be awarded THE BEST out of a pretty talented bunch of cooks says something. I ate these poached eggs in pasta sauce and they blew my socks off. I might dream of them forever.

there is one word you can you choose to describe the rooms and that is… CHIC. It’s the definition of chic. I mean it was designed by fashion designers and the world’s best. So how can it not be chic.

Everything is just placed exactly where it should be the colour codes are on point. Iv never felt more stylish just sitting in a room until now.

And it doesn’t only look good it’s actually comfortable so that’s a pretty important one.

The hotel bar is always vibing and I feel that’s what you need in a good hotel and it’s the missing component to many luxury hotels… A VIBE!

The spa is something out of a James Bond film it just feels like somewhere you see in the movies and think that this probably isn’t actually a real place, well that’s how I felt when I entered their underground wellness lair.

This hotel is something else if you appreciate style fashion and true Milanese culture this is going to be a tough one to beat in the city of Milan.

It’s no secret that Tokyo is hotter than ever so a Soho House opening in the coolest city right now is divine intervention if you ask me.

Soho House Tokyo is at the intersection of Japanese & English culture, add in some late night beats, a rooftop pool with panoramic views, wellness haven, vintage hotel rooms and a 90s style bistro dining hall right in the shopping district of Omotesando, Tokyo.

The hotel has to be some of the coolest and most tasteful rooms if you’re a “retro head” like myself. Each room with its own unique design has a 70s edge all with panoramic views.

Where else can you stay in Tokyo with access to a dedicated amazing sushi chef, a vibrant social club with an epic DJ, a wellness area, an outdoor roof top pool (rare sight in Tokyo) with just constant vibes! I’ll wait….

Tokyo has become extremely international in the past few years and probably one of the busiest cities to visit right now, so a place to escape the ‘hustle and bustle’ while socialising with probably some of the coolest people in Tokyo, it becomes a no brainer in my opinion.

I see this house being a major hit because I think that’s pretty self explanatory by now but did I mention you can get yourself an “Erewohn” style Soho House smoothie and they’re insanely good!

Soho House is coming back hotter than ever and I see big things from this pretty epic brand.

Who would’ve thought out of all the french cafes in Paris. The Milanese cafe would outshine many of the French Cafe’s in the French Capital?!

The vibes are beyond cool and electric. There’s something about the Parisian energy packed into a sexy Italian Cafe in centre of Paris that just WORKS!

the iconic Princess cake is their signature cake that everyone knows them for. Made up of pink marzipan flavoured cake with vanilla cream and traditional cake in the centre. It’s absolute chefs kiss! I always personally loved marzipan, though it is definitely an acquired taste but completely my vibe.

The main dishes are HIGH quality Italian staples. Made with love and flavour. Think Milanese Veal, pasta and all your favourites (well at least mine). The beauty is you can eat some delicious savoury food and then eat what you’ve actually arrived for, THE DESSERT!

The Sant Ambroeus effect is real and slowly taking over many big city lunch spots wherever they arrive. With plans to open up next in Beverly Hills later this year, I have no doubt they will dominate and add a much needed lunch spot in the Beverly Hills neighbourhood.

The idea that you could live this idealistic dream life while capturing it on video to share with the world and make a ton of money in the process?? How can anyone not be absolutely sold?!

As someone who spent most of last year living the “Travel Creator” life I had always dreamed of. Working with brands like The Four Seasons and many others. It was a great time but it comes with a tiring reality.

The truth is it can be a lot of fun but as viewers we only see the highlights. We see the perfectly curated content and the best parts but what about the bad? We don’t hear much of that. With good there always needs to be a bad and travel creating has its bad.

Being a creator gives you access to an aspect of life that not many ever experience but the difference is we are normal people (for the most part). Adapting to these short luxury stays are tough because the reality is they are short lived and after that we live modest lives and are not millionaires (for the most part). We essentially get to taste the good life without being able to sustain it afterwards. It has a torture aspect to it, because most people that can stay in the places I visit is just another day for them but for me I know when the stay is over, it’s really over.

Moving around constantly is a drag. Yes it’s fun to travel and thankfully I absolutely love it and I feel I’ll never get sick of it but I have to travel on the terms of my partners. On the dates they have availability, and not when I want to go. Which makes planning near impossible, your clock is constantly on everyone else’s availability rather than your own.

Other than the fact that this hotel made the White Lotus famous, the San Domenico Palace FS Taormina is something out of this world. If season 2 did not take place here, White Lotus probably wouldn’t even be a big deal.

The swimming pool truly is the show stopper and I think the most iconic part of the hotel so let’s start there.

The pool area is what truly sets this place apart (even though everything else is even better than you can imagine). The pool area overlooks the cliffs of Taormina, with immaculate vibes. While being served all day lying by this pool was a bucket list experience. The aesthetic in itself of the pool area defines the “White Lotus” vibe and even though there are many other beautiful hotels out there, this to me is the OG White Lotus Pool area.

Start your day spoilt rotten by some of the best Italian breakfast spreads you might ever witness with a view you could only dream of.

The rooms are just effortlessly classy and EXTREMELY comfortable. It’s a hotel that doesn’t try to be luxury it just naturally feels like you are in ultimate luxury without it feeling like the hotel is even trying.

The property also has as an underground spa underneath the swimming area which is amazing to have once you’ve had enough of the pool area you can creep down there and have the most relaxing down time.

This place truly is the gift that just keeps on giving because the sunset in itself is a reason to visit. Overlooking pretty much the entire area it surrounds , choice of cliff sides and volcanos. This sunset is in its own league & believe me I’ve seen my fair share and this one has to be number 1.

At night the property gives you a real show with all the lights. Every part of the day is truly a unique and different experience that I can’t even tell which is my favourite part of the day @ FS Taormina.

Then when you are truly ready to get the night started you can make your way to their 1 Michelin Star Restaurant Principe Cerami serving you authentic and mouth watering Sicilian Food over looking the cliffs at night.

The building was also a Catholic Monastery in its day so they have kept the church history going strong and it’s beautiful to just admire it and walk around once you have finished dining away.

To date the San Domenico Palace, Four Seasons Taormina is my favourite stay and I think it’s going to be really hard to top this one for me personally. This hotel defined the biggest series of our generation and staying there was even better than I had imagined it would have been. This is why I personally think this hotel is unbeatable but time will tell.

Staying at The Four Seasons in Firenze is the closest you can get to re-living history. They have preserved this 15th century building better than you can imagine.

the property is rich with style , class, history and most importantly TASTE. It sums up what a quintessential Four Seasons stay in Europe should look & feel like.

I felt like a “kid in a candy store” the moment I entered this room which the upgrade came at a complete surprise to me. I was not going to waste a second of this opportunity to stay at one of the most premiums rooms in Italy / Europe / The world. Having grown up in the 90s this was my “Richie Rich” moment I have been waiting to live since I was a kid.

Every inch of this room has honoured its rich history from the murals on the ceiling, the furniture down to the floor there is nothing inconsistent about a stay in the Royal Suite at the FS Florence.

What is it about doing something so simple like watching sport in an ultra luxury hotel suite that just completely elevates the experience. Perhaps the smell and comfort of your surroundings or maybe just the indulgence of luxury is just calls for the basics like watching a game of china in tennis which I probably wouldn’t give much time anywhere else.

The Bathroom is fit for a prince / princess. It’s exactly what you would imagine a ultra luxury royal suite bathroom to look like but honestly experiencing a bath or shower here will make you feel the part.

You might think the above photo is a common area of the hotel but no this is the hall way between the rooms of the Royal Suite. The room in itself is big enough to be a boutique hotel. This rich historical hall way sets the tone for your stay in the suite and is the first thing you are exposed to as you enter this monstrosity of a hotel room.

Four Seasons has a discreet way of showcasing their amazing brand throughout the room and it’s done subtly that it just gently reminds you exactly where you are staying but not in an overbearing way at all. It almost perfectly sums up the saying "money talks, wealth whispers.”

The living area feels like somewhere a high profile business person would take important phone calls from. Like when you watch a movie and the CEO answers the phone somewhere extremely lush, that is exactly what this living room felt like to me.

Now we all love luxury who doesn’t but sometimes what sums up true luxury is the small things. Like the notes they have behind, the delicious Italian chocolates left for you daily so when you get back to your gigantic luxury suite after a long day in Florence, you can sit in bed and watch a movie while enjoying a delicious treat.

Did I mention that they make a pretty mean breakfast too? Well yeah I mean just look at how you start the day everyday at the FS Firenze.

for me personally, if the breakfast does not absolutely blow me away in the morning no matter how luxury the room or hotel is, it brings down the experience by a mile and as you can see the FS Florence doesn’t not disappoint here in the slightest.

It’s hard for me to go back to a normal life after all of this but I’ll say this, if heaven is anything like staying at the Royal Suite @ the Four Seasons Firenze in Florence then best I start being on my best behaviour.

The weather was hot but not boiling. Beach clubs had no minimum spend and were able to pay full attention to me when I was there. Less money and better service? Why are we even having this argument still. I understand for some they can only get off work / school during certain times of the year but people that only travel to peak places in peak seasons baffle me. This hotel BLEW me away for many reasons but I am going to start off with the vibe and amenities. This Hotel has a unique ability to bring everyone together. It’s kind of like the feeling of being on a small luxury cruise ship where everyone there is in it together and even though Positano might be a busy town on The Amalfi Coast, that does not stop Le Sirenuse from being extremely exclusive. which gives you the best of both. A busy location where you can see everything around you with a Panoramic view of Postitano but at the same time while being in a secluded masterpiece. Not to mention Le Sirenuse deserves a season of White Lotus, it’s relaxed & social setting allows for interesting interactions continually throughout your stay. like a mix between soho house & white lotus with ultimate luxury & seclusion.

Similar to Hotel La Palma in Capri their brand new Vineta Hotel will be collaborating with the London based Reuben Brothers who bought the Old Chesterfield Hotel property in Palm Beach where the new Vineta Hotel will be situated & this will be another joint-venture between the Reuben Brothers & Oetker Hotels.

Like Oetker Hotels tend to be more behind the scenes and let their propeties do the talking. I personally am extremely excited about this opening but probably for different reasons than most.

My take is that we are in a transition with travel. Traditional hot spots are not that hot anymore. When it comes to the over done ”Courchevel’s” of the world which has gone trashy in my opinion and to believe that at some point was the epitome of luxury skiing.

The new luxury is in seclusion.

I want to be somewhere picturesque, something that isn’t overdone that feels authentic & beautiful at the same time & that is what truly excites me about this opening.

Aman is a master at matching the scenery with their state of the art hotels allowing the luxury to just be an added benefit rather than the only selling point. They know how to truly ingrain their hotels wherever they are so that you feel like you are living the most effortlessly authentic holiday and it just comes naturally.

THE ALPINE IS NOT JUST BUILT FOR WINTER

I think the fact that this is a ski hotel but it’s debuting in the summer is absolutely genius. It allows people to see and experience the true Italian Alpine beauty in all its glory before the cold starts to settle in. No doubt this place will be extra special in the winter but there is something about experiencing it in the sun with longer days and less layers that just feels right.

BOREDOM WILL NOT EXIST AT THE NEW AMAN ROSA ALPINA

because when you’re not skiing or hiking in some of the most picturesque surroundings ..

You have access to some new additional facilities such as a Spa-with three swimming pools (two indoor, one outdoor), a Jacuzzi, and treatments inspired by the Dolomites' natural restorative properties-along with game rooms & three private cinemas!

My opinion is this hotel will change the game when it comes to high end luxury alpine holidays and I think might just set a new standard in Europe putting the Dolomites at number 1. Let me know if you guys are as excited as I am?

Below is the first ever Four Seasons hotel that opened in 1961 in Downtown Toronto simply as a stopover for business people traveling to Toronto. They had no intention of becoming what they are today but even this hotel was just effortlessly iconic so they were onto something without even realising it.

With the new digital age and AI becoming the new norm for creative concepts, I believe nostalgia is stronger than ever. We miss the old days of Authenticity and “being present”. If you travel to most hotspot destinations in season they have become overly crowded and we tend to now compare everything to “the good old days”. Places like The Four Seasons has tapped into that nostalgia and made it their identity

There truly is nothing more iconic than a good Four Seasons property and they know that. Theres something about the idea of saying “I am staying at The Four Seasons” that can silence any hater. No hotel quite has that same effect and as we all know there are some pretty fascinating hotels but still none quite like The Four Seasons.

THE WHITE LOTUS EFFECT?!

White Lotus showed us exactly what kind of luxury we have been yearning for. Quiet luxury and class has completely exceeded the millennial era of loud champagne spraying, name brands, overly modern hotels and pretty much any opportunity you have to show that you have money is thankfully a thing of the past. Less is more and once again The Four Seasons know this…

The White Lotus effect is real and has a hold on pretty much all of us. We all want to re-live Season 2 at The White Lotus Taormina and have our own shot at finding love or some other crazy experience there and rightfully so, I mean look at the place!

FOUR SEASONS NEWEST OPENINGS?!

Four Seasons is about to debut their first ever location on the Greek Island of Mykonos in the summer of 2025 and many of us are struggling to accept or come to terms with this. Mykonos as an Island was one of the most iconic and cosmopolitan islands of its day and sadly it ended up becoming an Ibiza 2.0. which no one asked for but here we are.

FOUR SEASONS MAKING MYKONOS GREAT AGAIN?

Some might see this as a bad thing as they believe Mykonos isn’t necessarily cool anymore? I still adore the Island and have many fond memories visiting the Island myself and it sure is not what it used to be …

Hotels like Four Seasons brings a sense of restoration and class to places like Mykonos that have sadly lost its way and I think where we see a Four Seasons is a start to something good in places that have potentially lost its way.

FOUR SEASONS COMING TO GSTAAD?!

Now there is another side to this Four Seasons obsession… I believe in places like Mykonos and certain destinations a Four Seasons can only uplift a location that needed some flare. You pop a Four Seasons there and you know you’ll get a ton of American tourists flocking there and helping the local economy or adding a luxury factor that was maybe missing but when it comes to GSTAAD it couldn’t be a complete opposite. GSTAAD as a destination is famous for being a place that the 0.000001% can enjoy without being bothered by too many loud obnoxious tourists.

Gstaad does not need tourism money. With the recent growth in popularity that has now put Gstaad on the map from a low-key hangout for the ultra wealthy to now one of the major hotpots is not sitting well with many. & Now with the Four Seasons taking over The Park Gstaad hotel which is busy with a revamp and will be reopening as a Four Seasons Hotel in 2026 this will be the first American Hotel Chain to break ground in this ultra luxury & authentic Swiss ski resort.
