Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

My fiancé keeps suggesting things I should change about my appearance before our wedding.

It started with my hair. Then teeth whitening. Then he suggested we both “get in amazing shape.” Then he specifically suggested I lose ten pounds.

Last week he sent me the Instagram page of a med spa. Botox. Filler. Facials. Everything.

He said he’d pay for me to get “whatever I wanted” before the wedding. I told him I didn’t want anything.

He said, “You might as well. We’re spending all this money on photography.”

We’re spending money on photography, so I should upgrade my face?

I finally asked him if he thinks I’m beautiful now. He said, “Of course. I just want both of us to look our absolute best.”

Our wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of my life.

Instead I’m standing in front of the mirror finding things wrong with myself that I wasn’t thinking about six months ago.

At my engagement party dinner last night, my future father-in-law got drunk and told me that my fiancé cheated on me.

He pulled me aside and said there’s a lot I don’t know about his son. He referenced his past. Said some of it carried into our present and how it won’t stop in the future.

He never straight up said he cheated but that’s what it sounds like, right?

I asked my fiance the next day about it and he said that his dad is a character and that I don’t know him well. He likes to stir up drama and he says weird things.

I can’t let this go. It’s driving me crazy. What do I do?

Getting back in my workout routine with these…

I took the last 5-weeks off of working out to let my big precious broken toe heal and while that journey is still…a journey…I’m feeling OK to move a little again. So I’m back wearing these on my arms and ankles and doing simple workouts that go a looong way. Try one of these workouts. They make me scream by the end.

I’ve been having one of these packs a day lately. Nuts for protein and the other fun things inside are great mid-day pick-me-ups. I also keep a few in the glove compartment of our car for long rides when I forget to pack real food to eat.

Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

My best friend got engaged six months ago and I’ve barely spoken to her since.

It’s not that she disappeared overnight. It’s slower than that. More like she dialed me down.

Before the engagement, we talked every day. Now my messages get responses hours later. Our calls went from weekly to once a month if I initiate. She canceled our last three plans because of wedding stuff.

When I do see her she talks about the wedding for the entire time. I sit there and ask questions and feel like a prop in her happiness.

I brought it up once gently and she said I was being unsupportive.

I’m not unsupportive. I’m just lonely for the friendship that existed before she had something more important to pay attention to.

I don’t know how to tell her that I miss her without sounding like I’m competing with her engagement.

We’re at the point in summer where less is more when it comes to the fabric you wrap around your body. I’ve been living in my pajamas jeans but it’s now 98 degrees and those jeans are not helping my overacting sweat glands that like to make themselves known to passerby. Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

I’ve been with my boyfriend for two years and he’s perfect on paper. Genuinely. Kind, stable, employed, family-oriented, emotionally available. Everyone loves him.

I’m not sure I’m in love with him anymore.

It happened slowly. I stopped wanting to tell him things first. I stopped missing him when he traveled. When he talks about our future, I feel something I can only describe as dread.

Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

I’m 34, I’ve been single for three years, and I’m starting to think something might actually be wrong with me.

I’m not saying that for sympathy. I’m saying it because I’ve done the work. Therapy. The apps. Saying yes to setups. Going to things I didn’t want to go to. Putting myself out there in every way people tell you to.

I’ve been on maybe sixty dates in the last three years. A handful went somewhere. One lasted four months before he decided he wasn’t over his ex. One ended when I found out he’d been dating someone else the whole time.

My friends are married. Some are on their second kids. I am genuinely happy for them. I also spent last Saturday night eating crackers in bed watching a documentary about cults because I had nothing else to do.

I go to weddings alone. I leave early. I drive home and wonder what I’m doing wrong.

Everyone says it happens when you stop looking. That’s not helpful advice. I’ve tried that too.

I’m not desperate. I’m tired. There’s a difference.

My ex reached out six months after we broke up and said he made a mistake. The problem is I spent those six months actually getting over him. And now I don’t know what I want.

We dated for two years. The breakup was his idea. He said he wasn’t ready for something serious. I was devastated in the way that changes you a little.

I did the work. I stopped checking his Instagram. I started actually sleeping again. I made plans that had nothing to do with him.

Then he texted.

Just: “Hey. I’ve been thinking about you. Can we talk?”

We talked for three hours on the phone. He said he’d been wrong. That he’d realized what he had and walked away from it. He sounded different. More honest.

And I felt myself getting pulled back in like the last six months hadn’t happened.

But I also know who I was when I was trying to get over him. I was really sad. For a long time.

I don’t know if taking him back is a second chance or just repeating the same lesson.

The best white t-shirt in the entire world…

This is the beeeesstt summer t-shirt in the entire world. It’s amazing quality, not thin at all, and under $20. I bought a few in white and black so I can just toss them on every day. They are cropped and a boxy fit. I sized up (medium) because I like my tops a little baggy and I like to let them shrink in the wash :). Truly do not spend a ton of money on t-shirts when your armpit sweat will likely stain them if your mustard does not first. Get this shirt!

Using ChatGPT to fix my makeup :)

A couple of weeks ago, I put a photo of myself into ChatGPT and said: teach me how to fix my makeup.

The best suggestion it gave me was to swap my mascara color and try a new brand that has an applicator that curls your lashes when you apply the makeup.

This is not an ad! I bought this based on ChatGPT’s suggestion and gave it a whirl.

The guy I dated for a year in college.

She said they reconnected recently. That he’s “changed.” That he’s important to her now. And since she’s my maid of honor, she assumed I’d be okay with it.

I told her absolutely not.

She said hat this was her chance to “live her truth” and tell me that she’s been with him for months.

I don’t want my ex at my wedding.

Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

I accidentally saw the group chat where my bridesmaids were talking about me.

I wasn’t snooping. I swear.

One of my bridesmaids asked me to send her a photo from my phone. She swiped too far while I was standing right there.

And there it was.

A group chat I wasn’t in. Named: “Bridezilla Support”

Later that night, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So I did the thing I know I shouldn’t have done. I asked another bridesmaid if there was a separate chat without me.

She sighed and said yes.

They started it because I’d been “too much lately.” Too stressed. Too emotional. Too focused on the wedding. They said they needed a space to vent so they could still “show up happy” around me.

Then she showed me screenshots.

Messages about how exhausting I am. Jokes about my budget panic. Comments about my body changing since dress fittings. One person even wrote, “I can’t wait until this is over so she can go back to normal.”

My wedding is in six weeks. Now I don’t know what hurts more. The things they said. Or knowing they said them together.

My best friend got married last weekend. I found out on Instagram.

We talk every day. Voice notes. Long text threads. We’ve been best friends since high school. Sixteen years.

Last Friday she told me she was going on a work trip for the weekend and would be mostly offline. I told her to have fun and send pictures.

Sunday night, I was scrolling Instagram and saw a wedding photo. Desert venue. White dress. Flowers. And there she was. My best friend. Married.

I wasn’t there. I wasn’t invited. I wasn’t even told.

I called her immediately. She answered happy and tipsy and tried to continue the work-trip lie until I said I’d seen the photos.

She said she didn’t invite me because she thought I’d try to stop her. They’ve only been together ten months and she didn’t want opinions or stress. She said she wanted the day to be “drama-free.”

She told me there would be a bigger wedding next year and I’d be her maid of honor then.

But this wasn’t a courthouse thing. This was a real wedding. And I wasn’t part of it.

My boyfriend keeps a spreadsheet of everything he’s ever done for me. Last night he showed it to me and said, “Look how much I love you. The data proves it.”

We’ve been together three years. He’s always been organized, type-A, very into systems. I thought it was harmless.

Until he opened his laptop.

The spreadsheet had multiple tabs. One tracked money he’s spent on me. Dates, restaurants, totals. Another listed every favor he’s done. Another logged the hours he’s listened to me vent. Another counted compliments, hugs, and how often he says “I love you.”

He scrolled through charts like he was proud.

I told him love isn’t something you audit. That keeping score feels… unsettling.

Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

My fiancé’s wealthy grandmother just told me she’s leaving me out of her will unless I sign a prenup that leaves me with nothing if we divorce—and my fiancé thinks I should do it.

The prenup is brutal. No alimony, no shared assets, not even half of what we build together. I’d also have to waive any claim to his inheritance, which could be huge since his family owns multiple properties and businesses.

What stings most is how my fiancé responded. He says his grandmother is just “protecting the family” and that signing proves I love him for him, not his money. But when I fell for him, he was broke, living in a studio and driving a beat-up Honda. I’ve never cared about his money—I didn’t even know he had any.

The part I can’t shake is that he’s fine with a contract that would leave me completely vulnerable. When I said it felt unfair, he brushed me off: “We’ll never get divorced, so it doesn’t matter.” But if that’s true, why does his family need protection—and why doesn’t he care about protecting me?

Am I being selfish for refusing, or is this a giant red flag that he sees me as replaceable if things go wrong?

Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

My boyfriend is about to propose and instead of being excited, I’m panicking. Not because of him, but because I don’t have any close friends to celebrate with or stand by me at a wedding.

Over the years, I let friendships fade. I have work acquaintances and gym buddies, but no one I’d call with big news. My college and high school friends drifted away long ago. The idea of posting an engagement online and getting a few generic “congrats” comments makes me want to cry.

Meanwhile, he’ll have five groomsmen. The thought of standing up there with a bridal party of one feels humiliating.

I love him and I want to marry him, but I can’t shake the sadness of having no one to share it with. Part of me wonders if I should even tell him to hold off proposing until I figure my friendships out—but that feels crazy.

My fiancé has been lying about going to work for six weeks—and I only found out because I ran into him at a coffee shop.

I was working from home and decided to step out for a change of scenery. When I walked in, there he was, sitting alone with his laptop. At first I thought maybe he had a meeting nearby, but when I asked why he wasn’t at the office, he froze. That’s when the truth came out: he was fired over a month ago.

He admitted he’s been pretending to go to work every day—sitting in cafés and libraries—because he was too embarrassed to tell me. Meanwhile, we’ve been paying for wedding expenses, our honeymoon, and even our apartment deposit, all assuming his income was still coming in.

The wedding is three months away, and now I’m staring at two problems: money we don’t have, and trust I’m not sure we can rebuild. If he can lie about this, how will he handle bigger crises?

Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

My best friend ended our friendship right before I got engaged.

Sarah and I were inseparable for five years. She was supposed to be my maid of honor. Then, out of nowhere about six months ago, she told me I’d “changed” and that she didn’t want to be friends anymore. No real explanation, no examples, just that she was done. I was blindsided.

Two months later, I got engaged. Within hours of posting, Sarah commented: So happy for you! You deserve all the love in the world ❤️.

I thought that meant she was ready to make up. But when I messaged her, she ignored me. Weeks later, she finally responded: “I’m glad you’re happy, but I don’t think we should be friends anymore.”

What makes it harder is that she still engages with my posts. Publicly, she looks like the thoughtful, supportive friend. Privately, she wants nothing to do with me.

Now wedding planning feels bittersweet. I keep thinking about how she should be here for the dress shopping, the flower decisions, all the little things.

Do I keep trying to repair things, or accept that she made her choice, even if it makes no sense?

1. I’m bopping around the apartment wearing these. They are so comfy that I probably spend 8-hours+ a day in them.

2. The most complimented outfit I’ve worn all winter (it says a lot about the cozy vibe I’m aiming for) is this top and matching joggers. Plus I love being in lazy in but when I put on boots or sneakers and wear it out, it’s presentable and put-together.

3. We as a family voted (Adam, Goofy, and Gemma) and this blanket is the best purchase of 2026. It’s the softest blanket you will ever toss on your couch. It’s been so chilly here I also have one for over my bed blanket to stay extra warm at night.

4. A bit of a splurge but this cropped down jacket with a hood is my go-to for the 30’s and 40’s. I pull out my full-length puffer for the days when we’re almost single digits.

5. Finally, all the girlies in Brooklyn are wearing these shoes. They replaced New Balance sneakers as the go-to. I love them because they are waterproof, comfy, and keep my feet super warm - even in light snow.

I’m getting married in a few weeks, and out of nowhere, the universe threw me a curveball: I ran into the ex I thought I was completely over.

We dated in our twenties—wild, passionate, addictive, and messy. It ended badly, over a stupid fight about moving in together, and neither of us was willing to swallow our pride. I hadn’t seen him in years… until last week.

It was like no time had passed. We talked for hours about how much we’ve both grown. He admitted he still thinks about me, that he regrets letting me go, that he’s never stopped loving me. He didn’t try to sabotage my wedding—he just left me with those words and walked away.

Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

My best friend just stole my wedding.

We got engaged a few months apart, and I couldn’t wait to share ideas with her. I showed her everything—my rustic barn venue, my sage green and cream colors, eucalyptus flowers, even my vendor list.

Then she announced her plans—and it was like looking in a mirror. Same barn venue. Same color palette. Same flower arrangements. Even the same photographer and style of dress. It’s not just similar—it’s identical to what I’ve been planning for months.

When I asked her about it, she brushed me off: “We just have the same taste.” But it doesn’t feel like taste—it feels like theft. She also said why does it matter? Only 32 of her 150 guests will be at my wedding too. Still, all those people are going to see her wedding first and assume I’m the one who copied.

She’s supposed to be my best friend. And instead of celebrating with me, she turned my wedding into her blueprint. Her wedding is in 6 months and mine is in 9 months.

Do I call her out for stealing my wedding—or bite my tongue and let everyone think I’m unoriginal?

A few months ago I went out with a bunch of friends, and I can’t shake what happened. My friend, let’s call her Mary, is engaged, but the whole night she was openly flirting with some guy at the club. At first I thought it was harmless, just tipsy fun, but then they disappeared together. I didn’t see her again for the rest of the night.

The next morning, she acted totally normal, like nothing had happened. There’s a chance she didn’t actually cheat, but rumors are already swirling in our friend group that she hooked up with him.

I don’t know what to think. Do I ask her directly? Pretend I didn’t notice? Or do I owe it to her fiancé to say something if I really believe she crossed the line?
