01 - THE ONLY SNEAKERS I APPROVE OF. I am a certified sneaker hater. But my recent summer trip to Italy taught me that I need at least one pair in my wardrobe (lesson learned from my tired feet in flip flops lol). These ones are approved & I will be ordering for fall!

02 - SPF THAT YOUR EXCITED TO PUT ON. This stuff looks amazing under makeup. Gives me the best glow! I am not one to obsess over a beauty product 9/10 times. This one is a forever product for me!

03 - LOVES A SPORTY SWEATER. This brand is also killing it right now. Talk about the classics with a fun twist. Exactly my speed.

04 - BEEN LOVING A FUN EARRING. Especially for a good price…these ones are less than $60 & a beautiful statement. I will not be investing in anything real diamond anytime soon with these bad boys.

05 - NAVY GOING OUT BAG. It’s taken everything in me not to order this one on a whim. It’s just perfect! Perfect for out to dinner, fun day event, or a night out. Ch!c, minimal, something you won’t ever get sick of.

PS: You will get out of your funk! I saw a tiktok the other day that reminded me this (sadly cannot remember the username) & I didn’t realize how much I needed it. No matter how long your funk has been. A year, a few months, a few weeks…you will reach the other side! YOU GOT THIS!

01 - WRAP COAT OF MY DREAMS. I am not exaggerating when I say this might be top 2 purchases of all time for me. 100% wool, incredibly warm, effortless, comfortable. I wear this with jeans to dinner or with lounge pants to grab coffee! FAB. (I wear an XS, but many sizes would work)

02 - 100% COTTON VNECK TEE. Speaks for itself! I have both the navy and white colors. I’ve reaching for this over a normal white tee lately. Slight vneck adds something fun & feminine. (TTS - I wear a small)

03 - CUTEST FALL CLOGS. To replace your flip flops this fall. Clogs done the right way are, dare I say, chic! Functional, comfortable & something to slip on as you are running out the door. These get my stamp of approval.

04 - OSEA BODY OIL. Little luxury that is well worth the splurge. I’ve honestly never met an OSEA product I didn’t like. I put this on right out of the shower and feel toned & hydrated.

05 - NO PLAN, STROLLING SUNDAY. I have a new rule for Sundays, and that is there will be no set plans. Sundays are my time to do whatever the hell I want to do. If that means sitting on the couch all day…so be it! Normally I find myself strolling around Venice, popping into shops, and grabbing a coffee. In no rush whatsoever! And thats the beauty of it.

PS: You can restart your day, week, month…at any time you please. You don’t have to wait for Monday, a new month, or the “perfect” time to get back into the things that make you feel good. Begin again!

I stick with 3 non negotiable that I need to get done, and brain dump the rest underneath. Removes any friction the next day when you sit down to work.

05 - PERFECT CALIFORNIA PANT. Many compliments on these this week! My mom had a pair of shorts similar to these growing up. Cool & timeless. I wear a size 2 for reference, and they run a tad loose!

03 - TAN POPLIN PANTS. Just did a little splurge on these tan cotton poplin pants & they are fabulous. This is a semi new brand for me, but it feels like the beginning of a lifetime LOL. The pants I throw on with a white tee when I want to be casual and feel fab. (TTS - I wear a small)

04 - FRESH & EXTRA CHARGERS. There comes a time in our lives where we must replace our old apple chargers. I had duck tape lining my computer charger for a full year, and this was the week! I ordered fresh chargers for my phone & laptop (and an extra one for around the house/travel) and I feel like I have my life together now lol.

05 - ORGANIC COTTON UNDIES. A must. I did a refresh on Pact (a brand I trust with my life for things like this) last week & I am a happy camper. Officially got rid of all my other undies & very happy about it! (TTS - I wear smalls)

Whenever I start a new one, I come up with a theme for the next few months. Something that I want to come back to over and over again when life inevitably gets busy.

This journal’s theme is:

“Slowing down, without falling behind.”

Let me explain…

A few months ago, I realized something.

I was busy all day long, but I wasn’t necessarily feeling productive at the end of the day. I was going to bed with important things overdue, a scary amount of unread text messages, and the anxiety that comes with having way too many unclosed loops.

My days felt completely full. My screen time was embarrassingly high. I was answering emails at 11pm, consuming, creating, planning... and somehow I still felt behind.

I remember in my past corporate jobs, a big conversation piece was everyone taking about was how stressed and busy they were…as if that was something to be proud of. ‘

Because if we’re constantly doing something, we must be progressing in our careers, right? If we are stressed and busy, that means that business is booming?

But being busy and being productive are not at all the same thing. Also - being busy is not a personality trait!

I’ve noticed some of my best ideas, clearest thoughts, and biggest breakthroughs have happened when I’ve slowed down. And created enough space in my brain to think clearly.

Here are a few things I've changed recently that have made a huge difference.

1. My phone locks me out of social media every night at 9 PM.

Guys…I bought myself a Brick! So crazy to me that I needed to buy this $50 gadget to LOCK me out of my phone (hello? are we all okay haha).

Every night at 9 PM, all of my social media apps are locked until 8:30 the next morning. On a schedule.

There’s no “just five more minutes”, no accidentally ending up on TikTok for 45 minutes.

At 9 PM, the day is over.

I make my tea. I journal. I clean my space. I sit with my thoughts.

Whatever I’m working on can wait until tomorrow. No if, ands or buts.

One day, maybe my cutoff becomes 6 PM. But right now, 9 PM is a boundary I can actually keep.

I get more sleep, a quieter mind, and wake up excited to start working in the morning. Not to mention, I find myself more productive during the day, as I know a late night work session is not in the cards!

2. I’ve stopped working on weekends.

And more importantly, I’ve stopped feeling guilty about it.

TBH - there are times that I make an exception here. Sometimes something is due on a Monday morning and due to the nature of my job, I choose to be flexible!

But most of the time - the weekends are a time to unplug.

Sometimes I choose to catch up on work. Sometimes I don’t.

But I have taken the pressure off completely.

I’ve noticed that when I give myself real space away from work, I come back with more energy, more creativity, and better ideas. & I think you will feel the same!

3. I’ve stopped checking everything, all day long.

This one has been huge.

For the longest time, my workday felt like one giant game of ping-pong. This might be amplified for me because of my ADHD brain lol.

I am someone who naturally will have 50 tabs open at once, and be working on a different project every 20 minutes.

As fun as this sounds…I was noticing nothing was ever getting fully finished at the end of the day. I would finish the day with 6 different projects halfway done, which explains why I wasn’t feeling productive, yet still feeling burnt out at the end of the day.

Lately, I’ve been trying to systemize my days a little more.

The first hour of my day I have a very specific to do. I set a timer. Then I move on and repeat just that!

Having designated times for specific things throughout my day (creative VS admin work, etc) has helped me stop living in reaction mode.

Instead of constantly responding to what’s coming at me, I’m deciding when I engage with it.

4. Every night, I choose my 3 non-negotiables for the next day.

Most nights before bed, I brain dump. I write out everything on my brain that needs to get done…from personal things to work things.

Then, I circle 3 things - the 3 most important/urgent things that need to get done that next day.

You guessed it! The next morning, I start with number one, and make my way down the list.

Productivity isn’t about checking the most boxes…it’s about getting the most important things done as early as possible.

At the end of the day, if those three important things are done, I go to sleep happier!

5. I’m trying to stop perfecting things before I share them.

This one I’m still very much actively working on! I think somewhere along the way, especially as creative people, we start believing that everything we put into the world needs to be fully formed before anyone can see it.

I find myself putting so much pressure on myself to create the perfect thing that I end up creating nothing at all.

Reminder: The world doesn’t need your perfect ideas. It just needs your ideas as is!

It’s easier to spend 15 hours a day working, bouncing between a million different tasks, never fully turning work off. It’s a lot harder to set boundaries, say no to certain things, and prioritize rest in a society that doesn’t necessarily encourage it.

Give yourself permission to slow down, set boundaries, and perhaps you will find yourself even more productive in the process :)

To be completely honest, as I was packing, I got a little caught up in the aesthetics of it all. I romanticized every day and every outfit (as we tend to do when we are excited about a trip) and completely ignored the fact that I was living out of a carry-on for two weeks.

I pictured myself floating around in beautiful white dresses, perfectly styled every day. The reality was I was hot, salty, carrying my luggage up stairs, getting ready in tiny boat bathrooms, and repeating the same handful of pieces over and over again.

So instead of showing you every single outfit I packed - I wanted to share what I actually wore, what never left the suitcase, and what I’d bring if I packed for this trip again tomorrow.

Also... can we talk about how much white I packed?

I didn’t realize it until I unpacked everything. As much as I love a white dress moment, white gets dirty, shows sweat, and sometimes I don’t want to feel like a fairy princess hahah

The pieces I ended up wanting in my suitcase were darker, more practical, and easier to throw on when I was tired, overheated, or just wanted to enjoy the trip instead of thinking about my outfit.

If I Packed Again Tomorrow

For a 2-week summer trip to Europe (carry-on only), this is exactly what I’d pack:

• 2 staple tanks - my two favorites from banana republic, high neck & vneck

• 1 boatneck tee - staple, size up

• 1 classic white tee - I spurged on this one from leset but recently found this one for $50 that is fabulous

• 2 flowy shirts - love this white one from down and this black one from jcrew!

Why: Every outfit I repeated…started with one of these tops!

Bottoms (5)

• 2 shorts - I wish I had these poplin ones for my trip, along with these from jcrew in tan! you also cant go wrong with the perfect linen short

• 1 lightweight pant - these linen pants (not in white they r see through, love other colors) and my fav gap cotton ones

• 1 easy skirt - doen Sebastiane skirt will be the best purchase you will ever make

Why: I wore shorts far more than I expected!! It’s HOT HOT in Europe right now.

At the end of the day…if you can't picture yourself wearing it while sweaty, hungry, carrying a big tote bag, and trying to unlock your airbnb after walking 20,000 steps in 95 degree weather, it doesn't make the suitcase.

It genuinely brings me joy. I love clothes, I love getting dressed, I love finding pieces that feel like me.

Last year, I went through a little phase of justifying every purchase with the fact that it was “intentional”, which in theory is amazing. But after a year of expensive, intentional purchases, I realized this -

Just because it was intentional & a “thought out purchase” - it was still a purchase?

These purchases were still draining my bank account & filling up my 400 sqft apartment pretty rapidly.

So in the beginning of 2026 , I got really honest with myself.

Personally, completely cutting myself off from shopping never really goes to plan. I don’t shop for a few weeks, but then I overspend the next month.

So I wanted to create habits and put things into place that were realistic.

This year, I’m not doing anything extreme, but I have put specific things in place to hold me accountable to shopping & spending less.

Here are 6 small, tangible ways I’m taking back control!

1. Unsubscribing from everything that creates urgency

This one alone has changed so much for me.

I’ve been unsubscribing from:

• Marketing emails (there is normally a little unsubscribe button on the top right…so easy!)

• Brand text messages (respond “stop” lol )

• Muting/unfollowing social media accounts that you do not align with (normalize doing this! you have the ability to curate your feed to YOU)

• Unfollowing brand accounts (so I am not the first one to know about a new collection dropping)

This all sounds so simple and obvious but holy sh!t it has made all the difference. These are things that create a false sense of urgency that isn’t actually ours.

When you remove the constant reminders to buy… you realize how little you actually need.

2. Deleting shopping apps off my phone

I am still mourning this one (I miss my late night ebay/real real scrolls lol) but cannot explain to you how much this has helped me take back control.

I deleted apps like:

• RealReal

• Depop

• Ebay

• Postmark

These weren’t just apps living on my phone…they had turned into habits.

I caught myself scrolling out of boredom and next thing you know - I have a $200 RealReal purchase on the way!

Out of sight, out of mind. TRUST! DELETE!

& when you do want to shop second hand for something (love this) - redownload for the day or pull it up on your laptop.

3. Creating personal “shopping guidelines”

Okay does anyone remember the trend from a few months ago of people sharing what they’re not buying in 2026? This is my version of that -

No super strict rules…just guidelines that help me stay aligned.

A few of mine right now:

• No buying black (I have so much and rarely reach for it)

• No more jeans!! I already have my favorites.

• No purchases past 8pm (game changer.)

• No cheap sunglasses. Only these very specific vintage oval ones I want haha

• Only festival & Italy vacation purchases from now until May! (the rest of the wishlist is non urgent & can wait)

Everyone’s will look different of course, but having some kind of realistic framework has helped me so much.

4. Documenting outfits I actually feel good in

Any time I wear something I love, I take a photo. You can go as far to add these to their own album hehe.

Then when you are:

• Getting ready for a night out

• Going on a date

• Feeling like you “have nothing to wear”

You go back to reference those photos!!! Some of mine below :)

You don’t always need something new. Seriously.

You just need to remember what already makes you feel good in your own wardrobe!!!

5. Finding hobbies that aren’t centered around consumption

I know this one might get an eye roll hahah. I feel like in your mid 20s the word “hobby” is thrown around a lot & im often sick of hearing this.

But it matters!!! You should NOT be thinking about your next purchase for hours of the day. I stand by that. Even if you love fashion with your entire being.

So I’ve been trying to replace the time that was being spent scrolling and thinking about buying, with things that actually give me energy back:

• Working out

• Going on walks

• Spending time with friends (after work on weekdays included!)

• Reading

• Even just slower nights at home without my phone

Because when your life feels full…

you don’t feel the need to constantly fill it with things. Read that again!

Final Thoughts

These 5 things might seem simple and obvious, but they have really helped me buy less these past few months, and have made me aware of how our society wants us to think we need more and more and more. We have to do everything in our power to not get stuck into this way of thinking. It is not easy!

I also want to acknowledge something important -

I share links, I work with brands, I promote products… and I genuinely love doing it. With this said, I never want that to translate into you feeling like you need to buy, buy, buy.

Save things. Start a wishlist.
Everything I share is always there - in my highlights, in my posts. It’s not going anywhere! I promise!

Take a moment before purchasing. Go for a walk. Sleep on it.

To the girl who has tried literally everything when it comes to her skin. Or at least it feels that way.

I could not relate to you more. It’s honestly exhausting.

I catch myself in moments with friends (even my boyfriend!?), especially new friends, thinking about how my skin looks. After I teach a workout class… checking the mirror to make sure my makeup semi-stayed on to cover the redness.

My camera roll is filled with photos of my skin. “Progress” photos that never end up feeling like progress because the next week the same acne comes back.

It’s exhausting how much mental space it takes up. It honestly feels selfish!? I wish I didn’t care & could just live my life freely. And some days are a lot easier than others.

But I’m sick of my days being dictated by my breakouts.

I’m sick of planning a trip and praying three months in advance that I’ll wake up the day before with clear skin so I can fully enjoy it.

Acne can be incredibly isolating.

You look around and it feels like all your friends have perfectly clear skin. & don’t get me started on social media! Lighting and “natural makeup” convince us that everyone & their mother has never had a breakout in their life. I am very guilty of this most days as well.

& the advice from people who I know are just trying to help -

“Less is more.”

“The minute I stopped using fancy products, it all cleared up.”

Like girllllll… you think I haven’t tried that?

& then come the product recommendations.

I know people are just trying to help. I truly do appreciate it. And maybe one day something will work. But so far, nothing has. Or I just can’t get myself to commit to it.

I’ve had hormonal acne since I was 15. Mainly along my jaw & cheek area.

And I know what you’re thinking…it could be worse!

Yes. It absolutely could be. Part of me feels silly for talking about it as much as I do.

But the fact that this stubborn, painful, deep-rooted acne will not go away for the life of me just… kills me.

Ten years later, I’ve reached a point where I feel disheartened. I made some progress with a few lifestyle changes working with Allara Health (absolutely love them), but honestly, this year I kind of gave up.

I’ve accepted that this might just be my skin. Which is freeing in some ways. But it’s also complicated - because I don’t want to complain about something I feel like I’m not actively trying to fix.

I’m sharing this because I know there are people out there who feel the same. And it might not be about your skin. Maybe it’s another trait society quietly labels as unworthy or “not beautiful.”

That constant awareness of something you wish looked different.

With all of this said…id like to end on this note -

Here are a few things I’ve learned/gained from having acne:

1. Sharing my acne journey has connected me with so many incredible humans going through similar things. Creating a safe space for people to feel less alone makes me feel less alone.

2. Acne has challenged me to build confidence from within. Some days are harder than others, of course. But I know beauty is deeper than how clear our skin is on any given day. It comes from our heart and shines through.

3. It has pushed me to learn about ingredients, about my body, about what works and what doesn’t. About makeup techniques and clean beauty. Things I may have never explored otherwise.

Awareness.

Personal style isn’t something you suddenly “find.” It’s something you notice over time.

Most of what I know about my style came from trial and error. Buying things, wearing them, and then being honest with myself after the fact. As annoying as it is, every piece I bought and barely wore still taught me something.

For a long time, I thought figuring out my style meant choosing a lane and sticking to it. Minimal. Classic. Feminine. Tomboy. Effortless. But the more I tried to label it, the more boxed in I felt.

So instead, I started paying attention to patterns in my own life.

What outfits did I repeat without thinking?

What pieces or outfit formulas did I reach for on days I wanted to feel confident?

What did I wear when I wasn’t trying to impress anyone else?

This is where your authentic style lives.

The Difference Between Admiring and Wearing

One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was separating what I admired from what I actually wore.

There were so many outfits I loved on other people. Most of the time, these were people I looked up to online, with completely different lifestyles than me. I spent probably thousands of dollars trying to recreate those looks. And then the pieces would just sit in my closet.

Not because they weren’t cute.

But because they weren’t me.

They didn’t fit into my lifestyle. They didn’t fit into my personal style. Period.

You’re allowed to appreciate a style without making it your own. Admiring something does not mean it belongs in your closet!

Once I stopped forcing myself to dress like the version of me I thought I should be, getting dressed became a whole lot easier.

Trial and Error

This part takes time. YEARS. And it cannot be rushed.

Year one is experimenting. Year two and three are refining. You slowly start to notice what silhouettes you feel best in. What colors you gravitate toward. What trends you consistently skip.

Nothing needs to be rushed.

If you’re early in this process, the goal isn’t to have all the answers. It’s to start noticing.

What feels authentic?

What feels performative?

What feels comfortable in your body and your life?

Those answers build over time. And they build confidence too!

Start Where You Are

You don’t need to overhaul your closet to figure out your style. Honestly, doing that too early creates more confusion.

Start with what you already own.

Look at the pieces you’ve worn on repeat this month. Look at what you put on when you’re running late. Look at what you choose when you want to feel like yourself.

I had allll the “right” pieces. The basics everyone says you need. Items that were supposed to be timeless. But every time I had to get dressed…

Nothing ever fully felt right. I always felt this lack of something. What that something was…I was never sure.

I would put on the classic black blazer and straight-leg jeans, and technically it worked. But it didn’t feel like me. Something was always off, and I couldn’t quite figure it out.

It took me a while to realize it wasn’t me…

It was this concept of a “capsule wardrobe” I was trying to perfect. This style “box” that I was trying so hard to fit into.

We are taught that if we just owned the perfect combination of items. The blazer. The white tee. The straight leg jeans. The trench coat. Our closet would finally feel complete. But that idea assumes something that simply isn’t true…that we are all the same.

We’re not.

We have different bodies, different proportions, different lifestyles, different undertones, and different priorities. Even people with “basic” style, don’t wear basics the same way. So the idea that one formula could work for everyone never really made sense to me.

What frustrated me wasn’t the minimalism aspect. I loveeeee a wardrobe that is cohesive, and minimal. It was the pressure.

The constant feeling that if your closet doesn’t feel right, you must be missing something. That there is always one more item you need before your style magically works.

After seeing the phrase “capsule wardrobe” on every other store email I received, I started to notice something else.

The term “capsule wardrobe” has quietly turned into a marketing tool.

What was once meant to simplify, has slowly evolved into another way to sell more. Another reason to buy. Another reminder that your wardrobe isn’t done just yet. One more thing!!!!! Turns into ten. Because somehow, the capsule is never complete. There is always going to be a better blazer. An even more timeless trench coat. A more flattering jean shape.

It keeps you consuming in the name of intention.

But style doesn’t work like that.

You don’t ever complete a wardrobe.
You build one. Slowly, intentionally, and personally.

And that realization changed everything for me.

Instead of trying to perfect a capsule, I started building a wardrobe that feels like me.

As soon as I stopped trying to build a wardrobe for someone else’s approval, things felt different. I was finally content with my wardrobe. I started asking better questions. Not what should I own. But what do I actually wear. Not what’s missing. But what already works.

That shift is what this entire series is about.

This is part 1 of Building Your Dream Wardrobe. A slower, personal, honest approach to style that has nothing to do with checklists and everything to do with self-trust.

What outfit in my wardrobe do I feel the most confident & most myself in?

I’ve been getting so many questions about getting certified as an instructor, so I wanted to put everything in one place…exactly what I did, where I got certified, and what the experience was really like. Let’s get into it, shall we!

A Little Backstory

I started my workout journey officially during Covid in 2020.

That’s when I found Melissa Wood Health. A large portion of her workouts were Pilates-focused, and I had never done low-impact movement like that before. It was the first time I truly fell in love with movement…rather than it being just a chore to do at the end of the day. I highly recommend her workouts if you are just beginning! Me in 2020 below…obviously filming my workouts in my parents basement hahah.

I worked out on and off during the beginning college, but my junior/senior year I really started prioritizing my health and wellness. Then post-grad hit, and honestly… starting a new job makes consistency hard. I had on-and-off weeks and months.

But for the past two years, I’ve been pretty consistent with Pilates and yoga…learning what I love, what feels good, and what my body responds to.

Why I Decided to Get Certified

I had thought about becoming a Pilates instructor for a long time. I actually got my barre certification in college, but never ended up teaching. Still, the idea of instructing always stayed with me. And as I always say…follow that voice telling you to do something!!

A few months ago, I talked to one of my Pilates instructor friends, Anushka, and she told me she did the Mat Pilates Certification Course at Equinox. It was fully remote and around $895… I literally signed up the next day.

Sometimes you just know!

The Certification I Chose

I chose the Equinox Mat Pilates Certification, which is a live, virtual, interactive course designed to teach you how to lead a challenging, open-level Mat Pilates class.

I want to be really clear about what’s included, because I know how overwhelming this part can feel when you’re researching. You can also find all of this info on their website!

The course includes:

• A 6-day live virtual training

• A complete digital manual

• Access to course videos

• Supervision and feedback from multiple Pilates educators

• A lot of practice teaching

Please note - everything was live, not pre-recorded!

What You Actually Learn

The curriculum was fast paced, yet felt very thorough and well-rounded. We covered:

• The philosophy of Pilates

• Core concepts, techniques, and how to teach authentic Mat Pilates exercises

• Bonus exercises that reinforce more challenging concepts

• Anatomy, specifically as it relates to teaching Mat

• Group fitness and cueing skills

• Ongoing practice teaching

This is where it really clicked for me that being good at Pilates and teaching Pilates are two very different skills.

How the Training Was Structured

The training was split across two weekends:

• Friday, Saturday, Sunday

• 9am–2pm PST

On the final Sunday, we had our audition. We were assigned a workout sequence the night before and had to practice and teach it the next day.

Each day was pretty evenly split:

• Half listening, learning, and taking notes

• Half practicing teaching out loud in smaller breakout rooms

Everything was remote. On one hand, that made it incredibly accessible. On the other, I do wish I had been able to learn more hands-on, in person.

Still!! I learned so much!!

My Honest Take

Overall, I loved my experience and would absolutely recommend it.

I don’t have much to compare it to, but I do have friends who own Pilates studios and friends who are instructors, and Equinox is widely respected. Most studios accept it, which matters.

That said, because it was remote, I don’t necessarily feel ready to teach a full class yet. Our audition was only the first 20 minutes of a class, and teaching is truly a skill you build over time.

If you have access to an in-person training, I’d recommend that. But if you’re looking for a lower-lift, lower-cost way to finally do something you’ve been thinking about for a while - this was a great option!!

The Reality of Teaching Pilates

Something important to know: getting certified does not mean you automatically start teaching.

Most studios:

• Require an audition

• Have their own training process

• Teach you their specific class style

So even with a certification, there’s more learning ahead. Which honestly made me feel better.

Studying, Memorization & Struggling lol

There was a full week between the training weekends, and I practiced every single night. For hours.

My mom actually did it with me, and we FaceTimed constantly while I practiced! I wish I had vids of us hahah. I’ll share more in a separate post about how I memorized my sequence, because… it did not come easily.

What I learned is that Pilates instruction is a memorization game. Just because you’re good at Pilates doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be a great instructor right away.

It’s like learning a new language. It looks easy until you have to speak it. I struggled in the Zoom breakout rooms. I blanked.

But I kept reminding myself:

This is new. This is hard. And that’s okay!!! This is good for the brain!! Its good to fail.

With more practice and time, it will come.

Final Thoughts

I’m not going to sugar coat it…this process was humbling! Yes, it was only 2 weeks. But 2 weeks of a whole lot of information begin thrown at you.

With that said - I’m so glad I did it.

I took a 3 week pause from substacking & im finally baaaack. Honestly…it felt good! The past few weeks I have been busy seeing friends, going on coffee & workout dates, & catching up on the phone with old friends that I love dearly. It was so refreshing & awesome to let go, and prioritize connection.

I tend to hyper fixate on things - aka if I am hyper focused on work/social media, I tend to isolate myself from people around me. Its very hard for me to get out of this cycle. And then the anxiety builds up… similar to when you haven’t texted a friend back for a while & then you continue to push it off & then it continues to get harder. But this is your reminder to JUST DO IT!! You will feel so much better. & people understand. I promise.

Another update - I am off of my birth control for the first time in YEARS. crazy!! Everything was fine & dandy until this week I started feeling extremely odd. Low energy, lightheadedness, tired during the day, body aches, almost feeling sick but not sick? Wanting to nap during the day? Things I rarely feel during a normal week. I am still navigating this and will keep you guys posted when I know more. Okay…now into the fun stuff!!

What I Loved → The sudden urge to continue to decorate my apartment! You know when something is almost done…SO close…but you can’t seem to tie the knot & fully complete it. That’s me with my apartment. So whenever I feel the sudden urge to be creative, I take action. This side table was empty since I got it! I gave it a little love on Tuesday night & I think it looks fab. Leaning into textures, different woods, & warm tones…per usual.

I also ordered some new decor pillows & blinds…will share when they get here!! I am very excited & just adore home decor. Investing into your space is so important. It should feel like YOU & like home!!

As much as I love LA…San Diego feels like a breath of fresh air. No one here cares about what you're wearing, what purse or car you own lol. I don’t always realize it in the moment, but I do feel this weird pressure in LA to have all the new shiny things. Although - LA does challenge & motivate me to work hard. San Diego is more of a resting & relaxing place for me. So there is beauty in both places!

What I Loved → Tom is seriously the best in so many ways. One of them being he is a planner (quite literally the opposite of me lol). We hadn’t seen each other for about 2 weeks, & I get a text on Friday saying “meet me at mine, I got all the food for a grill night on my rooftop”. So, we did just that - shrimp, steak, & lots of veggies watching the sunset.

Also! I was featured on a podcast called Unrelatable, that was filmed about 1 year ago when I first started this whole journey. This was definitely something out of my comfort zone, especially at the time! So cool to see growth in one year & proud of the past version of myself for putting myself out there :)

Wearing On Repeat → I have had some of my best purchases this fall…I mean it! Everything I am buying is extremely intentional & I wear multiple times a week. Sharing a few of my favorites below that I would recommend x a mil.

Questions from IG → How to move through a funk? Oh girl, I am still figuring this one out haha. Honestly, just as you said…the only way out of it is through it! I am all about feeling the feels, in small doses. If I am upset about something/in an uninspired funk…I let myself FEEL it & talk about it for a second. Then, I stop, & I start taking action. I think any sort of action (as hard as it is during a funk) is the only way out! Remind yourself that this funk is temporary & you have been here before.

How to find what content to start making? Ask yourself a few questions! What lights you up? What can you talk about for hours & not get sick of? What do your friends come to you for, advice wise (travel recs, food places, fashion help, etc)? What content do you enjoy consuming? What is important to you? After this reflection, you will have your answer. Time to take action, & see what sticks! You will probably pivot a million more times and thats okay!

Perspective on LA & how you feel about coastal living vs living in the city? I think LA has so much more to offer than people make it seem like online! There are so many different types of people, parts of the city, etc. It really is like 5 different cities in 1. I have always been drawn to the ocean & a slower, more chill lifestyle which is why I choose to live near the beach. I have never lived in the city city part of LA, but it is a completely different experience. Some people love it! Personally, if I ever want to live in a city city I will move to New York :)

In My Cart → Oh boy. First off, my entire wishlist will forever be on my shopmy under “Latest Finds”. But it’s been hard to practice self control on this one piece. I have a current obsession with sweaters, given the cozy fall weather beginning on the west coast (finally). Specifically everything Almina Concept!

Tiny Ritual → Morning walks with Clooney will always be my favorite ritual in San Diego. Clooney teaches me to slow down & reminds me that nothing is really that urgent. We can take a few extra minutes for ourselves each morning, and will have a better, more productive day because of it!

To Carry With You → Give your body exactly what it needs this weekend, whether that may be rest & spending time with yourself, or a girls night & a few drinks!!!

What I Loved → I went to a Galley Los Angeles event on Wednesday night & had a ball! Influencer events are always a hit or miss…this one was a huge hit. It was less an influencer event…more just a fun casual cocktail party in a lovely Venice backyard. Fresh pizzas being baked every 10 minutes, cute outfits to get inspo from, & seeing friends that I don’t see too often! I left feeling energized, which tends to be rare after an event.

Wearing On Repeat → The older I get the more simple my outfits get…but i love it. I never thought id obsess over a black sweater & jeans, but here I am. Perfectly paired!

Highs & Lows → High would be seeing my friends on Wednesday night! Low would be my apartment has been an extra mess this week haha.

Tiny Ritual → I just love a spoonful of my coconut cult yogurt in the mornings (specifically the chocolate flavor). I think it works. But really, it just tastes good & brings me joy.

To Carry With You → Take notice of the people you feel naturally energized around. & make an effort to be around them more. It might not even be your closest friend…perhaps someone you just see in passing. But I believe that feeling is there for a reason!

Happy October!!! I am welcoming this new fall season with open arms. Excited for what’s to come. Embracing the uncertainty of life. Not going to lie - September was a rough one mentally. But during these moments, things get clearer. We have to believe & trust that we are on the right path. Its as simple as that!

What I Loved → I had the best Wednesday night! My dear friend Sophie picked me up & we headed to Owa, a sushi spot on Abbot Kinney, for a brand dinner with Soshe Beauty. It was such a beautiful event with beautiful people. I loved my outfit too, which makes everything that much better. Also…my mom was in town this week!! So much fun. Lots of good food & short work days :)

Wearing On Repeat → I wore this outfit 3 different times this week…classic. I forgot how good this crisp white button down is (wearing size small). I dont say this lightly but everyone needs this in their wardrobe. It’s a “tuck into jeans” kind of button up btw. & I love my horseshoe jeans from Parke so much as well (wearing 26 but id size down next time).

Highs & Lows → High would be seeing my beautiful mom for sunrise & sunset walks almost every night this week. Love her more than I can even put into words! Low would be still trying to find my groove after feeling little off in September. I know things are looking up though!

In My Cart → The ONLY 2 things in my cart as of lately. These chic cream flats to elevate any outfit & this wrap coat from Buck Mason (my fav). Simple yet such staples. I think these will be my only 2 purchases of October! Oh - SOEUR is also having a huge sale. You must check them out.

Tiny Ritual → On Monday, I took out my journal & wrote down every single thing I have been pushing off doing for the past 6 months. Anything from calling my accountant back, to finding a therapist, to booking my flights back home for the holidays. & everything in-between. DO THIS if you have been feeling overwhelmed in the slightest bit. Then start with the most urgent thing on your list, and work your way down until everything is done & your mind is clear.

To Carry With You → You are doing great!!! Remember to enjoy the journey. You work does not define you. Make sure you are creating a life outside of it that you love & enjoy. Love yous xx

The more life I live, the more I appreciate the bad weeks & good weeks…almost equally. Or at least I try to lol. Because after every single bad week/month/moment…comes reflection & clarity. Now that I have seen this first hand, it gives me a deeper sense of peace during the low moments…knowing that good things are on the way. This week was a good week!

What I Loved → Soooo on Tuesday night I thrifted 3 basically brand new Jenni Kayne sweaters. If you know me, you know I made this my entire personality for 3 days after the fact, telling anyone that would listen LOL. Obviously FaceTimed Tom right away giving him the haul (let me know if you guys want a haul toooo).

Wearing On Repeat → Can I be boring and say this white tee (wearing a size medium)? I like the size medium because they tend to shrink just a bit in the wash! Also - this denim button down under $40 is the best thing that has ever happened to me (wearing a size small).

Highs & Lows → High was obviously finding 3 Jenni Kayne sweaters. I will not live this down haha. Low was having a super unfocused day on Thursday, & getting a bit in my head about things!

In My Cart → To be fully honest…nothing too crazy this week! I do feel a wardrobe gap in my closet right now is cream/white flats. I own a lot of black shoes, and I am always looking for a lighter color to spruce up an outfit. My best friend Kelly sent me these ones which I love…perhaps an October purchase! I LOVE a white/cream vibe for fall.

Tiny Ritual → A 10 minute clean before going to bed. TRUST. Even if this means you are throwing clothes into a pile for the next morning. Waking up with a clean space is life changing.

To Carry With You → This is kind of random but I saw a TikTok about this & I feel like someone may need it. You can not be “in trouble” with another adult. If someone makes you feel this way, whether that be a friend, a boss, a partner…this is not healthy. Obviously conflict comes up in any form of relationship, but you should never be made to feel less than - no matter your age or title. You are awesome & deserve respect & kindness always.

I’m not even going to lie - I had a major crash out week lol. You know those times in your life where you are like what the f am I doing with my life? Should I go travel the world? What I Loved → Tom & I went to an Arcy Drive concert in Venice at a random bar last Saturday! It was so much fun & exactly what I needed. We watched the sunset after (as the bar was 2 steps from the beach), and then ended the night with a Hillstone chicken sandwich, kale salad, & fries. Wearing On Repeat → I can’t decide between these red Madewell flats or my Peche penny loafers!! Both incredibly comfy & chic.

Highs & Lows → High: Having a lot of space to be creative this week & to think about what I really want to be doing.

Low: Videos I put a lot of time & effort into not performing as well as I want it to, which causes me anxiety. & me feeling lost.

Tiny Ritual → No scrolling! I wasn’t super strict about this (no deleting apps or anything) but the second I caught myself I put down my phone. This seriously helped my brain so much.

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with emotion this past week, as I’m sure many of us have. I wasn’t sure if I should even share this letter, because I know there are much bigger, urgent things happening in the world right now. We need meaningful change and gun reform immediately.

I also recognize how heavy social media can feel during times like this. If you’re able, I hope this short read can offer a small moment of calm, without minimizing the very real pain and urgency around us.

What I Loved → Tom & I got chipotle burritos on Wednesday night. It was weirdly therapeutic and reminded me how much something so simple with someone I love can bring me so much joy. We also watched the sunset, where a beautiful stranger took a (secret) video of us & airdropped it to Tom afterwords. I took this as a sign from the universe that there is still so much kindness and beauty in the world. Tom’s POV below!

Wearing On Repeat → My olive green Fringes sweater (wearing size small) and these Parke Horseshoe Jeans that had me stopped in the street by the chicest gal that made my day lol. Also loving this phone strap turned into necklace by Joiana so much!

In My Cart → I went into Buck Mason briefly this week & oh boy. I want the whole store, including this Wool Wrap Jacket (wearing size XS) & the coolest Cropped Rugby Shirt (wearing size large, but would order medium) that are such staples. These 2 may just be my fall splurge.

Tiny Ritual → Wearing my wardrobe & getting dressed up every day this week! Feels so good.

To Carry With You → My mom always shared the saying, “lead with grace,” with my sisters and I growing up. It has stayed with me and shaped the way I try to move through the world.
