Made ₹5L on this trade but It is result of trying 8 times.

This is how real trading works.

Even after 8 years of trading full-time, I still don’t know which trade will make me money. I don’t predict the outcome. I simply follow the risk-management system I developed for my Velocity trading style.

When I find a really good stock, I usually don’t need 20 different stocks every month. 2-5 good opportunities are often enough.

I watch them constantly, from lower timeframes to higher timeframes and I may attempt multiple entries.

In this trade, I tried 8 times:

• 4 times → Stop-loss Hit
• 2 times → Breakeven [No Gain , No Loss]
• 1 time → Small Gain
• 1 time → Biggest Gain

That’s trading my friend.

When I enter a trade, I assume I can lose, believe me most of the time I l make losses.

I calculate my 1R risk, take the position accordingly, and then my next job is simple:

Protect my breakeven as quickly as possible.

I have developed a few simple rules around this, while giving the stock enough breathing room according to its volatility.

I don’t think about the profit anymore.

The market forced me to learn this during my first 5 years.

Back then, I was always thinking:

“How much money will I make from this trade?”

Looking back, it sounds immature but that’s how almost everyone starts.

Over the years, I tried countless strategies, setups and timeframes.

Eventually, I understood one thing:

Never depend on a single entry in any trade

Don’t enter a trade thinking, “This one will make me money.”

Instead, focus on:

Risk → Entry → Protect BE → Give the trade room → Exit if you’re wrong.

I did exactly the same thing here.

Bought → 1R loss.
Bought again → Breakeven.
Bought again → Stop-loss.
Again. And again.

Until finally, one entry caught the move.

I always tell my students:

Don’t keep buying bad stocks hoping they will work.

Find a good stock.Then keep trying to enter it.

A Counterstrike Setup that made me ₹1.6 Lakh in a single trade and today, I’m sharing it with you for free.

Like always, we’ll learn through the chart, so just look at the example below.

Setup Structure :

1. Price should stay above the 10 EMA

The stock should be trading above the 10 Exponential Moving Average for a reasonable period, ideally at least 5–10 trading days.

This tells us that the stock is already in a healthy uptrend.

2. The Counter Candle

Now we need one sharp bearish candle that breaks below the 10 EMA.

The purpose of this candle is to shake out traders who entered during the last 4–5 days.

Simply put, if you had bought the stock anytime before this red candle, there’s a very high chance your stop loss would have been triggered.

Looking at that candle, it genuinely feels like the trend is over and the stock is ready to fall further.

That’s exactly the emotion this candle creates.

3. The Counterstrike

The very next candle should completely engulf the Counter Candle and close with strength.

This tells us that the breakdown has failed and buyers have taken back complete control.

That is our Counterstrike.

Execution :

I usually enter the trade around 3:20 PM, once I’m confident that the Counterstrike candle is likely to close strong.

My stop loss goes below the low of the Counterstrike candle.

Trade Management :

Every time the stock closes more than 4% in the green, I trail my stop loss to the low of that day’s candle.

I continue doing this until the trend weakens.

Exit:

I exit the trade when a green candle’s low is broken, signalling that momentum has likely faded.

Simple setups often produce the best trades.

Blueprint Idea :

You can create more setup like this : You just need to recognize when the market has trapped one side and shifted control back to the other.

When you stay in the market for a long period, the most important thing you learn is:

When to do what

There are different market environments throughout the year, just like seasons.

Each season requires different food and a different lifestyle. In the same way, different market cycles require different approaches.

The setup can remain the same, but the buying criteria, stop loss, and holding period keep changing according to the environment.

Sometimes a trade can be held for weeks, while at other times, intraday is the best option.That deep understanding comes only when you trade the same setup across different market cycles which helps you understanding how a setup behaves in different environments, and that is where system-hopping can never make you a trader.

Once you follow the same setups for a long period, you begin to understand the impact of market cycles on them. As that understanding grows, your trust in those setups grows as well.And that is when you start putting more money behind them.

The more capital you can confidently put at risk, the more money you can potentially make. But that confidence comes only when you have enough experience to trust that your edge will work in your favor sooner or later.

That is why I keep saying:

Following a few setups for a long period of time is the solution to many trading problems.

Most of us don’t make money in the market because we want to capture every single move.

What we fail to understand is that our mind cannot process huge amounts of information and make multiple high-quality decisions at the same time.

That’s why we miss so many good opportunities.

Sometimes the setup is known to us.
Sometimes it unfolds right in front of our eyes.
Yet we still fail to execute the trade.

This happened to me countless times before I reached one simple realization:

I can’t trade everything.

Once I accepted that, things started changing.

So what’s next?

Focus on what suits you best.

Find the trading style that matches your personality.
Find the entries that make the most sense to you.
Find the setups that you can execute flawlessly without hesitation.

It will be different for everyone.

Once you find those setups, create a playbook.

Go through it every day and every week.
Keep adding your observations.
Remove what is repetitive.
Refine it continuously.

Trading is a very personal game.

The day you stop trying to trade everything and start focusing on what works specifically for you, that day can become your turning point.

As a trader, we all love doing analysis, looking at multiple charts every day, trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t.

We keep asking questions like:

• Is this the right buy point?
• Am I putting the right stop loss?
• Is my money management good enough?
• What can I improve to become better?

There are endless questions running through our minds when we start studying our own trades and analysing winners.

Why am I talking about this?

Because I want to add one more important point that can immediately improve your decision-making during this kind of analysis.

Take one thing at a time and ask yourself:

“What is the ONE factor that impacts my decision the most?”

For example, when I analyse where to buy,
“Volatility contraction is the number one thing I always keep at the top before taking any decision.”

If I don’t see it before clicking the buy button, it’s a big NO for me.

Then once that is decided, ask again:

“What is the next most important thing after contraction that I need to focus on?”

Most of the time, only 2–3 factors truly matter.
The rest is just noise.

Keep things simple, because only then your execution becomes fast, clean, and frictionless.

Our state of mind changes each day. Our mind won’t behave the same way it did yesterday, or one week ago, and that directly impacts our decision-making ability.

We stay surrounded by a lot of things like friends, family, job, health, and situations outside the market that keep affecting our mind every single day, sometimes even on an hourly basis.

As a trader, your first job is figuring out how you can keep your state of mind almost in the same place without too much variation.

Because if you are not in a good mood, feeling low, angry, distracted, or in any emotional state, most of the time you either take wrong decisions or miss a lot of important details.

So how can we solve it?

Solution:

Just write down everything that actually helps you recognise:

• The Best Trades

• The Best Market Environment

• Entry Criteria

• Risk Management Techniques etc...

Keep all of it within 2-3 pages.

Read it every day before sitting at your trading desk.

That’s it.

I just want to keep it simple, the same way I always do.

Every time the market starts moving or enters a bullish cycle, a lot of stocks begin to fly. Your scanners start showing dozens of opportunities. But then the real question arises :

Which one to trade and which one to leave?

The worst part is that many good stocks get missed. We recognise those setups. We even promise ourselves last time that the next time we see them, we won’t miss them again. But when the next market cycle comes, we end up missing them once again… and the cycle keeps repeating.

Because when the market moves, everything moves. If you don’t keep things simple, it becomes difficult to track the real opportunities among so many high flyers. You fail to recognize them at the right time, and once they missed near the real buy zone, catching them keeps becoming difficult and dangerous.

But why does this happen? And what’s the solution?

Let’s understand it with a simple example.

What happens when you go to a supermarket without a list?

You often end up buying more than you need. Or worse, you forget to buy some important things. At first, you feel confident that you’ll remember everything and won’t overspend but always remember

Without a proper plan, execution usually fails.

The same thing happens in the market.

When you don’t have a defined setup in your mind, you miss it among the noise. Because when the market rises, almost everything rises. So it becomes difficult to identify the right opportunities.

That’s why you need a clear and focused list of setups. Ideally, limit it to 1 or 2 setups for maximum focus.

For example, I mostly trade:

• MB [Momentum Burst]

  

• Flags

  

• Gap & Go

  

I only trade these three setups, and I have predefined rules to identify them, like,

How They look,
At what market cycle they appear most of the time
What scanners catch them properly
And what is the optimal buy Point and when to Sell.

Everything is written down.

I have 1000s of charts related to each setups which I have collected over a period of time that gave me most of the money with minimal effort possible.

Everything should be predefined so when the market starts trending upward, I focus only on these setups because they are high-probability trades for me. This way I don’t loose focus from them.

So if still you are buying any stock randomly , it’s a high time to just find the best setups in which you make most of your money.

Go through your past trades, find the best setup ideas from others and finalize the 2 to 3 best setups that suits your personality well. I say

This simple example shows the importance of knowing yourself and not forcing external habits.

The same applies to trading. Understand what kind of trader you are:

• Are you better at investing, swing trading, or intraday?

• Or maybe trading isn’t for you at all, you’ve tried for years without success.

• Perhaps your true strength lies in coding, or music, or something else.

You can only master what you genuinely love. The sooner you find that, the more time you’ll have to focus, improve, and eventually achieve mastery because

2022 was one of the most difficult years of my trading journey. I had been trading for a long time, but that year tested me like never before. It was during this struggle that I realised something crucial was missing in my approach :

The Concept of Market Cycles.

For months, I worked on a setup called MB, refining it day after day, trade after trade. By the time 2023 began, MB was no longer just an idea; it had evolved into a complete system, equipped with every filter and rule I needed.

This time, I was prepared. I was no longer reacting blindly to the market, I was observing it with the patience and focus like a sniper.

Then came the date I can never forget: June 23, 2023.

That day changed everything. I had taken several good trades earlier in the year, but this one was different. This was the trade where conviction met opportunity and I was ready with size.

I often explain conviction through a simple example.

Imagine a stock rallies 20%.

One trader enters with ₹50,000, another with ₹50 lakh. The trade is identical, the return is identical, but the conviction is not.

By mid 2023, after surviving the lessons of 2022, I had more conviction than ever before.

That conviction led me to buy FORCEMOTORS with a 3% risk. I held the position for two months, and the stock surged 60%. It turned into a 20R trade , a single position that lifted my entire portfolio by 30% in just two months.

You’re not stuck because of lack of knowledge.

You’re stuck because you never asked the right questions.

Like, I have a Setup Name MB, When I see any external factor, I check whether the stock aligning with my trading setup, if not I just leave it, just look the below #Defense related stock that I have traded recently not only because this sector was buzzing everywhere but because it also aligned with my setup.

Once you trigger entry in your setup, you won’t need anyone to tell you how much to buy or when to exit.
You’ll have your plan. You’ll follow your system.

Trading is never just about the entry.
Trade management is the real game.

So the next time you get a stock tip or hear about a hot sector, ask:

❝Does my setup exist here?❞

If yes, take it.
If not, walk away.

Because it’s not just about making money,
It’s about making money through your setup.

So no matter how strong your setup looks, never risk beyond it.

To discover your threshold, analyze your data.
Find where your psychology breaks and build your system around that.
