Lord God of Wisdom,

I pray that ______________________ and I will fear you so that you will be a refuge for us when calamity comes. Be a fortress and refuge not only for us but also for our children.

May the fear of you be a fountain of life for us, and turn us from the snares of death. May our prayers be the prayers of the upright and may they please you. I claim for us your promise that you love those who pursue righteousness. Make us men and women of understanding who keep a straight course. I pray that our hearts will be cheerful and provide a continual feast for our souls.

Remind us that your eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on both the wicked and the good, and that the hearts of men lie open before you. I pray that we will never resent correction, but always consult and listen to the wise. Remind us of your truth: plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. May we be wise sons who bring joy to our fathers.

I pray that we will be patient. Grant us great understanding that we may calm quarrels, and not stir up dissension by displaying folly and being quick-tempered. May we know the joy that comes from giving an apt reply and a timely word.

Teach us how to turn away wrath with a gentle answer, and keep us from uttering harsh words which only stir up anger. May our tongue always spread knowledge and bring healing. May we never utter words that crush the spirit of another.

I pray that our hearts will be at peace and give life to our bodies. Protect us from the envy of others that only rots the bones. I pray that wisdom will repose in our heart.

I claim for us your promise that all hard work brings a profit. May our wisdom bring us wealth, and may that wealth be our crown. May our houses contain great treasure. I pray that we will never oppress the poor and so show contempt for you as their Maker; instead, may we honor you by being kind to the needy.

If we are not wealthy, remind us that a little with the fear of the Lord is better than great wealth with turmoil, and that a meal of vegetables where there is love is better than a fattened calf with hatred.

I pray all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Lord God of Wisdom,

I pray in Jesus’ name that you will so work in the heart of ______________________ and in my heart that we will guard our lips and in so doing guard our life. Protect us from speaking rashly and coming to ruin. May we enjoy good things from the fruit of our lips.

I pray that we will fear you and shun evil, and that our walk will be upright. Protect us from being hotheaded and reckless; remind us that a quick-tempered man does foolish things. I pray that we will be diligent and that through our diligence you will fully satisfy our desires. May we experience the life and sweetness of soul that comes from a longing fulfilled. Prompt us to hate what is false, so that our righteousness and integrity may protect us.

I pray that we will be prudent, give careful thought to our ways, and always act out of knowledge. Make us discerning so that knowledge may come easily to us and be our crown. Keep us from being easily deceived and from believing everything we hear. Grant us the discernment to recognize ways that seem right to us but in the end only lead to death.

Make us sincere in making amends for sin that we may produce goodwill in all our relationships. May our light shine brightly, and may our teaching and our wisdom be a fountain of life to others.

Protect us from the pride that only breeds quarrels, and instill in us the wisdom that is found in those who take advice. I pray that we will not ignore discipline but will instead heed correction. May we be honored as a result.

Teach us the life lesson that he who gathers money little by little makes it grow. May prosperity be the reward for our righteousness, and may we eat to our heart’s content. May we be able to leave an inheritance for our children’s children. I pray that we will be upright and that our homes will flourish. May we never sin by despising a neighbor; instead, may we be kind to the needy and be blessed as a result.

Protect us from suffering harm by being companions of fools. May we instead walk with the wise and grow wise as a result. Prompt us to stay away from foolish men who have no knowledge on their lips. May the fathers of young sons not spare them the discipline, but may they love them enough to be careful to discipline so that they may grow in wisdom and stature.

Lord God of Wisdom,

I pray in the name of Jesus that ______________________ and I will be kind and that we ourselves may benefit from our kindness. May you delight in us because our way is blameless and we are truthful. When we seek to do good, I pray that we may find goodwill in return, and obtain favor from you. May our root flourish so that we will thrive like the green leaf and never be uprooted. May each of our homes be a house of righteousness and stand firm.

I pray that you will move in our hearts that we may give freely; may we be among those who receive even more in return. I claim your promise that the generous man will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. May our righteousness extend even to the care of our animals.

I pray that our plans will be just and our speech upright. I ask you to fill us with good things from the fruit of our lips. I pray that we will never be trapped by our own sinful talk, and never speak reckless words that pierce like a sword. Instead, may our tongue be wise and bring healing to others. May we offer kind words that cheer up a man whose anxious heart is weighing him down. We pray that in our nation every man of good sense may be commended, and every man of twisted mind may be despised.

Grant us great self-restraint, that we may not be fools who show our annoyance at once. Instead, may we each be prudent and able to overlook an insult. I pray that we will know when to keep our knowledge to ourselves. May we be cautious in friendship and choose our friends carefully that we may not be led astray. I pray that we will know the joy that comes from promoting peace.

I pray that each married woman among us will be a woman of noble character, an excellent wife who is her husband’s crown. I pray that the hands of each man will be diligent so that he may gain precious wealth and be able to provide for his family. I ask that we may have abundant food, and that each of us may be good and obtains your favor.

Sovereign Lord of Wisdom,

I pray in Jesus’ name that ______________________ and I will be wise sons and daughters and bring joy to our parents. May we be righteous so that blessing may crown our heads. I pray that even the memory of us will be a blessing to others. Make your way a refuge for us so that we will stand firm even when the storms of life sweep by. May we walk securely as men and women of integrity, and never be uprooted.

I pray that we will be wise in heart and accept your commands, and that our fear of you will add length to our lives. I pray that we will heed discipline and be able to show others the way to life. May what we desire be granted to us. Free us from pride and the disgrace that follows it. Grant us instead the humility that comes with wisdom.

I pray that our hands will be diligent and that your blessing will bring us wealth. May our wages bring us life, that we may never go hungry. I pray that our integrity will guide us and that our righteousness will make a straight way for us. May our righteousness deliver us from evil desires and rescue us from trouble.

Remind us that false weights and balances are an abomination to you, but that a just weight is your delight, so that we may be honest and upright in all our business dealings.

We pray for our nation, because we know that, by the mouth of the wicked, cities and nations are overthrown. We pray that we will be prompted to choose upright men for positions of political power so that our nation may be exalted by the blessing they bring to our public life.

I pray that we will store up knowledge. May our mouth be a fountain of life, and may wisdom be found on our lips. May our tongue be choice silver and our lips know what is fitting that we may nourish many. I pray that we will have understanding so that we will know when to hold our tongue rather than deride a friend or neighbor. Remind us that when words are many, sin is not absent. May we never be fools who spread slander. Instead, make us trustworthy, those who can keep a secret and never betray a confidence. Purge us from hatred and keep us from stirring up dissension. I pray instead that our love will cover all offenses against us.

Sovereign Lord of Wisdom,

I pray in the name of Jesus that ______________________ and I will always know that you are the Holy One. May we always be convinced that fearing you is the beginning of wisdom and that knowing you is understanding. Through you I pray that our days may be many, and that years will be added to our life. May we be wise so that our wisdom will reward us.

I pray that we will hear Wisdom calling from the highest point of the city, and that we will accept her invitation to eat her food and drink the wine she has mixed. May we leave our simple ways and live, and be able to walk in the way of understanding. I pray that we will become wise, and continue to receive instruction and add to our learning so that we may become wiser still, and grow in righteousness.

I pray that we will be discerning enough to recognize the voice of Folly when it calls to us from the highest point of the city. May we recognize that Folly is undisciplined and seductive and knows nothing. I pray that we will reject her counsel, the counsel that stolen water is sweet and food eaten in secret is delicious. I pray that we will always have the sober awareness that all the guests of Folly go to the depths of the grave.

I pray that you will grant us great wisdom in relationships. Remind us that correcting a mocker or rebuking a wicked man will only lead to injury, abuse, and hatred from their hands. Teach us to gently rebuke only those who are wise, so that the wisdom we show in our correction may prompt them to love us yet more.

I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Sovereign Lord of Wisdom,

We praise you this day as the one who by wisdom made the earth and established the heavens. You are the God who drew a circle on the face of the deep and made firm the skies above. You are the one who assigned a limit to the sea and marked out the foundations of the earth.

I pray in Jesus’ name that ______________________ and I will hear your wisdom crying aloud on the heights and beside the gates leading into the city. May we listen to her voice so that where we are simple, we may gain prudence, and where we are foolish, we may gain understanding.

I pray that we will always have the conviction that you have worthy things to say, and that you open your lips to speak only what is right and true. May we know that all the words of your mouth are just, and that none of them is crooked or perverse. May we have knowledge and discernment, and may all of your words be faultless to us.

I pray that we will choose your instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold. May your wisdom be more precious to us than rubies, and may we realize that nothing can compare with her. I pray that the fruit of wisdom will be better to us than fine gold and that what she yields will surpass choice silver.

I pray that, because we fear you, we will hate evil behavior, pride, arrogance, and perverse speech. May we understand that counsel and sound judgment belong to your wisdom, and that wisdom has understanding and power. We pray that our civic leaders will govern by your wisdom and make laws that are just.

I pray that we will love your wisdom so that she may love us in return. May we find your wisdom when we seek for her. I pray that your wisdom will bestow on us riches and honor, and enduring wealth and prosperity. May our treasuries be full.

I pray that we will keep the ways of wisdom that we may be blessed. May we watch and wait daily at the doors of wisdom, and continue to believe that whoever finds wisdom finds life and receives favor from you.

Lord God,

I pray in Jesus’ name that ______________________ and I will keep your words and store up your commands within us. May we guard your teachings as the apple of our eye and write them on the tablet of our heart. I claim your promise for us that they will guide us when we walk, watch over us as we sleep, and speak to us when we awake. May your commands be a lamp and a light, and may the corrections of discipline be the way to life for us.

I pray that we will learn from the ant you have created, and store up provisions in summer and gather food at harvest. May our hard work keep poverty from coming on us like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man. Protect us from foolishly putting up security for others and so becoming snared by the words of our own mouth.

Lord, you tell us here that there are seven things that are detestable to you, that you hate. Keep us from each of them. Keep us from haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that harm innocent people or shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, and feet that are quick to rush into evil. Keep us from being a false witness who pours out lies, and from stirring up dissension and discord among our brothers.

Protect our sexual purity, I pray, and keep us from the smooth tongue of those who are sexually immoral. May we not lust in our heart after false lovers so that immorality may not prey upon our very life. Remind us that no one who touches another man’s wife will go unpunished. Remind us of your proverb that a man cannot scoop fire into his lap without burning his clothes and cannot walk on hot coals without scorching his feet.

Keep us from destroying ourselves through committing sexual immorality or adultery and bringing upon us a shame that will never be wiped away. May your wisdom keep us from being led astray with persuasive words or the smooth talk and seductive words of false lovers. I pray that we will always remember that to follow immorality is to become like an ox going to the slaughter, and like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver. May we not let our heart turn to immorality or stray into its paths; remind us that the house of immorality is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.

Lord God,

I in Jesus’ name pray that ______________________ and I will listen to your instruction and pay attention so that we may gain understanding. I pray that we will never forget your words or swerve from them so that your wisdom may protect us and watch over us.

I pray that we will recognize that wisdom is supreme, and that we will get wisdom and understanding even if it costs us all we have. May we esteem and embrace your wisdom so that it may exalt us and honor us. May your wisdom set a garland of grace on our head and present us with a crown of splendor. I pray that the years of our life will be many because we listen to you and accept what you say.

May we never set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men. I pray that we will be righteous, and that our path will be like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter until the full light of day. I pray that we will guard our heart, and recognize that it is the wellspring of life. May we put perversity away from our mouth, and keep corrupt talk far from our lips.

I pray that you will protect our sexual purity in all ways. I pray that we will always remember that, in the end, sexual indulgence is as bitter as gall, as sharp as a double-edged sword, and can bring us to the brink of utter ruin. May we recognize that the steps of adultery and immorality go down to death; their steps lead straight to the grave, and can bring us to the end of life groaning, with our flesh and body spent.

I pray that we will keep to a path far from sexual immorality. May we not go near the door of its house so that we may not give our best strength to others and our years to one who is cruel. May strangers never feast on our wealth through our sexual indiscretion, and may our toil never enrich another man’s house.

I pray instead that we will drink water from our own cistern and running water from our own well. May the springs of fresh water our mates represent be ours alone, never to be shared with strangers. May we always rejoice in the husband or wife of our youth. Bless the marriage union of each husband and wife among us, and may it be like a fresh fountain. May we be fully satisfied with each other and ever captivated by each other’s love.

Lord God,

I pray in Jesus’ name that I and ______________________ will accept your words and store up your commands within us. May we turn our ear to wisdom and apply our heart to understanding. May we call out for insight, and search for it as for hidden treasure so that we may understand what it means to fear you and to find the knowledge of you.

I pray that you will speak to us that we may receive wisdom, knowledge, and understanding from your mouth. Guard our course and protect our way as we seek to be just and faithful.

By your wisdom, may we be protected from adultery, immorality, and the seductive words of false lovers. Remind us that the house of immorality leads down the path to the spirits of the dead, and that none who go to her return or attain the paths of life.

I ask you to grant us long life from the right hand of wisdom, and riches and honor from her left hand. I pray that we will choose to honor you with the firstfruits of our wealth, and I claim your promise that our barns will be filled to overflowing. I pray that we will write love and faithfulness on the tablet of our hearts and that we will win favor and a good name in your sight and in the sight of man.

May we choose to trust in you with all our heart, and not lean on our own understanding. May we acknowledge you in all our ways. As we do, I ask you to make our paths straight. May we not be wise in our own eyes; instead, may we fear you and shun evil. I pray that through wisdom we will not be afraid when we lie down and that our sleep may be sweet.

Lord, we know that you discipline those you love as a father disciplines the son he delights in. May we not despise your discipline or resent your rebuke.

I pray that your curse will rest on the house of the wicked, but that you will bless the home of the righteous. Please give grace to us and cause us to inherit honor as we humble ourselves before you.

Lord God,

I pray this day for myself and for ______________________, that we will be given the grace by your Spirit to understand all the wisdom and instruction of the Scriptures, as well as the words of insight of all wise men, so that we may attain wisdom and discipline. I pray that each of us will acquire a disciplined and prudent life and do what is right, just, and fair.

Where we are simple, I pray that you will give us prudence. Where we are immature, give us knowledge and discretion. Where we are wise and discerning, may we add to our learning and get guidance from the truths of your word.

I pray that we will always fear you, and always remain convinced that fearing you is the beginning of the only knowledge that truly counts in life. May we never be fools who despise wisdom and discipline. We pray that once again our entire system of education will be built on the truth that the fear of you is the beginning of knowledge, and that true knowledge can only be attained through reverence for you and your word.

I pray that we will remember all the wise instruction we have received from our fathers, and never forsake the wise counsel of our mothers. May their counsel be like a garland to grace our heads.

I pray that you will strengthen us so that if sinners entice us, we will not give in to them or go along with them. Instead, may we hear the voice of wisdom calling aloud in the streets and raising her voice in the public square. May we listen to the voice of wisdom so that we may live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.

I pray together for the fools and mockers in our city and nation who hate knowledge and refuse to fear you and respect you. I ask that you will bring them to the place where they will no longer reject your counsel and despise your reproof, but instead accept wisdom’s advice and rebuke in order that calamity may not overtake them like a storm.

I ask you to send the Holy Spirit to do his convicting work in our land so that our people will not be destroyed by complacency and turning away from you. I pray, instead, that our people will turn at your reproof so that you may pour out your spirit to us and make your words known to us. I pray that we all will listen to you so that we may live in security and have no fear of disaster.

Heavenly Father,

I pray that ______________________ and I, all of us, will keep in step with your Spirit and walk by the Spirit since we live by Him. Check our pride so that we do not become conceited, and protect us from provoking and envying each other. Strengthen us spiritually so that we can gently restore those who are caught in sin. May we all watch ourselves carefully, and never forget our own vulnerability to temptation.

I pray that you will prompt each of us to carry our own load, to shoulder the responsibilities you have given to us without trying to unload them on someone else. Yet, Lord, we know that many times we find ourselves carrying a weight that is too much for us and causes us to sag under its heaviness. I pray that in those times we will carry each other’s burdens so that we may fulfill the law of Christ, who taught us to love one another as he loved us.

I pray that each of us will be protected from self-deception and never think that we are something when we are nothing. May we test our own actions, so that we can each boast in ourselves, satisfied with knowing that we have done what you have asked us to do. May we never boast in comparing ourselves to others.

I also ask that each of us will be moved to share all good things with those who instruct us in the word. May we never be deceived into thinking that you and your will can be ignored or mocked. I pray that we will sow to the Spirit and thus reap eternal life, rather than reaping destruction by sowing to the flesh.

When we are discouraged, please lift our spirits so that we may not become weary in doing good. I claim for us your promise that we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. I pray that we will do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the household of the faith. Remind us that the presence or absence of religious ritual means nothing and that what counts is the new creation that we are in Christ. May the world be crucified to us and we to the world. I pray that we will never boast except in the cross of Jesus Christ.

May peace and mercy be with our spirit, along with the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is in his name that I pray. Amen.

I pray that each of us will continue to run a good race, and not allow anyone to cut in on us and keep us from obeying the truth. May anyone who seeks to agitate us and throw us into spiritual confusion pay the penalty that you choose to impose.

May we always remember that you have called us to be free, but I also ask you to protect us from using our freedom in any way to indulge the flesh. I pray instead that we will serve our brothers in love and remember to love our neighbor as ourselves. Keep us from biting and devouring each other so that we will not be destroyed by each other.

I pray that we will live by the Spirit so that we will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Free us from sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery, the worship of Mammon, and any dabbling in the occult. Grant us victory over hatred, discord, jealousy, and fits of rage. Set us free from selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy. Free us from all temptation presented by drugs, alcohol, and pornography. As those who belong to you, may we crucify the flesh with its passions and desires.

I pray instead that you will produce in us the full fruit of the Spirit. May our lives be filled with love, joy, and peace; with patience, kindness, and goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Heavenly Father,

We affirm together that your law was added because of our transgressions, to make clear to us that we cannot be justified before you by observing the law, and to show us that the whole world is a prisoner of sin. We freely acknowledge that before faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith was revealed to us. Apart from you, we confess that we were slaves under the basic principles and dark powers of the world.

We acknowledge that you put the law in charge to lead us to Christ so that we might be justified by faith, and so that what was promised might be ours through faith in Jesus Christ. We thank you that now that faith has come, we are no longer under the burdensome supervision of the law.

We thank you, Heavenly Father, that when the time had fully come, you sent your Son, born of a woman and born under the law, to redeem us who were under the law that we might receive our full rights as your sons. We are humbly grateful that you have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts. May we each hear his voice calling out, “Abba, Father,” and be drawn into a deeper relationship with you, not as slaves, but as your sons and heirs.

We thank you that all of us who believe are your sons and daughters through faith in Christ Jesus, because we have clothed ourselves with Christ through our baptism into him. We thank you that we belong to Christ and are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise of Christ.

We thank you that we are all one in Christ Jesus, and that our status as heirs does not come through social status or race or gender but because we belong to Christ.

Lord Jesus,

I pray in your name that you would be clearly portrayed as crucified before my eyes and the eyes of ______________________. May no one bewitch us in spiritual matters. Remind us that your Father gives the Spirit and works miracles among us because we believe what we heard, and not because we observe the law. Protect us from the foolishness of beginning with the Spirit, but trying to attain our goal by human effort.

We acknowledge the truth of your Word that righteousness was credited to Abraham through his faith, and I pray that we all may have faith so that we may be blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. Through our faith, may we belong to the sons of Abraham and be a source of blessing for everyone around us.

We acknowledge that all who rely on observing the law are under a curse, and that no one is justified before God by the law. We thank you, Lord Christ, for redeeming us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. We thank you that through faith we have received the blessing given to Abraham, the promise of the Spirit.

We affirm the teaching of the apostle that possessing the Spirit and receiving the inheritance does not depend on the law, and we rejoice that your Father in his grace has given it to Abraham, and through Abraham to us, through a promise. By faith in you and your work of redemption on the cross, we claim the promise of the Holy Spirit for ourselves, and ask that you fill us with his presence this day.

Lord Jesus,

I pray in your name that you will grant to each of us – to me and to ______________________ - the same conviction Paul had about the truth of your gospel. May we never yield for a moment to those who would infiltrate the ranks of the body of Christ to spy on the freedom we have in Christ and make us slaves to legalism.

May we be willing, if necessary, to stand alone for the truth and oppose, to his face, one who is clearly in the wrong and not acting in line with the truth of the gospel. Please keep us from drawing back and separating ourselves from others based on legalistic and extra-biblical standards of behavior. I pray that we will never seek to force other believers to follow the custom of men rather than the word of God. Protect us from being led astray into hypocrisy by pressuring others to live up to customs we ourselves do not follow.

I pray that we will be so focused on pleasing you that even those who seem to be important will have no more than their rightful place in our thinking. May their status make no difference to us. May we not judge by external appearance any more than your Father does. I pray that we will not be influenced in our actions and decisions by the fear of men.

May we put our full faith in you so that we may be justified by faith in you and not by observing the law. I pray that we will never set aside the grace of God by believing that righteousness can be gained through the law.

May we all die to the law, giving up the idea that we can be justified in the sight of your Father by our own behavior, in order that we might live for God. I pray that we will live out the truth that we have been crucified with Christ. May we no longer live; instead, may Christ live in us. I pray that the life we live in the body, we will live by faith in You. We praise You as the one who loved us and gave Yourself up for us.

Heavenly Father,

I pray in Jesus’ name that ______________________ and I will continue to have regard for the pure stream of truth that comes to us through your apostle Paul. We affirm that he did not receive his authority from men or by man, but through you and through your Son Jesus Christ.

I pray that we will always recognize that the gospel Paul preaches in his letters is not the gospel of man, or something that he received from man or was taught by man. Instead, may we always carry the conviction that Paul received his gospel, the true gospel, by revelation from your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We pray that more and more people in our land will come to embrace the message of the gospel, that Christ gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to your will as our God and Father. We praise you for raising him from the dead. May you receive glory forever and ever.

We know how serious the purity of the gospel is to you, and so we pray that anyone who throws people into confusion and troubles them by trying to pervert or distort the gospel of Christ may be under a curse. May we never desert you, the one who called us by the grace of Christ, and turn to a different gospel. I pray that we will never be deceived by anyone, even an angel from heaven, who preaches a gospel other than the one that we find in the Scripture.

I pray that each of us will recognize that we have been set apart from our mother’s womb and called by your grace. I pray that you will be pleased to reveal your Son in us, and show us what you want us to do for you.

I also ask that you set us free from trying to win the approval of men, or trying to please men. Instead, I pray that each of us will try only to win your approval and choose to be a servant of Christ rather than a man-pleaser. May you grant us your grace and peace this day.

I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Yahweh our God,

I pray in Jesus’ name that I and ______________________, will fear you and serve you in all sincerity and faithfulness. May we be moved to put away anything that would draw our hearts away from you so that we may serve you with a whole heart. I pray that we and our entire households will serve you.

Please continue to deliver us when we cry to you for help, and refuse to listen to any curse that may have been pronounced against us. May you bless us again and again. Please send your hornet ahead of us to drive out all spiritual forces of evil and deliver us out of their hands.

I pray that we will recognize that we are not delivered by our own sword and bow but by your power. May we always remember that you have brought us out of spiritual slavery and protected us on our entire life’s journey.

I pray that we will never even think of forsaking you to serve any other gods, knowing that you may bring disaster on us if we do. May we always remember that you are a holy and jealous God, and that you will not forgive rebellion and sin that is not brought under the blood of the cross. I pray that we will always choose to serve you and yield our hearts to you.

Grant us such influence that many will, because of us, serve you throughout our lifetime. May each of us be known, as Joshua was, as a servant of the Lord.

We pray together for our nation. We affirm that our liberty, security, and prosperity come from you, not from our own military might. You sent your hornet before us to bring us to this land and to subdue all our enemies. I pray that we as a nation will not forsake you to serve foreign gods. Incline our hearts to you and renew in us, as a people, a conviction that you are a holy and jealous God, and that you will not forgive our rebellion and our sins as a nation if we forsake you.

Remind us that you can turn and bring disaster on us and make an end of us as a nation, even after you have been good to us. I pray that every single man, woman, and child in our nation will say, as Joshua did, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” I pray that our entire nation together will say, “The Lord our God we will serve, and his voice we will obey.”

Lord God,

I bring myself and ______________________ before your throne this day. I pray that you will answer us in the day of trouble. May your name, as the God of Jacob, protect us. I ask you to send us help from the sanctuary and grant us support from your unseen temple in the heavens. I pray that you will save us as your anointed ones and answer us from your holy heaven with the saving power of your right hand.

I pray that we will not trust in chariots or horses but instead in your name as the Lord our God. I pray that you will cause us to rise up and stand firm as we trust in you. Please do not withhold the request of our lips, but give us the desire of our heart and cause every plan to succeed that is in accordance with your will. We ask you to grant us our requests, that those around us may shout for joy and lift up banners in your name when we are victorious.

I pray in Jesus’ name that we will rejoice in your strength and know great joy in the victories you give us. Please bestow splendor and majesty on us through the victories you grant. I pray that your hand will lay hold of all our enemies, seen and unseen. Though men plot evil and design wicked schemes against us, may they not succeed.

Welcome us, I pray, with rich blessings and place a crown of pure gold on our heads. Give life to us, length of days forever and ever. Grant us eternal blessings and make us glad with the joy of your presence. May we trust in you, and through your unfailing love, may we not be shaken.

We pray especially for every public official who trusts in you and stands for your truth. Please answer them in the day of trouble and send them help from your sanctuary. Answer them from your holy heaven with the saving might of your right hand. Make them glad with the joy of your presence. I pray that they will trust in you and that, through the steadfast love of the Most High, they will not be moved. Put to flight all who plan evil against them.

Together we exalt you in your strength as the Most High God, and together we sing and praise your might.

Lord God,

I pray in Jesus’ name for myself and for ______________________, that we will follow you all our lives, as Joshua did, until we are old and well advanced in years. May we remember everything we have seen you do for our sake. I pray that we will never forget how you yourself, as the Lord our God, have fought for us.

I pray that you will go before us to assist us in accomplishing everything you have called us to do. Drive out and push out before us all spiritual opposition that we may take possession of everything you have for us.

I pray that in you we will be very strong. May we be careful to obey all that is written in the Book without turning aside to the right or to the left. I pray that those who follow you will marry only in the household of the faith so that no one will turn our hearts away from you. Instead may we hold fast to you as the Lord our God.

I pray that you will grant us victory over even great and powerful spiritual forces of evil. May no enemy of ours be able to withstand us. Even though each of us may be only one man, may we put a thousand to flight because you are fighting for us. May we always be careful to love you.

Make us mindful of the severe consequences of violating the new covenant you have established with us in Christ, that we may avoid the snares and traps of the enemy and not grow weak.

I pray that we will know in our hearts and in our souls that not one of the good promises you have made to us will fail, but that every one will be fulfilled.

We pray together for our nation that you will fight for us against our enemies, so that one man of our armies may put to flight a thousand, and that no man will be able to stand before us. We thank you for the great victories over our enemies you have given us in the past and that, for so many years, we have been given rest from our enemies.

We confess that we have strayed from you as a nation. Remind us that if we transgress our covenant with you, your anger may be kindled against us, and we may perish quickly from off the good land that you have given to us.

We ask you for another great awakening in our land so that, once again, we will keep and do all that is written in the Scripture and not turn aside from it either to the right or to the left. I pray that we will again cling to you as the Lord our God as we have done in the past.
