Old Zadig and Voltaire tank that I pulled out of the depths of my closet during the heat wave, Asher 100% ultra-fine merino wool pants in Thyme (petite length), that because they are thermoregulating kept me so much cooler than even this tank! Kinto Sandals again, and Thistles sunnies!

I accidentally fell into Bottega Veneta — but honestly very happy I did because I found this absolutely gorgeous Andiamo Clutch in the most buttery-soft and delicate yet structured leather and I know would garner the most incredible patina when worn overtime.

Been really into quiet moments and yummy breakfasts before the day starts. Local sourdough and eggs from Officina 1397, peaches from the market.

A trip to BOMI where I found the beautiful jewelry travel boxes, but I actually have my eye on the larger one for my dresser as a piece of art to brighten the space. I also tried this swimsuit top and bottom, which I did have to size up a fair amount in, sadly they didn’t have my size in the colour I wanted, so I wasn’t able to bring her on my travels the next day, but it will be a sure addition in the near future. In my eyes, a better priced alt. to the Eres one I have been seeing everywhere. Although I have to say, this one has taken over on the top of my wishlist and can be purchased as separates (top and bottom) via their website.

One thing I love about the linen we choose for our Callum and Asher is that it undergoes the same practices as denim does, specifically as vintage denim did / does. It is a processed called stonewashing in which the fabric is tumbled with stones and creates a beautiful texture and feel. Heavier in weight than most linen we are exposed to these days, but that was done for good reason, so that they can work with your wardrobe for more seasons than just summer. Almost at the weight of heavy denim itself, I will be wearing our Asher and Callum pieces in spring, summer, and autumn. Below is a sample we made in a gorgeous chocolate brown that wasn’t produced. But if you love, we can!

Instead of heading out for a Euro-summer this year, we decided to go the opposite way and explore more of southern California, one of my most favourite parts of the world. It was a truly incredible journey, we stayed at El Encanto, which I can highly recommend, however I believe they are starting on a slow renovation journey as of next year.

Below was my outfit for night one of our travels, a dress I love with all my heart that I ever so rarely wear from a beautiful small boutique in Puglia. Wearing with my Thistles Atlas glasses and little pouch I got from Via Coquina worn with my A.Emery sandals.

Pool-to-lunch-to-town is my speciality. Wearing Janessa Leone hat, Anteros Hanne linen shirt, old Marren Sarre shorts (these are incredible similar), and Tkees flip-flops. I am living for this azure blue colour with just about everything right now, and nothing feels better than linen on a hot day that gets crisp as the sun starts to go down!

A simple breakfast outfit — the mornings and evenings were chillier than I expected so my cozy and trusted 6397 sweater and $50 vintage skirt from A.W.Kaufman. Absolutely worth a visit!! My Bottega sunnies as I was barely awake, A.Emery sandals, and my new Posse purse.

I tend to find most of my pieces while out dining at restaurants as you’ll see as I share my favorites below. Like most art, fashion, and design, a lot of inspiration and uncovering comes from being out in the world and experiencing / finding unique pieces along your way, which also gives them greater meaning.

I learned this early on from my parents as they have collected 1 off champagne glasses for over 35 years. My favourite part of this special tradition, is that during dinner parties and family gatherings my dad will pull all of them out and allow each guest to choose the piece that most resonates with them. Allowing for creative expression while also being quite logical as to avoid glass mix ups!

So when my boyfriend and I moved in together, I knew I wanted to start that tradition and our own collection of champagne glasses and grow them together so that one day when we host, people can choose their own glassware.

From top to bottom and left to right:

Top row: Wine Glasses and what I love about these is that they are very thin without being so fragile and can also be put in the dishwasher. We originally had Zalto glasses, which are so dreamy, but they are so incredibly fragile that after a year all 8 had broken in one way or another by either handwashing or simply by someone lifting them. Vintage vase from my boyfriends grandmother.

Middle row: these are the first two in our one-off-champagne glassware collection — Champagne Coupe, champagne stemless flute (from Rue Vert, but I am no longer seeing it on their website sadly), water glasses (also available in person here), handmade one of a kind espresso cups from a small mother-son owned store in my moms area of Puglia

Bottoms row: martini glasses of my dreams that I discovered while out to dinner in Copenhagen with family, I fell in love with them then and when we moved back to NYC I knew they were the first purchase for the new apartment. They are actually quite small making them dainty and the perfect portion size (image below of them in use for a dirty martini!). Also of importance to me, they are made with lead-free glass! water / cocktail tumblers each one is hand blown so there are variations in size and height, water glasses, these are my boyfriends favourite glasses we have. Classic water glasses.

I always have an extra tingling of joy when I am drinking out of a beautiful glass — case in point below of a few of the beautiful pieces I have encountered. The colours of a drink pop, crispness feels greater, and in my eyes being able to look at beautiful art is a big plus and brings an extra layer of gratitude into day-to-day experiences such as drinks at dinner and a matcha out.

One of my favourite places to find and source any home goods is a beautiful store in Copenhagen called Rue Vert. I have a set of the shorter tumblers and one of the champagne glasses from the below image. Also not pictured is a stemless champagne glass from above which was also acquired here.

I often go one step further when it comes to mixology by adding beautiful ice in different shapes and sizes. My favourite being a large cube in which I have beomce quite the fan of marking with an ice stamp that I customized with our Anteros logo. Perfect for events and at home dinner parties. I also find this to be such a fun and personal house warming gift, where I engrave the first initials of those I am gifting them to for a personalized bar accessory for their home! The Etsy shop where I got mine is unfortunately closed, but this one looks incredibly similar and is customizable!

I really love anything that brings joy and an extra dose of beauty into my life. I feel the two are correlated in the sense that the reason I choose fashion as my career was to spread beauty, joy, and hopefully confidence to those who wear our pieces.

TA: You’ve written about the difference between buying trends and developing personal style. How do you think about that when building a wardrobe?
HB: You should be able to look at anything in your closet and feel fully aligned with it—otherwise it’s just taking up space. Your wardrobe is an extension of you, so it’s worth getting really honest about what feels right/what doesn’t. Trends can be fun, but they’re fleeting and can also be draining. Having a clear baseline keeps you grounded and makes everything else easier to filter through.

TA:You talk a lot about outfit formulas. What formula do you keep coming back to — and does that change when you’re moving between coasts and traveling?
HB: I try to stay consistent in how I dress regardless of where I am, though obviously climate can shift things a bit. I always come back to a relaxed pant with some shape, a minimal top (usually a crew neck), and a layer. Then a flat shoe which is most likely ballet flats or sandals, which I’ll make work year round. I’m pretty non-committal when it comes to planning outfits, especially while traveling, so layering gives me the flexibility to move through the day without overthinking it.

TA: Fit is everything for petite dressing. How do you know when something is truly cut for you versus just close enough?
HB: I never want to spend energy adjusting or fussing with my clothes. When the fit is right, you feel it immediately and it frees you up to put your attention elsewhere. The second I start questioning it or thinking about what I need to do to make it work, it already feels like too much effort. It should feel easy.

TA: Where do the Anteros pants fit into your everyday rhythm and formula?
HB: They fit in very naturally. I try not to overthink getting dressed, and Anteros pants kind of do the work for you…the cuts, colors, fabrics all speak for themselves. I almost never change into a completely different outfit from day to night either. I’d rather start with something I already love, whether that means repeating a look or slightly tweaking what I’m already wearing with the swap or a shoe or bag. Anteros pants make that feel really seamless.

TA: What does modern luxury mean to you?
HB: It’s internal. Feeling at ease, comfortable, and completely yourself.

Flore Flore — absolutely worth the money. it is made of 100% organic cotton, sturdy and durable, washes well without destroying the fibers, and the fit is unmatched. The reason Flore Flore pieces are so wearable is due to the length of the body. Rendering them not overwhelming with even high-rise bottoms, and fitted enough to be refined for evenings out or even to the office. Quality and value go miles here even at the higher price point for a t-shirt. My most worn styles are Car T-shirt, Esme Tank, Max long sleeve, and most recently the Iman long sleeve. But I also have this tank. They have also recently introduced different weights of their cottons which for styling purposes is instrumental. Along with always having incredible colourways on such wearable styles, making them very easy to wear all year round.

H-O-R-S-E: I had a friend come to me and ask about Sport & Rich, my honest opinion is that you are buying into a brand world, not a specific product. If you are product driven and care about fibers, I reccomend H-O-R-S-E. Rooting in 90’s minimalism where style and individuality was a cornerstone athleisure and its wearability in public. She was looking at the Pro Gym short and instead I showed her H-O-R-S-E’s The Long Short which sits at a very slightly higher price ($35 more) and uses 100% cotton terry meaning it will wear better longterm as the fibers won’t strip as you wash them.

The Anteros — I would be remiss if I didn't shamelessly plug The Anteros… but instead of just saying trust me, here's what we actually root every decision in. We work in three fibers: 100% Italian cotton, our proprietary Ultra Fine Merino Wool (developed with a fabric engineer in Northern Italy, from responsibly sourced Australian wool), and Belgian linen (more fibers coming soon though !!). Everything is made in small, family-owned factories in Portugal, where the goal is precision, not speed and we know people by name. We don’t work with polyester or synthetic fibers. And the pricing is thoughtful by design. Our goal was always what you pay reflects the actual cost of the fabric and the craftsmanship, not a markup for the name on the label. I am often asked where is the best place to start, the Presley in white Italian cotton right now is the piece I reach for more than anything else I own, along with our Asher in Ultra Fine Merino wool. But my other top pieces of this month are the Lennox, Naomi, Ledger, and Callum.

Naadam — for cashmere basics — now I am not talking the chunky cable knit that is unique and hand woven, however for the the ultimate grade A cashmere long sleeve crewneck, 3/4 superfine cashmere sweater, shawl, and sweatpants, this is the only place I go to for consistent quality and incredible pricing. I own all the above and they are absolutely wardrobe workhorses of mine.

Morgan LeFay — (mostly found second hand and in limited styles via her site). A long time NYC designer who I can truly say if you love Yohji Yamamoto, there is a similar air to the two of them. The draping, extra use of fabrication to create dimension, design intrigue rooted functionality yet there being much more than meets the eye. And pieces that truly become treasures throughout every era of your life, pieces that you hold onto and pass to the next generation, as most of my pieces have come from my mom, there is something nostalgic to having a piece from her, almost as if you know it will partake in both mundane and special moments in life as they are loud in design yet incredibly wearable. Her jackets and tops are what I gravitate towards most, but her dresses are incredible as well. Here are some options I found on TRR: incredible trench, coat, coat, coat, jacket, coat.

CUUP bra’s — I am very picky about my bra’s and I love a very particular fit. I truly only wear the CUUP Balconette bra, it has an underwire, but no lining, sits super easily under clothing, and works well with sheer as well. I also love them for the colours they use. I often love to pair the similar colors back to our Anteros pieces so that the bra feels seamless with the shirting I am wearing. I rarely need to replace them, but of course as all bras eventually do, they do stretch, but I find it takes them longer than other brands I have tried in the past. And as someone who is larger in the chest, I find them incredibly secure and comfortable.

While there we ate some incredible meals, Pace and Anajak Thai to be exact. Absolutely do not skip the salmon cooked on cedar or rigatoni alla salsiccia & peperoni arrostiti. As for Anajak, I don’t think there’s a single thing you could order that wouldn’t be incredible but the Fried chicken (dipped in the Crudo sauce) and their mango sticky rice really stuck out to me!

I of course made my obligatory stop at ShopRLT and picked up a fabulous new pair of vintage Levi’s in a darker wash that has filled a whole in my denim wardrobe.

I am truly loving the Nue Co smells at the moment, and a plus that they are synthetics free as to not disrupt my endocrine system, making them the perfect travel companion. my top two scents from them are Forest Lungs and First Milk.

is renovating the most gorgeous 1930’s home at the moment, which meant we got to bop around to some incredible interior stores, which you don’t have to ask too many times to get to join. Anything involving art and design, I am 100% in! I spotted a few pieces I am ruminating on that I’d love to incorporate in our NYC apartment.

While back in NYC braving the heat for the Kallmeyer sample sale which attended and she found the most beautiful top, I sadly walked away with nothing, but wore the below.

This is why I am so dedicated to preaching about our Asher pant in our propriety ultra fine merino wool because most natural fibers are thermoregulating, meaning they keep you cool in the heat, and warm in the colder months. I was more hot from the tank I was wearing than the wool pants I wore in 94 degree weather.

Linen has quite magical properties. And while I know some of us can be sick of linen for the summer as it can be expected, there is a reason it is. It is one of the most breathable natural fibers out there, that is thermoregulating, by working with your bodies temperature and not against it as we all sweat.. I mean glisten our way through the warmer months. My favourite thing about linen, a point that is rarely shared, about why it’s so great in hot weather is that it is anti-microbial and anti-bacterial. Actually being used in hospitals to assist in avoiding bacterial spread during your stay. All-in-all to say, linen is such a special fiber

What is so special about the linen we used for our Callum short and Asher pant in particular is its sturdiness, using stonewashed linen. We truly wanted this to be more than a summer-wear item, wanting it to carry you through more seasons than one. Due to its thickness and sturdiness it doubles almost as a denim replacement that can carry you through Fall and Spring.

Raw linen is stiff by nature, like denim, which is part of its charm, and takes time and wear to soften. The linen fabric is a created using a stonewash process, in which the fibers are tumbled with stone to breakdown its natural rigidity, a technique which was actually originally developed for denim, and later adapted to linen. It gives it the soft, slightly rumpled hand you'd otherwise only get after years of washing and wearing, just like vintage Levi’s often have.

I did hem our Asher pants in linen as we didn’t create them in a petite length yet, but that will come soon! Wearing with the Esme tank from Flore Flore, A.Emery sandals, and this bag.

Then it was off to Nantucket (my first time visiting)! Don’t let the above images of CT fool you, it rained 90% of the time we were in Nantucket (hence the following outfits) minus one night, but we still had the best time.

Our one rain free evening where I experienced maybe one of the most beautiful sunsets of my life. Everything was so lush, we even got to see wild bunnies!

There was some incredible antiquing to be done on the island. My boyfriend stumbled across this absolute GEM of a liquor cabinet, sadly she did not come home with us, but it’s staying high on my wish list and I'm manifesting it into existence!

Do not let the photos above deceive you, it rained every single day but 1 the entire time we were in Nantucket, making my most valuable player my old Tibi Anorak from about 5 years ago which they sadly no longer make, however this is an incredible close and chic alt.

I wore this on my head at all times to protect from both rain and sun, using these glasses (alt. here) during the sunny moments too. I tried this one as well, but preferred the rounded shape on me instead.

I can’t leave the house without this and this anymore, ruined me for any others!

I never used to be a shawl girl, but this completely changed the game for me and now it’s my favourite (and practical) outfit accessory! Thinking I need this colour as well.

Not a week that goes by where I am not wearing these — I paired them with this top one night and this sweater and shawl together the next, besides these, they were my most worn pant!

Incredible grade 100% superfine cashmere at an amazing price. This piece is super light and has a 3/4 sleeve making it the perfect warm weather knit. I also caved and found the last pair of the Thistle — Atlas sunglasses at Bomi NYC (also where I frequent for glassware, coming in the next substack!) — Thistles also happen to be at the same Pop-up The Anteros is at at 46 Hester st. through July 11th!

I’ve got a serious case of the shoppes, so ..

I went to Nili for a specific pair of sweats (pictured below that came home with me), I have been on the hunt for elevated lounge wear that I could pop on a heel with and transition to dinner via the shape. These succeed in that!

I also stumbled across this incredible windbreaker and perfect fitting jeans (for anyone 5’4 and below) which is ironic because usually her pants are incredibly long in the hem and require a hem no matter what.

Depending on the type of travel, I’m doing I really take it as the opportunity to pull out some of the pieces in my wardrobe that don’t get as much love as I would intend them to do and I don’t say this because they’re my more trendier pieces or that I don’t love them as much as my others, I actually do and maybe in some ways love them more, but it’s a constitution of them being wearable or constructive for my everyday life in the city I live in. The tank top with the flower attached or the bright colored something or other in the middle of winter in New York doesn’t necessarily work so p, so these pieces serve a purpose somewhere else (literally and figuratively) in my life.

I think we all forget that pieces in our wardrobe can serve different purposes in different areas on different days of our life, different seasons and I think that’s what’s so fun about clothing. There’s also this different pressure when you’re on vacation that you don’t need to be dressing for a specific day that you’re having. When I’m home in New York I do need the practicality of Oh I might need to walk 17 blocks or I need to transition from a meeting to a drink to a dinner with my boyfriend after work, while on vacation those subtleties of needing to differentiate the way that I change are different from my day-to-day life and that I guess is the point of vacation. Or I have the ability to do a quick change during the day. So my clothes need to do different duties on those trips.

The win is when you can have a piece that works for vacation and in your everyday life and I do think that should be the focus that we all land on, but let’s be real, it’s also really fun to have those sort of out of the box pieces that are great on a beach or a great on the ski slopes or great for a party in on the beach, because that brings a lot of fun back into our lives.

I don’t believe in saving something for a special occasion, I will wear my favorite heels or my favorite dress in different ways throughout the year, but of course there are pieces that are intended for different environments than others and it’s fun to see as your style evolves how you could make it work across functionally throughout your day-vacation-wardrobe.

Here is an example of an easy airport outfit for me. Relaxed pants (or vintage Levi’s that feel like sweats), one thing you will never catch me doing is wearing sweatpants to the airport, and not because I don’t think they can be chic, but I was raised by a woman who wears heels throughout the airport and on 10 hour long flights, so instead I found the middle ground of my comfiest most put together pieces, layers for warmth (and because I never pack my bulkiest items so that I can fit more in the suitcase), and and easy bulky shoe (usually a loafer or closed to flat that I can wear socks with or bring with me for security). Along with my giant tote filled with pouches and purses for easy access to items as I need them.

So for those of you who ask how I pack? I really try if I can, if the trip is under 4-5 days to do it in a carry-on for the sole purpose that I just really like to have my clothes physically with me not because I think I need to prove that I can pack in a carry-on because I can’t 90% of the time but when I can, I’m very proud of myself.

I always pack my foundations that if I were to ever feel like I don’t have an outfit they’ll save me. This includes either a long sleeve or a short sleeve tank T-shirt my favorite pair of jeans, a trusty sweater and a shoe that I know I can walk miles in. I don’t plan my outfits before travel unless I’m going to a wedding and I need to know what dress I’m wearing for the day of. I don’t like to be locked in to certain outfit because how I dress also depends on how I am feeling emotionally and physically.Maybe one day I feel bloated, or one day I just don’t want to be in jeans? I am also the kind of person that will pack a gown in case somebody invites me to a gala, but I’ll wear that gown to a casual dinner with my boyfriend on the beach if I don’t get the invitation to the gala, so multipurpose am I right?

There’s always a few things that I carry with me such as my supplements, my collagen and anything that makes me feel like I’m home and keeps me in a healthy routine as I’ve dealt with a few struggles with my health over the past two years with so much moving, I like feeling grounded.

This was the formula for this trip, I grabbed a shoe for walking, beach, and then two heels that I know are neutrals and comfortable (not shown are my airport flats).

packing not in outfits but in categories, shirts/tops, dresses, t-shirts/tanks, shorts, pants each in their own piles so I can see how the colours work together, but in all honestly, this was a fast pack and I grabbed the items I know I love wearing regardless of how I am feeling and that work pretty unanimously across the board. Mostly solid colours as it’s easier to pair than prints. But I definetely didn’t shy away from colour because 1. its summer in Puglia and 2. we love colour at The Anteros!

And as someone who has traveled quite often, I have tried the Tumi suitcases, the AWAY suitcases, and while yes I do think aesthetically Rimowas’s are the chicest, I actually find that I can stuff them with so much and that they are incredibly durable. and most importantly, the non-aluminum ones, are incredibly light weight, meaning if its a checked bag I get more in their without paying overweight fees, and for carryon, I can stuff it and still lift it over my head to the overhead bins.

What does every image of every cool girl and every chic outfit have in common? The clothing fits them perfectly. If oversized, its the right amount, not all encompassing, if cropped, it is proportional to their height and leg length, a pair of jeans, tailored to them, a dress hemmed to perfection, all of these perfectly chic outfits are an accumulation of items that fit perfectly and create a sense of ease and confidence in the person wearing them.

That was the goal when we started The Anteros, creating pieces that fit, that last beyond trends, seasons, even generations, and that are crafted with intention and natural fibers. This carried through as we worked on Chapter IV, and was a catalyst for our petite pants collection, as always a thought through every piece we design from shirting, to pants, to shorts, and hopefully onwards as our collections grow. We strive to make beautiful pieces that are made and designed for women with our bodies in mind, crafted with all natural fibers that feel good on the skin, while in high vibrational colourways.

Sitting at a whopping 5’2 myself, while my mother towers over me at 5’8, she ever so kindly did not share the gene of height with me… but I digress. I have always had to hem, alter and or just opt. out of not buying and wearing certain bottoms and tops for that matter, due to the extreme proportion imbalance and inseams. When we created out first run of pants, i.e. Ledger in cotton, it landed somewhere in the middle with the length being for someone in-between our heights, then came Asher and Noa which we left LONG on intention, as my mom has incredibly long legs and also had a hard time finding inseam’s that worked for her, and pants are also hard to find if you are quite tall or have very long legs.

Once we accomplished this, we turned to solve for my height, which led us down a road to not just shorten a pant, but to also adjust the rise, hem, and waist to account for the proportional change of height differences.

This felt natural, like not only an extension of us and our height differences, but an extension of who we are at Anteros. We design for the real woman from the ground up. Our double buttons at the chest to avoid the gaping pull while in any setting, not just important ones. Because feeling comfortable in clothing that truly fits, that is what makes us look and feel our best.

We then turned to something that has become quite a signature in The Anteros world, colour. Our newest additions are Azure, Pistachio, Butterscotch, Black (yes we heard all your pleas!), Ecru, and Fleshy Ocre (a delicious orange). Dustier tones mixed with vibrance so it never feels unwearable.

Another addition to Chapter IV that was a very considered addition to our world, was the addition of another natural fiber — Belgian linen. A fabric that can often be overlooked as just a summer staple when in reality can be utilized far more across seasons. Our pant and shorts we created out of linen have a heavier weight to them, allowing them to transition seamless through the seasons with you.

Natural fibers truly are heroes for that reason — linen wicks away moisture in the heat, is antibacterial and anti-microbial, and to make matters even more exciting, actually feel softer with age, every wash (machine washable might I add!) softening the fibers making them that more delicious every time you wear them. Below is our Asher pant in linen !! this will be available in Ecru — but this lovely willow colour will be available in shirting so don’t you worry!

How I have been sneaky wearing our new collection through the past months! from left to right: Saga in butterscotch wool, Rory in Dusty Lilac + Asher petite in black wool, Saga in butterscotch with matching Asher Petite Butterscotch wool pants !! second row: Naomi Azure (she has a double collar!), our FIRST iteration of Rory from March 4th of last year AND first iteration of Saga and Linen from May 24th of last year! We really do test wear our designs for a long time to make sure the fit and feel of fabric is perfect before we launch them for real!

Started the week off with finally, FINALLY got a res at the incredible I Sodi, we had the most amazing time, food, service, vibes, 12/10!

Sunday errand running look! I really love trench coat season, there’s something about it that is incredibly relaxed and malleable about a trench. I often roll the sleeves like I would a button down and allow it to act more as a top in certain instances. This is a very old Tibi trench that no longer exists, but these are the alts. I have been eyeing instead. I tend to lean interesting shapes when it comes to trenches so this Toteme (on sale) caught my eye right away. This is also an incredibly cool denim trench coat, that is a great shape and a very in blue that I think isn’t trendy, but is also different than a standard trench.

Also Clearstem (box in hand) and Sofie Pavitt’s #1 fan! — as you can tell by my 29174 orders. I also got the chance to meet Sofie last weekend, and let me tell you 1. she is such an angel in person, so kind, welcoming, caring, and 2. her products saved my skin! Namely the cleanclean cleanser + miscellar pad cleansers which she says you only need one of to remove a full face of makeup, but I still opt. for two just to be safe.

I also have been trying out the Dr. Diamond Instafacial trio, and while I am unable to use the Emulsion and Infusion steps on my face due to my skin not tolerating Niacinamide (I use it on my neck and décolletage instead), the Plasma step, WOW, I saw noticeable differences in the small lines on my forehead within the first week of use, a big fan, and will repurchase. Along with the clear stem CellRenew serum. Oops this is turning into a skincare post.

Was kindly offered some absolutely stunning flowers from Bottega after picking up my order, they lasted over a week!

Now that the Asher is made in a length that fits my 5’2 petite self it is pretty much the only pant I reach for on a weekly basis .. see below for all the ways I have been wearing and styling ! they are launching SO soon I can’t even contain myself!!

This is what I wore to a cozy Tuesday dinner out with a girlfriend with our Sloan in dusty Lilac in wool and my favourite Khaite shoes.

Also you guys know how much I love my 6397 sweater that I wear at least 3x a week, well turns out they make jeans, and they are perfect. Case in point below! I have been looking for a more bone beige colored jean and found that they have a pair! They definitely run TTS an honestly as a short girlie, these didn’t need to be hemmed to much! especially in the bone wash as the more a fabric is dyed the more it shrinks. But here is it slightly folded over and then the regular length so you can see the difference. Debating which colour I want more and then going back to purchase! — although now I can’t seem to find links for them online.. sorry!! but sometimes the best finds are in person!

She was like why are you taking a photo, I gotta go mom! Wearing our petite Asher in Thyme with yet another FloreFlore, long sleeve this time, my Morgan Le Fay trench, again, I love a unique trench! This is a very cool alt. and my Khaite shoes … again.. they are definitely earning their cost per wear!

Walking around NYC and grabbing a quick lunch mid-work-day with my in-laws! Clearly it’s trench season! Wearing this old Tibi cashmere t-shirt, this one is fairly unique due to how thick this cashmere is, I found one in the other colourway they made that season here, note I did size up and take an XS instead of my standard XXS. Paired with the petite Asher in black and my jellies.

A few Substacks back I spoke about parts of my wardrobe that need expanding and growth as I have evolved and am solving for certain areas, and the area that needed the most growth was my shoe department. I needed a classic black heel, heeled sandal, more flats, and a perfect black loafer. Of note, I am probably the worlds pickiest shoe shopper (ask my mother, I drive her nuts, and she is a show whisperer), so I wanted pieces I didn’t see everywhere and I knew that I would wear as they felt like the version of myself I am right now. and I were chatting the other day, and we both aligned, it's the year of shoes!

So far I have managed to find my perfect black loafer, a dream pair of flats, my on-my-wish-list-since-the-original-version-came-out black heel worth noting they run small, I am usually a size 38 and needed to get a size 39, and two misc. options I didn’t even know I was missing but have found much use out of recently.

Below, the warmest day so far and I went full throttle to shorts! The Anteros Coen short in fern to be exact, that you all seemed to love so much (which makes me so happy cause I love them too!), don’t worry we are bringing both colours back as quickly as we possible can! with a sneak peak of a new piece we are launching in June! I take an XXS in all Anteros pieces for sizing reference.

Said new piece (Naomi) with my tried and true very old Nilli Lotan Tomboy pant that they sadly don’t make anymore, and Khaite Shoes. I love this shirt so much! and it’s coming in more than just white ;)

BTW I spilled half of a Negroni all over my white cotton shirt the other day and THIS, I didn’t even dab it with water or anything before hand, got it right out! I sprayed the spots heavily, blotted with a clean tissue, and then let it sit and WOW. Forever a fan now.

Out for drinks & nibbles with a girlfriend, wearing NEW and coming oh so soon!! Anteros Asher Pant in black wool, we listened we know you all wanted so we made her asap!! anddd this is our petite version! She will also come in regular length as well as in our Noa pant! I paired with an old Massimo Dutti sheer long sleeve I think this is their updated version, but this Colleen Allen would be my alt. purchase, my Jil Sander Linen coat that I am sorry but I haven’t found a suitable replacement link for you all yet, but I will keep looking and trying on to see where I can find a piece similar because its my most worn coat, Khaite shoes that I am clearly obsessed with, and my mom’s old bag — here is a fab alt. I want to add.

A better look (below) at the shape of the pants for us petite girlies! (I am 5’2 for reference). Not the best outfit, but I was running to let to pup out to the bathroom, kept on my FloreFlore tank and A.Emery Kinto sandals were by the door, sometimes it just happens that way!

Also, quick side note ! I get a lot of people in real life asking me opinions on what I think of brands etc. purely based on price for quality, as I am a nerd in this department and since I spend so much time with fabrics for Anteros, and we only use the highest quality natural fibers, and truly try to wear only natural fibers to the best of my ability, I thought I might start sharing a few brands here that I totally believe in and think their quality and fabrics are great. FloreFlore is truly one, while I know it's pricer for a t-shirt / tank (yet not in comparison to TR and Khaite), their quality really lives up to the price and I have had most of my pieces for years at this point and haven’t seen any deterioration. It is worth noting that I do not put any of my clothing into the dryer, so as to preserve them, and use gentle natural detergent on cold delicate cycles, and then let them air dry — this goes for all my clothing, including undergarments. Let me know if any part of this at all interests you all because i’d love to do a deep dive into how to care for your pieces in general! As well as the benefits and qualities of different natural fibers, there are so many interesting facts!

What I wore to pick up pup & run a few errands close by— my absolute favorite trench of all time, the most interesting shape, structural and so elevated ! My can’t live withouts Crown Affair dry shampoo (travel size) & leave in conditioner I am a broken record at this point. My skin is very sensitive and both of Sofie Pavitt’s cleansers namely the micellar pads & cleanclean cleanser, keep my skin clear and happy without feeling even the slightest bit stripped or dried out. Along with falling in love with Merit Beauty products, trying this new blush that is a beautiful peachy colour. I also picked up this lipliner and this easy to apply eyeshadow. I have also become obsessed with and their makeup brushes for blush and foundation.

On to the next outfit !! One of my favourite sample sale finds back when sample sales were actually sample sales, this Monse incredible top, I paired with my tried and true very old Nili Lotan tomboy pants, Jellies, Via Coquina bag, and Bottega Sunnies.

Stopped for lunch with my bestie on the UES and had this incredible pasta and Chicken Pillared.

Then off to meet a new friend for drinks at my absolute favourite restaurant Antons, where they have the best food. Wearing and old Tibi top, The Anteros Ledger pant in fern, my jellies, and Loewe bag.

Then on the hottest day we have had so far, wearing my mom’s old and incredible Morgan Le Fay top (you can find some incredible pieces of hers on The Real Real exhibit A, B, C, D, E I have this trench and wear at least 3 times a week its the coolest shape while still being so classic, I leave notifies on for her pieces) with our Anteros Coen shorts in white, and my jellies. Clearly the jelly shoes were not a trend for me as I bring them out anytime the weather breads a hint of heat.

An overall fabulous photo with a few of my favourite people!

Finally got to bring out my absolute steal of a find, the Alaia Le Sculpture heels !! that I got at the Alaia sample sale a few months back. Paired with our new Saga in butterscotch wool that I wore in the above photo with its matching pant set. It’s become a piece I pull out for every occasion. That’s when I know we really did something good this season!

The above outfit was worn to dinner at Monkey Bar (we finally got a res) with an incredible friends with whom one I now get to work with and call a close friend! Always the best when these things happen.

In-between my mom and I did a lot of retail therapy as we like to say! I found my the perfect slightly baggy and relaxed T-shirt, not to take the place of my absolute favourite refined FloreFlore’s but an alt. when I am looking for a more chill fit. This James Perse t-shirt I got in navy and white to layer together after I saw the always chic layering her sadly sold out RLT t-shirts, that I will also be adding to my repertoire once back in stock. They James Perse t’s are the perfect petite girl shirt, sitting more cropped than the FloreFlore’s.

I also tried this incredible 100% cotton sweater from James Perse, that is the prefect warm weather sweater, super breathable and easy to wear and I will be adding to my wardrobe in the near future.

Via I happily discovered Officina 1397 in the west village. Across from and owned by the Via Carota/I Sodi team, the incredibly chic and small boutique grocery making fresh sourdough and bringing in fresh eggs from a farm upstate with French butter, a dream store if I ever did hear one. I am here once a week now. Pro tip, go early to make sure the sourdough is available! I am currently snacking on the sourdough as I write this.

My mom and I hosted in person private styling appointments this past weekend in NYC and had truly the most incredible time connecting with so many of you and sharing bits of the new collection! Always such pinch me moments getting to share and talk about our pieces in real life with everyone ! We are hoping to do more and more of these, if you have a city you want us to visit let me know in the comments! We’d love to come see you!!

Wearing two new unreleased Anteros pieces ;) ! Our Rory shirt in Dusty Lilac which I’ve been subtly been hinting at since last summer, as well as our final samples of our petite Asher Pant in black wool!! along with one of my favorite new purchases these Khaite flats that feel like walking on a cloud. The Zebra ponyhair is much more versatile than I even thought, and I love a wild shoe, as pointed out by my boyfriend.

Felt called to work with my natural hair. I am still working out what products I like best, but so far everything Crown Affair has lead me to this result, so I am sticking with them!

A lovely family dinner at one of our favourite restaurants, Jeju. If you live in or are ever in NYC, I highly recommend making this a top spot to visit on your list.

If you have been following along for a while or if you have listened to me ramble about the importance of what we put on our bodies as our skin is our largest organ, then you probably know how much I truly try to keep what I put on my body as high of frequency and natural as possible. kindly reached out asking if she could send me The Nu Co’s Functional Fragrances it was an immediate yes! Scents truly can correlate to memories and the fact that these are created to evoke a sense of emotion while being natural non-endocrine disruptors — which is also a perk natural fibers of clothing as well! So the alignment felt very strong, as well as the fragrances smelling delicious. This scent has become a winner in my household for both me and my boyfriend.

When Winter reared its head one more time before spring officially hit us.. or so I thought…

And then the next day spring showed up and I pulled out some of my favourite pieces!

Was very kindly gifted Good Weather Skins’ new SPF lip balms, I prefer ripe berry and they are fabulous! I can’t use their sunscreen cause my skin is super sensitive to niacinamide, but so far am loving their lip balms! They come in two colours and coincidentally matched my favourite summer bag perfect — also the pouches from this store are incredible, I have two and it makes the transfer from bag to bag incredibly easy and efficient! Plus, they come in so many amazing colours that it just adds to the joy of looking in my bag.

The first warm and sunny day this spring that felt like summer! Pulled what I know is going to be my go to outfit for this season! Went to some coffee meetings and then to WFH.

Ok, enough housekeeping, now back to regularly scheduled programming! Spring has been trying to poke its head out in NYC as well as in Italy, but the saying is really reigning true.. “April showers being May flowers,” both of us have been swamped with rain, with the occasional warm day here and there, so here’s what we both have been wearing. Leaning heavily into brighter tones to mimic real spring.

Like mother, like daughter, after being reminded by how much we adore the Dusty Lilac colourway, have both have been gravitating towards those pieces much more, and it got us into a conversation about why.

There is something to a colour being easier to wear when it lives within its more muted and dusty counterpart. It makes it incredibly wearable and a multi-hyphenate allowing it to shine amongst neutrals and hold calmness with louder tones. Our dusty lilac can read more gray in some lights, and purple in others, making it a very intriguing yet very easy to wear colour that we having been wearing with everything and can often get overlook, but as soon as people see it in person, they totally get the why.

Here’s what we have been wearing and when:

Coffee meetings & WFH — to me here, in this look, the white shoe is actaully the loud pop-of-colour since the purple and browns are living within their dusty counterparts, even though white is also a neutral, its the loudest one of the bunch here.

WFH — and let me tell you, the colour pants and shoes here live in my head rent free and I have been hypothesizing how to “barrow” them from her closet.. don’t tell her I said that! Again, the shirting isn’t reading loud becuase both top and bottom aren’t the loud versions of each colour.

Saturday about town — testing out our new Saga in wool butterscotch !! shh don’t tell I shared with you all!

Weekend work + lunching

Coffee meetings + WFH — where it was incredibly sunny so I dressed for spring, but got out side and realized I still needed a coat.. so my trusty Jil Sander came with me!

There’s a lot to unpack in colour theory, and I spent about 4 hours with my dad a few weeks back going through am I a spring/summer/autumn/winter, the book from the 50’s, and quite frankly, i’m not sure I subscribe to that version of colour theory, but also interesting to dissect! I am more in the camp of, when the tone is thoughtful and wearable, it actually works across skin tone, hair tones, and eye colours.

And how I transitioned this outfit to a dinner out with some girlfriends by adding my trusty Silver pumps. We would consider silver a neutral, as again I feel like it falls into the category our dusty lilac does, it can be loud when you need and muted when you need, garnering it the perfect workhorse to have in your wardrobe. I also think that the silver being in a shoe tones it down, where as if I were to be wearing a silver jacket, it holds more surface area and is much more pronounced.

Where it was a much Spring-ier day in Puglia than in NYC, breaking out the Coen shorts in Fern, which were a major wardrobe workhorse for me last summer into fall.

A haircut from my one and only, Younghee!

A very random and fun impromptu cooking class with some girlfriends which started with getting together for a glass of wine and being summoned to the kitchen to make gnocchi ! Absolutely zero complaints on my end! Was surprisingly easy to make? and WOW the sauce has been living in my head since.

I’ve also noticed how much I have been gravitating towards our Ledger pants & Coen shorts in white cotton (sorry I haven’t taken photos of me wearing been rushing around all week) so I thought I would share some ways I am wearing them into spring !

My mom and I have the same taste in pieces, yet how we style and what shapes we gravitate towards putting pieces with, tend to be where we differ. However, we always align on wanting the same moments and silhouettes design wise. During the design process when we are both craving a silhouette and colour, and can think of endless ways in our own personal styles and seasons of life to wear it, that’s when we know it’s meant to join the collection.

I would say that my mom tends to lean more elegant and feminine, while I would say I lean more relaxed and edgy, while still elegant. We overlap in certain areas, and of course, she is the woman who raised me, so there are many styling tips and tricks I’ve picked up from her and our joint personal style over the years, but it’s been very fun as of more recently, she has been taking tips and tricks from me as well.

Below are just some of the ways we are wearing the same fabrication and colours but in our own ways and the personal styles that has been built off of the experiences we have lived.

Here’s what I wore for a very fun GNO with some amazinggggg ladies that I am lucky to call friends and two of the chicest ladies out there and who I adore following on Substack as well!

Make-up for said beauty-night-out. Please note I am absolutely no makeup expert, in fact I am probably the opposite and have a bit of a tainted view as someone who had acne for a long time. I am still trying to de-associate make up with needing to cover up zits and instead be artistic and a way to enhance my natural features. Felt cute, might delete later xx

I took a leisurely walk on a me-day Saturday and went to La Garconne in NYC and tried on a few pieces, sweater & pants. Also went with my natural hair texture this day, still figuring out how to wear her!

Per last weeks substack, I have found that a large hole in my wardrobe can be attributed to shoes, which if you know my mother would seem incredibly impossible as she is the queen of shoes and has the most incredible collection. I on the other hand (and she will coorberate), and the MOST picky person to ever exist when it comes to purchasing shoes. I guess we should have known considering when I was a child I refused to wear shoes often needing to be bribed with chocolate chip cookies to wear them, but as an adult, I guess it’s kind of a requirement to leave the house?

This was what I acquired at the Alaia sample sale — the clogs (here in white size 38 & 39 + a fun Chanel alt.) have been on my wish list for AGES (see below for how I am already wearing them) and these stunning, architectural pumps

These would be #1 on my wishlist as an alt. to the Alaia one’s, more weather friendly & more friendly heels height, plus an insanely cool colour.

And another pair I just added to my repertoire !! obsessed is an understatement. My first big girl pair of loafers and I am really happy with my choice! I had been eyeing The Row tassel loafers + the eel ones, but these felt a little less recognizable to me and almost had this worn in look that absolutely captivated me. But The Row ones are still on my wish list and probably will get those at some point. Also, I have a wide foot and these are fab for that, but I did take a half size down. Found in a 37 here and 38 here.

This is why I always preach that style is so personal and that your style is a culmination of experiences and growth you have experienced in your life. Pieces won’t feel right, unless they truly feel like who you, whoever that is at any given moment.

Does that mean I need to go out a buy an entire new wardrobe? no, but it can be why sometimes we wake up 5 years after curating what was the perfect wardrobe for ourselves and going “I have nothing to wear.” We are right, we might need to change up how we wear what we have or note what is missing for the person we have become due to external growth and other factors of the human existence. Yet there are also pieces, usually the fundamentals and incredibly well fitting (to our own bodies) articles of clothing, that stand the test of time. The jean, button down, sweater, shoe etc. and these pieces we guard and hold onto. There are also the emotionally attached pieces that were pivotal to a moment in time that we just can’t part with that are more unique, but truly represents who we are at our core. If there’s an emotional attachment to a piece that was very relevant to a piece of time in your life, there is no harm in keeping in your closet, IMO.

I have learned a lot of this from watching my mother shop and get dressed over the years. There are staples that she always returns to, that have come through each season of who she is with her, and pieces that become interchangeable. But the biggest lesson I have learned is that your style evolves with you, and her most treasured pieces often have picked up in her travels along the way and she wears things from each season of life together, reflecting the woman she is now.

I’ve had a bit of a realization lately, maybe its the fourth move in two years, leaving an old job and starting something I used to dream of, or getting to see parts of my wardrobe I haven’t seen in ages ages (that I surprisingly didn’t miss and many pieces I did), or the fact that I have grown and changed a lot during this time and no longer resonate with portions of my wardrobe, i.e my older self —but I am truly feeling the calling for a bit of a closet clean-out of my trendier pieces, to welcome in the new (me), and I thought, why not take you all on this journey with me.

For two parts, one being, as a designer, it’s funny to think that I want to cull my wardrobe when this is what I do for a living, but it’s the exact reason of being a designer that has made me want to. See, I am hands deep in creating and this really pushes me to think what newness we want each time we drop a collection. Not to create for the sake of putting new pieces out, because we actually don’t follow the traditional schedule either.

Bringing Anteros to life over the past almost two years, has allowed me to create and really understand garments and fit in a much more intimate way, creating clothing for real women to fit our bodies and how we want things to sit in the first place. Anteros pieces really stem from what my mom and I are feeling is missing in our closet as true sartorial saviours or that we know we have gravitated towards in ever season of life — fabrics, colours, and silhouettes that we know will are staples and workhorses for us, because chances are, someone else is craving that too.

I think more than anything, I am craving pieces that fit me perfectly, that work with my body and make me feel good. We are intentionally creating thoughtful designs, where its the double buttons at the chest to account for the fact that some boobs sit high, some sit lower, or sometimes you just want the flexibility in where the shirt opening is. Or our petite silhouettes (coming soon!!!), that aren’t just shorting the pant length, but adjusting the waist, hem, and rise. We aren’t creating to create, we are designing for real women and the everyday lives we lead where we need our clothing to fit us well and make us feel good, and truly stand the test of time.

A home purchase, as we just moved into our new NYC apartment! I have been eyeing these martini glasses from Bobo since one of my most favourite meals in Copenhagen. A Swedish brand that uses lead-free crystal and is the most gorgeous, delicate, delicious glassware I have ever seen. Could not recommend more! Here it is IRL at restaurant Bobe (also the best dirty martini I have ever had).

And here are some genres of items that I have realized I am missing from my wardrobe and have my eye on, to hopefully bring into my wardrobe.

1. mini black bag for dinners or evenings out

LV Monogram Honfleur, now I am not usually an LV girl, but this shape is really sleek and easy. Vintage Hermes Onimetu all preowned, and in more colours. Vintage Bottega Intrecciato Knot clutch because I mean duh, this version is MAJOR. and Khaite pony hair pencil bag.

2. Black heels - may or may not surprise you to know that I don’t have a ton of black in my wardrobe, but a classic and universal pair of black heels are a sartorial savior and something I am craving in my closet. Here are my picks below:

THESE Bottega’s that literally have been on my wish list for years at this point, here are some sizes for you guys and also in white. I tried these insanely comfortable Alexandre Birman’s on in the store (you need to size up a half size), giving The Row, but also just incredible chic and so comfortable, they didn’t have my size in store at the time, so need to circle back for these babies. Adoring these The Row shoes, feels really refined but still so powerful in the patent. These Alaia’s are what dreams are made of, no notes.

3. Sweater(s) — those throw-on-problem-solving-do-all kind of sweaters. These are top of the wishlist.

   

From left to right: 44OME incredible easy neutral, I also like this colourway, that is also of natural fibers and we know how I feel about natural fibers. Another 44OME in a high v-neck, I don’t feel like I am a fan of low V neck’s, but that’s just personal on me. The Row Battersea cardigan, unfortunately she is that girl.. i’ve tried and tested her, it’s an addition that is not an if, but a when for my wardrobe, more sizes here. Another The Row piece, but it’s such an incredible shape and weight that’s really an all year round piece IMO. Lastly, this really intriguing short sleeve sweater from Kallmeyer that is on sale.
