I am currently reading the book ‘The Art of Selling’ by Lefteris Papageorgiou, and it’s one of the best books on how to sell. One of the chapters is on trust. These are 3 pointers from the chapter and here’s how it applies to life:

According to Frances Frei, a Harvard professor, there are three basic rules of trust:
The customer feels you know what you’re talking about and you’re capable of doing what you say.
They sense you’re being authentic.
If they feel you understand their needs and will do everything necessary for them, you have a better chance of being trusted.

This part not only focuses on the business’s trust but also on personal life, and creating content can help you build trust, which can lead to opportunities.

When you create content, it helps build trust and authority for yourself. So when you are selling a product in the future, your customers can more easily trust you and get to know you through your content. It’s authenticity that builds trust. You create a good impression through your content even before you meet them. This also applies to future recruiters, as it would be easier for them to know who they are hiring.

My previous week in BLR

Last week, I attended 2 events in Bangalore.

Firstly, I went to the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore

IIMB hosted VENIX 2026, an international business and entrepreneurship festival.

I went there for one session, ‘Ideas that Scale: Building Brands, Business and Influence,’ and especially met Akash and Siddharth.

On the panel were creators like Akash Majumder, Alpana Sharma, Nivedan Rathi, Kushal Lodha and Siddharth Warrier.

It was one of the best sessions I attended. Major highlights were learning about the monetisation of content creation.

It was so great to see the IIMB campus, they have a very lovely campus. Being a fan of the movie and getting to see the campus was a dream come true. I am a huge fan of the movie, and I really loved the whole experience on campus.

Volunteered in the Treasure Hunt hosted by Agara Walks & Filter Kappi and The AI Collective.

Agara Walks is a weekly weekend walk around Agara Lake. The AI Collective Bengaluru hosts founders, builders and operators through hands-on experiences and communities around AI and technology.

They hosted a HSR Treasure Hunt where founders had to do a treasure hunt and win prizes. I volunteered there.

So, it’s been about 9 months since I moved to Bangalore. I moved here to work with Fueler as Founder’s Office. I mostly look after Marketing and Growth.

I have missed writing a lot of issues of the newsletter due to a lot of things. For the longest time, I have been telling myself to restart this newsletter, kept giving different reasons, but yeah, just thought to restart with this one.

One of the things I love is to travel, and being here in the new city, I have explored a lot and eaten a lot of good food.

One of the things I do every weekend here is attend events. So, here’s all the events I attended last week.

Last week, I attended 3 meetups:

1/ First, it was a Coffee Crawl hosted by SimplySipping

We started with Kanasu Kaffi in JP Nagar, where we did the basics of Espresso, Latte, and Cold Brew.

Then the next stop was Caffeine Baar Cafe & Roastery, it was all about knowing what goes into the processing of the beans and the different kinds of roast.

Lastly, at Benki Coffee, I learnt about the machines and equipment that make a cup of coffee, and why good gear isn’t cheap (Saw a 30 Lakhs coffee machine 🤯)

It was one of the best meetups I have been to. We all tasted 2-3 different kinds of coffees at each stop. We all tasted 7-8 different kinds of coffees altogether.

2/ Met Sajith Pai (Partner at Blume Ventures)

It was a masterclass on reading the Indian market, finding PMF, early GTM, and raising with Sajith in the form of QnA.

Here are a few things that I learnt,

- If a customer leaves you, talk to them

- Talking to your users isn’t just optional, it’s the job

- Trust compounds slower than growth, but it’s what actually holds everything together

- Your founder brand and your company brand end up shaping each other, whether you plan for it or not

3/ Agara Walks and Filter Kappi

This is one of the only things I look forward to on the weekend. This is the walk hosted by Srikanth Prabhu, VP-Business at Qapita.

He hosts this walk every Saturday, and the theme is that it’s 2 rounds around Agara Lake in HSR, and you meet people who have come. I’ve met some of the best people here on the walk.

Tomorrow, they are doing a ‘founder’s treasure hunt across HSR’ in partnership with The AI Collective and Basecamp by Elevation Capital. I am going here, if you are in BLR, come say hi.

Here, I am back again. For the last few months, every Thursday at 11 pm, I realised it was Friday the next day, and I needed to write the newsletter. Then I procrastinated and delayed it to next Thursday.

In 2025, I just wrote 27 newsletters. I was very inconsistent. The whole reason of me starting my newsletter was to document my work, share my learnings, share what I was working on, etc.

But now taking about this as a challenge for this new year, hoping to write this newsletter every week and share it every Friday.

There were a lot of new folks who subscribed to the newsletter, so here’s a quick intro about me:

I started creating content on YouTube and this newsletter in 2021.
Currently, I am working at Fueler, where I am heading their content and growth.

Last week, I moved to Bangalore from Delhi. It is the biggest change for me.

I have moved a lot of places, changed homes, changed states, but this change is very different.

This is the first time I am moving out of my parents’ home. Surely I’ll get to learn more and explore more.

I’m working in Fueler, I am handling their Content and Growth. Since our office is in Bangalore, that was the main reason to move.

But, since Bangalore has a lot of opportunities, the best people are in Bangalore, good events keep happening in Bangalore, that’s the best in the city.

A few days ago, we, a group of content creators, started a challenge to make content consistently. Whether it’s on YouTube, IG, or LinkedIn, and whether it's once a week or every day, everyone chooses their format. It was just a challenge we all took to be consistent in making content.

For this challenge, I chose to create content on Instagram twice a week. It’s going well, except for this week, when I missed posting a reel.

In this process, I realized that I was unnecessarily procrastinating a lot to make content. It just took my 30-40 minutes to fully create a reel and post it, from ideating, shooting, editing, posting, it all took 30 minutes. I just needed those first 2 reels to get into momentum.

I don’t know if you remember 10th class science, but there was something called Newton’s first law: an object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion continues in motion with constant speed. The same applies to most of the things we do.

I have been a little busy and have not been consistent in writing these newsletters. This is a newsletter after a long time; hopefully, I will be consistent in posting it.

I am that person who would ask for what I want and not have a share in asking it. What’s the worst that they can say, “NO”. You cannot do much here, but you tried

There’s one thing I learnt while working in startups: Entrepreneurial Skills: Beg, Borrow, Steal

This is a great article by Raj Shankar. It’s about:

Learn to ask (literally beg if needs be) for resources your start-up requires.
Borrow resources before buying into any.
Keep an open mind to pick and use what has already been created. Don’t reinvent the wheel.

The basic crux about it is, in startups, you don’t have resourses, you have to get the work done any how. You’ll have ask for a lot of things, resources, help, etc, as you are very low on resources and money at the start. You cannot just sit and wonder around.

Yesterday, I attended The Builder’s Roundtable by WeWork Labs. It was a good event, and I met a lot of good people.

For your context, there were different roundtables, such as Finance, SaaS / AI, Consumer, The Builder’s Table (Founder’s Forum), etc. Founders were at each table, talking about each topic.

On the Builder’s Table, on which I was sitting, I met Abhinav. He started by working in ITC, then went to American Express, and then to Uber. I met him post the roundtable and had a good conversation with him.

There were a a lot of things we spoke about, but here are a few things from the conversation that I observed or learnt.

You need to be persistent in what you want

If you want anything, and that is right, you need to be willing to do anything to get it done. At least you need to give your 111% in doing it.

Real learning happens when you are actually working or learning on your own

You can be from a good college or so good college. There will be 80% of the things that you will not apply your college learnings in the real world (some professions excluded). You will have to learn a lot of things on your own.

The best learning is when you are thrown into problems

Abhinav shared how he was solving cases where he was working. There, he had the massive learning and the credibility of working on such cases or problems.

I have been working in startups for the last 2 years. I had the best learning in these years as compared to what I would have learnt in college or school.

When I started making videos in April 2021, I was that stupid kid trying to change the education system. Later, it became about me documenting my work and learning.

If you see my old videos (which I don’t recommend 😅), I was the stupidest person making videos every week. I didn’t think much about how stupid I looked, but I any which ways, made them. I didn’t get many views initially, still showed up.

It was way later that I got multiple opportunities because of making videos. I got my first internship at Thousand Faces Club because of a podcast with Dr. Sid Warrier, it was because of my YouTube knowledge that gave me my second internship at Build Academy. Then the social media and the 2 internships gave me another internship at Fueler in 2023.

In the process, I met a lot of interesting people and built a lot of amazing projects.

It was that courage of looking stupid that made me better at making videos.

This week, I completed 2 months at Fueler. It's been fun working with Riten and the team.

A lot has happened in the last two months. It’s been a roller-coaster ride, and there has been significant change.

I have been learning more about marketing and how to do it. I have been focusing on LinkedIn and helping Riten with his LinkedIn. It has been a massive learning.

I have also been learning sales. Sales are one of the main pillars of every business. If you are not able to sell your product or service, that will not work for a long time. So, how to talk to people, how to sell your work, and a lot of other things regarding sales.

We also help companies hire through proof of work. So, we help them hire through assignments, that’s our USP. In the last 2 months, I spoke to significant companies, learning about their work and learning this part of the work.

Been a great experience working with Fueler.

When I started making videos on YouTube in April 2021, I was always fascinated by the Silver and Gold Play Button YouTube gives to creators. But I was just starting, and it was a long way to 100K for Silver. So what, I decided to make one for myself.

For this, I took inspiration from this video of Mad Stuff with Rob. If you watched POGO in the early 2010s, you might know him from the show M.A.D. who did art.

I started making this play button after uploading a few videos. So, it denotes a lot of things I used while making the videos.

If you see on the left,

The yellow scissors type icon is the cut icon from a video editing software. Since I was learning video editing, I drew that as a reminder.
The Purple icon is the Vita App I started editing videos on. It didn’t have a watermark and was simple to edit.
The table lamp was gifted to me by my friend. I used to keep my phone on that lamp and record the videos. The lamp acted as a good source of light for me.
The Yellow rectangle shape is my mobile. And I didn’t have a mic, so I used to plug in earphones and used their mic to record the audio.

On the right:

It’s the yellow Post-it notes. I used to write pointers on it and stick it under the phone for reference for the video.
Then it’s the notebook in which I used to write my notes for the video
Then it’s Canva, I made my thumbnails in it.

Lastly, I cut out each and every letter from the newspaper and stuck it in order. It spells like, ‘Congratulations An Inquisitive Storyteller for starting a YouTube Channel’.

I always keep it on my table. Always reminds me of the start.

This week, I started reading a book called Founding Sales by Peter Kazanjy. In part 1 of the book, he writes about the mindset we need to have to be a good salesperson.

In his first mindset, he writes about Embracing Plenty, not scarcity.

He tells that we all are taught to conserve resources. We’re told not to waste things.
The thinking should be “Even if this one does not work out, there’s a line of thousands standing behind it that I need to get to.”
Spend good time with good opportunities. Let go of the marginal opps, knowing that you can get them later if they become more viable. There’s plenty of opportunity here.

This is referring to working with clients. The author is trying to say that people are sad if they can’t work with one client. They don’t see the other opportunities where they can do business better.

A similar thing happens with us. We work very hard on a particular thing, and it might fail. We may not realise it happened for good, and there was something better than that.

There’s a bigger and better door waiting for you to leave the small door, where you are stuck, and the newer one has a lot of new opportunities.

A couple of days ago, I met Vibhor Agarwal from the Founder’s Office at Hike during an event. It was nice catching up with him after a long time. This was during my first week of joining Fueler. Since Vibhor has been at Hike since March 2023 and his role has evolved significantly, I spoke with him about his position in the Founder’s Office.

I asked him what it takes to be in that role and what responsibilities he has. He mentioned one point: the person in the founder’s office must have a ‘Bias Towards Action.’ The founder has many things on their plate, and you need to lighten the load for him or her. This means you have to work on more than one or two areas, but across various niches, like design, content, operations, and marketing. Additionally, you need to know a wide range of topics as well.

It was April 2022 when I had my first call with Riten. I was amazed by how he and the team were building Fueler.

It was then that I started making proof of work on Fueler. Then I got into the community, and I have met some of the best people in the community.

Then I started actively making portfolios and hosting them on Fueler. I started using it to get opportunities. In a year, I got to intern at Fueler in April 2023. I learnt a lot in that internship. I interned for a few months.

Now, I am back at Fueler again, but now as a full-time. I am joining as Founder’s Office (Content and Growth).

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when it’s to a place that’s shaped you in so many ways. After an amazing 1.5 years, I am now moving on to something new.

I was the first person to join HiveSchool. It was just Nikhil and I who started working on this idea of a sales school. From those late-night meetings, creating its first website, shooting content, etc., I’ll never forget the three days we spent in Mumbai shooting for Shark Tank India Season 4.

Why am I moving?

tbh was a tough decision. I always wanted to make a dent in the educational system, and it was possible to do it with Hive.

I wanted to explore new things and work on new projects.

This all might come as shock. A lot of people has saw me as a core member of HiveSchool. Now, I am moving on something big.

I have built a lot of things here and learnt some valuable lessons. Here are some of them:

As we grow, there will be people pulling us down. They don’t want us see grow. We need to neglect them and stay humble.
Execution >>>
Every problem in life has a solution, you have to think about the solution and tackle it faster
And how education works
Beg, Borrow, Steal, and get the work done
As a startup, you have very little money. You can’t afford a lot of things and importantly, resources to build. You need to beg, borrow, steal (resources), and get the work done.

It’s been a ride. Learnt a lot of hard lessons along the journey. Met some of the best people, built a team and had a lot of fun. Can’t believe we did go to Shark Tank India Season 4.

I took a Notion Session

I had been seeing Dr. Sid Warrier’s content on the internet, whether on his YouTube channel or in podcasts of Tanmay Bhatt and Ranveer Show. Since I loved his content, I wanted to talk to him and record a podcast.

So, in December 2022, I emailed him asking for his 30 minutes. I thought, let’s write it, the worst case is, he won’t reply or say no. As I was at around 300 subscribers

Next month, in January, he said yes, and I did a podcast with him. It was a huge thing for a small creator like me.

Same month, Thousand Faces Club was hiring for a Community Outreach Intern, and I applied. They saw my work in content and the podcast with Dr. Sid Warrier, and in the interview, they asked how I did a podcast with him. I explained the story, how I cold emailed him and did a podcast. They loved it so much, I was later hired for it.

That one email changed my life. It made me realize how opportunities are just there, you need to knock on the door. Why wait for someone’s permission?

You wake up in a 3rd world jail cell. You’re only allowed to call one person you know to get you out of there. Who do you call?

The person you picked has something. That ‘something' is high agency.‍

This question is from George Mark’s essay High Agency. ‍

It’s a great essay, and I recommend that everyone read it. Here are some qualities by which you can spot High Agency People:

Bias towards action: People who don’t need permission to take action. They will start working even if they don’t have full knowledge or enough resources, they take the action.
Self-taught learning mentality: They don’t wait for someone to teach them. It’s searching on Perplexity or Grok, ‘Give me a road map to learn this skill’.
Being resourceful: Focus on the content’s quality, not on its engagement. Also, can spot upcoming trends early.
Rebellious Spirit: They question default authority and have an aversion to being told no.
You can never guess their opinion: A writer who draws, a painter who reads history, etc.

I heard about skin in the game from a couple of months ago. While working with him in Fueler two years ago, or in community sessions, he mentioned it. Recently, I realized how important it is.

In 2021, I started making content on YouTube and a Newsletter.

In 2022, I began focusing on creating my Proof of Work and, later on, learning more about content.

After making a lot of content and learning about it, I got my first internship in 2023, and since then, I have worked at Thousand Faces Club, Build Academy, Fueler, and HiveSchool, learning more about content strategy, operations, social media, and marketing.

Having skin in the game helped me a lot. Building my proof of work and pitching it to people opened many opportunities for me.

I was always fascinated by people having their personal websites, where people showcased their work, curated resources, links to their projects, etc. I loved how people told their stories on the internet in a visual manner. That’s why I decided to make a website for myself.

Today, here’s the story of how my website has evolved over the last 3 years. It has been a fun journey. In total, I revamped my website 4 times. Recently, I made it on Framer. Read the full journey here:

My First Website

I made it on Notion and connected it through Super.so to host it as a website:

It was my first time making a website. I saw a YouTube live session by Vensy Krishna showing how to make a Notion website, so I made one for myself.

It was the best, as it was my first website, I was using Notion (my favourite tool), and I could tell people that I had a website.

Second Website with a domain!

On my 17th birthday, I bought the domain and hosted it on Google Sites. When you had a Domain on Google Domains, you got a few free hosting websites on Google Sites, so it was a cheaper price.

Not a good-looking website, but but loved how I got to just drag photos and text and embed links. It was so amazing to see my domain live about my work.

Third Website: WordPress Shift

A year later, Google sold its ‘Google Domains’ to Squarespace, and when I saw the prices of Squarespace, I realised, WordPress can be a good option.

Also, I was planning to host some blogs on my website back then, and I heard WordPress had a good CMS, so I thought I could move to it. But never ended up making one.

Lastly, Framer

The last WordPress website is a better version I started making a month ago. I sent that link to a few friends for feedback.

One of my friends suggested that I use Framer for making a website. He said that I know Framer, I should make it using it, as it looks good as compared to a WordPress website.

So, I made the website on Framer. It’s a place that showed my journey, my work, and my content.

Thanks to Tejas and Shashank for helping me with the website. Two of the best guys I know for making great websites. This couldn’t have been possible without them.

I watched a WTF podcast by Nikhil Kamat, where Kishore, Raj, and Ananth talk about what goes into building a fashion, beauty, or home brand. In the podcast Raj Shamani talks about how his startup ‘House of X’ raised 3x of the amount from a VC called Lightspeed and here are 3 key points he shared that you can use.

He did a test pitch in front of other founders
He did a practice pitch in front of 10-15 founders and had them craft his pitch so that it was perfect on the main day.
He told them to act as devil's advocate and prove what he said wrong to improve him.
Growth of Creator or Influencer brands
Influencer-led brands are growing in the US, Korea, and China and there’s a huge potential in India as well. So the investors believed in the idea.
People believed him
People believed in him because of his experience and the people he was building with.
All the work he did in the past, built his credibility. As he started the business at 16, built a good detergent brand, and later content.
That’s why, if you are working on something, how you scale it, and how people recommend you, everything matters a lot.
