In January 2023, the total value of tokenised U.S. Treasuries onchain was approximately ~$100 million. By mid 2026, that number had crossed $15 billion. In under three years, the market grew roughly 150 times over.

This did not happen because of hype. It happened because the largest asset managers in the world, BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, JPMorgan, and other major financial institutions began building around tokenised Treasury infrastructure.

Tokenised Treasuries are now the most validated asset class in the onchain RWA market. They are the proof of concept that institutional tokenisation works.

What Tokenised Treasuries Are

A tokenised Treasury is an onchain representation of government debt, typically short-duration instruments such as Treasury bills, notes, or money market funds backed by government securities.

The underlying asset does not change. What changes is how it is held, transferred, and managed. Instead of sitting in a custodial account settled over a fixed cycle through intermediaries, a tokenised Treasury exists as a digital token on a blockchain, same underlying exposure, with programmable properties layered on top.

How Treasuries Operate in Traditional Markets

The U.S. Treasury market sits at approximately $28 trillion in outstanding securities, the largest fixed income market in the world.

Tokenising a Treasury product is not simply minting a token against an underlying asset.

Institutional Treasury products require a full operational stack, issuance, entitlement tracking, subscriptions, redemptions, transfer restrictions, servicing, compliance controls, and access policies all functioning consistently throughout the product lifecycle.

Community AMAs

We hosted two X Spaces this month with some of the most active builders in the RWA space.

Our First AMA was with IXS and Julian Kwan , CEO of IXS, discussing how the next phase of tokenisation will be defined by infrastructure maturity and institutional participation.

We also welcomed two new ecosystem partners this month.

A lot happened in April and most of it validated what we have been saying since the beginning: the demand for structured onchain infrastructure is real.

Institutional participation in tokenisation is growing. Asset managers, private credit issuers, and fixed income participants are actively deploying onchain infrastructure across structured financial products.

Yet the majority of tokenisation implementations in market today remain narrowly scoped. The focus has been on issuance, creating an onchain representation of a financial instrument. The operational layer that follows issuance, entitlement tracking, transfers, servicing, redemptions, and policy enforcement continues to run through fragmented, manual processes outside the onchain environment.

An onchain representation of an asset is not the same as onchain infrastructure for operating it. For structured financial products, the distinction is significant. Lifecycle operations are not peripheral to how these instruments function they are central to it.

Addressing issuance alone does not resolve the operational complexity of institutional financial products. It relocates their point of origin while leaving the underlying infrastructure largely unchanged.

BTOS is built to address the full scope of that problem.

What Is BTOS?

BTOS, the Byzanlink Tokenisation Operating System, is an end-to-end infrastructure platform for structured financial products.

It is the system that manages the complete operational lifecycle of a structured financial instrument onchain, from issuance through to policy enforcement with the institutional-grade correctness that regulated markets require.

BTOS is designed for institutional issuers, fund managers, asset administrators, and fintech platforms that need more than an onchain representation of their products. They need infrastructure that reflects how those products actually operate.

BTOS Architecture

BTOS is built as a modular architecture across three layers. Each layer addresses a distinct function, and each can be adopted independently as operational and jurisdictional readiness evolves.

Layer 1: Tokenisation Infrastructure

The foundation of BTOS. This is where structured financial products are represented and operated onchain.

Layer 1 handles the complete lifecycle: issuance, entitlement tracking, transfers, servicing, redemptions, and policy enforcement. It functions as the onchain source of truth for the instrument, asset-agnostic, and decoupled from assumptions about liquidity or distribution.

Every lifecycle action runs through deterministic, enforceable logic. Policy and restrictions follow the product across every interaction, not managed externally through manual processes.

Layer 2: Onchain Compatibility

The interoperability layer. Once a product is issued and operating through Layer 1, Layer 2 enables controlled integration with onchain environments.

This includes vault frameworks, wrapper structures, yield routing, and collateral compatibility. Layer 2 is optional and issuer-activated. It does not assume open access or specific liquidity models. Issuers decide if, when, and where their products connect to onchain rails and retain full control over how that compatibility operates.

Layer 3: Distribution and Access

The access layer. Layer 3 defines how structured products are made available to participants, eligibility criteria, onboarding requirements, access controls, and integration with existing institutional workflows.

Distribution in BTOS is not open by default. Access models are defined by the issuer and aligned with their operational requirements and jurisdictional constraints. The same product can support multiple distribution models without altering its underlying structure.

What This Enables

The modular design of BTOS reflects a core principle: institutions should be able to tokenise first, and progressively activate interoperability and distribution as their market structure and operational readiness evolves.

This means issuers are not required to commit to a specific liquidity model or distribution approach at the point of issuance. They can bring a product onchain, operate its full lifecycle through Layer 1, and activate Layers 2 and 3 when appropriate.

Several structural advantages follow from this approach.

Full lifecycle management: Every operational function, issuance to redemption, runs within a single system with a unified source of truth for the asset. Manual reconciliation between fragmented systems is eliminated.

Compliance by architecture: Eligibility rules, transfer restrictions, and governance constraints are encoded as enforceable onchain logic. They are not features applied on top of the infrastructure, they are part of the infrastructure itself.

Standardised integration: Consistent interfaces and standardised vault primitives allow products to connect to new platforms and channels without rebuilding infrastructure for each integration. Each new connection becomes a persistent access point rather than a bespoke project.

Issuer control at every layer: From how the product is structured and operated, to how it connects to onchain environments, to who can access and distribute it, control remains with the issuer throughout.

Q1 2026 was a defining quarter for Byzanlink.

Byzanlink RWA Markets launched on Hedera

In Q1, Byzanlink launched RWA Markets on the Hedera network, a non-custodial vault platform for tokenised real-world asset strategies.

The launch introduced:

• Standardised vault frameworks compatible with ERC-4626 and ERC-7540

• Support for both synchronous and asynchronous, request-based settlement

• Configurable deposit and redemption mechanics designed for structured asset workflows

RWA Markets was also comprehensively audited by Sherlock, reinforcing our focus on secure, settlement-aware infrastructure designed for real institutional use cases.

This marked an important step in bringing structured real-world asset strategies into programmable onchain environments.

We also launched the Credible Finance PayFi Vault on Byzanlink RWA Markets as the first live RWA strategy on the platform.

Within two weeks, the vault surpassed $1 million in TVL, demonstrating early market demand for structured real-world yield strategies delivered through onchain vault infrastructure.

The strategy provides onchain exposure to short-duration payment financing, showing how real-world cash flow strategies can operate within a settlement-aware, programmable structure.

2. Ecosystem expansion through strategic partnerships

Q1 was also a strong quarter for ecosystem expansion.

We added strategic partnerships across infrastructure, distribution, interoperability, and real-world asset access, strengthening the broader environment in which Byzanlink products can operate and scale.

With Real Finance ,we are exploring institutional-grade RWA infrastructure across issuance, lifecycle management, and execution environments, while preserving issuer flexibility and operational control.

HPX

Our collaboration with HPX is focused on expanding access for tokenised real-world assets by combining broader distribution potential with institution-ready infrastructure and scalable onchain financial applications.

Across the quarter, we also expanded the Byzanlink ecosystem through partnerships with HavenAI, Snowball Money , and Conflux Network , helping strengthen the utility, connectivity, and reach of structured assets onchain.

These partnerships represent the ecosystem layers needed to make tokenised structured products more usable, more connected, and more scalable over time.

3. Growing product engagement and user activity

Q1 was not only about launches. It was also about early usage.

As part of our broader product expansion, the Byzanlink Blue Chip Yield Vault testnet began attracting strong early participation.

To date, the testnet has brought in more than 20,000 new users and generated over 100,000 transactions, giving us a valuable early signal on user demand, product interaction, and system activity.

This kind of engagement matters. It shows that interest is building not only around tokenised assets themselves, but around the infrastructure layer that makes structured strategies usable onchain.

4. Global presence and community growth

Byzanlink participated in Consensus Hong Kong 2026 and other key ecosystem events during the quarter, helping deepen institutional relationships and expand our presence across the global tokenisation landscape.

These are testnet tokens used only for simulation.

4. Deposit into the Vault

Click on Mint and Deposit testnet USDC.
