🗺️ Impact by the Numbers: Global Mapping Milestones

Our global youth network has reached extraordinary new milestones in closing critical public health data gaps:

• 🏢 5,326 Buildings Mapped: Making thousands of homes, schools, clinics, and community facilities visible for public health planning. To put that into perspective, 5,326 structures is enough to map every single building across an entire city district!

• 🛣️ 182.7 km of Roads Documented: We’ve mapped 182.7 km of roads–enough to circle the entire island of Manhattan nearly four times! These paths give emergency responders the intelligence needed to deliver relief directly to remote populations.

Did you know? According to a 2026 outbreak report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the ongoing orthoebolavirus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda presents unique challenges since it is driven by the Bundibugyo virus strain–a virus for which no vaccines or targeted medications are currently available. Because traditional pharmaceutical interventions are limited, slowing Ebola’s spread relies on rapid epidemiological mapping, isolation, and other logistics.

✨Mentorship Program Changes: New Office Hours Schedule (Monthly)

As the pilot phase of our Mentorship Program concludes, we have adjusted how the CareForAll community connects with professionals to optimize members’ experience.

Did you know? On May 16, 2026, the World Health Organization officially declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The WHO emphasized that this is a regional emergency, not a global pandemic. Because the outbreak is happening in a complex humanitarian crisis zone and involves a specific virus strain with no current vaccine, traditional medical teams cannot handle the response alone.

Instead, stopping the virus relies heavily on local community engagement. Public health leaders stressed that tracking the virus requires local trust, community-led data collection, and understanding the hidden trade and mining routes where highly mobile populations travel.

Behind the Scenes: Our Co-Founder and Executive Director, Olivia Greenaway, is currently leading our expansion into the Caribbean: “I’ve been working to expand CareForAll’s reach throughout the Caribbean region, specifically a British colony island called Montserrat which is grappling with the aftermath of a series of volcanic eruptions. On the island which carries a population of only 4,000 people, around 70% of the adult population deals with diabetes and hypertension—a concern I hope to help address with the assistance of a grassroots youth group called New Legacy Montserrat.”

Program Spotlight: The Mentorship Program

As of Monday, March 30th, 2026, our Mentorship Program office hours have officially begun!

• All Members: You are invited to drop into our bi-monthly Office Hours, available on Mondays and Thursdays, to receive tailored guidance from an available mentor.

• Chapter Leads: Please remember that you are also required to attend mandatory Quarterly Check-Ins (date TBD) hosted by our executive team.

Did you know? According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Small Island Developing States face highly unique public health challenges. Environmental vulnerabilities, such as the volcanic eruptions in Montserrat, frequently disrupt essential medical infrastructure. For populations that already experience disproportionately high rates of non-communicable diseases, like diabetes and hypertension, these natural disasters violently compound existing health crises. This reality makes grassroots health interventions and resilient community preparedness critical for long-term survival.

🎉New Program Alert | CareForAll’s Mentorship Program: To further support our members’ activities and professional development, we are excited to announce the official launch of our Mentorship Program, with office hours starting Monday, March 30th, 2026!

• CareForAll’s Mentorship Program connects members with graduate students and working professionals with health-related experience, providing guidance on Student-Led Project execution through regular office hours held every other week

• ALL MEMBERS are welcome to drop in during bi-monthly Office Hours on Mondays and Thursdays to receive guidance from an available mentor.

• CHAPTER LEADS must attend mandatory Quarterly Check-Ins, 1-hour mentorship sessions hosted every three months by our executive team.

The Health Pulse:

Did you know? Geospatial mapping is a premier tool for advancing public health! It is vital for visualizing disease outbreaks, identifying vulnerable populations, and optimizing the allocation of medical resources.

Want to get involved? CareForAll’s Mapping Program utilizes Humanitarian OpenStreetMap to bridge critical data gaps. By mapping undocumented roads and health facilities, our members provide the geographic intelligence responders need to deliver equitable relief to communities missing from traditional maps.

Over the past few months we’ve been focused on building the foundation of CareForAll. This meant clarifying our structure, developing project toolkits, and setting up the systems needed to support meaningful student-led work.

We’re excited to share that this core programming infrastructure is now in place.

Members Can Now:

• Start their own chapter or connect with a chapter representing your school or community

• Lead, design, and/or support an individual or chapter project(s) to promote local wellbeing using our project toolkits

• Access health-related leadership and educational resources

• Create and promote CFA-related healthcare content on social media platforms via #CareForAll.

• Participate in activities, events, and professional development opportunities organized by CareForAll.

• Receive awards recognizing their work and be eligible for letters of recommendation
