this song is really all about my love of LA. The city is surrounded by the old Hollywood mystique. Any day of the week I can sit in Frank Sinatra’s booth at Musso’s, or sip a Martini in the lobby of the Chateau right where Led Zep rode their motorcycles. I don’t know it doesn’t seem like ppl here talk about this enough … what do you think of the song? what do you like or dislike? curious.. we’re writing a lot of songs on acoustic guitar right now in first position. We had this realization that we hadn’t wrote a single song in first position, with open chords. We’re still in that headspace. Fun fact, this was the first song we’ve ever recorded with a capo on the guitar.

After thinking about it for a long while, we’ve decided to start a Substack.

We’ve been hearing about Substack for close to a year now—doing our due diligence, scrolling around, even jumping into a few hot takes. And honestly, it just feels right. We always knew we’d eventually create a band account, but we wanted to make sure we could commit to it long-term before diving in.

What excites us most is the chance to create a space where we can share more of Cayucas—stories, behind-the-scenes moments, creative ideas… all of it. It reminds us of blogging back in the day, when you posted with intention.

Our main focus will be all things Cayucas, but we’ll probably branch out into other interests too—because, why not?
