Do I like how my singing voice sounds in this video? No. (But the way I sound in those moments is enough. After all, I’m not trying to win a Grammy.😃

Do I like the way my eyes flit to the side as I read the words? No! (Oh, well).

Did I consider redoing this video? Yes. (But I had tried singing it three other times and there were imperfections each time; I wrote the song, “I Am Enough,” but honestly, it’s a difficult song to sing

Do I like the way my hair came out in this video? (Ouch. No. Way too frizzy. But … “I Am Enough”). And so are you

Did I convince myself that it is okay to be vulnerable and live the words, “I Am Enough in front of you?” (You bet).

As Shakespeare said, “Risk being the fool.”

The messages that came through me are there for you from my heart, my struggles, and my wise knowing, and to be candid, I didn’t want a perfect version … even if it could have happened magically.

I wanted to show you the way to “I Am Enough.”

Singing in front of people is a vulnerable feeling. Raw. Real.

But I’m willing to do it because the messages that came through me from a higher place are worth saying them to you in spoken word

By sharing this song, I am inviting you to give your own perfectly IMperfect self more love, acceptance, confidence, compassion, and forgiveness.

Yes, it’s always beneficial to grow, become, and blossom, but it’s equally important to validate how far you have come AND how amazing you are right now.

Singing and humming are scientifically-proven tools for calming our nervous system, and because of this data, today’s podcast features a well-known song that is sung by out of tune and in tune singers around the world.

Yes, this song is even for out of tune singers, so please join me. In the healing power of sound making, there is no such thing as right or wrong notes.

All that matters is your positive intention and your personal internal vibration.

So, sing along for your mental health and sing along to absorb an inner attitude of gratitude and hope.

Uplift your spirit so you can feel more of your glowing light. And spread your new light to others, too.

Besides, “This Little Light of Mine” is a perfect song for my Substack, “A Light Between the Cracks,” isn’t it!

Hum, sing, use sounds like “La,” “Ahh, “ or “Ooo” instead of the lyrics, or just try to whistle this wonderfully catchy tune.

At the very least and most, you might find yourself laughing out loud.

Most of all, don’t let your inner critic take over. There is no pressure to sound good or to make the tune or lyrics right.

Look around you and find at least five things that give you a good feeling.

Maybe your WOW is in certain colors you enjoy, the sight of the hummingbirds or butterflies, the sound of the river, the sunset, or the smell of pine needles.

Your personal list is endless and it’s important and mentally healthy to look for the WOW’S in your life - especially now.

Breathe the wow’s in. Notice. 💓The wow’s will be and are medicine to your soul.💓

Join me in the short chorus of my song, “Wow!” — (and no - you don’t have to be an in tune singer to sing). Sing loud and proud as you look around and breathe in each and every “WOW!”

Notice all the good things around you and inside you despite all the scary news headlines.

No matter how different we are, we all crave the same things: To be safe, to be loved, to experience more inner peace, to be happy, to be healthy, to have our primary emotional, spiritual, and physical needs met, to be seen, to be heard, to matter, to connect, and to feel less stress.

Through the subtle power of what I call “positive thought transference,” saying power words like these will help you feel as if you are “doing” something positive for yourself, for others, and for the world. At least that’s how it makes me feel.

In the spirit of shifting from inside-out and sending “good vibes” out there in the world, please join me by also saying this 2500 year old message.

📝The theme of this week’s message is valuable to those of you who like to release your feelings by writing them out, as well as to those of you who don’t like to write much at all.

I know that sounds contradictory, but from first-hand experience I find that when you don’t need to think about spelling, punctuation, and grammar, writing can be an enjoyable healing tool that releases pent-up feelings - feelings that will make you sick if you don’t get them out of you in some healthy way. It can also help you remember the good times, too.

The “how to” is in this video.

I find that it’s one of the best ways to get the bad stuff out you because it involves the brain/mental, emotions/heart, body/physical, and spirit/ … and leads you towards more moments of inner peace.

You could journal pen to paper the “ old-fashion” way, or you could use your laptop. It’s healing either way, and I do both.

After a dose of stream of consciousness writing, I feel lighter and clearer, and I want that for you, too.

I’ve created affirmations that don’t ask us to pretend that everything is just “fine.” I call my healing tool, Shadow & Light Affirmations.

I don’t bypass what’s real and what hurts. I don’t bypass what heals, either.

My words don’t ignore grief, anger, confusion, or the heaviness of what’s happening in the world. All the disturbing elements are still here, while at the same time, the words also invite us to rise beyond all the dark distractions.
