Because our government and our Congress is needlessly an endlessly bureaucratic, it seems that regular people don’t really understand what this Rule IX actually is. Or how it works. Or why it is so important.

First off, I suppose it is best that we read Rule IX - Questions of Privilege, so that we can understand what these hopped up antifa people are actually asking for:

Why Impeach? Why now?

Impeachment matters because the fascists are terribly fearful of it. Every time people in the media spotlight start talking about asking a Representative to file Articles of Impeachment via Rule IX, the pundits will try to shift gears. “Well, why file Articles of Impeachment now? They cannot convict! They don’t have the votes!” Or “we should be working on uniting for the midterms!” Every single time discussion of impeachment begins, the fascists blanch and try to pivot.

On December 11, 2025, 140 Members of Congress voted to advance Representative Al Green’s Articles of Impeachment focused on Trump’s threatening rhetoric. The votes in support of impeachment increased by 77%1. Every time articles of impeachment go to the floor, several things happen:

• Congress members reconsider the oath of office that they have taken, and their obligations to defend the US Constitution.

• Congress members who are “establishment” critters further question the establishment, and consider what a vote for or against impeachment of a truly unpopular president will do for their political careers.

• The media covers impeachment, and all of the talking heads talk about it. Because that is the news of the day. And this generates a national conversation.

• New polling is ordered up to measure the American public’s support of impeachment.

• Support for impeachment INCREASES.

And every time these things happen — we learn more that there is a growing sentiment that America is sick of the Tyrant Trump. The fascists do not want any of these things to happen. Showing the American people that WE DO HOLD POWER is threatening to the fascists. So they will keep downplaying it, they will keep mentioning “better to wait until you have the votes,” because they do not want the national conversation to come back to taking them out of power.

Even if Articles of Impeachment are voted down, the mere mention of impeachment on the US House floor is a reminder to the entire planet that WE THE PEOPLE are the ones in charge of the US government. And again — that is something that the fascists desperately do not want.

Why Articles of Impeachment via Rule IX?

ANY US House Member can file Articles of Impeachment using the privilege procedure Rule IX. Your Representative. My Representative. Al Green. Hank Johnson. Any Member! What Rule IX provides is an on ramp to the House floor, which is currently controlled and ruled by fascist Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. Rule IX forces a filed resolution to the floor within two days. Mike Johnson cannot stop it. Hakeem Jeffries cannot stop it. Jamie Raskin cannot stop it (even though he has managed to talk other House Members out of filing Articles of Impeachment via Rule IX).

And if the fascists fear impeachment in the national conversation — why would ANYONE who opposes fascism NOT want Articles of Impeachment filed every day via Rule IX?

One House Member could file Articles of Impeachment via Rule IX for attacking Venezuela. Another House Member could file Articles of Impeachment via Rule IX for the illegal war with Iran (which, is actually treason, but that’s a whole ‘nother article). Another House Member could file Articles of Impeachment via Rule IX for trying to remove four of the fallen service members off of the casualty/fatality list. Another House Member could file Articles of Impeachment for leading a paramilitary group that is violating immigrant and US Citizen rights. There are so many high crimes and misdemeanors to choose from!

If our Congress actually got their collective shit together… they could have Articles of Impeachment on the floor of the US House for the next several months. And I cannot imagine a BETTER way to fulfil their oath of office to defend the US Constitution.

How can I tell my Representative to file Articles of Impeachment via Rule IX?

Easy! You can call your Representative! 202-224-3121! Operators are standing by! The friendly switchboard operators will help you determine you Representative and connect you to their office if you don’t know who your Representative is.

They weren’t. But hey, prior to 8/8/2026, we could all at least pretend that the little girls were safe. But the façade is entirely off now that the US Congress has confirmed acting-US Attorney General to the position of US SEX-FILES CZAR at the Department of “Justice.” Those little girls are NOT SAFE. The final vote was 50-49 to confirm Blah Blah Blanche. I’m not a journalist, and honestly I am entirely too angry to look up who voted for, and who voted against. News articles I’ve skimmed show that Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski voted against the confirmation. I am sure that they both had “grave concerns.” But every other Republican voted to make sure that the Epstein Files say locked up.

What can you do? You can call Congress, and congratulate them on confirming their new Sex-File Czar. You can DuckDuckGo and Google “US Sex-Files Czar” in a pitiful campaign (by me) to help make the new title stick. Because that is who he is. That is his job. To protect Donald Trump, and all of his other pedophile and rapist friends, from ever facing accountability. A job he’s been doing very loyally since April 2023.

Anyway, during this blow up, some Substack creators blocked me. As they are 100% within their right to do. I will admit that I usually have some pretty serious FOMO, and that when people do decide to mute or silence me… it hurts. As a response to being blocked by Jason Odell, I retreated back to a place where I decided I was going to lay everything out on the table. State my case plainly. And apologize in the places where I was wrong. I made up my mind that I was going to register a backup Chris Resists account, and deliver this apology via DMs. But, that was a lot of deliberate effort. And frankly, maybe I was better without him in my feed. Not sure. I got distracted from the task, not wanting to deliver this missive while the Odells were on holiday.

But then — something I didn’t expect happened. Jason Odell emailed me. It wasn’t directly and intentionally mailed to me… but a part of the marketing for his photography business.

The marketing email reminded me that I had this whole thing that I was going to deliver to Jason. And I had let slip my mind. Because squirrel. And because fascism, and bigger fish to fry. But the email from Jason brought me back to thinking about our exchanges again. And reminded me that “Hey, someone blocked you. And it still smarts.”

So — I sent along my letter to Jason in a reply. I considered it for a minute first. Would he see it? Would he care? Would he read it? Would he get fired up that he had forgotten to remove my address from his marketing list, and go and block and remove me?

I decided to “reply-to,” since replying to the email address for his business appeared to be viable.

He never answered the email. And after going back, and re-reading my letter to him… I kept being just a little bit proud of my effort to try to mend fences. Moreso my intent to understand the Gaza/Israel issue, and my position on it. Here is the now-open-letter that I sent to him:

I would like to try and clear the air. And make amends. If you will allow it. I hope that you will hear me out.

A friend alerted me to your message above. I would like for you to understand why I was tagging you in the posts and restacks I performed.

First off, I respectfully object to being called anti-Semitic. I am not. Hopefully I will be able to properly convey that to you.

Semitic languages are Arabic, Amharic, Tigrinya, Aramaic, Hebrew, Maltese, and others. There is a substantial case to be made that Palestinians are “Semitic.”

Still, I understand that the coining and common use of Semites was indeed a reference exclusively to the Jewish people. I have recently read about that and have learned that.

The actual definitions, and then the “usage truth” of the word fractures. Just as the definition and “truth” of the word Zionism fractures. I have observed that modern Zionism means something a lot more awful now days — primarily because it has been co-opted by white Christian nationalists. Where it once was originally coined or defined as a political movement that contended that Jewish people have a right to exist, and have a right to sovereign land.

I believe that Jewish people have a right to exist. Just as equally as I believe that the Palestinian people have a right to exist. I believe that the Jewish people have a right to their own sovereign land — regardless of whether or not it was a poor decision to uproot people in the process of framing that land.

I digress.

I tagged you in several posts that I specifically wanted Lev Parnas to see. He blocked me when I started inquiring about his GoFundMe, his questionable campaign finance practices, and his Zionism. I had asked you and Dean Blundell to pass the stacks along to Lev. Dean did a live with Lev, and I presumed that by that connection - Dean and Lev were close. I made that same presumption about you. You seemed to “take up” for Lev pretty solidly. But I realize I was still making a presumption. And if my presumption was wrong, or not correct -- I am sorry.

At the time of tagging you, I did not realize that you were Jewish. I understand now how you might have felt that I was just coming after a handful of Jewish people regarding the genocide in Gaza. That was not my intent. My intent was to pressure Lev into answering questions about his Zionism, and to try to evaluate his position on the genocide. From everything I have observed so far -- he does not seem to be too concerned about the Palestinians that are being starved, abused, raped, and wiped out.

IDF has done, and continues to do some really horrendous things. And the crimes that are taking place cannot be diminished to only the doings and orders of Netanyahu. In my perspective, this is made CONSIDERABLY WORSE due to the required military service for Israelis. That means that every day Israelis are either performing these horrors, or are standing by and witnessing these horrors. And are saying nothing. And are not restraining their peers.

If you, or Jess, do not see how that is seriously problematic for Israel (not just Netanyahu and/or his top brass), I am not really sure how I can further explain that.

I am not anti-Semitic, nor am I anti-Jew. Just as equally, I am not anti-Palestinian. I _AM_ anti-violence. But I will use violence to defend myself and those that I know and love.

I am DEEPLY appalled and worried that so many would just blank check themselves into Lev Parnas’ orbit. If he was “the guy” for an influence campaign before — how can anyone be sure that he’s not just running another influence campaign for the other side? I am not anti-Lev because he is Jewish. I am anti-Lev because he is a convicted felon who committed fraud (lying). And I don’t easily give trust to confirmed liars.

I again insist with respect to Lev: 1) People either know that he is grifting again, and are calling it out, 2) people are falling for his ruse, and are under his charm, or 3) people are in on the grift WITH HIM. Logically, those are the only possible options. I suppose it is possible that Lev is on the up and up. But considering how he is still connected with the White House, I find that to be incredibly unlikely.

I don’t accuse you, or Jess, or Shalah, or Lev for the harms that are being actively perpetrated against Palestinians. However - I question ANYONE who is still managing to publicly support and cheer for Israel with all that is taking place right now. Equally, I am also not cheering for the United States. We are horrible right now. And unworthy of anyone being “pro-US” right now.

Pledging unwavering support for Israel looks a lot like support for what IDF is doing, looks a lot like support of Israel decimating Gaza, and looks a lot like approving of Israel’s current campaign against Lebanon.

At the same time ... I can be anti-Israel, and still believe that Israel and Israelis (and Jewish people) have a right to exist. I just must stand against what Israel is doing right now. Just as I must stand against what the US is doing right now. I hope that you can see that. I hope that you can see the pain I share with the Palestinians who have been abused, just as I share the pain with the Israelis who have been abused by Hamas.

I believe that we had a very serious misunderstanding that ended up escalating. I am sorry for the misunderstanding, and for the escalation.

I will not apologize for being angry about the murder of Palestinians. Nor will I apologize for being angry about the murder of Israelis.

If I have to support a genocide of Palestine to be considered “not anti-Semitic”, then I guess I’m just anti-Semitic. I will never support genocide. I will never support the actions of one sovereign invading another sovereign. I will never tolerate hate and needless violence.

Being upstanding means admitting when you are wrong. Being upstanding means apologizing, and working to make amends for when we do harm. This is my part. I am not perfect. But when I wrong, I do take every effort to make corrections. And hopefully, even if Jason and the Odell’s aren’t willing to accept my apology, others will read here and understand my position on the matter of Gaza and Israel.

What has taken place in Gaza, and what continues to take place in the region, is a god damned GENOCIDE.
