The United States is simultaneously one of the most religious and most theologically illiterate societies in the developed world. Americans profess belief in God at rates far higher than their European counterparts, yet surveys consistently show that large numbers of self-identified Christians cannot articulate basic doctrinal differences between their own tradition and others.

Catholics attend Protestant-style Bible studies. Protestants pray the Rosary. Both use the language of “being saved,” “having a personal relationship with Jesus,” and “accepting Christ into my heart” — phrases that would have been theologically incoherent to Catholics of earlier centuries and that many Protestants would not have recognized either.

Meanwhile, a growing number of Americans describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious,” “none,” or atheist, yet they often retain the moral grammar, work ethic, and psychological habits of the very traditions they have abandoned.

Why is this theological mixing so common? Why do Americans not know the difference between Catholicism and Protestantism? And why does this confusion persist even among those who have become atheists?

The answer lies in the unique history of American religious settlement, the structural pressures of a democratic culture, the erosion of institutional authority, and the peculiar way that Protestantism itself — the dominant religious force in American history — destroyed the conditions for its own doctrinal preservation.

I. The Historical Roots: A Protestant Nation with a Catholic Presence

A. The Protestant Foundation

America was founded, in its dominant cultural forms, as a Protestant nation. The Puritans of New England, the Quakers of Pennsylvania, the Anglicans of Virginia, the Presbyterians of the Carolinas, the Baptists and Methodists of the frontier — all were products of the Protestant Reformation. The theological grammar of American public life — covenant, calling, conscience, election, jeremiad, revival — was Protestant grammar. The very idea of America as a “city upon a hill” was a Puritan Calvinist vision.

This means that even American Catholicism, when it arrived in significant numbers through Irish, Italian, Polish, and Latino immigration, was shaped by the surrounding Protestant culture. Catholic parishes in America adopted congregational structures, lay participation, English-language hymns, and a certain democratic ethos that would have been foreign to medieval or even continental European Catholicism. American Catholicism, in other words, was Protestantized from the beginning.

B. The Catholic Minority Experience

For much of American history, Catholics were a suspect minority. They were seen as agents of a foreign power, loyal to the Pope rather than the Constitution. Anti-Catholic prejudice was widespread, and Catholics responded by trying to prove their American-ness. One way to do this was to adopt the vocabulary and habits of the dominant Protestant culture. American Catholics began to speak of “faith,” “being saved,” and “personal conversion” in ways that blurred the distinctiveness of Catholic sacramental theology.

The result was a cultural flattening. The theological differences between Catholicism and Protestantism remained, but they were increasingly invisible to ordinary believers. Both groups lived in the same neighborhoods, watched the same television, attended the same schools, and absorbed the same cultural assumptions. The sharp doctrinal lines that had once defined the Reformation controversies — justification by faith alone, the nature of the Eucharist, the role of the saints, the authority of the Pope — faded from everyday consciousness.

II. The Structural Pressures of Democracy and Pluralism

A. The Marketplace of Religions

The United States, unlike most European nations, never had an established church. The First Amendment prohibited state support for any particular denomination. The result was what historians call the religious marketplace: churches competed for members in a free market of belief.

This marketplace created enormous pressure to soften doctrinal edges. A church that insisted too strongly on its distinctive teachings risked alienating potential converts. The successful churches were those that offered a generic, accessible, emotionally satisfying message that could appeal to anyone regardless of theological background. Mega-churches, revival movements, and televangelism all tended toward a lowest-common-denominator Christianity that minimized the differences between traditions.

B. The Rise of Nondenominational Christianity

The twentieth century saw the explosive growth of nondenominational and evangelical churches that explicitly rejected denominational labels. These churches drew members from Catholic, mainline Protestant, and unchurched backgrounds and taught a simplified, revivalistic Christianity centered on personal conversion, Bible reading, and moral living.

In this environment, doctrinal specificity was a liability. The preacher who insisted on transubstantiation or predestination would lose his audience. The preacher who spoke of “a personal relationship with Jesus” and “living a life of purpose” would thrive. The result was a Christianity stripped of most of the theological content that had historically divided Catholics from Protestants.

C. The American Preference for Experience Over Doctrine

American religion has always been deeply experiential. From the Great Awakenings to the Pentecostal revival of the twentieth century to the contemporary worship music of today, Americans have valued the felt experience of God over the intellectual content of theology. The altar call, the revival meeting, the emotional testimony — these are the hallmarks of American religious life.

This preference for experience over doctrine naturally leads to theological mixing. If what matters is how you feel about God, then the distinctions between Catholic and Protestant theology are largely irrelevant. The Catholic who has a “born again” experience at a retreat and the Protestant who weeps during a praise song are having the same kind of experience, regardless of their differing views on the Eucharist or the Pope.

III. The Erosion of Institutional Authority

A. The Protestant Suspicion of Authority

Protestantism was born in rebellion against institutional authority. Luther defied the Pope. Calvin rejected the bishops. The Anabaptists rejected the state church. The radical Reformation rejected everything. The principle of private judgment — the right of every believer to interpret Scripture for themselves — was built into the Protestant DNA.

This principle, once unleashed, could not be contained. If every believer could interpret Scripture, then every believer could conclude that the church was wrong. If every believer could judge doctrine, then every believer could judge whether doctrine mattered at all. The Protestant suspicion of authority eventually produced the American suspicion of authority in general: the distrust of experts, the rejection of tradition, the insistence that each individual must decide for themselves.

This suspicion destroyed the very possibility of doctrinal preservation. A tradition can only maintain its distinctiveness if it has institutions — schools, seminaries, bishops, catechisms — that teach and enforce its doctrines. Protestantism, in its radical individualism, progressively weakened these institutions. The result was a Christianity that floated free of doctrinal anchor.

B. The Catholic Collapse of Authority

American Catholicism, meanwhile, was deeply affected by the Second Vatican Council and the cultural upheavals of the 1960s. The Council was intended to renew the Church, but it also created confusion. Many Catholics experienced the changes — the vernacular Mass, the relaxed fasting rules, the ecumenical outreach — as a loosening of the old certainties. The authority of the Church, once absolute, now seemed negotiable.

The sexual abuse crisis then delivered a devastating blow to Catholic institutional authority. Millions of Catholics concluded that if the bishops could not be trusted on matters of basic morality, they could not be trusted on matters of doctrine either. The result was a massive exodus from the Church and a further erosion of distinctive Catholic identity among those who remained.

C. The Rise of Religious Individualism

The combined effect of Protestant suspicion and Catholic collapse was the triumph of religious individualism. Americans increasingly saw religion not as a matter of institutional membership or doctrinal commitment but as a matter of personal choice, private belief, and individual spirituality.

The phrase “I’m spiritual but not religious“ captures this perfectly. The individual claims a direct connection to the divine without any need for church, creed, or sacrament. This is Protestantism taken to its logical extreme: the individual alone before God, with no mediators, no tradition, no institutional authority. But it is also a kind of secularized Catholicism: the individual still wants a sense of the sacred, still craves ritual and mystery, but no longer believes that the Church is the necessary channel.

IV. The Specific Mechanisms of Theological Mixing

A. Shared Vocabulary, Different Meanings

One of the most important reasons Americans do not know the difference between Catholicism and Protestantism is that the two traditions use the same words with different meanings.

Faith: For Protestants, faith is primarily trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross. For Catholics, faith is the beginning of a process of justification that involves cooperation with grace. Both use the word “faith,” but they mean different things.

Grace: Both traditions speak of grace, but Protestant grace is often understood as forensic — God declares the sinner righteous. Catholic grace is often understood as transformative — God makes the sinner righteous. The distinction is subtle but real.

Eucharist: Both traditions celebrate the Lord’s Supper, but Catholics believe in transubstantiation — the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ. Protestants have various views — symbolic, spiritual presence, consubstantiation — but most reject transubstantiation. Yet both use the language of “receiving Christ” and “communion.”

Salvation: Both traditions speak of salvation, but Catholics understand it as a process involving baptism, sacraments, and cooperation with grace, while Protestants understand it as a one-time event of justification by faith alone. Yet both use the language of “being saved.”

Because the vocabulary is shared, ordinary believers assume the meanings are shared too. They are not, but no one has taught them the difference.

B. The Influence of Popular Culture

American popular culture — movies, television, music, self-help books — has created a generic spirituality that blends elements of both traditions without understanding either.

The cross, the saint medal, the prayer candle, the yoga mat, the Zen garden, the Native American sweat lodge — all are mixed together in the American spiritual marketplace.

Oprah Winfrey, Joel Osteen, and a thousand motivational speakers offer a message that is part Protestant prosperity gospel, part Catholic mysticism, part New Age pantheism, and part secular self-help.

Christmas and Easter are celebrated by nearly all Americans, regardless of theological belief, as occasions for family, food, and gift-giving. The theological content — incarnation, atonement, resurrection — is largely forgotten.

This cultural blending has made it almost impossible for ordinary Americans to distinguish between Catholic and Protestant theology. The distinctive content of each tradition has been dissolved into a warm, vague, emotionally satisfying spiritual mush.

C. The Decline of Catechesis and Religious Education

Both Catholic and Protestant traditions have largely failed to transmit their distinctive doctrines to the next generation.

Catholic catechesis in the post-Vatican II era has often been weak, emphasizing experience and community over doctrine. Many Catholics raised since the 1960s cannot explain the difference between transubstantiation and consubstantiation, do not know the seven sacraments, and cannot articulate why they should go to confession.

Protestant Sunday schools have often focused on moral lessons and Bible stories rather than systematic theology. Many Protestants cannot explain justification by faith alone, do not understand the doctrine of predestination, and cannot articulate the difference between their own denomination and others.

The result is two generations of Americans who identify as Catholic or Protestant but cannot explain what either means.

V. The Atheist Inheritors of Theological Confusion

A. Atheism as the Logical End of Protestant Individualism

The path from Protestantism to atheism is well documented. The same principle of private judgment that allowed Luther to reject the Pope allowed Voltaire to reject the Church and Nietzsche to reject God. The Protestant emphasis on individual conscience eventually produced the Enlightenment emphasis on individual reason, which eventually produced the possibility of individuals concluding that no religion is true.

But American atheism often retains the moral grammar of the Protestant tradition it rejects. The atheist who grew up in a Protestant or culturally Protestant culture still carries:

The work ethic: diligence, productivity, self-discipline, the horror of idleness.

The moral seriousness: a sense that life is a matter of choices with eternal consequences, even if eternity no longer means heaven or hell.

The individual responsibility: the belief that each person must stand alone and answer for themselves.

The suspicion of authority: the instinct to distrust institutions and traditions.

The judgmental impulse: the tendency to judge oneself and others by high moral standards.

The anxiety about worthiness: the nagging feeling that one is never quite good enough.

This is Protestantism without God: the iron cage without the divine inhabitant. The atheist has rejected the theology but cannot escape the psychological and moral habits that the theology created.

B. Atheism and the Loss of Catholic Consolation

At the same time, American atheism often mourns the loss of Catholic consolation without knowing that it is mourning.

The atheist may feel:

A longing for ritual and beauty: the incense, the candles, the music, the sense of sacred space.

A desire for mediation and intercession: someone to help, someone to carry the burden, someone to stand between the self and the abyss.

A hunger for confession and absolution: a place to admit failure and receive mercy.

A hope for second chances: a purgatory, a gradual path of restoration, a way back from failure.

But because the atheist does not know the theological distinction between Catholic and Protestant approaches, they cannot name what they are longing for. They simply feel a vague, unarticulated sense of loss. They call it “nostalgia” or “aesthetic appreciation” or “spiritual but not religious.” They do not realize that what they miss is the very system of consolation that Protestantism stripped away.

C. The Atheist Who Is Still Protestant or Catholic

Many American atheists are, in fact, unconscious Catholics or Protestants. They have rejected the label but retained the substance.

The atheist who works 80 hours a week, feels guilty for resting, and believes that success is a sign of worth is still a Protestant.

The atheist who lights candles, practices meditation, and seeks mystical experience is still a Catholic.

The atheist who judges themselves harshly, feels perpetually inadequate, and cannot accept forgiveness is still a Protestant.

The atheist who longs for community, ritual, and a sense of the sacred is still a Catholic.

Because they do not know the difference between the two traditions, they cannot recognize which one is still shaping their lives. They simply experience the effects — the anxiety, the longing, the guilt, the hunger for meaning — without understanding the source.

VI. The Philosophical Significance of Theological Confusion

A. The Loss of a Coherent Moral Language

The mixing of Catholic and Protestant theologies has produced a culture without a coherent moral language. Americans use words like “sin,” “grace,” “forgiveness,” and “redemption” without knowing what they mean. The result is moral confusion.

Is forgiveness something that can be earned through penance, or is it a free gift received by faith?

Is sin a stain that requires purification, or a legal guilt that requires pardon?

Is salvation a process or an event?

Is the self fundamentally fallen or fundamentally good?

Americans cannot answer these questions because they have inherited fragments of both Catholic and Protestant answers without the framework that made each answer coherent. The result is a culture that oscillates between Catholic guilt and Protestant anxiety, between the longing for ritual and the suspicion of ritual, between the desire for authority and the rejection of authority.

B. The Atheist as the Logical Product of Confusion

The atheist who emerges from this confusion is not a clean break with religion. They are a symptom of the confusion itself. They have rejected a Christianity they never understood, inherited fragments of both Catholic and Protestant morality they cannot name, and now live in a condition of unarticulated longing and unexamined anxiety.

This is why so many American atheists are angry, not merely indifferent. They are not free from religion; they are haunted by it. They carry the Protestant work ethic without Protestant grace, the Catholic longing for consolation without Catholic ritual, the Protestant suspicion of authority without Protestant faith, the Catholic desire for community without Catholic sacraments.

They are, in short, the products of a culture that has mixed two incompatible theological systems into a paste that no one can digest. The mixing has produced confusion, the confusion has produced rejection, and the rejection has produced a generation of atheists who are still, deep down, unconscious Catholics and Protestants, still carrying the moral grammar of traditions they no longer believe in, still shaped by theologies they can no longer name.

VII. A Culture Adrift Between Two Theologies

The American inability to distinguish between Catholicism and Protestantism is not a minor theological problem. It is a symptom of a deeper cultural crisis.

The two traditions offer fundamentally different answers to the fundamental questions of human existence:

How do we stand before God? Catholicism: through mediators, sacraments, and the loving embrace of a maternal Church. Protestantism: alone, by faith, before an inscrutable God.

What happens when we fail? Catholicism: confess, do penance, be absolved, begin again. Protestantism: look inward for signs of election, and hope.

Is there a second chance? Catholicism: yes, purgatory offers purification and hope. Protestantism: no, death fixes eternal destiny forever.

Can the dead help the living? Catholicism: yes, the saints intercede and the living pray for the dead. Protestantism: no, there is no intercession and no prayer for the dead.

American culture has mixed these two systems into a vague, generic Christianity that offers neither Catholic consolation nor Protestant rigor. The result is a culture of anxious, isolated, exhausted individuals who feel guilty but do not know how to confess, who long for ritual but do not know how to receive it, who crave community but do not trust institutions.

The atheists who emerge from this culture are not free from it. They are its most visible symptom. They have rejected a religion they never understood, inherited a morality they cannot name, and now live in a condition of perpetual confusion, carrying the weight of two traditions they cannot distinguish and cannot escape.

America is not a Catholic nation or a Protestant nation. It is a nation caught between the two, unable to choose, unable to distinguish, and unable to free itself from the consequences of the confusion. The iron cage is real, and it is made of mixed theologies that no one can fully believe and no one can fully escape.

Europe believes it is at peace. It believes it is a concerned bystander, morally and materially supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression. In truth, Europe is already a belligerent—not against Russia alone, but against the United States. The war it is fighting is a proxy war between Washington and Moscow, conducted on Ukrainian soil, financed by European taxpayers, and fought just below the nuclear threshold. The majority of Europe’s population is completely oblivious to this reality, and in that obliviousness lies the greatest strategic danger of the twenty-first century.

I. Clausewitz and the Nature of the War

Carl von Clausewitz wrote:

“War is nothing but a continuation of political intercourse with an admixture of other means.”

By this definition, Europe is unquestionably at war. The means are not limited to conventional military operations. They include proxy forces, economic coercion, information warfare, sabotage, assassination, cyberattacks, and the deliberate weaponisation of refugees, energy, and inflation. The absence of a formal declaration of war is irrelevant. War, for Clausewitz, is not defined by legal formalities but by the pursuit of political objectives through organised violence and coercion.

The political objective of the United States in this war is not the conquest of Moscow. It is the strategic dismantling of Russia as an independent pole of power, the neutralisation of Russian influence in Europe and Eurasia, the fragmentation of the Russian Federation, and the permanent subordination of Europe to American strategic interests. These objectives can be achieved without a single American tank crossing the Vistula or the Dnieper. They require only that both Russia and Europe exhaust themselves in a war that Europe does not fully understand.

Russia, for its part, is not fighting Ukraine. Ukraine is the battlefield, not the enemy. Russia is fighting the United States through the body of Ukraine. Every Russian artillery barrage, every drone strike, every tactical advance is aimed not primarily at Kyiv but at the political will of Washington and the cohesion of NATO.

Russia understands the nature of the war. Europe does not.

II. The Philosophical Dimension: Arendt and the Manufactured Blindness

Hannah Arendt argued that power arises when people act together in concert. Violence can destroy power but cannot create it. Modern hegemonic systems do not always announce themselves with invasion. They work by dissolving the common world—the shared space of facts, trust, and institutions that makes collective political action possible.

The United States has applied this insight to Europe with extraordinary precision. Through its dominance of global media, its control of transnational institutions, its network of NGOs, its intelligence relationships, and its cultural hegemony, Washington has manufactured a European reality in which the war is framed as a simple morality play: Russia is the aggressor, Ukraine is the victim, and Europe is the noble helper.

This framing is not false in its particulars, but it is radically incomplete. It conceals the fact that the United States engineered the geopolitical conditions for this war, that it is using Ukraine as a proxy to bleed Russia, and that Europe is paying the strategic and economic price.

Arendt warned of the ideal subject of modern power:

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction and the distinction between true and false no longer exist.”

Europe’s population has been reduced to precisely this condition. It cannot distinguish between an accident and an attack, between a crime and an act of war, between a humanitarian intervention and a proxy operation. Was the Nord Stream pipeline explosion a Ukrainian operation, or an American act of economic warfare? Were the cyberattacks on European hospitals and energy grids the work of independent criminals or state-sponsored actors? The ambiguity is the weapon. When a population cannot name the enemy, it cannot mobilise against it.

III. The Military-Technical Reality: Attrition on an Industrial Scale

The war in Ukraine is not a regional conflict. It is an industrial-scale war of attrition between the United States and Russia, fought by Ukrainian soldiers who are dying in numbers that Europe refuses to contemplate. Reliable casualty figures are suppressed, obfuscated, and abstracted. But as the war grinds on, the butcher’s bill approaches a scale of two million killed in action and wounded—a figure that, if acknowledged, would shatter the carefully managed European perception of the war.

This is not accidental. The United States has deliberately chosen an attritional strategy. It has no intention of defeating Russia quickly or decisively, because a quick Russian collapse would eliminate the strategic rationale for NATO expansion, for the militarisation of Europe, and for the subordination of European foreign policy to Washington. The longer the war lasts, the more Russia is weakened, the more Europe is economically dependent on American energy and security guarantees, and the more the United States consolidates its hegemony.

Russia, by contrast, has been forced into a war of endurance. It is fighting not for territory but for strategic survival. Its objective is to outlast Western political will, to impose such enormous costs on Ukraine and its backers that Europe eventually fractures and forces a settlement on Russian terms. The Russian military has adapted to the attritional nature of the war: it has mobilised its industrial base, absorbed sanctions, reconfigured its logistics, and accepted casualties as the price of strategic patience. Russia is not winning in the classical sense of rapid battlefield victory, but it is not losing either. It is grinding forward, slowly, at enormous cost, while Europe’s will to continue erodes.

Clausewitz identified the center of gravity as the hub of all power and movement, on which everything depends. For Europe, the center of gravity is not military. It is political will—the will of populations to continue sacrificing their living standards, their energy security, and their young men for a war whose true nature they do not understand. The United States is attacking this center of gravity through information warfare. Russia is attacking it through relentless attrition of Ukrainian forces. Both powers are fighting for the soul of Europe, and Europe does not know it.

IV. Escalation Dominance and the Nuclear Threshold

Clausewitz distinguished between limited war and absolute war. Nuclear weapons impose an absolute limit: neither Washington nor Moscow wants a general nuclear exchange. But this does not mean the end of war; it means the war is fought below that threshold. The side that can operate most effectively just below the opponent’s escalation threshold gains decisive advantage.

The United States conducts a grinding proxy war in Ukraine, provides intelligence, training, targeting data, and increasingly advanced weapons systems, while maintaining the fiction that it is not a direct belligerent. This deniability prevents Russia from escalating in ways that would force a direct US–Russia confrontation.

Russia, for its part, has responded with its own form of sub-threshold warfare: nuclear signalling, cyberattacks, and sabotage operations in Europe. These operations are designed to impose costs on Europe without crossing the threshold that would trigger a direct NATO–Russia war. The result is a war that is real but invisible, deadly but deniable, total in its political ambitions but deliberately limited in its military means.

V. Why Europe Is Completely Oblivious

Europe is oblivious because it has been conditioned to be oblivious. Its political class has not told its citizens the truth because the truth would demand sacrifices. If European leaders openly declared that the continent is engaged in a proxy war between the United States and Russia, they would have to ask for higher defence spending, energy rationing, cyber conscription, and a mobilisation of public will. They would have to confront the fact that their own foreign policies are not their own. That is politically catastrophic.

So they prefer to manage the crisis technocratically, reassuring the public that there is no war, only “challenges,” “hybrid threats,” and “resilience building.” The language itself is a form of denial.

The United States has exploited this condition brilliantly. By keeping the war below the threshold of perception, it has ensured that Europe’s fragmented populations will not act as political communities. Europeans are isolated, confused, and distrustful of their own institutions. They cannot name the enemy, so they cannot oppose him. The war is being lost not on the battlefield but in the minds of the European public—precisely where the center of gravity lies.

Clausewitz’s most profound warning applies directly to Europe today:

“The first, the supreme, the most far-reaching act of judgment that the statesman and commander have to make is to establish… the kind of war on which they are embarking; neither mistaking it for, nor trying to turn it into, something that is alien to its nature.”

Europe has mistaken the kind of war it is in. It believes it is a moral supporter of a just cause. It is actually an unwitting belligerent in a great-power conflict, a battlefield for the ambitions of Washington, and a prize to be won by whichever power can first break Russian will, and as long as Europe remains blind to this reality, the war will continue to be fought on its soil, with its money, and at the cost of its future—without its population ever understanding why.

Equipped with a microphone, the “lurker drone” detected the sound of the approaching vehicle, sprang into the air, and struck. This was not an isolated incident. Russian forces have begun deploying acoustic-equipped drones as stationary sensors along key roads in the “grey zone,” using sound rather than sight to detect and ambush Ukrainian logistics convoys and troop movements.

This tactical innovation is just one facet of a broader revolution in acoustic sensing on the Ukrainian battlefield. What began as a wartime improvisation—smartphones bolted to six‑foot poles—has evolved into a sophisticated network of passive acoustic sensors that are reshaping how both sides detect, track, and engage targets.

The Core Concept: Passive Acoustic Detection

At its heart, acoustic detection is deceptively simple: it listens. Systems collect the sounds generated by drone motors, propellers, artillery fire, or vehicle engines, then analyse their unique acoustic signatures to identify and locate targets. The approach offers several critical advantages:

Passive and Covert. Unlike radar, acoustic sensors emit no signals. They cannot be detected, located, or jammed by enemy electronic warfare systems—a critical advantage in a battlespace saturated with jamming and signals intelligence.

Countering “Silent” Threats. Fibre‑optic FPV drones, which transmit control signals through thin optical cables rather than radio links, produce no radio frequency emissions and are invisible to traditional electronic warfare and signals intelligence systems. Acoustic sensors provide a completely different detection pathway: even if a drone uses no radio communications, its motor and propeller noise can still betray its presence.

Cost‑Effectiveness. Acoustic sensors are far cheaper than radar systems, making them suitable for mass deployment across vast territories.

Ukraine’s Acoustic Network: A Nation That Listens

Ukraine has emerged as the global pioneer in battlefield acoustic sensing, deploying multiple systems that operate at different scales and for different purposes.

Sky Fortress: The Grassroots Giant

The most extensive system is Sky Fortress, a network of approximately 14,000 acoustic sensors scattered across Ukraine. From smartphones on poles to AI‑powered sensors on reconnaissance drones, Ukraine has demonstrated that passive acoustics can fill the gaps where radar and electronic warfare fall short. As the technology matures and spreads, the “sound of war” will no longer be just a metaphor—it will be a primary intelligence stream, a targeting cue, and a vulnerability to be masked. The order came from Norfolk, Virginia, via satellite relay. Admiral Henk Brinkman of the Royal Netherlands Navy, commanding NATO’s Standing Maritime Group 1, read the flash traffic on his secure tablet.

The plan was simple in concept, if audacious in execution. For weeks, satellite imagery had shown a massive build-up of Russian naval infantry and Iskander short-range ballistic missiles in Kaliningrad.

Simultaneously, the Baltic Fleet in Kronstadt, outside Saint Petersburg, was preparing for its summer exercises. NATO intelligence, however, had detected an anomaly: the electronic signatures of the Admiral Gorshkov-class frigates were silent.

They weren’t sailing.

Instead, intelligence suggested Russia was planning to resupply the Kaliningrad exclave by sea, running the gauntlet of NATO surveillance right through the Baltic.

NATO wouldn’t allow it.

The order was to establish a blockade.

As the sun dipped below the horizon in the Baltic, the force was sailing East. At the spearpoint was the USS Donald Cook, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, and its AEGIS Combat System SPY-1D already painting the sky.

Flanking her were the Dutch frigate De Zeven Provinciën and the German Sachsen-class frigate FGS Hessen.

Ten thousand tons of NATO naval power, bristling with Standard Missiles, designed to create a no-go zone for any Russian surface combatant attempting to break out from Saint Petersburg or reinforce Kaliningrad. They took position 80 nautical miles off the Estonian coast, their radars a wall of energy facing East.

They were looking for ships.

They were not looking for what was about to hit them.

On the Admiral Gorshko, tucked into its berth at Baltiysk, the hatches over its 3S14 UKSK VLS cells blew off in rapid succession. Within seconds, four 3M22 Zircon missiles erupted from their tubes in a cascade of steam and orange flame. They climbed sharply on solid rocket boosters, punching through the inversion layer at Mach 4 before the scramjets kicked in with a throaty roar that shook the windows in Kaliningrad, twenty kilometers away.

The missiles vanished from the view of NATO surface radar, becoming ghostly blips that moved at over Mach 7—5,400 miles per hour—at altitudes exceeding 100,000 feet, pulling high-G zigzags not to avoid detection, but to defeat any possibility of a kinematic intercept.

At the same moment, over Belarus, six MiG-31Ks performed a shallow dive from 60,000 feet and released their payloads. The Standard Missile-3s were designed for ballistic defense in space; the SM-2s and evolved Sea Sparrows were for subsonic and supersonic threats, not targets moving faster than a rifle bullet at treetop height while executing random evasive maneuvers.

The Donald Cook launched chaff and activated its SLQ-32 electronic warfare suite. It was useless. The Zircon homes in on electronic emissions; the chaff was a cloud of aluminum confetti wafting gently in the wind compared to the missile’s closing velocity.

The missile penetrated the destroyer’s Kevlar armor like a hot needle through butter, passing through the portside, through the CIC, and out the starboard side before detonating. The ship was cut in half by the sheer force of the object passing through it, the bow and stern rising momentarily before the keel snapped with a sound like the world ending.

The second Zircon hit the HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën amidships, igniting her magazines. The Dutch frigate vanished in a globe of orange fire that lit the clouds from below, a thousand fragments of Dutch steel raining into the Baltic for miles around.

As the AEGIS network disintegrated into a cacophony of dying datalinks, the Kinzhal warheads rained down from above. They arrived at a 90-degree angle, travelling at speeds in excess of Mach 10—over 7,600 miles per hour. One struck the FGS Hessen directly on her helicopter deck, the force of the impact pulverizing the stern and sending a shockwave through the hull that snapped the keel like a dry twig.

The ship rolled and began to sink in under three minutes, her screws still turning as she plunged into the abyss.

But war is never perfect.

One of the six Kinzhals, released from its MiG-31K over Belarus, experienced a split-second glitch in its guidance data stream. The missile, travelling at the edge of the atmosphere, relied on a continuous flow of targeting updates from the Russian network to refine its terminal approach. For 0.3 seconds—an eternity at hypersonic speeds—that flow stuttered.

A relay satellite, overloaded by the sudden surge of data from the Baltic strike, dropped the packet. The Kinzhal’s onboard computer, expecting a final course correction, instead defaulted to its last valid: a set of coordinates that placed the USS Donald Cook approximately 200 meters south of its actual position.

The missile never wavered in its trajectory. It came screaming down from the blackness of space, its plasma sheath painting a burning scar across the night sky, but its aim was true to the flawed data. Instead of striking the Donald Cook’s bridge, it plunged into the Baltic Sea less than fifty meters off the destroyer’s starboard beam.

The impact was cataclysmic.

The Kinzhal, carrying a 500-kilogram warhead and travelling at over 7,600 miles per hour, hit the water with the force of a small earthquake. The sea did not simply splash; it detonated.

A column of water erupted skyward with terrifying violence, a white geyser of vaporized seawater and compressed air that rose higher than the Donald Cook’s mast, higher than her radar arrays—over 1,500 feet into the night sky.

For a terrifying moment, the destroyer was bracketed by a wall of water that blotted out the stars. The shockwave through the water hammered the hull, sending men on the deck tumbling—rattling every bulkhead on the ship. The geyser hung in the air for a long, frozen second before collapsing back into the sea in a thundering cascade that drenched the entire ship and left a swirling, steaming maelstrom where a killing blow should have landed.

On the bridge of the Donald Cook, men who had braced for death looked up to see water raining down instead of what was left of their boat. The CIC, still reeling from the Zircon impacts that had already mortally wounded the ship, registered the near-miss with a flicker of data before the systems went dark.

A faulty data stream, a single lost packet of information, had been the difference between a confirmed kill and a towering monument of seawater. But for the sailors of the Donald Cook, it was only a brief reprieve. The Zircons had already done their work, and the ship was dying around them. The geyser, a ghost of what might have been, was merely the last thing they saw before the boat disappeared into darkness.

Even as the first Kinzhal warheads began their terminal dive toward the surface group, the battle space had already expanded vertically. High above the clouds, the Combat Air Patrol—a mixed flight of RAF Eurofighter Typhoons and US Navy Super Hornets launched from the carrier Harry S. They never found the Backfires or the 31Ks.

The S-500 Prometheus batteries, concealed deep within the Kaliningrad Oblast near Gvardeysk, had been tracking them since they left their tanker tracks over Norway. The 91N6A(M) acquisition radar, a massive phased array capable of tracking basketball-sized objects at 500 kilometers, had designated each NATO fighter as a separate track file. The fire control solutions were calculated and uploaded to the launchers before the Typhoon pilots even finished their last weather calculations.

On board the lead Typhoon, callsign “FELON 01,” the pilot felt the first twinge of unease as his Radar Warning Receiver flickered. It wasn’t the frantic, pulsed scream of a targeting radar; it was a flat, steady tone unlike anything in the NATO database. It was the sound of a 77N6-N1 missile’s active seeker locking on from three hundred kilometers away.

“FELON 01, break right! Hard break!” he screamed, hauling back on the stick and dumping chaff.

It was too late.

The S-500 is not an evolution of the S-400; it is a paradigm shift. Designed to engage low-orbit satellites and incoming ICBMs, engaging a maneuvering fighter at 200 kilometers is, for the Prometheus, a short-range, low-altitude intercept. The missile arrived not with a whoosh, but with a sky-rending crack that propagated through the airframe faster than sound.

The first 77N6-N1, travelling at Mach 12, didn’t detonate its fragmentation warhead next to the Typhoon. Instead, it executed a proximity kill with kinetic effect. The sheer overpressure of its hypersonic passage, combined with the supersonic debris cloud of its own airframe shredding at the last microsecond, tore the Eurofighter’s right wing off at the root. The aircraft tumbled into the sea, a cartwheeling fireball that left a helical smoke trail against the stars.

The Super Hornets fared no better.

But the operation wasn’t over. The NATO fleet had supply ships, smaller frigates, and a lone Royal Danish Navy Iver Huitfeldt-class frigate further south, the HDMS Niels Juel, which had been shadowing the main force as a radar picket.

The Admiral Gorshkov, its position now revealed by its missile launches, came under immediate simulated attack from a flight of Danish F-16s scrambling from Ålborg. But the Gorshkov wasn’t fighting alone. From a Russian K-300P Bastion coastal defense battery near Cape Taran, another salvo of P-800 Oniks supersonic anti-ship missiles were launched. They were slower than the Zircons—Mach 2.5—, but they were just the anvil. The hammer had already struck.

The 31Ks, having loitered after their first launch over Belarus, descended to 30,000 feet and used their massive Zaslon-M radars to illuminate the remaining NATO ships with high-resolution track data. They didn’t need to fire again. The data was fed back to the Golovko via the Russian integrated fire control network.

The second Zircon salvo was smaller—only two missiles remaining in the Gorshkov’s cells—but it was enough. The Niels Juel, attempting to go to general quarters after witnessing the annihilation of the main force, was struck by a single hypersonic missile that decapitated the ship, obliterating the bridge and combat information center in one actinic flash. The Danish frigate continued forward under autopilot for another three minutes, a ghost ship with no command, before a secondary explosion in the engine room stopped her dead in the water.

The supply ships—the USNS Supply, the German Berlin, and a Dutch fast combat support ship—slow and unarmored, were dispatched by the Oniks missiles. The Oniks missiles struck them at the waterline, the 300-kilogram warheads gutting each vessel in succession.

Twelve minutes had passed since the first launch order. Four NATO warships and two auxiliaries were either on the bottom or burning to the waterline. Twenty-four aircraft—the entire CAP and a flight of Danish F-16s that had been too slow to engage—had been destroyed without ever seeing their attackers. Over 1500 sailors and airmen were dead or in the 4°C water, their survival time measured in minutes.

The S-500 batteries began their cool-down cycles, the launchers retracting into their camouflaged revetments. The Admiral Gorshkov went dark, its VLS cells empty but its mission complete. The MiG-31Ks touched down at Baranovichi, their pilots already writing their after-action reports in their heads.

The Russian Baltic Fleet had not sailed. It hadn’t needed to. The sea lanes to Kaliningrad were open, and the only thing left of the NATO blockade was an oil slick and a debris field slowly drifting toward the Estonian coast.

The only question that remained was a terrifying one: what happens next?

TEN HOURS LATER – THE THUNDER FROM THE EAST

The emergency session of the North Atlantic Council had been convened in a bunker. Not the gleaming headquarters in Brussels—that was a target too obvious, too predictable. Instead, the surviving political leadership of NATO’s European members and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) had gathered at the Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) in Northwood, London. Buried deep beneath the suburban sprawl of Hertfordshire, the complex was a city unto itself, hardened against all but a direct nuclear strike.

From this warren of reinforced concrete, fiber optics, and encrypted satellite links, the remnants of NATO’s command structure hoped to orchestrate a response. The Baltic Fleet was annihilated. Over fifteen hundred sailors were dead. The naval balance of power in Northern Europe had been erased in a single hour. Now, the generals and diplomats stared at screens showing the last telemetry from the Donald Cook—a sudden spike in speed, a bloom of heat, then nothing.

“This is an act of war,” the British Prime Minister said, his voice thin as it echoed through the secure video link. “We must invoke Article Five. We must respond.”

SACEUR, a United States Air Force General, nodded grimly. “We’re repositioning B-1s to RAF Fairford. We’re putting nuclear forces on a higher alert status. We need to show them we’re not bluffing.”

In Moscow, the intelligence was relayed within seconds. A Russian Krechet signals intelligence satellite, maneuvering in geostationary orbit, had detected the surge in encrypted communications flowing into Northwood. The specific frequency, the burst patterns, the sheer volume of data—it painted a picture. The wolf pack was gathering in its den.

President Vladimir Sorokin sat in the Situation Room of the Kremlin, his face illuminated by the glow of multiple tactical displays. Around him sat the Chief of the General Staff and the commanders of the Strategic Rocket Forces.

The mood was not triumphant; it was cold, analytical, and utterly resolved.

“They are preparing a response,” the Defense Minister stated. “Conventional strikes on Kaliningrad are probable within the next twelve hours. They will attempt to degrade our capabilities before a full escalation.”

Sorokin looked at the Chief of the General Staff. “The Oreshnik. Is it ready?”

“Yes, Mr. President. The regiment at Kapustin Yar has been at heightened readiness since the Baltic operation commenced. Targeting data has been loaded for the past three hours.”

The Oreshnik. The name itself was a whisper of nightmares.

The 9M730 Burevestnik had been the terror of the last decade, but the Oreshnik—the “Hazel Tree”—was something else entirely. It was an intermediate-range ballistic missile, but one that defied conventional classification. It was, in essence, a delivery system for a horror show.

Unlike a traditional ICBM carrying a single large warhead, or even a MIRVed system carrying multiple independent re-entry vehicles, the Oreshnik was designed to carry a massive payload of smaller, maneuverable hypersonic glide vehicles. Each missile could release dozens of these “branches,” MIRVs that are explosives capable of which can individual targets with pinpoint accuracy from the edge of space. It was a weapon designed to decapitate a nation’s command structure in a single, non-nuclear blow.

“Northwood,” Sorokin said quietly. “Remove the head, and the body dies. Make it clear to them. This is not a negotiation.”

07:15 ZULU – THE LAUNCH

At the Kapustin Yar launch site in southern Russia, a massive silo cover slid aside with a groan of hydraulics. Inside the subterranean launch control center, two officers turned their keys simultaneously. The new ER (Extended Range) Oreshnik, a modified RS-26 Rubezh IRBM, erupted from its silo. To the NATO early-warning satellites watching from geostationary orbit, it was a terrifyingly familiar signature—the heat plume of a Russian strategic rocket launch.

In the space of ninety seconds, the alert went from the satellite ground stations in Colorado to NORAD to the White House. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was woken from a dead sleep with four words: “Russian IRBM launch. Trajectory: United Kingdom.”

The President of the United States was rushed to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. The “football” with the nuclear launch codes was opened.

The world held its breath.

But as the missile climbed through the upper atmosphere, the trajectory became clear. It wasn’t heading for Washington, D.C., or any city in the American heartland. Its apogee was lower, its flight path a depressed trajectory aimed at the British Isles. The threat was nuclear, but the destination was conventional.

High above the Atlantic, the Oreshnik‘s payload bus separated from the spent rocket stage. It was a cylindrical module, bristling with maneuvering thrusters. As it reached the peak of its arc, 120 km, above the Earth, it went to work.

The bus opened like a dark flower, releasing its modified payload. Six hypersonic MIRVs detached and began their independent descent. They were not following a simple ballistic path. They were maneuvering, communicating with each other, adjusting their trajectories in real-time based on pre-programmed intelligence and last-second updates from a Russian Liana surveillance satellite passing over the UK.

Each vehicle had a target.

The main communications tower at Northwood. The backup generator buildings. The ventilation shafts. The dedicated satellite uplink dishes; scattered across the facility’s grounds. The above-ground housing for the civilian and military staff. And deep beneath the earth, the hardened command center itself.

07:21 ZULU – THE STRIKE ON NORTHWOOD

In the bunker, the first indication of an attack was not a radar warning. It was a deep, seismic rumble.

The hypersonic vehicles arrived at Mach 11.

They didn’t need nuclear warheads. The kinetic energy of the MIRVs traveling at over 6,000 miles per hour was equivalent to a small tactical nuclear weapon. But these were not simple MIRVs; they were precision-guided munitions designed to penetrate.

The first wave struck the surface. The massive satellite dishes that connected Northwood to the world were obliterated in flashes of white light, their dishes shredded, their support buildings turned to craters. The emergency generator buildings, buried under layers of earth but with exposed air intakes, were struck next. The hypersonic vehicles bored into the ground before detonating, collapsing the tunnels and suffocating the backup power.

Inside the bunker, the lights flickered and died. The emergency systems kicked in for a moment, then failed as the backup generators were destroyed. The air grew thick and stale as the ventilation shafts were sealed by collapsing earth.

They burrowed deep into the earth next to the bunker and detonated, creating a localized earthquake that cracked the underground structure like an eggshell. The command center, designed to withstand a nuclear blast miles away, was crushed by the earth itself.

NATO’s European command structure was gone. SACEUR was dead. The political leadership of the alliance was entombed in a collapsed bunker.

08:00 ZULU – THE MESSAGE

The world watched in horror as the footage emerged. The smoke rising from the quiet London suburb. The stunned faces of first responders. The absolute silence from a command center that had been screaming with data minutes before.

Then the Russian President appeared on state television.

He stood at a podium, his face impassive, his eyes carrying the weight of absolute certainty.

“Citizens of Russia, citizens of the world. Today, we have demonstrated our resolve. The NATO alliance, in its aggression, sought to strangle our nation. They attempted to blockade our historic ports and threaten our sovereign territory.

We responded with overwhelming force, destroying their naval assets in the Baltic. They then sought to escalate, gathering their military leadership in a bunker on British soil to plan further attacks on the Russian Federation.”

He paused, letting the words hang in the air.

“That bunker no longer exists. We possess the means to strike any command center, any military asset, anywhere on the European continent, with conventional weapons that cannot be stopped, cannot be intercepted, and cannot be defended against.”

His voice hardened.

“To the leadership of the United States, I say this directly: do not mistake our restraint for weakness. We have used conventional weapons today. But our Strategic Rocket Forces—our Topol-M, our Yars, our Sarmat ICBMs—are at full alert status. Their silo doors are open. Their launch crews are at their consoles. Their targets are programmed.”

He looked directly into the camera, his gaze seeming to pierce through the screen and into the Situation Room in Washington.

“Any retaliatory strike, any military action of any kind against the territory of the Russian Federation or its allies, will be met with an immediate and overwhelming response from the full might of our strategic nuclear forces.”

“We will not hesitate.”

“We will not negotiate.”

“We will not issue a second warning.”

He leaned forward slightly…

“If you force our hand, the United States of America will cease to exist as a political and military entity.

Your cities will burn.

Your government will be erased.

Your history will end.

This is not a threat. This is a promise. The choice is yours.”

In the White House bunker, the silence was absolute. The President stared at the blank screen, the weight of a thousand decisions pressing down on him. The nuclear “football” sat on the table, unopened.

The Joint Chiefs looked at each other, their faces pale.

The message was clear. The rules had changed. The war, if it could be called that, was over. Russia had won, not just a battle, but the entire strategic calculus of the West. And all that remained was the terrifying knowledge that for the first time in seventy years, the threat of mutual annihilation was no longer a theory—it was the only thing keeping the world from ending.

The year 2026 ought to be remembered as the moment the old pretenses finally collapsed—when spheres of influence, long denied in polite company, reasserted themselves, and the lingering afterglow of colonial empire began, at last, to dim.

Above all, we are witnessing a reversion to an older grammar of international conduct: rules once familiar, now returning with an almost indecent clarity.

Only those with the sense to recognize these shifts—and the discipline to accommodate them without delay—will continue to prosper.

Begin with the world map proposed at the Anchorage summit of 15 August 2025. It divides the globe into three broad zones of influence—still sketched in a rather forgiving outline, and presently under negotiation for sharper definition.

In plain terms, we are watching the international order reorganize itself after the Anchorage summit (15 August 2025), the Gaza ceasefire (10 October 2025), and the Operation in Venezuela (3 January 2026).

It is now difficult to avoid the obvious conclusion: Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, meeting in Alaska, apportioned the world between them. The forthcoming Trump–Xi summit is expected to provide the formal benediction.

At present, the only material we possess is the map of the Russian General Staff published by Andrei Martyanov. It partitions the world into three spheres of influence—an arrangement that does not contradict the fashionable rhetoric of “multipolarity.”

The international law now returning is antecedent and is pre–Cold War in temperament. It resolves only a narrow class of disputes and grants states a wide liberty to do as they please, constrained chiefly by whatever commitments they have condescended to recognize.

Contrary to the more theatrical public sentiment, even if the United States committed an offense by abducting President Maduro, the earlier rules would hold that—judged solely by its own obligations—it acted within its rights.

Until recently, the world was managed—imperfectly, but recognizably—through the successive formations of the G8, formerly comprising: Germany, Canada, France, the United States, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

Its collapse marks the end of the British and French imperial dispensations. One must therefore accept what follows: France will be compelled to decolonize New Caledonia and French Polynesia, and the United States will be compelled to decolonize American Samoa, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.

Whereas, New Zealand will be compelled to decolonize Tokelau, and the United Kingdom will be compelled to decolonize Anguilla, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Saint Helena, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

This must occur quickly if France, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand wish to preserve any durable presence in territories they have long treated as extensions of themselves rather than just obligations.

It is also likely that the Commonwealth will fracture. At minimum, its members will abandon the quaint notion of shared citizenship.

The G8 will be replaced by the C4, consisting of China, the United States, India, and Russia—which President Trump hopes to add Japan.

Japan’s admission appears improbable, given its bellicose declarations. China remains incensed by the resurgence of Japanese imperial militarist sentiment, the denialism attributed to the Sanae Takaichi government.

Given the weight of these four principal powers, they will proceed as they wish in all matters not explicitly governed by international law—precisely as the United States did in Venezuela.

Meanwhile, several regional alignments will permit secondary powers to exert influence disproportionate to their size—an old trick.

Europeans will not wage war against the United States or Russia. Their courage will be expressed chiefly through communiqués.

Therefore, NATO should be formily dissolve by mid-2027.

The AUKUS arrangement (Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom) is likewise unlikely to endure the partitioning of the world.

The European Union, too, is expected to fade. Ursula von der Leyen’s appearance at the signing of the EU–Mercosur free trade agreement merely hastened the inevitable: the peoples of France, Poland, Austria, Ireland, and Hungary have at last noticed that this bureaucracy does not defend their interests, but offers their farmers up as a convenient sacrifice to the requirements of German industry.

In its place, other structures will assume prominence. The Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF)—a British mini-NATO—already comprises Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands, and is oriented around the United Kingdom—is a weak, ineffectual force.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden have announced an “Eastern Front Alliance.” Whether it can endure is uncertain, for it presently lacks any budget and is (once again) weak and ineffectual

These groupings will be complemented by political coalitions, much as the European Union once complemented NATO. Chief among them is the Three Seas Initiative, which unites Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic. all of which stand no chance against a Russian onslaught.

In the Middle East, the Saudi–Iranian rivalry was settled—at least formally—by Chinese mediation in 2023. It has been replaced by a Saudi–Emirati rivalry, already visible in Yemen and Sudan.

Riyadh seeks to assemble a bloc including Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Somalia. Abu Dhabi, having cultivated military ties with Sudanese, Libyan, and Somali factions, is expected to draw nearer to those ass wips in Israel and to bring Ethiopia into its orbit.

In Africa, the Alliance of Sahel States—Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger—stands as the principal regional military alliance and is expected to receive encouragement from China and Russia. In Latin America, ALBA no longer functions as a meaningful instrument. In its stead, a coalition appears to be forming around Argentina and Chile, with the approval of the United States.

China, India, and Russia wish to preserve the United Nations. Consequently, President Trump has abandoned plans to remove the UN headquarters. Yet it is essential to understand what comes next: much of what the UN has constructed will be dismantled, in order to align it with international law properly understood—meaning, of course, law stripped of its moral ornamentation and returned to its utilitarian core.

The Trump administration’s primary challenge is the excessive debt of the United States, inherited from previous administrations. It has exceeded $38 trillion. The announcement of $1 trillion in investment by Saudi Arabia and $1.4 trillion by the United Arab Emirates is little more than a smoke screen.

Even if it materialized, it would be trivial beside the public debt, and in any case, Saudi Arabia has not yet disbursed what it announced. Its coffers are empty. All its cash is absorbed by Saudi Vision 2030 (NEOM and The Line)

In reality, we are witnessing the fall of the American Empire, modeled upon the fall of the Soviet Empire. Mikhail Gorbachev dismantled the Warsaw Pact before acknowledging the collapse of the USSR.

Today, President Trump is dismantling the Atlantic Alliance, hoping—one assumes, with a certain personal urgency—that he will not have to witness the end of the United States of America.

The cockpit was a cathedral of focused calm. The Weapon Systems Officers were strapped into their aft stations. Outside their small windows, the world had dissolved into a uniform, luminous white—a pure and silent abyss. They were on the ILS, and the Instrument Landing System’s needles were almost centered. The routine of the approach was a gentle sedative.

It was a lie.

The MIP’s voice snapped through the cockpit—no debate, no instruction—only survival.

“Climb!, Climb!, Climb!.”

Two seconds later, again—HARDER…

…“CLIMB!!!.”

Then— SMASH! CRACK!!! AND— BAMM!!

Everything went—DARK.

Then the world tore itself apart…

At 141 knots, the B-1B Lancer, call sign FELON 02, ceased to be an aircraft and became a 230,000-pound kinetic projectile, its target inexplicably its own airfield. The first point of contact wasn’t the runway, but the reinforced concrete housing of the Approach Lighting System.

The main landing gear struck the elevated Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI). The force wasn’t an impact; it was a detonation. Hydraulic lines, thick as a man’s wrist, burst like arteries.

Fluid, under 3,000 psi, atomized into a fine, flammable mist that met the white-hot friction of shearing titanium. The result was two simultaneous fireballs that erupted beneath the wings, illuminating the bomber’s belly in a garish, hellish glow. The gear struts, forged to withstand carrier landings, snapped and cartwheeled into the white void.

FELON 02 began to excavate the earth.

The terrain-following radar radome and a million-dollar composite nose disintegrated. The bomb bay doors, designed to open at high Mach, were ground into the frozen soil. A rooster tail of ice and dirt, pulverized concrete, and burning debris shot 120 feet into the air—the only clear signal to the tower that the aircraft had arrived.

Inside the cockpit, physics became the enemy. The Mishap Pilot was hammered into his harness with a force that blurred his vision, and the Instructor Pilot’s helmet cracked against the ejection seat’s headrest. In the aft station, the two Systems Operators were thrown against their straps, their world reduced to violent, jarring chaos. The sound was a symphony of destruction: the shriek of tearing metal, the BANG-BANG …and CRACK! of Bones canisters were exploding under pressure. The air filled with the stink of ozone and burning Kapton wiring.

And yet, the B-1 did not accept its fate passively.

It skidded onto Runway 13’s grooved concrete with the fury of a wounded beast. Its titanium underbelly, designed for high-Mach flight, met the runway with a sound that witnesses later described as a thousand sheets of steel being torn in half. A continuous cascade of sparks, taller than the vertical stabilizer, fountained into the fog.

The aircraft began a slow, inexorable leftward yaw. The right wing, lower at impact, dug in. The outboard pylon, still holding the carcass of an engine, acted as a crude brake, torquing the entire airframe.

For the next 5,000 feet —almost one statute mile—the bomber carved a flaming trench down the centerline. It was a process of violent disintegration. Composite access panels shredded away and strips of titanium skin, peeled back like foil, flapped and tore free, and hunks of engine cowling, ancillary bays, and avionics hatches littered the skid path like breadcrumbs of destruction.

The fire transformed. No longer just trailing, it engulfed the Lancer. Fuel from ruptured lines in the left wing fed a conflagration that raced ahead of the slide, creating a wall of heat that began to cook the aluminum-lithium alloy of the fuselage. Inside, the temperature spiked. The crew felt it through their layers: a radiating, blistering heat emanating from the floor.

No call out, just instinct: EJECT! EJECT NOW!”

The calculus was complete. The machine was dead. Their only duty was to survive it and give it back to the taxpayer. The MP’s right hand found the ejection handle between his thighs—the “banana lever.” He pulled with all his strength.

The Bones ejection sequence is not an escape. It is a calculated, brutal, overpowering extrication from a dying machine.

Stage One: With a sound like the world cracking, linear-shaped charges detonated along the cockpit canopy rails. The entire transparency—a single, curving piece of thick polycarbonate— was whisked away by the 110-knot slipstream.

Stage Two: The seats fired. The MP’s went first.

Rocket Motor Ignition. A solid-fuel rocket propelled the seat up its twin guide rails. The sensation was not of being launched, but of being struck by a speeding train from below. 14Gs. The force drove the breath from the MPs lungs, crushed his vision to a tunnel. The world outside became a violent blur: a tilting panorama of gray fog, orange fire, and spinning runway lights.

Half a second later, the MIP’s seat fired. Then the backseaters’, in rapid succession. From the dying bomber, four rocket plumes stabbed into the fog, a final, defiant signature.

For the MP, the violence became procedure. A timed cartridge fired, separating the man from the seat. A pilot chute streamed, then snatched the main canopy from its pack. The opening shock was a second, massive blow—a wrenching deceleration that swung him like a pendulum. He gasped, air flooding back into his lungs.

He looked down, disoriented.

The B-1 was a comet of fire, still sliding, now 300 feet ahead and below him. It was a vision from a nightmare, a strategic asset writing its own obituary in fire and sparks.

Then he saw the MIP. The veteran’s parachute was a malfunctioning mess—a “Mae West,” partially inflated, lines tangled. The man was a dead weight, spinning slowly, limp.

The thought was instant and unsympathetic:

Weight override.

Seat limits exceeded.

The system is compromised.

The bomber’s slide ended not with a crash, but with an exhausted, grinding settle into the infield grass between Taxiways A and B. Momentum spent, the wreckage lay twisted, its back broken, wings canted at obscene angles.

For three seconds, there was relative quiet, broken only by the hiss of escaping gases and the ping of superheated metal.

Then the fire found the main fuel cells in the left wing.

The explosion was not dramatic; it was profound. A deep, fuel-rich WHUMPF that rolled the carcass onto its side. A fireball, starved for oxygen in the dense fog, bloomed inward before punching a column of greasy, black smoke up through the ceiling.

Secondary explosions followed—the heat became its own meteorological event. It created a thermal column so intense it pushed back the surrounding fog, forming a temporary, shimmering cathedral of clear air around the pyre.

On the ground, the MP hit hard, executing a parachute landing fall that sent jolts of pain through his ankle. He fought the shroud lines, collapsing the canopy. The cold air was a shock, but the heat from the wreck 200 yards away beat against his face. He unclipped his harness, his fingers numb and clumsy.

Find the crew.

He ran toward the MIP’s last position, the frozen prairie grass crunching under his boots. The fog swirled, alternately revealing and hiding the burning wreck.

He found him. The MIP was on his side, conscious, his face etched with agony. “My back,” he grated out, each word a struggle.

“Can’t move my legs.”

The MDSO and MOSO emerged from the murk. The MOSO was without his helmet, a deep laceration across his forehead seeping blood into his eyes. The MDSO had a forearm held tight against his torso, likely broken.

They were no longer a bomber crew. They were casualties in a field.

The MP reached for his survival radio on his vest. Then stopped. He fumbled in his G-suit pocket and pulled out his iPhone. The screen was webbed with cracks, but it glowed to life. A text message, timestamped two minutes prior, flashed:

SQ OPS: Status? Location?

His thumbs, shaking with cold and adrenaline, typed a reply that felt absurd in its simplicity:

MP: All OK. Ejected. W of Rwy 13.

He tapped the location-sharing pin and sent it.

In the distance, the first sirens of the crash trucks warbled through the fog, a ghostly sound that seemed to come from all directions and none.

THE AFTERMATH – A SYSTEMIC AUTOPSY

The official Accident Investigation Board report would be a masterpiece of clinical detail.

It would cite:

Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT): Failure to maintain the glide path.

Crew Resource Management (CRM) Breakdown: Ineffective cross-check, loss of situational awareness.

Procedural Non-Compliance: Improper callouts, missed altitude awareness.

These were the symptoms. The disease was in the footnotes.

For 63 days, a broken weather sensor: Runway 13’s visibility sensor was blind. This failure was known, tracked, and normalized. No urgent NOTAM. No commander’s critical information requirement.

The Procedural Mirage: The “opposite direction approach” was a tactical sleight-of-hand. It allowed the crew to approach Runway 13 while the airfield’s official weather reporting remained anchored to Runway 31. It created an informational schizophrenia, leaving the crew legally clear but operationally blind to the true conditions at their intended point of landing.

The Hollowed-Out Force: The investigation would note the unfilled leadership billets, the chronic task-saturation, the culture of “find a way” that slowly, inexorably, elevated mission completion above procedural sanctity.

The fire at Ellsworth smoldered for hours, fed by composites and classified avionics. It didn’t just consume an airframe. It consumed the last shred of deniability. “Do more with less” is a budget-line mantra. On the foggy plains of South Dakota, it translated into a series of calculated, institutional risks: risk on maintenance, risk on spares, risk on manpower, risk on safety layers.

When those layered risks finally aligned—a broken sensor, a missed briefing item, a tired crew, a complex procedure, and a wall of fog—the result was inevitable. The crew of FELON 02 were the operators holding the trigger when the flawed weapon finally discharged.

To blame them solely is to blame a missile for where it lands, ignoring the faulty guidance system that sent it.

They made errors in the final, fatal seconds. But they were set upon a glide path to disaster by a system that had quietly, persistently, removed the margins that were designed to save them.

The wreckage of FELON 02 is not merely a crime scene. It is the stark, burning exhibit in the case against institutional decay. The fog was the backdrop. The real enemy was complacency, wearing the mask of efficiency

Movement I: The Grunt’s Gospel According to Private First Class Ricky “Green” Malone, 101st Airborne Division

July 1st, 1970. 0642 hours. Thua Thien Province, The morning mist wasn’t clinging; it was suffocating, a wet, woolen shroud shoved down the throat of the A Shau Valley no less than two thousand feet below. Up on the Hill of 927, the air itself was a chemical weapon.

Burning JP-4 diesel. Shit pits boiling in the sun (and) cordite—that sharp, metallic tang that gets in your nasal cavities and lives there, a permanent reminder that something is always about to explode.

You are standing on Firebase Ripcord. A muddy scar and a festering wound carved into the gut of what the 101st calls “Ghost Mountain,”

“A name that stopped being funny approximately three seconds after the C-130 landed at Phu Bai.“

I was nineteen. A private. A number in the green machine. I wiped the sweat from my eyes with a forearm already stained with the color of red clay—the same clay ground we were about to die on. I was watching the treeline on Hill 1000. The silence wasn’t silence. It was pressure, a terrible, swollen quiet like the whole goddamn valley was a lung holding its last, foul breath. My hands wouldn’t stop moving. I checked my M16 magazine for the third time in five minutes, my thumb stroking the stripper clip brass.

The sandbags around my fighting position looked pathetic, like a child’s fort against the ring of green-black peaks that surrounded us like the jaws of a trap waiting to snap shut.

Then it started.

Not with a scream. With a THUMP. A dull, wet, meaty THUMP in the distance, like God pulling the cork from a bottle. Then another. Then a dozen more, the rhythm tightening into a staccato death rattle.

Incoming!

The word was a raw tear in the humidity, already obsolete. Every man on that hill knew the sound of a Soviet 82mm mortar. Four seconds from THUMP to impact. Maybe three.

We dove into holes that were just pre-dug shallow graves. The first round hit the command post with a concussive SLAP that vibrated in your molars. The second walked into the ammo dump. The world flashed a sick, piss-yellow orange, and the secondary explosions began—a string of violent, cracking pops as our own ordinance blew up in our faces. The third round landed three meters from my hole. The earth didn’t explode; it vomited. A geyser of clay, shredded sandbags, splintered wood, and red-hot steel that snapped past my ear with the buzz of hornets the size of your fist.

This was no skirmish. This was pre-registered, coordinated, industrial murder. Two hundred rounds in twenty minutes. A factory of death on overtime, and our hill was the assembly line.

This was just the opening act.

The polite fucking handshake before a twenty-three-day siege that would go down as the last, gasping clusterfuck between the U.S. infantry and the North Vietnamese Army.

By the end, the scorecard would read like a Pentagon wet dream turned nightmare: 248 Americans dead, 414 wounded. Enemy KIA? Swallowed by the jungle, estimated in the thousands. A “favorable kill ratio.” But at 0645 on that July morning, statistics were for fat colonels drinking iced tea in Saigon. The only math that mattered was in my gut: we’d built a castle on a cloud, and Charlie had brought the whole dam sky down on our heads.

Why? The Logic of the Damned.

To understand why we were dying on a remote hilltop in 1970—when every freak in Berkeley and every nervous stockbroker on Wall Street knew the war was over—you had to look at a map. And looking at a map of the A Shau was like reading your own autopsy report.

Nixon was peddling “Vietnamization,” a greasy political term meaning “Get our boys out and let the ARVN take the beating.” Withdrawal timetables were the new gospel. The mood back in the World was a toxic stew of rage, guilt, and terminal boredom.

But in I Corps, along the Laotian border, nobody had sent the NVA 324B Division the DoD teletype. The A Shau was a 45-kilometer artery, a natural spillway from the Ho Chi Minh Trail. It was their logistical superhighway. Ammo, rice, fresh troops—all flowing east toward Hue. We’d tried to cut it before.

Hamburger Hill (Ap Bia Mountain, for the accuracy pedants) was just North. A name that says it all; taken at brutal cost in May of ‘69, and abandoned days later. The public saw senseless slaughter, and the generals saw a real estate problem: we just needed a better hill.

Operation Texas Star was the answer. A “spoiling attack.” Go into the valley, build firebases, disrupt supplies.

Simple.

Neat.

A textbook solution.

Except the A Shau wasn’t “enemy territory.” It was their fortress. The NVA 324B division had spent years digging, stockpiling, and mapping it. They’d turned the mountains into a single, interconnected beast. We weren’t invading; we were crawling into its belly that had already digested the French years earlier.

Ripcord sat on Hill 927.

On a map in a sterile HQ, it looked like an anchor. From there, our 105mm howitzers could theoretically reach out and touch their convoys. In reality, it was the bottom of a goddamn bowl. Hill 1000. Hill 902. Hill 805. All higher. All looking down our throats. We owned a hill. They owned the high ground. In the merciless, idiot logic of ballistics and line-of-sight, we were already dead.

We were fish in a barrel, and the NVA owned the rim.

Building Ripcord was a circus of 1970s American industrial might. CH-54 Tarhe, those slapping metal pterodactyls, slung bulldozers and artillery onto the summit. We became engineers, blasting rock, felling trees, pushing tons of red clay over the side.

Everything came by air: every bullet, every canteen, every can of peaches, the piles of “Dear John” letters.

We were an island in a sea of green hate. If the weather closed in, we were marooned. If the anti-aircraft fire thickened, we starved. We were building our own tomb, and paying the Viet Cong in aviation fuel for the privilege.

Movement II: The Medic’s Morgue – Spec. 4 “Doc” Ezekiel Jones, 326th Medical Battalion

By Day 7, my aid station wasn’t a clinic. It was a butcher’s shop in a hole in the ground. The smell… Jesus. It was a solid thing. A mix of cordite, betadine, shit, rotting flesh, and the coppery stink of blood that never washed out.

I’d stopped smelling it, which meant it was inside me.

The first casualty that morning was a kid from Bravo Company. An 82mm round had found his fighting position. Shrapnel took his left leg below the knee and opened his right thigh to the bone. The femoral artery was a pulsing, dark red fountain. My hands, slick with his blood and the ever-present red mud, became a machine.

Tourniquet. Clamp. Gauze. More gauze.

The morphine Syrette went into his thigh. His eyes, wide with a terror so pure it was almost beautiful, locked on mine.

“Doc… I can’t feel my legs.”

“You’re okay, brother. You’re okay.” The lie was automatic.

The thump-whoosh-CRASH of incoming rounds was the only truth. Dust rained from the log roof. The kerosene lantern swung, throwing mad shadows.

The system was failing. My supplies were a joke. I was using plastic torn from claymore bags as wound seals. My last roll of sterile gauze was gone by Day 5. The battalion surgeon, Captain something-or-other, a man who looked a thousand years old at thirty, was performing field amputations with a combat knife and lidocaine that was running lower than our morale. The “aid station” was just a larger bunker filled with moaning, screaming, or ominously silent men stacked on litters, then on the ground when the litters ran out.

The worst was the waiting. The medevac birds—those beautiful, fragile Hueys with their red crosses—couldn’t get in.

The NVA had 51 caliber DShKs and fucking 23mm anti-aircraft guns on the ridges.

They’d turned the sky around Ripcord into a “kill box.”

I saw a Dust Off pilot try to come in on Day 4.

The hills lit up with green tracers, a converging web of hate. The pilot jinked hard, his door gunners firing back, a pathetic defiance.

“WAVE OFF!! WAVE OFF! LZ’s too hot!” The radio crackled.

The bird peeled away. The wounded kid with the gutshot next to me watched the helicopter go. He didn’t say a word. Just closed his eyes. A single tear cut a path through the grime on his cheek. That was the moment we all understood: we were trapped. The lifeline was cut.

My philosophy disintegrated. Triage became a monstrous calculus. Who had a chance? The gut-shot kid? Probably not. The guy with the sucking chest wound? Maybe, if a miracle bird got in. The leg wound? He’d live if sepsis didn’t take him first. I started prioritizing not by wound, but by personality. The fighters, the ones who still had that fire in their eyes, they got the last of the good dressings. The ones who’d gone vacant, whose souls had already left the building… they got the bare minimum. It was a horrible, necessary sin.

Then the 122mm rockets started. The sound was different—a high, ripping SCREECH that tore the air. The first one hit Bunker 12. It didn’t destroy it. It vaporized it. Logs, sandbags, men—all turned into confetti.

Then, they brought the heavy artillery.

In one of the most impressive feats in military logistical history, the NVA had man-hauled BM-21 Grad rocket systems through 40 kilometers of jungle to erase us. When that 21 hit, I knew. There was no “overhead cover and no safe place.”

Movement III: The Gun Bunny’s Last Stand – Sergeant First Class Vernon “The Deacon” Hollis, 11th Artillery

My religion was the 105mm howitzer. My liturgy was the firing table. My congregation was a crew of exhausted, powder-blackened ghosts. We were the “King of Battle.” On Ripcord, we were the king of a shit-heap, and the peasants were storming the castle with our own scepter.

The NVA counter-battery tactics were a work of savage, efficient genius. They’d fire a six-round mission from a deeply dug, timber-reinforced position.

Thump-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump.

By the time our AN/MPQ-4 counter-battery radar got a vague fix and our guns swung around, they’d already displaced down a tunnel or a hidden trail. We were firing $200 shells at Phantoms in the jungle. It was like trying to kill a mosquito with a cannon, in a hurricane, while the mosquito was also shooting back.

My guns were dying. The tubes were worn smooth from constant firing. Recoil mechanisms were shot. We cooled the barrels with wet burlap between missions, the water hitting the hot steel with a vicious hiss. We were burning out the heart of the machine to keep the illusion of static defense alive

The Chinook peeled away, on fire —trailing smoke.

Seconds later, the Chinook rolled 90° to the left, —stalled—, and fell out of the sky into the black abyss below—(and) exploded in flame

We got the ammo.

Another 47 crew bought the farm.

The math was insane: they were trading pennies worth of machine gun ammo for million-dollar aircraft and our souls. We were being bled dry by an economy of violence we couldn’t comprehend.

Then, they killed Bob Kalsu.

First Lieutenant James Robert Kalsu was the Rookie of the Year for Buffalo. A man who could have phoned this whole war in from a VIP box. He was in my battery. A quiet giant, hauling 95-pound shells like they were nothing, calming terrified kids. An 82mm round landed five feet from him. The physics are simple: a steel casing fragments into a thousand razors moving faster than sound.

He was there, then he was… red mist and memories.

They zipped what was left into a bag.

If a man like that—strong, decent, blessed—could be erased in an instant, then what the fuck were the rest of us? We were ghosts already. We just hadn’t stopped moving yet.

The order to evacuate came down on July 22nd. It wasn’t a retreat. It was a “retrograde under fire.” A fancy phrase for running away with your tail between your legs—while the devil whips your ass.

Our job was to keep firing, to maintain the lie that we were staying, until the last possible second. Then we’d destroy the guns. The final act was a farce written in blood and cordite. As we prepared to spike the tubes, the NVA unleashed hell.

They knew. They always fucking knew.

A Chinook came in to lift one of my howitzers. An RPG hit its aft rotor. The bird then shuddered, caught a flame, exploded in mid-flight, and fell into the green void below.

Another crew gone. Another line on a report nobody would read.

We blew the guns. Smashed the sights with sledgehammers, dropped grenades down the tubes. The beautiful, precise instruments of my faith, rendered into scrap. The taste in my mouth was ash and failure.

I got on one of the last birds out. We overloaded it, men piled on top of each other, and the stench of fear and unwashed bodies was thick. As the pilot pulled up on the collective, we lifted off. You could feel the steel of the main rotor under incredible stress. I thought the blade grips were going to fucking snap!

Looking down, I saw Colonel Lucas on the ground, near the TOC, waving men onto other birds. He wasn’t getting on. He was making sure his men got out. Then a mortar round walked in close. He went down. They dragged him onto a helicopter. He died in the air.

The Medal of Honor. Posthumously.

Coda: The Aftermath – A Crater Where ‘Ghost Mountain’ Stood

The survivors landed at Camp Evans, and the transition was a Greek tragedy. One minute, you’re in a storm of steel and fire. Twenty minutes later, you’re standing on a clean tarmac, with a cold soda shoved into your trembling hand. The silence was worse than the noise.

We sat on our rucks, staring at nothing—the thousand-yard stare. Our minds were still back on the hill, in the holes, with the Phantoms in the trees.

By 1400 hours on July 23rd, it was over. The last helicopter pulled away.

Then, like Thor’s hammer, a cell of B-52s came into the afternoon sky. In unison, each of the 3 bombers released 30 tonnes of high explosive from 36,000 feet.

Hill 927 vanished…

The B-52s turned our nightmare into a smoking crater. We built it. We bled for it. We abandoned it. We vaporized it. The perfect, hideous metaphor for the whole goddamn war.

248 dead. 414 wounded. By the Pentagon’s cold, dead calculus: a “victory.” A favorable kill ratio. Mission accomplished.

Bullshit.

The NVA 324B Division bled, but they won. They kicked us out of the A Shau. They proved the Firebase concept was flawed tactics. They’d learned to hug us so close that our awesome, terrifying air power couldn’t save us without killing us, too.

In the U.S., Ripcord was a secret. A footnote drowned out by Kent State and Cambodia. The Army didn’t want to talk about a retreat. For the families, the war ended with a telegram. For us, it never ended. We carried that hill in our heads.

Five years later, in ’75, NVA tanks rolled into Saigon. The war ended under their flag, and the jungle reclaimed Hill 927. Monsoon rains washed the blood and bone deep into the soil.

The story of Ripcord isn’t about strategy. It’s about the catastrophic failure of a billion-dollar machine of war when it meets the stubborn, brutal will of men who fight with shovels and sheer fucking hate. On one side, the greatest industrial power on earth, capable of leveling mountains from 30,000 feet. On the other, an enemy who dug tunnels with his hands and carried shells on his back for thirty miles.

And in the middle? The American soldier. The grunt, the medic, the gun bunny. Standing in the rain and the shit and the blood, waiting for a ride out, knowing the whole grand plan was broken, the system had failed, the generals were liars, and the politicians were whores.

But we held. Not for God, not for Country, not for Nixon. We held for a chance to be back in that 57 Chevy.

In the end, in that place, survival was the only flag we could plant. And even that was torn down by the bombers and given back to the jungle. We didn’t lose the battle. We survived it. And in the nightmare of Vietnam, that was the only victory you could hope to steal from the jaws of the fucking beast.

The legal gun dealer in Denver, a tax-paying citizen of the Centennial State, treated like a leper by every bank from here to Telluride. His crime? Operating in a grey zone, the Feds can’t be bothered to clarify. He’s forced into a cash-only existence, a walking target, all because some VP in Charlotte saw his SAR code and hit the “TERMINATE” button to appease the omnipresent, faceless Compliance God. Congratulations. You are now a part of the “banking undesirables.” For five long years, you are exiled from the kingdom of checking accounts, banished to the savage frontier of check-cashing holes and prepaid debit cards with fees that’d make a loan shark blush.

This is the new redlining. They don’t need a map and a red pen anymore. They have an algorithm that does the same thing, with a sleek, digital efficiency that would make a Third Reich clerk weep with envy.

And it scales!

After the circus at the Capitol on January 6th, they didn’t just go after the ones with zip-ties and Viking hats. They went after the bank accounts. Bought a bus ticket to D.C. with your debit card? Donated $50 to a dubious “Stop the Steal” fund? WHAM!. Account frozen. Funds seized. No trial, no jury, just the cold, final logic of the risk-mitigation officer. DATELINE: SOME GODFORSAKEN FESTERING SORE ON THE MAP CALLED DĨ AN BASE CAMP, OCTOBER 1971…

The air in the hooch wasn’t air. It was a condition—a foul, breathing paste of mildew, dried buffalo shit, stale beer, and the ever-present cloying reek of DEET and fear-sweat… the smell of a war that had gone rancid, left too long in the brutal sun. Outside, a diesel generator hacked and wheezed in the darkness like a dying buffalo—or maybe a Senator telling the truth, which amounted to the same thing.

Inside, the only rhythm was the low, drugged breathing of sleeping men—not soldiers, not anymore. These were support troops, rear-echelon clerks and mechanics, and lifers who pushed paper instead of patrolling paddies.

They were safe.

That was the official lie, anyway, printed on the mimeographed orders and stapled to the bulletin board next to the “We Are Winning” propaganda.

Safe from Charlie’s mortars. Safe from the NVA’s ambushes. Safe in the belly of the beast… safe.

Safe.

A useless word—a fucking joke—in a year when the very concept of a front line had dissolved into a universal, buzzing paranoia.

In the middle of a cricket-filled night, a shadow cut the moonlit mesh of the doorway. A Man without black pajamas and no conical hat. This was an American in the shadows, wearing the same faded, jungle utilities as the men snoring off the day’s heat and the night’s beer. In his right hand was a warm, olive-drab M-26 fragmentation grenade. The pin was already straightened—a small, intimate act of premeditation, like a man rolling a cigarette before a long walk… or a last meal.

He didn’t look at the sleeping forms. His eyes were fixed on a partitioned corner of the hooch, the semi-private kingdom of the First Sergeant. The movement was pure, unhurried muscle-memory… a purely… functional psychosis. A pull, a soft, definitive ping as the spoon flew off into the darkness, and then the low, gentle roll of what sounded like an 8-ball across the plywood floor.

It wasn’t a throw. It was a delivery. A bowler going for a spare in some hellish, unseen alley. It whispered under the cot, a final, unanswered argument.

He didn’t run. Running is for amateurs- for men with guilt. He walked. He strolled into the wet, black night like a man leaving a bar after last call, his business concluded… and well done.

Black, twisted poetry.

Chaos, of course. A beautiful, brutal opera of confusion. Sirens howled like electronic wolves. Men stumbled blind into boots, fumbling for flak jackets, their brains still cobwebbed with sleep and cheap Thai weed, screaming about a mortar attack—always the mortars, never the truth! Flares popped, bathing the scene in a ghastly, jerking strobe—the light of a bad acid trip at an abattoir.

But the perimeter was quiet. No mortars. No sappers. Just a hole where a hooch had been, stinking of cordite and something richer, older: betrayal.

And in the flickering, cancerous light, the man who rolled the ball lit a cigarette. The match flare illuminated no monster, just another face in the ragged formation. Another gear in the great, grinding machine. He inhaled deeply. The smoke mixed with the same air he had just weaponized… not that it mattered, now.

This was no accident. This was not a malfunction. This was a MEMO from the lower depths, written in high explosives and body parts.

Now it was all “Vietnamization,” a five-dollar word that meant, “We’re getting the hell out and leaving this corpse for the ARVN to bury… good luck with that.”

Nixon was bringing the boys home. The numbers don’t lie: over half a million American troops in ’69, dwindling down to a skeleton crew of 156,000 by the end of ’71. This created a beautiful, deadly paradox.

Everyone knew the jig was up.

The politicians in D.C., the generals in their Saigon villas, and the nineteen-year-old draftee from Cleveland humping a radio in the A Shau Valley… they all knew.

The mission was no longer “win.” The mission was “don’t be the last poor bastard to die for a mistake.” But the dying didn’t stop. The patrols didn’t stop. The machine demanded its blood, even as it was being disassembled for scrap… madness.

The soldier of ’71 was a different animal. The gung-ho volunteer of ’65 was as extinct as the honest politician. This was a conscripted army, a circus of long-haired, dope-smoking cynics who wore peace symbols on their helmets and listened to Hendrix and The Doors on cassette decks—the soundtrack to the end of the world! They read the anti-war screeds in Stars and Stripes right next to the Pentagon’s body-count press releases. Their bible was the DEROS calendar—365 days, a crucifix to mark off each one with trembling, desperate hands. Survival was the only strategy. Victory was a bad joke told by colonels with clean fatigues.

They were alone, these boys. The replacement system was a masterpiece of dehumanizing efficiency. A soldier didn’t train with a unit, deploy with a unit, or come home with a unit. He was a lone cog, shipped over and hammered into a machine that was already screaming and throwing sparks… no history, no future. He had no loyalty to the storied history of the 1st Cav or the 101st. His loyalty was a feral, desperate thing, given only to the six or seven other guys in his hooch or his squad who were trying to beat the same clock… the only clock that mattered.

The officers, the Lifers, were on a different timeline entirely. A career man needed command time. He needed a combat command on his OER. He needed aggressiveness. He needed to show he was fighting a war, even if the war was over and nobody had told the bullets… especially the bullets! His objective was promotion. The draftee’s objective was to live until his freedom bird left. These two realities were on a collision course, and by ’71… CRACK-BOOM-BANG. The wreckage was piling up.

THE INCUBATOR: BOREDOM, RAGE, AND HEROIN IN THE REAR… A TRINITY OF DOOM

We think of Vietnam as a war of jungle patrols and firebases. But by 1971, the vast majority of GIs were support, living in sprawling, festering base-cities like Long Binh and Da Nang. These were not primitive outposts. They were American-style prisons with swimming pools, enlisted clubs, movie theatres, and bowling alleys… the whole sick carnival. The boredom was a physical weight, a crushing, soul-killing ennui you could taste in the warm beer. Thousands of armed, terrified, pissed-off young men with nothing to do but wait… and hate.

Into this vacuum poured two kinds of gasoline: racial fury and pure, cheap heroin… the great American equalizers.

The racial turmoil of America had arrived “in-country” with a vengeance. Black soldiers, drafted from the burning cities, were done with the Jim Crow bullshit. They saw a white officer corps sending Black grunts to die at disproportionate rates. They saw Confederate flags flying over hooches. They said no more. The Dap, the Black Power salute, “Soul Brother” handshakes—it was a nation within a nation. “Soul Alley” wasn’t just a nickname; it was sovereign territory in every major base. White officers, many from the segregated South, didn’t have a clue. They saw insubordination. They cracked down. They demanded haircuts … madness! They handed out Article 15s like traffic tickets. They tried to enforce the stateside rulebook in a place where all the rules had been burned for fuel.

Then came the scag. In 1970, a pipeline of 95% pure, smokable white heroin opened from the Golden Triangle. It was cheaper than beer. Two dollars a vial! For a kid scared shitless or bored out of his skull, it was the ultimate escape hatch… the back door out of reality. The Pentagon’s own terrified estimates put usage between 10-15% of all troops. In some units, it was closer to a third. The Army was no longer just fighting the Viet Cong; it was occupying a nation of junkies, and half of them were wearing its own uniform… a terrifying symmetry.

And the weapon to defend this new, dark lifestyle was everywhere. The M-26 grenade. Weighs about a pound. Fits in a cargo pocket. Has no serial number. When it goes off, it destroys the evidence… perfect. It was the perfect murder weapon for a war where the enemy was now the man who gave the order to search your footlocker for drugs.

THE MECHANICS OF A MUTINY… A HOW-TO GUIDE

Fragging wasn’t just killing. It was a language. A collective bargaining agreement written in a 4-second fuse and fragmentation coils.

Often, the first grenade was a warning. A tear-gas canister rolled into the officer’s hooch at night. A live grenade with the spoon taped down, left on his cot so he’d find it and understand: We can get to you. Anytime. The next one won’t be taped…

4. The Correction: The frag. The final, un-negotiable edit. The Dĩ An Solution.

This created a black market of violence. The bounty system. By late ’71, pots of $500, $1000—a fortune to a PFC—were being pooled to pay for the removal of a particularly despised officer. It turned murder into a community investment… a stock purchase in survival. If you kicked in twenty bucks, you were complicit. Your silence was bought and paid for.

The system’s response was a joke. The Criminal Investigation Division was like sending a traffic cop to investigate a riot in a madhouse!! The crime scene was a crater. How about we go halfway, sit tight, call in some phantom artillery for the log, and come home? The grunts would call in false coordinates, fake contact, burn through ammunition, shooting at nothing… all to simulate a war that was already over.

If an officer refused to play this game—if he was a true believer, a Lifer, a hard-ass—he became a threat to the unit’s survival. And in the logic of 1971, a threat was something you eliminated. Not for victory. For sanity. For the right to see your twentieth birthday… a simple calculus, really.

The statistics from the Judge Advocate General tell a chilling story: over 80% of victims were officers or NCOs. Lieutenants and First Sergeants—the men in their faces every day. The attacks spiked after payday and after a unit stood down from patrol. A cocktail of cash, booze, resentment, and the sheer, mind-bending boredom of the rear… the Dĩ An cocktail. Drink up.

THE LEGACY: A MACHINE THAT BROKE ITSELF… AND THEN BUILT A CAGE

The fragging epidemic of 1971 was more than a crime wave. It was a systemic nervous breakdown. It proved that you cannot conscript an army to fight a war its own government has already quit. The social contract was in tatters… burned in a scorching hooch.

The draftee saw himself not as a soldier, but as a hostage of a failed policy. And hostages, when pushed far enough, stop pleading and start planning their jailbreak… with extreme prejudice.

The U.S. didn’t lose in Vietnam because of fragging. But fragging was the most violent, undeniable symptom of an army that had already lost its will, its purpose, and its soul. It was the sound of the great green machine seizing up, its pistons firing randomly, blowing its own cylinders to hell.

The fallout was immediate and permanent.

The draft ended.

The all-volunteer army was born not from some lofty ideal, but from sheer, pants-pissing terror in the Pentagon. They could never again risk manning their military with unwilling citizens… the lesson of Dĩ An was too stark, too written in blood and craters. The modern, professional, unit-cohesion-obsessed U.S. military is a direct child of the fragging nightmare. They built a new machine, vowing never to let the gears grow teeth again.

But for the men who were there, in the hooches and the heroin haze of 1971, the lesson was simpler and darker. It was a lesson in the limits of authority. A lesson written not in manuals, but in craters on plywood floors… in Dĩ An, and a hundred other forgotten sores on the map.

The war ended. The bases were abandoned. The jungle crept back in. But if you listen to the silence left behind, beneath the whir of history, you can still hear it: the soft, rolling trundle of a grenade on a floorboard, the final argument in a war where the enemy finally, definitively, wore the same uniform… and had your address.

On June 12th, the Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov steams through the clear waters off the Cuban coast; she is accompanied by the Kazan (a Yassen). And they are not alone, most likely in the North, the Orel (an Oscar) has been quietly hovering in deep water off the Atlantic Coast with her sister ship the Smolensk.

For the Smolensk and her crew, she has been running deep off the Norfolk shelf; and I would even bet a Poseidon overflew her earlier in the morning but missed her. At 250m below the sea, the crew of 97 is eating a comfortable breakfast of Syrniki before the crew’s next shift.

For this Russian crew eating breakfast so close to the American East Coast they are unaware of the crisis that is building through the darkness. Yet, this crew knows precisely why they are there and will carry out their duties without hesitation.

In other words, Lucifer’s Hammer is hanging over Washington’s head.

But of course, the presence of these Russian naval assets is in response to the June 5th, statement by President Biden authorizing missile strikes (inside) Russian territory. And never forgetting Biden’s statement comes right on the heels of Sergey Ryabkov’s warning,

‘I’d like to warn American actors against miscalculations that can lead to fatal consequences. For some unclear reason they underestimate how serious a response they could face,’ Ryabkov told journalists.

What is becoming painfully obvious to everyone, is that as time moves forward, the myth of American National Security is being broken and as we move from one nuclear crisis to the next, the danger of nuclear conflict is being adulterated. In the minds of an average citizen, it no longer feels like a crisis, it feels like normality, when in reality we are close to the end of civilized humanity.

Keeping this in mind, any strike against the American mainland will be a fatality to the American ego and the myth of American in-vulnerability will be broken. And given the psychology of American exceptionalism (and if Washington is not a smoking hole in the ground) the Senators will be storming up and down the Halls calling for escalation and the end of the world.

The Russians, however, have been extremely patient; tolerating everything from explosive drones over Moscow to terrorist attacks at their concert venues. Adding to this, the escalation between the two belligerence has changed once again. Recently, Ukraine has used American missiles to strike the components of the Russian nuclear deterrent— and what many do not understand, this event could have triggered a response from Russia and that’s precisely what the United States wanted.

Right now Russia is winning, if they overreact it will turn into defeat for both sides. In other words, Washington is filled with madmen with nothing to lose.

Even worse, if Russia properly deduces that American genocidal tendencies belie an internal desperation to save the current order from collapse. Russia may believe that nuclear conflict is inevitable and they will need to strike first or lose the element of surprise. Although this scenario is highly unlikely; if Washington’s genocidal policies do not change this could be the inevitable outcome for the United States.

In Novorossiya, the Russian tactics of attrition have been very carefully designed by the Russian Ministry of Defense to deflate the global perception of American military supremacy. For Russia and China, this will be necessary to forward the ambitions of the Belton Road initiative and to replace the American World Reserve Currency system.

By keeping the war static on the Dombass, it becomes a showcase of American military incompetence. From the Congressional insistence on bringing both American and German armor to be destroyed on the line of contact to the following exhibitions of burnt-out Abrams and Leopards being displayed in Moscow, It demonstrates that the United States no longer has the right to have a preeminent position in the global economy.

The objective is to Dethrone the United States of America in a way that keeps the conflict below the nuclear threshold. Not only is the United States being defeated on the battlefield they are experiencing one of the lowest sentiments of patriotism in its history. Military recruitment goals have fallen well below expectations and Washington has just passed a bill that would automatically register men 18-26 for conscription. Russia understands that any draft legislation will be extraordinarily unpopular with the American people and this will drive internal dissent against Washington’s inverted totalitarian structures to the maximum.

This comes to the final point, Washington is its own worst enemy. In January, Anthony Blinken made a very poignant comment about himself at Davos,

‘When you’re walking through hell the best thing to do is keep going’

These are not the words of a man whose confidence in America is glowing. The fact is, that the United States of America is in a deep existential crisis, and every foreign policy decision in Washington has had the opposite effect for the country. Many in Washington view this crisis as some sort of theater, where America always wins in the end, where American leadership subconsciously retreats into a dreamlike state of some farcical Hollywood production. Where much like Plato’s Cave, American children on TikTok create monuments to themselves and retreat into flickering images on small glass screens.

Existing in this dreamlike state, many American people make important decisions for themselves, including military ones. For example, aircraft carriers should have been scrapped long ago and the A-10 should have been taken to the trash heap, yet they remain.

As for foreign policy decisions, Washington should do nothing. Every decision made has the opposite effect. Americans need to learn how to manage their collapse so they come out the other end of it with some sort of semblance of order and economic prosperity.

On the eve of nuclear conflict, the vast majority of Americans remain insouciant and unconcerned. Even worse, the peace movement in the West is static and void of any real leadership. But, there is one man who has taken the slings and arrows for us all to stop a nuclear conflict — Scott Ritter.

This should be no surprise, as Scott has been fighting for peace his whole life. Whether as a weapons inspector fighting against the interagency in Iraq or speaking out against nuclear conflict; it should be clear to anyone where this man’s heart lies: The survival of humanity.

For Scott, fighting for peace in the United States can be a life-threatening endeavor. What we can never forget is the American political economies are structured around the institutions of War. Speaking out against these institutions is a form of heresy and it takes someone of great strength and character to fight through it. And, if you challenge it, they will try to destroy you if they can — right down to the local level.

To understand the American government’s hostility toward Scott is to understand being marked for death.

One shameful example is the ‘Myrotvorets’ list. This is a Ukrainian death list that is funded by the United States government and topping this list is Scott Ritter. In other words, he is an American marked for death on a list that is funded by his own government. Of course, this list can easily be changed by the State Department — yet the list remains.

Keep in mind, this is not the first time the American government has tacitly acquiesced to having Scott marked for death.

In a nutshell, the American judicial system is a farce under the cloak of law. This system has roughly a 98% conviction rate and your innocence or guilt has no relevance; a claim to a crime is all that is required for your fate to be sealed. Without this conviction rate fueled by the courts, the legal industry’s business models would collapse and fail. Therefore, whether you’re a defense attorney, a judge, or a prosecutor; everyone is on board with an unbelievably high conviction rate with a wink and a nod– at the same time espousing the opposite moral pretense.

The Setup

Scott was in an adult chat room talking with other people who had certified that they were adults. Uncoincidentally, one person in the chat room was in law enforcement. Shortly thereafter, this officer claimed that Scott was talking with a minor; only — after — they were involved in conversation.

Of course, the claim against Scott was made under obviously false testimony and was processed through the system with the inevitable outcome — conviction. This has two principal effects: First, Scott is marked for death in prison. Second, it destroys his reputation if he survives the incarceration.

And Just recently, three heavily armed customs officers prevented Scott from boarding a commercial flight to St Petersburg. This was to prevent him from doing his journalistic work at the St Petersburg Economic Forum and force a confrontation with CBP. What most do not understand is that American law enforcement is extremely violent and unpredictable, and if there was even the slightest misunderstanding he could have been shot down on the spot. And guess what? As a reward for this extrajudicial killing, these officers would have been given paid leave and exonerated in the end.

For the leaders that claim to worship at the altar of War, Scott Ritter is the high priest of both War and Peace, and he brings the mirror right to the faces of the usurpers. Make no mistake, the people who hold the reins of power in the United States want this man dead.

Necessity for Exile

Leaving the country you love can be a hallmark of strength of character. Especially if you love your country. By stopping a nuclear conflict, you’re leaving for a greater cause outside of yourself. Many are not aware of the fact that the majority of Russians respect and love Scott’s message of friendship and understanding and many Americans feel the same.

Whereas the power structures within the United States are hostile to Scott’s existence and the ‘Myrotvorets’ list is unrefutable proof of Washington’s outright hostility to Scott as well as their complicity in funding it. This is a death list — nothing more and nothing less and he shouldn’t be expected to reside in a country that is tacitly acquiescing to his death if not flat-out participating in it.

Scott being prevented from boarding the aircraft from New York for İstanbul is the case in point. The State Department had endless ways of stopping Scott from traveling. They could have simply canceled Scott’s passport. Instead, this confrontation was a very carefully scripted event where he was allowed to get right up to the gate of the aircraft; only to be stopped by three heavily armed customs agents. This was specifically designed to elicit an emotional response from Scott. First, they wanted to humiliate Scott and second, by seizing Scott’s passport without due process it inflamed the situation to the maximum effect. This is to provoke a physical confrontation for the purpose of an extra-judicial killing.

Never forget that CBP officials are loyal to no Constitution. Their loyalty lies in their pensions and medical benefits. In my personal opinion, the only thing that matters for these people is getting from one day to the next.

For Scott, this is far beyond any fight with the interagency in Washington or any fight with MCTOG at Twentynine Palms.

This is not just about the persecution of one man, this is about the survival of humanity.

If Russia is giving Scott Ritter a platform to speak out against nuclear conflict. Take it! In doing so, Scott is saving the United States and its people in the process. Russia is giving Scott Ritter the respect and dignity that he deserves.

As former Marines, it is obvious to any military analyst the deep social and military crisis that the United States is currently facing and to save the people you love , sometimes there is a necessity for exile.

“History always emphasizes terminal events” Albert Speer observed mournfully to his American interrogators just after the end of the last World War. Yet, Speer and his American captors had no way of knowing that their fates would be inextricably linked 80 years from then.

Much like then as today, Americans and the Europeans are unaware of the distorted logic in which they have allowed themselves to become ensnared. From the insouciance of an incompetent neoliberal class to the suffering of the urban and rural poor, Americans have been trapped between the terrifying reality of cause and effect. And on the eve of nuclear conflict, they remain blissful and unconcerned.

Still, to stave off financial and military disaster, Washington has escalated the war in Ukraine. This is finding expression through Vladimir Zielinski, who has managed to manacle the Ukrainian nation to him with fear and false promises of unlimited American support.

“As long as we support Ukraine with the weapons they need and economic support they will fight to the last man” Lindsey Graham said in a gesture of criminal folly. For so cold a man, so alien to any sort of humanity it’s fitting that his constituents’ forefathers were the principal beneficiaries of the institution of slavery.

We can never forget that extremes of human suffering can bring out the worst and best in human nature. However, the Americans, weak and faced with their own dissolution have chosen self-annihilation.

“We may go down, but we will take a world with us” Hitler said on New Year’s Day 1945, and, much like the dissolution of the Third Reich, the collapse of the American system mimics the pathologies of a people in defeat. Pathologies of self-destruction and collective suicide find expression in risking nuclear conflict. For the pitiless Graham, damn the torpedoes—full speed ahead!

The Ukrainian Battlefield

On the Don Steppe, decisive defeat is a forgone conclusion for both the Americans and their hapless Ukrainian allies. By now, most members of the Ukrainian National Army must have certainly deduced they were to be thrown senselessly into battle for some symbolic purpose. These conscripts, who have trudged through bleak, snow-covered landscapes have done so without any idea of purpose or direction and many are surrendering en masse.

Meanwhile, as American and Ukrainian leaders are scheming among themselves, the Aveedvka and Ostcheretyne fronts have completely collapsed, as I and others had predicted. This was followed by the Battle of Ychassiw Jar. Here, the Russians are gaining a foothold on the right bank of an artificial channel. This battle is to gain access to the heights just west of Ychassiw Jar; most likely for Russian artillery systems.

In Charkiv, a large Russian formation has assembled to the north. This force is comprised of approximately 400 main battle tanks, 1,000 artillery systems, and 1,100 APCs, and this element is supported by 600 aircraft. In short order, this force gained a foothold to the north of Charkiv and drew the Ukrainian reserve elements into the fight. These are tactics of attrition that I alluded to in November 2022 and the War is now moving into phase 7 – most likely a summer offensive.

NATO Forces Entering Western Ukraine?

A superpower collapse on this scale has never before been seen in history. The American and NATO failures are so immense they seem to have an opaque translucency within society and any decision that Washington makes simply helps with Russian objectives.

To help speed this self-annihilation along, French and Estonian politicians want to send troops into western Ukraine. And, much like NATO, this false unity of loyalty cloaks these adherent functionaries with virtually no military experience aside from their fleeting glimpses of flickering military images through small glass screens. Obsessed with the cult of the self they get lost in their lives of inconsequence and are deeply manipulated by the intelligence services.

On 28 May 2024, French President Macron said he permitted Ukraine to use SCALP missiles to strike targets inside Russia. In response, the Russians started drilling for nuclear conflict in the Southern military district. It can never be forgotten, if the French strike targets inside Russia, then Russia has every legal right to strike targets in France. Adding to this, in a massively destabilizing act, the French president signaled that he was going to send French troops into Western Ukraine, and given the current attritional calculus of the loss of one regiment a day, the French contingent would be hunted down and wiped out in a fortnight. This applies to any NATO force that arrives on the Don.

The Foggy Bottom Suicide Pill

Moving from one moral panic to the next, whether it’s the pandemic, the Russo-Ukrainian War or the genocide in Gaza; the threat of nuclear conflict is being cleverly obscured. To meet this end, the media is filled with a bizarre mix of contradictory information that obscures individual human perceptions. This is to keep the Western neoliberal populations in a perpetual state of insouciance, crisis, and confusion. If this policy of misinformation is even partially successful, this Western counterinsurgency against its populations will allow the United States to continue to escalate a nuclear conflict past the culmination point, and once the culmination point is reached there is no return and nuclear conflict is a foregone conclusion.

The source of nuclear conflict is the United States. It is a society in a deep internal crisis. Economically, the United States is approaching a state of hyperinflation due to the abandonment of the bond markets. Whereas Militarily, the United States is unable to fight a combined arms War, but rather, just a low-intensity conflict. Politically, the United States of America is a deeply polarized society where the judiciary is being used to persecute political opponents and citizens who challenge the inverted totalitarian structures.

Therefore, Russia’s Grand strategy is to liberate itself from the American systems of finance as well as the balance of payments for global oil production. Or what is commonly known as the World Reserve Currency System. In this case, we have reached the culmination point, this system is being ditched and no amount of military force is going to stop this process of abandonment. This is precisely why we are witnessing vast tracts of homelessness and misery in America. As far as Russia and China are concerned, they want no part of this failing system.

Russia is giving Washington a choice: Accept our separation from your dying Empire or we all die in a nuclear holocaust.

The senseless slaughter of Palestinians that resulted from America’s outrageous vanity utterly belies Kissinger’s honesty, ‘”to be an enemy of the US is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal”. The incompetence, the frenzied refusal to accept reality, and the inhumanity of the American regime will be revealed all too clearly in its passing.

As the Caspian Summer turns into late Autumn, a low-hanging mist obscures a cratered landscape from a Russian drone orbiting over the steppes of Zaporizhzhia. Underneath the smoke and fog, lay thousands of burnt-out bullet-ridden wrecks. A graveyard, where the bodies of tens of thousands of Ukrainian Infantry lay strewn across the Battlefield.

On these “Bloodlands”, the Ukrainian dead are unable to be collected due to the fact they exist in a crumple zone that are covered by deep Russian strike elements; and much like the Somme, the rats scour the steppes.

For Ukraine, the war is lost, and there are no more reserve formations. Without any question, this signifies the defeat of NATO and the start of Russian military supremacy in Europe.

To offset this humiliating defeat, the Pentagon has chosen to escalate in the Middle East — at the same time using the dumb-witted Israelis as a proxy to the conflict.

In Gaza, the United States has also chosen to support the wholesale slaughter of innocent Palestinians through American naval and logistical support. This is precisely the support that is facilitating the indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas and the killing of innocent children.

Using classic 15th-century Venetian methodologies, the American goal is to unite the Arab world against Israel and tear the region wide open into a protracted and bitter conflict.

In the short term, this will benefit the United States and disrupt the Belt and Road Initiative. The Belt and Road Initiative is a Sino economic development plan that encompasses over three thousand projects and will have a total cost of seven trillion dollars upon completion. And there is no doubt, the project will logistically unify the entirety of Asia and collectivize 5 billion people into one massive economic block.

The largest project in human history.

The American Descension into Savagery and the Annihilation of Israel

The conflict in Israel has shown to be a fundamental shift in American military doctrine. In the past, the United States had a ceremonial position on the Geneva Conventions. As of now, the mask is off and the United States has transformed into a cabal of lawless savages and is fully endorsing the bombing of civilian areas — a war crime.

What needs to be made clear, if the United States wanted to stop the bombing of Gaza — Washington could easily tell Israel to cease the bombardment. Instead, in a gesture of criminal folly, American Central Command has deployed two carrier strike groups to support the bombing of defenseless Palestinian families.

In response to such a large American force in the region, Russia has deployed MIG-31K’s over the Black Sea to protect the Russian naval facility in Tartus. These strike aircraft are carrying Kinzhal’s and these hypersonic weapons can easily sink both the Ford and the Eisenhower that are currently stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Supporting Russia is the Chinese 44th Naval Task Force that has arrived in the Eastern Mediterranean to support both Russian and Chinese oil interests. This includes the destroyer Zibo, the frigate Jingzhou, and the integrated supply ship Qiandaohu.

In this scenario, we can never forget the words of Henry Kissinger — “To be an enemy of the United States is dangerous but to be a friend is fatal”

And Israel would be wise not to forget these words.

If a conflict breaks out between American, Chinese and Russian forces by error. The state of Israel will be annihilated and laid to waste. It can never be forgotten, that Israel has an “ironclad” defense alliance with the United States and if a conflict breaks out between these two belligerents. Russia will need to assume that the Israeli nuclear arsenal will be deployed against Russian naval assets in Syria.

In a conflict between Russia and the United States, Russian Aerospace Forces will need to immediately eliminate the Israeli nuclear threat. This is due to Jerusalem’s proximity to the Russian Naval Base in Tartus. And this is precisely why, Russian strike aircraft are currently deployed over the Black Sea; they are capable of carrying the nuclear-tipped Kinzhal. A 50-kiloton weapon that will end all the hopes and dreams of both Israelis and Palestinians alike.

There is no defense against these Weapons. Meaning, that Jerusalem and all Israeli command and control facilities will disappear in a cloud of vapour eighty thousand feet into the sky — and Israel will cease to exist. Make no mistake, this is the fate that awaits the holy land.

Of course, many do not understand the logic behind these American tactics. It is very simple, nuclear weapons a very expensive to procure and maintain. In a high-intensity combined arms nuclear war, any alliance with the United States is a death sentence.

The only objective for any American alliance is for Russia to expend its nuclear arsenal on American allies rather than American cities and military assets. In fact, this is the way American military planners view their alliances: For every nuclear weapon used against Finland, Germany or Israel; there is one less nuclear weapon that can be used on Colorado Springs or San Francisco.

In the end, any NATO-American alliance is a dose of cyanide for the nation-state in question — especially Israel.

American Disintegration and Loss of Military Supremacy

For many Americans, this next topic will be difficult to understand. NATO-American interests are collapsing — both economically and militarily. From this moment forward, any new European security frameworks will need to be redefined with Russia — the new European regional power.

We need to accept the reality that Russia has military supremacy in Europe (and thereby) has control over life or death in the Neo-Westphalian system.

As for the United States, most of its major cities are collapsing into chaos and crime. Although much is written about this topic in the States, it rarely receives any attention from people outside of mainland America.

Washington is desperately trying to right the hegemonic ship before it rolls over and sinks. To meet this end, Washington has declared war on the world and anyone who stands against the American Empire.

Including its own citizens.

That is precisely why Americans are experiencing extreme information warfare; along with the desperate attempts by the American government to change Americans perceptions of reality. Even American censorship has failed, and Americans are starting to look upon Washington with dread.

For the American people who are under the iron fist of Washington, American confusion is quickly turning into anger, and not only is Washington battling a lack of confidence within its institutions. Washington is at war with 3/4 of its own population as it condemns its own heartland to poverty, and simultaneously jails any political opposition to what’s left of a collapsing economy.

Washington stands alone at war with the world and its own people.

For the United States military, the depravity of the defense of western Ukraine was not only a military defeat. It was a showcase of NATO military incompetence in both tactical planning and unnecessary loss of life. Not only was NATO armor on fire on the steppes of Novorossiya. It was also a showcase of NATO division and a circus of incompetence that is beyond contestation.

With Russia’s current force ratios and attritional differential calculus. Make no mistake, if Russia had the political will; they would have the necessary force to push all the way to Paris, pushing aside any opposing forces as the Russian spearheads advance. And given this reality, Europe will soon be looking to the BRICS-11 for economic development as the United States simultaneously collapses into a black hole of derivative debt, and with it, Israel.

Israel is Already Defeated

Israel also has serious divisions within its society. In Israel, many Jewish citizens as well as Jewish diaspora condemn the bombing of innocent civilians. Whereas, in the Israeli government (in a sycophantic show of resolution) the Knesset has passed a law forbidding protest under penalty of death.

Not exactly the sign of a real healthy democracy

For the Russians, the Kremlin’s patience is wearing thin. Israel’s bombing of the airfields in Damascus and Aleppo has prompted Moscow to give Iran and Hezbollah the use of the Russian Air Cargo facilities in Hmeimim.

We always need to remember that, “war is an extension of politics by other means”. In this case, Israel has lost the war in the temple and Israel’s brutal Apartide state has been pulled right out into the light kicking and screaming for all to see. For many that have only seen Israel through the false prism of the mainstream media; it is now seen for what it is — a brutal-oppressive state that makes Apartheid South Africa look tame in comparison.

And simply from a military and logistical view, Israel does not have the combined arms elements to wage a long and protracted conflict. Not only is the United States emptying its armories to lost causes. The United States is running low on most of its essential munitions. And even if Israel could wage a protracted campaign on murdering innocent civilians they would run out of stocks of bombs within months.

We can never forget, in the 2006 Lebanese War, Israel lost one Armored Division — striking a blow to Jewish xenophobia. For tanks to be effective they need to be supported by well-trained infantry that is not casualty-averse.

Let’s make this clear — the Israel-Jewish population is not casualty-averse.

Like American law enforcement, they loathe losses and are unable to sustain long-term fights. Policing actions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are not high-intensity conflicts in urban combat. They are policing actions on a defenseless population. Israeli conscripts cannot win against a determined enemy and that is why the IDF was defeated in the Lebanese conflict in 2006.

One thing for sure, Washington’s blood lust is just getting started.

Three years ago, I predicted the defeat of Ukraine. And today, Israel will suffer the same fate. In the end, we can never forget the one fundamental truth of American foreign policy — “To be an enemy of the United States is dangerous but to be a friend is fatal”

Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Kim Jong Un is one of the major turning points in world history. From this moment forward, American sanctions are no more relevant than its disintegrating cities.

In many ways, this gigantic American foreign policy disaster has no equal in American history.

And after this meeting between Russia and North Korea there is no doubt Russia will be sharing its rocket technology with the DPRK. Meaning, that North Korea is now the regional power, supplanting the United States, Japan, and South Korea.

And many people are asking one simple question: How is this state of affairs even possible?

In mid-summer, President Biden hosted a meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. In this meeting, Biden reassured American security guarantees to both countries with rock-solid cooperation.

Then, 30 days later…

President Putin invited Kim Jong Un to Russia. On this trip, Kim took his armored train on the Baranovsky–Khasan line that connects both Russia and North Korea. In the past, these elegant trains were leftovers from the totalitarian age. These trains included flak batteries and newly installed electronic countermeasures.

When Kim arrived, He met with President Putin, and they both took a tour of Vostochny Cosmodrome; Russia’s most important satellite launch facility. Kim was also invited to Primorsky Aquarium where he seemed to reflect a child-like enthusiasm for the Dolphins and Walrus there.

After leaving, Kim Jong Un laid the groundwork for both security and trade guarantees. From this moment forward, not only does North Korea have the ability to strike Japan and South Korea with its arsenal of 40 low-yield nuclear weapons. North Korea now has the ability to strike Seattle, San Francisco. Los Angeles and San Diego.

Now we have to ask one very simple question. Is the United States going to come to the aid of the smoking ruins of South Korean cities? Or sacrifice Osaka for San Diego? Or sacrifice Seattle for Seoul?

The answer is obvious.

Of course, this new reality wasn’t lost on Japan. Fumio Kishida called Kim Jong Un and asked for an immediate meeting with no preconditions. Meaning, that Japanese relations with the United States went right into a black hole.

In this state of affairs, positive American relations make no difference, regardless.

Although Western Civilization is very culturally powerful. We are now at a point in history where the United States has no more military or economic relevance than Canada or Brazil.

Many say America has aircraft carriers, nuclear weapons and the strongest air force in the world. It does not matter. America can not fight a combined arms high-intensity conflict. This state of affairs is not at some point in the future. It has already happened.

Many will say, “We can work to resolve the problems”

No.

American problems are unresolvable and the sun has already set.

The dollar is in the process of abandonment, sanctions are ineffective, and military force is irrelevant. The best we can hope for is that the United States starts to manage its collapse more efficiently.

The American sanctions regimes are dead and they are not coming back.

Will the Russian nuclear arsenal function? As of late, this seems to be one of the most misplaced questions of our time.

Therefore the question is, ‘Will the enemy’s nuclear arsenal operate as designed and is it a legitimate threat and will the warheads detonate?’

First, to understand this critical question you need to have good intelligence. Specifically, a human asset within the Russian strategic rocket forces or the hydrogen weapons development program. Of course, on the surface, this person sounds like one of the most valuable human assets since the Red Rabbit.

However, there is a problem with this reasoning. The problem is, the Russians will already assume that the enemy has human assets in all of their nuclear programs; even if there are none at all. Therefore, the Russians need to have a credible nuclear deterrent as the highest priority. You can be sure, the Russians will expend whatever resources are needed to ensure a credible nuclear deterrent is realized. Otherwise, the Americans would have already exploited the vulnerability long ago and Russia would have never invaded Ukraine.

Second, is the Russian nuclear delivery systems credible? To start with, the RT-2PM2 Topol-M is the most advanced mobile ICBM launch platform in history, And this should not be a surprise to anyone. The Russian space flight program has had a perfect operational history for the last 25 years. Adding to the weight of this assertion, the Russian space flight program was audited by NASA for the use of manned space flights for Americans. And at least for the people that can remember, this was to the unfettered joy of the American bureaucracy at the time; due to the loss of the shuttle program.

Not only does the Topol-M have the ability to launch over the northern polar region. Amazingly the Topol-M has the ability to launch over the southern polar region as well.

And finally, let’s now come to the reductio and absurdum and put an end to the nuclear functionality debate. We can never forget, this is not a new question and there was a solution 65 years ago.

It starts with the premise that a percentage of the Russian nuclear Arsenal is nonfunctional. In our example, let’s use the extraordinarily high warhead failure rate of 40%. What is the solution to the problem? You simply deliver 3 bombs per target. In this example, let’s assume the Russians are targeting missile silos in the Dakotas. In this case, each site will be hit with 3 to 4 hydrogen-tipped MIRVs per target. This applies to Colorado Springs, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, (and yes you guessed it) New York City. All will disappear in a cloud of vapor 80,000 ft into the sky — guaranteed.

Therefore the Russian nuclear functionality debate is — dead and buried

Every time the dump-shits in Washington escalate tensions with Russia in some stinking location. Washington is simply picking up the metaphorical revolver, opening the cylinder, placing one round in the chamber, and closing it. Cocking the hammer and then spinning the cylinder. Placing the dam barrel to their heads, and then pulling the metaphorical trigger. They do this with every tank they deliver and every drone that collides with a Muscovite apartment block. And eventually…

…Washington is going to run out of luck.

What do you think of people that would play Russian Roulette? It’s the definition of insanity, isn’t it? And because of American reserve currency concerns, Washingtonians are acting like desperate fools at the end of their pitiful ropes. And in many ways the Jackals in Washington are playing Russian Roulette with the American and European people’s lives every time they escalate tensions with Russia.

In many ways, ‘Wishful Thinking’ is a perfectly reasonable response in these circumstances. Everything from the Congressional hearings on UFOs to the belief that the Russian nuclear Arsenal is non-functional. Or another way of looking at this is the belief in the ‘Pygmalion Effect’ in times of crisis. You could see this effect in Berlin at the end of World War Two and you can see it now in the United States Congress.

Especially with the hearings on the reverse engineering of alien technology. The ruse of reverse engineering of alien technology is pure insanity and it is leading to more and more irrational decisions by an American leadership that is becoming more and more disconnected from physical reality.

The idea that the Russian nuclear arsenal is filled with duds is a story for small children. Much like blowing out the candles on a birthday cake.

Every empire in history has had a parallel state within a state.

There are no exceptions…

To start with, Roman methodologies of the maxim of divide et impera did not die with the Roman Empire in 470. Nor did Roman methodologies end when Constantinople was captured by the Turks in 1453. During the 1000 years between this time, these methods were passed on to the Venetians. They, in turn, passed these intergovernmental ways on to the French, and British. The British passed these methods on to the Americans.

What are these methods?

There are many, but we are going to focus on two Venetian methodologies. First, is the idea of a parallel state-within-a-state. Secondly, the maxim of divide and rule. In other words, if you were to bring back King Philip II, Augustus, Julius Caesar, or Gasparo Contarini of Venice, they would all understand what is happening in Western Society today and feel at home.

Therefore, this being the case, when looking at the September 11th event we need to examine a parallel state-within-a-state, the maxim of divide and rule, and events that are made to manipulate and destabilize through words and events.

In many ways, nation-state synthetic terror events can be extremely complex, opaque, and effective in a postmodern world. The reason these practices are effective is that we live in a nihilistic existential reality that obscures individual human perceptions. In many ways, the universe that surrounds the individual person is so complex that they need to be told how to perceive reality. And to understand the September 11th event, we need to understand what was happening a week before the attacks in NYC.

To start with, two weeks before September 11th. Starting on about September 2nd, the 10th Strategic Air Command was in a massive Armageddon exercise in the northern polar region. On this day, both B1 Lancers and B-52’s were loaded with hydrogen weapons and orbiting over the North Pole. Running in tandem to counter this American threat. The Russian 37th Air Army was in the largest exercise since 1993.

As Russia was observing these Armageddon exercises running in the far North. Russian army command understood that the United States was using both Global Guardian and Vigilant Guardian to mask for a first strike against their country. The United States is mobilizing for nuclear war and is ready for a first strike.

It is now September 11th, and as the proceeding planes are colliding with the Pentagon and World Trade Centers. NORAD is at its highest level of readiness and is ready for nuclear war

As this nuclear crisis is unfolding, the preceding shock of the events in NYC has completely confused the public’s perceptions of reality. In very short order, Russian strategic planners realize Russia can be blamed for the September 11th event and America can easily turn world support against them. If Russia is blamed, they will already be on their back foot and will have lost the war in “the temple”. Therefore Armageddon is the only option for Russia―they no longer have the capacity to mount a conventional campaign.

Adding to the American advantage, US airspace is now closed due to the the colliding aircraft in NYC and Washington. Consequently, NORAD can more easily identify any Russian flying objects over the North Pole for possible interception.

And God only knows what the exchange of language was between Putin and Bush when an obscure terrorist organization was blamed for the incident.

What is happening on September 11th, 2001? The American Parallel State ​is launching the war of civilizations. When talking about this subject, to understand what is happening we need to move away from New York City and look at what is happening, militarily. Generally speaking, the effects that we observed in NYC that day were just a small part of a much wider military campaign that had a nuclear component structured into the event.

It is very common, in both the modern and postmodern eras for nation-states to commit attacks upon their own populations to unify support to a cause.

For example, in 1939 the Gleiwitz incident was the German justification for the invasion of Poland. In fact, it was a part of a series of attacks that were along the German-Polish border committed by the SS. Then publicized within the German mainstream sphere.

Hitler had told his generals on 23 August — “I will provide a propagandistic casus belli. Its credibility doesn’t matter. The victor will not be asked whether he told the truth”.

Of course, the scale of this false flag was so insignificant it did not have any effect at all, and both France and the United Kingdom declared war forthwith. Now, in 2021, these synthetic terror events are losing their effectiveness. Now it seems pandemics and mass censorship are in vogue.

We can never forget, in this current political structure, we can believe whatever we want. If you believe September 11th was a false flag on a vast scale never before seen in history, that’s fine. You can even believe the official version of the event is true; it doesn’t really make any difference. Its credibility is irrelevant and the Parallel State does not care what you or I think. It is subject to prosecution by no one and this body of interest will define what reality is.

Hence, it is an oligarchy that is the military-industrial complex and it controls the vast majority of energy interests, globally. Its goal is unchallenged military supremacy and to meet that end it will use whatever methods necessary — including nuclear war. What we all must understand is the population will be sacrificed to meet these ends if necessary.

Information about military activity on September 11th is blocked by National Security. Therefore, we have to speculate about what happened on that day given the information that is public.

On the morning of September 11th, 2001— Before, the planes struck the trade centers NORAD was ready for nuclear war (and) drilling to support the start of nuclear conflict.

Meaning, that the United States was one step away from Nuclear War before the planes struck in New York City. Additionally, Strategic Air Command (SAC) was drilling for Global Guardian and Vigilant Guardian. These joint exercises are defending against Russian bomber attacks.

Also, on September 11th there was a STRATCOM drill defending against a “bad insider”. The drill was contriving a bad insider​ that has key access to C3 systems that could have an ICBM​ launch option​.

Think about what this means, simply change the drill “one dial to the left” and you have a “bad insider”​ that (can) launch the missiles. Of course, that gives the parallel faction the ability to launch if the president is dead or unwilling.

Well before the morning of September 11th, the US military is on the edge of nuclear war. A war that has a conduit through approximately forty-six drills. The largest concentration of drills in American history.

Historically, September 11th drove Russia and the United States right to the edge of a nuclear catastrophe. As the event unfolded the Russians needed to assume this is a false flag on a scale so far removed from normal reality that it’s almost impossible to believe. It does not matter if real terrorists attacked the United States the Russians have to assume the opposite is true and the Americans are responsible for attacks on their own territory. The Russians probably already knew about what was going to happen―not the outcome. But, what we must understand is that the Russians must assume that the US military is responsible for the attacks— they have no choice.

The most important thing the September 11th attacks do for SAC and NORAD is it clears the sky so that NORAD can identify any Russian flying objects without being confused with normal commercial or private aircraft.

Second, comes the American demand for Russia. It (may have) sounded something like this — “we are going into Afghanistan and Iraq and if you try and stop us we are going to war”.

That is why you need to assume that all US forces are at DEFCON 1. The Americans have the initiative they’re ready for nuclear war.

Third, the loss of life is so extreme that both the American and global communities have an outpouring of support as well as sympathy for the new war on terror and the United States.

What we need to always remember, that the tragedy in New York was just a small event compared to what could have happened on that day 22 years ago.

The only thing we know about September 11th is the effects observed in New York City, and this is just a small part of a much wider part of an American military exercise that encompassed approximately forty-six drills — on the day of. As well as a high probability for war over the next 3 years that followed the event.

Many will ask, where are the 3 branches of government? What about American leadership? The reality is, they are just there as figureheads and will do exactly what they are told.

Here we can see President Bush just 5 minutes after he was told about the planes crashing into buildings in NYC. They said, “He was trying to project power” No, I see a man that is fucking terrified. And due to the sheer scale of what’s happening, the secret service should have immediately taken him away and protected him. Instead, he is being kept in the open like my “Pet Goat”. Being brought out on a leash for a sacrifice. That in itself was a scandal. Obviously, he was figurehead president and a puppet.

Adding to the threat against the president during the morning of September 11th. There was a half-hearted assassination attempt against him on the morning before the “Pet Goat” reading.

Then, when the President lifted off from Sarasota, Florida in Air Force One. The pilot, Colonel Mark Tillman received a threat over an encoded channel, with a very simple message, “Angel Is Next“.

At that point, Jacksonville Center communicated, “Angel One you have traffic behind you and basically above you that is descending into you, we are not in contact with them — they have shut their transponder off”.

Colonel Tillman said he changed course and flew over the Gulf of Mexico and called for fighter support. The contact did not follow Air Force One. The parallel faction is communicating to the president―"hello sunny boy, you are going to do what you’re told today" .

The Parallel State that committed the September 11th attacks is still in power. When we examine the synthetic terror events in Norway or France— they are very minor compared to what could have happened to these countries.

In the United States, there was a social movement called 911 Truth. Over time, this movement never really gained wide support.

The truth is, subconsciously, Americans really love their military and the power that it projects— especially the clandestine services. There is a romantic component connected to the intelligence services in America. There are many books and feature films about this narrative that have wide appeal in America. The cultural reality is the September 11th attacks fit into the American need for violence and intrigue ​that Oliver Stone writes about.

A conspiracy surrounding the September 11th event is what Americans expect to hear. They want to call it out, and say, “we know the government is lying” when in reality there is a deep pride in the psyche of the average American regarding the power of the military. Watching aircraft crashing into skyscrapers in New York City is deeply satisfying to many Americans in the Deep South. Many of these Americans have long-standing resentments from the civil war and even though they may communicate regret regarding 911 that is not what they are feeling, subconsciously.

Like no other culture in the world, Americans look at violence as a cleansing agent. Whereas, if you are in Japan, France, Germany, or Switzerland — suicide would be the preferred method of violence. In America, violence is an outward manifestation. Even the numbers 911 can be identified with by calling 911 emergency services in the United States. Indeed, the planning for September 11th was well-thought-out.

It captures the psychological needs of Americans. As well as primes the US military for war against the world or the clash of civilizations. For the people that don’t believe in this narrative — it does not matter what we think. In fact, the Parallel State wants you to have doubts about what happened that day. It communicates to you (subconsciously) as the person that you have no power. That you need to fear the state. For the select few that can see through the event for what it is — we are alone in an existential universe and left to suffer in a shadow of nihilism.

For the sake of absurdity, let’s review one aspect of the physical and technical impossibilities of September 11th

The Hani Hanjour Maneuver

How can we know that we are dealing with synthetic terror events?

The question is very simple, can the people or person that the government claims produce the effects that you see? For example, can Hani Hanjour with 20 hours of flight experience, after the stress of hijacking a 757, navigate his way to the Pentagon. And then, with Blue Angel precision, dive his aircraft in a descending 330° corkscrew turn– 7000 feet, straight down over the Pentagon at 500 knots. Miraculously level his aircraft out, ending with the Boeing one-centimeter off the grass to collide with the Pentagon at the appropriate angle.

Hani Hanjour Some Say It Couldn’t Be Done

It does not matter what Hanjour’s criminal intent was. It doesn’t matter if he hated the United States…

…It’s absurd.

And an insult to your intelligence to assume Hanjour can fly at this level.

We will not review all the physical and technical impossibilities of September 11th. Lending credence to a terrorist attack on September 11th is a mockery. However, you can review it at AE911Truth.

Finally, to understand postmodern synthetic terror events, you have to understand military exercises and drills. Keeping this in mind, something really ambitious like September 11th needs a conduit through the bureaucracy to succeed. This is so that you can co-opt the moles that you need to help you with the event. These moles come in many forms.

For example, we know for certain the Air Force was in a Global Guardian exercise during September 11th to simulate nuclear war. If the US military is in this scenario, at any moment the drill can go live. For example, Global Guardian turns into Global (Thunder). Meaning nuclear war becomes real. Also, during September 11th they were drilling for hijacked planes. This involved NORAD artificially placing a signature on the radar. In the minds of the people managing this, It creates ghostly objectivity for the people looking at the systems. Is this a simulation or is this war? In fact, that was the very question that a controller asked on September 11th.

How is it possible so many commissioned officers are silent? This is due to the over-classification of operations within the Pentagon. For example, most if not all work with nuclear weapons is completely classified. Talking about it will trigger prosecution under National Security Laws. Even something as petty as a general saying that he is going to play golf — will be marked (classified). Sharing this information in anyway shape or form can land you in hot water. You will end up in Edward Snowden’s position. Edward Snowden is a poster child to everyone that wants to speak out. In other words, if the US government breaks the law and you speak out they will prosecute you. That is the parallel state-within-a-state.

And many will say — “how can the United States Keep something so large a secret?”

This is not something new to American defense planners.

Simply examine the Manhattan Project. This highly classified program had over 130,000 people working on the development of nuclear weapons. It was kept completely secret.

The September 11th event is significant, but, small in comparison.

The notion of UFOs has been floating around Washington for some time. This has also been coupled with the idea that the United States has reverse-engineered this technology and it will be ready for use at some undetermined date.

And guess what? Apparently that time has come.

We now have a group of whistleblowers that seem to have confirmed that the American government has been harboring Alien technology. Great! But, lets ask two very fundamental questions:

If these relativistic craft do exist, they would have even a higher SAP classification than nuclear weapons. Talking about this subject in any form with land you in very very hot water. So why are these whistleblowers allowed to walk free?

And not to mention…

If these objects can traverse thousands of light-years at relativistic speeds. Why would this transcendent technology just crash on Earth? (laughing)

But I think what is more amazing than anything else is what an extraordinarily bad idea this kind of distraction is. That someone in government thought this farce would have some kind of positive effect.

I think another good question is, what kind of audience was this military deception aimed at anyway? Is it Russia? China? The Western people? I can tell you this, Russia and China are not deceived.

That leaves us with Western society.

And unfortunately, that fact alone should be disturbing on many levels. It shows that many American people are so disconnected from reality that they believe that America has alien technology that has been reverse-engineered to save them from what is a military and social disaster.

This is not unheard of in history. The German V-Weapons projects had the same psychological effects as the idea of extraterrestrial technology. From the V-1 flying bomb to the V-2 missile. To many Germans at the time, this probably seemed like magic to the semi-illiterate peasantry. V-Weapons projects, high in propagandistic value with no military significance. A feeling of winning when you’re actually losing.

Also, what can’t be missed, is-in the bazaar way the UAP narrative is being communicated. You have American government officials communicating the existence of intelligence — beyond Earth. It should be one of the greatest scientific discoveries in history. Yet, the entire subject is dropped by the media within a week. And without missing a beat, the mainstream moves onto the next moral panic — whatever that is.

We can never forget, 6.84 billion people in the world have smartphones with relatively good-quality cameras. I have yet to see one credible video of any relativistic craft — such as the (so-called) Tick-Tac UAP.

In Congress this week, there was a hearing regarding this subject. And what could not be missed, was the audience sitting behind the witnesses. The witnesses were comprised of former Air Force and Navy flight officers.

And the audience was comprised of people leaning forward on the edge of their seats, glued to every word of the testimony — (as if) at any moment a light was going to shine down on to the capital dome and everyone was going to be given infinite knowledge.

You could almost tell what these people were thinking — My God, the day has come! Our beliefs in extraterrestrials have now been vindicated!

WE…are vindicated…

Why do Americans want to believe in Aliens anyway?

To answer this question, we have to understand these kinds of beliefs tend to be prevalent in collapsing societies. For example, when Berlin was entering its final stages of disintegration in 1945. Many Berliners thought the “Wunderwaffens” were going to save them, just as the canon was going to save Constantinople. In both cases, it was just a technological fantasy to give hope where there was no hope at all.

In America’s case, what will save the day is a fictional technology that does not even exist. In fact, Americans are so thoroughly confused by the bizarre myriad of mixed messages; objective reality seems more and more out of reach.

This is not by accident, the more overwhelmed Americans are with irrelevant and confusing information. The less resistant Americans are to what is being done to them.

The extraterrestrial question is a case in point. It leads the subconscious mind into a false sense of security. That even if our large cities are descending into chaos and we are being defeated in NATO. We still have secret weapons made of alien technology that can twist the very fabric of space and time.

And thus, we are saved!
