Not “Age" Limits.  TERM LIMITS!

Listen to a Bernie Sanders speech then watch a "Pedophile in Chief” rant at one of his rallies.

They're both old.  One is brilliant and articulate.  The other is a demented, orange moron!

That said, the conversation about “term limits" shouldn't be about age.

I'm almost 80 but my tiny brain still functions.  Bernie is 84 but he could debate a 30 year old MAGAt and win. 

t-Rump is a racist FELON and conman with obvious dementia.

It's not always about age.  My argument about "TERM LIMITS” is about CHARACTER.  Give a United States Senator a term or two.  That's 6 or 12 years.  If he or she does a good job for their constituents, allow them to run again.  If they have used their position to grift and use insider trading to get obscenely wealthy while hiding from constituents, STOP their reign of GREED and incompetence and kick them back into the cesspool of other sycophantic billionaires!

Then there's the Supreme Court.  There should absolutely be “Term Limits" there.  Lifetime appointments by a politician doesn't guarantee "Justice,” it guarantees what's happened with people like Thomas and Roberts!  The Supreme Court has become the "Obscene Court" because of Moscow Mitch McConnell and

t-Rump!  

Stop this insanity!  Limit the damage that can be done by a greedy grifter by limiting the time they're allowed to have power.

I'm hearing arguments lately about “BAD" Democrats.  My response is always:  “First let's get rid of the racists, pedophiles and nazis, THEN we can get rid of the "Bad” Democrats!”

Term Limits could help.  I don't give a single fvck how old Bernie is as long as he's articulate and brilliant.  I do care when I watch the Mango Mussolini slur his words and require a sycophantic child “girlfriend" to wipe his diarrhea A$$ and change his Depends.

Supreme Court Justices shouldn't be there to become rich!  They're supposed to honor the Constitution and protect the "Rule of Law” from a Faux King!

Let's Make America Great “FINALLY!"  Not Again!

The Titanic was “unsinkable" but wound up at the bottom of the Atlantic.  The United States of America has hit the Republican iceberg and is foundering in a sea of corruption, incompetence and Greed!

This midterm election will determine whether she sinks or limps into port for repairs.

The world is watching.  We, the decent, empathetic, patriotic citizens will decide whether she stays afloat.

VOTE out EVERY Republican!  In order to get rid of the “Bad" Democrats, WE MUST survive long enough to make it to port for needed repairs.

Don't stop fighting.  Don't stop protesting.  Don't stop writing.  Don't stop speaking truth to power!  VOTE!

I've read about “rogue waves" a hundred feet high rolling ships over. Suddenly, the four foot swells of your peaceful voyage, become a giant surprise through the porthole.

Like in the movie, "Poseidon Adventure,” its an instant reminder of the fury of nature!

Well, this morning I experienced a similar, yet smaller shock: while looking in the mirror brushing my teeth, I noticed a shocking reality of old age! A rogue “eyebrow!"

There, among my remaining, normal length, eyebrows, suddenly appeared an inch long, grey intruder! Hanging ominously in front of my right eye! I braced myself and asked my wife to pluck it for me.

Beware the tragic consequences of being 80! The mirror is no longer the friend it was when I was 20.

Just a friendly warning to my fellow octogenarians:

"Stay away from mirrors!” 😊

The Greatest of ALL Time?!  Most claims of being “The Greatest" at ANYTHING are hyperbole.  But I've lived long enough to have witnessed three.

I've posted before about meeting and shaking hands with Muhammad Ali.  That post was probably over a year ago now but that experience was one of the most profound of my life.

I'm sure some of t-Rump’$ MAGAt racists will deny Ali's claim of being: "The GREATEST of ALL Time!”  But he WAS!

In 1973, I was a cab driver in Las Vegas.  I've posted about that too.  I met many celebrities.  Some, like Ali, left positive impressions.  Others were drunks, a$$holes and people who weren't anything like their images on the screen.

One day, I picked up a guy at the airport and took him around town to every sport's book in the city.  I asked what was up?  He said he was from New York and was laying off bets on a horse he said would win the Triple Crown.  It had been decades since that had happened but he told me to watch a horse named: Secretariat.  Turns out,  he was right!

I watched as Secretariat won the Kentucky Derby.  Then he won the Preakness.  But I, like everyone who watched, was amazed by what happened at the Belmont Stakes!

Those two examples of greatness are branded in my brain.

Now, we come to the third of my lifetime:  t-Rump!  He's the GREATEST embarrassment to the United States of America in our 250 year history!  He claims he was at the top of his class at Wharton.  Only if the scale is inverted!  

He may be the Greatest LIAR of ALL time!  He's probably in the top ten of famous pedophiles!  

So there you have my nominees for: "The Greatest of ALL time!”

Two truly great athletes and one GREAT criminal pedophile who's conned enough sycophants to gain access to OUR Whitehouse TWICE!

As a devout atheist, I ain't much of a believer in miracles but if you've never heard Jelly Roll sing, you're in for a treat.

I just listened to his tribute to Dolly Parton on “Jimmy Kimmel Live" last night and my wife asked me if he could sing.

I said:  "don't you remember on “Tulsa King" when his voice shocked Stallone?  I pulled up his "Thorns” video and played it for her.

Not only is his voice a miracle, his life is a miracle:

I was devastated yesterday when I heard about Dolly Parton’s death.  I posted this note:

Her true belief in religion makes me wish there was a heaven so she could go there.

Dolly was an inspiration and such a massive talent that I can't imagine ANYONE not loving her.  But her secret that made her what she was was her sincerity and genuineness!

She was the poster child for the old saying:  "what you see is what you get.”  There wasn't a phony bone in her body!  She, like Jelly Roll, had what I like to call, a SOUL.

When I post here every day about t-Rump, Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, et. al. and the other “SOULLESS" Republican sycophants who cower and kneel before their orange Faux King, that missing "SOUL” is what allows them to look into the cameras and the faces of their constituents and LIE so easily!  That missing “$OUL" is what allows them to support a pedophile while claiming “Family Values!" 

Sometimes when I write these posts, they take on a life of their own and briefly veer off at an unseen “fork in the road" like this one.

My hatred and disgust for

t-Rump and what he's done to this country I have served and loved for nearly 80 years, jumps in front of my tribute to two spectacular people and makes me swerve into a rant about those pathetic cowards when I should be praising the true heroes from the beginning.

I apologize for this side trip.  Now, back to the real reason I picked up my phone and started writing this:

In my mind and heart, there's a special place for people who overcome hardship and manage to thrive in a world that doesn't often reward them with success and happiness.  Most of us who weren't smart enough to be born with wealthy parents, never make it to the top.  We're doomed to the “working three jobs to survive" existence of anonymity.

But sometimes, somehow, a special “SOUL" is granted entry into that world where angels sing and clouds are lined with gold.  That, in my tiny, atheist brain is a miracle!

Jelly Roll is like Dolly.  A sincere, genuine person who pulled himself back from the cliff that claimed so many, like Janis Joplin, John Belushi, John Candy, etc., and managed to pave a new road to success and admiration from a public which, with good reason, has become so skeptical and suspicious because they watch EVERY single day as people like Elon (Nazi Salute) Musk and donnie (Two Dolls) t-Rump become rich and famous with lies, deception, crime and greed!

At times like this, I understand why ancient man created religion.  People like Dolly Parton and Jelly Roll make me wish there was a “Heaven and Hell" to reward and punish those with and without that thing I call: “a soul!" 

If you have time today, go find Jelly Roll’s “Thorn" video.  It has a great line:  “Every thorn has its Rose!" 

I know I do.  I don't deserve one, but somehow I got one.

Maybe miracles DO happen.  It will be a miracle if enough red state folks realize what's happening and vote in November to turn us off this “Thelma and Louise" road before we go off the inevitable cliff of nuclear destruction.

There was a "Righteous Brothers” song called: “I Believe" where the incomparable voice of Bobby Hatfield sings about "miracles.”  Find that one too if you have time today.

Whether you're a "Believer” or a skeptical heathen like me, let's take a day to praise people like Dolly and Jelly Roll and use your mind and "SOUL” to explore the MIRACLE that is the United States of America.

Let's join hands and sing the old spiritual: “We Shall Overcome."  Because, as I've written before, in the words of Aesop's Fable and others in the past who had SOULS:  “United we Stand, Divided we Fall!" 

Joe Biden and other great Americans have said:  "Together, there's NOTHING Americans can't accomplish.”  He and they were right.  That's why I plead with you every day with my humble words to fight, protest, write, speak and VOTE.  Because…

We MUST win this WAR for the SOUL of the United States of America!

I'm a left of center Democrat.  Probably more left than center.  I believe it's a woman's choice whether or not to have an abortion.  I believe the electoral college is an antiquated process put in place when every state had a thousand people.  I believe EVERY American should have health care like EVERY other developed nation on earth.  I'm not a racist or Nazi!

All that said, I was very unhappy when Gavin Newsom, on his first podcast, met with the antithesis of me:  Charlie KKKirk!  The theory that meeting with a racist might gain him a few Republican votes in 2028 was a mistake and I wrote about it then.  Losing 1,000 Democrat votes to gain ONE Republican vote is a “net loss!" 

I feel the same way about Jeffries meeting with Kushner.  Rubbing against a rabid dog will not only give you his fleas, but the bite of his criminal, foaming mouth will infect you with hydrophobia!  

(Hydrophobia is an advanced clinical sign of a rabies virus infection that causes severe, painful throat spasms when a person tries to swallow liquids.)

I'll still be okay with President Newsom and Speaker Jeffries until they begin foaming at the mouth and biting democracy.

As I've argued before, first let's get rid of the racists, Nazis and pedophiles AND the soulless, cowardly Republicans in the House and Senate who kneel before this Faux King cockroach THEN we can begin to weed out the " bad” Democrats like Fetterman.

When you're drowning as a nation and the Titanic ship of state is taking on too much water to stay afloat, let's ALL crawl into the life raft of Democratic leadership and bail until stability replaces the fate of the original Titanic!

Like everyone else, I've watched with interest and an occasional smile the relationship of the Mango Mussolini and his adoring concubine, Natalie.

Her love letters and uncontrollable adoration of her orange Faux King is mystifying! Having her face surgically changed to be the image of his daughter, Ivanka, was shocking.

But when I saw THIS picture:

I immediately thought it was not a planned shot.

Did anyone else instantly think about the resemblance to THIS character?!:

It's been all over the media how poor little Natalie can't sleep or eat since the world found out about their “Love Story."

From riding in the trunk during a motorcade to sleeping in the locker room of his golf course, she'll do ANYTHING to be close to the 80 year old pedophile.

Who could have guessed that a young, blonde woman could be so enamored with the decaying corpse of a con man wearing a dead animal on his head?!

It even brought Melania, the "First Hooker," out of hiding.

When will this horror movie end?! Or is it the first ”Horror/RomCom?!”

I'm not a lawyer.  I've written and told "Lawyer jokes.”  Like these:

Air Force Major Jason Watson is a hero!  

It's a testament to his courage that he faces punishment and the wrath of the Orange Bone Spurs COWARD for standing up against the absolute EVIL of the Pedophile in Chief!

Watson has served for 17 years in the United States Air Force.  He could face dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of pay and possible imprisonment for his stand against t-Rump and Kegsbreath for their war crimes and mass murders.

His speech on the Capitol steps was inspiring to me and should be to every decent, patriotic American.

Pay attention to this story, folks!  It's a snapshot of patriotism and bravery we see far too little of these days!

There's a rumble in my heart when I hear TAPS!  Even when it's during a fictionalized TV show or movie.  It's played at the funeral of a veteran like me and the millions of others who have served.

They fold the flag and hand it to our surviving spouse or family member as a reminder that we did something once.

I have my dad's flag and a framed discharge and service medals.  

That fluttering rumble brings tears to my eyes because it brings back memories I've spent almost 60 years trying to forget.

I just watched an episode of “Law and Order" about some Vietnam veterans and they played TAPS during a funeral.

I don't know how this kind of post affects my subscribers.  Is it too personal?  Do I seem like a wimp?

My generation of MEN weren't supposed to cry or "FEEL” like I do at times like this.

The things I saw and did in Vietnam are branded into my soul.  I believe every veteran, to some degree, deals with some level of PTSD.

I've been working on a book about it for years and I've decided to finally try to get it published before I die and my words get tossed out with other boxes of my life.

This post is a comparison of my feelings when I hear TAPS compared to t-Rump’$ obscene “dance" when they play “YMCA" at his cult's rallies.

I was at a Veteran's Day parade once and heard a couple of teenagers talking about how old we all were.  That inspired this sonnet:

A silver haired man in a uniform

With his cracking voice and glistening eyes

Recalls the thunder of a battle’s storm

As stars and stripes ripple in azure skies.

The anthem’s sweet wavering melody

Rides through ruffling leaves on a gentle breeze

Observing the scene, my child on my lap,

t-Rump ever served or respected a veteran.  He calls us “suckers and losers!"  He said THIS about John McCain:

This post, like many of my others, is my attempt to express my disgust and hatred for this despicable COWARD!

I'll continue to do this work EVERY day as long as I breathe because the absolute EVIL of this pathetic Bone Spurs COWARD continues to do that obscene dance in front of his brainwashed cult. 

He feels NOTHING when TAPS is played!  He feels nothing when he's told about the people who have died or been wounded during his WAR in Iran which was started and continues for ONE reason:  to take attention away from the evidence against him in the Epstein Files.

Sailors and Marines aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln don't matter to him.  He said their current tour was “Not nearly LONG enough!" 

Well, donnie, your tour has been “Much too long!"  

As a devout atheist, I pray that you have to pay for ALL your war crimes and mass murder.  Kegsbreath, Patel, Bondi, Blanche, et. al. Should ALL face justice for their crimes.

These are the thoughts this disabled Vietnam veteran had tonight after hearing TAPS on a TV show.

I hope it's not too emotional or personal for my loyal readers.  You ALL mean a lot to me and I am grateful for each and every one of you.  Thank you for allowing me to vent every day.

I'll keep doing it because we MUST win this WAR against the absolute EVIL of t-Rump and his sycophants.

The United States of America is in existential DANGER!  Voter apathy is NOT an option in November!  We need EVERY decent, sane, patriotic American to VOTE!

2024 was what happens when Democrats don't vote.  But we need EVERYONE who now realizes the absolute EVIL of t-Rump to use their right to vote to stop this narcissistic, convicted felon, pedophile grifter from completing his goal of dismantling 250 years of progress!

Some Republicans and Independents are finally waking up to the greed and incompetence of t-Rump and his sycophantic billionaires.

Kegsbreath says:  “We provide every sailor, every captain on every ship with EVERYTHING they need?!"  While he spends millions of your tax dollars enjoying lobster dinners every night!

I remember being “on duty" for 4 consecutive days and nights during the TET Offensive in 1968.  Grabbing a few minute nap on the floor between choppers full of wounded and dead!  96 hours straight!  Not 9 months without a break!  

Those people serving aboard the Lincoln are the human guinea pigs in t-Rump’$ and Kegsbreath’s experiment of “WAR Fighting!"  They don't need more testosterone, petey!  They need a fvckin BREAK!  They need some respect!  They need a President and Secretary of Defense who give a fvck about the mental health of those who serve!

The old saying about "the straw that breaks the camel's back" may be the shortage of toothpaste and shower soap for these people.  If the felonies, pedophelia, incompetence and obsession with installing his name on EVERY fvcking THING in Washington DC hasn't cost

This old, disabled Vietnam veteran who writes here EVERY day as long as I breathe, feels compassion for the sailors and Marines aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln!  Kegsbreath and the soulless, cowardly Republicans in the House and Senate who kneel before this orange Faux King BONE SPURS COWARD should be punished for their apathy and lack of courage.  So should his incompetent Cabinet of incompetence and racism!

If not now, WHEN?!  What will be that “Last Straw" that brings down this cult?!

Will November be the time when enough citizens vote again this tsunami of absolute EVIL?!  Will November finally be the time we ALL stand together to build that dam illustrated in my meme?!

I just heard one of the talking heads on MS Now say: “There are worse people out there than Todd Blanche!”

That could be true but it depends on who he's compared to as Attorney General!

Who killed more human beings, Hitler or Stalin?! Who's “worse?!” They're BOTH absolutely EVIL!

I'm sure there is a hierarchy in HELL if Hell actually exists. Satan is still the King of the EVIL ones but the Hitlers, Stalins, Limbaughs and, eventually, t-Rump will have a special place down there.

Stephen Miller, RFK Jr, Kegsbreath and all the other sycophants of the orange Faux King will ALL eventually learn if HELL is as hot as advertised.  Can't happen soon enough in my opinion.

But comparing Blanche to other Attorneys General would be a graph heading from heaven straight to that hot place. 

The last two entries at the bottom of the graph would be Bondi and Blanche because there have NEVER been two worse picks for that position.

Choosing between being killed by a massive, painful heart attack or being shot to death by an ICE Nazi is not a reason to compare.  They are BOTH horrible and fatal.

If there IS someone “worse" than Blanche, I'd still be saying:  “Blanche is a despicable, sycophantic puppet who should NOT hold that position."  He will continue to do EVIL things for his orange puppet master!  

There has NEVER been a more corrupt administration in the history of the United States of America!  Not Nixon.  Not Cheney and W!  Not ANYone!

This November's election is the most important, consequential election of my lifetime!  3 of the past 4 presidential elections could also claim that title but I sincerely believe THIS midterm election will determine whether or not the United States of America survives as a world power!

The world is watching.  Putin, Xi and Netanyahu want us to fail!  It's up to US!  It's up to YOU!  VOTE like the future of your children and grandchildren depends on it because it DOES!

I see arguments on Substack every day saying Democrats have problems too.  Those things are true but my answer is ALWAYS:  “First let's get rid of the pedophiles, racists and Nazis, THEN we can weed out the bad Democrats!”

Let's unite in November to show the world that we, the decent, empathetic, patriotic citizens of this country I have served and loved for almost 80 years outnumber the brainwashed MAGAts, racists, Nazis and pedophiles by a large enough margin that it can't be questioned.

The orange “Bone Spurs COWARD" has NEVER served or cared about anyone except himself!  

As you know if you're one of my subscribers, I'm a Vietnam veteran.  I joined the United States Navy Reserve at 17 while I was a junior in high school.  My Dad was a WWII Navy veteran and, at that time, I thought I'd become a doctor in the future so I became a Hospital Corpsman to learn and experience the medical environment.

Little did I know at that young age how naive I was about that profession.

My life changed because of that decision.  I missed the fun of summer break before my senior year because I spent that summer in boot camp.  

The following summer after graduation I intended to attend Nevada Southern University (Now UNLV) with my friends.

At that time, everyone who graduated from a Nevada high school could attend tuition free.  

Again, I spent the summer in Hospital Corps School in San Diego.  There was supposed to be a special class of 14 weeks for reservists instead of the normal 16 for those of us who needed to get back in time to start college.

Through a clerical error, I was placed in a 16 week group with active duty personnel.  I missed the first semester with all my buddies which was a blessing and a curse.  Some of them joined a fraternity and partied all the time.  Looking back, it reminds me of the “Animal House" movie. 😊

I worked and signed up for the second semester but since I was a semester behind, I decided to drop out and get my active duty obligation out of the way.  

All my friends graduated from college.  I went to Vietnam. 

One of my high school classmates died there.

Instead of going back to school and getting a degree, I worked 3 jobs to survive.  I used my VA education benefit to take a three year writing correspondence course during nights and weekends.

I now realize how much the seeds of those early decisions grew into the massive oak tree which took root and consumed my future.

PTSD is a seed that becomes that tree!  My post yesterday about those who serve on the USS Abraham Lincoln and ALL who serve in that theater of t-Rump’$ WAR, have that seed taking root in their souls!  The fertilizer of lies from t-Rump, Kegsbreath and the soulless, cowardly Republicans in the House, Senate and Cabinet of sycophantic cowards who kneel before their Faux King and his puppet master in Russia nourish that tree which will block the sunlight of their lives for decades!

My writing is an attempt to express what happens to a young person's life because of the desire to serve while people like t-Rump are in charge of decisions which affect and, in many ways, control their future thoughts.

McNamara, Westmoreland and Nixon were the corrupt liars of my war.  Their children didn't serve.  Their lies and corruption were the fertilizer of my generation's oak tree of PTSD.

Today's volunteer military members are going to suffer for decades as I and my fellow Vietnam vets have.  We know what these kids will feel in 60 years if they survive that long. 22 veterans commit suicide EVERY day!

My sincere desire is to write and speak TRUTH to the monstrous power hungry bugs currently scampering around Washington DC like a hoard of greedy, grifting, incompetent cockroaches!

My words probably won't be read by enough people to matter but I'll still be here EVERY day as long as I breathe trying.

It's going to take millions of like minded patriots to stop this Titanic government ship of State from sinking.  My metaphor about building a dam of humanity high enough, wide enough and strong enough to hold back the tsunami of t-Rump’$ absolute EVIL is a valid comparison.

If not now, WHEN?!  We, the decent, empathetic, patriotic No Kings protesters MUST continue to march, speak, write and fight until this nightmare of hate, racism, Nazis and grift is stopped!

The Sailors and Marines aboard the Aircraft Carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln, CVN 72, have been deployed for 200 consecutive days!  The stress of doing those dangerous jobs 7 days a week takes a toll on the human body and mind!

(The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) is a Nimitz-class, nuclear-powered aircraft carrier commissioned on November 11, 1989. Named after the 16th U.S. President, it weighs about 100,000 tons, carries roughly 5,400 crew members, and supports up to 90 aircraft, acting as a floating military city.)

I've written before about the lack of respect some people have for the United States Navy. Being a corpsman in Vietnam, I’ve had so many Marines who were friends because they love their Corpsmen. A marine once told me they ALL remember the name of their Corpsman. It was “Doc.”

Some of the most dramatic and consequential battles of WWII were naval battles.

(The most consequential naval battles of World War II shifted global power, protected vital supply lines, and turned the tide of the conflict. Key engagements include the Battle of Midway (1942), the Battle of the Atlantic (1939–1945), and the Battle of Leyte Gulf (1944).)

My Dad's ship, (LST 898, The USS Lincoln County) participated in the Okinawa landing. 

The Marines who raised the flag on Mt Suribachi during the battle for Iwo Jima were transported there aboard US Navy vessels.  They landed on that black sand beach aboard US Navy landing craft.  

Doc Bradley, a Navy Corpsman, was one of those pictured raising that flag.  The book and movie, “Flags of Our Fathers," written by his son, portrayed the fierce battle which preceded that historic event.

Several of those flag raisers died in combat the next day.

There are stories of personnel aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln attempting suicide during this deployment!  There are confirmed news stories of shortages of items like toothpaste and shower soap!  There have been reports of shortages of weapons and defense systems which are the consequences of t-Rump and Kegsbreath’s incompetence of leadership during this critical time.

Netanyahu convinced his orange puppet to embark on this horrific error in presidential judgement!  

I know about the stress of serving in a war.  It takes a toll on the soul of the men and women who volunteer to serve.  I know what they will feel in 60 years, because it NEVER leaves the thoughts and nightmares of the human mind!

I've posted before about my experiences during the TET Offensive of 1968 and how it affected the rest of my life.

My heart goes out to the brave people aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln!  I hope everyone will take a moment to honor their service to the United States of America.  The volunteer members of the military services took an oath.  They, unlike t-Rump, Kegsbreath and his sycophantic Cabinet, will honor that oath.  They, unlike the “Bone Spurs Coward," risk everything to serve.  

Call your representative in the House and your senators to insist that this horror ends!  Tell them to do their fvckin jobs to reign in this out of control administration of corruption, grift and absolute EVIL!

End this war NOW!  Get these heroes home!  Impeach and convict those who sent them into this devastating travesty of incompetent leadership!  

18 Americans have died, hundreds have been wounded because Netanyahu pulled the strings on his orange puppet and Congress failed to stand up for their constituents in the military and their families!

The United States of America is in existential danger because they refused to do their jobs!  We're now at our weakest point during my lifetime to defend against the inevitable future attacks by our adversaries.  This nation I have served and loved for almost 80 years has lost the respect and admiration of former allies around the world!

Tragically, we were ALL lied to by parents, teachers and religious leaders during our formative years.  There's another old adage which says:  (“Give me a child until he is seven, and I will show you the man.” It is most often attributed to St. Ignatius of Loyola)

Tragically, that one turns out to be more accurate and prophetic than others!  The religious indoctrination of children is the most dangerous and difficult to overcome of any other “control mechanism" injected into the minds of the young!

As a devout atheist, I pray that education and life experience washes away (like a kind of FACTUAL baptism) that false indoctrination as a child matures into adulthood.

Unfortunately, we're now being threatened by the 30% who still claim to be "Christians” who are victims of the orange Faux King conman and his billionaire sycophants.

They say:  “There are no atheists in foxholes!" Bullsh1t!  Vietnam was where I was finally able to break away from the indoctrination of my youth.  Watching what war does to a human being made me realize that we're ALL just people.  Black, white or brown ALL bleed red.  I saw Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists and every kind of person at their most vulnerable.  

A Marine whose legs were blown off by a mine doesn't give a fvck about philosophy!  A young Vietnamese girl raped by an American soldier who was giving birth to a blue, dead baby in front of my 20 year old eyes didn't pray. She cried!

The bodies I carried from the choppers during the TET Offensive in 1968 were placed in body bags, not heavenly vehicles to be transported to a place with “Streets of Gold!"

I've lived almost 80 years.  I've seen FIRE and I've seen RAIN. If you're one of the 30% who are still supporting t-Rump and you happen to read my humble words, PLEASE look at reality just this once! You're following a pedophile, convicted felon and despicable disgrace to mankind.  If there's ANY truth to religion, he's going to spend eternity in HELL for ALL he's done here on earth.  Think.  Study.  Learn history.  Join those of us who have done those things and join us in November to put the brakes on this "out of control clown car” of sycophancy and cowardice.

I once had a friend in Georgia who asked me this:  "How can you be such a decent, honest person without religion?!”  My answer:  "I'd rather be those things because they're the decent, right thing, not because I fear going to HELL.”

That's my sermon for this Sunday.  It won't reach many who need to hear it.  I just wanted to let you ALL know why I do this work EVERY day.  I hope there's some truth to the dialogue from one of my favorite books, "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck:

That's the dream of this old, disabled Vietnam veteran: that we're ALL part of one universal soul.  Not individual races, creeds, religions, beliefs but all tied together in a tapestry of humanity with an obligation to be decent and honest and help each other.

These, in the words of that great philosopher, Thomas Paine: are indeed the times that try a man's soul!

They're brilliant lights in the darkness of the absolute EVIL of t-Rump and his sycophantic cult of billionaires and brainwashed MAGAt cockroaches.

Yesterday, they featured some parodies and original songs by their followers on Facebook and other sources.  It was a barrel of laughs.

Their show ALWAYS gives out their phone number and email address for listeners to communicate.  That proves they're fearless.  I've received some negative comments from MAGAts here on Substack.  My “Delete and Block" policy works for me.  I'm sure they get some of those too but opening communication is a way to allow us to be part of their show.  I've called a few times and emailed them some of my original memes.  

In response to yesterday's show I emailed them one of my old posts with original lyrics.  If you didn't see it when I first posted it, here it is:

Digging through some old files, I found an old song I wrote years ago in an attempt to laugh at another troubling incident.

40 years ago I got a speeding ticket from an arrogant, ridiculously authoritarian cop in a tiny town in Illinois.  His attitude and the obviously unnecessary “speed trap" he created to make his existence “necessary and justifiable” to the 12 citizens of his community, inspired this little song:

SPEED TRAP

(With a badge and a cap and a Billy Club and a 357 gun

Writin’ tickets makes him important.  That's his idea of fun.

His old cop car is rusty and the light on the top is broke

He has no sense of humor though he's the local joke.

He owns a stretch of highway that's barely on the map

Where he's the only law for miles.  They call it “The Speed Trap!") 

With all the tact of Barney Fife and the size of old King Kong

He let me know that I had done what he considered wrong.

"You sped,” he said.  “Right through my beat, a thing I don't allow.

You could have killed that poor goat’s kid or Farmer Elmer's cow!

His voice was mean and he seemed real mad when he looked at me and said:

“This ain't no doggone jet runway or NASA launching pad.”

I smiled at that analogy which was a huge mistake.

“You think something's funny, boy?  I hope not for your sake.

Because I just won't tolerate a smart ass in my town.”

I told him I was sorry which seemed to calm him down.

Then he gave me a ticket and I gave him my cash.

Now maybe he can renovate his ‘47 Nash

Which had the dark blue word: POLICE painted on the door 

Although the "L” was faded and the "E” was there no more.

His business done, he let me go.  There's little left to say.

So I hopped back on my bicycle and SLOWLY rode away.
