But we aren't.

It was a privilege to be a part of Maj. Watson’s courageous stand for the country. It’s an honor to join him in demanding that Congress take action, file articles of impeachment, and force a vote under Rule IX.

That’s right - if Democrats truly wanted to hold AG Bondi accountable for her ongoing, blatant obstruction of justice, they could have simply joined forces on the existing impeachment resolution. Or, they could have forced a vote on their new one. Impeachment is a privileged resolution, and under Rule IX any member of Congress can force a vote on questions of privilege. Instead, Lee and her co-sponsors drafted an entirely new impeachment resolution, then sent it to the same graveyard as the first one.

The Judiciary Committee is where impeachment resolutions go to die. There are five impeachment resolutions currently referred to the committee, for Trump, Hegseth, Noem, and RFK. They have been there for months, and none have been brought to a vote. Unless Rep. Lee and her co-sponsors find some courage and force a vote on H.Res 1119, the second Bondi impeachment resolution will spend the rest of its life ignored and irrelevant, just like the first.

It’s a puzzle - Epstein Files Transparency Act passed with a near unanimous 427-1 vote. Republicans and Democrats alike heard their constituents loud and clear: the scope and scale of Epstein’s crimes must be investigated, without regard for “political embarrassment or reputational harm.” Since then Bondi and her DoJ have spent more than 100 days in violation of federal law, withholding files, repeatedly tampering with released files, poorly or over-redacting files, resisting Lee’s own subpoenas, and plain old lying to Congress about it.

Imposing consequences on one of the architects of the Epstein Class cover-up is as close to a political slam dunk as you are going to get.

So why is Lee sending her resolution to die in the Judiciary Committee?

It’s simple: She doesn’t want to put Congress on the record.

Democrats have been complaining for a year that their base wants them to “do something,” and voting puts them on the hook. Votes are how we determine where Congress stands on an issue. Voting records give constituents a concrete foundation to demand change from.

It works, too. Rep. Green (TX-09) used Rule IX twice to force votes on impeachment in 2025; once in June 2025, the first time Trump bombed Iran, and once in December to impeach Trump for threatening violence against sitting members of Congress. The number of representatives voting to take up the question of impeachment nearly doubled in that time, jumping from 79 to 140 members. And, in a blow to establishment Democrats fighting against impeachment, only 47 members followed Minority Leader Jeffries in voting “PRESENT.”

As a result, Democratic leadership was forced to modify their year-long opposition to impeachment. At the beginning of 2026, Minority Leader Jeffries (NY-08) joined CNN to talk about Rule IX and the power it gives representatives. It took him long enough: a majority of voters have supported impeachment since April of 2025. (Impeachment is also popular with a plurality of voters in swing districts, and, notably for Rep. Lee’s impeachment effort, among voters dissatisfied with the government’s handling of the Epstein files.)

As the lead of the grassroots group Citizens’ Impeachment, I have watched Congress reluctantly move towards accountability thanks to grassroots organizations like FLARE USA, Remove the Regime, Free Speech for People, Blackout the System, Sons of Liberty, and more. The thirteen thousand everyday Americans working with us have asked members of Congress over and over again - will you uphold your oath of office and impeach? Despite Trump’s nearly 3,000 anti-democratic actions and the unequivocal existence of a decades long relationship with the head of a child sex-trafficking ring, the answer so far has been no.

If Rep. Lee and her co-sponsors have the courage to force a vote on H.Res 1119, she could change that. Survivors of Epstein deserve that sort of courage. And the American people are demanding it.

You may wonder why Congress isn’t impeaching Trump. We are as well.

Every step of the impeachment process requires courage. Leadership has been actively resisting calls for impeachment from the American public since April 2025, when we started this work. Congress is finally starting to move past this block, but they haven’t gone far enough. Rep. Robin Kelly filed articles of impeachment for Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem (H.Res. 996), with 187 cosigners, and didn’t bring it to a vote. Shri Thandedar filed articles of impeachment for President Donald Trump (H.Res. 353), Secretary of Defense, Peter Hegseth (H.Res. 935), and Attorney General Pamela Jo Bondi (H.Res. 1105), with zero or one cosigners. Most recently, Rep. Summer Lee filed H.Res. 1119, a different impeachment resolution for Attorney General Bondi. All of these bills are sitting in the Judiciary Committee, waiting for the next step in the process.

Why haven’t these bills made it to the House floor for a vote? We keep hearing excuses from the Democrats, mostly about how articles of impeachment need a Democratic majority in the House to pass. However, when push comes to shove–that is, when an actual vote is taken–it turns out that no one in Congress wants to be responsible for the Trump administration mess. The issues isn’t that Congress is incapable of passing anything. Four Republicans crossed the aisle to ensure the Epstein Transparency Act discharge petition was successful. Then, the Epstein Files Transparency Act passed in the House by a vote of 427-1 and in the Senate by unanimous consent. And then, four more Republicans crossed the aisle to pass the ACA subsidy extension by a vote of 230-196. Democrats and Republicans even came together to pass a bill regarding affordable housing (H. Res. 6644).

Votes put Congress on record. The reality is that Congress doesn’t want to go on record either as against the President or against the people. Taking a vote on the impeachment of Trump, Vance, or any cabinet member forces them to make that choice. Even 187 co-sponsors on H.Res. 996 weren’t enough to force Congress to vote to impeach Noem.

They didn’t really want to impeach Noem. They let the administration fire her instead. And it will be surprising if Congress impeaches Bondi. It’s hard to accept, but no one in Congress, except maybe Rep. Al Green, has any interest in using their congressional power to hold this administration accountable.

However, members of Congress are very interested in the midterms and their re-election.

That’s why Democrats in Congress constantly tell us that Democrats need to win the 2026 midterms. It’s as if there is a magical moment after the election when it’s a-okay to bring an impeachment vote to the floor. But their logic falls flat. If they haven’t even tried to force a vote to impeach any member of the Trump administration so far, do you really believe that they will do it in 2027 or 2028?

President Trump and his cabinet are a literal menace to the world, trampling the Constitution and global treaties as if they were yesterday’s newspapers. Not only is life increasingly unaffordable for Americans, but our country is in economic freefall. Musk slashed our government and laid off tens of thousands of people with the DOGE initiative, crippling our national infrastructure. Our personal government data is likely compromised. We invaded Venezuela to remove its leader and attacked Iran. We tried to invade Greenland. Secretary Hegseth has celebrated war crimes, insisting on “no quarter”, resulting in the murder of fishermen in the Caribbean, and schoolgirls in Iran, and continuing our complicity in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. ICE commits human rights violations daily in its detention centers, or concentration camps, where detained people are literally dying from disease, abuse, and inhumane conditions, or hunger. ICE, as a matter of written policy, violates the Fourth Amendment to detain people, including citizens, and deports immigrants to countries they aren’t even from. In addition, ICE agents have murdered at least fourthree American citizens (Ruben Ray Martinez, Keith Porter, Renee Good, and Alex Pretti) without any accountability except the bureaucratic shuffling of Kristi Noem to a new “special envoy” position. Measles, previously considered to be eradicated, has returned with a vengeance under RFK’s tenure and is now killing children (3 deaths in 2025). And the Epstein files that mention at least 30 members of the current administration, including President Trump.

To say our situation in the US is dire is an understatement.

And this nightmare may not end in 2028, per Donald Trump’s own words. Donald Trump and Steve Bannon are actively looking for legal loopholes for Trump to run for an illegal third term in 2028.

This downward spiral has already downgraded our democracy in the eyes of the world.

If our only hope for these impeachments to pass rests with the 2026 midterm elections, we need to elect candidates who we know for certain will impeach Trump on their first day.

That means that it is time to challenge Democrats in safe seats and tell them with our votes that if they won’t do the right thing and push to impeach President Trump and his cabinet right now, someone else will.

These candidates have pledged to file articles of impeachment for Tyranny, Treason, and Obstruction of Justice on the first day of their term to hold this administration accountable. Courage is on the ballot in 2026. We have just 8 months to get pro-impeachment, pro-democracy candidates into office, and we need your help. Register to vote in your primary so that in November we can put the Courage Candidates in office. January 2027 can’t come fast enough.

A reminder why this is important from Trump himself: in 2024, Trump told people at a Turning Point event that in four years, we don’t need to vote again because he’ll have it “all fixed so good.” Don’t underestimate a desperate man. Vote to impeach the regime!
