As a senior I can appreciate all of my memories, such as my wedding day 50 years ago. What I had for dinner three days ago escapes me. Memory can be so fickle but precious. My brother in law was a Colonel in the Marines, a big tough guy who is now in a memory care facility approaching a vegetative state. Memory is so fleeting and can leave you at any time all hollowed out mentally. So sad.

memory is essential but living with continuous image of oneself is also false as we are constantly changing
