So today I rounded up ten Amazon finds that have seriously impressed me. And these aren’t just things I found scrolling Amazon - I actually own them and can vouch for the quality! I can’t believe the quality of this gorgeous throw blanket, especially with it being $42!!! It looks SO luxe draped over a sofa or chair, and I love the designer-inspired look. It's soft, cozy and such an easy way to make a room look more expensive!

Hair Clip

I’ve never been more obsessed with a hair clip in my life haha! These look SO similar to Celine and instantly make even a simple hairstyle feel a little more elevated. They come in a pack of four for $20!

Ballet Flats

These ballet flats look SO much more expensive than they are and give me major Chanel vibes! I love the two-tone design, square toe and little bow detail, and they come in so many good color combinations. They’re such a cute shoe to wear now and transition right into fall.

Birkin Boat Tote

This bag gives MAJOR Birkin vibes for a tiny fraction of the price! I love the structured shape, canvas material and gold hardware, and it’s actually really spacious - big enough for a laptop and all of your everyday essentials.

Chocolate Brown Trench Coat

This coat looks SO much more expensive than it is! I love the eyelet detail - it has that chic, designer look while still being really wearable. This is one of those Amazon finds no one would ever guess came from Amazon!

Vanity Case

I am OBSESSED with this vanity case! The structured shape and gold details make it look so luxe, and it’s surprisingly roomy inside for all of my makeup and skincare. It even has dividers inside, too! I love it for travel, but it’s pretty enough to leave sitting out on your vanity, too.

Sneaker Mules

I knew sneaker mules were going to be HUGE for fall, and these are such a good way to try the trend without spending a ton! I love the sporty shape mixed with the open back, and they look SO similar to the designer versions I've been seeing everywhere. They're cute with shorts now and will be even better with jeans as we head into fall.

Bracelet Stack & Watch

I LOVE how expensive this entire stack looks! The watch has such a classic, designer-inspired look, and I love it paired with the mix of gold and black bracelets. You can wear everything together like this or mix the pieces in with jewelry you already own.

JW PEI Handbag

You guys KNOW I’ve talked about JW PEI handbags a million times, but they continue to be one of my favorite affordable handbag brands! Their bags are always chic and on-trend and look like they cost SO much more than they actually do. This one goes with basically any outfit, and the price is insane for how good it looks!

Classic Trench Coat

A trench coat is a fall staple in my book - it’s just such a classic piece! I LOVE the plaid lining on this one because when you roll the sleeves, it adds a fun twist to your outfit. You can definitely spend a lot more on a trench you’ll wear year after year, but if you want to try the look without spending a fortune, this one is only $54!!

Amazon can definitely be hit or miss, which is why I get SO excited when I find something that looks this good in person! I love mixing investment pieces with more affordable finds, and I truly think some of these could fool you into thinking they came from a much more expensive retailer.

Today I’m narrowing it down to five of my absolute favorites. These are all places I’ve personally visited and would go back to in a heartbeat, whether you’re looking for incredible fall foliage, a romantic mountain getaway, a family trip or an excuse to hop on a plane to the English countryside. :)

For each destination, I’m sharing why I love it, where I recommend staying, my favorite restaurants and the things you absolutely HAVE to do while you’re there. So if you’re itching to plan a fall trip this year (or just want to add a few places to your bucket list!), save this one!

1. Stowe, Vermont

I have been to Stowe more times than I can count, it is one of my very favorite towns in Vermont! It’s pretty far north, so if you’re considering visiting Stowe, you’ll want to come here earlier in the fall season (if you wait too long, the leaves will be past peak!). To get there, you will want to fly into the Burlington airport, and from there it is an hour drive to Stowe.

Whenever we visit Stowe, we always stay at the Lodge at Spruce Peak - a GORGEOUS ski lodge with beautiful rooms and even better views. We have stayed both in the hotel rooms and the townhouses, and I love both! With kids, I definitely recommend the townhouse as it is more spacious, with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The resort has an assortment of restaurants and even a small grocery store, but perhaps the best thing about it is the gondola! The gondola is located right on the property and takes you up Mount Mansfield - at the top is a stunning view of the mountains and the town far below, a gift shop and little stand selling piping hot waffles with real Vermont syrup.

If you’re planning a trip to Stowe, you also have to visit Main Street - with its picturesque white church, coffee shops and touristy shops (including a General Store), you’ll find plenty to do for a few hours. Pick up some real maple syrup and a cute Vermont coffee mug at Stowe Mercantile and then head next door to Bear Pond Books (one of my favorite bookstores!). The roads in Stowe are also beautiful, and you can find a lot of photo spots just through the car window! We particularly loved driving through Smuggler’s Notch State Park.

Carve a few hours in your itinerary to stop by Cold Hollow Cider Mill. You can watch apple cider donuts being made and try some for yourself, as well as shop their extensive Vermont gift store. Be sure to eat lunch at the Luncheonette, the little building right across from the cider mill that offers hard cider (and hard cider tastings!), and a variety of salads, wraps and sandwiches.

Another place you can’t miss is Von Trapp Bierhall and Brewery. Remember the Sound of Music? When the von Trapp family escaped Austria in the 1940s they actually settled in Stowe! The family built a beautiful lodge with sweeping mountain vistas and opened it up to guests in 1950. Today, the Trapp Family Lodge has expanded to include a brewery and you simply MUST stop in for some fresh lager beers and authentic Austrian food!

2. Highlands, North Carolina

One of my favorite fall destinations is in my home state, North Carolina! Highlands is a small town in the North Carolina mountains but is quite a luxury destination, with world-class restaurants, hotels and spas. There’s some really good hiking trails and waterfalls to visit, a beautiful downtown area with high-end shops, and some of my favorite restaurants in the world!

My favorite place to stay in Highlands is Old Edwards Inn - it reminds me of a European mountain resort with a gorgeous historic inn, beautiful stone guest cottages and more fireplaces than you can count. Everywhere you look, there’s a nook or cranny where you could curl up with a good book! If you’re traveling with your furry friend, I recommend Park on Main - an entire hotel centered around dogs, and if you’re traveling with kids, there are many cabin rentals in the area. We also love Old Edwards’ sister hotel Half-Mile Farm, an adults-only retreat near Highlands with chef-made breakfasts and serene mountain views.

Highlands was basically built for relaxing. Whether it’s curled up next to a fireplace with a good book or sipping a glass of wine on a patio, people travel here from all over just to soak up the fresh mountain air and the slow lifestyle. The highlight is definitely the Spa at Old Edwards - rated Condé Nast’s Top Hotel Spa in North America, the Spa at Old Edwards is my favorite spa I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot of spas all over the world!). All of their skin treatments and massages use herbs and botanicals from their own gardens and are BEYOND magical. I would plan to spend the day at the spa - after your treatment, you can relax in the solarium and listen to the sounds of nature, grab a bite to eat or a glass of champagne in the spa cafe, soak in the jacuzzi tub, or take a shower using their luxurious bath products.

One of my favorite restaurants in the entire world is also located in Highlands: Ristorante Paoletti! It feels like an authentic Italian experience right in the North Carolina mountains, from their handmade pasta to their extensive wine selection. For groceries or a quick bite to eat, I highly recommend stopping by Mountain Fresh Grocery - it’s basically a grocery store with a little restaurant inside where you can order food, hang out and eat, and also pick up some snacks for your hotel room or cabin. We also love Buck’s Coffee, Pizza Place of Highlands, Wild Thyme, Madison’s and Bistro on Main.

3. Woodstock, Vermont

I know that Vermont is on this list twice, but Woodstock offers a completely different vibe from Stowe, so I had to include it on this list!

Our favorite Airbnb we’ve EVER rented happens to be in Woodstock. This one! It’s one of the prettiest houses we’ve ever stayed in, with a gorgeous and spacious kitchen, beautiful decor, it’s own private pond, and foliage views out of every window. If you’d rather stay in town, I recommend the Woodstock Inn and Resort. It’s walking distance to all of the downtown shops and restaurants, and the front lawn is gorgeous, with lots of green space for kids to run around and play. Speaking of downtown, Woodstock has an INCREDIBLE downtown scene with lots of good shopping, bookstores, coffee shops, and restaurants.

I love Woodstock because most of the restaurants place a huge emphasis on eating local and organic foods. I could spend hours in the Woodstock Farmers Market - it’s a grocery store with local Vermont foods, fresh baked goods (and cider!) as well as fresh meats and cheeses. Our favorite dinner experience is visiting Cloudland Farm - a diversified working farm that offers a true farm-to-table dining experience a few nights per week. The chef uses the most local and seasonal ingredients available. It’s also located in a beautiful setting, in the pastoral hills of Pomfret, Vermont!

While you’re visiting Woodstock, you’ll definitely want to plan a visit to Sugarbush Farm for a maple syrup tasting! You can make a whole day out of it - this 500 acre farm is located on a scenic road just outside of Woodstock. You’ll find free samples of cheese and maple syrup, as well as a farm store full of local jams, mustards, spreads and meats. There’s enough to make a whole little picnic lunch, which you can enjoy on the picnic tables right outside.

My final recommendation for Woodstock (especially if you have kids!) is to visit Billings Farm. This farm is regarded as one of the finest outdoor history museums in country, combining a fully-operating Jersey dairy farm with educational exhibits and interactive programs. My girls loved getting to learn about and pet the Jersey cows, as well as the sheep, goats and pigs!

4. Aspen, Colorado

I feel like a lot of people forget about Colorado during the fall, but it is absolutely GORGEOUS! All of those famous Aspen trees turn the most vibrant shade of yellow, and when the mountains are covered in them, it is truly one of the most beautiful sights. Fall foliage in Aspen typically peaks around the third or fourth week of September, so if you’re planning a trip specifically for the leaves, you’ll want to time your visit accordingly.

One of the best things about Aspen is that you can fly directly into the Aspen airport, which makes getting here surprisingly easy. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Jerome - an Aspen classic! It’s been around since the 1800s and has that old-school, luxurious mountain-lodge feeling that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era.

Aspen also has a completely different feel from the New England destinations on this list. Instead of covered bridges and white churches, you get a very Western mountain-town vibe - think cowboy boots, ranches, mountains - but make it luxury! Aspen has some seriously good shopping, including designer stores like Chanel and Louis Vuitton, but I also love wandering into the more Western-inspired shops. You have to stop at Kemo Sabe and get yourself a genuine cowboy hat. It’s such a fun Aspen experience, and you’ll see people wearing their hats all over town!

The restaurants in Aspen are also fabulous. We love Betula, which serves Asian-inspired food with a French twist, and there are so many other great restaurants packed into the downtown area that you really can’t go wrong.

If you only do one thing while you’re there, visit Maroon Bells! The Maroon Bells are two dramatic mountain peaks that rise more than 14,000 feet above Maroon Lake, and the combination of the mountains, the lake and the golden Aspen trees in the fall is absolutely unreal. It looks like a painting. September is an especially magical time to visit because the Aspen trees surrounding the lake turn brilliant gold. You can simply take in the views around Maroon Lake, or make a little adventure out of it and explore one of the hiking trails in the area.

5. Cotswolds, England

We visited the Cotswolds last year and, although it’s definitely a little harder to get to than the other destinations on this list, it is completely worth it. It was UNREAL. If you’ve ever dreamed of spending a few days wandering through tiny English villages, staying in cozy stone cottages and drinking tea in front of a fireplace, this is the place for you!

The Cotswolds is actually a pretty large area, so there is a LOT to explore. We stayed in a beautiful Airbnb for half of our trip and then spent the other half at The Manor House in Castle Combe, a gorgeous historic hotel. Because the Cotswolds is so spread out, we would sometimes drive 30 minutes to an hour between towns to explore somewhere new, which I actually loved. There are so many beautiful rentals, inns and hotels throughout the area that you really can’t go wrong with where you stay.

There are SO many things to do here, but here are a few of my favorites. First, you have to visit Daylesford Farm Shop. It’s an organic farm shop with fresh produce, beautiful local goods and an amazing farm-to-table restaurant. I could have spent hours wandering around picking up things for our kitchen and looking at all of the gorgeous food and home goods! For a truly quintessential English experience, make reservations for afternoon tea at Slaughters Manor House. This was probably my favorite afternoon tea I’ve ever had! There is something about sitting in a beautiful English manor, drinking tea and eating little sandwiches and pastries that makes you feel like you’ve been transported into a Nancy Meyers movie.

Another place that absolutely blew me away was Restoration Hardware at Aynhoe Park. Yes, Restoration Hardware! It is located inside a stunning historic estate, and it is honestly an EXPERIENCE. People literally go there just to hang out and have lunch because the space is so beautiful. You can also shop for furniture and home decor, but even if you’re not in the market for a new dining table, it is worth visiting just to see the property.

You also have to visit Bourton-on-the-Water, one of the most famous villages in the Cotswolds. The town is built around the River Windrush, which runs right through the center of town, with little stone bridges crossing over the water. It’s often called the “Venice of the Cotswolds,” and it’s easy to see why! There are adorable shops, tea rooms, restaurants and beautiful little stone buildings lining the river. It can get busy, but don’t let that deter you - it’s one of those places that is popular for a reason.

Perhaps my favorite part of our entire Cotswolds trip was something we did with our girls: a fairy walk in Castle Combe! We ordered little picnic lunches and took them on a specific trail through the forest where we searched for tiny fairy doors hidden along the way. When we found one, the girls got to write a note to the fairies and leave it for them inside the fairy house. They were absolutely enchanted by it, and I think it was their favorite part of the entire trip. Honestly, if you’re traveling with kids, I would plan your trip around this!

The fall foliage in England wasn’t quite as brilliant as what you’ll find in New England, so if your number one priority is seeing spectacular red and orange leaves, I’d choose Vermont. BUT... the architecture in England more than makes up for it. The Cotswolds in the fall is all cozy stone cottages, winding country roads, ancient churches, fireplaces, afternoon tea and little villages that look like they came straight out of a storybook. The honey-colored cottages covered in ivy and surrounded by English gardens are unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else.

It’s definitely the most ambitious trip on this list, but if you’re willing to make the journey, I truly can’t recommend it enough. The Cotswolds might just be my favorite fall destination of them all!

Writing this officially has me so excited for one of our fall trips coming up in a few weeks! Every place on this list is so different, which makes it almost impossible for me to pick a favorite. If you want classic fall foliage and small-town charm, I’d head straight to Vermont. Highlands is perfect for a cozy mountain weekend, Aspen gives you the most gorgeous golden leaves with a Western twist, and the Cotswolds is basically my fall Nancy Meyers dream come to life.

Super-Light Adhesive Bra

This is my go-to bra anytime I'm wearing a strapless, spaghetti-strap or tricky neckline! I've tried plenty of adhesive bras over the years, but I always come back to this one because it is SO lightweight and actually stays put. It's also less than $20 and reusable - I just rinse it with soap and water after each wear and let it dry. Definitely not the most exciting wardrobe purchase haha, but it's one of those basics I'm VERY glad to have when I need it!

The Only Underwear I Wear

When I say this is the ONLY underwear I own and wear, I mean it haha. I prefer the Original Rise, although they also make a Low-Rise version. They're technically one size fits all, which sounds absolutely crazy for underwear, but somehow it works! They're incredibly stretchy - I wore the same ones throughout my entire pregnancy and they still fit perfectly postpartum. And yes, they're thongs, but they're actually COMFORTABLE. I've been loyal to these for years and have zero plans to switch!

A Really Good White T-Shirt

I know this seems expensive for a basic white t-shirt, but this is one of those pieces where I think quality really does make a difference. I've bought plenty of less expensive white tees that ended up being too thin, too sheer or just didn't hold up over time. This one has the perfect weight to it, you can't see your bra through it, and it looks just as good on its own as it does layered under a jacket or sweater. Considering how many different ways you can wear a good white tee, it's one basic I'm willing to invest a little more in!

My Favorite Nursing Bra

These are the nursing bras I've reached for the MOST during this postpartum period - in fact, I have one on right now haha. They're really comfortable, easy to clip and unclip with one hand, and comfortable enough that I can even sleep in them. Most importantly, they hold up incredibly well in the wash... which is saying something because I seriously wash them what feels like 200 times a week. 😂

My Everyday Bra

I cannot say enough good things about this bra! It's seamless, nude and basically disappears underneath your clothes, which is exactly what I want from an everyday bra. But the biggest reason I keep reaching for it is simply because it's SO comfortable. A good nude bra is one of those boring-but-essential pieces every closet needs, and this one checks every box for me.

The Jeans I Keep Reaching For

I only bought these jeans a few months ago and I've already worn them SO much! The wash is pretty much perfect - it works with every color and makes them incredibly easy to style - but it's really the fit that sold me. They're so flattering and comfortable, especially for me during this postpartum period. A great pair of everyday jeans is one of the hardest-working pieces in my closet, and these have quickly become THE pair I reach for over and over again.

A Classic Trench Coat

I've had this trench since last fall and genuinely cannot WAIT to pull it back out again this year! I have the light beige color, and everything about it feels classic - from the shape and construction to the checkered lining inside. This is exactly the kind of piece I look for when I'm investing in a wardrobe staple because it isn't tied to one specific trend. I'll be able to wear it year after year, and it instantly makes even the simplest outfit look more put together.

My Everyday Tennis Shoes

These have become my favorite tennis shoes for pretty much everything - running errands, going on walks, working out, mom life... you name it. First of all, they're completely hands-free, so you literally just slip your feet into them, which is way more convenient than I ever realized I needed. They're also neutral enough to work with basically anything, whether I'm wearing workout clothes, leggings or a cute athleisure outfit. They're definitely one of my most practical basics, but also one of my most-worn!

The BEST Layering Shirts

I didn’t want to like SKIMS as much as I do haha, but I have to admit that their t-shirts and turtlenecks are some of the best layering pieces I’ve found. I wore this brown tee sooo much last fall (it’s in the above photo!), and I already know it will be on repeat again this year. I also wore their turtleneck to death last year, too!

The fabric is incredibly soft and ULTRA thin, which is exactly what makes these so good for layering. Right now, you can wear one on its own or throw a lightweight sweater or jacket over it as we transition into fall. Once winter hits, they’re thin enough to wear underneath heavier sweaters and cardigans for extra warmth without adding a ton of bulk. These are the kind of basics that don’t look particularly exciting hanging in your closet, but somehow end up being the pieces you wear ALL the time.

Happy Friday, friends! We got home earlier this week from a little mountain trip to Banner Elk and have spent the rest of the week unpacking and preparing for school to start next week (ahh!). I’ve been extra emotional about my kids growing up - Kennedy is off to Kindergarten (which feels like a BIG milestone), and Eleanor is already two months old! She’s looking and acting more like a baby instead of a newborn - I’ve cried so many tears thinking about how the newborn days are flying by so fast. Anyways, let’s move on to happier subjects - here are some things I’m loving this Friday!

Our Mountain Getaway

We escaped to Banner Elk for a few days with my entire family - my kids, husband, mom, brother, and sister-in-law - and it was honestly one of my favorite trips we’ve ever taken! It was so nice to put down my phone for a bit and live in the moment with my kids - we went on lots of nature walks, played in the creek, picked wildflowers, played on the tire swing, and roasted marshmallows over the fire. We let the girls have summer treats and all stayed up past our bedtimes. It was so much fun, it made me nostalgic for my own childhood! It just felt like such a safe and wholesome trip and I forgot all about my adult responsibilities for a few days. By the way, we rented this house and it was STUNNING - we loved it so much that we’ve already rented it again in September!

Target Jeans

I know these jeans don’t look like much online, but they are SO CUTE in person and I’ve basically been wearing them nonstop. Chris even asked me, “You’re wearing those jeans AGAIN?” I have them in the light wash and they’re the perfect wash - not too light and not too dark - to wear every day and to pair with any top. They’re also really comfortable, and I think because they’re less than $40 I’m not worried about them getting messed up! You can see how I styled them here and here.

Cozy Fall Reads

You know I’m already looking forward to fall, and the fall reading has already begun! I recently finished this book, which was a gorgeously atmospheric, slow-burning fantasy that takes you into the English countryside - where faeries and forgotten magic still exist. It was the type of novel that you want dig into while you curl up with a hot cup of tea on a rainy day. It does unfold at a slower pace, but for readers who crave rich world-building, layered characters, and that slow build of romantic and emotional tension, this book is an absolute treat!

Fall Home Decor

Yes, yes - it’s that time of year again where I slowly start to incorporate bits of fall into my home decor. I love the dark, moody vibes that fall decor lends to a cozy interior. Target’s new releases are sooo good and I placed a huge order that I can’t wait to receive! I ordered this glass cloche for matches, this moody cup and saucer, some autumn-inspired framed pictures, and a new little side table for beside our bathtub. We’ll probably make a Target run this weekend with the kids, so I can’t wait to see more of the items in person - you know I’ll come home with a couple!

A Strict Nighttime Routine

I’ve been sleeping really well at night (yes, even with a new baby!) and I think it’s because I’ve been enforcing a strict nighttime routine for myself. No phones allowed!! My night starts with a cup of lemon balm tea while Chris and I watch a show with the lights dimmed (I nurse Eleanor at this time, too!). It’s lights out for all of us around 9:30 pm - I apply this anxiety oil behind my ears and I read for a little bit on my Kindle while all the lights are out. My Kindle is officially off at 10pm and my weighted sleep mask is on - and I sleep like a rock until Eleanor wakes up (usually around 5 or 6 am). My sleep score has been in the 80s every day. I have always been a night owl, so my younger self would seriously be impressed!!

Miu Miu Blue Light Glasses (and the dupes)

I was 100% influenced to buy these Miu Miu blue light glasses after seeing them on so many of the TikTok girls I follow! There was one influencer in particular who kept wearing them and every single time I saw them on her, I loved them even more. I finally gave in and bought the real pair, and I can confidently say this was one influenced purchase I do NOT regret!! I’ve had them for a while now and still reach for them time and time again. They have such a classic shape that I really don’t think will ever go out of style, which made me feel a lot better about investing in the real thing. And if you love the look but not the designer price tag, I also found this lookalike pair that gives you a very similar look for way less!

OSEA Vagus Nerve Oil

My mom actually influenced me to buy this one! We both struggle with anxiety, and she introduced me to this luxurious essential oil blend that she swore helped her relax. I know it sounds a little crazy, but even just smelling it straight from the bottle makes me feel instantly calmer! I put a little in my hands, rub them together, cup them over my nose and take a few deep breaths, then massage it along the sides of my neck and behind my ears. It smells AMAZING!! It’s a blend of chamomile, juniper berry, lavender, lemon tea tree, and Moroccan rosemary, and it has become one of those little rituals I reach for whenever I need a moment to unwind.

My assistant Grace influenced me to buy this one simply by showing up with perfect hair every single day haha. This hair tool has been a GAME CHANGER since adding a lot more layers to my hair, especially around my face. I was having a hard time getting all of those shorter pieces to lay right with a traditional curling iron, but this curls them so well and gives me that fresh blowout look every time. It's also really easy to pull out for quick touch-ups throughout the week without having to completely redo my hair!

MOTHER Barrel Jeans

I first saw these jeans on Katy while I was pregnant and immediately saved them because I couldn’t wait to buy them once I could wear jeans again!!! They were absolutely worth the wait because they have quickly become my favorite pair of jeans. They’re SO comfortable and flattering (especially for this postpartum mama!), and I’ve already worn them more times than I can count. I love that I can style them so many different ways, too you can see a few of the outfits I’ve worn them with here, here, and here!

Luna Bronze Tanning Water

My mom influenced me to try this face tanning water, and this was another one where she was 100% right!! I’ve talked about this before, but I started using it this spring and loved it so much that it quickly became a constant in my weekly skincare routine. It gives my face that little bit of extra color I’m always looking for without having to actually sit out in the sun, and I love waking up with a fresh, sun-kissed glow. I’ve been using it consistently all spring and summer and definitely don’t see myself stopping anytime soon! It’ll be nice in the winter to avoid looking so pale on my face!!

Hermès-Inspired Handbags

I LOVE following European influencers, and so many of them have the most gorgeous collections of Hermès handbags. Consider me influenced... just not enough to spend Hermès prices haha! Instead, I’ve fallen in love with JW PEI handbags that give me that same chic, structured look for a fraction of the price. They look SO similar and feel way more expensive than they are! I already own this one and this one and absolutely love them, and now I have this one and this one on my wish list. I have a feeling they’ll be joining my collection very soon!

Amazon Tripod

This one is kind of random haha, but my mom influenced me to buy this little Amazon tripod and it has become one of my MOST-USED products of all time! It folds up super small and fits in even my tiniest handbags, so I bring it with me everywhere and especially love it for traveling. I obviously use it all the time for work to grab photos and videos, but I genuinely think I would own it even if I wasn't an influencer! It's so nice for getting family photos or videos when there's no one else around to take them, and we've captured so many little moments because of it.

I’ve always loved August, for so many reasons - even though it’s still hot outside, it feels like the start of a new season. Our kids are going back to school, which means fresh routines for everyone, and we start prepping for fall (fall fashion, fall trips, fall content!). I’ve already started incorporating some fall coziness into my everyday routine. Here’s a peek at what I’m looking forward to this month:

Fall Fashion

While cool weather hasn’t officially arrived, fall fashion has! I’ve been slowly transitioning over my wardrobe from bright summer hues to autumnal colors like chocolate brown and olive green. This cardigan is one of my latest purchases (I’m wearing it here), as well as these matching woven flats, which I’ve already worn with everything from dresses to jeans. Another favorite transitional purchase has been these lace shorts (seen here) - they’re right on trend and easy to style, which really counts for something! I love wearing them with a tee for summer, but can also see them styled with an oversized sweater and boots in the fall. I’ve also been really loving funnel neck jackets - I just got this one in the mail and although it doesn’t look like much online, IT IS SO CUTE IN PERSON. I’m kind of crazy about it!

Back-to-School

At the end of August, our two big girls are off to school - and yes, one of them is officially a Kindergartner (excuse me while I wipe my tears). While I’ve absolutely loved having them home for the summer and it will certainly be an emotional send-off, I’m also really excited about the structure and routine that back-to-school brings to our lives. Since Chris and I both work from home, summertime can feel quite chaotic for us - no alarm clocks and no strict routines (which is truly what summertime is about!), but I think we’re all feeling ready for some structure again. I have big plans for the hours that the girls are in school, including trying some new fitness classes and achieving some work goals I’ve set for myself. I already purchased a new, chic planner and notebook to kickstart my productivity (hello adult school supplies! haha).

Our First Fall Trip (Next Week!)

I’m so ready for fall travel, we went ahead and booked a mini fall trip to the mountains next week! It’s a beautiful house in the countryside, and it should be cooler since the elevation is a lot higher. The girls are going with us, of course - I ordered these monogrammed bags for them that will make perfect packing cubes. And since we are bringing Eleanor (her first trip EVER!), we will be packing our baby travel accessories, like a portable crib and this absolute must-have. Since this is our first trip with all three kids, we don’t have huge plans or expectations - we mainly want to sit on the porch swing and sip coffee in the mornings, play outside all afternoon, and enjoy the cooler weather! (And maybe wear some cute fall outfits.) It will be a good test-run before our annual trip to Vermont this October!

My Dad’s Birthday

While I’m not looking forward to this day, I couldn’t write this post without mentioning that my dad’s birthday is in August - a date that was once celebrated, but now makes this month feel extra heavy. We should be throwing him a party for his 67th birthday - he should be on the floor playing with his grandkids, holding his new granddaughter, he should be laughing as my kids blow out the candles on his cake before he can. He was the most selfless person I have ever known and spent every other day of the year celebrating everyone else - his birthday was the one day we got to celebrate him. If I’m honest with myself, most days I push my grief down and avoid truly “feeling” it - but this month feels impossible to do so. On the inside, I’m still a little girl who really, really needs her dad.

Sorry to end this post on a sad note, but I think that’s part of what makes this August feel so different for me. It’s a month that holds so much anticipation and excitement, but also a reminder of what - and who - we’re missing.

I’m trying to remind myself that both things can exist at the same time: I can be excited for a new school year, fall fashion, cooler weather and family adventures, while also missing my dad. Maybe that’s what I’m looking ahead to most this month - not just a new season, but learning to embrace all of the feelings that come with it.

I don’t know if it’s because we have three kids now or because adding a newborn changes the entire rhythm of your day, but life feels wonderfully chaotic these days. Between nursing Eleanor, getting the girls fed and entertained, trying to keep the house somewhat clean and squeezing in work, there are definitely moments where I feel like I’m being pulled in a hundred different directions.

The good news? We’ve slowly started finding little routines, products, and habits that have made this transition feel so much more manageable. None of these are groundbreaking on their own, but together they’ve helped our days run a little more smoothly and made this season feel a lot less overwhelming.

Today I thought I’d share a few of the things that are genuinely saving us right now - from simple meal prep ideas and organization hacks to baby products, snacks, and a few activities that buy me just enough time to drink my coffee while it’s still warm!

Making Breakfast for the Week on Sunday

We quickly learned with a newborn that mornings are the most hectic time for us - we are tired, and trying to make breakfast for everyone and also get everyone dressed and ready for the day is a challenge! We started making breakfast for the entire week on Sundays, and it has made our mornings MUCH easier. For instance, we make up a big batch of blueberry muffins (recipe here) or a quiche or veggie egg bites - basically anything that is healthy but also quick to serve in the mornings. It gets our weekdays off to a good start!

Skylight Calendar

The Skylight Calendar has been an amazing way for us to all keep track of everyone's schedules and make sure we're all aligned - each person's activities, meetings and appointments are color coded on the calendar and we keep it in the mudroom so that every person in the family can see it. We also use it to track chores (like the girls brushing their teeth in the morning) and we have a running grocery list. It has helped our busy life not feel as overwhelming! Snack Drawers

If your kids are anything like mine, mine are ALWAYS asking for snacks! One thing that we did that has been a game changer for our family is setting up dedicated snack spaces for the kids - there is one bin in the pantry and one drawer in the refrigerator that is dedicated to their foods. And since they're healthy snacks, they don't even need to ask us permission, they can just grab something for themselves! For example, the bottom drawer of our refrigerator contains mozzarella sticks, cut-up veggies, cold pressed pouches and oat bars, while the snack bin in the pantry contains beef sticks, Larabars, packs of pretzels, and peanut butter puffs.

LoveEvery Play Mat

Although I would love to hold Eleanor every *single* second of the day, it's just not possible with multiple kids! Sometimes I need to set her down so I can clean dishes or make lunch for the girls. We have been keeping this LoveEvery play mat in our kitchen/living room area and it's so nice to have a dedicated spot to set her down that is clean and also keeps her entertained. She really loves looking at the black and white cards (they come with the play mat) or trying to touch the crinkly toys at the top. We've also been using it to practice tummy time!

5 Minute Makeup Routine

Like I talked about above, efficiency is key! Most mornings, I'm applying my makeup one-handed, while also holding Eleanor. I've gotten my makeup routine down to just five products and less than five minutes - while still helping me look presentable and feel self-confident. This foundation is the perfect medium-coverage base (shade Vanuatu), then I do a quick contour with this bronzer and a swipe of this blush. Mascara is a non-negotiable, and the finishing touch is a neutral, everyday lip color like this one (shade "pillow talk").

Staying Hydrated

Between working, mom life and breastfeeding every couple of hours, I have to be as efficient as possible these days - including staying hydrated! I love these electrolytes because there's no artificial sweetener or additives - it's sweetened with real fruit - and the taste isn't overwhelming! Gas Drops

One thing that is REALLY saving my sanity right now is gas drops - LOL! Eleanor is almost two months old and really struggling with gas right now - this is very normal for newborns, since their digestive systems are still growing and learning how to process food. Our pediatrician recommended these gas drops with Kennedy, and we have now used them with all three kids - and they are truly a godsend! Whenever I even suspect that Eleanor is struggling with gas, we give her a dose of the gas drops and it almost immediately helps to calm her stomach down - or to get her to pass the gas. I know this is a weird one, but if you’ve ever had a newborn I think you know how valuable these are!!!

Anything that Keeps my Kids Entertained

I actually wrote an entire blog post on keeping my kids entertained while I have a newborn, but I'll hit a few of the highlights here - basically, all of these items keep Kennedy and Collins entertained for a long time if I need to nurse Eleanor or try to get her down for a nap. They include these craft kits, these sticker books and digging for these dinosaur eggs. (I can’t even tell you how many hours this dinosaur egg kit has bought me – lol! Each egg takes the girls about 30 minutes to “excavate.”) If all of these fail, I will let them watch an episode of Mary Kate and Ashley's detective show - yes, the same ones that I used to watch as a child! They are slow, interactive TV shows that are actually pretty educational, and I don't mind if they watch an episode or two a day.

Every season of motherhood comes with its own challenges, and I know what works for our family might look a little different for yours. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past couple of months, it’s that the little things matter. A five-minute makeup routine, a stocked snack drawer, a simple Sunday prep session - they may seem small, but together they’ve helped our days feel calmer and a whole lot more enjoyable.

It’s hard to believe we’re already talking about back-to-school season! I feel like summer just started. I will say, as much as I love summer, there’s something so exciting about the fresh start that comes with a new school year. New routines, fresh supplies, cute outfits, and all the little traditions that make the first day feel so special. (Not to mention the fact that it means fall is on the way!)

I thought it would be fun to put everything in one place - from outfit ideas for moms and teacher gift inspiration to first-day decor and some of my favorite back-to-school finds from Amazon and Target. I hope this roundup helps make getting ready for the new school year just a little bit easier!!

Getting Ready for the First Day

To kick off the school year, I let each of the girls pick out a new backpack and then had their names monogrammed on them! Collins chose this one, and Kennedy loved this one. Of course, I couldn’t resist getting them matching water bottles too - this one for Collins and this one for Kennedy. I always think those little personalized touches make back-to-school feel extra special and exciting for kids! I also grabbed these floral bento lunch boxes (and this one!), along with the matching sandwich cutters to make packing lunches a little more fun.

For outfits, I ordered them some monogrammed school clothes from Cecil and Lou for their first week, as well as some Amazon play sets that are cute but not too expensive in case they get dirty on the playground. I also ordered each of them a new raincoat for the year, and these personalized name labels have become one of my favorite mom hacks. We stick them on jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles and sweaters... basically anything that might get left behind at school. They've saved us from losing so many things!

Making the First Day Feel Special

One of my favorite traditions is making the first morning of school feel like a little celebration! This is a picture from our 2025 first day of school set-up for the girls, but it was one of the girls favorite parts of the day! This year, I couldn't resist browsing Target's back-to-school section, and they have the cutest things! I picked up these adorable first day of school balloons and school bus balloon to decorate with. I also got these notebook paper plates and colored pencil napkins to create another fun breakfast setup. It's nothing over the top, but I love adding a few little touches that make the first day feel extra special!

Books We’re Reading Before School Starts

If your little one is nervous about starting school this year (or even just loves all things school!), these are the books we read leading up to the first day! We just pulled them all back out for their playroom shelf to start reading for this year!

Teacher Gifts

I always love sending the girls to school on the first day with a little something for their teachers. I know those first few weeks are busy (and probably a little overwhelming!), so it’s a fun way to let them know how much we appreciate them!

Last year, I put together these little gift boxes (seen in the image above) with a few practical goodies and some cute school-themed touches, and they turned out so cute! This year, I found the sweetest back-to-school accessories at Target, like these notebook and pencil earrings and this claw clip (these mini ones are adorable). I ordered these mini tote bags and am going to apply these patches to them, and fill with the goodies from Target (along with fun things like a Starbucks gift card and a pack of gum).

I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but my shopping completely shifts. Even though it’s still blazing hot outside, I always start thinking ahead to fall and lately my online shopping carts have been reflecting that haha.

Instead of buying heavy sweaters and boots, I’ve been looking for those in-between pieces that work right now but will also carry me into the next season. Think lightweight layers, rich brown tones, fun accessories, and pieces that instantly make an outfit feel a little more “fall” without making you sweat.

I love the light beige color of this one because you can go ahead and start wearing it now, but it will transition beautifully into the fall as well (I can really see it paired with chocolate brown!). Reminds me so much of Hermès but without the price tag!

This sherpa is so cute, looks very similar to Free People but a little girlier with the tiny flowers all over! Even though I'm buying this with fall in mind, I can see myself wearing it around the house now since it is ALWAYS cold in my house.

These look sooo similar to a Miu Miu pair, but they're less than $50! I love that they're backless because it makes for the perfect transitional shoe - you can go ahead and start wearing them now! I can REALLY see these in the fall with a good pair of jeans, though!

I really want these rectangular Miu Miu sunglasses, but I don't want to spend the full amount of money until I know that I would really wear and love them! Enter: the amazon dupes. They look JUST like the real pair and now I can try them out and make sure they look good on me before investing in the real deal!

I loveee these chunky gold earrings and especially the fact that they're less than $15! These are the perfect way to dress up a simple outfit - like a tee and a really good fitting pair of jeans. I can see myself wearing these all of fall!

Polka Dot Top

This top is SO chic and looks more like Zara than it does like Amazon! I can see this top styled now with denim shorts and into cooler weather with jeans, black pants, under a cardigan, etc!

Brown Jelly Sandals

Umm jelly sandals for fall - I'm obsessed! I love the color of these!! Since it stays hot in the south for a long time (even into October), I can see myself wearing these a ton just for everyday mom life (like school drop off and play dates).

Lace Hem Pants

These pants are SO cute and have really good reviews - I currently have them in my cart in two different colors because I couldn't decide! I think this type of pant will be a huge trend for autumn. They're so easy to style, too - just throw on a tee or a tank and denim jacket!

Happy Friday! I can’t believe it’s already time for another Friday Favorites… one of my favorite posts to write, since they feel more personal. The last one I wrote was the week Eleanor was born, and somehow the past month has completely flown by! Between soaking up newborn snuggles, surviving on coffee, trying on fall clothes, and discovering a few new favorites along the way, I have lots to catch you up on. Here are a few of the things I’ve been loving lately!

Baby Snuggles

I am realllly enjoying baby snuggles with Miss Eleanor. I cry almost every single day thinking about how she is our last baby! Even though the newborn stage *is* hard, I am trying to cherish every single second - and she really is such a chill baby! She is still sleeping in her bassinet right beside our bed and (so far) has been our best sleeper! Since I have to breastfeed her every couple of hours, she seriously does not leave my side - even as I type this, she is asleep on my lap wrapped up in her favorite blanket. If I do have to run out, I just bring her with me - this stroller/car seat combo is truly worth its weight in gold and allows me to easily take her on the go. In fact, I took her to Trader Joe’s with me the other day JUST to grab more watermelon drinks (read on for more info on that lol). If you’re on the fence about having a third baby - DO IT! I feel so much more confident as a mom and am TRULY able to go with the flow and enjoy my baby without all the postpartum anxiety that I experienced in the past.

Thinking About Fall!!!

I know it's literally the middle of summer, but every year the Nordstrom Sale gets me so excited for fall! I already stocked up on boots and sweaters for the upcoming season (see what I bought here), and I'm seeing other retailers come out with their new fall arrivals, like Target. You know I had to order these adorable fall clogs and I'm swooning over their fall home new arrivals! You can bet that I'll be slowly preparing for fall from here on out. It doesn't help that it is SO hot and muggy right now, I can barely stand to be outside - I can't help but daydream about the days when I feel the leaves crunch under my boots, or feel that crisp chill in the air! Please tell me that I'm not the only one?! Haha.

Leopard Flats

These leopard flats were the #1 item on my Wish List before the Nordstrom Sale opened - and they are just as good as I imagined! I love the added detail of the rhinestones, and because they are brown, they're basically a neutral. I am already picturing them styled with a dozen outfits this fall - see an example here! If you missed out on them, I found an Amazon pair that is suuuuper similar. I even ordered them to make sure they were high quality and they 1000% passed the test! This post shows the comparison between the two.

Survival Shows

LOL. I can't believe I'm typing this, but I'm OBSESSSSSED with shows having to do with surviving in the wilderness right now! It all started with this show on Netflix - I turned it on randomly one day while breastfeeding Eleanor, and by the second episode, I was absolutely hooked. It ended up being one of the best television shows I've ever watched! That led me to searching out more "survival" type TV shows, and I found the show Alone - another instant obsession! So much so that my husband even threw me an "Alone" themed birthday party this year - haha! Eleanor takes a really long time to put down at night, so my favorite thing to do is turn off all the lights, turn on Alone, and rock Eleanor while watching my show. It's a total escape from your everyday life!

A New Drink

I feel like every couple of months, a new drink obsession makes it into my Friday Favorites. I don't drink much alcohol, but I really get tired of plain water, so I love having a "fun" drink to look forward to at the end of the day. My current favorite drink is this watermelon sparkling water from Trader Joe's - it has really simple ingredients (it's mainly just watermelon juice) but it's really fizzy and sweet and SOOO yummy. It's my current fave!!!

I hope you all have the best weekend! I'll be spending mine soaking up baby snuggles, trying to stay cool in this miserable heat, and probably watching another episode (or five 😅) of Alone!!!

One thing nobody tells you about having a newborn? You’ll do a lot of online shopping between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. 😂

Between the (multiple) middle of the night feedings and rocking Eleanor back to sleep, I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit scrolling my favorite retailers. Some of these purchases were things I genuinely needed, some were "I've been wanting to try this forever" finds, and a few were simply because they looked too cute to pass up.

So if you’ve ever wondered what ends up in my cart while the rest of the house is asleep... here’s my latest 3 a.m. shopping haul. Hopefully you’ll find a few new favorites, too!

Caffeine eye patches - I ordered these from the NSALE when I saw that they were still in stock. I've really been wanting to try these since I love using eye patches in the morning while drinking my coffee - and I REALLY need them right now with a newborn!

Barefoot Dreams shawl cardigan - I have a leopard one (it’s similar to this robe) from the NSALE five years ago that I've been wearing a ton around our house lately, and it really needed an upgrade! Even though it's hot outside, we keep our air conditioning really low so it's always cold in our house. I love throwing a cozy cardigan on over a summer set or sundress, and the Barefoot Dreams ones are so nice because they are SO soft. Eleanor likes it when I wear them to hold her!

Lace shorts - I keep seeing lace shorts everywhere on the cutest fashion girlies! I ordered this pair off Amazon before investing in a nice pair to make sure I like the trend. I have actually seen them styled a lot for fall, too, with an oversized sweater, so I think I'll get a lot of wear out of these!

Clip-on fan for me - Eleanor has a nice big fan for her stroller, but I realized that I really wanted one for myself! This clip-on fan is the PERFECT size, can strap right on to my top or a baby carrier and I keep it pointed at my face or neck for an instant cool-down. I like to wear this on our morning walks!

Baby girl outfit - Literally the cutest EVER and I can't believe I found it on Amazon! I love all of the different color and pattern options, especially for less than $20.

Cutest portable sound machine - Shaped like a flower and works great! I keep it attached to her diaper bag, but have also attached it many other places including her bassinet and the stroller. It’s only $20!

New coloring book (for myself!) - If you've been following me for any length of time you know I love my Coco Wyo coloring books! They just came out with Girl Moments volume three so I added it to my cart IMMEDIATELY!

I have a feeling this won’t be my last 3 a.m. shopping haul... 😂 If these middle-of-the-night feedings continue, there will definitely be a part two!

So today I wanted to round up a few of the outfits I’ve loved putting together. These are all built around pieces that I genuinely think are worth buying while they’re on sale because I know they’ll become staples in my closet. I’m starting off with this look because this jacket is one of my favorite buys of the sale!! I always love to grab a Barbour jacket, and I immediately grabbed this cream one because the color and details are SO good - like that oversized collar and the beautiful brushed gold hardware. Also, don’t skip out on this tee (especially because it’s only $23). It looks so much better in person - I ended up getting it in all three colors. A great layering piece to wear now (and in all seasons, honestly). Lastly, I know these jeans are sold out right now, but if they come back… BUY THEM. They are my favorite! Since they’re sold out, I would say this pair is the most similar option (see how I styled them here).

This is one of my all-time favorite looks! This is the only pair of white jeans I bought from the sale and I’m obsessed with them. They’re super flattering and not see-through at all. Now I know this top is a little pricier, but it’s almost $100 off!! I love the cropped length because it looks cute tucked into pants without being bulky, and it’s such a soft color palette, it can be worn any season.

Yes, this jacket is a splurge!! However, it’s SOOO good in person. You can tell it’s a designer jacket and made of real suede! I love seeing the gold buttons and zippers inside and, of course, I love the season’s hottest hue: chocolate brown. I also have to tell you about this tee because I finally have a white shirt that isn’t see-through!!!! I’m about to buy a few more to make sure I always have one. A white tee is a closet staple. Again, these jeans are sold out, but this pair is the best similar option for fit and wash (see how I styled them here).

This is a look you could wear now for a fun date night or girls dinner… just layer the jacket on your shoulders if it’s chilly at night or leave at home altogether. The brown boots and the brown in the bag look so cute together!

I think this is such a chic and easy look to throw on and go, and you could definitely wear this now!! The sweater looks so cute when worn over the shoulders to give a little pop of color to any outfit. It’s super soft and cozy – not itchy at all! See how I styled the sweater another way here. This sweater is a blend of organic cotton and sooo soft! I don’t think it’s too thick to wear now. It’s actually the perfect transitional sweater since it’s short-sleeve. The color in person is a really gorgeous green, and I absolutely love the green with the pop of zebra print on the belt. These jeans are still in stock in all sizes and I’m kind of surprised because they’re one of my favorite finds. I will definitely be wearing these throughout the rest of summer with tees and cute tanks, and then of course, into the fall and winter. They have the perfect slouch and I love the dark wash.

I hope these outfits gave you a few ideas for how to style some of this year’s best finds! One thing I always try to keep in mind when I’m shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is cost per wear. I’d much rather invest in a few really great pieces that I know I’ll reach for again and again than fill my closet with trendy items I’ll only wear for one season.

It’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale day!!! This is one of my favorite days of the year. I genuinely love shopping this sale and hunting down the best finds to share with y’all. There’s something so fun about putting together fall outfits and getting excited for a new season, but I also always keep an eye out for pieces you can start wearing right away and simply layer with a jacket once the weather cools down.

One category I know can feel especially overwhelming is denim. There are SO many options, and since jeans were one of the first categories to sell out last year, I wanted to tackle that first.

I tried on as many pairs as I could, compared the fits, paid attention to sizing, and narrowed it down to the pairs I genuinely loved. Not all of the jeans I got made it into this post… I am trying on outfits at home as we speak and will be posting all of the outfits and jeans I bought tonight! Below you’ll find a few of my favorites, along with honest fit notes and sizing advice to (hopefully!) make shopping the sale a whole lot easier.

Pistola Lana High Waist Wide Leg Jeans

I’m leading with these jeans because these were the #1 seller during the 2025 NSALE and they sold out within a few days! I’m so excited they’re back this year (just in a darker wash). They are truly one of my favorite pairs of jeans! They have a super high waist and a nice, faded wash that paired well with every single top I tried on.

AG Adria Low Rise Wide Leg Jeans

Low rise jeans are backkk! (Who remembers these from the 2000s?) Low rise jeans are the “it” style for this season, but as a mom of three kids, I don’t love how they look on me. However, I do love this pair! These were the only low-rise jeans I bought from the sale. The dark wash keeps them very classy, and although they’re baggy, I still find them super flattering. I can see me wearing these a ton in the fall!

These jeans are just a CLASSIC. They fit perfectly in all the right places and they even lift your booty! They also make your legs look long with the slim, flare shape. They are universally flattering on everyone!! The material feels so soft, too, which is a definite plus.

PAIGE Leenah High Waist Wide Leg Jeans

These are the only white jeans I got from the sale! I needed a new pair of white jeans desperately and these are perfectly on trend with wide legs. They’re not see-through at all, and they’re not too white so you could definitely wear them into fall and winter. I really love them paired with dark brown accessories!

Reformation Cary Slouchy High Rise Wide Leg Jeans

These jeans are a very dark wash with zero distressing, which I love for fall! They fit on the baggier side but I kept my true size (if you want these to be more fitted, I would size down one size). These have a retro feel and look SO good with a belt (I tried on a few belts with them in the dressing room!). The price is also REALLY good for these jeans - they feel really sturdy and nicely made.

I’m heading to Nordstrom tomorrow bright and early (with a baby in tow, LOL) and my first stop is the denim department!! The denim is what sold out first last year, so if you have your eye on a pair, I HIGHLY recommend buying it as soon as you can. I’ll be trying on as many pairs of jeans as I can so I can compare fits, sizing, and favorites, and I’ll send that out to you first thing in the morning!

Denim, Denim, Denim - I am crushing on so many pairs of jeans in the sale this year and am DYING to get into the store to try them on. The pairs that stand out as my immediate favorites are these barrel leg jeans and these wide leg jeans. I’m not back to my pre-pregnancy weight yet, and these styles look super slimming and flattering.

Scalloped Robe - Aside from the denim, this robe will be the first purchase I make. I desperately need a new cozy robe for the fall and this one of the most beautiful robes I’ve ever seen!! I LOVE the scalloped edges and I already know it will be super soft - Barefoot Dreams can do no wrong.

Oversized Diamond Necklace - I am head over heels obsessed with this cubic zirconia necklace. It’s a great price and it’s SO unique - I can actually see this being the “it” necklace of the fall!

JW Pei Handbags - JW Pei is probably my all-time favorite handbag brand. Their bags are always so chic and designer-inspired, yet the price tag is always insanely reasonable! This year I have my eye on this brown suede beauty and this muted green tote. They are the perfect tones for fall!

“Ziger” Print - If there is one trend that stood out from the NSALE preview this year, it is most definitely ziger print (a mix between zebra and tiger). Look out for this print on everything from shoes to dresses and handbags. The three items that really snagged my eye are this ziger print belt, these mules and this tasteful clutch.

Heart Pendant Necklace - This is the updated version of last year’s heart necklace (seen here). I ended up wearing last year’s version all year long and it’s even made it into lots of my summer outfits! This year’s necklace looks similar but the chain is a lot longer - I can’t wait to snag the new, updated version.

Trench Coat - A classic, oversized trench should be in every girl’s wardrobe for fall. This one is such a staple and nearly $100 off! I can already picture it over a dozen fall outfits.

A few months ago, I asked on Instagram what your “juicy” questions were - so today I wanted to answer a few! Hopefully, these answers don’t disappoint you haha because I don’t feel like I’m that “juicy” of a person with a lot of secrets! But here ya go!

Q: Does Chris still work for Hanes?

No, he does not! Chris resigned from his Director position at Hanes in 2023 and now works full time with me as the CFO of our business. He definitely does a lot of number crunching and analytics, but he wears a lot of other hats, too - he’s head of our HR department (lol) and he’s our Director of Humor (double lol) because he’s the brains behind a lot of our funny videos. I’m so thankful for the many other things he does as well, even when it has nothing to do with our business - like fixing things around the house or cooking us dinner nightly. When we first got married, I NEVER envisioned us working together, but somehow it really does work for us - we usually work in our separate offices but then get together for meetings and to film videos throughout the day. Also - when Chris worked for Hanes, he hardly got to see our children - and now he gets to spend WAY more quality time with them! That has been the biggest blessing of all!!!

Q: What worked conception wise for baby #3?

We were already doing a lot of things “right,” like cutting out alcohol, eating home-cooked, organic meals, and eliminating toxins in our daily routines. I also used the Oura ring to track my basal body temperature, which helped pinpoint exactly when I was ovulating and helped us time everything correctly. However, we didn’t actually conceive until I fully stopped breastfeeding Collins! Every woman’s body is different - I know some women have no trouble conceiving even while breastfeeding - but I am not one of those women. I think my body was expending a lot of energy making breastmilk and it didn’t have a lot of spare energy to put towards building a thick uterine wall in which to implant a fertilized egg. So, for us, this was the key factor that made a difference in us conceiving baby #3!

Q Can you tell us more about influencer pay?

Yes! What do you want to know? Haha. Our business has two avenues for generating income! The first is through sponsored posts - when we partner with a brand that we love (whether that’s through an Instagram Reel, Stories or a TikTok video), and we get paid a flat fee for doing so. Usually the flat fee correlates to the amount of work required and the size of the audience/views. The other way we get paid is through commissionable links. You’ve probably heard me talk about the LTK app over and over again - what’s so nice about LTK is that I get to shop and pick out outfits that I love (and I spend my own money to do so!), and then I can link up the outfit in the LTK app. Whenever anyone clicks on a link of mine and buys the item, I make a small commission. I’m going to be honest here and say that in the beginning days of blogging, commission rates were really good! I’m talking 20 or 30%. Since then, they’ve really decreased (most commission rates now are around 5% or less), however if you do have a large audience that is clicking/buying a lot, you can still make really good money.

Q: Would you encourage your kids to be influencers?

I’ve told my children since they were born that they can be whatever they want to be when they grow up! My parents instilled this in me since I was little, and I always felt there was nothing stopping me from becoming ANYTHING I wanted to be, whether that was an astronaut or a veterinarian. That mindset has served me well my entire life, because I truly believe that whatever I want to do (even now as a 36-year-old), I could accomplish! All that being said, I would definitely encourage my kids to look at other options rather than becoming influencers, haha. If they are set on it, then that’s great! But, there are so many amazing career options out there, and I want my kids to discover something that they are truly passionate about. Plus, there are a lot of downsides to being an influencer that most people don’t consider. You really open yourself up to a lot of criticism and a lot of your privacy is compromised. Who knows what the industry will look like in another 20 years, anyways!

Q: Cosmetic work and treatments you’ve had done?

Less than you’d think... haha. I did have rhinoplasty ten years ago now, which I have never regretted for a day! I’ve never talked a lot about this because I didn’t want anyone to think I was promoting plastic surgery - it was a deeply personal decision, and one that I made for myself and for my confidence (after years and years of thinking about it and researching it). The only other thing I’ve had done is Botox - and only in my forehead! I do really love how this looks and I love not being able to make frown lines. Unfortunately I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding for so long, that it’s been a LOOOONG time since I’ve had any injected haha. I’m looking forward to getting it again one day soon! I’ve never had any type of filler injected because it scares me that it will stay in my face forever.

Q: What cosmetic work you would consider?

I think one day I will decide to have an upper blepharoplasty (an eyelid lift), I can tell such a difference in my eyelids in just the past couple of years - all of a sudden, I have wrinkles and excess skin on my outer eyelids that simply didn’t exist before. If I’m being honest, I can’t stand how it looks - it makes me look so tired!! I will probably wait and let it get “worse” before having surgery, though! Maybe another ten years?? (In the meantime, this product does really help.) The other thing I could see myself getting eventually is a fat transfer to my face (rather than filler) - as you age, you lose a lot of volume in your face. A fat transfer is more invasive because the surgeon harvests your own fat (from areas like your abdomen or thighs) and purifies it before injecting it into your face, but it can help achieve really natural volume without any use of fillers. I listened to this podcast all about aging gracefully + the best “natural” surgeries and it was a really good listen!!

Q: How do you lose the baby weight?

For starters, I am still not back to my pre-pregnancy weight! I know that your body tends to hang on to weight more and more with each pregnancy, but I’m not stressed about it at all! I know that this was my last pregnancy, and I’m truly giving myself time to just enjoy my baby right now. I’m also focused on breastfeeding and not actively trying to work out or lose weight because I don’t want it to affect my milk supply. All that being said, I do think I have a couple of habits that kept me healthy during and post-pregnancy. First, I go on a walk nearly every day! I loveee walking and it also does wonders for my mental health (especially if I can start the day with a walk). Now that Eleanor is here, I pop her into the stroller and we both go for a walk. We also eat very healthy as a family. We try not to eat a lot of processed foods in general, and Chris makes a homemade meal every night of the week (and we usually have the leftovers for lunch the next day). I’m a big fan of intuitive eating - I try to really listen to my body and eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full. This also means I don’t deprive myself! If I want a piece of chocolate, I eat it. All things in moderation!

Does anyone else feel like this summer is FLYING by?! Maybe it’s because we’ve been in newborn land (and some of the days blend together haha), but I can’t believe we’re already a week into July! We’ve been loving all of the family time at home, but have also started venturing out to do some of our usual activities like the weekend farmers market trips. Slowly getting into the swing of things with 3 kids!!!

UPPAbaby Stroller

I’ve been going on walks with Eleanor so much and thankful for this stroller! We have the V2 and have had it since before Kennedy was born - it has held up so well and looks and feels basically brand new, even after using it with three kids. The wheels are so nice and smooth! This is another one of my favorite Target finds from June! This dress is so pretty and has so many unique details, I was shocked it was Target! I love all of the lace trim. Our Full Bedroom Refresh

I've really been loving the UGG pink blanket in Himalayan Salt (I can tell Eleanor likes it too!). The baby bassinet was one of the first things I bought when I found out I was pregnant because I knew I wanted to have a small bassinet in our room, and I loved how this one had wheels so I could move it around the house, if needed. I also love how it matches the furniture in our bedroom. Eleanor has been sleeping really well in it at night especially when I put the heating pad in it and heat it up for her a little bit (I take the heating pad out before putting her in of course). The breakfast tray has also been sooo nice during this postpartum season! Chris has served me breakfast on it a few mornings so I could stay in bed longer!! Shop the full refresh here.

Loving Tan 10 Minute Express Self-Tanning Lotion - I feel like this goes without saying, but this is one of my all-time favorite beauty finds. I always keep it stocked at my house, and as soon as I'm running low, I reorder. The 10-minute version is new this year, and I've been loving it when I want a quick boost of color. I still use my 2 hour express tanning mousse when I need a deeper tan. If you want to see exactly how I apply it for the most natural-looking glow, read my guide for self-tanning here.

Pink Beaded Phone Strap - I just started using a strap on my phone and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go without! Holding a newborn and carrying my phone like a bracelet has been a lifesaver. This is the one I’m carrying right now, but I love this one from Target for $15!

Designer-Inspired Pink Handbag - I cannot believe the quality of this handbag for less than $30! I have loved carrying this colorway so much because it adds the perfect pop of color. Do I need another pink handbag in the same style? Probably not. Do I have it in my cart? Yes, I do.

BaubleBar Beaded Pink Necklace - You all know how much I have loved wearing the BaubleBar Joan necklace this spring and summer (more colors linked here)… I think I have 5 or 6 colors now! I saw they released a new version called the Jane that has multi-color beads and I immediately bought the pink. I love the 2-color combo and the natural markings on the light pink beads. For less than $70, you really can’t go wrong with any of the BaubleBar beaded necklaces.

LSPACE Straw Bucket Hat - One of my favorite hats got released in this stripe pattern and I immediately added it to my cart! If you saw my post that went out last week about the top trends for summer, you know I live in bucket hats in the summer. They’re easy and chic, and the stripe pattern on this one adds such a cute, subtle detail.

Tory Burch Gold Bracelet - This looks identical to the designer one we all know and love, but is a fraction of the price. This is a cute layering piece to have on in your bracelet stack. It comes in a few color options, too.

Orchid Earrings - These are the perfect-sized earrings, in my opinion. They’re subtle enough to wear every day, but still make a statement. I have the gold pair in my cart, but they also come in silver.

Stanley x LoveShackFancy Cup - I love both the yellow and pink colorway in this cup! If you didn’t see, LoveShackFancy is doing another collab with Target that launches on 7/5 at 6am EST. I’ll be sharing the best finds as soon as it launches, but wanted to share the preview page here.

Paddywax Bistro Candle - You know that fresh, clean smell your house has after you spend the day cleaning? That's exactly what this candle reminds me of (except we're deep in the newborn trenches over here, so our house definitely doesn't smell like that right now 😂). It has such a fresh, clean scent, and the jar is so pretty that you can reuse it once the candle is finished. It would also make such a cute hostess gift!

Handwoven Fish Purse - The fish trend is IN (this is another trend I talked about in my top trends post from last week). I love that this one is big enough to fit my phone and that it has a longer strap so I can wear it as a crossbody. Plus, the detail is so good!

Gucci Marmont Jelly Sandals - Jelly sandals are one of my tried-and-true summer staples. I wear some version of them almost every single day! I shared a few of my favorite outfits with the pairs I already own here, but this Gucci pair is one pair I don’t have (yet). I love the soft blue color, the little gold buckle detail, and the subtle logo. Maybe one day they’ll make their way into my closet!

There are a handful of trends I’ve been seeing everywhere this summer! Unlike some trends that feel a little too intimidating or short-lived, these are actually wearable and ones that aren’t going to go away as soon as I buy them. Many of them are simple accessories or small styling tweaks that can completely change an outfit without requiring a whole new wardrobe.

Chunky Beaded Necklaces

If there’s one trend I’ve fully embraced this spring and summer, it’s chunky beaded necklaces. They instantly make an outfit feel more playful and interesting, even if you’re just wearing a simple dress or basic tank and shorts. The best part is that you don’t have to spend a fortune on them… some of my favorite ones have actually come from Amazon. Jelly Flats

My love for jelly shoes is well documented at this point haha! They’re so comfortable, easy to throw on, surprisingly versatile, and add a fun nostalgic touch to summer outfits. I’ve been wearing mine constantly and still find myself constantly eyeing more pairs!! This is a trend that you can get without breaking the bank - this Amazon pair is one of my favorites lately! Bandana Prints

Bandana prints are popping up everywhere lately, from dresses and tops to handbags and accessories. I love that they add a little personality without feeling overly trendy, and they pair perfectly with summer staples like denim, linen, and simple white dresses. Oversized Sunglasses

Oversized sunglasses are having a major moment again!! Don’t get me wrong, I still love my chic, smaller frames, but I have been reaching for oversized sunglasses a lot lately! I don’t have many pics of me in my larger frames, but I have my eye on the Prada ones (2nd from the top) because I love the shape. Pops of Color

This season, I’ve been having so much fun incorporating unexpected pops of color into my outfits. Whether it’s a colorful handbag, bright flats, or pairing two colors together that you wouldn’t normally think to combine (like brown and light blue), color just makes an outfit happier. Bucket hats are back again this summer, but this year’s versions feel a little more elevated. I’ve especially been loving raffia styles and the newer versions with floral details and appliqué accents. They’re practical for sunny days (especially on vacation) but still feel stylish! Fish Trend

I know this one sounds a little random, but fish motifs are absolutely everywhere right now!! From sweaters to bags and jewelry, coastal-inspired pieces are having a major moment.
