Although it’s still 80+ degrees here in LA, the seduction of fall dressing has begun and with it, that familiar back-to-school feeling that I suppose I’ve never outgrown (shhhh I’m still 15 at heart). September makes me want a crisp new notebook, to take to cooking soups again, to reorganize my life and turn a little more inward.

In the midst of all the madness, a few things on the wellness front have been keeping me sane:

1. Getting acupuncture to ground my ever-wired nervous system.

2. Listening to a lot of this.

3. Getting a good nights sleep thanks to my emotional support magnesium. Pro tip: mix it with sparkling water and tart cherry juice for a little midweek thrill.

Onto the more material - I’m absolutely smitten with the world of Mémoire. These artfully crafted notebooks are available for pre-order on Moda.

I’ve been collecting inspiration while feverishly trying to redo our home, with my absolutely non-existent extra time.

I had the pleasure of spending an evening with Buck Mason last week celebrating their new Fall women’s collection. The guests were adorned in the collection, sporting crisp button-downs, lived-in denim and that distinctly California take on understated American classics. We return to the same beloved places, swim in the same coves, stop at the same roadside fruit stands. Life becomes wonderfully elemental: ocean, rain, sun, something cold to drink, somewhere to swim. And getting dressed follows suit - bare feet, swimsuits and anything easy to throw on for dinner.

Mostly vintage but tried to find comps for everything I packed for summer on Kauai below!!

I wore a vintage Miu Miu bikini I scored on poshmark (almost identical one linked here), along with a skirt I thrifted for $10. I’m never deterred by pieces that are too big - this skirt was falling off me when I found it but I took it to my tailor and it was so worth the extra $20 for the perfect fit!

I paired it with an amazing vintage flower I found at the California Millenary Supply. My friend Helen and I were determined to find it though it took a few tries to figure out their hours (only open in the evenings?!?!) and semi-hidden location - but it is the most magical world full of vintage handmade treasures.

I’m so happy you’re here, wherever you happen to be reading this.

I’ve been unusually, even suspiciously, happy lately. Maybe all the therapy, meditation, healers, bone broth, gratitude lists and endless tiny daily rituals are finally doing what they promised?!?!

Maybe it’s the profound peace that comes from knowing all my wedding looks have finally been secured?!

My mother was devoted to wellness long before it was en vogue. I was practically raised in health food stores, trailing behind a shopping cart filled with organic lentils, tofu and swish chard. We celebrated whenever we stumbled upon a natural spring to refill our glass bottles and there was always a tincture, tea, or herbal remedy for nearly every ailment.

Somewhere along the way (and after much rebellion) I became just like her.

Now no matter where I am in the world, I instinctively find myself mapping to the nearest health food store. They all seem to share the same comforting atmosphere: the unmistakable scent of patchouli and dried herbs, cedarwood shelves lined with amber glass bottles, community bulletin boards layered with yoga classes and acupuncture flyers and endless rows of supplements quietly promising to transform your life.

Over the years, I’ve accumulated a handful of products that I repurchase almost without thinking. So consider this a guide to the health food store luxuries that have earned a permanent place in my basket.

SKINCARE HOLY GRAILS:

Most of the time I’m alternating between these two as my daily moisturizer. Rosehip seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins C and E and beta-carotene, fading hyperpigmentation, supporting the skin barrier AND! Offering retinol-like benefits!!!

Jojoba oil doesn’t clog pores, helps balance oil production, calms inflammation and even improves elasticity and barrier healing (rich in vitamin E). If only I was sponsored for this endorsement. I love that you can find them anywhere and for under $15.

If I had to choose just one health food store staple, it would be this Rosewater Hydrating Mist. This makes me feel glowy and hydrated. I love it as a midday refresh, to seal in makeup or just to add a last bit of hydration over my nighttime skincare. I’ve probably repurchased 20+ times!!!

I love living librations products, they all feel magical and so thoughtfully crafted. This Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever and Rose Glow Serum are my faves!!

This is the most delicious smelling Coconut Lotion that absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy. It’s also $12.99 which I love so I don’t need to feel precious about going through it so often.

INTERNAL HEALTH:

Not only are these herbal remedies effective but they’re small enough to keep in a purse or carry-on (I love deep daily stress as a nervous flyer). Emotional ally is marketed is as “a big herbal hug”, perfect if you’re prone to anxiety like little miss me!!

Much to my delight, many health food stores have herbs in bulk. I am totally mesmerized by the world of herbal infusions and love to sip on Nettle, Oatstraw and Hibiscus infusions whenever I can.

I’m a complete amateur in this arena, but what I can say is I started drinking infusions for their beautifying effects and have since come to crave it because it feels so nourishing on a deep level.

A long-steeped Nettle infusion is a concentrated dose of B-complex vitamins as well as minerals and antioxidants. Oatstraw my other favorite is a great friend to stress, supporting the nervous system. And beauty queen Hibiscus is antioxidant rich, lowers blood pressure and reduces oxidative stress. I love mixing them with a little honey and pouring over ice especially in this Summer heat.

The windows have been thrown open from morning until night and the days have taken on that distinctly summer quality of dissolving into one another. Life has been wonderfully full with wedding planning, auditions, freelance work, and catching friends whenever possible!!

I recently rewatched La Piscine, surrendering once again to its languid, sun-drenched spell. I’ve always been enchanted by these photographs of Alain Delon and Romy Schneider on the set of the movie.

They had already been separated for five years by the time they were taken, yet their chemistry is still so palpable. It’s said that Delon specifically requested Romy Schneider as his scene partner and somehow that knowledge makes the images even more poignant - a reunion suspended somewhere between fiction and real life. Summer muses!!!!

I found this incredible antique textile and have been wearing it as a shawl. It’s such a fun addition to a simple outfit.

With so many extraordinary designers reinterpreting the past and so many immensely talented artisans creating bespoke gowns today, there were plentyyyy of moments when I considered buying something new instead.

But I've also come to love the hunt. The craftsmanship is so often unmatched, and while it usually requires a little faith (and sometimes a lotttt of tailoring) to breathe new life into a old garment, to me it's nearly impossible to capture the romance of another era in something new.

With the help of the most talented stylist, queen Madeline Isaacs (who has helped me source nearly every piece for my wedding, god bless her!) I’ve spent the better part of our year-long engagement tumbling down the vintage bridal rabbit hole. I often joke that I truly needed every single day of our year long engagement to spend feverishly shopping.

I swear I spend the year biding my time until Summer rolls around. I appreciate every season of course, but at heart, I’m a summer girl!!!!

I love the simplicity of this time of year - the permission to wear almost nothing, to leave the house with damp hair, to relish in languorous dinners with friends.

I wait for nectarines to return to the market, for nights too hot to sleep (a 1920s bungalow without A/C will be charming, they said), for magnolia stems to spill onto the streets like match sticks.

Everything feels a little softer, a little slower, a little richer. The days stretch. The light lingers. Even ordinary moments seem touched by abundance.

Summer always reminds me how generous life can be.

More often than not, I tryyyy to consult my own inner compass. Whether it’s through walking, meditating, journaling, or talking a friend’s ear off (bless them), I can usually find my way to the answers I need.

This fringe skirt from Leoní is a dream.

Who knew there was an option for a chic red light mask. I trust anything Monastery touches. It’s also not an eye sore like many others, the deep red is sexyyyy.

My unbelievably thoughtful friends got me an Elsa Peretti bone cuff for my birthday. I can’t believe I get to wear one of her designs - it feels like a wearable sculpture.

I found another great one on the real real. This simple bangle by Sophie Buhai is gorgeous. This one is equally perfect. Another similar gem here for under $180.

After doing a deep dive on her life and work, I followed an intuitive hunch to look up Elsa Peretti's birthday. I wasn't the least bit surprised to find she's a Taurus. From her design, to her interiors, the sweeping, sun-drenched life she built for herself encapsulates all the pure Taurus energy that I aspire to.

I've long been devoted to Santa Maria Novella but I hadn't tried their Armenia paper. It’s otherworldly - It feels so special to light before a meditation. A great little addition to any gift too.

A Emery is making the perfect classic sandal. I'm torn between the black and the cream - honestly might need both. An easy, timeless summer staple.

Dôen sent me a few pieces from their new collection and I've been living in them. All easy, breezy things you'll want to throw on all summer.

My sweet friend (and hopefully future sister in law - we date cousins lol) gifted me one of her latest magical flower essences. This one was crafted to support ‘beauty in beingness', dissolving any distance between you and your wholeness. Yesssss please. It will be available June 7! Being intentional with dosing myself multiple times a day feels like a lovely little ceremony amidst the business of everyday life.

I had the chance to preview the Marilyn Monroe exhibit at the Academy Museum with Chanel Beauty last week (it opens tomorrow, 5/31!) Seeing notes scrawled in her scripts and hearing her voice talk about her work truly brought me to tears. It felt incredibly intimate. Famously, when asked in 1952 Life interview what she wore to bed, she said simply: "I only wear Chanel No. 5." What could be more Venusian than that.

Why resist the chance to sport a bangle, a little vintage purse or a pair of big sunglasses?! And yet, as thrilling as that all is, nothing excites me more than adorning my hair.

My #1 ally is a headscarf. It’s as elegant as it is indispensable - ready to rescue a bad hair day, disguise a dirty one, or breathe life into an outfit that feels otherwise dull.

This Toteme scarf is at the top of my wishlist. I love the stripes and it’s still neutral enough to be a wardrobe staple. This COS scarf is also so sweet at a more manageable price point. Would be cute over a skirt or pants too!

Celine equestrian dream scarf for $75?! And another great one here and on sale. If you give a mouse a vintage Celine scarf, she’s gonna neeeed a convertible to go with it.

Then of course there’s the winter headscarf. Sorry, I know it’s May so I’ll be brief - but it’s important to give credit where credit is due!! This is perfect if you’re a gal like me who has impossibly cold ears and absolutely no business wearing a beanie.

This is particularly adorable for cold weather layering, I love the extra long tie detail and veryyy cute styled with a leather jacket. Similar for 1/4 of the price linked here.

This one by Almina Concept has been my go-to all winter/spring. Cute with a trench coat on a rainy day and doubles as great frizz protection.

An actual scarf or sweater draped overhead has its own certain je ne sais quoi as illustrated above by Monica Vitti. This one is a dream. COS makes a lovely one at a really great price point for cashmere too.

I’m very much coveting this big barrette by Lié Studio as well as this one. Nothing makes me want to grow my hair out like seeing a photo of thick long hair with a couple pieces pulled back by a clip!!

This is the best claw clip hands down. They have exquisite colors, it’s comfortable and I’ve yet to have one break. For a more dressed up, pulled-back moment, I’d opt for this one by Sophie Buhai. The fan detail is so unique.

I adore the above photo of Penelope Cruz - a scrunchie and a low bun is just chefs kiss to me. This oversized organza scrunchie is fabuloussssss. And this scrunchie by Sophie Buhai feels like an elevated, sophisticated take on utilitarian scrunchie. Similar here and on sale.

I always return to this photo of my mom in the 90s on the red carpet. Her whole outfit is to die for but cmon with little flower clips!! It’s my dream to recreate this look.

This one by Toteme is so timeless. This one by J crew is great and causal - imagining wearing while tending to my hypothetical garden. A Ralph Lauren baseball hat is just such an easy forever closet staple.

Then of course there’s the hair itself being THE main act.

My holy grail hair products:

I use this mask once a week and it has been a godsend in healing my over-processed hair, really nourishing for dry ends! Roz’s leave-in Milk Serum and Santa Lucia Oil are also true daily drivers for me, if you will.

I love to throw this all in my Saie cosmetic case - it’s worth mentioning that the interior organizer is removable and can be washed. Huge if you, like me, have been victimized by an overseas foundation explosion.

I regret to admit The Dyson air wrap is in fact worth every penny. Despite definitely not using it to its full potential, I make attempts near daily.

I adore this hair towel from Crown Affair. To be totally honest I don’t have a damn clue what it does - more gentle than a normal towel?? But my hair has improved since using and that is all the evidence I need to endorse it. I also love their hairbrush - similar to a Maison Pearson in that it’s a perfect life-long warranty kind-of purchase and you’ll simply never have to think about buying another brush again. I also keep this little angel in my purse.

Happy spring <3 The streets of LA are dusted with jacaranda blooms, the days are stretching longer and theres a feeling of renewal and lightness in the air.

Here are some things I’ve been wearing, coveting, thinking about and listening to lately:

I’ve been wearing my Flore Flore v-necks near daily. All their tees and tanks are the best and so well made. I pair them with my Dorsey earrings which are such a fun way to elevate any casual outfit.

I’ve been dying to try a facial at the beautiful Maison La Perche here in LA. The studio looks gorgeous and they have a diamond glow - which is something I’ve been recommended time and time again for wedding skin prep.

I discovered Laoli a few months ago and have been smitten with this piece. I feel like this is such a fun addition to any outfit but especially for spring/summer dressing.

This set of lacquer lamps and vintage silk tapestry from Les Themes really speak for themselves but unfortunately sold before I had a chance to jump!

I’m obsessed with this rich berry Merit lipstick. I’m famous among my friends for being a lip product connoisseur (or more honestly, addict.) This color has been in heavy rotation, making the transfer from bag to bag.

And in that same berry palette I’m sold on these Repetto flats in collaboration with Kaia Gerber.

This Miu Miu bra is an absolute dream - minus the price. Though I do feel like nice lingerie lasts forever?! Here’s a cute piece I found in search of a dupe. And here’s another semi-unrelated but equally adorable bra I came across. Bras can be shirts too you know!!

I’ve been hunting for a copy of Rosalind by Glen Luchford - a stunning collection film (230 rolls!) he shot of Kate Moss in New York City that sat untouched in boxes for nearly thirty years before finally being published. Taken in 1994 just as Kate Moss was ascending, the photos are raw yet playful - you get the sense that they were just two young artists running around New York City, creating with instinct.

I found this perfect Alice & Eugène-Louis Chanal deco pewter vase on eBay, imagining it would be lovely filled with tulips. Another sweet one linked here.

I came across this insane deer print mini skirt at the Aflalo store on a recent trip to NYC. The purpose of the trip was to find my wedding dress but pony hair mini skirts are of course a welcome distraction!!

These MNZ white heels are one of my favorite purchases as of late. I’ve been wearing them everywhere, even to the gynecologist.

Some recent Real Real finds:

Okay now digitally saging you from all that shopping with a book that completely transformed my life: The Four Agreements.

This book is so simple yet so profound.

I have the agreements written on my refrigerator, and while I still often have to remind myself to apply them, these guidelines have been such a helpful touchstone in cultivating a sense of peace for myself as I move through the world.

In summary:

1. Be impeccable with your word: speak with integrity about yourself and others. Say only what you mean. Use words to create truth, kindness and clarity over gossip, self-criticism and harm.

2. Always do your best: your best will look different depending on the day, your energy, and your circumstances. Some days it will be effortless, other days it will take everything you have. The point is not perfection, but knowing you did what was possible for you.

3. Don’t make assumptions: we suffer when we invent stories, fill in blanks, or mistake our guesses for truth. This agreement urges us to seek understanding instead of certainty built on imagination.

4. Don’t take anything personally: what others say and do is more often a reflection of their own beliefs, wounds, fears and perspective. Their actions tend to be a reflection of their own world.

Years ago I picked up the book Anam Cara by John O’Donohue. I was drawn to the melody of the phrase before I even understood its deeper meaning - a fitting beginning, perhaps, for something that now feels like spirit of this substack.

In pursuit of sharing more of my ‘innermost self, mind and heart’ on here, I have to confess:

I’ve been keeping secrets from the internet.

I was taught early on that privacy has immense value. That it can be protective, powerful, even alluring. So I learned to keep certain parts of myself offline.

But the internet invites the opposite. It urges us to define ourselves, to distill who we are into something legible.

Naturally, we fragment ourselves - encouraged to find our lane, our niche.

How can we share our entirety? Our whole, ever-evolving, deeply layered self?

As an actor this plagues me, often being urged to define my “type” by agents or casting directors.

Ultimately I think it’s a futile pursuit. We’re too multifaceted!

But lately I’ve been thinking about how to share more authentically.

The truth is:

I’m a complete wellness fanatic and spiritual junkie.

I meditate daily.

I practice buddhist philosophy.

I read Eckhart Tolle.

I’m spending too much money working with energy healers.

I’m consulting psychics and tarot card readers for guidance and indecision.

I’m listening to 432 hertz.

I’m asking angels for signs.

I’m manifesting with the moon.

I get acupuncture and make herbal infusions.

I underwent The Hoffman Process.

I once even tried to harvest Queen Ann’s Lace in lieu of taking Plan B.

And in the same breath -

I inject my face with PRF and salmon sperm (more on that later.)

I drink dirty gin martinis.

I bleach my hair.

I scroll The Real Real endlessly in pursuit of vintage Prada, Chanel and Gucci.

I’m indulging in makeup tutorials, ‘day in the life’ videos and lots of Dyson Air Wrap content.

Sometimes I even watch (in invisible ink) reality TV.

I suppose my point is that we’re capable of holding more than one truth at once.

In a world so focused on branding, sometimes I wonder if I need to embody one coherent identity.

But then I think: for who?

The spiritual and the material. The public and the private. The seeking and the consuming. They don’t oppose each other, they coexist, all parts of a whole.

So if you care as much about meditation as you do Manolos then this is for you.
