The canonical index state has moved from NARROW-DETERIORATING to FRAGILE-REPAIRING, while the underlying options surface simultaneously shows a substantially larger qualified corridor, a doubling of Carry, complete survival of the prior Carry cohort, and an expansion in measured persistence.

The significance is not simply that CRI-I™ turned positive. CRI-L™ structural capacity itself upgraded from NARROW to FRAGILE at the same time that CRI-I reversed from DETERIORATING to IMPROVING, remained ACCELERATING, and retained CONFIRMED component confirmation. Across the available 120-run index history, the exact transition from NARROW-DETERIORATING → FRAGILE-REPAIRING occurs only once: the August 24 run.

That makes the current observation an unusually strong structural inflection in the available ConvexityIQ history.

It does not mean the market has completed a structural repair. FRAGILE remains below STABLE. But the evidence now describes something materially different from the repeated narrow-regime oscillations that dominated much of the recent history.

At the same time, semiconductors and parts of large-cap technology are lagging.

This is not broad risk-on behavior. It looks more like a rotation in leadership.

ConvexityIQ™ is simultaneously resolving a materially weaker structural reading. The qualified corridor contracted from 96 to 67 names, Transition fell from 74 to 51, Carry declined from 22 to 16, and CRI-I™ dropped to 20.66 in the Destroying band. CRI-L™ remains NARROW.

Yet the surviving structure is not simply collapsing.

CIX™ increased to 12.34 days, while the remaining Carry cohort is highly concentrated near the top of the Power surface. In other words, breadth is deteriorating while the surviving structures remain relatively durable and increasingly concentrated.

That combination deserves attention.

One way this configuration can appear is around an inflection: the prior structural population contracts before a new leadership complex has had sufficient time to qualify through the persistence stack. Price can move first. Structural confirmation, by design, takes longer.

There is also an important timing distinction. The canonical ConvexityIQ™ run was captured at approximately 09:36 CDT, while much of the visible cross-asset strength developed after that snapshot. The current surface may therefore be measuring the market before today’s cross-asset move had been fully reflected in the persistence framework.

That does not establish a regime turn.

The next canonical runs provide the confirmation test. Corridor breadth would need to stabilize or expand, Carry would need to stop contracting, CRI impulse would need to improve, and new Transition leadership would need to begin promoting into persistent structure.

If those conditions appear, today’s divergence would look increasingly consistent with an early structural inflection.

If they do not, the move remains a concentrated rotation without persistence confirmation.

For now, the observation is narrower:

The market may be changing faster than the current persistence population can reconstitute.

Subscribe now

ConvexityIQ™ Ridge Report — Institutional Edition

Engine run: 2026-08-21 09:36:50 (CDT)

ConvexityIQ

This report resolves the current market-wide convexity regime from the latest canonical engine run, identifying which structures are still survivable, which are degrading, and which have failed persistence entirely.

This is not a philosophical claim. But durable leadership remains concentrated, semiconductors have not repaired, and ConvexityIQ™ continues to resolve a structurally NARROW market.

August 20, 2026 | Latest ConvexityIQ™ engine run: August 19, 2026, 09:37:53 CDT

The market is becoming more constructive without becoming broadly healthy.

The August 20 ETF surface shows expanding short-horizon participation, renewed crypto risk appetite, persistent Energy leadership and increasingly credible Healthcare strength. Precious metals remain strongly positive over the trailing window, although the complex is consolidating after an unusually strong cash session.

Technology remains the principal exception.

Broad technology is not leading. Semiconductors remain materially weaker over the trailing five-day window. Software continues to behave better than hardware, but it has not yet developed the persistence required to describe Growth as a broad leadership complex.

ConvexityIQ™ is resolving the same structure from a different data layer.

The latest canonical engine run is NARROW-REPAIRING. Structural impulse is improving, accelerating and confirmed. The corridor expanded and Carry increased. But the market still fails the persistence-density threshold required to escape the NARROW capacity state.

The emerging condition is therefore not broad Risk-On.

It is selective offense inside an improving but still constrained market structure.
