So July is actually just gonna be this cheesecake recipe bc it’s that good. Peaches & cream is one of my favorite summer flavor profiles and this recipe came to me as if in a dream so I had to test the theory immediately. Yes, it may present as slightly daunting + multi-step but I promise its worth it and if you do it over the course of 2 days its very easy. Peach Crumble Cheesecake:

Ingredients:

Crust:

• 1 8.8 oz package of biscoff cookies

• 8-10 graham crackers (1 sleeve)

• ½ cup butter (1 stick)

• Pinch of salt

Peaches:

• 10 peaches

• ½ cup brown sugar

• 1-2 tbsp vanilla bean paste (to taste)

• 1 tsp corn starch

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 1 tsp cloves

• 1 tsp nutmeg

Cinnamon Oat Crumble:

• 1 cup flour

• ½ cup oats

• 1 tbsp cinnamon

• ½ cup salted butter (melted)

• Pinch of salt

Cheesecake:

• 32 ounces full-fat block-style cream cheese, at room temp (4 block packages of philadelphia cc)

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste

• 4 large eggs, at room temp

• 3/4 cup sour cream, at room temp

• 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste

• 1 and 1/2 tsp corn starch

Recipe:

Crust:

• Combine biscoff + graham crackers in a food processor

• In a mixing bowl, pour ½ cup melted butter + a pinch of salt over biscoff/graham mixture and mix until texture resembles wet sand

• Press into buttered spring form pan, use a flat bottomed glass to smooth crust evenly

• Bake at 350 for 7-10 mins

Peaches:

• Drop whole peaches in boiling water for 3 mins, drain and transfer to ice bath

• Once cooled, peel and slice peaches

• Add sliced peaches to pan with ½ cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp vanilla bean paste, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp cloves & 1 tsp nutmeg

• Mix, add 1 tsp corn starch

• Simmer on medium-low for 5-10 mins (until sauce reaches desired consistency)

• Cool + separate into 2 parts

Cinnamon Oat Crumble:

• Pour melted butter over flour, oats, cinnamon + salt, mix until texture resembles wet sand.

• Bake at 350 for 5-7 mins

• Cool + separate into 2 parts

Cheesecake:

• In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer or immersion blender until creamy

• Add sugar & mix until well incorporated

• Add eggs one at a time, mixing until combined

• Add vanilla, sour cream, corn starch, and salt and mix until just combined.

• Pour half of the batter over the baked and cooled crust, then add 1/2 the peaches in an even layer. Sprinkle 1/2 of the cinnamon oat crumble on top. Pour the remaining cheesecake batter on top and smooth the top.

• Bake at 350 for ~1 hour (Browning around the edge is normal. When ready, cheesecake should be set but the center may still jiggle a little in the middle, it will continue to set in the fridge overnight.) ***No water bath is necessary but I put a large rectangular baking dish full of boiling water underneath the cheesecake as it baked for steam reasons/superstition and it seemed to work***

• Turn off the oven and crack the door open. Let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour before removing it (This prevents cracking.)

• Take cheesecake out of the oven and let cool at room temp for an hour, then cover and place in fridge overnight (6 hours min.)

Serving:

• Take cheesecake out of the fridge, top with remaining oat crumble and caramelized peaches (I did a ring of oat crumble around the perimeter and piled the peaches in the middle, but follow your heart)

• Trace perimeter of springform pan with a hot knife

• Release spring form pan, slice + enjoy!

I’ve been trying to replace Ami Cole’s perfect highlighter (RIP) so I actually did a lot of research on this. This one from Glossier (linked above) and HausLab’s Glassy Balm in Pure Glass are the very best. They both offer a perfect dewy summer glow that looks sexy and natural without being sticky, and neither are glittery or shimmery. They give the look of sweat + tanning oil in a very hot and summery way.

IYKYK. Every single living person’s perfect natural lip shade.

ANUA Face Mist:

• Elderflower Liqueur: (1) oz (such as St-Germain)

i got my first pair for my trip to ireland and they’re kind of a perfect shoe - as easy as a slide but somehow looks more put together. also comes in a lot of great colors and looks great on everyone. expensive, yes, but they last forever. highly recommend.

SUMMER SHEETS:

i have a really clear memory from childhood of my mom switching my bed sheets from my winter flannel to a spring/summer set. they were crisp white cotton with big red cherries painted all over and i loved them. since then, i’ve always loved marking the change of season with a bed edit. this can mean getting a new sheet set, swapping to a lighter fabric, embracing colorful patterns, or switching a duvet for a blanket. if you’re looking to splurge, this set from marimekko is cute as hell.

the price tag on these is crazy HOWEVER they really do spark daily joy. i’ve been buying 2-3 individual spoons, forks, and knives quarterly for the past few years and finally have a full fleet. so if you’re down for the fork-by-fork method, i highly recommend starting your collection now. AMA @ THE ATLAS:

best new restaurant in Boston hands down. located in The Atlas hotel, AMA is the sister restaurant to beloved (and James Beard recognized) Comfort Kitchen in Dorchester. the berbere fried chicken (pictured), pozole, and tamarind trout were the standouts, but honestly everything we had was fantastic. The same food group is set to open a new rooftop bar in the same hotel later this spring, so be on the look out for more from this team very soon!

i’m gatekeeping my specific scent bc we can’t all be out here smelling the same but you really can’t go wrong with anything they make. they’re also very generous with the samples @ the newbury st location, so i recommend getting a few to try before committing to a biggie.

IYKYK. theres only a few nearby (waltham, quincy, westwood) but they will sell you beans in any of their 14,000 flavors to take home if you ask the teen baristas nicely. all of their coffee beans are flavored but not sweetened, so you get the benefit of their flavors without the artificial syrup. i’m partial to coconut + hazelnut cinnamon but you really cant go wrong.

i was frankly annoyed to discover how well this works but if you want to sleep like a baby angel and wake up with a snatched jawline, you should rly tap in.

I’m so obsessed with this app, and I need more people to know about it. If you have a library card, you can download this for free and get access to Minuteman’s entire catalog of books and audiobooks. Only a number of copies of each title can be in rotation at a time, so you sometimes have to wait a little for your book to be available, but I’ve always been able to find something to read or listen to. Plus it means you can cancel your Audible subscription.

AIYANA GABRIELLE ON SUBSTACK:

While I put this in “free” (& it can be), you really should pay for this subscription. Aiyana is an herbalist and culinary nutritionist and her recipes and content are lovely, thoughtful, intentional and enlightening. You can also follow her on instagram, linked here.

No other single (body) skincare product has changed the game for me more than Cyklar. Every single person I’ve put on to these products has become obsessed - I recently turned two self-proclaimed shower-haters into believers after just one use. All of the scents go crazy (my favorite is Crescent, maybe skip Vanilla Verve) but its specifically the body wash + the in-shower balm that you need. A general fix for winter skin plus you’ll immediately become the best smelling person you know. Claudia Sulewski did her big one w this.

TOURISTS:

Never beating the bougie allegations especially not in this section but as far as hospitality and boutique hotels go, Tourists is undeniably one of the greats. Beautiful, thoughtful design, perfect room service, MassMoca, sexy amenities, inviting shared spaces, dog friendly, hiking trails, personal porches/balconies… she’s the one. Drinking a mezcal negroni by their pool or one of the fire pits on their lawn is peak summer joy. Check for weekdays/off season dates for discounted rates, + they also often offer discounts for MA residents or 3 night stays.

BALLERINA FARMS PROTEIN POWDER:

This fave may have an expiration date on it because I do get a sinister vibe from her millionaire husband but my god this ballerina is a genius. It’s just the best protein powder on the market. I’m not even a strawberry girl like that but the strawberry creme flavor? biiitch. Maybe it’s the genius marketing of selling it with an accompanying weck jar (for a $7 upcharge) and a subsequent slice of the Ballerina Farmer Dream, but ultimately it’s that it tastes like a fucking strawberry milkshake. I look forward to it every morning and it’s the easiest 24 grams of protein I think a person can get. Is $74 entirely too much money to spend on protein powder? Yes. Am I on a recurring monthly subscription that I can’t imagine my life without? Also yes.

LE BON SHOP SOCKS:

I care about socks more than the average person and probably more than I should but I’ve done a lot of market research and it’s my earnest belief that the Camper Socks from Le Bon Shop are as good as it gets. I’ve sent 3 separate pairs to 3 separate people in my life and each of them has *called* me to say thank you + sing their praises. The whole Le Bon Shop catalog is excellent but if you can only get one, get yourself a pair of campers and thank me later (ily you’re welcome).

My girl Sam put me on to these and I just think they’re the best quality x price on the market. I ordered one, tried it on, immediately ordered it in two more colors + then ordered one for each of my besties. They’ve become my winter weekend uniform + something of an emotional support object. Simply the best tasting probiotic on planet earth. I’ve been a coconut cult stan for a while but this flavor is decidedly the best. It functions as a daily probiotic, and they recommend a spoonful on an empty stomach every morning. If you’re a passionfruit or probiotic head, this is for you.

THE SOURCE:

This book changed my perspective more than any other ever has. If you’re not interested in spirituality, this may lean a little woo woo for you, but if you’re down it’s truly life changing. I really appreciate how it balances spirituality with research-backed neuroscience, and Dr. Tara Swart is a brilliant + endless resource. I’ve gifted this book to a few friends and it’s deeply resonated with all of them. A really great book and practice to start the year with.

THE GIANT WALL CALENDAR:

Perhaps the single best organizational tool in my routine. I have this calendar hanging in my office and I use post-its to stay organized with appointments, events, birthdays, etc. Previously it only came in black + white, but this year they came out with a color version, with different colors for each month and it’s sparking a lot of joy for me personally. (If sold out here, just google it + you can order from other websites)

CANN ROADIES:

If you’re doing dry Jan or just interested in alternatives to alcohol, these are perfect. They’re micro-dosed (2mg THC, 4mg CBD) and can be added to seltzer or any other drink. They’re really mild and ultimately just feel like drinking a good mood. You can get them shipped directly to you, all of the flavors are great, and you’re gonna want one in your bag at all times (esp. for long flights).

THE BUDDHIFY APP:

The best meditation app I’ve found. You can customize your wheel for circumstance-specific 5-20 minute guided meditations (ie. sleep, travel, walking etc). Great for anyone who’s curious about meditation but hasn’t yet established a practice. 10/10 recommend.

ALISON ROMAN’S SHALLOT PASTA:

This is obviously not new and probably not news to any of you, but I made this recently for friends who had never had it before and was reminded of its truly transcendent power. It’s ultimately just a perfect pasta - easy, cheap, comes together in >30 mins, and uses 90% pantry items that you probably already have. It should be a permanent fixture in your weeknight dinner rotation if it isn’t already.

THE TELEPATHY TAPES:

I listened to the first season of this podcast around this time last year and it was all I could talk about. It is the single most brain expanding piece of media I’ve ever consumed. The series explores the lives and minds of non-verbal autistic children, studying their apparent ability to communicate without words - ie. telepathically. I understand that it may push against the boundaries of lot of people’s understanding of reality, and some may find it straight up insane, but I really enjoyed the way it challenged the limits of my understanding and the questions it brought up for me. If nothing else, it leads to really interesting conversation. Listen to it with your smartest friend and then plan a dinner date just to talk about it.

AD OPEN DOOR:

If you’ve been over to my house in the last 3 years chances are I’ve poured you a glass of wine and forced you to watch an episode of this youtube series. Its like MTV Cribs but better. Perfect for watching at home on weekend mornings while folding laundry + fantasizing about disposable income.
