There is a version of me that people know, and then there is the version of me that only I know.

The version people see can smile, laugh, have conversations, make plans, and act like everything is under control. But behind that version is a man who has had moments where he questioned himself, his choices, his direction, and whether he was becoming the person he always imagined he would be.

I’ve learned that life doesn’t always change you through big moments. Sometimes, it changes you quietly.

Through disappointment. Through losing people. Through mistakes you wish you could take back. Through nights when you overthink everything and mornings when you have to convince yourself to keep going.

And somewhere along the way, you realize that becoming a better man isn’t about having a perfect life. It is about becoming strong enough to keep moving when life isn’t perfect.

I’m learning to stop measuring my life by where I think I should be and start appreciating how far I’ve already come.

I’m learning that not everyone deserves access to my heart, my energy, or my plans. Some people are lessons. Some are blessings. And some are simply chapters that were never meant to become the whole story.

I’m also learning that beauty can attract you, but character is what makes you stay. Intelligence, emotional maturity, loyalty, kindness, and the ability to have meaningful conversations are things that become more valuable with time.

I want people around me who challenge my mind, understand my heart, respect my journey, and genuinely want to grow alongside me.

I don’t want a life that only looks good from the outside.

I want a life that feels good when nobody is watching.

There are still things I want to accomplish. There are still places I want to see, dreams I want to chase, mistakes I need to learn from, and parts of myself I am still discovering.

And maybe that’s okay.

Maybe I don’t have to have everything figured out right now.

Maybe life isn’t asking me to become everything at once. Maybe it is simply asking me to take the next step.

So that’s what I’m doing.

One day at a time.

Becoming wiser. Becoming stronger. Becoming more intentional. Learning when to speak, when to walk away, when to forgive, and when to choose myself.

I don’t know exactly what the future version of me will look like.

But I know this:

I want to look back one day and be proud that I didn’t give up on myself when I had every reason to.

I’m not finished.

I’m still becoming.

And maybe the most beautiful thing about my story is that the best chapters haven’t been written yet.
