I heard something yesterday that felt like wonderfully good medicine for my soul. “…in Jesus, the creator God has come home to rescue the world, that in the spirit the creator God is coming home to dwell among humans. Wow! By taking up residence in me, the Spirit of our Triune God is transforming me to be part of God’s new creation. As Dallas Willard said, “I am an unceasing spiritual being with an eternal destiny in God’s great universe.” Today (and every day) is an invitation from the Father to go and work in his vineyard. Working in apprenticeship to Jesus means investing our heart, soul, mind, and strength in God’s mission. The mysterious key to letting the Spirit transform us to be part of God’s new creation is that your work assignment in his vineyard always starts inside of you. As it relates to growing in your forever purpose in Christ, the most important place in the Father’s vineyard is your heart. That’s where he will always meet you.

I crafted the following prayer earlier this week as I soaked in the wonder of God’s message… With every sunrise, you awaken me to come and work with you in your ever-expanding vineyard. Christ Jesus, I long to depend on the Spirit and the Father the way you do. Help me joyfully remember that the daily work in your vineyard is unpredictable but always right on time. Increase my appetite for your ways on earth as it is in heaven. AMEN

Prayers:

King Jesus, fill my imagination with what it means to be glorified with you, to share in your glory. If the Scriptures didn’t speak of it, I wouldn’t dare to engage with the idea. Reveal the truth to my heart, showing me, as we journey together, what it means to suffer with you so that those around me see you glorified through me. AMEN (inspired by Romans 8:17)

Triune God, TODAY I will put my faith in the ways of your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Whether I am innocent or guilty, I know this world loves to throw stones in order to silence what threatens it. Train me to hold my head up when I am guilty as charged, knowing you do not condemn me. And to boldly walk right through the threatening crowd in times when I am falsely accused while taking a stand for the truth, as you did, without bitterness and empowered by heaven’s unconquerable love. AMEN (inspired by John 8:11,59)

Triune God, your ways are far superior to my ways, and your thoughts are so much greater than mine. How awesome it is that you never meant for me to be separated from you. Father, does your heart groan within all you have created? Would you awaken me to the mystery of your life in me by the Spirit and the Son? By your grace, my day-to-day journey is leaving behind the ways I live for myself and moving closer to your heart within. AMEN

Decades of real-time training in prayer-living with others has taught me that there is indeed now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. But there is definitely much-needed candour. Growing up in prayer is not for the thin-skinned and/or the immature.

Triune God, I am yours. I belong to you. But I feel restless, distracted, depleted, uncooperative, out of my depth… Here, in this place of frustration with myself, you remind me that I am a living branch completely dependent on attachment to the vine. And even the vine joyfully gives thanks to the faithful working hands of the gardener. My life is only found in you, Gardener, Vine, and Living Spring of Life. AMEN

Spirit of God, here in the secret place, mercifully put your words in my mouth. As my prayers join the unending song before you, send me as a prophet to the nations. Train me in this heaven-and-earth place in communion with you, to work in your vineyard TODAY, to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant. Teach me to pray. AMEN (inspired by Jeremiah 1:9-10)

Triune God, there is a mystery whose exploration takes me to heights and depths that I have not yet known fully in my life. It is the mystery of your sorrow, pain, and the source of your Spirit’s groaning. At times, I have waded in until the water laps around my legs and perhaps even up to my waist. But, by your grace, I long to know your heart in this way. I will plunge in deeper. Pray with me, and from within me, TODAY, according to what weighs heavy on your heart, Lover of my soul. AMEN

We don’t see the harvest for what it is. The master of the harvest has crystal-clear vision and intention concerning next steps and total execution of the mission to gather it all in. It’s time to repent of, renounce, and release into the wounds of Jesus our agendas built on our faulty vision. We say, in your mercy, Lord of the harvest, open our eyes to see the harvest according to your vision alone. Train us to partner with heaven and with your commissioned angelic helpers. Send us with transformed hearts to do the actual work which you have in mind. AMEN (soaking in Matthew 9:35-10:8)

Triune Lord of the harvest. Thank you for seeing me in the crowds down through history. You found me when I was confused and helpless, like a sheep without a shepherd. You have captured my heart and lifted me up in the current of your vocation. Let me not forget that you have sent us TODAY to work in the vineyard. Open my eyes to see what you see. AMEN

What if God is not done with you and never will be, and what if the next step is available right now?

We talk about spiritual growth as a lifelong process and why that matters when you're discouraged, aging, grieving, or simply tired. Along the way we unpack a Dallas Willard line that reframes everything, that you are an unceasing spiritual being with an eternal purpose in God's great universe. That lens gives you permission to stop living in regret, stop treating failure as final, and start doing the next faithful thing.

A big turning point is joy. Not hype. Not denial. The joy of the Lord as strength. We get practical about how joy differs from happiness, how you can suffer with Christ without slipping into anti joy, and how choosing joy can restore momentum even when nothing feels easy.

Then we explore hearing God through a both and framework. God wires you with interests and skills, and God also speaks with specific direction. We name the two ditches, waiting forever for a spiritual download or charging ahead without relational listening, and we argue there's no secular sacred divide. Your ordinary routines, your work, and your faithful presence in hard seasons can still glorify God and expand the kingdom.

If you've ever caught yourself thinking "that's just my humanness" like it's a spiritual insult, you're not alone. We get honest about the way believers quietly cringe at their own limits, weaknesses, and ordinary emotions, then assume God feels the same way about them. What if He doesn't? What if God actually meets your humanity with kindness, even joy, and the real problem isn't your humanness but the story you've been telling yourself about it?

From there we tackle a question that sits under so much of our striving: am I important to God? We talk about why the "humble" answer of "I'm not important" actually leaves us wide open to discouragement and disqualification. We get into purpose and design, how God doesn't create anything without intent, and how the way creation functions hints at how God chose to work with people. We also talk about intercession and participation in God's unfolding plan, and why purpose naturally implies meaning and value.

Then we land on the center of it all: Jesus. God's clearest statement about human worth is the incarnation. God becomes human, remains the God man, and carries our story all the way through the cross and into restoration. We name the gap between head knowledge and heart belief, and we lean on Jesus' words in John 15 about abiding, plus the startling humility of John 5, where even the Son only does what He sees the Father doing. Dependence isn't shameful. It's design.

We close with Peter's charcoal fires, denial and restoration, and pray together for the Holy Spirit to speak chosenness into our hearts, not just our minds.

My love for crafting my inner processing of prayer-living into words has been growing deeper this year. Lately, the themes of secure attachment to God, the fearsomeness of union with Christ, the role of surrender in our endless pursuit of knowing we are loved, and the joy of companionship with the Holy Spirit when I suffer in big and/or small ways have all been shaping my writings.

MUSINGS FROM THE PAST FEW MONTHS

The fear of the Lord is the fearsome joy of eternal life. It is similar to the fear of not breathing. I cannot live without breathing. I love breathing. I love being alive. This is true at the deepest levels of my being.

Union with God in Christ Jesus… I love being one with Jesus. I cannot BE without union with him.

Prayer is the heaven and earth current of the River of Life.

We by far underestimate the importance of how we move through times of suffering. The depth of our embrace of God’s overwhelming love for us is both tested and strengthened in the fire of the everyday. Insist that God’s love is the banner over your life TODAY.

Prayers:

God of Peace, come and crush under my feet the Accuser and every dark power that tries to threaten my confidence in you. Sometimes, I worry that the enemy’s lies will overtake me. But, like Mary, I gladly take my place at your feet, listening and waiting for your word. Awaken me again TODAY to the awesomeness of union with you in every circumstance. AMEN

Triune God, you are the air I breathe, my living food and drink, my provision and provider, my love and my lover. You awaken me every morning with JOY, even though I am often unaware of it. Through your grace and mercy, I surrender my first thoughts and intentions. TODAY, my heart, my love, my attachment, my hunger, and my thirst are all yours. AMEN

Christ Jesus, you are drawing me deeper into your mindset. By your Spirit, you are helping me not only to think ABOUT you, but even more, to think WITH you. AMEN (inspired by Philippians 2:1-11)

Triune God, even before I awakened to this day, the life and intimacy of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit has been sustaining me. Through the fog brought on by the pressures and cares of this world, the light of your relentless love burns. You give me hope, vision, peace, your Spirit, and your name so that I can reign in any circumstance TODAY. Your love never fails. AMEN

Spirit of God, you are the presence that restores me. Come and remind my deepest parts of your glory. I surrender my desires and my motivations to you. Only you are trustworthy to lead those parts of me that move faster than my conscious mind. Again TODAY, I set my heart on following you, Jesus, my only true shepherd. AMEN

The presence of strength in my life comes only from union with you, Jesus. The strength of your power is more than I can comprehend. Still, my heart is continually drawn to discover more in you. One with you, I don’t fear the scams of the devil. Because your armor covers and equips me TODAY, I will show up in contentment, resilience, and love. AMEN

Spirit of God, meet me in the white water turbulence of TODAY. You are reminding me that you hold my heart as I have entrusted it to you. Again, for this moment and this day, I stand my ground in Christ. Holy Spirit, I lean on you as the lens and the filter by which I experience this day. “Focus the mind on the flesh, and you’ll die; but focus it on the spirit, and you’ll have life, and peace.” Even in the most challenging moments, I have peace in you. AMEN (inspired by Romans 8:5-8)

Spirit of God, you are the hope-filled presence of the triune God within me. And it’s all made possible because of Jesus. By your grace, I dress myself in humility toward those close to me. Remind me often that in Christ, I am called to the heaven and earth glory you have intended. I am not my own. Only you restore me, make me strong, firm and steadfast. Though the process doesn’t always fit my designs, I will trust your agenda and the ways it will continue to shape me. AMEN (inspired by 1 Peter 5:5-11)

Fill me and shape me in your grace so that when suffering comes my way in its various forms, I will shine with the light of your presence. I can’t do this on my own. Spirit of God, redeem my story, past, present and future so that it reveals the importance of your partnership with humanity. I surrender to your reshaping and restoration project in my life. According to your word, you have chosen me. But, I am only now beginning to understand the cost of living “chosen”. Steady my heart when my union with you involves suffering with you. The glory of being shaped into your image is worth it all. AMEN (inspired by Romans 8:17)

Merciful God, you have invited us to trust in you. In Jesus Christ you have opened the way for us to live in union with you on earth as it is in heaven. I consecrate my vision to you. Align it with what you are doing. Only your message is trustworthy. All of our self-made idols are lifeless inside. But you, LORD, are in your holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before you. AMEN (inspired by Habakkuk 2:2-20)

Prayer is the heaven and earth current of the River of Life.

That nagging voice that says, “You should be farther along,” can sound spiritual while it quietly drains your joy and erodes your confidence in God’s love. Anthony and Dan start with a grounded reminder we both need on repeat: God’s voice and God’s message always come in a loving way. As we learn to hear God, our biggest growth edge is often not technique, but expectation, trusting that when He captures our attention in prayer or in the middle of an ordinary day, His tone is kindness.  

We also talk about why “should” is rarely helpful and how it tends to spring from comparison, fear, and the false belief that we are the chief transformation agent in our own story. From there we shift into a theme the Lord has been pressing into Anthony’s life: enjoyment. Enjoying God and enjoying what God does is not a shallow detour, it is part of healing and part of building endurance for the long road of spiritual formation.  

The conversation deepens into Christian resilience, shaped by John Eldridge’s Resilient and Tish Harrison Warren’s What Grows in Weary Lands. We name the grief many of us carry after years of cultural tension and change, and we explore what happens when we stop compartmentalizing pain and instead invite Jesus into the places that hurt. Along the way we reflect on Hebrews 12, the difference between weight and sin, and Romans 8:17 on sharing in Christ’s sufferings so we may also share in His glory. Some conversations carry more than information, they carry weight. We have both had moments where someone speaks and our hearts recognize something deeper is happening, not emotional hype, but a clear spiritual resonance. That is the kind of “unexplainable but unmistakable” authority people noticed on Jesus, and it is the hunger driving this conversation on the Hearing God Podcast.

We wrestle with what made Jesus teaching feel so different, and why crowds were drawn to Him even before miracles broke out. Then we get practical: spiritual authority is not something we manufacture or chase as an experience. We believe it grows out of union with God, intimacy with Jesus, abiding in the Spirit, and learning to hear God clearly. We also talk about Acts 4 and the startling credibility of “ordinary and unschooled” believers whose main credential is simply that they have been with Jesus.

From there, we turn toward the refining work that often comes with deeper intimacy. Dan shares a fresh prophetic picture from a prayer gathering: a packed bookshelf and a “book of insecurities” with no place to belong. As he prays through it, God names what is underneath it, bearing false witness, and it opens a path for repentance, renouncing lies, releasing self-protection, and receiving God’s truth and peace. We close by coaching simple freedom prayer questions you can ask the Holy Spirit and by praying for you to let go of what has felt like comfort but has been stealing life.

Jesus extended an invitation to us one day, in the midst of a multi-day party. (John 7:37-39) He still invites us TODAY to drink the living water that only he can provide. It doesn’t stop there. Once we take a drink from the river of living water, the triune God will awaken us from the inside out, as that very river springs up within us! Incredible!

Prayer is the best way to engage with God in your space. We are often afraid to plunge in over our heads. Our feet insist on the security of the ground in the shallows. We hesitate to go deeper because we assume the deep water is where God deals with our sin, and we feel threatened. Lately, I have been empowered by recalling that God’s hatred of sin flows downstream from the perfect love always reaching for us. It isn’t a separate, colder current waiting past the shallows.

The Spirit of God keeps leading us back to the bank of heaven’s river of life. He guides us deeper into the current where the sick are healed… the bound are set free. Wherever the river flows, everything lives (Ezekiel 47:9). May we receive the matchless grace of God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Whether in the shallows or further out into the deep, the current of God’s presence is where sin is dealt with and where healing and freedom happen. TODAY is a good day to trust and let go of the false security of the shallows.

Prayers:

Holy God, after all this time, I often find myself afraid to plunge in over my head into your river of life. As my feet insist on feeling the security of the ground under me in the shallows, you are reminding me that your hatred of sin runs downstream from your passionate, unfathomable love for me. Going in deeper, allowing you to do as you please with MY sins, will only bring me to life at depths within me that I have yet to discover with you, Father. Take me deeper. AMEN

Holy Spirit, breath of the triune God, awaken me TODAY. You have pulled me into the deep embrace of unconditional love and acceptance in Christ Jesus. I am inhaling hope, forgiveness, belonging, and the glory of connection with you even in the middle of the massive renovation project that is my life. Lead me to exhale the same to those around me. May they experience the glory of friendship with you in what they experience of me. AMEN

Spirit of the triune God, TODAY I join with you and encourage the depths of my being with your message. To all the parts of me that are hiding in the shadows, God is here. You are safe because the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have come to us in Christ Jesus. In this very moment you have full permission to make the most of all his benefits. Oh my innermost being, don’t forget this. It is God’s joy to redeem us along with all things and it is our joy to receive all things in Christ. AMEN (inspired by Psalm 103:1-5)

Before this day ends, I need to get this out. A friend brought Psalm 103 across my path this morning. God was in that. I was especially drawn to verses 11-12: “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” As I stayed with the truth of what God has done with my transgressions, the Spirit whispered to me, I have also removed the fear of the MONSTERS and the GIANTS who love to mess with you and keep you looking back over your shoulder, wondering when they are gonna get ya and the worst outcomes in your imagination will become your lived experience. I HAVE REMOVED THAT FEAR! Because of Jesus, we don’t need to fear the monsters and the giants. AMEN

King Jesus, my heart cries out to you. Heal my eyes so that I won’t miss the way you are coming to us TODAY. You chose to ride into Jerusalem on a donkey and most of the crowd didn’t recognize your majesty. I will watch in high expectation for the gentle and humble way you reveal your presence in this ordinary day. AMEN (inspired by Matthew 21)

Triune God, I wait before you. You draw me in with your living presence. Capture my imagination TODAY with the wonder of your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. In the most mundane tasks and places, the glory of being with you changes everything. I feel it like breath in my lungs. This day is filled with your glory. In your mercy, sweep me up in your agenda throughout this day. AMEN

Spirit of the triune God, I surrender the eyes of my heart to you. Bring me back to the bank of your river of life. Draw me into your mission on earth as it is in heaven. For the sake of the name of the Lord Jesus, guide me deeper into the current where the sick are healed, the evil spirits leave, and the bound are set free. Free me completely from all borrowed and manufactured names. Make me a witness of your desire and sufficiency to set the captives free. AMEN (inspired by Ezekiel 47:6, Acts 19:11-17)

King Jesus, the actual living word of God, my heart is yours. It is a father’s heart. Awaken it with the spirit and power of Elijah… to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and…cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly. I pray this for all the fathers around me for the sake of your wonderful name. AMEN (inspired by Luke 1:17)

God, reorient my heart in the current of your living union, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I surrender to you the anxious pull of darkness to worry about everything. I freely confess my sin in striving to do it all. I leave it in your wounded side, and I receive from you the joy of doing all that I do TODAY in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father through him. AMEN

Spirit of God, train me to do life as Jesus did. Empower me to be present with love in the circumstances of TODAY. Breathe your kingdom wind into me so that I will exhale forgiveness, healing, and deliverance in Jesus’ name upon those around me. And may I burn with the light of kingdom of God fire on earth as it is in heaven. AMEN

Jesus, you have so often captured my imagination with the nature of your authority. When you taught the people, they were amazed by it. It struck them that it was unlike the teachers of the law. By your Spirit, anoint me, train me, and send me to move in that same authority so that your kingdom will come on earth as it is in heaven. AMEN (inspired by Mark 1:22)

Triune God, I gladly surrender and consecrate myself to the unity of your Spirit. In Christ, I am one with you and with all of my brothers and sisters in your name. By your grace, remind me TODAY that my wrestle with trouble and personal temptations represent the bigger battle you are waging until all of your enemies are under your feet. Lord, may we all clothe ourselves in “your armour as we hold your ground against any enemy that attempts to win it back.” (T Wright) - AMEN

The kingdom of God is the best dimension from which to live any and every moment. It is union with the triune God on earth as it is in heaven.

You can pray “God, I surrender my agenda” and mean it with your whole heart, then wake up the next morning to interruptions that feel like chaos. We’ve lived that gap between intention and reality, and it’s exactly where the spiritual life gets honest.  

Union with Christ is an unfolding reality to receive. A revelation in process. That single shift changes everything: how we hear God, how we relate to Jesus, and why worship can be both the right response and the overflow of being loved. 

Then we turn toward the role of the intercessor. We define intercession as choosing to carry a burden that isn’t technically yours, standing in the gap for people, communities, and even regions that are experiencing injustice or spiritual resistance. Ezekiel’s call to “stand in the breach” gives language to what God looks for in his friends, and Hebrews 7 anchors it in Jesus, the great intercessor who continues to work.

 
Intercession is at the heart of the church’s mission: prayer that becomes action, heaven touching earth, and Acts 10:38 as a practical template for doing good and setting captives free.

We sit down with Psalm 103 open and begin with encouraging your own soul, naming God's benefits, bringing our hidden inner world into his gentle care. That's where honest prayer begins and it's often where hearing God becomes clearer, because you're no longer holding back the very thing you need to say.

The Psalms are a roadmap for raw, human processing with God. David's prayers don't read like polished lines, and that's the point. They give permission to pray what's real without getting stuck in despair, because the pattern keeps turning toward trust.

We also talk about the long game of spiritual formation and inner healing. The slow, garden-pace of wholeness. Why God is patient with the motives and wounds we barely understand ourselves.

Then we land on Psalm 86:11: "Unite my heart to fear your name." The fear of the Lord is a reverence you can't manufacture. It grows as the heart becomes whole. We name the risk of surrender, why God's better word can feel dangerous, and how the new self in Christ pushes from the inside to dismantle old frameworks. The surprising outcome is courage. As reverence rises, other fears start to lose their authority.

Lately, God has been asking me a question. As with all of God’s questions, it has been provoking me and awakening me to see and hear things differently. In a dream, this question, hidden for me to find, was unearthed for me. It was hidden in Ezekiel 47:6, “He asked me, ‘Son of man, do you see this?’ Then he led me back to the bank of the river.”

I have been in a state of surrender, especially in how I perceive what is going on around me. A prayer-soaked life will 100% lead you to repent of what you think you see for the sake of receiving more of the triune God’s vision on earth as it is in heaven. So, along with Ezekiel, we are safe to humble ourselves and freely admit to God that, in fact, we need the help of heaven in order to actually SEE.

As we give space for sharing our heart-cries, praying in the intimacy at the center of it all, as our lives are hidden with Christ in God, may we increasingly see what Ezekiel saw: “Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows, everything will live…Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month, they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” (from Ezekiel 47:8-12)

Prayers:

You define who I am, triune God. You are my creator, my strength, and my redeemer. Lead me, take me on mission with you, Jesus. I can trust you with the life you have given me. I renounce the fear of letting my weaknesses be known. Like the Apostle Paul, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, for when I am weak, then I am strong. AMEN

Spirit of God, awaken us and renew us again TODAY in the deep ongoing intercession of Jesus. Provoke and persuade the heart of your body, the Church, to dive into the current of kingdom of heaven life here on earth. God, your kingdom reigns. My wisdom fails me when I trust in the judgments or even the approval of the world. My roots reach deep alongside your river of life to find the support and grace I need. Again, you remind me that I have nothing to fear, even in my frailty. In Christ, I carry the treasure of the presence of the triune God in this jar of clay. Train me to be bold in not hiding because of my weaknesses, so that it will be obvious that the power on display, even in my weakest moments, comes from you alone. AMEN

Spirit of God, remind me often to pause and pay attention to the flow of your living presence all around us. I long to be in step with you regardless of my circumstances. Triune God, could it be that one of your greatest treasures, hidden for me to find, is that your favorite place to commune with me is in the depths of my heart? Awaken me as you search me. Jesus Christ NEVER lived solo. He has ALWAYS BEEN with the Father and the Spirit. In Christ, I NEVER live solo, even when I feel abandoned. Hidden with Christ in God, I am always connected within the Triune God. The suggestion that I am isolated and disconnected is a lie. Evil is intent on keeping me from perceiving my integrated place in the oneness of the triune God. Following Jesus means receiving him. Receiving him means PERCEIVING something that only the Holy Spirit could show us, and ALLOWING the true light, the Word, the message that God has healed and restored our connection to Life… THAT message… to dwell in us richly. Triune God, submerge me in the paradox of the question, “…what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” It is not my place to answer that question. I have tried and it leads me to chaos and destruction. You answer me with your living word, the bread of life. You define what and who I am, in Christ who is the hope of glory. Something shifts when you realize the prayer you’ve carried for years is already being answered. We walk through that exact moment as we reflect on One Conference, a gathering of around 4,000 teenagers in Atlantic Canada, and the growing sense that a genuine youth revival is unfolding in schools and communities right now.

God designed us to hear Him, and a daily rhythm of listening is not optional for a healthy heart. You and I are designed to know God and Jesus Christ, whom he sent (John 17:3). That is the quality of life for which you were made. Your most alive days are those where you do EVERYTHING in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the father through him. (Colossians 3:17).

O God, in your mercy, awaken me again TODAY, heart, soul, mind, and strength. Holy Spirit, reveal and magnify Christ in my life. He is gentle and humble in heart. Christ Jesus, you have prayed to the Father that I, together with those around me, would be One, in the perfect union of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I surrender all of my stubborn independence to the deep current of your River of Life in Christ. Like a young child, I am only just beginning to discover the overwhelming joy of running, dancing, and living every day fully awake in your love. AMEN

“…for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” Philippians 2:13

Regardless of how I feel about my performance or the way I’ve lived my life story over the past several decades, God has been faithfully accomplishing his purpose in me. I am hearing in my inner man that he has not missed a beat, and he has been working out his will. He has been looking after fulfilling the agreements that he and I have made over the years. He has saved up every prayer. He hasn’t missed a moment of consecration, a moment of inviting me into something, and of my surrender to the process. He receives my offerings of consecration and surrender, regardless of the size of my faith. The Holy Spirit has always been looking after God’s design in me, his purpose for me and the alignment of my life with God’s kingdom agenda on earth as it is in heaven. King Jesus, this feels very powerful. We surrender to what you’re saying to us right now. We pray that your word will embrace us and speak to us. We live by every word that comes out of your mouth. AMEN

Spirit of God, here again is the soil of my life. Because you desire the voluntary surrender of the whole garden of my being, my YES is a forever-open door to your forever ownership of my flourishing on earth as it is in heaven. Draw me deeper into your purpose as we do the hard work of gardening in me, every step filled with the joy of your company. AMEN

Triune God, prayers and the regular practice of intercession have been part of my life story even before the day of my birth. I have known wins and losses, and much learning through trial and error. TODAY, I confess that your ways have always been far superior to my ways. On earth, you have designed me to be united with your kingdom ways in Christ. I surrender to you, the River of Life, so that your grace will bring me fully to life for your glory. AMEN

Spirit of God, my heart is set on following you TODAY. I will be filled with the grace and joy of union with you through Christ as I surrender to your agenda on earth as it is in heaven. On my own, I would be taken out so quickly. But, because of your constant attentiveness to me, I don’t need to give up or even hesitate in fear. Bring glory to your name through all I do in this day. Your love sustains me in every way. AMEN

Triune God, your purpose for all Creation defines, refines, inspires, fills, deepens, multiplies, and redeems everything. And, our lives have heaven and earth meaning because we are hidden with Christ in the communion of who you are, Sovereign LORD. AMEN

Something shifts when you stop keeping God’s prompting in your head and finally say it out loud. We’ve both felt it: you’re praying Scripture, or you’re in a normal moment at work, in a store, in a conversation, and the Holy Spirit puts a clear nudge on your heart. 

We dig into why speaking matters in the first place. God creates by speaking, Jesus is the Word from the beginning, and the Bible keeps showing that God’s purposes often move forward through ordinary people who open their mouths. We talk about how declaring Scripture out loud can change spiritual atmosphere, bring peace, and help faith become concrete. We also connect this to spiritual warfare and the armor of God in Ephesians 6, where the sword of the Spirit is not just information on a page, but the timely, spoken word God is saying right now.

Discerning when to speak and when to wait, refusing the enemy’s fear-based shutdown, and treating this like a skill you can grow through practice. We share a real story of sensing a prompting in a gas station, driving away, then turning around to go back and speak. No shame, no hype, just partnership and the joy of obedience.

Our triune God knows your name. In Christ, your existence, security, creativity, joy, identity, all of it and more flow from God’s spirit in you like a river. But, in those moments when you struggle to feel it, you’re not sure you can make it, and you feel like you are grasping for any solution that will work, you can inhale and breathe a prayer. God loves your voice because he gave it to you. The grace of Christ, the love of the Father, and the undying friendship of the Holy Spirit are not rewards for your good behaviour. They are your greatest resource in life forever.

God, awaken my heart, mind, and body to you, the source of everything good. Overtake me with your intention to go way beyond my expectations TODAY. Again for this day, I lay down my plans, wants, and needs at the cross and gratefully receive your amazing agenda. AMEN

Father, my heart cries out for you to speak your word to me again. Remind me that you have spoken a new name over me and into my very being. Awaken the core of who I am with the delight you take in my company. Overwhelm me and those around me that you actually rejoice over us as our lives are hidden in Christ within the intimacy of who you are, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. AMEN (inspired by Isaiah 62:1-5)

Holy Spirit, come and fill us as your temple built with living stones. Transform us into a house of prayer. Overflow our lives in Christ with your presence, wisdom, and mercy. River of Living Water, flow and flush away pride and restore humility in all of our relationships for the renown of Jesus’ name. AMEN

Triune God, in a strange and yet visceral way, I repent of ignoring the extravagance of your generous provisions for me. Holy Spirit, restore our union TODAY. My ignorance of what I have inherited in Christ is not okay. Heal the disconnected places in me that continue to resist the abundance of living in you. I long for you, Spirit of God, to persuade my heart that Christ the Son is in the Father, and Christ is in me, and I am in Christ. AMEN

“On that day you will know that I am in my father, and you in me, and I in you.” John 14:20

Eternal God of all that is seen and unseen, of the heavens and earth world, you not only made me, but you also have redeemed me in Christ. Mysteriously, you keep re-shaping my own telling of my life story through the lens of your kairos timeline… and I love it. AMEN

Jesus, my Healer. Your body and blood, broken, spilled out and given for me, have been healing my broken being over the past few weeks. Your house is a place of healing. Even when this temple was sick, broken, and clueless about the way back to good health, you never abandoned me, not for a moment. Your body has been connecting with me through the hands, feet, minds, and prayers of several hundred people in recent days. How beautiful is the body of Christ! My heart sings today of the healing I have experienced in your incomparable friendship. AMEN

We go deep on a phrase that shows up again and again in the New Testament but often gets flattened in modern Christian language: being in Christ. We read 2 Corinthians 5:17 and talk about union with Christ, new creation identity, and why so many of us drift into a transactional mindset where “good day” equals close to God and “bad day” equals distant from God. We also connect it to Jesus’ invitation to abide, the reality of the Trinity, and what it means that our life is “hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).

We explore a core spiritual formation truth that can feel almost too good to be true: God doesn’t save us by cleaning us up so He can finally enjoy us. He saves us by drawing us into His delight through Jesus, the second Adam, and the Spirit poured out. We end by naming the real obstacle for many of us: unbelief, and we pray a simple prayer of surrender so we can actually receive what God says is already ours.
