Manny Rutinel (CO-08)

Manny Rutinel understands the challenges working Coloradans are facing. As a teen, Manny worked at McDonald’s, tutored kids, and even sold his blood plasma to help pay the bills after the bank foreclosed on his family home.

Manny is running for Congress to fight for working families, create good jobs, and improve Coloradans’ health care. The son of a single mom who immigrated from Latin America, Manny’s powerful story resonates with CO-08, an R+0, working-class, 40% Latino district that is souring on Gabe Evans and Donald Trump.

Paige Cognetti (PA-08)

Paige Cognetti is a reformer who is willing to take on anyone to root out corruption and make government work for the people it’s supposed to serve. Now in her third term as Mayor, Paige has breathed new life into Scranton by putting more cops on the beat and revitalizing the city’s finances.

Her record stands in stark contrast to Congressman Rob Bresnahan, who has made himself the poster child of D.C. corruption by breaking his promise to ban congressional stock trading and instead becoming one of the most active stock traders in all of Congress. The contrast couldn’t be clearer: while Bresnahan makes a quick buck, Paige is delivering for Northeastern Pennsylvanians.

Sam Forstag (MT-01)

Sam Forstag is a working Montanan, union leader, and smokejumper who is running to put working people first. He has a history of fighting corruption -- as Vice President of National Federation of Federal Employees’ (NFFE) Local 60, Sam took a stand when Elon Musk took a chainsaw to public land agencies, organizing against the cuts. Now, he’s ready to take his skills to Washington and fight to lower costs, raise wages, and fight corruption.

With incumbent Ryan Zinke not seeking another term, this race could be the first time in 30 years that a Democrat has represented Montana in the House. This district is more competitive than it has been in the last several cycles. Sam’s appeal to the working class -- proven by his primary win -- gives him strong momentum to flip this seat.

Rebecca Cooke (WI-03)

Rebecca Cooke is a 6th generation Wisconsinite who worked and grew up on a dairy farm in Eau Claire, raised with the values of service and hard work. As a small business owner and nonprofit leader -- and now as a waitress -- Rebecca has spent her life building community and serving others.

While Derrick Van Orden thinks he’s better than the people he represents, no one fights harder for Wisconsin families and farmers than Rebecca. Following her overperformance in this Trump district last cycle, Rebecca is the candidate to flip this seat and bring Wisconsin values to Congress.

The Bottom Line

Democratic leaders like President Barack Obama know that the only way to stop Trump’s MAGA Trifecta is to flip the House BLUE. We’re going all-in on Manny, Paige, Sam, Rebecca, and all 37 of our Red to Blue candidates who are working hand-over-foot to FLIP the House.

My name is Will, and I’m the Deputy Executive Director of the DCCC. Today I have a critically important update to share with you.

At the very end of June, Donald Trump’s handpicked majority on the Supreme Court handed the GOP a MASSIVE boost -- ruling that Republicans can now spend UNLIMITED sums in coordination with their chosen candidates, empowering their billionaire megadonors.

This ruling delivers the GOP’s biggest campaign finance win since Citizens United, with The New York Times calling it a “major victory for Republicans” that “could undercut one of the Democrats’ financial advantages going into the midterms.”

How We Got Here

I want to pull back the curtain a bit and explain how we got to this point. A lot of folks may think that political parties can spend unlimited sums in coordination with their candidates of choice to get them elected -- but the reality is a bit different. At least it used to be.

Before this ruling, in the post-Citizens United era of campaign finance, political parties could spend as much as they wanted to advocate for a candidate, but they had to do so independently of the candidate and their campaign. The parties were capped at how much they could spend in coordination with those candidates. For example, if the DCCC wanted to run TV ads supporting a Democratic candidate for Congress in Wisconsin, we would have to set up an independent arm of our organization that couldn’t coordinate or communicate with the campaign.

This system leveled the playing field and was fair for everyone, because political parties are allowed to take in significantly higher amounts of contributions than candidates. The limits provided a fair mechanism to prevent the ultra-wealthy from having outsized influence in our elections.

The GOP Makes Their Move

This system has been in place for decades now, and the GOP has wanted to upend it for almost as long.

The reason is simple -- a fairer system benefited Democrats. When you get bombarded with TV ads in the fall of an election year, not everyone pays the same rate for the same amount of TV ads. Right before the election, candidates actually get a lower rate than Super PACs, political parties and other groups. In recent years, Democratic candidates have been thrashing the GOP in fundraising, meaning Republicans were having to spend more to buy the same amount of ad time our candidates were able to purchase to make up for their candidate’s poor fundraising.

That meant that the caps on coordinated spending between campaigns and political parties gave Democrats an advantage -- because our candidates were funded by grassroots donors, we were able to make the GOP spend more to buy less.

When House Democrats won in 2018 and 2020, overperformed in 2022 and defied political gravity in 2024, it was in major part due to this advantage.

That’s why the GOP asked the Supreme Court to scrap the cap and allow unlimited coordinated spending on behalf of candidates -- a decision this Conservative Supreme Court seemed all too happy to grant in June. Just in time for the midterms.

How We Respond Now Will Determine Everything

I’ll be completely honest with you: This decision changes everything in the battle for House control.

House Republicans are planning to funnel their $92 MILLION war chest into propping up their most vulnerable candidates and blanketing the airwaves with attack ads to salvage their razor-thin majority this November.

They think they can rely on ultra-wealthy megadonors to funnel millions into their campaigns.

They think they’ve eliminated the advantage Democrats have had from a fairer system.

They think they’ve completely neutralized the strength of our army of grassroots donors.

But I have a surprise for them -- we have a plan to turn the tables on the GOP. A donation to the DCCC is now MORE IMPACTFUL THAN EVER. The grassroots Democrats that fueled our advantage before can actually do so again. Hi all -- it’s Brooke Butler! As the DCCC’s National Political Director, I lead our team in shaping our political strategy and organizing efforts to take back the House this November, which is why I am so thrilled to hop on here and share with you one of our top investments this cycle: Our Power, Our Country.

Democrats know that taking back the House is a team effort that requires engaging with every single voter. That’s why we launched Our Power, Our Country -- an eight-figure investment to intentionally target and mobilize AANHPI, Black, Latino, and rural communities across America who are an essential part of this movement to take back the House.

This historic effort means massive investments in:

• Research and polling to better understand the important issues across communities.

• Coalition building with local leaders and members of the community to drive outreach and engagement.

• Launching compelling ads on TV and online that speak authentically to communities in their language of choice.

We know that to truly connect with voters, we have to meet people where they are. That’s why we’re spending intentional time and resources understanding what matters most, meeting with community members on the ground, and making the Democratic vision accessible to all who encompass it.

Does it move the needle?

Short answer: Yes.

In 2024, Democrats outran the top of the ticket in numerous races nationwide. Control of the House was decided by just 7,309 votes across three congressional districts -- leaving Republicans with one of the smallest House majorities in history.

Let’s look at two races where Democrats won and flipped two seats from red to blue despite the Trump headwinds last cycle: CA-45 and CA-47. In both of these races, Democrats made major investments in on-the-ground organizing and deployed multilingual, culturally competent ads.

Today, Reps. Derek Tran (CA-45) and Dave Min (CA-47) proudly serve their communities in the House.

We’re building on this success today with Our Power, Our Country. One of our first initiatives after the 2024 election was investing in Asian American voters in California with ads in languages such as Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese.

Today, our efforts have expanded to include on-the-ground organizing and targeted messaging in places like the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, rural communities in Northwest Ohio and the suburbs of Detroit -- the diverse communities that will determine the fate of the House majority in November.

Bills, Bills, Bills:

As the DCCC’s Political Director, I have to say “we don’t have the budget for that” more times than I can count -- which is pretty frustrating, because there’s a LOT MORE we can be doing to compete for and win battleground districts across the country.

Even worse, recent reports prove that a Trump-controlled Super PAC has $400 million in the bank. That’s a lot of money, and if his goons decide to dump their war chest into holding onto the House, we’re going to wish we had more resources to fight back.

Here’s the good news: Democrats don’t NEED to match them dollar for dollar to defeat this laughably unpopular president or his Rubber-Stamp MAGA stooges across the country. But we do need more cash, and we need it before we get any closer to Election Day.

We’re leaving no voter behind and no stone unturned in our efforts to flip the House Majority. But to fund Our Power, Our Country and combat the millions of dollars Republicans are pouring into bad-faith tactics against us, we rely on grassroots donations from supporters like you. Hello everyone! My name is John Mahon, and I’m the DCCC’s National Organizing Director for this year’s all-important Midterm Election.

I’m writing today to fill this team in on one of the DCCC’s most important and innovative investments:

The road to the House majority will be paved by our ability to mobilize voters across the country, and that foundation can ONLY be laid with help from dedicated volunteers.

That’s why the DCCC launched The Field Margin -- our earliest-ever battlefield-wide direct voter contact program focused on arming volunteers and campaigns with the skills to mobilize voters across the nation.

My team and I are centering our efforts on training sessions to coach volunteers on best practices, from door knocking and building a strong volunteer program to phone banking and digital organizing.

We’re also invested in a first-of-its-kind training dedicated to rural organizing.

Volunteers on the ground feel the same momentum we do, and The Field Margin will be instrumental in equipping them with the critical resources needed to engage voters across the country and flip the House.

On The Ground Right Now:

With just 106 days left until Election Day, my team (and our incredible volunteers) are firing on all cylinders right now.

Just a few weeks ago, we organized a weekend of action in over 20 congressional districts. Over 500 people signed up for shifts -- knocking on doors and making calls -- to mobilize the voters we need to win this November.

In just two days, we knocked on >22,000 doors and spoke to 1000s of voters. We have activated thousands of volunteers across the country to help make MILLIONS of phone calls and knock on HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of doors.

We can’t and won’t be slowing down.

To ensure we take back the House, we’re hosting almost a dozen national organizing events every week -- remote contract drives, open-invitation training opportunities, community building exercises, and relational organizing meetings -- including our next Weekend of Action coinciding with 100 Days Until Election Day this upcoming weekend -- sign up to knock doors or make phone calls!

Many Hands Make Light Work:

Tens of thousands of activists all across the battlefield have already attended a training or picked up a shift to help Democrats flip the House.

But across more than 70 districts, we still need to contact millions of voters, secure their support for Democrats, and ensure they actually show up to vote this November.

In short: We still need help from a heck of a lot more volunteers to win the House.

We’re meeting more and more Americans who are eager to get involved and help bring down the Trump Trifecta, which is great news. But my team needs to keep growing to support them, too.

Before I started actually working on campaigns, I began volunteering for campaigns. As a volunteer, the two most frustrating things I encountered were:

1. Not having a qualified professional to rely on when I had questions or needed help.

2. Not having anywhere to physically go (before or after) spending a whole day knocking on doors or making phone calls.

The DCCC is supporting Democrats across the country with trainings, tools, and offices for organizers and volunteers. That's going to cost us a lot of money, which is why I'm asking for your help. I’m thrilled to be kicking off Behind the Blue Firewall -- an inside look at the only Democratic Party committee exclusively dedicated to electing Democrats to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Before I say another word, let’s get familiar: DCCC stands for Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. We’re often referred to as the D-Triple-C or D-Trip for short.

We’re led by our incredible Chairwoman, Representative Suzan DelBene (WA-01), and an amazing group of talented House members who have agreed to serve in DCCC leadership positions that will help deliver Democrats’ message of lowering costs, keeping our communities safe, and protecting individual freedoms.

Here at the DCCC, we’re a couple hundred staffers strong -- each and every member of my team has a unique role to play, but everyone is working toward the same objective:

As the Executive Director, I’m faced with decisions that could make or break Democrats’ chances of winning back the House every day. And with less than four months to go until Election Day, all of our campaigns are kicking into high gear.

So today, I want to pull back the curtain on our 2026 strategy and share with you some of the most important numbers for the Midterms.

The 2026 Midterms by the Numbers

In 2024, House Democrats came within just 7,309 votes across three districts from taking back the Majority -- that’s just 0.005% of the total vote.

That was the margin between this MAGA House Majority that rips health care and food assistance from millions of people or a Democratic Majority that defends access to health care and lowers costs for working families.

That was the margin between giving the Speaker’s gavel and control of the People’s House to MAGA Mike Johnson or Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

That was the margin between two years of total control for Donald Trump and rational checks on the abuses of power from this corrupt administration.

Three

In 2026, Democrats only need to flip three seats to reclaim the House Majority. That’s right -- just three seats.

But trust me, we’re not stopping at three.

We have 26 Red to Blue candidates. These are the Democrats running in some of the toughest races across the country. We recruited many of them, and they all have strong records of service, authentic messages that connect with voters, and deep ties to the communities they will represent come November.

We have 26 Frontline members. These are the House Democrats we are fighting to re-elect and keep in the House. They’re facing a wave of GOP money and attacks from MAGA operatives who will do anything to defeat them and rescue Trump’s Trifecta.

And we have 20 additional districts in play. These are the emerging opportunities we are tracking where there’s a chance for a Democrat to compete -- but only if we have the resources to do so.

We’re preparing to go to the mat in competitive districts across the country -- showing up anywhere and everywhere to fight for our democracy.

One of our biggest hurdles to winning in all 72 districts? Finding the funding to get every candidate the support they need to win.

How We’ll Win

Here at the DCCC, we rely on the generosity of our grassroots supporters to fund our fight for the Majority.

Hundreds of thousands of folks giving $1, $5, or even $10 are changing the nation’s political landscape, one donation at a time.

So far this cycle, we’ve been grateful for the nearly two million donations from grassroots activists in all 50 states.
