Friday August 28. Took a few days this week to breathe but we’re back and there’s a lot to cover.

Both Awake NY x Air Jordan 6 colorways are in hand — the Playful Pink from Awake NY’s own drop and the Midnight Navy which dropped at their Park Jam event in New York before hitting select boutiques. The Uptempo Black and White snuck out and didn’t disappoint. Having both the Uptempo and the Glove in rotation right now at the same time took me back to a really good period in kicks — and I want to talk about that feeling. I got the Mind slides and I need to be honest with you about how they compare to the Yeezy. The Westside Gunn x Saucony “Awesome Gods” drops tomorrow.

My owner got the Mind slides this week and immediately compared them to the Yeezy slides in a way that was unfavorable to the Mind slides. He then said he needed more wear time before forming a definitive conclusion which I respect — that’s responsible journalism. What I will say is that I have watched him put on the Mind slides every morning and I have watched him put on the Yeezy slides and his face does different things. The Mind slides face is content. The Yeezy slides face is something closer to joy. I’m not a shoe critic. I’m a dog. But I know what joy looks like on his face and it’s usually reserved for me, good food, and apparently the Yeezy slides.

The Mind slides are good. I want to be clear about that before anything else. At $95 they are a quality foam slide with real cushioning and a clean aesthetic that works with almost anything. The peace and recovery concept is genuine and the monthly drop cadence has built real community around the silhouette. I’ve been writing about the Mind for months and I believe in what it is.

But I’ve been wearing Yeezy slides since the original adidas run — before they had a style code, before they were $44 at JD Sports, back when they were just the Yeezy Slide and you had to move fast on adidas.com to get a pair. That initial feeling the first time I slipped one on has stayed with me. The way it sits under your foot. The specific give of the foam. The way it wraps. The new YS-01 through JD Sports carries that same DNA and it still does something the Mind doesn’t quite replicate for me yet. Whether that changes over time I don’t know. I’m giving both more wear before I say anything definitive. But the honest answer right now — the Yeezy slide just hits different from the first step.

THE UPTEMPO AND THE GLOVE

The Air More Uptempo Black and White snuck out and didn’t disappoint. That’s the right way to describe it — it snuck out. No massive marketing push. No influencer campaign. Just the shoe appearing at retail the way a shoe with 30 years of history doesn’t need to announce itself.

Black nubuck. White AIR lettering across the side panel. The 1996 Bulls season in footwear form. Scottie Pippen wearing these during a 72-win season that most people consider the greatest team ever assembled. At $170 the Uptempo is sitting out there and it deserves more attention than it’s getting.

The Glove — the Nike Air Zoom Flight ‘98 — dropped a few weeks back and I’ve been sitting with it since. Together these two took me somewhere. Late 90s basketball footwear at its most confident — before everything got maximalist and tech-forward and complicated. The zipper on the Glove. The block lettering on the Uptempo. Shoes that knew exactly what they were and didn’t need to explain themselves. That era is worth revisiting and both of these give you a direct line back to it.

Random thought — I need a new pair of Waverunners.

Not random actually. The Mizuno Wave Runner is genuinely one of the best sneakers produced in the last 20 years and it doesn’t get said enough. The wave plate technology, the proportions, the colorways, the way it sits on your foot — there’s an argument that nothing in the lifestyle running space has been more consistently excellent since it broke through. I’ll be revisiting this in a future issue properly. Just needed to say it out loud first.

The night the Cork LeBron 10s dropped I was at Walter’s. Nothing unusual for a big drop — the usual characters, familiar faces, somebody under a blanket on the sidewalk smoking a joint like it was a Tuesday afternoon. That’s just the culture. You don’t ask questions. You hold your spot and mind your business.

Things at Walter’s were chill. Relaxed energy. We had a plan — cop at Walter’s when they opened, then mob over to Wish ATL on Moreland to link with our boys who had been holding down that line since the night before.

Around 3AM the phone rang. It was the Wish crew.

Not a “we’re good come through” call. A “you need to hear what just happened” call.

Somebody had pulled up to the Wish line with intentions that had nothing to do with LeBrons. Tried to rob the line. What he didn’t account for was that one of the guys holding a spot that night was carrying. The robber didn’t make it. Police came, handled the scene, and then — in a moment that could only happen in Atlanta on a sneaker drop night — gave the shooter his gun back and let him go to the front of the line.

He copped first.

We still came through to Wish after Walter’s opened. Got our pairs. Everybody in that line who stayed had been through something together and they all knew it. The Cork LeBron 10s dropped that morning.

We just didn’t expect the Cork to get POPPED before they did.

Nike Lenox only put out two Mind 001 slides. Two. The Mind has been doing this all year — monthly drops that sell through fast and leave people chasing restocks. If Lenox only released two pairs there’s almost certainly more sitting in the back or a second wave coming. The Summit White colorway dropped August 20 at $95 and it’s the cleanest Mind colorway yet. 🐾 REMY — ON THE JELLYFISH CRYSTAL SAND

My owner showed me the Crystal Sand Jellyfish and I have to be honest with you. This might be the best colorway so far. The Triple White was fine. I have seen white things before — the couch cushions, the walls, my food bowl. But this one is different. Tan and brown layered like wet sand drying on the beach with blue hitting the tongue like ocean water coming in. Pharrell debuted these at a ceremony where this exact shoe won Shoe of the Year. He wore the winner to accept the award for the winner. That’s either confidence or poetry and I think it might be both. Saturday cannot come fast enough and I don’t even wear shoes.

So the Free The Youth 16s are in hand and they’re even better than the pictures.

I’ve been talking about this collab since we first mentioned it in Issue #024. Jonathan Coffie and the Free The Youth collective from Accra spent years building credibility before Jordan Brand gave them a real shot. And when they got it they didn’t take the easy path — they picked the Air Jordan 16, the one with the removable shroud that most people forget existed, and they loaded it with meaning. The metallic silver exterior. The Tawny Eagle on the alternate shroud. Green and red and gold underneath. The message inside the lid — “We succeeded in giving the people hope” — sitting there every time you open the box.

Holding them in hand it hits different than the images suggested. The silver leather has real depth to it. The eagle is more detailed than photos communicate. The interchangeable shroud concept actually works — two distinct looks in one shoe. MJ wore the 16 to his last championship and most sneakerheads couldn’t name the colorway until Free The Youth made them pay attention.

Very happy with this pair. Genuinely one of the more meaningful cops of the year.

Remy said what he said and I agree with him.

The Crystal Sand is the best Jellyfish colorway so far. Not because it’s the loudest — it’s actually the most restrained of the bunch. That’s exactly why it works. Tri-tone tan and brown across the upper like sand gradients at the waterline. Multiple shades shifting as your eye moves across the shoe — dry sand at the top, wet sand in the middle, something in between everywhere else. Light blue hits the tongue like a wave coming in. Glow-in-the-dark details built into the sculptural cage for when the sun goes down. The Jellyfish silhouette underneath all of it doing what it always does — looking like nothing else on the market.

The Flint 13s looked good on those kids. I would wear them if I had feet. I do not have feet in the traditional sense but I have paws and I think that’s actually more impressive.

Let me give you the full story on why this shoe is more interesting than it might look at first glance.

1989. Back to the Future Part II comes out and Marty McFly steps out of a DeLorean wearing a pair of self-lacing Nike shoes that nobody had ever seen before. Nike designers had actually made a real version of the shoe for the film — the Air Mag — and it immediately became one of the most iconic fictional sneakers in history. <cite index=”15-1”>The Air Tech Challenge II arrived that same year as Andre Agassi’s signature tennis shoe — designed by Tinker Hatfield, featuring visible Max Air heel cushioning and coloring that broke every rule of traditional tennis footwear.</cite>

Two shoes from 1989. Both Nike. Both designed by Tinker Hatfield. Both culturally significant in completely different ways. One was on a fictional teenager in a movie. One was on the most flamboyant tennis player alive.

Wednesday. August 12. Free The Youth drops Friday. The Kobe 5 Dodgers is out this week and I need to talk about it. The AJ6 Oreo dropped Saturday and honestly did what it was supposed to do — no drama, no chaos, just a clean shoe coming back after 16 years and the people who wanted it got it. And the G-Unit G6 is nine days out which means the 2003 in me is starting to get excited in ways I probably shouldn’t admit publicly.

My owner told me the Free The Youth shoe drops Friday and it’s from Ghana. I know what Ghana is because he explained it to me in detail and I listened politely while thinking about my squeaky toys. What I do understand is that someone from far away worked for years to earn the right to put their name on a Jordan and then chose a shoe most people forgot existed — the 16 — and made something with it that means something real. That’s the kind of move I respect. I also chewed my owner’s left shoelace this morning which I regret but I stand by my instincts.

Free The Youth drops Friday and I want to say something about this drop that I don’t think is getting said enough.

Jonathan Coffie and the Free The Youth collective from Accra, Ghana spent years building credibility in the sneaker world from a continent that rarely gets credited for the influence it has over global fashion. They got a friends-and-family AJ1 in December — a small Paris event, maybe a hundred pairs. That’s how Jordan Brand tests you. They watched how the collective handled the responsibility, how they carried themselves, how the community received it. And then they got the green light for a wider release.

They picked the Air Jordan 16. Not the 1. Not the 4. Not the shoe everyone lines up for automatically. The 16 — the one with the removable shroud that confused people in 2001 and got dismissed as a gimmick, the one that MJ actually won his last championship in, the one that doesn’t have a viral moment attached to it. They saw something in that shoe most people walked right past and they built a story around it rooted in West African culture, specifically the Tawny Eagle — Ghana’s national bird — embossed on one of the interchangeable shrouds.

Friday August 15. $255. freetheyouth.com and select Jordan Brand retailers. This is not a SNKRS drop — it’s going through boutique channels and their own site which keeps it intentional. If you want this shoe you’re going to have to look for it a little. That feels right for what it represents.

The message inside the box lid — “We succeeded in giving the people hope” — is not marketing copy. That’s a sentence from a movement. Buy this shoe because it means something beyond the colorway.

The Kobe 5 Protro “Dodgers” landed this week and it’s one of those drops where the colorway tells you everything you need to know about why Kobe meant different things to different people.

Royal Blue and Dodger Blue on white leather. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ palette on Kobe’s fifth signature shoe — the one that gave us the Bruce Lee, the Chaos, the Big Stage. Born and raised in the city that bleeds Dodger Blue. The “Dodgers” colorway isn’t licensed or officially endorsed by the team, but it doesn’t need to be. Everyone knows what they’re looking at.

$195. Available now through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. If the Kobe 5 silhouette is your thing — this is one of the stronger colorways of 2026.

Quick note on the AJ6 Oreo from Saturday — it did exactly what a 16-year-absent colorway should do. Moved through retail without chaos. Pairs available at select retailers without the secondary market going crazy. The Oreo was never going to be a Travis Scott situation. It was always going to be a shoe for people who actually know Jordan 6 history and wanted to be able to buy it at $215 without paying three times that on StockX. Those people got it. That’s how it should work.

We first reported this comeback in Issue #009 when Tony Yayo confirmed it on The Real Report podcast. Now it’s official, the images are out, and August 20 is locked.

The 2026 retro is a 1:1 recreation of the original 2003 white/blue-red colorway. White leather upper. Grey suede toe cap. Red, white, and blue accents. G-6 silver lace dubrae. “G-Unit” embroidered in blue on the lateral heel.

Here’s the story that makes this drop matter beyond just nostalgia. The G6 first arrived in 2003 alongside 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ debut — making him one of the earliest rappers to front his own sneaker line at real commercial scale. The partnership reportedly generated $80 million for 50 at its peak. 50 himself claimed the G6 outsold Jay-Z’s S. Carter line six to one during their shared run on Reebok’s roster.

Before Travis Scott. Before Off-White. Before every rapper had a Nike or Jordan deal — 50 Cent and Jay-Z were building the blueprint through Reebok. The G6 is part of that history.

The Yeezy return to retail through JD Sports is worth thinking about for a minute beyond the slide itself.

Ye lost his adidas deal. Lost his Gap deal. Lost his Balenciaga deal. Lost his representation. Lost his recording contracts at various points. And then quietly built an independent operation — LA Apparel manufacturing, direct to consumer sales, unreasonably priced clothing that somehow kept selling. And now JD Sports — one of the largest athletic retailers on earth — is his exclusive retail partner.

I’m not here to tell you what to think about Ye as a person. You already have your opinion and I respect that. What I will say is that from a business standpoint watching someone lose everything at the brand level and slowly rebuild an independent infrastructure that ends with JD Sports coming to them rather than the other way around — that’s a remarkable business story regardless of how you feel about everything else.

Here is the full story on this shoe.

The Air Jordan 8 was designed in 1993 — worn by MJ during his back to back championship seasons. The original Jordan 8 “Playoffs” featured an inner tongue pattern inspired by West African art. For the Bin23 edition Jordan Brand took that same West African artwork and redid it as debossed detailing across the cross straps — something that feels distinctly new while being deeply rooted in the original design language.

Full tonal Legion Pine nubuck covers every panel, every strap, every surface. The Bin23 red wax seal sits on the left tongue. Side plates usually covered in bright accent graphics are rendered in matching Legion Pine nubuck. The African pattern returns in color on the center portion of the outsole — the only pop of contrast on the entire shoe, visible only from below.

Wooden shoe trees. Individual suede dust bags. Drawer-style green and brown box. Stitched leather insoles. 2,300 individually numbered pairs worldwide.

The AJ7 Miro dropped Friday — 18 years of waiting ended. The Soul Goods Homescape Brown dropped Saturday and we need to talk about this shoe properly because it deserves more than a recap line. And I have good news for everyone who wanted the Blue Beyond — it’s not over. It’s coming.

We’ve been tracking this shoe since Issue #017 when it was still just early images with no confirmed date. Now that the Brown has dropped and the full picture is clear — here’s everything you need to know.

THE SHOE ITSELF — WHAT SOUL GOODS ACTUALLY BUILT

Soul Goods is a Beijing-based retailer and creative label founded in 2016 with a motto of “From Beijing to the World.” Before the Homescape, their Nike partnerships included thoughtful Dunk High and Air Ship collabs — both recognized for choosing overlooked models rather than chasing the most obvious silhouettes. The Homescape is their most ambitious project yet by a significant margin.

The starting point was the Nike Footscape Woven — a silhouette from the mid-2000s that kept the asymmetrical lacing system of the original 1990s Footscape runner and added a hand-woven leather textile across the midfoot. A cult favorite that never fully broke through to mainstream but maintained a devoted collector base. Soul Goods co-founder Wu Yue looked at that shoe and started asking questions that most collaborators don’t ask — not “what color should we make it” but “what can we change about the shoe itself.”

The answer was everything except the DNA.

The Homescape Woven keeps the asymmetrical lacing. It keeps the woven leather panel bridging the main upper sections. But underneath it trades the lifestyle sole unit for the aggressive tread pattern from Nike’s Special Field Boot — the military and outdoor performance boot Nike makes for actual field use. That swap alone changes the entire character of the shoe. It goes from a fashion piece to something that can genuinely handle light trail conditions while still looking like footwear from a thoughtful creative label.

The upper reduces the amount of woven material compared to the original Footscape Woven, using larger leather and suede sections with oversized stitching connecting the panels. A wraparound mudguard runs the shoe’s perimeter. Soul Goods’ tiger logo sits on the heel and tongue — earned branding, not a logo slap. A collapsible heel allows the shoe to be worn as a full sneaker or folded down as a mule or slipper — which is where the Homescape name comes from. Town to trail to couch. The Home in HomeScape is intentional.

Unveiled at ComplexCon Las Vegas in December 2025. Paris Fashion Week pop-up in June 2026. Global release July 11.

This is not a colorway project. This is a new silhouette built from the ground up through real creative partnership. There’s a meaningful difference and the sneaker community can feel it when they hold the shoe.

THE THREE COLORWAYS — STATUS UPDATE:

→ MEDIUM OREWOOD BROWN — HM6961-001 — $180

DROPPED JULY 11. Released through a small number of select retailers — not SNKRS, not a wide Nike.com drop. Cream and brown leather over a grey sole with Dark Blue Grey accents. Distribution was quiet and limited — the kind of drop that rewards people who were paying attention. If you got it — you’re wearing it constantly. If you missed it — check the handful of retailers who carried it for any remaining inventory. This was not a general release.

→ BLUE BEYOND — HM6961-400 — $170

COMING FALL 2026. This is the news I’ve been waiting to confirm. The Blue Beyond is not gone — it’s coming separately in Fall 2026 at $170 through Soul Goods, Nike, and select retailers. Sky blue suede and leather in multiple shades with a two-tone olive/peat moss sole. Confirmed unisex sizing.

I have been saying since Issue #017 that the Blue Beyond is coming home with me and Remy. Fall 2026 means that’s still happening. The dream cop is alive.

→ CHILE RED — HM6961-600 — $180

Still leaning international through Soul Goods channels. Deep red leather with a hairy tan suede toe cap and black sole. Bold and textured. The statement colorway of the three. No confirmed US date yet — watching closely.

DSK PREDICTION — labeled clearly: Given how the Brown performed on its July 11 launch, I expect the Blue Beyond Fall 2026 drop to generate significantly more demand than the Brown did — both because of the colorway itself and because of the attention the entire pack has received since launch. The Soul Goods Homescape is the shoe I keep coming back to this month.

Not because it’s the most hyped. Not because the resell is wild. Because Wu Yue and the Soul Goods team were given a shoe and the freedom to actually change it — and they asked the right questions. Not “what color should we make this” but “what can this shoe become that it hasn’t been yet.” The answer was a silhouette that works at home, in the street, and on a light trail — a shoe that earns the name HomeScape because the concept is baked into every design decision.

The Air Jordan 7 Miro dropping today is a reminder of something important about this culture.

Not every great shoe gets its flowers right away. The Miro came out in 2008 with real artistic intention — a tribute to one of MJ’s greatest moments as a team player, not as a scorer or competitor, but as an American representing his country alongside the greatest collection of basketball talent ever assembled. The shoe told that story beautifully. And then it quietly became one of the most expensive pairs on the secondary market that nobody talked about loudly because it was hard to explain to someone who hadn’t done the homework.

Wednesday July 8. Taking Monday as a personal day was needed — and it came with a very good reason. Friday July 3rd was Remy’s first birthday. One year old. My dog, my mascot, my most consistent columnist turned one while I was out here building a newsletter, driving Uber, and trying to cop shoes. He deserved the long weekend.

We’re back. Two drops tomorrow — AJ7 Miro and Birds of Paradise. Homescape is tomorrow too. The SS26 Supreme season may be winding down or already done — we’ll cover what we know. And the AJ8 Bin23 just officially leaked and it is a statement.

The Bin23 AJ8 is polarizing and that’s by design. The AJ8 silhouette is one of the busiest in the Jordan catalog — multiple straps, lots of paneling, a lot going on. The tonal Legion Pine treatment uses that busyness as a feature rather than a problem. Full green on a loud shoe makes it read as luxury rather than chaos. The monochrome approach is exactly the right call on this silhouette.

Is it for everyone? No. Is it a collector’s piece? Without question. 2,300 numbered pairs of anything from the Bin23 series is grail-bound before it even drops.

The Guns Embroidered Leather Backpack moved faster than most people expected — DSK called it the sleeper of the week and it proved out. The Fender Precision Bass is the most expensive and most ambitious novelty item of the SS26 season. Supreme really dropped a playable bass guitar. The Shure microphone before it. The ATM before that. This season has been genuinely unhinged in the best way.

Let me tell you the story of this shoe because it deserves the full version.

It’s 1992. Barcelona, Spain. Michael Jordan and the original Dream Team — arguably the greatest collection of basketball talent ever assembled — are playing in the Summer Olympics. Jordan is wearing his Air Jordan 7 on the court. The Dream Team wins gold. Jordan wears number 9 for the US Olympic team — not his usual 23. That detail matters. Remember it.

Fast forward to 2008. Beijing is hosting the Summer Olympics. Jordan Brand creates a special edition Air Jordan 7 to honor the Barcelona legacy — named after Spanish artist Joan Miró whose sculpture Dona i Ocell — Woman and Bird — stands in Barcelona. The colorway pulls directly from Miró’s work. Primary colors scattered across the upper like paint splashed on canvas. Yellow, red, green, blue, black. Abstract shapes across every panel mimicking Miró’s broken-tile mosaics and bold brushwork. Gold accents on the lace locks and branding. A translucent outsole showing gold-tinted Jumpman graphics underneath.

And that gold 9 on the heel instead of 23. A direct nod to Jordan’s Olympic jersey number. That detail connects 1992 Barcelona to 2008 Beijing on a single pair of shoes.

The 2008 release was limited to roughly 1,000 pairs worldwide. One thousand. That’s smaller than the Bin23 we just covered in June. The shoes immediately became a grail — trading at four figures on the secondary market for the better part of 18 years because there was simply no other way to get them.

Now it’s July 10, 2026. First retro. First time most people who wanted these will ever have a legitimate shot at retail.

The 2026 version is a broader release than the original — still limited but fundamentally different from a sub-1,000-pair micro-run. $255 retail is a price increase from the original $175 but in line with where premium AJ7 retros are priced right now. Pre-order asks have already been hitting around $400 which tells you everything about the demand level heading into next Friday.

Is this shoe for everyone? No. The colorway is loud, artistic, and deliberately unconventional. That’s exactly the point. Love it or not — when someone pops out wearing the Miro next week everyone in the room who knows shoes is going to recognize it immediately.

This is an 18-year grail finally accessible to regular people. That’s the whole story.

Today I want to talk about Ghana getting its moment in the Jordan Brand story, a leaked Holiday pack that’s going to be one of the most luxurious things Jordan Brand has ever made, and a Nike collab silhouette I have been waiting on for weeks that finally has a confirmed date and I am genuinely excited about all three colorways.

Let’s get into it.

We covered this shoe back in Issue #017 when it was still an early look with no confirmed date. It’s official now. July 11. All three colorways. $180 each.

This is genuinely one of the most exciting Nike collabs of the second half of 2026 for me personally and I’m not hiding that.

Quick recap on why this shoe matters — Soul Goods, the Beijing label behind it, didn’t just pick a colorway on an existing Nike shoe. They built something new from the ground up starting with the Air Footscape Woven and reshaping it with input on the tooling itself. The result borrows the rugged sole from Nike’s Special Field Boot line, keeps the woven leather construction up top, and adds a collapsible heel that turns the shoe into a slip-on mule when you fold it down. A toggle lacing system and a tiger-shaped lace lock round out the details — the tiger being a nod to Soul Goods’ own identity.

THE THREE COLORWAYS:

→ MEDIUM OREWOOD BROWN/DARK FIELD BROWN/DARK BLUE GREY — HM6961-001

The primary US release. Cream and brown tones with a quiet grey sole. Earthy, grounded, the practical everyday cop.

→ BLUE BEYOND/LIGHT BLUE/PEAT MOSS — HM6961-400

Sky blue, royal blue, and olive accents. This is the one. I called it the dream cop back in Issue #017 and nothing has changed my mind. If anything seeing the confirmed release made me want it more.

→ CHILE RED/BLACK/DARK SMOKE GREY — HM6961-600

Deep red leather contrasted against a beige long-pile suede panel. Bold, textured, the statement colorway of the three.

White and brown was the first colorway most people saw — and it’s beautiful on its own. But once the full Blue Beyond images came through that became the one. Mint undertones in that olive sole, the layered blues across the upper — this shoe just does something different than anything else dropping this summer.

Soul Goods is hosting a launch event during Paris Men’s Fashion Week starting June 22 — international press and serious sneaker attention before the wider release. The Brown colorway is confirmed for the US market through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. The Blue Beyond and Chile Red are expected to lean more international but final availability is still developing — which means there’s still a window for the US market to get more access than initially planned.

Free The Youth is a Ghanaian creative collective founded in Accra in 2014 by Jonathan Coffie, Kelly Foli, Winfred Mensah, and Richard Kweku Ormano — originally built to empower Ghanaian and African youth and connect global art scenes to Ghanaian-inspired street culture. After joining Jordan Brand’s 40th Anniversary campaign and dropping an extremely limited friends-and-family Air Jordan 1 last December, this is their first collab the public can actually buy.

The silhouette they chose says everything about their approach — the Air Jordan 16. Designed by Wilson Smith III in 2001 with a removable shroud meant to give one shoe two distinct looks, the AJ16 has been one of the most overlooked models in the entire Jordan line. Free The Youth picked the forgotten one and gave it real attention.

Metallic silver leather covers most of the toe box, side panels, and the removable shroud itself. Underneath — layers of black leather and ventilated mesh. Green and orange accents pull traditional Ghanaian culture directly into the design. Two interchangeable shrouds mean you can style this shoe multiple ways — the first shroud keeps the silver aesthetic clean, while removing it reveals the bolder color story underneath.

The box itself carries a message on the inside of the lid — “We succeeded in giving the people hope.” That’s not packaging. That’s a statement.

This is a rarely-retroed silhouette getting real attention from a collective that’s earned a real platform. July 17. Mark it.

Jordan Brand is reportedly preparing a “Black Pack” for Holiday 2026 built around four of the most unconventional silhouettes in the entire line — the Air Jordan 14 Low, Air Jordan 15, Air Jordan 16, and Air Jordan 17 Low. These are models that almost never get coordinated capsule treatment, and the approach here sounds genuinely premium rather than just another all-black colorway.

Layered black, charcoal, and graphite tones. Animal-inspired textures — pony hair, ostrich, snakeskin, gator-style finishes depending on the model. Subtle sheen shifts doing the heavy lifting instead of loud branding. $240 per pair according to current leaks.

The rumored rollout has the AJ14 Low and AJ16 landing October 1st or 3rd depending on the source, with the AJ15 and AJ17 Low following November 2nd or 7th. Limited availability through NBHD retailers and SNKRS.

Worth noting — we just talked about the AJ16 above with Free The Youth’s July release. If the Black Pack leaks hold up, the 16 gets two completely different stories in the same year — a culturally rich collab in summer and a stealth luxury execution in fall. That’s a real moment for one of Jordan Brand’s most slept-on silhouettes.

He changed the relationship between Black athletes, corporate America, and cultural identity in ways that still reverberate today. The Air Jordan line is Black excellence in physical form.
