Today, I launched Peach Please.

Even as I write that sentence, I’m not sure I fully understand how much it means.

From the outside, Peach Please may look like a marketplace, a blog, or another content platform. But to me, it represents something much deeper: the moment I finally accepted that a dream can change shape without becoming a failure.

For years, I was married to one very specific idea of success: becoming a celebrity stylist.

It wasn’t a whim. I worked, studied, built relationships, carried suitcases, solved last-minute crises, tracked down impossible dresses, and learned how to make things happen when everything seemed to be working against me.

I built a large part of my career around that vision. For a long time, I believed moving to Los Angeles would be the moment when all the pieces finally fell into place.

I thought living in the city of red carpets, major photoshoots, fashion showrooms, and celebrity culture would automatically bring me closer to the life I had imagined.

Then I arrived.

What I found was very different from what I had created in my head.

Los Angeles is a city where so much of the path has already been mapped out. Celebrities have established teams. Those teams have relationships that go back years. And many of the biggest opportunities circulate within structures that existed long before you arrived with your suitcases, your experience, and all the ambition in the world.

That doesn’t mean it is impossible to break in. It certainly doesn’t mean I don’t have the talent to do it.

It simply means the reality was far more complicated than the fantasy.

And yes, I was disappointed.

Admitting that hurt because I’m not used to things not working out for me. I’m used to working harder, finding another door, creating my own window—and showing up with a hammer if necessary.

But there are moments when persistence stops being courage and starts becoming a way of clinging to a very specific version of ourselves.

I kept trying to prove that I could become the stylist I had imagined for so many years. And the more I tried to control exactly what my career was supposed to look like, the less space I left to notice everything else that was beginning to grow around me.

Because while I was staring obsessively at one door, thousands of women were approaching me from another direction.

Women who didn’t necessarily want to know what a celebrity would wear on a red carpet. They wanted to know what they could wear tomorrow.

They wanted to talk about their bodies, their forties, perimenopause, exhaustion, beauty, confidence, and the strange experience of still feeling like yourself while everything around—and inside—you begins to change.

They wanted honest recommendations.

They wanted to know what was working for me, which products were worth the money, what I had tried, what I loved, and what I would never buy again.

They wanted to feel supported during a stage of life that is usually discussed through fear, embarrassment, or an obsession with staying young.

That is how Peach Please began.

So, what exactly is Peach Please?

Peach Please is a curated marketplace, an editorial platform, and an ongoing conversation created for women navigating this new stage of adulthood.

It is a space where I can share products, information, experiences, and discoveries based on what I am living, researching, and genuinely using—not simply what someone is paying me to place in front of a camera.

It is where beauty, style, wellness, hormones, aging, confidence, and the wonderfully confusing reality of our forties can exist in the same conversation.

But the vision is not to create another website filled with random products.

The vision is to build a trusted destination for women who are overwhelmed by options but still want to feel good, look good, and make informed decisions about what they bring into their lives.

I want Peach Please to help answer a simple question:

What is actually worth it for women like us?

Not everything will be perfect for everyone. That is exactly why curation matters.

I want to take the noise, the endless recommendations, the miracle promises, and the millions of products being sold to women—and turn them into something more personal, honest, and useful.

My influence has to mean something

Between TikTok and Instagram, I have built a combined audience of more than 1.6 million followers.

I don’t say that only as a number or as a vanity metric. Behind that number are real women who have trusted me with their questions, insecurities, stories, bodies, closets, beauty routines, and major life transitions.

For years, social media gave me visibility. Now I want to use that visibility to build something with substance.

I did not spend years building an audience just to convince women to purchase whatever happened to arrive in my mailbox that week.

I want to use my influence with intention.

I want to use it to listen.

To identify patterns.

To ask better questions.

To test ideas.

To introduce products that solve real problems.

To give visibility to brands that deserve to be discovered.

And, eventually, to help create the things women keep telling me they cannot find.

My audience is not simply the place where Peach Please will be promoted. The audience is part of how Peach Please will be built.

Every question, comment, message, recommendation, complaint, and “Diva, have you tried this?” gives us information about what women actually need.

That conversation is the foundation of the business.

How Peach Please will be built

Peach Please will grow in stages.

First comes the content: honest conversations, useful information, personal experiences, and education around the changes women experience in their forties and beyond.

Then comes the curation: finding, testing, researching, and organizing products so women don’t have to spend hours trying to figure out what might work for them.

Then comes the marketplace: a place where those recommendations can be discovered and accessed more easily.

From there, the community will help us understand where the gaps are—what products are missing, which problems are being ignored, and what women wish someone would finally create for them.

That could lead to meaningful collaborations, strategic partnerships, exclusive products, or completely new solutions developed from the needs of the community.

I want Peach Please to become a real, profitable, scalable company. I’m not embarrassed to say that.

Purpose and profitability are allowed to coexist.

I want to build a business that creates value for the women who trust me, opportunities for the brands we believe in, and something sustainable that can continue growing beyond an individual social media post.

And I’m not building it alone.

Behind this crazy idea are the expertise, structure, and support of Scalable MX—a team that understood Peach Please wasn’t simply a cute concept or another influencer project. It has the potential to become an entire ecosystem.

I bring the experience, the voice, the relationship with my audience, and an understanding of the questions women are already asking.

They are helping me build the structure that can turn those conversations into something sustainable.

This is not a goodbye to styling

I want to make one thing very clear: I am not giving up on being a stylist.

I’m not closing that door or denying a part of myself that I deeply love. I’m not walking away because I got scared, and I haven’t stopped believing in what I can do.

I’m simply no longer forcing a dream to look exactly the way I once imagined it.

I’m letting it flow.

Maybe my work with celebrities will continue to grow. Maybe new opportunities, clients, and red carpets will come.

But I no longer need that to be the only evidence that I have succeeded.

I don’t want to measure my value solely by the person I dress, the invitation I receive, or the famous name that appears next to mine.

Peach Please is not my Plan B.

It is the result of everything I have lived: my years in communications, my experience in fashion and beauty, my work as a stylist, the moves, the rejection, the opportunities, the changes in my body, and the conversations with a community that has grown alongside me.

Today, I don’t feel as if I am abandoning one version of my life.

I feel as if I am finally making room for every version of myself that exists now.

The stylist is still here.

The communications strategist is still here.

The content creator is still here.

The woman who dreams of building enormous things is definitely still here.

But now there is also a woman in her forties who listens to herself more, demands a little less of herself, and understands that changing direction doesn’t always mean you are lost.

Sometimes, it means your vision has finally become bigger than the original dream.

Today I launched Peach Please, and for the first time in a long time, I don’t need to know exactly how far it will go.

I only know that it was born from an honest place, a real need, and a stage of life I no longer want to experience while hiding, apologizing, or pretending that nothing is changing.

Everything is changing.

My body is changing.

My priorities are changing.

My definition of success is changing.

And maybe that isn’t a tragedy.

Maybe it is the beginning of something much bigger.

Welcome to Peach Please.

I am already in Mexico City.

I traveled from Los Angeles to execute the wardrobe direction for a television project. And I have to confess that, from the beginning, the entire process already felt chaotic.

There were intentions, certainly. There were ideas, enthusiasm, opinions and people eager to participate.

What was missing was actual direction.

Instead of a clear structure, there were personal interests, competing priorities and decisions shaped by whoever wanted to have the loudest voice in the room. Everyone seemed to have an opinion about the final image, but very few people understood the work, the process or the consequences behind each decision.

And perhaps this is also part of working as a stylist.

We do not only manage clothes.

We manage expectations, insecurities, personalities, last-minute changes and, quite often, other people’s egos.

We are expected to turn disorder into something visually coherent. We are asked to make things work even when the structure around us does not. We solve problems that should have been prevented long before the clothes arrived.

But there is a difference between being adaptable and working inside a project where no one understands professional boundaries.

That difference is structure.

A Creative Director Is Not Just the Person With the Best Taste

The term “creative director” has become so widely used that it sometimes feels like everyone wants the title, while very few people understand the responsibility behind it.

A creative director is not simply someone who chooses what looks beautiful.

They are responsible for creating and protecting the visual direction of a project.

They translate an idea into a clear language. They decide what the image should communicate, how every creative department contributes to that message and which ideas support the final objective.

A real creative director does not need to personally execute every task. Their job is to make sure every task belongs to the same story.

Wardrobe, hair, makeup, photography, video, set design, lighting and communication cannot operate as separate islands. Every department must understand the same character, the same intention and the same visual destination.

That is what creative direction provides.

It gives people a framework in which to create.

Without that framework, people do not collaborate. They compete.

The Difference Between Direction and Control

Creative direction is not about controlling every person in the room.

It is about defining the path clearly enough that every professional can do their job.

A strong creative director gives the stylist the information necessary to build the wardrobe. The stylist then interprets that direction through silhouette, color, proportion, fabric, designers and practical requirements.

Hair and makeup do the same within their own departments.

Everyone brings expertise. Everyone contributes ideas. But there must be one final creative filter.

Otherwise, the talent receives five different instructions from five different people, often within the same hour.

One person wants glamour.

Another wants relatability.

Someone else wants fashion.

Another person is worried about appearing too dramatic.

A friend wants the talent to look younger. A manager wants the image to feel commercial. A producer wants everything to be practical. Someone who is not responsible for any of those areas suddenly wants to change the entire concept.

And in the middle of all of it is the person who must wear the clothes, enter the set and somehow feel confident.

This is why hierarchy matters.

Not because one person’s opinion is more valuable as a human being, but because someone must be responsible for the final decision.

An Organizational Chart Protects the Talent

People often think structure is cold or unnecessarily corporate.

It is not.

In a creative project, structure protects the process and, most importantly, protects the talent.

The person in front of the camera should not be forced to navigate disagreements between the people working around them. They should not be receiving contradictory instructions or feeling responsible for keeping everyone happy.

Their job is to perform, communicate and inhabit the image we are building.

Our job is to create enough clarity that they can do that without carrying the chaos of the team.

The moment a client begins receiving disconnected opinions from managers, friends, stylists, producers and assistants, confidence starts to disappear.

Even a beautiful look can begin to feel wrong when ten people have questioned it.

That is not collaboration. That is creative erosion.

Everyone Can Contribute, but Not Everyone Can Direct

A healthy creative environment welcomes ideas.

A stylist may notice that a silhouette is not working. A makeup artist may understand how certain colors will react under lighting. A producer may identify a logistical limitation. The talent may express that something does not feel authentic.

All of that information matters.

But contributing an idea is not the same as directing a project.

Once a direction has been established, the team has to support it. Constantly reopening decisions does not improve the result. It weakens it.

At some point, the conversation must end and the execution must begin.

This is particularly important in wardrobe. Clothing requires fittings, alterations, loans, purchases, transportation, approvals and returns. Every change has a financial and logistical consequence.

It is easy to casually suggest a different look when you are not the person responsible for finding it, fitting it, transporting it and making sure it arrives on time.

Opinions are free.

Execution is not.

Chaos Is Not Creativity

There is a dangerous habit within fashion and entertainment of romanticizing chaos.

Disorganization is presented as spontaneity. Lack of preparation is described as creative freedom. Poor communication is treated as part of the excitement.

But chaos is not creativity.

Chaos drains creativity.

It forces trained professionals to spend their energy solving preventable problems instead of producing stronger work.

The best creative environments are not necessarily rigid, but they are clear.

People know their responsibilities. They understand who approves what. They know when a decision is final. They trust each other enough to work without constantly stepping into someone else’s department.

That trust is what allows creativity to grow.

The Work Is Bigger Than the Outfit

I came to Mexico City to build a wardrobe, but wardrobe is never only about clothes.

It is about narrative.

It is about understanding who someone is, what they are about to experience and how their image can support them through it.

But no stylist, no matter how experienced, can create coherence inside a system that refuses to define its own structure.

We can solve many things.

We can change a silhouette, replace a dress, alter a hem, rethink a color palette or rebuild an entire look hours before it is needed.

What we cannot do indefinitely is compensate for the absence of leadership.

A creative director creates the vision.

The departments translate that vision.

The talent makes it alive.

And when everyone understands their place, the result does not feel controlled.

It feels effortless.

That effortless image is rarely the product of luck.

It is the result of structure, trust and people having enough respect for one another to let everyone do the job they were hired to do.

As I was packing my suitcases, I found myself thinking about something that still surprises me, even after years of working in this industry: people still think a stylist gets paid to pick out clothes.

We don’t.

Or at least, that’s only a tiny fraction of what we actually do.

This past week, I spent hours driving across Los Angeles, visiting showrooms, coordinating loans, answering emails, requesting samples, checking sizing, solving last-minute issues, and carrying more garment bags than my back would recommend.

All of that for a production that, if everything goes according to plan, will make someone look at the final photos and simply think:

“Great outfit.”

That’s the paradox of creative work. When we do our jobs well, it looks effortless.

A few days ago, something happened that perfectly illustrates the problem.

After presenting a proposal that had already been approved, I joined a meeting with the client’s team only to realize the scope of the project had quietly expanded. More appearances. More looks. More logistics. More work.

When I explained that those additional deliverables required additional resources, the conversation quickly shifted toward a word I’ve been hearing more and more lately:

Collaboration.

And that’s when I realized this wasn’t really about one project. It was about something much bigger.

In Mexico, there is still a tremendous lack of understanding about the difference between celebrity styling, personal styling, and wardrobe for productions.

Those are three completely different services.

A stylist’s creative fee is one thing.

A wardrobe budget is another.

Transportation, tailoring, assistants, alterations, returns, and logistics are something else entirely.

Yet somehow, they’re often expected to fit into one number.

And when they don’t, the easiest solution seems to be asking the creative to absorb the difference.

I don’t write this because I believe Mexico doesn’t value talent. Quite the opposite. Some of the most gifted creatives I’ve ever worked with are Mexican.

What I do believe is that our industry still needs more education around what creative work actually involves.

Because creativity isn’t just inspiration.

It’s planning.

It’s strategy.

It’s relationships.

It’s logistics.

It’s responsibility.

And yes, it’s physical labor.

People don’t see the hours spent building a concept. They don’t see the mood boards that evolve through dozens of revisions before anyone else opens the PDF.

They don’t see the emails, the follow-ups, the negotiations with brands, or the years it takes to earn the trust that allows you to pull clothing from luxury fashion houses.

They definitely don’t see the gas, the parking, the traffic, or the weight of garment bags after the fifth showroom visit of the day.

The invisible work is still work.

One thing I’ve learned over the past year in the United States is that, while no industry is perfect, there is generally a clearer understanding that every professional involved in a production brings value.

Stylists charge.

Tailors charge.

Assistants charge.

Producers charge.

Wardrobe has a budget.

Those conversations happen without anyone questioning whether the work itself deserves to be paid.

Collaboration certainly exists here, too.

I’ve built wonderful relationships through collaborations.

But the best collaborations have one thing in common:

Both sides benefit in a measurable way.

Collaboration should never become another word for free labor. There’s another layer to this conversation that I think we rarely acknowledge. Time has never been more valuable than it is today.

Every hour I spend driving across the city, picking up garments, or coordinating a production is an hour I’m not creating content, teaching a course, consulting clients, writing here on Substack, or investing in my own business.

Clients aren’t simply paying for the hours they see.

They’re paying for the opportunities I choose to put on hold while I dedicate my expertise to their project.

And that distinction matters.

I also think social media has changed how we perceive value.

Today, influence comes from many different places.

Actors, creators, entrepreneurs, reality TV personalities, and digital creators can all have extraordinary reach.

That’s exciting.

But it’s also created a culture where visibility is sometimes treated as currency.

“I’ll tag you.”

“You’ll get exposure.”

“You’ll be seen.”

Exposure can absolutely create opportunities. But exposure doesn’t pay for gas. It doesn’t pay assistants.

It doesn’t pay for alterations, shipping, insurance, or the years spent building the relationships that make the work possible in the first place.

Not every opportunity is valuable simply because it’s visible.

As creatives, we also have to take responsibility for this culture.

Every time we accept significantly more work for the same budget, absorb costs without saying anything, or undervalue our expertise because we’re afraid of losing an opportunity, we reinforce the very system we’re frustrated by.

I’ve done it too…More than once.

Sometimes because I genuinely believed in the project.

Sometimes because I cared about the relationship.

Sometimes because I thought the opportunity might lead somewhere bigger.

Occasionally, it did.

Many times, it didn’t.

Learning to protect your value doesn’t make you difficult.

It makes you a professional.

As I head to Mexico City today, I can’t help but think this conversation is long overdue.

Because this was never really about one project, one client, or one negotiation.

It’s about an industry that’s still learning how to value creative work, and about the invisible work so many of us do every single day.

I have a feeling this is only the beginning of a much bigger conversation.

I’ve spent the last few weeks in “before the silence” mode — that stretch where you know something big is about to start, and you can still talk about it calmly, before the launch rush hits.

Right now, Mexico City breathes fashion in a way I’ve rarely seen. I’m not just talking runways. I’m talking about workshops tucked away in Roma, designers hand-cutting patterns in apartments turned studios, a generation rewriting what “made in Mexico” means.

That’s what I want to talk about over the next few weeks: the inner workings of this industry, who’s actually behind the pieces you see on screen, and why this city became the place where Mexican fashion started building its own pathway.

I’m telling you this now because in a few days I’m starting two projects that are keeping me up at night — the good kind. I’ll be designing wardrobe for one of the most-watched reality shows in Mexico, premiering late July, and at the same time collaborating closely with Mar Contreras on a project I can’t fully share yet — but it circles the same question: what does it mean to dress someone the whole country is watching.

I’d rather tell you this before it starts, not after. Because what’s coming isn’t just “wardrobe” — it’s a window into how Mexican fashion gets built in real time, under pressure, on camera, with millions of eyes on it.

A few weeks ago I wrote about how your outfit is content — how your visual presence communicates before you say a single word, whether you’ve thought about it or not. The comments and messages I got back pointed to something I hadn’t fully expected: people are thinking about this. They understand, maybe more than ever, that image is a language. But what they’re less sure about is where image ends and identity begins. When does curating your appearance become performing a version of yourself? When does intentionality cross into inauthenticity?

Those questions landed in me. And they’re what this piece is about.

There’s a word that gets used so often in conversations about social media that it has almost lost its meaning.

Authentic.

Everyone wants to be authentic. Everyone says they are. And yet, most of what we call authenticity online is actually something else — a performance of rawness, a carefully selected version of mess, a vulnerability filter applied with the same intention as any other aesthetic choice.

I’m not saying that’s wrong. I’m saying we should be honest about what it is.

What We Actually Mean When We Say “Authentic”

When most people talk about being authentic on social media, they mean unfiltered. They mean spontaneous. They mean not trying too hard.

But that’s not authenticity. That’s just a different kind of trying.

Real authenticity isn’t the absence of intention. It’s alignment — between who you are, what you believe, and how you show up. You can be entirely authentic and also be very deliberate. Those two things aren’t opposites.

The confusion comes from conflating authenticity with rawness. And that confusion costs people — professionally, strategically, in ways they don’t always see coming until the opportunity is already gone.

I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it. A post that felt completely real in the moment but communicated something I didn’t intend. A story I shared because it was honest that positioned me in a way that didn’t serve what I was building. Being authentic without awareness isn’t liberation. Sometimes it’s just noise.

The Moment Authenticity Becomes a Strategy — And Why That’s Not a Betrayal

Here’s the part that makes people uncomfortable: at some point, if you’re serious about what you’re building, your authenticity has to become intentional.

That sentence sounds like a contradiction. It isn’t.

Think of it this way. You are, at your core, a complex person. You contain multitudes — moods, opinions, contradictions, phases, things you’re still figuring out. All of that is real. All of that is you.

But your audience doesn’t experience all of you. They experience what you choose to share, when you choose to share it, through the frame you put around it.

The question isn’t whether you’re being edited. You are. Always. The question is whether you’re doing the editing consciously or unconsciously — and which version of that serves you better.

Strategy doesn’t corrupt authenticity. Unconsciousness does.

When You Know You’ve Crossed the Line

There’s a difference between editing yourself and erasing yourself.

Editing is choosing which true things to share, and when. It’s understanding that not every real thought belongs in a caption. It’s knowing that the version of yourself that shows up at 2am ranting about something is also real — but might not be the version that serves the conversation you’re trying to have with your audience.

Erasing is when you stop sharing things because they’re true, and start sharing things because they perform well. When your content stops being a filtered version of you and becomes a constructed version of an idea of you.

The way I know I’ve crossed that line? When I don’t recognize myself in what I’m putting out. When I post something and feel nothing — not because I’m calm, but because there’s no real piece of me in it.

That’s the signal. And it’s a signal worth paying attention to.

The Balance Nobody Talks About Honestly

The real tension isn’t between being authentic and being strategic. It’s between being authentic to yourself and being legible to your audience.

Your audience needs consistency to trust you. They need to be able to build a picture of you across time. That requires some structure. Some intentionality. Some editing.

But that structure only works if it’s built around something real. If the thing underneath the strategy is hollow — if you’re curating a persona rather than revealing a person — your audience will eventually feel it. They might not be able to name it. But they’ll feel the distance.

The balance is this: know what you’re authentic to. Not just how you feel today, but what you actually stand for. What you’re building. Who you’re in conversation with. And then be radically honest within that frame.

The frame is strategy. The honesty inside it is authenticity.

One without the other doesn’t work.

This Is What It Looks Like on a Body

A striped midi skirt — bold, graphic, the kind of piece that demands to be seen. A denim jacket belted at the waist, which has no business working with those stripes, and yet. White pumps. A silk scarf knotted on a Louis Vuitton bag I’ve had for years.

This is not a calculated outfit. But it’s also not an accident.

For a long time, fashion — the industry, the work, the proximity to other people’s taste — made me quiet my own. The playful part. The part that likes red stripes and thinks mixing patterns is a good idea and doesn’t need everything to match to feel put together. I learned to dress for other people’s standards before I learned to dress for myself.

That’s what happens when you spend years being the one who makes everyone else look right. You start to forget what you actually look like.

I’ve been working on finding that version of myself again. Not the one from before — I don’t want to go back. A new one. One that has 18 years of knowledge and still chooses the striped skirt because it makes her happy.

And today, looking at these photos, I can say something I haven’t always been able to say:

I’m good. I’m really good.

That’s authenticity with strategy. Not hiding behind what’s safe. Not performing what’s trending. Knowing who you are, knowing what you’re building, and letting both things be true in the same frame.

A Question Worth Sitting With

I’ve started asking myself this before I post anything: Is this true, or is this performing true?

Because there’s a version of authenticity that’s become its own aesthetic — the relatable fumble, the vulnerable confession, the “I’m just figuring it out” energy that a lot of very calculated people have learned to replicate extremely well.

Real authenticity doesn’t trend. It accumulates. It builds something over time that can’t be copied because it’s actually grounded in a specific person with a specific point of view.

That’s what I’m trying to build. Not a brand that looks real. An actual record of where I am, what I think, and how I’m evolving — shaped with enough intention that it actually communicates, not just expresses.

The expression without the intention is a diary.

The intention without the expression is marketing.

What we’re after is something in between. And finding that line — and holding it — is the real work.

I’ve spent years working in fashion, styling, and image consulting. Red carpets, editorial shoots, executive wardrobes, celebrity appearances. I’ve built my entire career on one core belief: image is never neutral. It’s always communicating something — whether you planned it or not.

But something has been shifting. Not in the industry. In me.

I started paying attention to what was actually working in my own content. Not just what looked good, but what landed. What made people stop scrolling. What made them save a post, send it to a friend, come back to my page, or slide into my DMs asking how I do what I do.

And the pattern I kept seeing wasn’t about trends. It wasn’t about production value or posting frequency or the right hashtags.

It was about something I hadn’t had a name for yet.

Your Image Doesn’t Live in a Ballroom Anymore

For most of my career, image work happened in controlled environments. A fitting room. A set. A green room before a TV appearance. Places where we had time, intention, and context.

That’s not where image lives now.

Now your image lives in a Reel you shot in your kitchen. In a TikTok you recorded in the car. In a profile photo you updated six months ago. In a story where the lighting was bad and you posted it anyway because the content was good.

And here’s what I’ve had to confront in my own work: the content being good isn’t enough. What you’re wearing, how you’re framed, what your colors are doing, whether your visual presence matches the authority you’re trying to claim — all of that is happening simultaneously, whether you’re thinking about it or not.

I had to learn this about myself first before I could articulate it to anyone else.

The Moment I Started Seeing It Differently

There was a period where I looked back at my own content and felt a disconnect I couldn’t immediately name. The ideas were solid. The delivery was there. But something visually wasn’t holding.

I realized I was still showing up as an older version of myself. Not older as in age — older as in chapter. The image I was projecting on camera was referencing a Diva I had already moved past. And my audience could feel that friction even if they couldn’t name it either.

So I started treating my own social presence as a case study. What was my color palette communicating? What was the visual coherence — or lack of it — across my feed telling people before they ever read a caption? Was the way I was showing up on camera matching the level of authority I was trying to build?

That process of looking at myself honestly — analytically, without ego — is what started shaping everything I now call the Architecture of Influence.

What I Mean by Architecture of Influence

Influence isn’t just reach. We all know that, even if the algorithm sometimes convinces us otherwise.

Real influence is being perceived a specific way, consistently, over time. It’s being trusted before you’ve proven yourself. It’s being remembered in a crowded feed. It’s having people understand what you stand for without you having to explain it every time.

That doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built — through what you say, how you say it, what you wear, how you move on camera, what your colors are doing, how your energy reads through a screen, and whether your visual presence supports or contradicts everything else you’re trying to communicate.

The Architecture of Influence is the structure underneath all of that. It’s what I’ve been quietly building and refining through my own content for years, before I had language for it.

And the piece I keep coming back to — the one that is most underestimated and most immediately impactful — is what I’m starting to call Digital Styling.

Digital Styling Is Not What You Think

This isn’t traditional image consulting.

It’s not about whether you’re a warm autumn or a cool winter. It’s not about body proportions or whether you should wear more blazers. That knowledge has its place, but it’s not what I’m talking about.

Digital Styling is the practice of understanding what your image communicates on screen, specifically, and using that understanding with intention.

It’s asking: When I appear in a video, what is the first thing my audience is absorbing before I say a word? Does my visual presence match the credibility I’m claiming? Does what I’m wearing make sense next to the price I’m charging, the audience I want to attract, the brand I’m trying to build?

Because clothing on camera isn’t just clothing. It’s information. It’s positioning. It’s one more signal your audience is reading, consciously or not, in the first two seconds before they decide to stay or scroll.

I’ve been thinking about this — and living it, and testing it on myself — for long enough now that I think I finally have something worth sharing.

What I’ve Learned From My Own Feed

The clearest evidence I have isn’t theory. It’s my own content history.

I can look back at specific periods in my TikTok and Instagram and see exactly where my image was working with my message — and where it was working against it. Where I looked like someone in the process of becoming something, versus where I looked like someone who had already arrived.

The visual coherence isn’t just aesthetics. It’s authority. And authority, in digital spaces, is built or broken in seconds.

What I’ve built — slowly, imperfectly, with a lot of self-editing along the way — is a visual language that holds. A presence that reads consistently whether I’m doing a talking head video in my office or a quick behind-the-scenes story. A style that communicates what I do and who I’m for before anyone clicks on my bio.

That’s not luck. That’s architecture.

And it’s something I’ve realized I want to talk about more — because I don’t see enough people in the image or styling space addressing it honestly, at this level, with this kind of specificity.

So this is the beginning of that conversation.

There are places you visit, and then there are places you decode. Cannes is definitely the latter. I just stepped off the plane back to Los Angeles after an incredibly intense run styling Roselyn Sánchez for the Cannes Film Festival, and I am still processing the sheer speed at which the world’s eye moves when you’re up there.

They say fashion is fleeting, but you don’t truly understand the weight of that phrase until you watch your client stop time for exactly sixty seconds in front of a wall of international photographers. It’s curious how a single minute on a red carpet like Cannes can completely reconfigure your entire perspective on how the entertainment industry operates today.

The Lobby Ecosystem: Actors, Influencers, and the New Meaning of ‘Artist’

The moment you step into the Hôtel Martinez, the atmosphere hits you with an undeniable reality: the chessboard has changed. The hallways and lobbies were a buzzing hive of content creators, trendsetters, and digital natives. For sponsoring brands and major luxury houses, influencers are no longer secondary guests—they are the absolute epicenter of global relevance strategy.

We are living in a fascinating, strange matrix. On one side, you have the weight, legacy, and mysticism of the traditional actor or classic artist; on the other, the digital traction, immediacy, and hyper-connectivity of the influencer. Cannes has become the bridge where these two worlds collide, forcing us to redefine what it actually means to be a public figure. The line between traditional artistry and the digital currency of attention is thinner than ever.

When You Understand the Game, You Choose to Give a Show: The Three-Look Strategy

In the middle of that cultural and media clash, we saw the vision clearly from day one. When you understand the rules of this new ecosystem, you stop being a mere spectator and choose to become the content. We decided we weren’t there to blend into the background: we came to give a show.

A static strategy just wouldn’t cut it. In a festival dominated by instant visual gratification, versatility was our ultimate currency. That’s why we leaned into risk, visual narrative, and dynamism, executing three monumental wardrobe changes, each with a completely distinct identity and textile architecture:

1. Riviera Sophistication: We kicked things off by building an impeccable silhouette with a breathtaking emerald green gown by Eman Alajlan, paired perfectly with the majestic weight of Alok Lodha Jewels. It was a look that demanded attention through its sheer structural purity and classic sophistication.

2. The Afternoon Light: For the official L’Oréal Paris sessions on the balconies overlooking La Croisette, we bet on volume and ethereal opulence with a flawless white gown by Nicole Felicia Couture. Capturing the natural Cannes light against that specific texture was pure visual poetry.

   

3. Closing Drama: For the festival’s climax—the Closing Ceremony—we needed raw dramatic power. The answer was a commanding, deep purple gown by Reagen Varross. The weight and movement of that fabric gliding through the Martinez’s blue corridors toward the iconic steps, magnetically styled with Tacori jewelry and Casadei heels, was the ultimate finale.

   

Each look wasn’t just a dress; it was a thesis statement, a tactical shift in the conversation, and naturally, an engine for flawless organic content. If the whole world is watching, you might as well give them something they can’t look away from.

Backstage Synergy: Creating with the Greats

Executing that kind of non-stop metamorphosis amidst the chaos of a major festival is impossible unless you are backed by a team operating on the exact same aesthetic frequency. Sharing this experience—the adrenaline of the final suite touch-ups and the backstage rush—with industry titans like Allan Avendaño on makeup and Dimitri Giannetos on hair styling was easily one of the most rewarding parts of the trip.

Watching the milimetric precision of their craft reminds you exactly why they are at the top of their game. There is a profound mutual respect when professionals of that caliber align to sculpt a single image: Allan capturing the Riviera light perfectly on Roselyn’s skin, Dimitri giving the hair that timeless, wind-resistant coastal sophistication, and me balancing the drape, proportions, and lines of the silhouette. It’s the art of collaboration in its highest form.

Lessons from the Riviera

I’m returning to LA with suitcases full of couture to ship back, but a completely expanded mind. I leave France with the absolute certainty that fashion is no longer just about the perfect garment; it’s about the speed and impact of the narrative. High fashion and digital lifestyle are no longer separate lanes—they need each other to survive the current ecosystem.

Sometimes, you need to cross the Atlantic and stand on one of the most iconic red carpets on the planet to remember that our job, at its core, is the architecture of illusions. And this year, inside the rooms of the Martinez, we built something the festival won’t easily forget.

As someone born in Baja California, returning for Fashion Week while now living in the United States, I had a very specific perspective:
one part Mexican, one part immigrant, one part fashion professional.

And after several days surrounded by luxury hotels, beaches, nightlife, fashion events, and primarily American tourism, one thing became very clear:

Americans abroad approach style very differently than Latinos do.

The American Vacation Uniform

When many Americans travel—especially to beach destinations—their style often prioritizes: Comfort, Convenience, Minimal effort, Practicality

Common examples:

• Flip-flops everywhere

• Athleticwear beyond the gym

• Oversized T-shirts

• Baseball caps

• Functional over flattering

What I think?

There is confidence in their lack of overthinking and they dress for enjoyment, not constant social performance. But sometimes, image becomes so secondary that elegance disappears completely.

The Latino Relationship With Image

In contrast, Mexican and Latin cultures often treat appearance differently. For us, style is frequently connected to: Self-respect, Attractiveness, Social awareness, Presentation, Status.

Even in casual settings, there is often more visible effort. It’s that clear?

Common priorities:

• Coordinated outfits

• Grooming

• Body-conscious silhouettes

• Accessories

• “Looking put together”

What I think?

Definitely, a strong visual identity and a big presence are built through intentionality.

But as a Latina, I can tell you: at times, it also comes with excessive pressure.

Growing up in Latin America, you learn to live with too much emphasis on appearance, and sometimes you end up dressing for perception instead of personal comfort.

With this say, I prove that I can see the pros and cons in both cultures.

Americans understand comfort in a way many Latinos still need to learn. Latinos understand presence in a way many Americans sometimes forget.

But, being brutally honest, for me, image will always be communication. So no, I don’t think you need to suffer for a vacation outfit.

But I do think you can look comfortable without completely abandoning your image.

This is what I would recommend to anyone who wants to look relaxed on vacation without spending hours getting ready:

Beach style rule:
You don’t need to look overdressed, but you do need to look intentional.

1. Choose a swimsuit with structure
A good fit, supportive fabric, and a flattering neckline will always look more expensive.

2. Add a real cover-up
Linen shirt, sarong, kaftan, or matching set. Not an old T-shirt.

3. Keep the color palette clean
White, black, beige, brown, navy, olive, or one strong color.

4. Use accessories as styling tools
Sunglasses, gold jewelry, a raffia bag, and simple sandals can elevate everything.

5. Don’t fight the beach hair
Go for a slick bun, wet look, scarf, or natural waves.

In the end, beach style is not about looking perfect or overproduced. It’s about proving that comfort and presence can exist in the same look. You can be relaxed, barefoot, sun-kissed, and still look intentional. Because even on vacation, your image is still communicating.

So before your next trip, don’t just pack clothes. Pack a version of yourself that feels relaxed, confident, and still very much in style.

Not because I had become arrogant or distant, and not because I thought I was above anyone. I stepped back because living in the United States changes the way you move through the world, and that is harder to explain than people think.

It is not just about speaking English. It is about learning a whole different social language. The humor is different. The way people connect is different. The way opportunities happen is different. Even the way you present yourself has to shift. After a while, you realize you are not just translating words. You are translating your personality, your experience, your instincts, your value. It is tiring.

For some time, I chose to focus on building a life in the U.S. I wanted to understand the market, meet people, make connections, and create new opportunities for myself. What I did not expect was how disorienting it would feel to realize that in this country, I am still largely unknown.

People here do not know my work. They do not know my background, my eye, or the years of experience behind what I do. And even though the U.S. likes to present itself as a place full of possibility, I have often found myself questioning how accessible that possibility really is, especially in fashion, creativity, and entertainment.

A lot of doors have been harder to open than I imagined. Agencies, brands, collaborations, work opportunities. The deeper I get into this country, the more complex professional growth has become. That has been one of the hardest parts of this chapter, especially because nobody really talks about it. People love talking about expansion, success, and reinvention, but very few talk honestly about what it feels like to start over in a place where your name means nothing.

What has also been painful, if I am honest, is that some of the resistance I have felt has come from other Mexicans in fashion. I am not interested in naming anyone, but it has made me reflect a lot on how difficult our own communities can sometimes be with each other. At the same time, I have had more openness and generosity from the Anglo side in certain moments, which has also surprised me.

After five years in the United States, I still feel like I am building from a place of invisibility. That is the truth.

That is why these days in Guadalajara and Mexico City felt much more emotional than I expected.

I was invited to Fashion Week Mexico in Guadalajara, and I was also there working as a stylist with my clients. So this was not just a social trip or a sentimental return. I was back inside the fashion conversation in a real and professional way, while also reconnecting with people and spaces I had intentionally kept some distance from.

I also attended Espacio Vogue, the event organized by Vogue Latin America in Mexico. It is a traveling fashion market that brings together brands, entrepreneurs, and the magazine in a way that feels culturally specific to Mexico’s creative scene. I will write more about that in another post, because it deserves more attention on its own.

What stayed with me most, though, was not the schedule or the events. It was the feeling of being around people who genuinely value what I do.

Not just people who recognize me, but people who understand my work, who respect it, and who have followed it with real attention. That meant a lot to me, especially at a moment when so much of my energy has gone into trying to build something bigger in a place where I still have to explain who I am.

Coming back reminded me that my work has weight. That it has landed somewhere. That there are people who see not only what I do, but also who I am becoming.

At this stage of my life, that matters more than it used to.

Maybe I am not fully recognized in the United States yet. But I no longer see that as proof that I am not valuable. I see it for what it is: a chapter that is still unfolding.

This trip reminded me that being unseen in one place does not erase what you have built in another. It also reminded me that sometimes you need to return to familiar ground, not to stay there, but to remember that your work is real, your voice matters, and your path did not suddenly lose meaning just because a new market has not caught up to you yet.

I’ve seen tutorials for everything in this life. How to do your makeup, how to get dressed, how to apply anti-aging cream. But I’ve never come across one that teaches you how to evolve. And that’s what no one tells you.

That one day you wake up… and everything has changed. Your body. Your environment. Your energy. Even your style.

Hi, I’m Diva. A Mexican stylist with 18 years in the fashion industry, helping other women build their image. And I never thought it would happen to me. But it does. That moment comes where you’re no longer who you were… and you don’t quite know who you are now.

And then they tell you to accept it. That it’s normal. That it’s just age. But no one tells you how. No one tells you how hard it is to change, how uncomfortable it is to feel like you’ve lost something… even if you can’t fully name it.

From a different place. More honest. More uncomfortable. More yours.

That’s why this space is now called Still in Style. Because even when everything changes, even when you feel lost, even when you’re in the middle of rebuilding yourself… you are still you.

You still have style. You still have identity. You still have something to say. Not from perfection, but from process. This is no longer just about how you look. It’s about how you exist within yourself.

And I’m no longer writing from the expert. I’m writing from the woman who is living this. The one who felt overwhelmed. The one who thought something was wrong. The one who wondered if this was it.

It’s not.

This is just the beginning of chapter two.

Because no, watching a runway show on TikTok does not make you a fashion analyst or someone who works in the industry. That’s an uncomfortable truth, but a necessary one.

The problem isn’t that people don’t know. The problem is that they think they do.

After 18 years working in fashion—as a stylist and communication advisor for fashion brands—I encounter the same situation every season: clients who arrive completely confused. People who have consumed so many “trend videos” that they no longer know what they like, what they need, or what actually works for their lives. They’ve gotten lost between too many clothes and, even worse, too much information.

This isn’t a style problem. It’s a noise problem.

And now that we are once again in the middle of fashion week season, the phenomenon intensifies. Hundreds of videos appear explaining “the trends of the season”: GRWM videos attempting to recreate runway looks, one-minute analyses of entire collections, and endless lists of what is “in” and what is “out.” Women dressing up as trends, attempting to recreate something they don’t actually understand. The last thing these videos generate is inspiration.

That’s why I decided to start this series of writings where, week after week, I will teach you how to read trends so you can apply them to your own reality—rather than ending up looking like someone dressed for a London winter stuck on a Mexican beach.

Lesson No. 1
Macro trends vs trends

A macro trend is not a pair of pants, a color, or a viral shoe. It is a cultural shift—a broader aesthetic direction that reflects how we are living, thinking, and consuming. It is the context that explains why certain things start appearing in fashion.

A trend, on the other hand, is simply the visible manifestation of that shift: the garment, the styling, the silhouette, or the detail that begins to repeat across collections and stores.

But that kind of explanation doesn’t fit into a thirty-second reel. So everything ends up reduced to phrases like: “this is in,” “this is over,” or “this is back.”

If we simplify it with an example, the macro trend might be the nostalgia for the early 2000s. The trend, in turn, could be the return of Levi’s 501 jeans or low-rise denim. The point is that a macro trend can materialize in countless garments—pants, tops, jackets, accessories, or even ways of styling clothing. That’s why following trends without understanding their origin becomes an endless cycle.

To avoid falling into that loop of constant consumption, I developed a framework that helps interpret trends in a much more useful way. I call it the Code Formula.

Instead of obsessing over a specific garment, this method proposes observing visual patterns that repeat across collections. Those patterns are what I call codes. Codes reveal the emotional or aesthetic narrative dominating a particular moment in fashion. Once you identify them, you can reinterpret them through pieces that actually make sense for your life.

These codes can be read across four main dimensions: texture, silhouette, composition, and narrative. Texture speaks to sensation—shine, softness, rigidity, transparency. Silhouette defines the structure of the body—oversized, fitted, elongated, or sculpted. Composition refers to how the look is constructed—minimal, layered, mixed, or clean. And narrative is the message the look communicates—power, femininity, rebellion, elegance, romanticism.

When you begin to understand these codes, you stop chasing individual pieces and start recognizing what is actually shifting in fashion.

A recent runway example from 2026 illustrates this clearly. In several collections—such as Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana—there was a recurring use of black lace, transparency, and silhouettes that reveal the body. At Saint Laurent, for instance, lace dresses appeared styled with structured tailoring, creating a striking contrast between sensuality and power.

A superficial analysis might conclude that “the trend is the black lace dress.” But that is only the surface.

The macro trend behind these collections points to a darker, more introspective and sensual expression of femininity—what many analysts are describing as a form of dark romanticism. The lace dress is simply one of the ways that macro trend materializes.

If we analyze these collections through the lens of codes, we find clear patterns: transparency and lace as texture, elongated and body-skimming silhouettes, contrasts between delicate materials and sharp tailoring, and a narrative of mature, sophisticated sensuality.

When you understand these codes, you stop thinking that the trend is buying a lace dress. What you are actually seeing is an aesthetic language that can be interpreted in many different ways: a sheer blouse, a skirt with subtle transparency, or layers of organza over structured garments.

And that is where taste—and judgment—begin to matter. Because when you understand the code, you can adapt it to your own reality. But when you simply copy the garment, you’re just dressing up as a trend.

And it shows.

Fashion has never been about memorizing garments. It has always been about reading context. Trends are not a shopping list; they are signals of cultural change that each person must interpret according to their own life.

That is why true style is not about knowing what is “in.” It is about understanding why it is happening—and deciding whether it actually belongs in your life.

The Lunar New Year begins on February 17, 2026, welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse — a sign associated with movement, independence, passion, and bold decisions.

I learned this recently, and I have to admit, the timing made me smile.

Because on February 18, I turn 42.

There’s something poetic about entering a year ruled by fire, momentum, and courage exactly as I step into a new personal cycle. Almost as if the calendar and I quietly agreed to begin again at the same time.

But what really caught my attention was not only the symbolism of the Fire Horse. It was the color.

Red.

Why Red Matters in the Lunar New Year

In many East Asian cultures, red is not just festive decoration. It represents protection, vitality, prosperity, and good fortune. It is believed to ward off negative energy and to invite abundance into the new cycle.

That alone is beautiful.

But from a visual language perspective — from the point of view of someone who studies fashion as communication — red has always carried another meaning: presence.

Red is the color people notice without knowing why.
You walk into a room and something shifts slightly — heads turn, attention adjusts, the air changes just a little.

And here is where the story becomes personal.

The Year My Color Came Back

For the last two years, I lived in neutrals. Black, beige, ivory, denim, gray.
Elegant, yes. Timeless, yes. But also… quiet.

And then something shifted.

At the beginning of this year — without planning it — I felt an impulse to wear color again. Stronger color. Brighter color. Emotional color. It felt almost physical, like something waking up after a long sleep.

If I had to describe it playfully, I would say my color chakra unlocked.

So when I started reading about the Lunar New Year and the symbolism of red, I couldn’t help laughing. The information came to me at exactly the right moment.

In Spanish we say, “me cayó de perlas.” that literally, it means “it fell to me like pearls.”

It’s a very Latin expression used when something arrives at the perfect time, in the perfect way — when a piece of information, an opportunity, or a coincidence fits so naturally into your life that it feels almost meant to be.

That’s exactly how this felt.

Red as Energy, Not Costume

There is something important to understand about wearing red.

It isn’t about dressing theatrically or trying too hard. Red works best when it feels intentional and grounded: A structured blazer o a silk scarf. You can also, try it in a a strong lip color or in a dress that moves when you walk.

Red doesn’t need noise around it. It already speaks fluently.

And perhaps that is why it resonates so much with the Fire Horse — a symbol of motion, instinct, and personal freedom. Not chaos, but direction. Not volume, but force.

Turning 42 in the Year of Fire

Birthdays tend to make us reflective, but this one feels different. Not because of a number, but because of a sensation: movement returning.

There was a time when I believed reinvention was something dramatic, something loud, something that required a grand announcement.

Now I think reinvention often begins quietly. With a color you suddenly feel ready to wear again or with a decision that no one else notices.

And so this year, I welcome red, fire and movement. All at the same time. And of course, I welcome 42 with curiosity rather than fear.

Because if there’s one thing the Fire Horse reminds us, it’s this: Life doesn’t ask us to stay the same. It asks us to keep moving.

Some people dress as a form of protest. Others dress to become the center of attention or simply dress for social media.

But there is something undeniable: what we wear always communicates. It speaks about where we are in life.

Clothing, in many ways, reflects our processes. Our moments of expansion… and also our moments of struggle.

When someone is going through a difficult time, it often shows. Not necessarily because they lack access to brands or resources, but because the combinations lose coherence. Everything starts to feel forced, almost like a costume. As if something is being hidden underneath.

And that is natural. No one likes to be seen feeling lost, tired, or vulnerable.

In those moments, clothing often becomes noise: Too many layers, messages at once and too much urgency to prove something.

Not because the person has no sense of style… but because they are still searching for their place.

The case of Bad Bunny: when clothing stops shouting

We can see this very clearly in the evolution of Bad Bunny.

In his early years, his style was intense, maximalist, and full of visual stimuli. Patterned suits, bold colors, heavy accessories, visible logos, and layered textures competing for attention. Some looks combined metallic fabrics, printed shirts, colored sunglasses, and multiple jewelry pieces at once, creating outfits that critics sometimes described as chaotic or overdone.

It was a stage of experimentation. And this is important to understand: when someone is building themselves, it is common to want to say many things at once. Clothing becomes an urgent language. Sometimes exaggerated. Sometimes loud.

But over time, something began to shift.

His image became more precise, more symbolic and more intentional. He started appearing in monochromatic looks, cleaner silhouettes, and styling choices where meaning mattered more than immediate impact.

In performances and public appearances, the clothing no longer competed for attention—it supported the narrative. Pieces began to carry references, personal symbolism, and cultural context. The styling became quieter, but stronger.

And that is the key point.

The clothes were no longer shouting to be noticed…The clothes were telling a story.

When there is internal clarity, there is visual clarity

When a person becomes more secure in who they are, clothing stops trying to prove everything.You begin to select and edit.

Visual power often comes not from adding more, but from knowing what to remove.

And this has little to do with money, brands, or access. It has to do with internal clarity.

Because when someone begins to feel centered, their aesthetic begins to find its center as well.

Clothing remains a form of expression, but it stops being armor. You are no longer dressing to convince or to hide.

You dress because you know who you are…
and that, inevitably, shows.

Today I feel something has shifted in me in a way that is quiet, but irreversible.

For many years, I was known as a stylist. Then as a creator. Then as an influencer. These labels were not wrong — they were simply chapters. Chapters that taught me discipline, taste, resilience, and the ability to see what others don’t see. But somewhere along the way, I realized that I had outgrown the story people expected me to keep telling.

There was a time when I truly enjoyed creating content around events, fashion weeks, brand trips, and beautiful dinners. I won’t deny that it was exciting. It was a world of lights, music, and constant validation. And like many others, I believed that becoming an “icon” was the natural destination of that path.

But time has a way of clarifying things. And clarity can be uncomfortable.

I began to feel a quiet fatigue. Not from the work itself, but from the meaning behind it. I realized I was no longer interested in producing content that feels like a commercial disguised as a life. I lost patience for environments where ego speaks louder than ideas, where protagonism is confused with talent, and where narratives about “building an industry” are often more fiction than reality.

I don’t say this with bitterness. I say it with lucidity.

There is a difference between creating culture and performing relevance. And once you see that difference, it becomes very difficult to unsee it.

So today, I am allowing something to end.

The influencer that one day was created in Mexico — the version of me that felt she had to be seen, liked, validated, and constantly present — she has served her purpose. I am grateful to her. She opened doors. She taught me courage. She carried me through rooms I never thought I would enter.

But she is not who I am becoming.

What is emerging now is something quieter, but much stronger: the entrepreneur, the strategist, the designer of image and communication, the woman interested not only in how a person looks, but in what they represent, how they speak, how they position themselves in the world, and how they build something that lasts beyond attention.

I am no longer interested in chasing visibility. I am interested in building value.

And perhaps most importantly, I am interested in telling the truth about what reinvention actually looks like.

Because building a better life — in a new country, in a new language, in a new stage of life — is not aesthetic. It is not a highlight reel. It is messy, slow, uncertain, and at times deeply lonely. But it is also honest, and there is a quiet dignity in that honesty.

This is the chapter I want to document now. Not the perfect life. The real one.

The decisions, the doubts and the small victories that no one applauds but that change everything.

If that’s the case, I hope you know this: not all endings are losses. Some are simply doors that finally open from the inside.

And sometimes, becoming who you really are requires letting go of who everyone else thought you should be.

Working as a stylist has taught me that fashion is not the glamour people see, but the resistance no one talks about: holding onto ideas when no one has patience, fighting for concepts others don’t fully understand, and learning to navigate egos, silences, and decisions that are not always fair.

The first time I agreed to collaborate, I did it because I wanted to get my name out there. I thought it would be a one-time thing, something small and temporary. But that “just once” turned into much longer than I expected, working under the same terms. The workload increased. The pressure increased. The responsibility increased. But the same level of awareness or respect for what I was contributing never really existed on the client’s side.

And that’s when I understood something important: when creativity and judgment are not valued from the beginning, habit eventually replaces respect.

I also learned that talent is not always what carries the most weight. Character does. Clarity does. The ability to not betray yourself just to fit in does. I learned that the industry can easily become superficial if no one pushes it to be deeper, and that the real value of a stylist is not in the clothes they move, but in the judgment they build and the eye they sharpen over time.

And above all, I learned that this work is not for people who seek approval. It’s for people willing to see further, hold their vision, and continue creating even when no one else fully understands what they are seeing yet.

Something else I had to understand—almost the hard way—is that collaboration, when there are no clear boundaries, stops being an exchange and becomes a habit.

Here is what that can mean:

When we accept conditions where creativity is not paid for, where only execution or access is compensated, the industry learns quickly. It begins to treat creative vision as an extra, not the core of the work. And that lowers the value for everyone.

When we accept constant urgency, we normalize speed over quality. Fashion today moves at the pace of campaigns in days, editorials in hours, and content every day. Without questioning that rhythm, we help turn producing fast into the standard instead of producing well. Over time, visual language becomes poorer. Aesthetic becomes formula. And formula eventually kills culture.

When weak conditions, symbolic budgets, or minimal credit become acceptable, the culture of replacement grows stronger. The silent message becomes: it doesn’t matter who does it, someone will. And when talent becomes interchangeable, the industry loses depth.

When styling is reduced to simply putting looks together instead of building narrative, identity, or concept, fashion becomes superficial. People forget that a stylist is an editor, a visual psychologist, a storyteller, and a strategist. And when that is forgotten, fashion loses its discourse.

And perhaps the hardest part: exhaustion changes the work. A tired creative stops proposing and starts solving. Stops researching and starts repeating. And when many creatives reach that point, the industry becomes predictable—not because talent is missing, but because vital energy is.

With all this, my intention is not to demonize collaboration. Collaboration has opened doors for me, taught me, and allowed me to grow. But I do believe it’s necessary to talk about it honestly, because not all collaborations are equal, and not all of them happen at the right moment or under the right conditions.

Understanding how, when, and where to collaborate is part of maturing in this industry. It means learning to recognize the value of your own work, to set boundaries, and to choose consciously—not from urgency, and not from the need for approval.

That’s why I wanted to write this. Not to discourage anyone, but to raise awareness. Because when a creative understands their value, they don’t just protect themselves—they raise the standard for everyone.

I didn’t start my year in January.
I started it in February 2026.

January was a suspended month. And although officially I was recovering from a facelift, in reality I was also recovering from something harder to name: accumulated creative fatigue, mental saturation, and a persistent feeling of producing without fully deciding. I gave myself permission to stop—not only physically, but narratively. To stop explaining, stop announcing, stop justifying. Thinking without an audience is a luxury almost no one in the creative economy allows themselves, and yet that’s where real decisions are actually made.

During that month I built nothing outwardly, but I dismantled many things internally. I reviewed projects, structures, identities. I asked myself how many things I was still holding onto not out of conviction, but out of habit. How many decisions had been made to avoid disappointing, to avoid breaking continuity, to avoid accepting that I was no longer the same person I was when I created them. Sometimes it’s not the business that becomes too small. It’s the identity that no longer fits inside the mold you built for yourself years ago.

In 2020, I launched Mascooltura.mx as an online education project at a time when doing so was still more intuition than trend. At that moment, in much of Latin America, Zoom was not culturally validated. Education was still associated with physical presence, with the classroom, with the ritual of “going to learn.” The screen was seen as provisional, informal, less serious. Mascooltura was born as a bridge between two worlds: between what was no longer and what had not yet fully legitimized itself. It was an experiment, a bet, an early reading of where learning was headed.

Then the world changed abruptly. The pandemic didn’t just normalize digital education—it turned it into a system. And with that shift, something that began as democratization of access evolved into something more complex: an inflation of education. The market filled with courses, certifications, mentorships, challenges, bootcamps, programs, methods, frameworks, promises of fast transformation. Education stopped being only about learning and also began functioning as anesthesia. In my country, cursitis became a pandemic longer than the virus itself.

I was part of that ecosystem. I combined my creative work with education. I designed programs, accompanied processes, saw real results. I don’t reject that. But I also began to notice something that repeated itself too often to ignore: people with extremely high levels of information, with full mental libraries, with access to resources that were once unthinkable—yet paralyzed when it came time to decide. People who knew a lot, but did little. Who accumulated knowledge but postponed action. Who said they were preparing, when in reality they were avoiding exposure.

In 2025, I made the decision to close Mascooltura. It wasn’t a collapse—it was a conscious closing. I understood that the project had fulfilled its cycle and that continuing to sustain it no longer represented who I am today nor how I want to intervene in creative processes. Closing was a way of saying that growth can also happen by ending things. That not every project is designed to be eternal. That some structures fulfill their function and then become an elegant way of not moving.

In 2026, I decided to look at the phenomenon of cursitis without romanticizing it. I stopped seeing it only as hunger for learning and began reading it as a new form of imposter syndrome. Before, the imposter said, “I’m not enough.” Today, it says, “I need one more course.” The language changed, but the root is the same: a deep distrust in one’s own ability to execute without more external validation.

Learning became an identity. Being in constant training became a socially acceptable way of not taking risks. Preparing became a comfortable place from which to watch the game without stepping onto the field. Because execution implies something no course can eliminate: the real possibility of failing, of being wrong in public, of discovering that not everything goes well, of no longer hiding behind the status of being a student.

Many times, it’s not a lack of knowledge. It’s fear. Fear of losing the excuse. Fear that if we’re no longer “learning,” we’ll have to accept that we’re ready to try. Fear of occupying space without the symbolic backing of another certification. Fear of discovering that the gap was not technical, but emotional.

That’s why I stopped thinking of my courses as content accumulation and started thinking of them as movement structures. I’m not interested in producing more information. I’m interested in designing processes that force decisions, execution, getting out of the comfortable place of the eternal student. People who don’t need more theory, but structure, containment, friction, real accompaniment. People who are not blocked by lack of talent, but by a distorted relationship with error and risk.

Learning without action is not growth. It’s a sophisticated form of stagnation. It’s an illusion of progress. It’s movement without displacement. It’s the modern version of saying “not yet” in increasingly elaborate ways.

February 2026 is not just a calendar change for me. It’s a change in logic. Less accumulation and more integration. Less external permission and more internal responsibility. Less eternal preparation and more real life. I didn’t start this year with resolutions—I started it with a stance: not everything that is learned is transformed, but everything that is executed is.

I’m no longer interested in forming eternal students. I’m interested in accompanying people who are willing to stop hiding behind learning and become practitioners. Because the world doesn’t need more prepared people. It needs more people who dare to show up, make imperfect decisions, and accept that real learning begins when you stop studying and start doing.

Starting the year on autopilot is a bad idea. Not because having goals or plans is wrong, but because we rarely stop to examine the place from which we are creating them. We assume we are the same person we were a year ago, that we want the same things, that we are driven by the same desires, that we are defined by the same priorities. And that is not always true.

We live inside a visual, public, narrative system now. Everything communicates: how you dress, how you show up, how you move, how you speak, what you reveal and what you hide. Not as a performance, but as a constant translation of who you are — or who you are trying to remain.

Clothing is no longer just clothing. It is posture. It is language. It is identity in motion.

That is why before deciding what you are going to do this year, it is worth asking who you are now. Not who you were. Not who you think you should be. But who you are after what you have lived, what you have understood, what you have let go of, what has shifted.

Continuing to present a version of yourself that no longer represents you is not consistency. It is resistance.

Change is not instability. It is an update. Rebranding yourself is not starting over. It is acknowledging that you are no longer the same. That your body is not the same. That your desires are not the same. That your way of being in the world is not the same. And that is not a system failure. That is the system working.

Maybe this year is not about doing more. Maybe it is about making sense.

About aligning what is internal with what is external. About stepping out of autopilot. About taking responsibility for the narrative you are building every day with your presence, your image, and your decisions.

That is what personal rebranding actually is. Not aesthetics. Judgment.

And judgment, today, is a form of elegance.

Fifteen days of a forced pause.

Fifteen days without rushing, without producing, without being “on.”

And even though I started documenting this process on social media as something physical — swelling, stitches, progress — what has really been moving is something much deeper.

Fear.

Not fear of aging itself.

But fear of how we feel about aging.

And, more than that, fear of admitting that we are afraid.

We live in a deeply contradictory time.

On one hand, it’s 2025: we have science, technology, treatments, procedures, information, and tools to look, feel, and care for ourselves better than ever.

On the other, there is a strong moral pressure about how we are supposed to age.

We hear things like:

“You should age with dignity.”

“What matters is accepting yourself as you are.”

“Wrinkles are beautiful.”

“The body changes. It’s natural.”

And yes, all of that can be true.

But this is also true: no one enjoys feeling invisible, misaligned, or disconnected from how they feel inside.

Denying that doesn’t make us more evolved. It only makes us more disconnected.

What is really frowned upon is not aging.

It’s not resigning yourself to it.

It’s wanting to keep feeling like yourself.

It’s wanting to look the way you feel.

It’s wanting to intervene in the body so it can reflect your identity — not so you can escape it.

That’s when shame appears.

Guilt.

The need to explain yourself.

“It’s not vanity, it’s wellness.”

“It’s not superficiality, it’s health.”

“It’s not fear, it’s self-love.”

And maybe it is all of that… but it’s also fear.

And that’s okay.

Because fear is not weakness.

Fear is information.

Fear of disappearing.

Fear of no longer being seen.

Fear that your reflection will stop feeling like you.

Fear of losing agency over your own narrative.

And the problem is not feeling it.

The problem is repressing it.

Because repressing it hardens us.

It makes us rigid.

More judgmental. More cynical.

It ages us emotionally far more than any line on our face ever could.

Social media, ironically, connects us to thousands of people… and disconnects us from ourselves.

From what we actually want.

From what actually hurts.

From what actually matters.

We care more about appearing correct than about being honest.

And in this forced pause I understood something very simple and very brutal:

It’s not age that makes us old.

It’s the thoughts we never say.

The desires we suppress.

The decisions we don’t make because we’re afraid of judgment.

The parts of ourselves we keep shrinking to fit into what is expected of us.

That’s what withers us.

That’s what dims us.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t make you superficial.

Choosing yourself doesn’t make you shallow.

Intervening in your body doesn’t make you less deep.

What makes you old is not time.

It’s living disconnected from your truth.

And today, with a swollen face, stitches in place, and a quiet body, I feel strangely more alive than I have in a long time.

Because I’m listening to myself.

Because I’m not lying to myself.

Because I’m not asking for permission.

And that — that — rejuvenates more than any procedure ever could.

And from here — not from a posture, not from an idea, but from my body and my experience — I want to say something very simple:

Hello. My name is Diva.

And I am that modern woman who has always been judged for breaking the mold. For not living the way I am supposed to.

Yes, I am afraid of aging.

And yes: having this lifting procedure has made me happy.

Because I am in favor of whatever makes me feel more alive.

I am in favor of science.

I am in favor of what is not common.

I am in favor of choosing my body as a conscious territory, not as a sentence.

So, with that said: welcome to my 2026.

I scroll, and nothing speaks to me.
Not the polished “perfect girl” content from the U.S., where I live now.
Not the loud, hyper-opinionated echo chamber from LATAM, where I come from.

Both feel distant in completely opposite ways.

The American creators?
Listen, I respect the work. The production value. The strategy. The entire ecosystem they’ve built around aesthetics and performance.
But the truth is, the more perfect their content gets, the further it drifts from my reality.
The more I watch, the more I feel like I’m being asked to audition for a life I don’t want.

And LATAM…
My beloved LATAM.
The place that raised my sense of humor, my toughness, my taste, my street wisdom.
But every time I open my feed from back home, all I see is noise.
People talking a lot while saying nothing.
Creators turning personal drama into public currency.
Everyone fighting, complaining, exposing, dragging.
It’s entertainment without imagination.
Opinions without thought.
Visibility without intention.

I don’t feel inspired.
I don’t feel represented.
I don’t feel… accompanied.

What used to spark ideas in me now sparks exhaustion.
The people who once inspired me don’t even show up in my feed anymore.
It’s like the algorithm decided to maximize outrage and minimize creativity, and everyone played along.

And here’s the part nobody says out loud:
The content game has become too big, too loud, too demanding.
What used to feel playful now feels like a competition I never signed up for.

It’s surreal… this split identity.
In the U.S., everything looks too far from my lived experience.
In LATAM, everything feels too close to the chaos I worked so hard to outgrow.
I’m floating between two worlds and belonging to none.
And I know I’m not the only one.

So yes—this December, I mentally left Instagram and TikTok.
Not with a dramatic announcement, not with a digital goodbye.
Just… silently.
A soft exit.
A quiet rebellion.

Because I’m tired of being entertained but not moved.
Tired of content that fills time but not the spirit.
Tired of being told what to aspire to by people who don’t even aspire to anything real.

I find myself craving something different.
A slower conversation.
A deeper aesthetic.
A place where elegance still means something and opinions aren’t an Olympic sport.

That’s why I’m here, writing this.
Not to escape the internet, but to reclaim the pockets of it where thinking is still allowed.
Where nuance is still alive.
Where women like us—women with brain, taste, humor, and emotional range—can breathe.

And maybe this is what adulthood in 2025 feels like:
Wanting inspiration without the performance.

Style without the exhaustion.
Ambition without the algorithm.

It sounds glamorous — and yes, it is — but behind the scenes there’s a whole other world no one talks about. The pressure, the control, the unexpected setbacks… and that one moment when what feels like a disaster becomes your biggest win.

One Month Before: The Real Work Begins

A month before the Latin Grammys, my brain was already in red-carpet mode.

Working with Roselyn Sánchez is not a small responsibility. She’s a woman with a long career, discipline, presence, and a deep understanding of what it means to stand under every spotlight. She’s not “just another guest.” She’s a host, a central figure, a visual anchor of the night.

For me, it was my first year styling at the Latin Grammys.

• My love for Latin American fashion

• My respect for craftsmanship

• My belief that a woman on an international stage can wear Mexico with pride — without cliché

This was the look.
The anchor of our entire strategy.
The piece that tied everything together.

Until it didn’t.

Roselyn, Discipline, and Time

Here’s something many people don’t know about Roselyn:

She does not improvise with her image.

She needs time with her looks — to try them, walk in them, breathe in them, understand how they move on her body.
She needs at least two days with each outfit.
It’s how she builds certainty, presence, and emotional grounding.

I admire that.
But it also means my responsibility is ten times bigger:
it’s not just about choosing a dress —

And for weeks, everything revolved around this handcrafted Mexican look.

People think the hardest part of a red carpet is choosing the dress.
It’s not.
Sometimes the hardest part is refreshing a tracking page every hour… and seeing nothing change.

At first, it was a small delay.
Then another.
Then vague explanations.
Then silence.

Meanwhile, the clock was ticking.

The time Roselyn needed to feel secure in a look was disappearing.
And not just any look — this look.
The one that meant so much.
The one we had built the entire narrative around.

And what I felt was simple:
Defeat.

Professional defeat — “What if this ruins everything?”
Personal defeat — “This is the look I believed in.”
Emotional defeat — “What if the story I planned isn’t the story meant to be told?”

And that’s when life stepped in.

I know how to play the red-carpet game.
I know what always works, what guarantees a beautiful silhouette, what blends perfectly with cameras and press.

This blue dress was none of that.
It was a risk.

I was scared of it:

• The fantasy

• The transparency

• The unpredictability

• The fact that it wasn’t the plan

And yes, even though I’m very chill, I’m also controlling and an extreme perfectionist.
I wanted certainty.
That blue dress was anything but.

I tried to avoid it.
I looked for excuses.
I tried to convince myself to wait for the other dress.

But the handcrafted look still hadn’t arrived.
And time isn’t just a deadline — sometimes it’s a message.

The Team That Doesn’t Let You Shrink

This is where the team becomes everything.

That “intense, grumpy, wildly creative” man by my side — the one who knows exactly when I’m trying to hide behind control — told me what I needed to hear:

• Style is a language.

• Playing it safe says nothing new.

• A red carpet is not for blending in — it’s for speaking.

And in that moment, I decided to let go.
Not from ego.
Not from fear.
But from the part of me that remembers why I fell in love with this work in the first place.

I said yes to the blue dress.

The Night Everything Changed

When Roselyn walked out in that blue gown… something shifted.

The dress didn’t just work — it came alive.
