So many people have asked when the Dracula 1897 facsimile would finally become available.

This is it.

The first 100 places are now open for the Dracula by Bram Stoker 1897 Facsimile — Numbered Slipcase Edition.

**Only 100 numbered slipcase editions will be produced this year.

For a long time, the plan was to begin with a much larger edition. Perhaps 1,000 copies. Something ambitious from the start.

But the deeper the work went into paper, printing, binding, restoration, cover materials, packaging, certificates, production costs, and the physical reality of making the book properly, the clearer it became that beginning with 1,000 copies was not the right first step.

So we are starting with 100.

Not because the project became smaller.

Because it became more real.

A first production group of 100 allows me to remain close to the process, control the quality, review the physical dummy carefully, and make sure that the first collectors receive something developed with attention rather than pushed too quickly into mass production.

This matters because the goal has never been to make just another edition of Dracula.

The goal is to return to the 1897 object.

The yellow cloth. The red lettering. The compact Victorian format. The light gray dust jacket. The strange physical identity of the book before more than a century of adaptations, redesigns, films, covers, clichés, and visual myths changed the way the world remembers the Count.

Each numbered edition will include a carefully restored facsimile inspired by the First Edition, First Print published by Archibald Constable & Co. in 1897, an academically reconstructed reproduction of the original light gray dust jacket, a protective collector slipcase, signed certificates, and individual numbering from 1/100 to 100/100.

The price will be USD $150 plus shipping.

The physical dummy is about to enter production. Photographs will be shared as soon as it is ready, before the end of August 2026. Production is scheduled for this year, with delivery expected between Halloween and Christmas 2026.

The Dracula 1897 facsimile is moving forward.

This project has never been static. It has changed, grown, slowed down, opened new paths, closed others, and forced better decisions along the way. That is what happens when a book stops being an idea and starts becoming an object.

For a long time, the plan was to begin with a larger edition. Perhaps 1,000 copies. Something ambitious from the start. Something that could announce, immediately and without hesitation, that the original Dracula was coming back as a serious collector object.

But the deeper the work went into paper, printing, binding, cover materials, production costs, packaging, restoration, and the physical reality of making the book properly, the clearer it became that beginning with 1,000 copies was not the right first step.

So the first opening will be for 100 places.

One hundred copies allow the process to remain close, controlled, and careful. They allow the first group to receive something developed with attention, not something pushed too quickly into mass production before the object has been properly tested, reviewed, corrected, and understood.

The printing material has now been completed. The edition files are ready for the physical dummy, which will be produced in the coming weeks.

Once the dummy is reviewed and approved, the project will move from concept visualization toward actual production confirmation. That step matters. Until the object exists physically, every decision remains theoretical. Paper behaves differently in the hand. Binding changes the way a book opens. Cover material changes color under light. A slipcase, a box, a certificate, a letter, a prop, and a book only become real when they are tested together as a physical system.

That is why the first 100 places matter.

They are not simply the first orders. They are the first founding group.

The 1897 Dracula by Bram Stoker Facsimile: An Update and the Road to the 130th Anniversary

Dear followers,

The 1897 facsimile is now moving toward May 26, 2027, the 130th anniversary of the original publication of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

I know many of us were expecting the edition in 2026. However, the 130th anniversary provides the strongest possible framework for its publication. It gives me the time required to secure production funding, complete the physical development, establish a reliable manufacturing structure, and present the project internationally at the level it deserves.

The Essential Work Is Complete

The good news is that I have now completed the creative and technical foundation of the edition.

The research is complete. The editorial concept is established. After an extensive restoration process, I finished restoring the original 1897 pages on Thursday. The following day, I completed the digital production files.

The files are now ready for offset printing.

The facsimile is no longer an idea or a preliminary proposal. It exists as a fully developed production project.

What remains is to secure the capital and operational structure required to transform those completed files into a physical edition: funding, prototype development, manufacturing, international fulfillment, and launch.

A Strategic Restructuring

The original plan depended on commitments from external collaborators, including specific financial, production, and operational support confirmed at the beginning of the project.

As I write these lines, those commitments have not been fulfilled.

Rather than continue depending on a structure that could no longer guarantee execution, I made the decision to place the project entirely under direct, founder-led control.

This is a strategic correction.

All the work already completed remains intact. What has changed is the structure through which the physical edition will be financed, manufactured, and delivered.

From this point forward, the project will not depend on external commitments unless the resources, responsibilities, and conditions are formally secured.

An Independent, Founder-Led Project

You should know that I am building and directing this project independently.

There is no publishing house, institution, corporate sponsor, production department, or permanent team financing and executing the work behind the scenes.

I am personally responsible for the research, restoration, editorial direction, design, production planning, website development, funding strategy, and communication with all of you.

That is why the process takes time.

This independent structure gives the project complete creative and editorial control. It also means that the production capital must now be secured independently.

The next financial phase will therefore explore:

• Private investment

• Strategic sponsorship

• Crowdfunding

• A controlled hybrid funding model

The objective is not simply to obtain money. It is to establish a financial structure that protects the edition’s editorial integrity, production standards, and long-term direction.

Until that structure is secured, I will continue advancing every part of the project that I can develop directly.

Why the Process Takes Time

This is a substantial publishing and manufacturing project being directed by one person, without institutional infrastructure or corporate capital.

That determines its pace. I am doing everything within my control to move it forward.

The schedule cannot be driven by external pressure or by the desire to announce a date prematurely. It must follow the actual sequence of financing, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and fulfillment.

I will not reduce the specifications, compromise the restoration, or accept paid orders before I can support every commitment with a verified production structure.

Those who want this edition will need to allow the project the time required to build it properly.

That is not uncertainty. It is production discipline.

The Production Roadmap

The next phase follows a defined sequence:

1. Complete DraculaByBramStoker.com

   The website is currently a landing page for the facsimile. It will become the permanent home of Bram Stoker’s literary masterpiece, bringing together the novel’s plot, characters, analysis, documents, galleries, books, transmedia history, and related research.

2. Secure the required production capital

3. Manufacture the physical prototype

4. Test and approve the paper, printing, binding, construction, and finishing

5. Confirm manufacturing capacity and international fulfillment

6. Establish the final production and delivery calendar

7. Open orders

Each stage must be completed properly before the next begins.

There will be no premature preorder campaign and no delivery commitment based on assumptions. Orders will open only when the funding has been secured, the prototype has been approved, and the manufacturing and fulfillment structure is ready.

What to Expect

I know many of you are eager to receive this edition. I am too. I want my own copy.

I will continue documenting substantial progress: the website, restored material, funding process, physical prototype, material tests, manufacturing decisions, and every confirmed production milestone.

Updates will appear when there is something meaningful to show. I will not interrupt the work simply to produce constant announcements that add nothing to the project.

Once the website is ready, I will open a non-binding interest list for readers and collectors who want to follow the project through production and receive advance notice when orders become available.

Progress will be documented as it happens—with evidence, not promises.

While I continue working on the funding, prototype, and production structure for the 1897 facsimile, I would like to introduce you to another part of my research that is already available.

The Art of Dracula: A Visual Journey Through the Transmedial Representations of the Count is a visual study of the images, historical sources, places, publications, and graphic traditions that contributed to the creation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula—and to the transformation of the Count into a global cultural icon.

This book represents another major area of my work: the study of Dracula from the perspective of graphic design, visual culture, editorial history, and transmedia representation.

The Visual History Behind Dracula

Bram Stoker did not create Dracula in a cultural vacuum.

The novel emerged from a complex network of historical figures, European folklore, travel literature, geographical references, theatrical traditions, illustrations, engravings, and nineteenth-century publishing practices.

The Art of Dracula traces that visual and cultural genealogy.

Across more than 240 illustrated pages, the book examines the sources and representations that preceded the novel, accompanied its publication, and shaped its development across different media.

It explores:

• Vlad III and the historical construction of the Dracula name

• European vampire folklore

• The places and visual references that influenced Stoker

• The original 1897 edition

• Early translations and international editions

• Newspaper serializations

• Book-cover design

The result is both a visual archive and a critical study of how Dracula was conceived, represented, adapted, and transformed.

Research Through Graphic Design

My research approaches Dracula not only as a literary text, but also as a designed cultural object.

Typography, illustration, editorial composition, book covers, printing technologies, and visual conventions all influence how readers understand a literary work. Every edition constructs a particular image of Dracula—even before the reader reaches the first page.

This is especially important because popular culture has gradually replaced many of Stoker’s original ideas with images inherited from theatre, cinema, advertising, and merchandise.

The familiar Dracula of the cape, evening clothes, romantic seduction, and cinematic immortality is not identical to the Count described in the 1897 novel.

By returning to the historical sources and early visual material, the book helps separate Bram Stoker’s character from the layers of adaptation that accumulated around him.

The Art of Dracula and the 1897 facsimile are different publications, but they belong to the same larger investigation.

The facsimile restores the physical and editorial form of the original novel.

There are three things to report this week: the collector facsimile production numbers are being finalized, The Dead Travel Fast has reached 300 Etsy sales, and the softcover reading facsimile is now available through Amazon KDP.

The project is moving carefully, professionally, and in public.

This week, the main production numbers were closed with the production partner.

The final figures are now being adjusted so that the collector facsimile editions can move forward with a clear production plan.

Next week, The Dailygraph will publish the final production timeline.

What is the facsimile?

The facsimile is a certified reproduction of the original 1897 Dracula plates, with minor restoration for accuracy, clarity, and readability. The original files were reconstructed by Dr. Enrique A. Palafox from a First Edition, First Print copy found in Mexico in 2024. With permission from the owner, Dr. Palafox documented the book and digitally restored each page using Adobe Photoshop.

The goal is not to redesign Dracula.
