For instance, a dream about dogs works like clockwork for me and two of my acquaintances (there's a post on my channel). Seeing a dog in a dream — an encounter with the police.

But recently, just a couple of weeks ago, I had a new dream: I see myself from the side — standing with my back turned, and I see myself starting to swell like a balloon. Arms, legs, torso — everything inflates evenly like a balloon! I woke up thinking: "God forbid I get sick" — that was my first guess (a strange dream, having it for the first time). But I decided not to jump to conclusions, to wait and see what would happen.

That very day, around 6:00 PM, my wife and I were driving to the market. Traffic there used to be two-way, but just the other day they made it one-way. However, I knew for sure that you could still drive back and forth up to the market itself and from it — I've been driving for 20 years!

There is also a road on the other side of the market: you could drive past the market, get onto the highway, and come back the same way. They put up two prohibition signs there, but driving to the market and making a U-turn was not forbidden to anyone.

We bought groceries. I tell my wife: "It's fine to drive back, let's just drive carefully and watch the signs." We are driving, everything is fine, no signs, moving carefully and slowly. And then a female police officer stops me and says: "You can't drive here, it's a one-way street."

I answer her in English: "What do you mean I can't? I can! There are no signs!" She says: "I don't understand." I start gesturing with my hands, open the door, show the bags of fruits and vegetables, and say: "I'm coming from over there!" She says again: "I don't understand" (though I could see in her eyes that she didn't really want to write a ticket either) and sends me off: "Go to the officer in the car."

I walk up to the officer, explain the exact same thing to him. He also replies that he doesn't understand. I open a translator on my phone and type the text. He barely glances at it, says: "I'm not going to read this" — and issues me a 40 euro fine! Even though I'm 100% not at fault.

I called a friend, he laughs: "They just need to meet their quota, and the fact that you don't speak the local language let you down. That's the kind of police officers we have. But you can go to the police station and appeal it."

Isn't body swelling a new symbol?! Though before this, whenever I dreamed of dogs, it always meant an encounter with the police in one way or another.

Case #1/3: It’s 2017. I have a dream about a cat. In the dream, I’m sitting on the couch at home, and this cat appears, rubs against my legs, and jumps onto my lap—just like cats normally do in real life. I wake up and think to myself, “Ugh... something painfully tedious is waiting for me.”

I drive over to visit my dad. We’re chatting, and he goes: —“Listen, I’m flying to Germany.” I reply: —“Oh cool, have a good trip!” Then he says: —“But I need to fly out from another city.” Me: —“A-a-and... who’s driving you?” Him: —“What do you mean who? You are…”

And I’m just like, “Uggggh...” (Just to be clear: I ABSOLUTELY HATE long-distance driving!!!).

I go: —“Noooo way!” He asks: —“Why, can’t you?” I say half-jokingly: —“Get Uncle to drive you…” He says: —“Well, he’s coming too!” Me: —“Why?!” —“So the two of you can take turns and make it easier! You’ll drive there and back in a single day!!!”

I’m standing there like, “No, no, no...” (thinking to myself).

To give you a full sense of the drama here: this is late November or December. We’re talking about driving to another city 750–800 km away (around 500 miles)—and the exact same distance back! If it were summer, fine, fair enough. But it’s winter, with blizzards and snowstorms everywhere! At the time, I was driving a 3rd-generation Ford Focus—a really small car—and we spent the entire trip crawling along at 30–60 km/h (20–35 mph)... Instead of the usual 7–8 hours, it took us 12 hours just to get there, and another 12 hours back. It was absolute hell for me.

We spent about 3 hours at the airport because his flight was delayed, and literally all the winter madness happening in the country at that moment was concentrated right on that highway! Over 24 hours on the road continuous… But hey, you can’t say no to your dad, right? So yeah… that’s how it went.

If a dream about teeth falling out (without blood) usually portends the passing of a mere acquaintance, a concert is an entirely different story. It is always about someone close and deeply significant to you.

I had this specific dream back in 2014.

I dreamt I was walking through a massive field in the middle of a forest. Up ahead, a stage was being set up, surrounded by heaps of equipment and gear. In the dream, I knew with complete clarity: a massive concert was being prepared. Yet, there wasn't a soul around—just me, all alone.

At first, I watched from a distance and was about to turn back and leave, but then I turned around and walked straight toward the stage.

“No, I won't let this happen!” I said in the dream.

I climbed onto the equipment, started waving my arms, and shouted that the concert wasn't going to happen. In short, I shut the event down.

Upon waking, I thought to myself: “Thank goodness it didn't happen.” The thing is, earlier in my life, whenever a couple of my relatives passed away, I had also dreamt of concerts. I knew all too well how those dreams usually ended.

Reality Didn't Keep Me Waiting

Not much time had passed—I can't recall exactly, maybe a couple of weeks or a month or two. I went over to my uncle’s place just to catch up, as we usually did. During our conversation, I found out he had suffered a relapse of Hepatitis C, triggered by alcohol.

At that time, our financial situation was, to put it mildly, extremely bad. My uncle was also facing severe financial struggles, which led him to start drinking heavily. He had been living with Hepatitis C for a long time and had already undergone two or three rounds of heavy injections that suppress the virus—provided, of course, that you don't drink.

So there we were, sitting together. My uncle is a proud man—he strictly refuses to ask for money on principle! Meanwhile, the course of injections cost $6,000 back in my home country.

I asked him:

— What are we going to do?

— Nothing, he replied. Whatever happens, happens. I don't have the money anyway.

I walked out without saying a word, but my mind was racing: “Six thousand dollars is a huge sum... And I'm in debt myself.”

True Friends

Thank all the gods for my friends!

I met up with a friend whom I actually owed money to at the time. Swallowing my immense embarrassment, I laid out the whole situation honestly. My friend's reaction blew me away:

— Not a problem at all.

He immediately transferred $3,000 to me and added that he’d send the remaining $3,000 in a couple of days.

I sent the money straight to my uncle. His eyes nearly popped out of his head:

— Have you lost your mind?! Where did this come from?!

— Consider it a gift from my friend. Take it and get treated...

The Fight for Life

There was another extremely critical factor, though. The medication was incredibly harsh: if I recall correctly, the course consisted of 10–12 weekly injections. He was 55 at the time—a serious high-risk age group. Before starting therapy, his body had to be brought into optimal condition, especially his stomach. As it turned out, if the stomach was weak or improperly treated, the blood vessels in the stomach wall might not withstand the pressure during the injection. It would trigger a hemorrhage that no one could stop. (However, thanks to the dream, I wasn't worried that anything bad would happen to him during the treatment process.)

In the end, we got him fully treated, and he stayed alive and well. But if he hadn't stopped drinking back then, it would have been a 100% death sentence: either from the medication itself or from cirrhosis if we hadn't started treatment in time.

So interrupting that concert in my dream was definitely not in vain.

It’s one of the most persistent symbols in dreams…

Seeing a rat usually means you’re about to lose something.

The first time I ever dreamt of a rat, I was around 22 or 24. Naturally, my mom and everyone else immediately knew what it meant. In the dream, I didn't interact with it at all—I just saw it sitting there.

It’s a pretty mundane story, really. I’m the kind of person who rarely, if ever, loses anything. But a month or two after that dream, I somehow managed to lose my car keys… And if you’ve ever had to reorder and reprogram modern car keys, you know what kind of nightmare that is.

When my mom dreamt of a rat, she ended up losing her birth certificate and the title deeds to our house…

My aunt (my mom’s sister) also told me that rats featured in her dreams all the time. Mind you, she’s just that type of person—she can never remember where she put anything, so in her case, it wasn't much of a surprise. Unsurprisingly, she was constantly losing things or leaving her belongings behind…

Just recently, I had a dream where, completely out of nowhere, I punched my son right in the face—like a real boxer! And I already knew exactly what it meant.

From our old family dream book:

A dream in which you hit someone means you are giving your strength to them (implying support, protection, or help from your side). If you are the one getting beaten, it means you will receive strength.

Fast forward about a week. I’m out with my son at the playground. I’m sitting on a bench, looking at my phone, occasionally checking on him to see what he’s up to—running around, jumping, talking to other kids (he is 8 years old).

At one point, I look up and see my son standing on top of a slide with an older boy. You know the type—he looked a bit like a street kid, a little rough around the edges. My son is showing him his laser pointer: “Look, check out this cool pointer I have!” The older kid takes it, goes, “Yeah, pretty cool,” and slickly starts sliding it into his pocket.

My son protests: “Hey, what are you doing? Give it back!” But the guy just brushes him off and turns around to make a run for it. Right then, I yell out: “Heeey!” The bully hears me, looks back in a panic, sees me staring, immediately hands the laser pointer back to my son, and takes off in an unknown direction...

And that’s exactly how the dream played out: in the dream, I gave my son my strength (my protection and support at the exact moment he needed it).

So, I’m having this dream where I’m walking across the ice of a frozen river. As I'm walking, I spot an ice-fishing hole ahead—about three feet wide, the kind they dig for winter fishing. And in the very next frame, I suddenly fall straight through the hole, and the current just sweeps me away, carrying me further and further into the distance... I woke up thinking, "Holy crap."

That same day (or maybe the next), I went to visit my dad. I didn’t end up calling my mom that day to ask her what it meant. So, I walk into my dad’s place, ask how he’s doing, and casually bring up the dream. He listens to it and goes, "Oof... What you’re waiting for right now? You’re going to be waiting for a very, very long time." He was completely in the loop about my situation, so he got it immediately.

This dream happened in late December 2022. Why do I remember the date so precisely? Believe me, it’s serious business.

Fast forward to 2026. Over the last few years, I’ve re-evaluated and looked at a few things differently, and right now, I clearly see it: everything is going to happen this year.

I’ve dreamed about dogs multiple times, and without fail, every single time it meant I’d get pulled over by the police for a document check or something minor. Once, I saw three dogs in a dream, and that very day I got pulled over three separate times! They wanted to check me for illegal substances because the police were running some kind of special operation in that neighborhood. Of course, I don’t drink or do anything like that, but still—what a coincidence!

Usually, when you see dogs in a dream, you just watch them from a distance. But one time, I had a dream where a dog actually bit me on the back of my leg, right below the knee. I remember waking up and thinking, "Uh-oh, I better watch my back..."

Cut to a few days later. It’s around midnight, and my friend and I are driving back home from another city. I had a minor issue with my car paperwork: I had just passed inspection and got my insurance, but the actual plastic registration card took a couple of weeks to process. Instead, they gave me an official stamped paper stating that everything was clear and the card was being printed. In this country, that's just how the system works. I even asked the clerk, "Can I drive with this paper?" and he said, "Yeah, don't worry, every cop knows the deal."

My English wasn’t great back then, plus for some reason, I was already a bit high-strung (maybe I drank too much coffee). Suddenly, we get pulled over. Two officers approach the car. These guys were huge, young, and definitely not regular traffic cops—they looked like serious backup.

They ask for my papers. I hand over everything I have, they look through it, and they start saying something. I just keep pointing at that stamped paper like, "Look, that’s all they gave me." One of the officers says something else, but I can't understand him. Frustrated, I turn to my friend, who is half-asleep, and ask him pretty rudely, "What the hell does this guy want from me?!" My friend was too groggy to even realize what was happening. So, I turn back to the cop and say in my own language, in a really cocky tone: "What do you even want from me? Here are all my documents!"

Was I being arrogant? Absolutely. No question about it, I was completely in the wrong.

And then, things escalated quickly: — "What’s in the bag?" — "Nothing." — "I see a gun in there." — "What?! What gun?" — "Step out of the vehicle. Now!"

I get out. The cop barks, "Hands on the hood!" The second I put my hands down, one of them kicks my legs apart out of nowhere, shouting, "Spread your feet!" He kicked so hard I almost went into a full split. I’m standing there, totally stretched out, and I say, "Bro, I’m gonna fall..." He just snaps back, "Shut up!"

Man, it was a night to remember. Fun times. Long story short, I apologized profusely, and they eventually let us go. I really was out of line! I didn’t say anything explicitly mean or offensive to them, but my tone was terrible, I admit it.

By the way, my mom and aunt always told me about the dog omen—everyone in our family knows this rule. It works like clockwork. And that was the only time a dog ever actually bit me in a dream—and, ironically, the only time in my life I've ever been aggressively pinned against a car by the police.

The first dream always went like this: I was in the apartment where I lived with my mom, trying to lock the front door. You know how, before going to bed, you usually check that the door is locked? Well, in the dream I would lock it, but it would immediately crack open again. I'd try to lock it once more, the lock would break, and the door would open again. No matter how hard I tried, it never stayed shut. Very often there were shadowy figures standing behind the door, as if someone was waiting on the other side. I kept trying to close it, over and over again, trapped in the same loop until I woke up.

Many years later, I finally realized what that dream meant. In the country where I used to live (I'd rather not say which country, and it doesn't really matter), I always felt anxious because of law enforcement and, in general, because of the way life was there. Deep down, there was always this constant feeling of worrying about my own safety.

The second dream was less frequent than the first—probably about once a year, from the age of 25 until I was 32.

In that dream, I was floating high above the ground, about as high as a ten-story building, looking out over the city. Everywhere I looked there were tornadoes and giant whirlwinds. It was evening, the sky glowing deep red, and the entire landscape was filled with these storms. But there was one interesting detail: far off in the distance, as I remember it now, there weren't any tornadoes at all.

And here's the amazing part: I've been living in another country for the past five years, and since I moved, neither of these dreams has ever come back.

When I arrived in this new country (and I rarely fly), I felt such an incredible sense of safety. My God, I think I had forgotten what that feeling was like. Everything suddenly felt so light... so free.

That's my story.

Some time passed. My mother had been experiencing recurring headaches and issues with blood pressure, so naturally we decided to find out what was wrong. We went to the hospital, where she underwent a full medical examination. The doctors eventually diagnosed her with Type 2 diabetes. Since then, she has been taking medication for the past six or seven years.

Thank God, my mother is doing well.

This was another example of a dream involving a house that later seemed to come true. And yet, just a week ago, I had another dream about my father's house. To be honest, it frightened me quite a bit...

About 10 years ago, I had a dream. In the dream, I saw that my father's house was being renovated, and the renovation looked good. However, the walls on one side of the first floor were missing, and there was a trench dug along the fence so that someone could crawl through it.

Some time later, my father went to the hospital for a full medical examination. During the examination, a problem was discovered: he needed a stent placed in an artery, or wherever stents are placed. But that in itself was not a major issue because medicine had advanced to the point where such procedures were no longer considered particularly difficult.

Still, the dream started bothering me. I kept wondering what it meant and why the walls were so exposed, as if the renovation had never been fully completed.

We began consulting doctors from different hospitals. At the first hospital where he was examined, they performed a coronary angiography and told us that two vessels had a narrowing of 60–80% and that one large stent should be implanted.

We decided not to proceed with the procedure there. As usually happens, we started looking for other hospitals and specialists through acquaintances. We sent the test results from the first hospital to three different medical centers and waited to hear their opinions.

The specialists in Germany reviewed the results and said that not one but two stents were needed because, during the original angiography, one of the arteries had not been properly assessed. It was unclear whether a stent was required there, but they strongly believed that two stents would most likely be necessary rather than one.

The second hospital gave exactly the same opinion as the German specialists.

The third hospital said:

"We will repeat the coronary angiography and then decide whether one stent or two are needed."

Some time passed, and we chose the third hospital. It was a world-class medical center. I won't mention the doctor's name, but he is known throughout the medical world.

We were sitting in the hospital room, preparing for the new procedure, when I stopped the doctor and said:

"Listen, we've consulted several hospitals, and this is what they told us."

At first, he didn't really want to listen, as if to say, "We're professionals—what are you trying to explain to us?"

Seeing his reaction, I said:

"I understand that I'm not a doctor, but I insist. This is my father. Please hear me out."

I explained everything.

I said:

"There is an artery where it's unclear whether a stent is needed or not."

He replied:

"Don't worry. We'll perform a new angiography. We'll do everything correctly, we'll see everything clearly, and everything will be fine."

I felt relieved. I thought: Thank God, I've explained everything. Surely he'll remember. Surely he'll notice it.

And what do you think happened?

They implanted one large stent.

Some time later, I told my brother about the situation. My brother is a highly respected physician and an important figure in medicine.

He said:

"That's impossible."

I replied:

"It happened. Maybe I misunderstood something. Call the doctor and ask."

My brother called him and started asking questions, but the doctor could not answer his question about that very artery.

What was the issue?

If two stents had been implanted, then, if necessary in the future, another stent could potentially have been placed in that area to extend my father's life. But by placing one large stent, they eliminated the possibility of implanting a second stent there if it became necessary later.

No matter how much I have tried to use dreams as predictions—and I have quite a bit of experience by now—I have noticed one thing:

You cannot escape what you see in a dream.

It will happen exactly as it appeared in the dream...

One dream that I had 4 years ago especially stayed in my memory: I was standing in the yard of the house where we lived, where I grew up. It seemed to be a bright day, but a little cloudy. I was standing by a bench opposite the windows of that very woman, about twenty meters from her windows. Where I was standing, there was a bench (although there were four places with benches around the house). My neighbors and I often spent time there.

I started picking around in my mouth and realized that a tooth was falling out. I began pulling it out, and while I was pulling it out, it cracked a little. When I put it into my hand, it crumbled. Then I pulled out another piece of the tooth — without blood. That is, while I was pulling it out of my mouth, the tooth was still breaking and crumbling, and when I placed it in my palm, it was already broken into several pieces.

Less than a week passed before I was informed of the death of my neighbor who lived on the first floor of our building. She was a good woman: cheerful, caring… I knew that she had an illness; we all knew.

She had blood cancer, and the disease had been consuming her for approximately 1.5–2.5 years…

Usually, a tooth would simply fall out, without literally falling apart. And personally, almost every time after such a dream, I would learn of someone’s passing… But the fact that the tooth fell apart most likely spoke of her illness, of her difficult departure from life…

I also remember another dream about a fallen tooth. For some reason, I was standing on a mountain, felt discomfort, spat, and there was also a tooth in my hand, again without blood. (If there is blood, then it is a dream about a relative.) And soon I was informed of the death of a person whom I knew, but with whom I had little contact. A distant acquaintance was a good person…

This means attention from a woman toward you, but you will be indifferent to her. That is, she will show signs of attention toward you, and you, because you do not like her or simply because she came into your life at the wrong time and in the wrong place, will not respond to her. The point is that you will be indifferent to her; you will not respond to her with attention, gestures, or in any way at all, but you will see obvious interest toward you from her side.

Exactly the same dream is for women as well — attention from a man toward a woman. If the dream was seen by a woman, you will also be indifferent to his interest in you.

A literal translation from the book of symbols, that very one which has been in our family for about 100 years, while the book itself is about 120 years old — wow, what a relic.)

In general, the literal translation is: a dream in which a snake appears — cold love…

I called my mom and said, “Mom, what was that?”

By the way, there was no blood. Seeing blood in a dream is said to mean you'll meet a relative soon. Interestingly, that one seems to work almost every time too.

My mom said, “You're going to hear about someone's illness.” Then she asked if there had been any blood.

I said, “No.”

She replied, “Then it won't be someone very close to you.”

At the time, I thought, “Thank God,” because my first reaction was that maybe I was the one who was sick. I was genuinely scared.

Some time later, a friend called me.

“Hey, how are you?”

We talked as usual, and then he said:

“Can you believe it? My brother has been diagnosed with cancer. He's 50 years old.”

At first, he developed an intestinal blockage, and his stomach became severely swollen. They went to the hospital. That first visit was the first wound.

Doctors performed a colonoscopy and found a tumor measuring 20 centimeters! But the test results hadn't come back yet. The doctors said everything seemed okay and that the tumor appeared to be benign, just unusually large.

We all felt relieved. We thought the situation was terrible, but maybe it wasn't as bad as we feared.

Then came the second hospital visit — the second wound. This time it was for surgery. The tumor was removed, but afterward the doctor said:

“Wait. It's not that simple. A benign tumor of this size can sometimes spread microscopic metastases without being noticed.”

That was exactly what the doctor had been worried about. During the surgery, he said he removed everything he could reach. But when the pathology results came back, the news was bad. Very bad.

The third visit to the doctors became the third wound. They began saying that some things should have been done differently. I'm not a doctor, so I don't fully understand all the medical details.

Then came the fourth visit — the fourth wound. More advanced tests were performed, and they discovered that the cancer had already spread to the kidneys and liver. The prognosis was devastating. They said he didn't have much time left.

Why am I describing these four visits in such detail?

Because there were four wounds in my dream, and they appeared one after another. With each visit to the doctors, the danger grew greater and greater.

Or perhaps those four wounds symbolized Stage 4 cancer...

I don't know.

But that's how the story unfolded, unfortunately.

When women dream about their exes, I don't have any research on that. You know how it is—it's unlikely that a wife or girlfriend would admit it.

Even if we take my mom as an example: whenever she dreams about my father's exes, he almost always ends up having some kind of trouble or problems in his life afterward. I've noticed that pattern from the stories my mom tells me.

I've even come to expect it: when I dream about my exes, I already know that an argument with my wife is inevitable. 🙂

The context of the dream is usually connected to some kind of news involving that person. In most cases, it's nothing negative, especially if you simply saw them in the dream and nothing unusual happened. There have been many situations where these people unexpectedly reached out, even when you weren't expecting any contact from them.

In fact, just yesterday one of my followers messaged me about a dream he had. I'll ask for his permission and post his story in the comments under this post. His dream was about someone he knew.

There are also dreams where some kind of interaction takes place with a familiar person. In those cases, the dream may point to either difficulties or success involving that person.

In the book I'm currently working on, there will be much more detailed explanations and interpretations of dreams. There's still a lot of work ahead!

I call my mother, as usual, to see how she's doing. We're talking, and I say:

— I'm heading over to my father's place now. We'll sit, talk for a bit, and then I'll head home.

She replies:

— Tell him that Zoya and Georgiy have passed away.

I ask:

— Who are they?

She says:

— You don't know them. Your father does. Just tell him, he'll understand.

I reply:

— Okay, I'll let him know.

We arrive at my father's place, go upstairs, and walk in. Instead of the usual greeting, the first thing he says is:

— I had a dream. Someone put two coins into my hand. I've been sitting here wondering who might have died.

And I say:

— Ah... Mom asked me to tell you something...

He looks at me and says:

— No way...

Then he adds:

— Thank God they weren't close relatives...

As it turned out later, Zoya and Georgiy were his former classmates.

In the dream, I slept with a friend's wife. And while it was happening, I felt overwhelming regret: "God, what am I doing? How could this happen? Why?" I would wake up short of breath, feeling guilty and shaken. Then some time would pass—I don't remember how much, maybe a day, maybe five.

One evening I'm lying at home when that same friend calls me.

"Get over here right now."

I ask:

"What happened?"

He replies:

"Don't ask. Just come."

I'm completely on edge. I jump into my car and drive as fast as I can. I think I even grabbed a pistol before leaving. I won't name the country; this was around 2009. And the stress, the emotions—it all felt very similar to what I had experienced in the dream.

I walk into his office. He's sitting there drinking.

"Can you imagine? I loved her so much. I loved her so much..."

"What happened?" I ask.

Then he tells me. There had been a party that evening at their house with guests over. At some point, he couldn't find his wife. He looked everywhere and eventually found her in the bathroom. Because of the loud music, he yanked the door open. He had been drinking. Instead of ending the phone call, she accidentally put it on speakerphone. And there was some guy on the other end. As it turned out later, he was her lover.

The second dream was very similar. It involved another friend, not quite as close. In that dream I wasn't nearly as upset—just mildly bothered. Over time it turned out that their relationship really was complicated. They had been together for six or seven years. She had a male best friend she would go to the movies with, meet for coffee, call all the time, and so on. Eventually we found out that she married that very same "best friend." My friend later admitted that he had figured it out long before. When everything came to light, she told him:

"Yes, I'm sorry. I love him."

The third dream was almost identical. That situation involved someone very close to me and was much more delicate. The dream was the same, and the outcome was essentially the same as well. From a personal moral standpoint, it's difficult for me to describe the details, but I think you understand the general idea.
