So, how do I stay motivated? The answer is.. I DON’T!

I personally think that people confuse motivation and discipline. So let’s dive into that a little bit.

Motivation is defined as the act or process of giving someone a reason for doing something; the act or process of motivating someone. It is also defined as the condition of being eager to act or work; the condition of being motivated. Most times when I am asked about being motivated it is pertaining to working out (ya girl is down like 25lbs since the start of the year!)… but reading this definition.. I can tell you.. I do not feel motivated to be in the gym most days. Especially the “being eager” part, actually it is part of my frustration with influencers because a lot of people aren’t showing the not so fun part about getting ready to go to the gym. Now, maybe I am a bit crazy, but I just don’t feel the need to be “eager” sometimes and guess what? I am learning that there is nothing wrong with that!

So that led me to a thought, no I am not always motivated, but what I am is disciplined. This is something that was instilled in me as a child and there are both pros and cons to that. Discipline is defined as control gained by enforcing obedience or older, a behavior in accordance with rules or orderly conduct, self-control, punishment, or an activity that one engages in regularly to train or improve oneself. This doesn’t mean I don’t fall short or fall off my routine – but I am always honest with myself about that. Now, I can admit that the way I motivate or talk to myself probably isn’t the best, but it works for me. For example, on days when I am not motivated, I simply ask myself – do you want to gain the weight that you have lost back? The reality is that sometimes we have to be brutally honest with ourselves and with our friends/family.

Now before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, this post is not about anyone in particular – just thoughts that I have and need to dump somewhere!

The reality is that sometimes we expect more of a result but give minimal effort, and unfortunately, that just doesn’t work. If you want a result, you have to put in the work. This doesn’t mean that you will immediately see results and it is OK to have days where you don’t feel the best. The key is always to keep going. Not motivated? Rely on your discipline. Not disciplined? Eh, there is not much advise that I have for you there. People say I am mean or dismissive when I say this.. but.. no guts no glory! If you don’t want to put in the work, do you really want the result?

If the answer to that question is that you don’t want the results – it might be time to stop wasting your time/the time of others.

I speak this way because I spent YEARS being unmotivated and lacking discipline for anything outside of school work. So I am speaking from experience, it is not always easy or fun – but I know that part of getting what I want is being disciplined enough to get there. Motivation is great, but it cant sustain me. Yall are probably tired of hearing me talk about preparation and routines but to be honest, it has helped me in more ways that I even know! Along the way, I came across people that were not afraid to speak truth to me – maybe in a funny way but truth nonetheless. For example, one day I wasn’t feeling like working out.. I texted my best friend (who is on his own fitness journey) and told him to give me a good reason to work out.. this fool sent a gif of a man laughing hysterically and said that is how he was going to be if me and my big back couldn’t fit in my wedding dress (no, I am not planning a wedding lol) but it worked! I went into that gym and used myself as motivation!

I think it is wise to surround yourself with people that will speak truth to you. Even if it hurts. Sometimes we have to get comfortable being uncomfortable. I am a straight shooter – give me the truth every single time! If it hurts, I still take it.. sit with it.. and pray on it. This whole year for me has been about looking in the mirror and addressing things in myself that I want to get better! I say all of this to say – don’t just settle for what feels good. Do the work. Become the person you want to be. If you bump your head along the way – that is perfectly fine! The most important thing is to get back to it! Whatever your “it” is.. reading, writing, social media content, working out, or a combination – just get it done!

When writing my dissertation my chair would always say that the best dissertation is a done dissertation! No matter how you have to get there, just get there!

I would say I hope this motivated you – but that would be a bit of the opposite of what I said earlier right? I hope this helps you to know when to rely on motivation and when to rely on discipline.. but most of all when to rely on the truth & yourself!

During our Juneteenth celebration, a few of the girls and I were talking about this. While it is usually not convenient, it is necessary. We have covered it on the podcast too (if you aren’t subscribed, do better! It is @TheNewKidsLLC on everything!) We need each other. Period. Sometimes that looks like showing up broken, showing up when things aren’t perfect, and sometimes it just means showing up and doing the simple things. Everyone is struggling in their own way, but one thing that we should always have is each other. Sometimes that means showing up for your friends when you don’t feel like it. Now, I am not saying to not prioritize your own mental health. If showing up is going to be detrimental to your well being, don’t do it! I know what you are thinking “girl, it’s not that easy..” and you are right.. it isn’t but some things boil down to either do it or don’t! We as humans tend to overcomplicate things sometimes. Sometimes on the other side of us overcomplicating or overthinking is the exact feeling we need. Occasionally, a good night out, some laughs, libations, and good music is a recharge like no other.

Personally, I feel like as a millennial we have different ideas of true friendship. We grew up on shows that showed us some good and some bad friendships. One of my favorites being Girlfriends. One thing about it, in those late twenties, early 30s.. those ladies were making it a point to be there for each other – even with the stress of their own families, careers, and whatever else they had going on. But then, towards the end we see some changes.. one being when Joan and Toni finally have enough of each other.. but the remaining friend group continues. I feel like it is the best show to see how it can be when everyone doesn’t make the effort to be part of the community. (I also wholeheartedly believe that Joan was actually the villain and her and Toni’s friendship should have ended long before it actually did, but I wont get into that today!)

This isn’t to come off as some type of punishment or me bashing anyone and I am not speaking of anyone in particular, just sharing a few thoughts that I have since this has been a reoccurring topic. One of my thoughts is that it is completely unfair to not be willing to inconvenience yourself for others in need but then being surprised when you do not have an army of people willing to come to your rescue. I decided to no longer tell myself that “no one is coming to save you”.. because 1. Jesus is always coming to save me. Period. 2. I have carefully crafted a community that is not only beneficial to me, but that I can be beneficial to! But this community didn’t just happen – it came after I started doing the work. There is also a 3^rd part of this that I actually still struggle with.. and that is being vulnerable and allowing people to show up for you. So I just want to share what I have learned so far, in this forever journey of being in and needing a village.

Let’s start with some understanding of what we are talking about here:

Merriam Webster defines community as:

1. A unified body of individuals

2. A state of feeling or caring about and wanting to interact with others in a group

3. Society at large

Merriam Webster defines inconvenience as:

1. To cause problems or trouble for: subject to inconvenience

Now that we are on the same page, I am going to give a few ways/thoughts on how to be an actual community!

1. Nobody is asking for your judgement, so keep it.

When we are going through this thing called life, sometimes the last thing we need is a judgmental nagging voice. I am not saying you have to agree with everything someone is doing during their time of need… but there is a time, a place, and a WAY to address things when necessary. If a friend is brave enough to invite you over, but maybe their home isn’t in tip top shape.. being quiet is an option. Or offering to help (in a way that is not overbearing or judgmental) is also an option. I am pretty sure I have shared this story here before, so feel free to skip to #2 if I have or if you know the story. I remember a few years ago being depressed around my birthday. My birthday is always difficult for me to celebrate (iykyk – wont be unpacking that today tho!) but I decided to throw a birthday dinner. Not thinking that anyone needed to come inside my home, but someone had to potty. My home looked exactly like what I was going through.. DEPRESSION. Clothes everywhere, piles of crap everywhere, just pretty messy actually. I was so embarrassed that people would see my place that way. However, God used that moment to show me something, and that is how to show up for people. I told myself I would never make anyone feel the way that I felt that day (and if I ever have, I am truly sorry). All I wanted to hear was “do you need some help with this?” or “how can we help you with this”.. sadly, all I got was the judgmental nagging and shade that I am advising yall against giving. While I hold no grudges – I simply cannot forget how I felt in that moment. So if you are going to call yourself a friend, a sister, an anything that is supposed to be part of a community – offer help before you offer shade. Or kindly shut the hole under ya nose…and if you are a believer, take it to God in prayer!

2. Recognize who is and who is not part of your community (spoiler alert: it is perfectly OK to not be part of a community)

I find myself often doing an inventory of my community and sometimes that means removing myself from folks or removing folks from me. There are some people that I simply cannot continue to inconvenience myself for. It sounds harsh, but it is my reality. Think of it like a job – if you hire someone to do a job but they keep doing no call no shows, are you going to continue to pay them? Probably not. So why allow people to just take up space in your community? The community is just that – YOURS! There is also some work required here too – use your discernment. Seek guidance. Seek clarity. Then invest in your village. Would you prepare a meal – fried chicken, mac and cheese (homemade not box), ya granny recipe for collard greens, yams, and cornbread and just set all the pots in the woods and let nature have its way with it? I don’t think so. So don’t do that with your community either. My village is not a soup kitchen – you don’t get to just come here only when you are in need. Now, this area sometimes makes you the villain in the stories – and guess what? That is ok too! Just remember to set boundaries and that your boundaries are yours to manage!

3. Taking care of yourself is necessary to be able to show up in someone else’s community

We often hear people saying that you cannot pour from an empty cup. Another true quote for me! Idk about yall, but I used to struggle with taking care of myself. You may be wondering what that might look like? Sometimes that looks like staying home, sleeping in longer, taking extra steps in your skincare routine. Only you know what the best self care is for you… I mean after all, it is SELF care. There have been times where I simply don’t feel like I can show up as my best self.. so I don’t.. but that also doesn’t mean I am not still part of my community. Sometimes it looks like – hey I cant make this event but I will buy a ticket to support, or I am not feeling the best, but I can share your post on social media. Make showing up (or not showing up) work in the best way that you can. One example of this is one of my best friends is an amazing artist (singer) and I cant always make it to events even when I really want to.. but you know what I can do? Pray and ask God to cover her while she is at these events, I can send a text to let her know I am thinking about her, I can purchase a ticket if I am planning to attend or not, I can post about her events, etc. This is what I mean by make how you show up your own thing! Real friends are going to understand when you need a lil time to yourself or if you are not able to attend. But I will say this – sometimes showing up when you are not your best does a disservice to both you and whoever are you attempting to show up for. So pour into yourself before you try to pour into others!

4. Work on taking off the mask & know when to call the lady (or whoever)!

We are experiencing some very interesting times in the world right now. From politics, global warming, everything is expensive.. we are all going through it! I don’t think that anyone should be expecting things to be “perfect” right now. The girls and I were recapping this the other day – we all be going through it and sometimes it helps just to share with someone. However, you have to do so with wisdom. Am I going to share everything? No… am I working to be more vulnerable and actually ask for support when I need it? Yes! I think we have to do a better job at surveying who we tell what to.. for example, there are some things that I deal with that I think are a little too heavy for my friends.. and that is ok! That is why there are therapists, mental health professionals, doctors.. etc. You have to know your limits of what to “dump” on who. My friends who have shared with me that they are in therapy know that I have no problem saying “is this something you have discussed with your therapist?” because I simply don’t be having the answers or sometimes even the capacity to take on what they may need to get off. And that is what? OKAY! Even for myself, I will tell my therapist “girl I hope your notebook is ready!” and I am still new to this journey so I can only imagine that I will be saying this more and more! Create a safe space for both yourself and your community – it may take years of work but I promise you it can be done!

This went on for much longer than I anticipated, but I hope that it helps at least one person in their relationships (friendships, family, romantic, platonic, all of em!) I hope that you all find your community, that you are an active member of yours and others communities, and that we can all just stick together and learn and do better! 

Now, you are probably thinking.. what the hell does that have to do with IO Psychology?! When I sat down and started my research for what I wanted this article to be about, I started with researching “popular topics in IO Psychology” and one of the topics I found was employee well being and mental health, so I thought what better time than to share how I reset for the end of the year! I believe that doing this really helped me to prepare for the next year and to get the amount of rest that I needed. I am going to give you all 5 ways that I personally rest and reset at the end of each year.

1. The first step for me is always deep cleaning - I use this time to get all of the projects I have probably put off for a while. I make sure to not work past the point of exhaustion on this one. This is just to make sure that I don’t take any unwanted clutter into the new year.

2. Make rest a priority – I utilize features like Do Not Disturb heavily during this time. I nap when I feel like it, I socialize when I feel like it, but most of all… anything that disturbs my rest is ignored. I know this all sounds “easy” but if you are anything like me, sometimes it can means not doing anything while you have time is hard. I used to try to fill my schedule with everything! It was slowly taking me down, so that had to stop!

3. Be intentional – I usually use this time to get mentally prepared for the new year. I set some goals, I remind myself of the importance of sticking to the goals, and I do everything possible to ensure that the start to my year is smooth.

4. Think about your future self – I use this time to also plan out how I intend to remain disciplined the following year. Each year I plan to add something new to my to do list. For example, this year I implemented resting on Sundays – outside of church or dinner, I just relax and plan for the week.

5. Have some care free days! Throughout this time off I do have some days/times where I decide to just be carefree. Those days are so helpful for me because I do not have to think hard, as an overthinker sometimes not having to really think is exactly what I need!

Now, let’s get into why you are reading this article!

What is career pathing?! In simple terms, it is a plan to plan and track employee performance for success. I feel that often times we think this is the responsibility only of the leaders and managers… but… that is not the case. When career pathing is done correctly it is beneficial to the employee, the employer, and the organization overall. I am completely team career pathing, but think that we can use some shifting in our thoughts on how they are managed.

For example, many organizations use yearly performance reviews to assess employee success. I don’t see an issue with this, however, I find it to be more beneficial to review the career pathing as often as you see necessary. Leaders can use these to guide conversations and coach employees throughout the year. The onus is not completely on the managers/leaders – employees can use them as well. I want to share a few different ways that career pathing can be used.

As a leader, performance reviews or career pathing can be used to guide your One-on-Ones or even team meetings. During my time as a supervisor I would use goals that had been set at the beginning of the year to guide my conversations with employees. For example, if the goal was to reduce their “not ready” or the amount of time they were not available to customers I would share with them where they are currently, if the trend continued where their performance would be, and what it would mean for year end performance. In addition, I would go over what I could do to help them reach their goal and how they could help themselves. Having data and information to guide your conversations with employees is essential.

Now, as an employee – are you wondering how you can use career pathing? Easy! Use those goals that were set as daily motivation to complete your work. Also use it to plan your days as you see fit! For example, if you know what projects you are expected to complete build a timeline and space for you to be able to complete them. Let’s say you need to complete 25 reports in a week. Making a goal of completing 5 per day will help you to get there. Additionally, you can plan out your day as well for example maybe you spend 4 hours writing reports, 2 hours for reviewing, and 1 hour for daily tasks. This will help you to navigate and own your time at work. You can also use performance reviews to guide your conversation with leaders. For example, if you went above and beyond on a specific project you can point out to the leader that this is above and beyond what was listed in your goals. I find the best way to use performance reviews and goal setting as a way to hold myself accountable as well.

For many of my clients, I recommend spending at least one day mapping out your week. Day by day – this will help you to stay on track for where you want to take your career. As an entrepreneur it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle of this – but I promise spending more time planning will make for overall more productivity! If you are an entrepreneur take advantage of the freedom to create your own career pathing!

Overall – it is best to have a path and a plan! What better time of the year to start that than now? Go into 2026 with a renewed mindset on how you will reach your goals!

However, studies show that most engaged employees are more likely to be burned out. Funny, I say studies show.. when I am the one that completed the research I am referring to.. but that is neither here nor there, just thought I’d throw that out there.

Now, there may be some people that are confused on how they can or should engage. So I am here to provide a few ways that you can engage without burning yourself out. Couple this with my recommendations on managing burnout and we have a recipe for success.

New to your organization and not sure how to engage? These steps are pretty easy and could open some opportunities for you.

1. Networking

When thinking about networking I like to take the approach the Issa Rae teaches and that is to focus on networking “across” instead of “up”. Network with those that are on the same level as you across the organization. This can help with learning more about your organization and its different areas! Send the message, go to the lunch, request the meeting!

2. Employee Resource Groups

Now, I know these might not be available at all organizations, especially those that are getting rid of DEI practices but if they are.. join them! These are opportunities for you to connect with like-minded individuals and again, to learn more about your organization. These are generally prime opportunities to network with your peers and even upper management.

3. Internal Job Sites

In the day of social media, most organizations are utilizing internal sites for employees to be able to communicate with one another. If that is an option, use it! Make your presence known there! A lot of my peers I recognize from our internal site and from there we usually become connected on LinkedIn.

4. Volunteer Time/Opportunities

Does your organization have any initiatives that they are currently supporting? Do you know of any missions that would align with that of the company? If so, again, give it a try! I have had the pleasure of getting to volunteer for two initiatives through my job and it has been so cool to get to network face to face again with my peers. Also you may want to look into volunteer hours if they are available to you.

5. Join title specific organizations

What do I mean by that? If you have a specialty take a look at different organizations for that specialty. When I first started studying HR and IO Psychology that was one of the first things that I did – search for groups on social media and I came across some pretty great people some from SIOP and other IO organizations. These organizations generally have research opportunities, networking opportunities, etc.

Now, the real question is – how do you engage without burning out?

The days of simply working 9am-5pm are long gone. It is no longer enough to simply show up. Engaging helps you to not only show up, but to be present in ways that set you apart from others. However, it is important to network/engage in a way that doesn’t make your everyday role overbearing. It is important to engage, but not so important that it causes you more burnout. It is best to set a schedule for all of these things. Maybe set aside some time to network weekly, monthly, etc. As an employee, it is not your job to monitor engagement, however, it is always your job to take care of yourself! If you feel yourself getting burned out as you engage, scale it back! Engaging doesn’t mean attending every event or taking on too much. But only you can find out what your “happy medium” is.

In summary – put yourself out there you never know what doors are there if you don’t at least show up!

Engage. Network. Grow!

Now it is time to talk about how to avoid that burnout. Let’s start with burnout, sadly, is close to inevitable in some cases. If you think about the things that we are culturally taught, some of those things are a recipe for burnout. We are taught to hustle, to grind, to do whatever it takes to get what we want. Want to know something that I don’t really remember being taught? How to rest! So let’s start with our mindset about rest.

Some people think that resting makes them lazy. Let me tell you, that is not true! Rest is not linear. It doesn’t look the same for everyone, the key is to find out what you feel relaxed doing. Listening to music? Sleeping? Spa Treatment? Coloring Books? Ok, that last one was a bit personal . Find what tickles your fancy, and go with it! Think of rest for adults to be what we say to children “an apple a day, keeps the doctor away”… “One act of rest a day, keeps the burnout away!”.

Rest is not a luxury, it is a requirement! It is impossible to pour from an empty cup, and at the end of the day you are responsible for you! Make it a point to rest and replenish yourself. So how do we switch our mindset? How do we rest without feeling the need to go save the world? Let’s talk about it.

Step One: Plan

As the saying goes, if you fail to plan.. you plan to fail. This is true for rest as well. Plan your rest days and stick to it. What I like to do is sit down on Sunday evenings and plan my week out using my Bob Ross planner (am I obsessed? Yes, but mind your business!). For me, when I write things down – they are golden for me. So do what works for you, however you do it.. just plan some rest time.

Rest time looks different for everyone but I can share a few things that I do to truly enjoy my rest.

First, I am a DND QUEEN! Limiting people’s access to me has been one of the things that truly helped me to rest. I love to sit and journal, use coloring books, and a nap really hates to see me coming! Whatever your rest looks like, plan it out!

Step Two: Discipline

Anyone can make a plan right? But it takes someone with discipline to actually commit to it. At first, when you are implementing rest it feels like you are being lazy. Or like there is something else that can be done. And that may be true, sure – you could probably wipe a counter or complete another chore, but resting time isn’t the time for that. Sticking to your plan will help it to become more of a habit.

If you are someone who struggles with resting you can always try active resting. Active resting is defined as a low intensity workout so things like biking, walking, etc. Give that a try to see if that helps you to rest better!

Step Three: Readjust but don’t quit..

Sometimes there will be things that get in the way of rest. I think that is acceptable short term, however, be mindful not to quit on resting. Just switch it up! For example, if you find it difficult to rest at home, maybe try switching up your location. Grab your keys, a journal or book, and head to a coffee shop or park to get your rest on!

Make resting a priority! Again, its not optional.. it is necessary!

Step Four: Recognize the signs..

One of the best things that I have learned to help with my anxiety and depression is recognizing the signs of when I am feeling burned out. Little things start to annoy me, some tasks feel extremely difficult, and my attitude.. well, it stinks! In these moments is when it is ideal to increase your rest. It can also help to have an accountability partner that you talk to about this. Don’t be upset when the people around you call you out on it as well – remember that it is coming from a loving place and that they are attempting to help you with your rest!

It also helps to be honest with those around you. If you need rest, there is nothing wrong with saying that.. or simply doing it! You have to prioritize your rest because at the end of the day you know your body and what you can handle more than anyone else.

I dedicated my entire educational journey to studying burnout and what I found was very shocking. A lot of us were raised to be hustlers, to sleep when we die, to just get to the bag… well, hustle mentality is silently taking out many. Rest should be viewed as a requirement and NOT a luxury. Rest is not something that has to be earned, we are human! Human’s require rest in order to be productive & successful. It is not uncommon for our bodies to begin to tell us when we need that rest. Listen to your body!

I was recently watching an episode of Law and Order SVU (this is an SVU Stan account, there will be ZERO Law and Order SVU slander accepted here!) and one of the officers said “underneath burned toast it is still bread”.. and I started to think, we can be burned out.. but we are still human. We can experience stress and still be ourselves. Over the years, I have realized some people don’t know how to recover from burnout. So let me give you some honest answers here… the first is that there is no cure for burnout. However, there are ways to ease burnout.

Here are some recommendations that I would make to anyone experiencing burnout:

1. Recognize the signs of your burnout. Burnout is not one size fits all. There are signs of burnout – figure out what yours are. Do you notice yourself making more mistakes on the job? Do you notice that you are a bit more irritated than usual? You might be experiencing some burnout so it’s time to do the work and get to the bottom of it!

2. Have personal days! For entrepreneurs, I understand that this may be difficult, however, it is necessary! Get an accountability partner that will call you out when it is time to rest! Take a day, or however many you need, to just relax and pour into yourself. A few days out of each month will not make or break your business. If it does, it is time to reevaluate your business structure.

3. Monitor your work-life balance. Both are important, but think of it this way, without your life you cant do much work anyway right? I am not by any means saying not to work hard, I am saying not to overwork. When speaking to my clients, I tell them the harsh truth.. if you were to die today, your job posting will be up before your funeral is over. Work in a way that still prioritizes your well being.

4. Plan! Plan! Plan! Having a good plan will help to reduce some stress as well. What I like to do is to plan my “hard” days – for example if there are weekly projects I have to do, I plan and schedule them out using my work calendar and schedule some breaks as well! Find a way of planning that works out best for you. As the old saying goes, if you fail to plan you plan to fail.

5. Utilize your resources! Many times, organizations have resources that can assist you with burnout should you experience it. For example, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) generally have recourses for counseling or therapy. There is no shame in getting help in navigating life. They may be more equipped to help you with handle/navigate stress!

Overall, prioritize yourself! Jobs will be there and they will always be stressful but you have to prioritize yourself over the job. When your body says rest.. rest. When your mind feels crowded.. rest. Some people simply don’t know how to rest – but I have a few ideas! Stay tuned for more articles about burnout and work-life balance. This is just one of the many things that AI has the potential to negatively impact. We have seen it over the past few months – mass layoffs, job eliminations, and turnover that is honestly ridiculous. As someone who has applied for jobs recently, I can tell you that there is a large number of organizations that use Workday as a tool for job applications.

There are so many things that make it hard for people to get jobs. Imagine having years of experience, losing a job, and then when you apply.. an AI system rejects you in less than an hour! This is what Mobley and others are alleging through this lawsuit. Further details on the lawsuit can be found in articles linked below!

While there are many benefits to using AI for job postings such as being able to review resumes quicker, scheduling interviews/screenings, and job matching (ATS tracking words, etc.). Personally, I think of AI this way – while it is automated, it is built by humans and therefore runs the same risk of having biases that we as humans have. Biases are not always intentional but they should always be addressed. Using human management to monitor AI may be something that is necessary for success. I think it will be interesting to see the outcome of this lawsuit and will keep you all posted as I find out more. It is important to acknowledge that AI can definitely be helpful, without regulation, where do we draw the line? In this case, if over 11,000 organizaions use Workday and the average work age being approximately 42, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (2025), how many people have the potential to be discriminated against? Just something to think about! A judge has allowed for the case to move forward, however, there are a few notes that the judge agrees that Mr. Mobley will need more evidence and that there are some holes on both ends.

So, what do we do to combat this? Or make sure that we aren’t getting discriminated against? What should employers be doing? Well, here are a few suggestions:

1. Employes can assign teams within their organizations to monitor AI applications. Doing this will allow for humans to review the work that AI has already done. Additionally, employers should be monitoring this suit to see what changes may be necessary.

2. As an applicant, stay on top of the application. Yes, seeking a job is a full time job in itself! I recommend to all of my clients to use a resume/application tracker. If you think you have been denied without being fairly viewed, it doesn’t hurt to reach out to the hiring manager or employer! Remember that AI isn’t flawless, there can be some errors and what you track can be used to help your own case if needed.

3. If you feel you are being discriminated against, reach out to your local HR departments. Express your concerns, have your documents prepared, and reach out to any other necessary resources.

4. Utilize other resources – yes a lot of job applications are through Workday but try using the website of the organization you are applying for. Find mutuals that work there and if needed – network vs applying.
